There are five great scary stories to this movie. First, Its fathers day and this zombie comes from the grave wanting his fathers day cake. Second, and my favorite, King plays this hillbilly that finds a meteor in his yard. But this is not a normal meteor..... Third, Leslie Nielson "who would have guessed it" plays a bad guy that buries a lady and a man in the sand and waits for the tide to take there lives. But they dont stay dead. Fourth, a crate with a wolf beast in it kills a professor and others. Last, a mean millionaire has a big bug problem with his office. This is a real great movie. If you are a horror movie fan, I think that you will really like this one. Pick it up at amazon.』
(Garbage.) 『The old EC Comics were filled with gruesome tales, it is true, but they usually contained at least the kernel of a brilliant ida and were pulled off with excellent writing, artwork, and dialogue. What we have with Creepshow The Movie is absolutely the lamest, juvenile, and superficial adaptation of that genuine artistry into an atrocity of a film. It's as though Romeo and King think that by employing simple gimmicky devices they can get away with absolutely horrid acting and utterly debauched violence. It's a sad, depressing film that defames the excellent work of the original EC artists. Nothing more to say.』
(CREEPSHOW IS WICKED!!!) 『I first seen Creep show when my parents took me to a video rental store back in the days when VHS were all the rage. I remember the video store having them huge floor TV's and I remember the scene of the guy buried in the sand at the beach pleading for help. I also remember seeing the movie cover of Ghoulies. The little green goblin crawling out of the toilet hehehe. Creepshow is one of the great classic horror movies that got me into horror. It is timeless even today. If you are a horror collector you mos def need to add this to your horror collection. This movie is perfect for parties, sleep overs, in your college dorm, and even camp outs. If you are a teen who loves horror please watch this movie!!!!』

Comics of the 1950s--which also provided the title and inspiration for the popularTales from the CryptTV series--director George Romero and screenwriter Stephen King serve up five delightfully frightful stories. Utilizing comic-book panels, animated segues, and exaggerated lighting and camera angles, Romero and cinematographer Michael Gornick come very close to replicating a horror comic in film format. The results mix fine acting with the morbid sense of humor and irony that made the E.C. books so popular in their heyday. Actors such as Leslie Nielsen, Hal Holbrook, Ted Danson, Adrienne Barbeau, Ed Harris, E.G. Marshall, and even King appear in the stories, which include tales of a sinister father's day celebration, a mysterious meteor, seaweed-draped zombies, a monster in a crate, and a cockroach-phobic millionaire. No grossouts, no blood and guts but a chilling, edge-of-the-seat movie that literally hypnotizes you to wait to see what's going to happen to the beseiged family at an isolated farmhouse. Alien creatures stalk outside while a former priest who has lost his faith, his brother who searches for a goal in life and the priest's motherless two small children anxiously await doomsday. I watched it again for the third time the other night and highly recommend it to new viewers. The Winds of Hell』
(Still good in 2010) 『I love this movie. I've watched it too many times to count. I've finally decided to buy it. Complex plotting with intertwined back stories of love, loss and religion. Watch it again to see what you missed. M. Night's subtle "signs" weaved throughout the movie are worth rewatching to catch and explore. Ready for the next installment!』
(Almost $25 dollars!?) 『I really liked this movie, but almost $25 for a catalog title that is over 7 years old is a crock of ****!! It no doubt has everything to do with the fact that it is a Buena Vista title who, as we all know, is owned by Disney. Although it sounds like I have a vendetta against Disney, I really don't. I just feel this is greediness at it's highest level. Please lower this price because it is laughable at this price.』
(Good Character Study) 『An alien invasion of Earth makes a lapsed clergyman reexamine the doubts he has about his faith. Sort of a cross between "War of the Worlds" and "ET", except the focus is not so much on the aliens (must they always be slender and bug-eyed?) as on the Mel Gibson character, whose wifes' accidental death had led him to leave the ministry. Plot is a bit incoherent, but characters are compelling.』
(Won't Sleep For Days!) 『I saw this movie in the theaters once when it first came out and I haden't seen it since that day until the other night. When I first saw Signs I was scared out of my mind.I couldn't do anything without thinking that some alien was outside of my roof or one was going to pop out from behind a tree in my backyard.I couldn't even stay calm watching it in the theater,I was so freaked out.Anyway a few days ago I decided I needed to cure myself of this fear of aliens that I have and get the sounds and faces of these aliens from Signs out of my head.(keep in mind that I'm 21 and I live alone...I get creeped out by my own shadow)So I watched the movie and in all honesty I can see why I was scared of the movie back then,it's not so much a scary,OMG,horror movie,it's more suspense, sci fi.This movie isnt showing aliens from begining to end and the aliens arn't killing and eating everyone. It's just suttle things that make you jump. You get chills before you even see the aliens, the fact that you know their there and you can't see them is the scary part. Finally I have gotten over the Signs curse and I'm ok watching the movie now.I'm not freaking out and honestly this is now one of my favorite Shyamalan movies. You have to see this movie.』 『From M. Night Shyamalan, the writer/director of THE SIXTH SENSE and UNBREAKABLE, comes the story of the Hess family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, who wake up one morning to find a 500-foot crop circle in their backyard. Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) and his family are told extraterrestrials are responsible for the sign in their field. They watch, with growing dread, the news of crop circles being found all over the world. SIGNS is the emotional story of one family on one farm as they encounter the terrifying last moments of life as the world is being invaded. "It's easy for a filmmaker to blow up the world -- but what Shyamalan does is much riskier. He tries to blow our minds. I was engaged by every inch of SIGNS." - Richard Roeper, Ebert&Roeper.』 『This B movie with noble aspirations is the work of a gifted filmmaker whose storytelling falls short of his considerable stylistic flair. While addressing crises of faith in the framework of an alien-invasion thriller, M. Night Shyamalan (in his follow-up toThe Sixth SenseandUnbreakable) favors atmospheric tension over explanatory plotting. He injects subtle humor into expertly spooky scenes, but the story suffers from too many lapses in logic. The film's faults are greatly compensated by the performance of Mel Gibson as a widower whose own crisis of faith coincides with the appearance of mysterious crop circles in his Pennsylvania cornfield... and hundreds of UFOs around the globe. With his brother (Joaquin Phoenix) and two young children (Rory Culkin, Abigail Breslin), the lapsed minister perceives this phenomenal occurrence as a series of signs and portents, while Shyamalan pursues a spookfest withWar of the Worldsovertones. It's effective to a point, but vaguely hollow at its core.--Jeff Shannon』

This was without a doubt one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It is easy to understand when you consider it was being written WHILE it was being filmed. I loved Rob's first Halloween. I loved the fact that he said he would never do another one. Then along came a truckload of money and a chance to get his wife in front of the cameras again. Seriously, I could not stand anyone in the film other than Annie and I think that goes more towards the magnetism of Danielle Harris as a person than any credit to the film-maker. I seriously felt insulted by this thing. It is unoriginal, often unintelligible, and a waste of money. In my opinion, this film ranks below Season of the Witch and Resurrection as the worst Halloween movie ever made. Great. 3-D comes out in October. Sad. Just sad.』
(Decent movie, but doesn't do the series justice.) 『I've been a huge fan of the Halloween series of movies since I was a kid. And Rob Zombie's interpretation of the first Halloween movie thrilled me, as it delved into the history of Michael Myers that the original didn't. After seeing Rob's first Halloween, I was very eagerly anticipating this second one, since Halloween II was my favorite of the original Halloween series. However, this one seemed to miss the mark with me. It wasn't a BAD movie. It just didn't expand on the original like the first one did. Rob's Halloween II seemed more centered on the violence aspect and was closer to a "Torture Porn" genre than a true "Slasher". Also, there was a lot of just plain weird stuff in it that made it hard to follow.
Overall, as a big fan of the Halloween series, this was worth watching. If for no other reason, just to see someone else's take on the movie. But, next time I sit down to watch Halloween II, it will be the original.』
(Michael should've stayed dead after the first movie!) 『Let me get this out of the way so that there is no mistaking what direction this review is going:
JOHN CARPENTER'S HALLOWEEN II IS MILES...NO MAKE THAT LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF THIS REMAKE....NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!
And the reason I can get away with saying this so easily is that being a collector of horror movies and having the complete set of every Michael Myers Halloween and even the one Non-Michael Myers Halloween movie ever made, I can tell you that this second Rob Zombie remake blows monkey chunks so bad, that just when I thought it was impossible to watch, a watchable part came strolling by the screen....and even THAT isn't saying too much but first, a back story to why this remake is not plausible.
In the original Halloweens, Michael was an unstoppable force, a demon possessed and we all understood this and accepted it as such so naturally when he was shot at by police or whacked over the head or gutted with a knife, he could never be killed and he came back film after film after film until finally in "Halloween "Resurrection", Laurie is killed and Michael is believed to be killed also and unfortunately shortly after that movie was finished, the producer of these movies, Moustapha Akkad, was killed in a suicide bombing and for all intents and purposes, that was the end of the original Michael Myers Halloween Movies because Moustapha said that the only way he would stop making them was if he were dead.
The reason why Carpenter was able to get away with bringing Michael back was because of the possession story I explained earlier that Michael was cast in.....
****SPOILER ALERT****IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE FIRST ROB ZOMBIE HALLOWEEN MOVIE, STOP HERE!****SPOILER ALERT**** In Zombie's first Halloween movie, no such demonic possession existed, Michael was portrayed as a child who grew up in a really twisted and dysfunctional household and who himself was bullied at school and one day just snapped and went ballistic on the bully at school and killed him, and killed his scumbag father and was incarcerated and then his twisted mother who was a stripper (more on this later) blows her brains out and then he grows up to be this huge M****RF****R who breaks out of Smiths Grove (just like in the first movie), returns to Haddonfield and starts killing people, now this is all well and good until the end of the movie when Laurie, his sister, shoots him in the head and kills him.
Now, I don't know if you're following me here but if you're not a person possessed by a demonic soul, when you get shot in the head by a gun the size of the one Laurie used at the range she was at?, YOU'RE DEAD!.....This is the first reason why this movie is so stupid...Yeah Yeah, I know it's Hollywood and they can do things like that, I get that but if you're going to make a sequel to a movie like this, at least make it look half way plausible so you're not insulting the audiences intelligence.
I thought the first Rob Zombie film was the better of the two, far better, way better, I'm glad I just rented this film because it's a piece of crap, I don't know why he bother schmutzing it up with his wife in it through out the movie playing a ghost, I mean seriously, the scenes with her could have been substituted with some kill scenes instead because this movie was sadly lacking a body count.....there were more bodies in the Original Halloween II (the music was better also).
There are GOOD things about this movie if you can believe it, Brad Dourif was terrific as Sheriff Brackett, Malcom McDowell, with all due respect to his acting ability was okay as Dr. Loomis but could never replace the late great Donald Pleasance. I really thought Danielle Harris was great in these Zombie flicks, she played the part of Annie very well. Newcomers who do NOT know who Danielle Harris is, she played Laurie Strode's daughter in Halloween IV: The return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The revenge of Michael Myers but for some reason was quickly removed from the cast in any future movies after that until these two remakes.
If you must see this movie, RENT IT, DO NOT BUY IT, Trust me, YOU'LL BE SORRY IF YOU DO, I believe in series continuity just like the next guy and I feel like I need to get every movie in a series but if I don't like a sequel, I DON'T BUY IT...........PERIOD and I didn't like this one AT ALL, Stay away from it!

(Bad way to cheat the fans!!) 『I'm a huge fan of Rob Zombie. I am very sad that I have to say this about his 2 different films Halloween 2 theatrical with better ending.Spoilers alert read no further if you haven't seen the director's cut! The directors cut has more gore as suspected and more nudity. Also it has more of Rob's famous seventy's exploitation style! Both versions are entirely different films in an effort to make more money. This is from a huge fan! The theatrical version has John Carpender's theme and is a better film, more 80's style. I prefer Halloween movies with the only scary parts included suspense,(Rob only had that with his first movie, House of a thousand corpses! The directors cut has great stuff but no theme or suspense just plenty of shock and gore more disturbing images and I think more nudity. Rob is an innovator of what's been done before, but not since the seventy's. Italian directors such as, Joe D'mato, Dadanto, and others have out gored him but those films weren't received well in the States, Unfortunately even Argento's and Bava's movies are better than this. I love you Rob but I had to write this review because you tried to cash out in a bad economy! Both films are great horror films and to the point, but why do the true fans have to buy 2 of the same film. Rob, you should have packaged this differently, it's not fare to fans, like myself.PS. Danielle Harris is still adorable!!!』
(IT IS WAT IT IS...love it hate it.) 『ok so it would get 5 but zombie has to always release directors cuts that change the best parts of his movies to make em more f ed up. remember halloween one? the prison break, instead we get rape. yeah dont expect the original master peace ending! he changes it to an ending thats ok. but it was a good movie. and it was better than what they were planning. a difforent director to do it in 3D? no 3D sucks. any way get it, but if you can find the theatrical version get that one.』 『Rob Zombie'sH2(Halloween) picks up at the exact moment that 2007's box-office smash,Halloweenstopped and follows the aftermath of Michael Myers's (Tyler Mane) murderous rampage through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor Compton).
Evil has a new destiny. Michael Myers is back in this terrifying sequel to Rob Zombie’s visionary re-imagining of Halloween which grossed almost $80 million worldwide. It is that time of year again, and Michael Myers has returned home to sleepy Haddonfield, Illinois to take care of some unfinished family business. Unleashing a trail of terror that only horror master Zombie can, Myers will stop at nothing to bring closure to the secrets of his twisted past. But the town's got an unlikely new hero, if they can only stay alive long enough to stop the unstoppable.』 『Rocker turned writer-director Rob Zombie returns to the horror field with this visually ambitious and aggressively brutal follow-up to his 2007 reinvention of John Carpenter’s seminal slasherHalloween. The 1981 sequel to the Carpenter film is completely ignored here (and for good reason) in favor of an extension of the central focus of Zombie’sHalloween, and all of his films, for that matter: the corruption at the heart of the nuclear family. Here, Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor Compton) is attempting to heal the psychic wounds from her previous encounter with brother Michael Myers (Tyler Mane) by bonding with Sheriff Brackett (Brad Dourif, a pleasure to watch as always) and his daughter Anne (Danielle Harris, herself a vet from the original run of Halloween sequels). Her previous surrogate father, Dr. Loomis (Malcolm McDowell) has forsaken his connection to Laurie by exploiting his connection to Michael with a tell-all book; meanwhile, Michael himself roams the lonely outskirts of Haddonfield, driven by visions of his mother (Sheri Moon Zombie) and a single-minded urge to bond with his sister at any cost.
Aesthetically,H2is striking, thanks largely to the ashen color scheme by cinematographer Brandon Trost (Crank 2: High Voltage), which underscores the doom-laded spiral track each of the main characters seem to travel in the film. And Zombie is to be commended for venturing outside of his comfort zone--the grimy, pop-culture ironic, white trash environment his characters frequently inhabit--with the scenes between Michael and his mother. But again, his ambitions don’t meet with his abilities--Moon looks impressive, but her apocalyptic mutterings ring more silly than spectral, especially when she’s forced to play opposite an enormous pale horse (insert heavy-handed Biblical imagery here). Most fans will find these moments more tedious than inspired, and a distraction from the murders, which retain Zombie’s preference for mayhem. He succeeds in this department, but if the end result is a menu of ugly killings, the point of revamping the Halloween franchise is somewhat moot, since the threadbare follow-ups to the Carpenter original already achieved that goal. Zombie’s knack for offbeat casting remains his most inspired talent: Haddonfield is filled with cult icons like Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Margot Kidder, and Daniel Roebuck, who jostle for space with rough-hewn character players like Duane Whitaker, Mark Boone Junior, and Dayton Callie (Deadwood) and left-field cameos by Howard Hesseman and“Weird Al” Yankovic.--Paul Gaita』

(Too Bad This Was the Last Season) 『From the pilot episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" all the way through this last season of "Angel", I always had one or the other, or both, to enjoy and keep my work week rolling along. Getting to watch Season 5 again after all these years was a real treat and I highly recommend "Angel" to anyone who is/was a "Buffy" fan and didn't give "Angel" a chance. I feel that "Angel" was consistently good from episode-to-episode and season-to-season. Something I always appreciated was how the writers (and Joss Whedon) never shied away from making fun of the show and/or the characters at times, even if the plot was dark. And when things got dark, they were really dark. But there's always a subtle sense of hope that runs through the episodes and seasons that, in conjunction with the great story-lines and writing, helped to bind the show together and keep things flowing along.
I hated to see the show end, but it's always better to go out with a roar instead of a whimper. Enjoy!』
(SERIOUSLY OVER RATED!) 『First I want to say I LOVE this series (even better then Buffy). Angel is my #1 favorite series ever (Buffy's #2), but I didn't like this season. It was a completely different show all together. In season 4 they BUTCHERED Cordy's character (making her have sex with Connor, even if she was possessed it was just disgusting) and in season 5 they totally butchered Angel and Spike's characters and killed 3 of my favorite characters. Spike was my favorite character off of Buffy. He was actually the reason I watched the show his character was so fun to watch and funny (you laugh at almost everything he says), but his character went from the funny, rebel of Buffy that never really fit in and didn't really care to almost boring on Angel. And Angel wasn't the character I grew to love watching on his own show through the years either. He became kind of an ass and a lot darker of a character (not Angelus dark and not "poor me" Buffy series dark, but kind of like he's just drained and hasn't really care anymore). The show was definitely missing that lighter vibe Cordy brought that they tried to fill by bringing Harmony into the cast (they failed) and it was obvious they tried to make Spike fill in for Gunn (since they change Gunn's charater too), but it doesn't work because like I said they loose the character of Spike in doing so. The only things I liked about the show was the closure it gave to Angel and Connor's relationship and Illyria was actually a pretty cool character (but I would have traded her for a Wes/Fred ship for the season).
I also thought Joss was in such a hurry to try and get over the Angel/ Cordy thing once they finished her character that no one seemed to care at all when she died, no one really mentioned it (except Angel a couple times here and there) and Angel within the next couple of episodes is already dating someone else (which I think was a huge disrespect to the character of Cordelia). Even if you don't count the fact that they were in love she was his best and dearest friend and I honestly don't think Angel had he have been himself that season would have gotten over it so fast. I think Joss handled it not only disrespectful to the character of Cordelia, but to Angel's character as well.
If you're just watching to see if Angel and Buffy end up together or Buffy and Spike it's a total waste of time as well. She does love BOTH of them, but there is no real closure on the love triangle.
In seasons 1-3 they have a mission and it's all like one big novel (like the Harry Potter series) with season 4 rounding it out. Season 5 was just completely different! No more Angel Investigations, no more champions, no more fighting for redemption or to help the helpless, no more working for/with the powers the be, none of the things that made the series, the series. EVERYTHING is gone and everyone's personality changes (or they die, or both). It's like if you watched "Gone with the Wind" and everyone wants to know what happens next, but then years after the author dies, some women gets the rights from a relative of the author to do a sequel and it's horrible! They change Scarlett and Rhett's personalites, they have them doing things their characters would never do, and acting in ways their characters would never act and it's just so badly ruined the story for you that you wished you'd never even seen it. That's what they do to the characters in season 5 as continuing of the Buffy&Angel series. I hated the fact that Spike died at the end of season 7 of Buffy, but if I knew they'd butcher his character in season 5 of Angel I would've just rathered they kept him the way he was and ended the Angel series at season 3 or 4.
I think the people excited about Spike are just so excited because he's back that they don't even realize that he's not the same character anymore. Also fans of Cordy's probably wont like season 5 and will probably feel the energy missing from it not having her character around. Angel's character also changes drastically not having her around (as I mentioned earlier). Gunn's character totally changes, so fans of Gunn may or may not like the new Gunn, etc. etc.
The point to my ramblings is that this season really should not have even happened (Plus the ending sucks). But it got 2 points from me (only because the Illyria character was cool and they ended Connor and Angel really nicely, in my opinion).』

Thanks!!!』 『The Angel Investigations team is stunned when the Senior Partners of Wolfram and Hart give them control of the L.A. office. The gang quickly moves in, and although everyone is delighted at the amazing resources they now have at their command, they can’t stop wondering what the catch is. But the biggest mystery of all revolves around a small package Angel receives containing an amulet and a handful of dust—which coalesces into a very-much-alive Spike.』 『Lives were upended--and some co-opted--in the fifth and final season ofAngel, as the denizens of Angel Investigations found themselves taking on one of their scariest endeavors ever: corporate life. After making a literal deal with the devil (or something distinctly devil-like), Angel (David Boreanaz) moved his team from their crumbling hotel to the high-rise digs of law-firm-from-hell Wolfram&Hart, his reasoning being they could better fight the forces of evil from the inside, and with more resources to boot. Clever maneuvering or easy rationalization? Not a few members of Angel's team accused him of selling out (as did a number of viewers), but as with most of the show's previous four seasons,Angelsomehow took a dubious premise and mined it for gold. And with one core cast member gone (Charisma Carpenter, whose Cordelia was immersed in a deep coma), it seemed as if the show, from within and without, would suddenly fall apart--that is, until Angel's longtime nemesis Spike (James Marsters) showed up, fresh from his sacrificial roasting at the series finale ofBuffy the Vampire Slayer. Let the vampire games begin!
WithBuffyoff the air, fans flocked toAngel's last season to get their fix of Joss Whedon's "Buffyverse" in any form they could, and the addition of Spike was a shrewd one, albeit not enough to keep the show from getting canceled. And for the first half of the season, the creative forces behind the show seemed to be toying ruthlessly with the audience. Spike was around, but not entirely corporeal; Angel himself became sullen and withdrawn; and most horrifically, sweetheart scientist Fred (Amy Acker) and former watcher Wesley (Alexis Denisof) underwent traumas that would test even the most devoted viewer. However, just when you'd be about to throw in the towel, things started changing for the better--Spike became a permanent fixture (both in the flesh and on the show), Angel's secret motives were revealed, and the introduction of demon warrior Illyria, who proved to be the show's answer toBuffy's sardonic demon-made-human Anya, was a welcome breath of fresh air. Creatively,Angelalso came up with some of its best episodes, including "Smile Time" (where Angel is turned into a puppet– really!) and "You're Welcome" (the show's 100th episode, which marked the bittersweet return of Carpenter's Cordelia). The ending of the series was deliberately ambiguous, and not everyone made it through alive, but in going out kicking, it was a proper sendoff for a show that always fought thegood fight.--Mark Englehart』

(Action) 『The last 3 episodes to this show is sure to keep you interested, which only gets better when you get to the next disc for some blindsided tales....』
(A Science Fiction Classic) 『If you are a fan of Fringe, you will love X-Files. Even if you've seen the show, watch it again! It's soooo good. The slim case for the season is very convenient. The only issue is a lack of special features, but nobody thought about special features when this was filmed so it's forgivable haha. This is a must-have.』
(The third best season of X-files) 『Excellent season, X-files hits its stride, peaking in seasons 4 and 5. The packaging it comes in is also very well put together and probably why the sets are now so cheap compared to just a few years ago.』
(NEW PACKAGING) 『Just bought seasons 3&4 to ad to our collection and I was at first excited to see a reduced price... The packaging is different, rather than the previous slim sets (as advertised) the packaging is now a thin 6 disc set (which I only found listed on the web page in one place after I went back to look). Same great show, just very disappointed in Amazon and their deceptive web page.』 『Get reacquainted with Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), and all the clever plots dealing with the occult, monsters, urban legends, conspiracy theories, and the rest that made this show an uncanny hit.』 『In the first season ofThe X-Files, creator Chris Carter was uncertain of the series' future, so each of the episodes is a self-contained suspense story; they do not delve deep into the ongoing X-Files mythology or turn to self-parody and humor as do episodes in later seasons. Yet, these episodes display the elements for which the show would become famous: the cinematic production values and top-notch special effects, the stark lighting of the Vancouver sets, the atmospheric halo of Mark Snow's score, and the clever plots dealing with subjects ranging from the occult, religion, and monsters to urban legends, conspiracy theories, and science fiction. Most importantly, season 1 introduces FBI agents Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Fox "Spooky" Mulder (David Duchovny), two of the most attractive government officials around. Scully is the serious-minded medical scientist assigned to join Mulder on the X-Files, a division of the FBI dealing with the paranormal. Mulderis the intuitive thinker with a dry wit, a passionate believer in the existence of paranormal phenomena and one of the few characters on television smart enough to figure out who the bad guy is before the audience does. Their muddled relationship, a deep friendship laced with sexual tension, provides the human heart in a world where the bizarre and horrible lurk in everyday society.
Those unfamiliar withThe X-Filesoften view all the fuss with the same skepticism with which Scully first regards her new partner's ideas. But just as she comes to realize the uncanny accuracy of Mulder's outlandish theories, newcomers toThe X-Fileswho sample a few episodes in this boxed set will likely find themselves riveted to their television late into the night. And undoubtedly, the shadows and creaking noises in the house that evening will seem more menacing than usual.--Eugene Wei』

Adam had potential, but I think they waited until too late to introduce him. However, as far as individual episodes went, I think this season did very well. It had several clear themes and new points of growth for the main characters that built nicely on from past seasons, and perhaps my favorite Buffy episode of all time, Restless.』
(HUSH.........) 『 Though at times facing criticism as the weakest out of the first four seasons, Buffy Season 4 must, I repeat, must be watched organically with seaons 1, 2,and 3. When you do that, season 4 will take on a whole new meaning. You will realize what you thought were glaring weaknesses in in season 4 were brilliant uses of continuing stories lines from season 3, and a wonderful set up for season 5. Was Riley as great replacement for Angel, no--do I think he was intended to fill that role, no. He was a unique Buffy love interest who has to be taken for what he is--when you meet him, you will see what i mean. Though I tend to agree that Adam as a villain was rather second rate, there is much more beating under the heart of this season. Remember as you watch this season, that this is Joss Whedon bringing his characters into college life, and as a result much of this season is one huge metaphore. As the first three seasons did for high school life, he captures the college freshman year perfectly. To the roomate from hell, and classic episodes like "Hush" that deals with the issue of not only losing one's' heart, but one's voice, this season is filled with terrific acting and heartfelt story lines. Other terrific things to watch for as you watch the season, spike being collared by Riley and his group of commandoes masquerading as college students, and OZ being collared as well as he makes his return to Sunnydale. Other things to watch---Buffy's encounter with the first slayer, intense, scary stuff. Watch the season finale carefully and I dare you not to think it is one of the most brilliant season finales you will ever see. It leads perfectly into season five with one word important phrase, if you turn your ear away, you'll miss it so listen very carefully. One cannot miss episode, "Superstar" one can miss, and did miss, even according to Joss Whedon, "Beer bad." its such an awful episode, you still have to love it!
Season 4, Episode 1: The Freshman Original Air Date--5 October 1999 When the Sunnydale High gang arrives on college campus, Willow and Oz -who even knows the site and people from his band, which has a cool house- take to academic life like a duck to water, Buffy like a fish on land, miserable with a plain roommate she can't confide in, lost, making a fool of herself with one of the rough, demanding professors. Buffy literally bumps into charming teaching assistant Riley Finn, but he is clearly more interested in fellow psychology buff Willow. Another literally lost student, Eddie, seems nice, but disappears the next morning. Buffy smells vampires, indeed a whole nest has formed a sorority. Visiting Giles, she finds him with a scantily dressed visitor, Olivia, and is told to mind herself except in emergencies, not the case yet apparently, however he will reconsider later. The vampire president is arrogant, hopefully enough to underestimate Buffy, who is greatly relieved to find Xander is back from his summer touring...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season 4, Episode 2: Living Conditions Original Air Date--12 October 1999 From the start Buffy didn't get along with her fussy, girlish roommate Kathy Newman, who seems to have a different taste in all matters, but Kathy seems determined to follow her around. One evening Buffy shoves her out of the way to fight off one demon of a lurking type which Giles, to whom she turns in search of anything familiar, later determines as trans-dimensional. Even Parker Abrams, the nice, helpful older student Buffy met, who came for her to their dorm room while she patrolled, seems more interested in Kathy. The antagonism between the rivaling roomies grows to a 'demonic' dimension, while Buffy believes that Kathy's fingernails growing back daily must be a monster-characteristic. At last the gang decides to intervene, but an unexpected other interested party...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season 4, Episode 3: The Harsh Light of Day Original Air Date--19 October 1999 Willow is bitten by bimbo friend Harmony Kendall, who turned vampire at the end of season 3, Oz chases her and she threatens her boy-friend will beat them up- that's actually Spike, who has a secret new underground layer and troop to dig for a crypt. Now Kathie is out of the way, Parker Abrams, who switched major from medicine to history, is ready to kiss Buffy, but the vampire alert (a 'bad puppy' is all they tell him) gets priority for a while. Harmony makes Spike bump into Buffy, he says it's too early, she blurts out they're after the stone of Amara, according to Giles a fictitious vampire grail-equivalent rendering invulnerable. Anya is eager enough for sex with Xander to strip for him- his objections last a mere minute. Buffy gets into Parker's bed, but no commitment either. The whole gang is summoned by Giles, who found the gem may indeed be in a crypt in the 'Valley of the Sun' i.e. Sunnydale; Spike already found it and dumped childish Harmony...

However, while decorating the place previously, one of the hosts paints a magic symbol, the Mark of Gachnar, on the floor, and an accidentally spilled drop of Oz's blood awakens the Fear Demon Gachnar who is fed by fear, bringing panic and horror to life on the house.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season 4, Episode 5: Beer Bad Original Air Date--2 November 1999 Gloomily gazing at Parker, who has moved to another one-night-conquest, still enamored Buffy misses out on another chance to approach charming teaching assistant Riley Finn in the college bar and accepts an invitation from some arrogant students. Those grossly embarrass the new barman, Xander, who finds the work and his boss harder then expected, while feeding Buffy gallons of pedantic crap and their adored 'panacea' beer Black Frost, which contains an inhibitions-blocking, addictive concoction, taken in such large quantities even turning them into ape-men, losing speech, wielding cudgels, setting fire to the college bar. Grumpy because her Oz has eyes for another band's female singer, Willow spits at 'never evolved, sex-obsessed' men to Parker, the cavemen knock them down. Giles loses her track after realizing Buffy's regression, but brave Xander kept up and saves the students from the fire; only her ex Parker is left to Buffy, who already felt like hitting him vindictively...

Ankya finds her lover Xander particularly sexy in his new construction laborer's job, digging a deep hole during the ceremony for the newly built Cultural Center at UC Sunnydale, but he falls badly into an Indian grave inside the ancient mission, and thus releases the revengeful spirit of the Chumash warrior Hus, who can transform himself into green smoke or various animals, and starts by killing the curator with an 19 century ceremonial Chumash stone knife. The fact that Xander gets the very diseases (sick he seems as erotic to Ankya as sweating bare-chested) the Chumash contracted while virtually enslaved in the colonial era, and the choice of Hus's victims make Willow, who feels very guilty for the plight of the natives, and Giles, who insists Hus's victims are innocent, realize he must be after historical vengeance. Meanwhile Riley Finn's military Initiative commandos team continues implants rendering vampires unable to bite victims, notably Sîke, who is now chased from the hell-mouth by petty Harmony, and seeks refuge at Giles's, where he is however tied up. Angel is also around again, but insists to Giles and Willow -who disagrees- not to tell Buffy. Hus returns to the grave site to awake more Indian spirits, which jointly mount an attack on Giles's home during the dinner, wielding traditional weapons...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season 4, Episode 9: Something Blue Original Air Date--30 November 1999 Willow has another try at active magic, trying to cure her lovesick longing for Oz by means of a spell which makes her will come true, but thinks it failed while it's only delayed and sometimes works otherwise, more literally then she meant, so without anyone realizing for a while she blinds Giles, switches Amy from rat to girl and back, teleports Buffy, makes her tell off Riley because she and Spike fall madly in love and actually plan a wedding and makes Xander attract demons. Only when Anya, Xander and Giles, who was looking for magic to help Spike with his feeding problem, figure out what has happened can the magic be reversed, but the council of the upper demon D'Hoffryn, who granted her spell, has summoned Willow, intending to recruit her as a powerful evil witch, not the failure she believed to be...

(And the series starts to go downhill....) 『Buffy season 4. Widely considered to be the worst season of Buffy. Worse than season 1, season 5, or even season 7. I didn't really feel that way at all. I didn't really feel that the season was particularly good, but there were a few parts of it that I liked.
I want to first address some key problems that the writers were faced with. They started out the season having lost two great characters, Cordelia and Angel. Angel had left Sunnydale to be apart from Buffy, and to seek out his own spin-off series in LA. That joke's getting old, I know. They decided to move Cordelia to LA also, I guess because they didn't think they could do much with her on Buffy. And then, five or six episodes into the season, they lost Oz. Now that wasn't the writer's fault. Actor Seth Green wanted to leave the show, he just wanted to move on and try other things. That kinda stinks. Oz was one of my favorite characters. So just based on those problems, we already know this season may not be as good as previous seasons. To fill the void left by those characters, over the next few seasons, we get introduced to a few new characters; Anya, who was actually introduced at the end of season 3, Tara, Riley, and.....Uugggghhhhhhh......Dawn. Now I'm not going to go into this garbage pile of a character in this review, because she doesn't come on until season 5. However I need to talk about some of the others.
First of all, Anya. I hated this character when she first came into this season. She was kinda funny in season 3, but I just couldn't understand why Xander went to the prom with her. I guess he couldn't get anyone else to go with him. That makes sense. But to have Xander start an actual relationship with her, then almost marry her in season 6? SHE'S A FRIGGIN' DEMON!!!!! Well, okay, ex-demon, but still! Now I'll admit, she kinda grew on me, but still, her character didn't really serve any purpose on the show, other than to be the comic relief which was only funny half the time. Now, Tara. I know I could get in trouble for saying this, but based on the Willow who was established in the first three seasons, it made no sense for her to become a lesbian and fall in love with Tara. Willow had some really strong heterosexual relationships in the first three seasons. I read somewhere that Willow and Tara become cultural symbols or something in the gay/lesbian community. Now I didn't really like Tara as a character much, either. Why? She's not a character. She's just an extnesion of Willow. In season 6, she finally develops a something of a personality. But for this season, she serves no purpose other than to make Willow gay, and therefore make the show politically correct. Lastly, the character Riley. He and Dawn are probably the two most hated characters in the Buffyverse. I don't really know why everyone hates him so much. I thought he was an okay character. He's not one of the best characters ever, but I didn't hate him. In a way, he's what Buffy has always wanted. He is capable of having a normal, healthy relationship with her, and he knows how to take care of himself, so there's not too much danger of him getting killed for being close to Buffy. Now I don't think he's as cool as Angel. I think too many people wanted him to be as cool as Angel, and were disappointed.
Now as I said before, I didn't hate this season. I just didn't think it was very good. The first half of the season was mostly a bunch of cheesy, campy episodes. I liked the second half slightly better. I thought the initiative would be the bad guys. I thought professor Walsh could have been the main villian, I think that would have been cool, but instead, we get the cyborg villian, Adam. I didn't think he was very threatening, but he wasn't the worst villian ever, there would be worse villians in the future. A villian like Adam is really only good for one episode, or maybe a two-part episode. But at least he didn't obnoxiously take up the whole season, like Glory and The First did in seasons 5 and 7, respectively. The end of this season was not very good, but it was entertaining to watch. They defeat Adam by turning Buffy into....something....something really strong which apparently knows how to use the force. So they beat Adam, and then the season finale has them having weird dreams for no reason, something with the first slayer. Then they wake up, and the season ends.
Overall, not a very good season. However, there were a few episodes I liked. The very first episode, "The Freshman", I liked. I thought it was a great way to start the season. Buffy is feeling overwhelmed with all the pressure from starting college, and her friends seem distant. Because of this, her slaying suffers. In the end, though, she pulls it together and beats the vampires and begins her year with renewed confidence. I liked the episode "Wild at Heart". Even though it was Oz's last episode as a regular, I liked the drama. The episode "Hush" is considered to be the best episode of the whole series, and I'm inclined to agree. The episode was a great blend of horror and comedy. I liked the two episodes "This Year's Girl" and "Who are You". Faith returns and pulls a body-switch with Buffy. She takes up Buffy's slaying, and discovers she enjoys being good. Buffy swithes them back, though, and Faith leaves Sunnydale starting to feel remorse for everything she's done.
Those are about the only episodes I really liked. Other than that, the season is not very good. But it is way better than some of the seasons that were to come. I would not recommend buying this season. If you've seen the first 3 seasons of Buffy, I'd recommend you just start watching Angel. It's much better than the later seasons of Buffy. If you really want to see the later seasons of Buffy, then go out and rent them. Don't waste your money.』
(Buffy goes to college) 『Buffy and the gang head off to college. Still fighting Vamps and demons, Buffy has a new lover in Riley from the ultra secret Initiative. More depth in the supporting characters and their lives. I still thoroughly enjoyed this season and highly recommend it to fans.』
(Received what I asked for) 『No complaints about this product or sender. I received what I wanted in the allotted amount of time.』 『Buffy begins college feeling completely overwhelmed. But once the monsters show up, its just like old times. Then she starts dating Riley, a handsome commando battling the same monsters. He's a part of a secret organization called The Initiative and Buffy is all too happy to join the team. But she soon suspects The Initiative maybe more dangerous than the monsters they are supposed to be battling...』 『Having battled a hellish vampire master, an evil boyfriend, a rogue slayer, a giant man-eating demon-snake thing, and a particularly nasty high school principal, Buffy Summers embarked on one of her biggest challenges in the fourth season ofBuffy the Vampire Slayer: college. With boyfriend Angel out of the picture (and on his own show) and Sunnydale High destroyed, new horizons were to be tackled for Buffy and the rest of the Scooby gang. There were cute guys (Buffy's new boyfriend Riley), cute girls (Willow's new girlfriend Tara--yes, Willow's gay!), frat parties, irritating roommates, harsh professors, and, oh yes, a secret military initiative that was experimenting on the demon population (Riley's part of it).
Buffytruly hit its golden years in the fourth season--just when you thought this show couldn't get any better, Joss Whedon and his creative team pulled out all the stops and took Buffy and co. into rich new territory. By far, the highlight of the season (and the entire series) was the Emmy-nominated "Hush," a nearly dialogue-free episode in which the creepy "Gentlemen" rob Sunnydale of its collective voice, and Buffy and Riley finally come face to face with each other's hidden identities. While Frankenstein-esque monster Adam wasn't the show's best villain (you'll have to wait until next season's Glory for that), he was a worthy adversary for the biotech age, and the military milieu was a nice contrast to Buffy's previous gothic outings. Season 4 also marked the return of blond vampire Spike (who developed a crush on Buffy), the ascension of vengeance demon Anya to full-time cast status, and the brief return of bad slayer Faith (in a fab two-part body-switching episode). Throughout, the entire cast, headed by the unparalleled Sarah Michelle Gellar, worked television magic of the kind rarely seen on the small screen. This isBuffyat its best.--Mark Englehart』

Stephen King, whose original teleplay is his best work for the screen sinceThe Stand, transforms the sleepy burg into a Peyton Place of guilty secrets and criminal activity ripped from under a blanket of small town normality while the white-out of the snowstorm completely cuts them off from civilization. Director Craig R. The more ambitious special effects and set pieces sometimes disappoint but are more than made up for in King's knack for turning the mundane into the macabre (the children's song "I'm a Little Teapot" has never sounded more sinister) and a few brilliantly realized sequences, the best of which occurs when townspeople are literally yanked out of existence while watching the storm.Storm of the Centuryis one of the most successful translations of King's brand of horror to the screen.--Sean Axmaker』

I've seen both the director's cut and the theatrical cut, and I couldn't tell you the difference between them. The reason for the 3 stars has to do with the lack of extras. There are NO extras on this Blu-ray! None!』
(Down With The Sickness Deluxe!!) 『Let me start off by saying that this genre is one of my favorites of all time but im not the type that is easily satisfied. Chances are if you are reading this you have already seen this movie more than once and are a fan of the living dead just as much as me, so no need to go into the plot of this movie anymore than what has already been said a hundred times on here before. I LOVED IT!!! When i received my blu ray edition of this remake i popped it in instantly and was in awe of the beautiful transformation of detail and colors that did not seem to shine in my original DVD copy. This rollercoaster ride (the first 10 minutes is CRAZY good) of a movie and the thought of running zombies that can catch you vs the slow walkers you can run just around are just a much more terrifying experience to me. Zach Snyder hit a homerun on this remake and any zombie fan would be wise to add this blu ray to their collection and enjoy this end of the word experience in BLU RAY!!!!』
(Extras??????) 『My Review is on the Dawn of the Dead (Unrated Director's Cut) [Blu-ray] (2004), great movie, looks good in HD. But where is the extra content??????? would have gave it 5 stars if it had some.』
(Splendid remake of Romero's '78 thriller) 『I just purchased this remake of Romero's thriller in HD DVD at a bargain price and it's a winner in many ways, an improvement over the original. Although the original had some political points to make, Zack Snyder's version is more focused on the myraid characters who find escape, temporarily, in the mall. Also the acting is much better here than the original plus the wide screen and Dolby sound pull you in on the horror that is to come. Definitely recommended for all horror purists and zombie enthusiasts! Much better than the "28 Weeks Later" debacle.』
(Worthy Remake with Updated Flow, Effects and Twists) 『I am a huge fan of this genre of movies and have to say that this is one of the best ever. I've been enjoying "Dead" movies since the original "Dawn of the Dead" from George Romero in 1979 which stood completely alone in it's time and is still a great classic.
Having said that, here's what I really like about this wonderful remake:
- The updated setting, story and feel - Updated special effects - superb! - Faster flow that makes this a bit easier to watch than the original - The new level of terror introduced by zombies that run full speed! - Using the "Mall" motif again - Celebrity target practice - fun! - The baby - yikes! - The acting and character development - The armored bus - The chainsaw scene - Great action and stunts - The completely screwed up ending - delightful!
All of these elements come together into a very satisfying experience for those who like this sort of thing.
』 『Studio: Uni Dist Corp. (mca) Release Date: 09/30/2008 Run time: 215 minutes』 『Are you ready to get down with the sickness? Movie logic dictates that you shouldn't remake a classic, but Zack Snyder'sDawn of the Deaddefies that logic and comes up a winner. You could argue that George A. Romero's 1978 original was sacred ground for horror buffs, but it was alow-budgetclassic, and Snyder's action-packed upgrade benefits from the same manic pacing that energized Romero's continuing zombie saga. Romero's indictment of mega-mall commercialism is lost (it's arguably outmoded anyway), so Snyder and screenwriter James Gunn compensate with the same setting--in this case, a Milwaukee shopping mall under siege by cannibalistic zombies in the wake of a devastating viral outbreak--a well-chosen cast (led by Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, and Mekhi Phifer), some outrageously morbid humor, and a no-frills plot that keeps tension high and blood splattering by the bucketful. Horror buffs will catch plenty of tributes to Romero's film (including cameos by three of its cast members, including gore-makeup wizard Tom Savini), and shocking images are abundant enough to qualify thisDawnas an excellent zombie-flick double-feature with28 Days Later, its de facto British counterpart.--Jeff Shannon』
