(Full screen, widescreen: Does it matter!?)
『This is my personal opinion as an anime watcher as well as an artist. I'm no purist with DBZ. I got into fighting anime thanks to DragonBall Z. I didn't grow up on DBZ like the purists out on the net (you know who you are). I'm not gonna talk about the contents of this release (episodes and story info). I like this set in widescreen personally. For me it feels more episodic like other shows in widescreen.

On the plus side you get to watch the entire Saiyans story that was originally intended for the Ultimate Uncut Editions, but instead ended up on Cartoon Network (which I personally recorded). And on less discs than said edition. My only complaint is that you can't view the original credits for the intro (opening) as well as the opening song for the revised dub/japanese bgm selection. So what?

I've grown to like anime in widescreen, because I like the bars at the top and bottom of my screen. This was FUNi's decision to widescreen DragonBall Z and it's worked out pretty darn well. The purists need to get over it.』

(Dragon Ball Z: Season One (Vegeta Saga))
『We gave this for a Christmas gift, very nice. I plan to purchase the rest of the series over time.』

(It's just like I remember it!)
『I absolutely am a geek and I loved DBZ as a kid. Lately I've had a craving for it so I purchased the DVD. I'm actually watching it as I write this review :D But to me, this is just as good as the TV show I remember and I am very impressed with the DVD.』

(great)
『i have been in love with dragon ball z since i was 4 i am now 16 and i still love it this dvd is a competly new experence with so many parts that never where in the tv airing this is a must buy im buyin season two right now』

(Great, but couldve been better.)
『This is great and well worth the money. Quality is great for a old show like this one. I love everything about it except two things. 1. Its wide screen, I don't make a huge deal out of this but i would still prefer full screen. 2. Is that it doesn't have the "cha la head cha la" song which is one of my most favorite japanese DBZ songs. But other then those two things i couldn't ask for anymore.』
『The Saiyans are coming! The last survivors of a cruel, warrior race, these ruthless villains have carved a path of destruction across the galaxy, and now they have set their sights on Earth. They will stop at nothing until they have the wish-granting powers of the seven magic Dragon Balls for their very own.

With the fate of his family, friends and the entire human race hanging in the balance, Goku, the Earth's greatest hero, must rise to meet the approaching threat. As he prepares for the fight of his life, Goku embarks on an epic journey that will take him to other worlds, pit him against new and old enemies alike, and force him to confront the dark secrets of his own past. At the end of his path, the most powerful opponent he has ever faced awaits - the evil Saiyan Prince Vegeta!

This Dragon Ball Season Set is the definitive collection!

The ultimate Dragon Ball Z - Collect them all!』
『One of the most popular franchises in anime history,Dragon Ballbegan in 1984 as a manga by Akira Toriyama inShonen Jump.Dragon Ball Z(1989), the second TV adaptation, is the most beloved: it ran for 291 episodes--more thanDragon Ball(1986) andDragon Ball GT(1996) combined. Over the years, the program has introduced countless boys to the world of Japanese animation. The first season re-introduces the main characters and sets up a new threat. Goku learns he's not an Earthling, but a Saiyan from the planet Vegeta. Only three other Saiyans survive, all of them extremely powerful and destructive. Goku destroys Raditz with the help of Piccolo, but dies in the process. He spends much of the season training in the Other World with King Kai. Piccolo takes over training Goku's son Gohan, anticipating he will have to face the remaining Saiyans, Nappa and Vegeta. These episodes set the pattern for the combination of martial arts training, fantasy-battles and slapstick comedy that make the series so popular. The storyline rambles, with lots of digressions, repeats, and false endings--none of which bother the fans. AlthoughDragon Ball Zhas been released previously in the US, Funimation pulled out all the stops for this edition. The entire series has been remastered from the original prints, and the Japanese language track is included for the first time. (Goku and Krillin have higher-pitched, younger voices than they do in the American dub.) ForDragon Ball Zfans, this version clearly supercedes all previous ones. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence; minor incidents of risqué and toilet humor, ethnic stereotyping and alcohol use)--Charles Solomon

    (AMAZIN!!!!)
『This show is so amazing!!! I can barely contain myself the day it comes on Adult swim (saturdays at around 10-11:00) Its one of the greatest shows i have had the honor to watch! The story line is spectacular the action is amazing you will love it believe me and even though it has tons of action it has time to find the funny side of things wheather it be Ichigo got his Zanpaktou stuck in a wall or his crazy dad attaked him while he was sleeping or Karin smacks her dad for being dumb. It is also one of those shows that will catch you off guard and hae you on the edge of your seats or if your like me you fell off your seat right onthe floor. It also has those tear jerking episodes. I have cried, laughed and fell off my seat plenty of times watching this show!! Its amazing and i am so thankful it is here and hopefully will stay!!!!!』

    (Super! Love this whole series!)
『I gave Bleach Uncut Box Set Vol. 3 five stars. I love this whole series. When you can't find it other places, you can probably find your item at Amazon. Discs were in great shape and arrived promptly. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.』

    (Catch it on DVD)
『If you have not been following this on adult swim, this is your chance to catch up (or begin) on one of Japan's most popular exports. Bleach is supernatural anime at its best. Its equal parts horror, action, laughs and more action. While geared to teenage boys (shonen), it is still lots of enjoyable viewing for all. Im a huge fan of the show having started watching its current season (season 5).

    Not to be missed.』

    (love it)
『Bleach is a great show. I am not an anime lover but I always look forward to seeing this one.』

    (Awesome!)
『As Far as Anime goes, this is by far one of the best. I recommend this series to anyone who loves anime. Season 3 is just as awesome as seasons one and two. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released.』
『The day of Rukia's execution draws ever closer, and to save her, Ichigo and his loyal comrades must navigate the madness of a Soul Society on the brink of collapse. Ichigo and Renji face the most difficult training of their Soul Reaper careers as they struggle to achieve bankai, without which they have no hope against the most powerful captain of the Seireitei--Byakuya Kuchiki. While all the players converge at the site of Rukia's imminent execution, in the background, a group of Soul Reapers slowly uncover an unimaginable betrayal at the hands of one of their own--a betrayal that will shake the Soul Society to its very core.』
『The third season of the hit fantasy-adventureBleachmarks the conclusion of the story arc that began in "The Substitute" two seasons earlier. Orange-haired, hot-tempered Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends--Chad, Orihime, Ishida, and Master Yoruichi, the talking cat--pass through the inter-dimensional portal linking Earth to the Seireitei, the stronghold of the Soul Society. Although they’ve come to rescue Rukia from execution, the arrival of the teenagers precipitates a deadly civil war within the Soul Society. Amid the growing chaos, Yoruichi reveals she was a princess in the Seireitei before she fled to Earth. When she realizes Ichigo isn't strong enough to survive the impending battles, Yoruichi spirits him away. He must be able to achieveBankai, the ultimate power over his Zanpak-tô sword, which he learns by dueling with Zangetsu, the spirit of the sword. Despite exhaustion and the wounds he's received, Ichigo fights with grim determination. While Ichigo trains, some of the Soul Society's most formidable officers join the teenagers, including Toshiro, the child-prodigy captain, the fantastically tattooed Renji, and the spiky-haired Kenpachi. Ichigo arrives just in time to save Rukia. Drawing on the grueling training he's just completed, Ichigo fends off the clouds of murderous blades summoned by Rukia's haughty brother Byakuya. During the battle, Ichigo begins to growa half-mask that resembles the monstrous Hollows. Horrified, he rips it away and renews his attack. But Ichigo has no time to celebrate his narrow victory: he, his friends, Rukia, and the Soul Society Captains have all been used as pawns by an unscrupulous villain. Director Noriyuke Abe once again shifts from dramatic derring-do to broad comedy as he sets the stage for the next story arc. Ichigo's time in the Seireitei made him stronger--but is he strong enough for the adventures that await him? (Good serie)
『Not perfect and too much episode but the story and making is very interesting and must be seen for fans anime.

    Great drama.』

(Blu-ray: I enjoyed the series a lot...but the picture quality has some problems...)
『The popular 1958 novel "The Kouga Ninja Scrolls" by Futaro Yamada was adapted into a manga series titled "Kga Ninp Ch~"" (Basilisk: The Koga Ninja Scrolls) in 2004-2005 by Masaki Segawa and winning the 2004 Kodansha Manga Award.

The anime series adaptation was then produced by Gonzo Studios in 2005 and is now the complete series is now available on Blu-ray courtesy of FUNimation Entertainment.

"Basilisk" is about two ninja clans at war, the Kouga and the Iga clan who have fought each other for four hundred years but a "no hostilities" pact is made to prevent the two from going into war.

We are given a glimpse of the past when the Iga clan's Princess Ogen and the Kouga clan's leader Danjou. Two people from opposing clans who were planning to get married. With the two clans living in peace, it looked as if marriage was possible until fighting began in the Iga village and survivors from the village were killed by the Kouga clan.

Needless to say, the two lovers became hated enemies but due to a "no hostilities" pact, there would be no fighting between the two clans.

Fast forward many decades later and now Ogen is the elder of the Iga Clan and Danjou of the Kouga clan. With the Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu now retiring, their is a dispute of who will be taking over as the Third Tokugawa Shogun. So, in order to decide, Tokugawa lifts the pact and the rules are each clan can select 10 of their best ninjas. Whoever is the last one standing and has complete control of the scroll will be the rightful heir.

As Ogen and Danjou have been waiting for this moment, their own offspring are in a similar predicament that they were in when they were younger. Princess Oboro of the Iga clan and Gennosuke, leader of the Kouga clan are planning to get married. With peace in their land, the two feel that their marriage can hopefully end all hostilities.

But it is too late. For Ogen and Danjou, they know that their offspring will now face what they faced but this time, the two clans will go to war. With Ogen and Danjou part of their clan's top 10 ninja, the two fight each other and are the first to go down. The Iga clan are the first to learn about the pact being lifted and while Oboro invites Gennosuke to her village, unbeknown to him is that the Iga clan are waiting to kill him.

The war begins as now Gennosuke and Oboro, two lovers are now in opposing sides of the war. Their job is to lead their clan to annihilate the other but with the two deeply in love, which is stronger...their love for each other or their clan's 400-year hatred for each other.

"Basilisk - The Complete Series" features the following 24-episodes on 3 Blu-ray discs.

    VIDEO&AUDIO:

"Basilisk - The Complete Series" is featured in 1080p High Definition (16×9). The character designs by Michinori Chiba is quite awesome. I really like the character designs of each of the characters and how the characters blend into the actual painted backgrounds. Part of the challenge that I'm sure Gonzo had to face is the number of characters featured in this series but for the most part, the animation was solid.

As for colors, colors are not as extremely vibrant compared to a series such as "Burst Angel - The Complete Series" on Blu-ray which utilize a lot of reds and oranges but its important to emphasize that "Basilisk - The Complete Series" is a TV series and not an OVA or film. The series takes place tends to put more emphasis on the character designs rather than the surroundings (since mostly everything is either Japanese homes, walls or trees and lush green scenery). Also, focusing on the action sequences and the characters abilities.

Not all is perfect with this upconvert though. There are a few times that I've noticed compression artifacts and also some discoloration (nowhere near the amount of colorful globs that I spotted on the Blu-ray release of "Samurai Champloo" but you do see it during the dark sequences) which is probably due to the DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) filtering.

As for audio, the lossless audio soundtrack is primarily the English audio track which is presented in Dolby TrueHD English 5.1. Also, included is a Dolby Digital English 2.0 (for the commentary track) and Japanese 2.0 soundtrack. I was hoping for this anime series that the audio would include a Japanese Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack but it doesn't. Fortunately, the English dub was very good and was able to get into the dialogue.

The lossless soundtrack features clear dialogue coming from the center channel as the front channels features the music and sound effects. The surround channels also feature the sound effects of swords clanging, abilities that are explosive, thunder and rainstorms, you name it...there is a good use of the surround channels in this series. As well as the use of LFE through the subwoofer for large and short rumbles.

    Subtitles are in English.

    JUDGMENT CALL:

I was absolutely captivated by "Basilisk". Each episode had meaning... were action-packed, gripping and no filler episodes that was just making the series question myself of when certain situations were going to happen. Each episode has its consequence and the fact that the series features so many characters with interesting capabilities, it definitely made my viewing of this series worthwhile. I literally was watching each episode one after the other and enjoying it.

In the end, "Basilisk - The Complete Series" gets my pick for runner up for best anime TV series on Blu-ray for 2009 (behind "Fullmetal Panic! The Second Raid"). Where "Basilisk - The Complete Series" comes up short is that the DNR filtering tends to add to the discoloration of the upconverted picture quality of the anime series and also the lack of the a lossless Japanese audio soundtrack was a bit of a bummer. The problems that were quite evident on "Samurai Champloo" is quite visible in "Basilisk", especially in disc 2 since most of the action take place during the night and the color blobs become a bit more evident.

Aside from the PQ shortcoming, fortunately, the English dub was pretty solid. For a period-based anime series, I was hoping for a lossless Japanese soundtrack but with a modern receiver, I suppose we can compensate by selecting audio on all channels.

But truthfully, the storyline of "Basilisk" is just too captivating to pass up on Blu-ray. The original DVD's didn't have great picture quality to begin with, so things do look much better on Blu-ray. I felt "Basilisk" had the best story plot-wise compared to the other anime TV series released on Blu-ray in 2009 thus far. And for those who want more of Futaro Yamada's "The Kouga Ninja Scrolls" can purchase the Blu-ray release of the live action film "Shinobi: Heart Under Blade" also available from FUNimation Entertainment.

For those wondering about the TV MA rating, the anime series is quite violent and there is quite a bit of blood and bod part dismemberment. The violence is fitting for this anime series but if you are into violent anime, then "Basilisk - The Complete Series" may not be for you.

Overall, "Basilisk - The Complete Series" is a very good release with a few shortcomings. Fans who have enjoyed anime series such as "Ninja Scroll" to action-based (and very bloody) ninja battles and many characters featured to watch and enjoy. In the end, I feel that "Basilisk - The Complete Series" is just an enjoyable and a highly entertaining anime that deserves being included in your anime on Blu-ray collection.』

    (a good series)
『This will be fairly short, as there isn't much to say. This story has been told in many forms (check out Shinobi the movie if you like the series/story) but looks beautiful on blu-ray. The colors are vibrant and very, very attractive.

Honestly for the price, it's a good buy. Don't expect the drama/story calibur of something like Rurouni Kenshin OVA's. The action is amazing however (if you love hack and slash galore). To give it 5 stars wouldn't be fair (that is a thing that should be reserved for series like death note and code geass).

Anyways, if you have doubts about it, don't. For action lovers it's great and should satisfy. For story lovers it does the job too, just nothing magnificent.

    Tootles.』

『Feudal Japan is set to bear witness to the bloody clash of titans as two fearsome ninja tribes are unleashed, one upon the other. For wretched within the Edo Castle loyalties have been severed into warring factions, as two sons struggle to inherit the title of Shogun. If this rupture goes unresolved, the Tokugawa kingdom will be torn apart. A solution must be found, one befitting a samurai family.

The Kouga and the Iga, two ninja clans with four hundred years of hostilities between them, meet at the request of Lord Ieyasu. There they learn that the peace forced upon them is to be broken by the whim of royalty, and that the outcome of this battle will determine the next Shogun. The passions of the past quickly reignite as two scrolls are sent out into the night.

Ill-fated is this event indeed, for lovers stand with hands entwined as travesty approaches on the wings of a hawk. Reared from birth as sworn enemies, Gennosuke and Oboro, each the heir of these rival clans, seek lasting peace between their peoples. But the terms have been set, and two lists seal their destinies. Two lists from which a name can only be crossed out in blood.

No mercy will be spared to the enemy.』

    (Bleach Continues to be Fantastic)
『Please ignore totally the snide jabs at this fine continuation of an amazing series in both the "official" review at the top of the page and in some of the followoing comments. They are wrong, dead wrong, to critize this addition to the series in any way. Bleach continues to be one of the finest animated series in any genre, with a full range of action, wit, character, and artistry in every aspect of its creation and production. I am not sure why some people are impatient with the whimsy and humor that is part of the series and the different nature of Japanese artistry and humour but that has always been part of the Occidental problem with seeing and accepting Oriental culture as being something totaly different and equally worthy to the Western approach.

There is nothing wrong with Bleach as it continues on its arc of story and I totally disagree that this is filler of any kind. It is part of the flow of the story, as it is evolving and if you stick with it, you will see the purpose of it all. I am way ahead of this in terms of watching the series but I won't spoil the surprises, just trust and buy this and enjoy it. It is worth every Yen - Penny or Pound spent.

(Heed my warning and save your money.)
『Lucky for me, I'm not the poor sap wasting my money on this awful monstrosity that somehow managed to take a good anime series and run it into a brick wall at mach speed. I'm really hoping you fine people will take my words into consideration and buy something substantial with your money. Please, skip this set or if you really have the urge to own it, wait until it goes down in price considerably.

As someone said earlier, this series is nothing but filler, plain and simple...and the tragic thing is, it's not even good or entertaining filler to keep you interested in the arc. You're introduced against your will to three new mod souls like the obnoxious Kon named Lirin, Kurodo, and Nova at the beginning of the season. They force our carrot topped protagonist and his usual set of friends into an insipid chase through a long series of goofy puzzles. Nova is tolerable, chosing not to remove all doubt by keeping his mouth shut most of the time, while Lirin and Kurodo display their foolish stupidity like a piece of art.
The Bounts are, plainly put, vampires who feast on the souls of humans instead of blood. It might have been something worth watching if the Bounts were even remotely compelling, which they aren't. The characters themselves are unappealing, their costume designs are simply dreadful and their "special powers" are laughable, at best. Some of the Bounts are formidable opponents, yes, but they engage Ichigo, his crew and the Soul Reapers in dull, drawn-out battles that make you wish you were spending your time doing something more interesting, like watching paint dry.
Then there's Maki Ichinose, the insufferable ex-Squad Eleven member who had a meltdown because Kenpachi killed the previous captain and he couldn't deal with it.
His sword makes rainbows. I shouldn't have to elaborate any further.

Ichigo's inner hollow only makes one brief appearance (and I mean VERY brief, maybe four minutes TOPS) and though this emergence was very exciting...sadly, it was just too little, too late. As soon as he appears, he disappears and then it's back to the same old grind that compels you to keep your finger hovering over the fast-forward button.

It's really a shame I have to give the Bount Arc such a bad review, because if you are a fan of action anime, then Bleach is your shonen cup of tea. The series as a whole does have its moments where corny humor and lethargic storyline development reign supreme, but most of the time, it saves itself from its own destruction at the last minute but throwing something out there that grasps your attention JUST enough to keep yourself watching.
The Bount Arc does not do this.
However, in spite of the fact that I couldn't careless about Kariya (the boring Bount leader) and his struggles, I will see this arc through until the end, no matter how painful the process may be. I'd suggest skipping the Bount Arc entirely and just going right to the Arrancar/Vizard arc, but unfortunately, that can't be done without creating some moderate confusion later on if you're only watching the anime.

    (The Bount Arc part 1)
『It starts off rather slowly but quickly lives up to its reputation. What can I say? I am a true fan.... love it!』

    (To the negative reviews)
『I don't understand why people complain about this product/season being overpriced. 1) They only release box sets every few months 2) it costs about the same price as a new movie released on DvD 3) Theres a lot of run time reguardless what people say. My point - They don't release these very often, the price isn't at all bad, and if you like Bleach; pay for a season and don't like it, what kind of fan is that?』
『Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 11/03/2009 Run time: 425 minutes』
『The fourth season of the hit fantasy-adventureBleachbegins the first story arc not based on Tite Kubo's original manga. After returning home from their battles in the Seireitei, Ichigo and his friends Chad, Orihime, and Ishida find themselves tormented by Lirin, Kurodo, and Nova, three nasty, game-playing spirits. As the plot begins to thicken, Urahara tells Ichigo he must grow stronger to face the challenges that await him. Ichigo and the gang, plus Rukia, Renji, Kon, and the three new spirits (now housed in stuffed animals), face off against the Bounts, deathless vampirelike creatures who feed off human souls. Kyoraku, their staggeringly powerful leader, plans to use Ishida's Quincy powers to reach the Hueco Mundo, the realm of the Hollows, for some nefarious purpose. Ichigo charges in to aid Ishida, who lost his magical abilities during the conflicts in the Soul Society, and the usual swordplay and slapstick ensue. Ichigo and his friends remain as entertaining as ever and Noriyuki Abe directs with his customary panache, but season 4 ofBleachlacks much of the excitement and humor of the previous adventures. The first story lines pitted an increasingly formidable Ichigo against monstrous Hollows and the flamboyant captains and lieutenants of the Soul Society. The new continuity spends too much time on the less-interesting Ishida, the effortfully comic Kon, and the rather obnoxious new characters.Bleachfans will want to add this set to their collections, but even hard-coreotakuwill notice the drop in quality. (addicting)
『I gave this boxset 4 stars because the series starts slow and stays realitivly slow throughout. The story gets very extensive and overall I would give the show 5 stars but like most long term series with the kind of depth Bleach has, it just takes time to develop all the characters, which Bleach continues to do all time. I'm not sure if the series or development of new characters will ever end. It is a MUST SEE for newcomers to the show but in my opinion not the best episodes they've had but some really good ones.

    (anime maniac)
『I have enjoyed anime for a long time and Bleach has been a long time favorite. So when the opportunity came to aquire the boxed set of the 1st season I jumped on it. I completely enjoyed it, and have purchased the other seasons and intend to purchase the 4th season very soon. Bleach forever!!!』

    (Great anime with non-stop action&laughs)
『When I first viewed Bleach I was kinda skeptical, however; After viewing the first 7 episodes I was hooked. Its nonstop action, supernatural element, and humor really grew on me. Bleach is about a high school student named Ichigo with a sort of sixth sense, enabling him to see and speak to the deceased. While thats all fine and dandy, labeling him somewhat of a psychic, the real ordeal begins with his encounter with a shinigami named Rukia. The first 20 or so episodes are mainly character and plot development leading to what is deemed as the soul society story arc. Bleach without a doubt has some of the most interesting characters that you'll either love or hate. Its humor is top notch and fits within the right moments and moods. With that said, this series isn't without its downside, let me explain:

First: the recaps at the beginning of every episode is way too long. Giving you that feeling that a huge chunk of valuable minutes per episodes has been used on recaps alone, kinda makes you wonder if the creators really believe that its audience is in a constant state of amnesia.

Second: As the series progresses, mainly during the Hueco Mundo story arc, you'll notice that the flow of the story is abruptly disrupted to introduce its viewer to the series unrelated (story wise) fillers, this is quite annoying. While the fillers themselves are not bad (unlike Naruto), the way they are implemented into the series itself is the problem.

Third: This series seem to suffer from what I call the GI JOE syndrome (Talking about the 80's cartoon series), which means that as many slashing and critical blows dealt, none seem to die, with the exception of villians&non-essential characters of course. You could probably play this off as, "Well it is an anime." or "They are shinigami's." Yet at key moments, which I deem heart felt moments, the emotional impact loses its meaning or credibility.

Despite those flaws, it's still a great anime with some great characters. Unlike this series counterpart, Naruto, the fillers themselves are well done and well written. This series plot, its enemies, its heroes, its side characters, and its comedy are all well done and blend together to make it a wonderful viewing experience. Its not for everyone, but a good choice for any anime fan to add to their collection.』

    (Bleach Seasons 1, 2 and 3 = A great story arc)
『I was looking around for a good anime and was asking friends what was good. They said either Full Metal Alchemist or Bleach. I researched both and came to a decision to look into Bleach due to the supernatural and samurai fantasy fiction I like, plus the plot and imagination is just astounding. Pretty much, my friends were right about Bleach.

Seeing Im able to do only one review, Im going to include the other 2 seasons of Bleach as well. Warning: I am just giving you a one sentence summary for each season, so read ahead at your own risk.

The first season is amazing and shows pretty much what the show is about. The second season shows Ichigo and his friends arriving in the spirit realm on the way to rescue Rukia from the Soul Society and fight the Soul Reaper captains along the way. And finally, season 3 draws down to who ordered the execution of Rukia, which will be a twist you will not believe; as well as the amazing fights that Ichigo will have as well some of the Soul Reaper Captains.

The way I see it, each episode I watched, the show was getting better each disc. Bleach is one of those animes that gets better each time you watch a new episode, to be honest; it is very rare to find a good show that gets you interested these days. I bought it on trust and instinct, and both of those turned out to be good. I highly recommend this anime for anyone just starting out or beginning to discover anime. Besides, all the Bleach dvds are original and uncut, do not waste time buying the separate little discs; get it all in the box sets on Amazon for cheap.』

Episodes 1 - 20 now available in one box set!

For as long as he can remember, Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see ghosts. But when he meets Rukia, a Soul Reaper who battles evil spirits known as Hollows, he finds his life is changed forever. Now, with a newfound wealth of spiritual energy, Ichigo discovers his true calling: to protect the living and the dead from evil. And when he vows to defend Rukia from the ruthless justice of the Soul Society, he and his friends must cross over and do battle in the spirit world...

    (The best)
『I now have all 8 seasons and I love them they are interesting and done very well. Before I discovered this show on Adult swim I had no idea it existed but once I did I couldn't get enough the story sucks you in. I never cared for anime I always felt the artistry and writing was way to lame and childish but this anime actually is very good and at least the characters don't look like they all stuck their heads in an electric socket and their eyes aren't all to big for their heads ect. I tried to watch Naruto once and once was enough I assure you the story was silly and I didn't understand any of the motivations. I like Bleach to but it can be hard to follow at times with way to many variations on the characters I finally can understand it now that I saw the first season up until then it was to confusing Inuyasha however I saw the first time was like episode 80 or something and I could follow it after two shows and figure what was going on so Inuyasha is my favorite and I even let my young nephew watch it he loves it I won't let him watch Bleach however he may be 9 but even I'm not stupid enough to let him watch a show so totally violent and confusing that I have to explain it all to him I just explained a few things about Inuyasha and he got it it's mainly about the good guys and the bad guys and the ones your never sure about kind of like ha ha real life.』

(All You Could Hope For And Then Some!)
『I'm not a kid. I'm well-seasoned and well-read, so I think I can speak from a more adult point of view.

This series rocks! Some otaku (generally a pejorative term) have panned the series based on what is no doubt a superficial assessment. I have read the manga, seen all the episodes (to date) and seen all four of the movies. I also have all the Japanese versions of the manga, all the art books, and a little known book on the psychology of InuYasha. I can say, without fear of contradiction, that this is a WONDERFULLY written series that kids would certainly enjoy. I think the monsters may be a bit much for the 6 and younger set, but that may well be my only caution. Those who denegrate it, obviously weren't really paying attention to the story. And it sure does have one.

The story of InuYasha is a complicated tale that includes trial and tragedy, betrayal, and lost love. It is even on some levels, a deeply moving story that features a detailed history, complex and interwoven plot, and engaging and charismatic characters.

There are areas in both the manga and the anime where the story lags somewhat, but in my estimated opinion, they are not that much of a problem. There is plenty of action, humor, and imagery to keep a kid thoroughly enthralled. Best of all, just when I think I've grown weary of it; the moment I catch a few old episodes, I fall in love with it all over again.

To the curmudgeons of anime, I'd say move along to your giant robots. This one is for those of us who enjoy a good fantasy romp with characters that can become like friends.』

(Came in good time, and in good condition.)
『For fans of the show, and for those who read the manga this box set is the completion of a major piece of literary work, as the book contains over 600 chapters, and over 50 volumes. I would love to see the anime finish up but who knows what will happen. I liked the interviews with both the Japanese voice actors, and the English ones as well.』

『I really like this anime. It is cute, funny, and has good action. This product came to me in great condition...new,pre-packaged and without damage. However, when opened, found that a couple of the discs were already scratched.I was hoping it would still work fine, because they were not that bad. After a few episodes in, my XBOX 360 couldn't read the disc, and it kept messing up.My wish to you is that you don't have the same bad luck that I did.』

    (What Memories (NO SPOILERS!!!))
『First off, can anyone please tell me why this season has a 4.5 ratings while the rest of the DB season have 5 stars!? This is ana amazing season!!
Wow, it has been almost a year since I watched DB!!! I love this so much! Wow. Trust me, this season of DB&all other DB is outstanding and great. It is not as much impact as DBZ/GT. If your more into the impact then this is not really for you, if you want to know the origin&the little other details then this is awesome for you!

-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!
Goku is the one who always leads everyone the correct way, He is the savior of the world! (Symbolic to God leading us the right way&being our Savior!)

Goku trains&helps his friends to become good fighters (Symbolic to God "training" us in His Word)

Goku trusts in his friends knowing they will do the right thing. (Symbolic to God trusting that His true followers will obey Him&go His way)

Goku always shows love&mercy even to his enemies&evil people. (Symbolic to God showing all us people, whom have broken His Perfect Law -The Ten Commandments- and yet He still gives us Mercy to flee from sin&follow Him)

Goku believes anyone can change their life from bad, to good. (Symbolic to fleeing from our sins&following the Will of God)

Goku was like a father, always protecting people from evil (Symbolic to how God protects us from evil&when the storms comes, He's still with us)

Everytime it seems hopeless&like evil will prevail&there is no way out, Goku is always there to help! (Symbolic to no matter how strong the temptation or urge is, God always provides a way out for us because He is with us)

When the Saiyans or other fighters feel like there is no hope, they go into a new level of strength (Symbolic to when you are weakest you are strongest)

Like with us when we feel we can't resist the temptation or do the Will of God, we still press on and reach a new level or strength.....haha, like a Spiritual Super Saiyan, being much stronger into&with God then we were before.

When the fighters are fighting&they feel there is no hope, someone else usually comes to the aid (Symbolic to God will never leave us&He always provides help)

DBZ is not only a great show but I look at it through a Christian sense, look at it as a Christian sense, it's symbolic, it'll make it 10x better! I know it did for me!』

    (Find That Dragon Ball)
『Honestly, there's not much I can say about this set except for this: Dragon Ball is now available in it's original, uncut form, complete with the Japanese audio (which is, sadly, muddled as hell) and faithfully translated dialogue. A classic of shonen comedy that sets the stage for the truly excellent, genre-defining epic that is "Dragon Ball Z", "Dragon Ball" is something that can simply not be missed. No matter what kind of fan you are, there is something in this show for you, guaranteed. I give this my highest recommendations.』
『The greatest adventure of all time begins now! pGoku may be small, but this fearless warrior packs a punch as powerful as any on the planet. Left alone after his grandfather’s death, this unusual boy is happy to spend his days hunting and eating and eating some more. But everything changes on the day he meets Bulma – a bossy, blue-haired beauty with boys on the brain. Together, they set out to track down the seven magic Dragon Balls and make the wish that will change their lives forever.

And that’s just the beginning! Goku also spends some time on Turtle Island where he and Krillin study martial arts under the legendary Master Roshi. The old hermit may not look like much, but if his new pupils can find him a woman, he’ll make sure they’re ready to rumble at the upcoming World MartialArts Tournament!

Season One of Dragon Ball is a must-have for everyone from the die-hard fan to the next generation of collectors.』
『In 1986, the animated adaptation of Akira Toriyama's mangaDragon Balldebuted on Japanese television, launching one of the most popular franchises in anime history.Dragon Ballintroduced a special mixture of male bonding, rigorous training, martial arts fighting, slapstick comedy, and sci-fi action that scored a huge hit with boys and led to the follow-upsDragon Ball ZandDragon Ball GT--and numerous imitators. A small boy from another planet, Goku commands super-human strength, but he was raised in the remote mountains by an old man and he knows little of the world. Goku meets Bulma, who's trying to assemble the seven magical Dragon Balls so she can wish for a boyfriend. The naive boy and the hot-tempered girl join forces, then form a quarrelsome alliance with Oolong, the shape-shifting pig, and Yamcha, a dashing bandit with a metamorphic familiar, Puar. The heroes compete for the Dragon Balls against the pint-sized Emperor Pilaf (who wants to rule the world). After defeating Pilaf, Goku goes to study martial arts with Master Roshi, a lecherous but extraordinarily skilled old man. Goku and fellow student Krillin develop formidable powers that they use in the World Martial Arts Tournament. These episodes set the pattern forDragon Balland numerous other series: humans and creatures of all description train endlessly, then gather to pound the ramen out of each other before an audience. Naturally, the hero wins in an extended final match. The first adventures are lighter in tone and more broadly comic than the beginning of the darker Red Ribbon Saga. For years, the first13 episodes ofDragon Ballwere only available in the U.S. in the heavily edited setSaga of Goku, to the chagrin of the fans. Following their successful release of the completeDragon Ball ZandDragon Ball GT, Funimation is presentingDragon Balluncut and digitally restored. The series probably looks better now than it did when it premiered, as it was reportedly filmed in 16mm. Note: The sight of the prepubescent Goku and Krillin running around naked doesn't bother Japanese audiences. (Pokemon Season 1)
『This is a great three disc dvd collection that contains the first twenty six episodes of the show. It is a high quality set that has three normal sized dvd cases in a cardboard container. I think the first season of Pokemon was the best and I highly recomend this set!』

    (Awsome)
『Took a few days to get but was brand new and just what I wanted.』

    (Very happy with purchase.)
『I purchased the Pokemon DVD set for my daughter for Christmas. She has been very pleased with it. Quality merchandise. The shipping was very quick especially considering the fact that I ordered it very close to Christmas.』

    (Awesome Pokemon adventures return)
『I got this box set because I played pokemon ever since I was 4 or 5. I still play and I watch the diamond and pearl whenever it comes on. I missed the first few (5) seasons of pokemon on tv, so I started a collection of dvds(this being the first.) The episodes are great but the menu lacks special features and there is no japenese track. I always have to keep the remote in my hand because the theme song comes on twice an episode (and if I want to skip through the team rocket intro that appears in every episode.) The cases of the three dvds feel very flimsy and breakable. The outside cardboard is nice though and you dont get a dvd for its case so thats nothing to complain about. Seeing the episodes in order was great and if you're a fan of pokemon I suggest that you go to walmart, or any other store, and get these episodes today.』

    (Pokemon Season 1 box set)
『Ahhh Pokemon...brings me back to the good old days of my youth. It was very nostalgic to watch Ash begin his adventure through the world of Pokemon. The only downside is that there are two more box sets that I need to get. This is a must for anyone who was or still is a fan of the classic Pokemon.』
『Enjoy the Pokémon story from the beginning! Meet our hero, Ash, in his hometown of Pallet Town where boys and girls are encouraged to begin their Pokémon journeys! Join the Indigo League in this special box set of 26 episodes from Season 1 of Pokémon!』
Pokémonscored an immediate hit when it debuted on American TV in 1995: Adapted from a Gameboy game created by Satoshi Sajiri, the diminutive "pocket monsters" spawned a multibillion dollar franchise on both sides of the Pacific. The initial mania died down after a few years, but the games and the animated series and features have remained popular. Although it's unabashedly product-based and overly cute at times,Pokémonremains an agreeable children's entertainment that stresses friendship, perseverance, and good sportsmanship. The first broadcast season introduces the main characters and follows them through first part of the game in its original Red and Blue versions. AspiringPokémontrainer Ash Ketchum must establish a bond with Pikachu, the ultra-cute, but initially recalcitrant "electric mouse." He leaves his home in Pallet Town and quickly befriends fellow-trainers Misty and Brock. As the trio wanders through forests and towns, Ash begins collectingPokémonand fighting other trainers. (The fights are very tame:Pokémonfaint when they're exhausted, but are never injured or killed.) The three friends also outwit inept comic villains of Team Rocket, Jesse, James, and Meowth. Ash gradually matures through his experiences: In episode 20, he learns self-sacrifice when he allows Butterfree, the firstPokémonhe caught and trained, to find a mate and depart for their nesting grounds. The original motto,Pokémon Getto Daze!(Let's GetPokémon!) became "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" and many fans are still trying to do just that, although the initial number of 151Pokémon, has more than tripled over the years. (Dragonball GT Season 1 (Black Star Dragonballs&Baby sagas))
『I have watched GT season 1 and it is okay to good. It's a pity that Gohan has to be a bit boring and wearing a suit (thanks to his mother's influence when he was a child)&Chi Chi has changed alot from keeping her sons away from danger to supporting them to go into outer space. Master Roshi must be atleast 100 years old in GT! After learning of the Tuffles and the Saiyans from King Kai from DBZ Season 1, I thought they both lived on the same planet and renamed it Planet Vegeta when the Tuffles were wiped out.
I certainly like the Baby saga especially when Baby Gohan fights Vegeta and grinds Vegeta's face into the road. There are a few good family moments like when Vegeta drives Bulla shopping and when Vegeta wants others to notice he shaved his moustache off.
It is good to see Vegeta has dropped the tough, arrogant attitude and become alot calmer and not often he flies into a rage. Piccolo doesn't get much of a part and it is sad to see Majin Buu go. I think it is a good way to have Buu merge with Uub instead of getting rid of Buu completely. Majin Buu's high pitched voice and innocent child like personality will be missed.
Trunks&Goten's character designs look different to the ones seen in the DBZ episode "Granddaughter Pan". They look&act a bit goofy sometimes. Vegeta is another character who looks different, in a bad way.

In the booklet, why isn't Goten,Gohan&Vegeta in the Hero section. They should of been there!

But the Black Star dragon ball saga is probably the dullest saga of all but the story of Planet Luud does fit in with the Planet M2 and Baby episodes. Maybe the trio could have gone to one of Freiza's old home planets that he took over before he was killed and fought the army that was still there to recover the dragonball. I did like the fight between Goku and General Rilldo. Also I liked General Rilldo as a character. Also there is a new type of Ginyu Force on Planet M2. They are sadly robots and not aliens but they call themselves the Sigma Force.
I think having SS4 Goku on the front cover shot is a good idea even though this transformation appears in the last few seconds of the last episode of Season 1. Other characters who would have been good to have on the front are Pan or Majuub.

It is a great idea that they fitted the 34 episodes onto 5 discs. They should have made that rule for some of the DBZ seasons which were under 30 episodes.
The thing with GT is that they only made 64 episodes and most storylines are resolved in a few episodes. Whereas in DBZ most storylines are dragged out for 15 to 20 episodes.
When you watch GT, you can't help thinking that something is missing.』

『DBGT is still one of the best fighting animes out there
sure the characters dont look much the same but overall is a great show still』

(New otaku (anime loving freaks) need not apply.)
『For any dragonball fan or collecter, this series is a must. However, if youre not into anime, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUUT! Saddly enough there are much much MUCH better animes out there then this one so dont ruin the genre for yoursele before you get to the good stuff.』

    (DBZ isn't over yet...)
『GT is no where near as bad as some fans are saying. All the characters have basically remained the same, except Piccolo recieves barely any screen time if any really. Disappointing to say the least. The first two disc I admitt don't inspire much interest with unimpressive characters such as Ludd and Lord Don Chi. However, once General Rildo and Dr. Myuu arrive the story picks up the pace and actually gets interesting. There are great battles and Baby is one bad ass villan in himself.』
『After enduring trials that would have crushed any other soul, Goku is now faced with the most important journey of his life. The Dragon Balls have been scattered to the ends of creation! The universe is dense with danger and the Saiyan hero must plunge head first into the peril, for if the seven magic relics of Shenron are not gathered within a year s time, Earth will meet with final catastrophe.
Alongside his friends, Pan and Trunks, Goku will struggle against the most formidable evils yet, be they savage beast with the power to crumble mountains, false gods intent on sacrificing those who believe, or cruel manipulators of science who seek to strip the good of all power. The countdown to oblivion has begun... And before the clock strikes eternal midnight, the most incredible menace to ever threaten existence will rise!

Stills fromDragon Ball GT: Season One(Click for larger image)

Dragon Ball GT(1996), the third animated series based on Akira Toriyama's manga, takes place ten years after the final episode ofDragon Ball Z. Things have changed: Trunks is the president of the Capsule Corporation; Gohan has married Videl. Goku's old enemy Pilaf invades the Celestial Realm to seize the ultra-powerful Black Dragon Balls, but he messes up his wish and asks that Goku be reduced to a child. King Kai warns that the Black Dragon Balls, which have scattered among the stars, must be returned to Earth within a year or the planet will explode. Goku and Trunks set off to find them, accompanied by Pan, Gohan's obnoxious daughter. After fighting a number of underlings, the trio finally meets the main villain of the series: Baby, the last survivor of the Tuffle (originally Tsufrulian) race. A nasty creature with a head like a crescent moon, Baby can infiltrate the bodies of others and absorb their energy. He wants to acquire the power of the Saiyans and subjugate the galaxy. Quite a number of battles ensue, and Goku has to have his tail restored to give him the power to tackle Baby. The filmmakers undercut their efforts to create excitement by being silly. Buu and Uub reunite to form Majuub, but he fights by turning his foes into chocolate. The story also lacks originality: when Trunks is caught in a metal trap by General Rilldo, it's too obviously copied from Han Solo's emprisonment in the block of carbonite. BothDragon BallandDragon Ball Zwere boys' clubs: Goku and the Z-fighters trained together, fought common enemies and sought to become the strongest. Creating a major role for a girl in the series was a worthwhile idea, but the filmmakers make too Pan whiny and fussy to fit into the rough and tumble world. The weakest entry in theDragon Ballsaga,GTonly ran for 64 episodes. (Rated TV PG, suitable for ages 8 and up: violence, violence against women, alcohol use, nudity)--Charles Solomon
