(EXCELLENT but not if you also have the Produce Savers) 『I absolutely LOVE these Rubbermaid containers and the Produce Savers. However, having both of them in my cupboard has turned into quite a mess. The lids fit on both the regular and produce containers BUT they do not seal! I can't tell the difference between the produce save bowl and the regular bowls! I had leftover soup in a produce saver base (accidentally) with a regular rubbermaid lid. It appeared to be a tight seal but as soon as I picked it up and it sloshed around on my way to the fridge my soup spilled all over! If the Produce Saver base was also green like the lids that would be make this a 5 star set.』

It closes the sides of the My K-cup to allow for more mixing (turbulence) of the coffee, which is essential for extracting full flavor.
Even better, though is My-Kap - Reuse Your Keurig K-Cups (1 Clear, 1 Red, 1 Green), but it requires a little more careful handling as it reuses an actual K-cup and its sealed paper filter inside.

(Be Aware the cord is very short) 『Just got this item after reading all the positive reviews. None of the reviews that I read alerted me to the miserably short cord. It would work fine for an outlet behind it on a counter. But if you have to reach further, forget it. It won't reach an outlet on the front of our kitchen island, even with the pot right up against the counter's front edge. So you need to resort to an ugly extension cord. The Kitchenaid has a nice long 4 foot cord, with storage underneath, but it has many negative reviews about cracking pots. One other negative: Many reviews highlight the positives of the locking lid, but few note how clumsy the clips are when you don't want to use them, and just wish they would get out of the way. As one review noted, a modest design change in the handles would have allowed the clips to drop safely out of the way of hands and pot-holders. Odd that Hamilton Beach would let minor design flaws cheapen a good product, especially since the competition costs far more!!』
(Possibly a defective model but....) 『I think that my model might be defective and I am returning it but thought I would leave a review anyway. I used this product twice and used the programmable function. Both times I tried to cook on low for 8-10 hours. It would switch itself back to manual mode High. I tried to use the manual mode on low and it would switch itself to high. I read the other review prior to buying this on and a few of the others had the same complaint that it would switch itself to high or warm. I will be ordering another brand. In general though it did a great job cooking the 2 dishes that I prepared, but on high....thankfully I was home both days I used to, otherwise I would have had seriously overcooked food.』
(Great Product) 『We have used the Hamilton Beach Set 'n Forget Programmable Slow Cooker now for a month and can't imagine not having it now. We replaced a ancient Rival that worked fine but looked it's age and was a pain to clean and store. The programmable controller on the Set 'n Forget is very easy to operate and the horizontal oval design lets you lay a chicken or roast flat. The exterior finish, lid and removable pot are easy to clean. We have never had a programming issue or unknown failure to cook as stated in another review although we haven't experienced an extended power failure while cooking. We have had a power blip or two which didn't cause a loss of programming. The unit confirms that it is cooking immediately after you enter your program. The low temp "keep warm" feature is very nice. I hope it lasts as long as the Rival.』

Then I read a bunch of reviews about badly packed and broken sets having been delivered, and got worried that I was going to receive three boxes of broken pieces!
Today all three sets arrived, completely intact and undamaged. Each set was packed in a strong box with custom-designed cardboard internal packing materials that kept the dishes from rattling around. That strong (reinforced) cardboard carton was packed inside an outer cardboard box, and the modest amount of extra space filled with those inflated air cushions. Usually I wouldn't comment on the packaging when writing a product review, but there were enough negative reports about breakage that I wanted to mention that my experience was quite positive in that respect.
As to Corelle, either you like it or you don't. I do, but this is my first time to go all out and replace my main dishes with Corelle ones. I've had a few Corelle dishes that are still going strong after several years, and I like them so much I decided to get rid of my other dishes when I saw a great price on these sets here at amazon. I knew already from reading these reviews, that the mugs are stoneware and not the same material as the rest of the stuff, so I wasn't surprised. The mugs aren't awful, but I just don't care for them nor do I need them. I'm delighted to get these sets at a good price, and to pass my old set of dishes on to a neighbor's kid who can use them.』

I also got the refillable My k cup so I can brew my favorite bean coffee and save some $$$. I noticed on the manufacturers web site some consistent comments about problems with the My K cup spewing water outside of the filter and weak coffee which I noticed as well. However in reading the customer solutions, the problem is easily remedied. First of the the soft light grey gasket you see over the insertion needle can be slid down some so that you get a better seal. Secondly a tea drinking customer commented that she wets down the loose tea in her k cup before brewing. By doing this, it gives the tea, or in my case the coffee grounds a chance to hydrated up a little and I get a darker more satisfying flavor from my ground coffee into my cup. The k-cups are great for convenience and when you warranty the unit online, Keurig will give you two free boxes of K-cup coffee when you order four boxes! Nice! Also by joining their coffee club, you get a 10% discount on all k cups orders. So I basically got four 24 pack box of coffee for the price of two and free shipping too. My order came to only $25 for 96 k cups!』

I bought these sets because I was tired of my huge collection of plastic storage containers. I wanted to use them for freezer to oven/microwave use. Unfortunately, all of the lids on the round containers did not fit. I was not able to even force on a single one of the round lids. The rectangular lids are fine and tight. Pyrex will not help take care of the problem, so Amazon customer service, after several emails back and forth,is taking care of it. I read the reviews for this item, and for other sets in this line, and though the problem with the lids was mentioned, it seemed to be in a small minority. Until I get replacements, the round containers make nice soup bowls! When I use the items to freeze portions, there is little frost when freezing for up to 2 weeks. I usually wrap the containers in plastic for longer storage. Defrost overnight in the fridge, then reheat in oven or microwave. The glass containers perform great, with nice uniform heating. Just a warning-microwaving is often quicker than you might think, and the container is very hot. When storing same size pieces, I must put paper towels in between, because by nesting, the containers tend to get stuck together. It is incredibly easy to use, both the foil opener and the corkscrew. We consistently get compliments for it, and at least 6 friends and family members have purchased this exact model after seeing it work at our house. I FULLY recommend this to anyone: the charge lasts a long time, its far quieter than I expected, and is quick and easy to use. Takes about 6 seconds to take the cork off (by simply holding one direction of the button), and about the same to remove the cork from the opener (by holding the other). I plan on purchasing at least 2 more this year to give as gifts.
The only reason someone should buy an automatic opener other than this one is if you buy one of the expensive vacuum removers, if you don't want to poke the corkscrew hole in the cork (for hobbies/re-use/etc). Unless you have that specific need, buy this opener. After re-reading this part, I should note that this opener doesn't break the cork into pieces or anything, it just inserts the corkscrew into one end of the cork in order to pull it out. (Excellent Bottle Opener!) 『I bought two of these wine bottle openers for gifts two years ago. One went to my parents, and one to my husband. We've used it probably 1-2 times weekly since then and have NEVER had a problem with it. It pulls out natural corks and plastic corks equally well. It's so easy to use! I remember that we decided we had to open a bottle of wine right after DH unwrapped his gift. It worked so smoothly and I was so shocked, that I immediately dug through a drawer until I found my Pampered Chef wine bottle opener and promptly threw it in the garbage. My parents love theirs too. Unlike us, they don't keep it on the charger, but they can go several months between charges. (They're probably more like every-other-week wine drinkers.)
