I love them both! They are so similar that it really doesn't matter to me which I'm using. They clean up extremely well with Barkeeper's Friend, and I sometimes use a Scotch Brite pad too, but I have found that it does leave a little bit of light scratching on the pans. That doesn't bother me, because I don't display my pans. They go in the cabinets and cupboards and I cook with them every day. This 1 1/2-quart size pan is so perfect for ALL of my vegetables! I love it so much I bought 2 of this size. The cookware is also extremely beautiful (both of these brands). I'm really thrilled with my purchases and am so glad I decided to make the switch. I will say that I prefer the see-through glass lids of the Calphalon over the stainless steel ones of the Cuisinart. The glass lids allow me to be able to keep the lids on more during the cooking time.』
(great!) 『We bought this to use in our new dishwasher, since our old cooking pan was not entirely stainless steel and was being pitted. This pan, which has been used everyday and washed every night in the dishwasher, still looks brand new and has been really lovely to cook with. My only little whine is that it is a bit heavy-- or at least heavier than the old ones. But it cooks quickly and cleanly. I am planning on getting more as our budget allows.』
(Don't Like the 4-quart Version) 『When I renovated my kitchen last year, I upgraded my cookware. I had some Cuisinart Everyday Pans I liked a lot, so after researching, I went with saucepans in the multiclad pro line. I have the 2-quart, 3-quart, and 4-quart. The 2 and 3 quart are fine and work as well as I expected them to. But I've been very unhappy with the 4-qt. I use it primarily for boiling potatoes and such, for marinara sauce, and for reheating soups for dinner. There are two specific things I don't like. First, when boiling water, even with the lid on, I find that this particular pot is slow to come to the boil. And I find that if I do not have the lid on, it seems to never come to the boil. I do not have this problem with my Calphalon Tri-Ply 8-quart stockpot. That one comes to the boil in mere minutes. The Cuisinart 4-quart is also very slow to heat thick soups. It seems like to takes forever just to simmer.
But the worst thing, and the reason I have decided to replace this pot after having it only about a year, is that it has no helper handle. When I wanted to pour out some marinara sauce the other night onto my pasta, I found it exceedingly heavy to hold and turn over with just one hand and it almost slipped out of my right hand due to the weight and nearly collided with the left forearm, which would have resulted in a nasty burn. Luckily, I was able to maneuver the pot back onto the burner before it hit my arm. Another time, when I was pouring out a pot of cooked potatoes into the collander in the sink, I had to tightly hold the smooth side of the pot opposite the handle with a pot holder, which was very awkward and unstable.
A 4-quart pot full of liquid and food is very heavy, at least for a small person like myself. It really needs to have a helper handle, especially at this price. I should have realized it because this pot had replaced a cheap stainless-steel pot that was also about 4 quarts that had two short handles on either side. A much-better design. Although the pot had outlived its useful life.
So, to ward off any other potential disasters with this pot, I have decided to replace it after less than a year with the new All Clad d5 4-quart soup pot, which has the two loop handles on either side. And it was only about $12 more than the Cuisinart pot at Williams Sonoma.』
(Great performing pan) 『I have now purchased three sauce pans and the 5 qt sauté pan from this line. I also have a 4 qt All Clad sauce pan and I have to say that the performance is comparable to the All Clad. During the holidays I made several batches of candy (one of the jobs that I think is a real test of a sauce pan) and it performed even better than I expected. In 6 batches of candy (some heated to hard ball and some to soft boil stage) there was not even a hint of scorching due to hot spots. The lack of hot spots means that they are much more forgiving than a lighter less well constructed pan. The same holds true when reducing sauces and simmering. If you area home cook that is looking for a good combination of price, performance and appearance I highly recommend this cookware.』
(Best little saucepan I've ever owned) 『Incredible buy! Superior heat distribution. When liquids start to boil the ENTIRE volume boils at once. No pockets of hot and cold. Great weight, ergonomically designed, well-balanced. Just a super product.』 『Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless cookware features professional triple-ply stainless construction.
