(Did Rowan Really Have to Hit Chamberlain -- Twice?)

(Chamberlain's Knight is an awesome read!)
I really wanted to love this book. Granted, Skyler Grey did a great job with her writing and storytelling, but I could not get past the fact that the male lead, a bitter knight named Rowan, backhanded the female lead, Chamberlain, TWICE in the story. The first time he backhanded her, she fell to the ground and "tasted blood in her mouth." No matter how bitter or angry any male lead is in a book, the fact that a man would physically control a woman using violence shows that he is capable of continuous violence toward women (regardless if he loves them). The saying goes, "If a man hits you once, he will hit you again." I lost complete respect for Rowan and did not find him appealing at all. Regardless if his character is portrayed as bitter and angry at life, the author could have found other ways to convey that without involving physical abuse toward the woman he supposedly has feelings for.

I am by no means a prude when reading books - as my favorites include J.R. Ward,Christine Feehan,Laurell K. Hamilton, and the list goes on - but when a man has no control over hitting a woman to dominate her he isn't really worth getting to know. In addition, during the medieval times I'm sure men often beat their women, but when reading a romance novel or historical fiction, do we really need to see our heroes beating on the female protagonist?

I can't recommend this book, as it sends the message that even if a man hits you, he still has feelings for you, and he can't be that bad of a guy. No real man should ever hit a woman, and it did not belong in this book.

I received Skyler Grey's Chamberlain's Knight this morning and could not put it down until I finished it! It is an enchanting story. I laughed, I cried, I had every emotion possible. Skyler's story line in Chamberlain's Knight is awesome. I loved everything about it! I consider it a must read, for anyone that loves paranormal romance, like me! LOL or for that matter simply romance, not to mention sensuality, galore. Skyler pulls you in right away, and keeps you there...not a boring chapter anywhere! I applaud...Skyer Grey!
High profile model, Chamberlain De Larah, sails off on a much-needed vacation. A freak storm on the high seas sends her back in time where she becomes involved with a hauntingly familiar noble, a sorceress hell-bent on revenge, and one very sexy knight who's unknowingly caught in the middle. Chamberlain crosses paths with Rowan Blackthorn, loyal knight to the king-both unaware of her ties to his father's sworn enemy. Can the handsome knight's growing affection for the lovely maiden soften his heart or will Chamberlain become a pawn in Rowan's revenge against a man she barely knows?

(Civil War time travel)

(A sweet love story.)
This is the first time travel book I've read having to do with the
Civil War era. In fact, this is my first Civil War era romance I've ever read.

It wasn't a book with a lot of humor, and I didn't go into reading it expecting any. The plot showed a great deal about the lives of
confederate soldiers at that time, especially wounded&dying ones.

Jacob&Savannah were a great couple. She came from 1996 into
1862, and he is a confederate doctor in that time. They fall in
love, but not without many pitfalls. Savannah thinks she is fulfilling her destiny by helping the wounded soldiers, but before the book is out, she finally realizes that Jacob is her
destiny.

Savannah sincerely wants to help the soldiers, but in order to
do so, she needs plenty of medicines. The problem was, she was
not allowed (this is where it gets a bit complicated) by her
time-travel aide, to bring back anything that wasn't already
being used in that time. For instance, aspirin, though not
available in the United States at that time, was available in
Europe, therefore, it was a medicine that her time-travel agent
would allow her to use. There was a catch here -- Mathilda
(the time-travel helper) required that Savannah bring her certain
historically-valuable items she could sell in her antique store in 1996, in exchange for these medicines (this is how Savannah
gets these medicines without ever going back to 1996).

Also, there is a villain, in the form of her ex-fiance's ancestor. His name is Jordan, and she is attracted to him until she realizes he is the same sort of schmuck her ex-fiance was
in 1996. Since Jordan dies at the end of the book, I can only
come to the conclusion that the ex-fiance was never born in the
the future. Jordan tried to use Savannah for his purposes&
died trying for his efforts.

On a 1-10 scale, I would give the book at least a 9. It was
very good. I see on Amazon where a "Vickie Presley" has a book,
and I am wondering if it is the same author. If so, I might be
tempted to check it out sometime. Victoria Presley should definitely write more books, especially time travels.

4 to 4 1/2 stars.

I enjoyed "Traded Secrets" because the characters were so likable. Savannah is an intelligent and strong female character, I found myself saying "You go girl." several times when she stood up for herself. Jacob is an unusual male character, but pleasantly so. He is willing to let go of past heartaches and to let a woman teach him new&important advances in medicine. These two were such a pleasant surprise for me. After reading so many romance novels with weak, simpering female characters who get themselves into one scrape after another until some man saves them, Savannah was a breath of fresh air.
Pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor after an unhappy love affair, Savannah Stuart visits an antique shop and is transported back in time to a Confederate hospital, where she enters a relationship with Dr. Jacob Cross.

(good ideas, bad executioin)

(a fascinating and uplifting read)

(Bravo)
This book seriously needs a good editor. The idea is fine - a little different and interesting. The writing, however, is choppy and convoluted. I think that with more work the author's future books have possibilities, but get this one from the library if it's available, rather than buying it.
a fascinating and uplifting story about a young girl who struggles to find her self-confidence and ability to open her heart to others in order to find true love. A romance story with a message, a step back in time story where you can simply be lost in the enjoyment of life's blessings.

A first time author with a wonderful ability to capture your imagination and keep you turning page after page to find out what happens next. congratulations!

Truly enjoyed this first effort by a new author. it held my interest and was easy to read and follow the story line. Lovely, loving love story. I am looking forward to the book by Mary M. Ricksen. She is a new budding talent. I highly recommend this book. Janice LoRusso

(Thoroughly engrossed in it...)

(A great book)

(Exactly What I Wanted in a Time-Travel Romance Novel!!!)

(Truly Enjoyable)

(KNIGHT'S LEGACY)
Sometimes romance books are easy to put down, and sometimes it's near impossible. This one falls into the latter category.
This woman knows how to weave a good tale full of romance, chivalry, respect, sword fighting, loyalty, a knight who's handsome, kind and gentle, but a fighter. And a woman who's no spoiled, ill tempered mess. I thought I might not enjoy her character, part of it because she was a stunt woman, but that was what make her character so likable: her strong, independant, feisty nature.
I wasn't bored one minute reading this. Not only that, it's a rare romance book that can make me cry, but cry I did!
Here's hoping that she's written more than one book-and I'm off to find out!

This book is a truly wonderful book. You grow to love Cat and Roderick through the book, and the Scottish speech brings you back to the old days. Knight's Legacy is a must read for anyone who enjoys the medieval times and romance. I can't wait to see Trenae's next published book, I know that she is a talented writer and I imagine it will be even better than her first!
This book is part of those rare time-travel romance novels to cherish and enjoy. I recommend this book to anyone who are fanatics of time-travel romance novels, you won't regret it ^_^
An old man (Merlin look alike) tells Cat to follow her heart. Only she never expected it to land her in the thirteenth century. She is kidnapped, threatened and forced to impersonate Brianna McKay, a ruthless outlaw's daughter.

Roderic de Montwain doesn't want to marry Brianna but it has been ordered by the King to do so. Once he lays eyes on his bride-to-be (which is really Cat), he finds that the prospect of marriage doesn't seem so bad.

Cat is an independent woman and has difficulty adjusting to the way a lady of the castle should behave, but Roderic is patient, and soon Cat falls in love with her brave and honorable husband.

Roderic hears whispers that his wife is mad. He is aware that her actions are unconventional, but he finds her intelligent, kind-hearted and intriguing. He hopelessly looses his heart to her.

Not everyone wants this couple to live happily ever after, and treachery is afoot. Roderic must find out who is behind the conspiracy to harm his wife and start a clan war before it is too late, while Cat is faced with the prospect of returning to her century and leaving behind the only man she has ever loved.

Ms. Sumter gives detailed descriptions of the Scottish Highlands and the way they lived in the thirteenth century. Her secondary characters, Glyniss, the healer; Kenneth, the fey-taken; and Gavin, Roderic's trusted man are likable and add to the story as well. This is truly enjoyable read!

During a shoot on location in Scotland, stuntwoman Catherine `Cat' Terril runs into a Merlin look-alike who advises her to follow her heart. Feeling certain that she was to be a victim of a practical joke, Cat follows the lavender mist and ends up in the year 1230. Cat is immediately captured and told that either she is to pretend to be Brianna Mackay and marry some English lord or she would be killed.

Roderic de Montwain is not pleased at all to be ordered to marry Brianna but as his King orders so he obeys. Upon seeing Brianna for the first time though Roderic is struck by her beauty; that is until she demands to have her sword returned to her. Roderic comes to find that Brianna is definitely not your typical Lady, as she can ride like she is one with the horse but has no idea how to sew or cook. And she refuses to answer his questions as too why!

KNIGHT'S LEGACY by Ms. Sumter is a gem of a love story! As Cat gets to know Roderic she is willing to give up all she knows, all modern conveniences such as cell phones and microwaves just to remain by his side. There are difficulties as Cat has been raised in a time where women are a man's equal and she goes back to a time where they are nothing more than property. However, Roderic is an honorable man who is very gentle and loving with his wife. He would stand out as a hero in any time period!

KNIGHT'S LEGACY will sweep the reader away to the Scottish Highlands where they will become immersed in the politics, beliefs and the cooking styles of the 1200's. This reviewer has only one complaint about the tale and that was that a character's name changed in middle of the story with no explanation. Other than that, Ms. Sumter has done such a wonderful job of drawing the reader into the story that when this reviewer's cell phone rang there was a moment of total confusion trying to determine where and what that sound was. KNIGHT'S LEGACY comes very highly recommended for any reader who enjoys medieval or time travel romances. Get your copy today and you are sure to not be disappointed!

On location in Scotland for a film shoot, stuntwoman Cat Terril is waiting to film an action scene when she takes a stroll through the ancient castle that is their set.

Then she meets an old man in black robes who gives her a set of keys and directs her to….

"Follow your heart…"

Thinking it is a harmless prank designed by fellow stuntmen, Cat follows the old man’s direction to a locked door around which swirls a strange, lavender mist.

Using the set of keys, she opens the door, steps into the mist and falls, literally, into a frigid lake in thirteenth century Scotland.

There was no‘harmless prank’ involved. Cat is in desperate peril, finding herself suddenly the hostage of vicious, brutal clan leader, Calum Mackay. To obtain clemency from the Scottish king, the renegade Mackay must give his daughter, Brianna, to Englishman Roderic de Montwain in marriage. Brianna, however, in love with another, has run away. And Cat bears a striking resemblance to Mackay’s absent daughter.

It is unbelievable enough to find herself in medieval Scotland. It is beyond comprehension to find herself abruptly married to a stranger. A stranger, moreover, who unlocks a passion and sensuality within her Cat never suspected she harbored. And Roderic, who has vowed to never lose his heart, finds himself falling for the mysterious, flame-haired bride he has taken to his bed. A bride some say is mad… and others claim is an imposter ….

(The cover might be outdated, but the story is Timeless)

(Deceptively good)

(loved it)

(A great read!)
Like another reviewer, I find it harder and harder to find good time-travel romances that I haven't already read. I search reading lists and reviews to try and find good books in this genre. That is why when I find one that I really enjoy, I like to write a review incase others are looking for the same. This book had all the elements I like in a story: time-travel, romance, good character development and an interesting plot. My only complaint about the book (besides the front cover) is Robyn's relationship in the present time. I felt that it was rushed and I never really understood why they were so in love. Other than that, I really enjoyed Robyn's relationship in the past and how the present and the past meshed together in the plot. Please don't let the cover detour you, it might be outdated but the story is Timeless.
The concept of people switching bodies has been done, and the concept of people time-traveling has been done. I've never read both, and Jasmine Cresswell nailed it. You'd think, "What would one expect from a paperback romance?" yet this is the closest romance I've come to literature quality. The thought of a woman having to live someone else's life, in the context of time travel, struck me sharply and intrigued me.

Expectedly, the plot is predictable to a point. Yet it finishes with a jolt, which devastatingly becomes the aching realization that it was inevitable. (I read this in two days, one sitting each day, and I was only able to speculate about what was going to happen!)

This book has its short-comings, namely the characters' relationship and some of the round-about dialogues earlier in the book. I felt gypped by the change in pace half-way through the book, and I felt very gypped by the ending. There wasn't a balance established between Robyn's feelings of the two centuries, and I wasn't convinced by her ability to live equally in both. Half-way through, the dialogue characteristic of the first half slowed down, leaving gaps in the characters' changing relationship. I'd like to know how William and Robyn conversed later and how she truly was happy.
despite its corny Fabio-like front cover, this was a surprisingly well-written book. I found the romance touching and the main characters likeable. William was adorable.
It's getting harder to find time travel romance novels that are worth reading. This is one that meets my criteria for a keeper. Although the author uses a plot twist that's been done before, she does it in an entertaining fashion. Usually I flip to the back to find out what happened (that's how I know the book is boring) but with this one I didn't read the ending beforehand!
Robyn Delany is thrust back into eighteenth-century England where she finds love with William Bowleigh, Lord Starke, a mysterious man of the past. By the author ofTo Catch The Wind.

(Merge)
Finn did the impossible and reached over from the Alpha world to the Beta world to be with Ari, the man he has loved his entire life. Without dimensions separating them and now able to touch and feel each other, both men have some adjusting to do. Finn has to learn to survive in this new world where he is away from his friends and family with the strong possibility he may never see them again. And Ari has to come to terms with his feelings for Finn and see if Finn is what he has been missing from his life.

Along with having to make adjustments in this new world, Finn also begins to suspect that his actions may have cause irreversible damage to the Alpha world.

Merge is a great conclusion to its prequel Converge. Chris Owen left her readers hanging off a huge cliff full of questions at the end of Converge, and she answered them all beautifully in Merge. I did harbor my personal feelings of a love match between Finn and Blake, but it was written in the stars that the only person for Finn was, is and will always be Ari. I enjoyed Merge and the sci-fi aspects of it. It's a thought provoking story that got me wondering if maybe the love of my life is living in another dimension, because he certainly isn't here. So all you readers of Converge pick up your copy of Merge you will love it.

Note: This series should be read in publishing order.

Picking up where Chris Owen's Converge left off, Finn has crossed into Ari's dimension, but now what? He's a man without a past, without papers, and he can't get home. Now that he and Ari are together in body as well as spirit, they can move their relationship forward. But the uncertainty of Finn's status, and Finn's unfamiliarity with Ari's dimension, are definitely standing in their way. On top of that, something strange is going on. People in Ari's dimension are not only disappearing, they're reappearing again days later. Tracking the news and combining it with the information he has about dimensions and Between, Finn begins to suspect that his appearance in Alpha and these strange happenings are connected for sure. As he and Ari work together to help Finn adjust to Ari's life, their quest for a way to restore communication with Alpha begins. Through some clues from Alpha, and an unexpected revelation about Finn's friend Blake, Finn and Ari find someone who might be able to help him. But is the potential cost to them -- and to Finn's friends and family back in Alpha -- worth the attempt?

(A lovely Time-travel.)

(Get on with it already......)

(SWAN'S WAY MAKES YOU "ACHE" FOR A SEQUAL)

(This books "aches" for a sequal !)
After reading SWAN'S WAY by Becky Lee Weyrich, I came away wishing there were a sequel!
I picked up the book and couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting haven't been able to forget the plot or characters.
The characters were realistic and well-drawn. The time-travel was believable. The secondary characters added dimension to the story, the two older ladies on the front porch were lively and charming. The ending was smoothly portrayed, not just dropped off. A truly lovely story, sure to please the most descriminating. Ms Weyrich is a very gifted author.B+

I love time travels... I love basic good plots, no confusion, more emotional interplay. This book Swan's Way, I really tried to like it, and I did until a 3/4 the way into it. All right already, get married.... Is the father a true southern jerk, or not. If my review is confusing, then don't read the book. It really could have been a great book. But it wasn't, and I got a real headache from reading it.
SWAN'S WAY BY BECKY LEE WEYRICH makes you "ache"for a sequal! I read this over one year ago and can't get the plot or characters out of my mind. I want to see a book about the "Doctor" in the. You'll know who I mean when you are into the book. The characters are great,real-life(you'd know them if you met them) and the time-travel is so real you are a "believer" instantly! There are two older ladies of the front porch that I'd love to give a hug and kiss . They are so lively and true-to-life. The ending is believable because it is worked out and not just "ended" because the "required number of pages" are finished as with some time-travel. READ THIS BOOK AND YOU'LL LOVE IT. I promise!
I picked up this book and couldn't put it down. The people are so real that you wonder what's happening while you're not reading it. The characters are life-like and there are two old ladies that I'd love to meet and give a hug! You'll love the main character and the time-travel is believable and the problems solved in a good way not abruptly after the "required number of pages" as in some time-travel. The ONLY PROBLEM with this book is that it leaves you "HUNGRY" for a sequal for the Doctor character. Buy and read this book, YOU WON'T BE SORRY, I promise!
The doctors told Ginna Jones that because of her heart problems, her time was running out. Then, a walk in the garden of a historic plantation with Neal Frazier, a recovering plane crash survivor, sends her spiraling back in time to the Civil War. In those days, two lovers were parted by death, their fates unfinished. Now, Ginna and Neal, travelers from another century, will fight for one last chance to love.

(Really Stupid, Annoying Heroine ruins book)

(GREAT BOOK!)
The storyline of Timeless Warrior is pretty good, can a woman go back in time and change history even if its just her history? The hero, War Cry or "Terry" is handsome, brave and everything you want him to be. The time travel aspect always an intriguing one....should be a really good book right? Oh Fudge!!!!The heroine is so stupid and annoying, I almost quit reading several times and the expression Oh Fudge was used about 300 times in the book by Blossom. Thats just her first annoying habit...other examples of her stupidity is LONG after the "normal" heroine in a novel would have accepted the fact she had traveled in time, Blossom still was convinced that all of the hundreds of people she had met so far must be actors pretending to be in another time. Stupid moment #2 Hold up a very important piece of paper to an open window in a moving train and then act surprised when it blows away. Stupid moment # 3,blantantly ride into a buffalo hide poacher camp and be surprised when they tie you up and plan to rape you, Stupid moment #4 ride into a train robbers camp and ask surprised when they tie you up and plan to rape you Stupid moment #5 Ride without escort through enemy Sioux territory and act surprised when they kidnap you and plan to rape you Stupid # 6 Ride up to President Grant's home tell him you're from the future and that there are going to be flying planes, cars, assasinated presidents, and act surprised when they don't believe you and put you in the mental hospital I could go on but I hope any reader would get the idea by now and Oh Fudge, I forgot to mention, when your Indian Brave hero rides to your rescue every single time, pay him back by believing the worst of him when you misunderstand a conversation you are eavesdropping on.Oh fudge, what's a girl to do
THis book was awesome as is all of her stories are. THe characters had strong personalities that caught me right back into the same timscapsule. The plot kept me just wanting to continue and not put down..so therefore. it was read in about 1 day. Very good reading,,excellent story.
Studying an allegedly haunted Pawnee painting while gathering information for a story, journalist Blossom Ann Murdock glimpses the image of a majestic warrior and is transported into his world, where she enters into a forbidden relationship. Original.
