(A Great Item For The Classic Games)
(Scam except from amazon)
(based on the content on the wii shop channel)
(Mega Man 9.... Nuff said.....) Great deal on this, since the points are usually 100 points per dollar. And playing Mario 3 and the original Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 on a big flat screen TV is totally worth the 500 points (about 5 bucks). The thing I love about the Nintendo Wii is the ability to download the old classic games from yesteryear like Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and other classic games I remember fondly playing as I grew up. For some people who either don't have a Share check card or credit card or just don't feel they want to use them on the Wii's shopping channel you have the point cards. The virtual channel lets you basically get the old games and download them to the Wii for a certain amount of points(Dollars actually) so if a Nintendo game goes for 500 points on the shopping channel you have to use a 500 point card to download the game. I've seen the cards go as high as 5000 points($50.00) but it's up to the person themselves whether to pay that amount or not depending on how many games you intend to download from the wii shopping channel. Still I say the prices for the old games is pretty reasonable and if your like me and would like to play the bygone days of the old classic's than I say the point cards are a good choice for you to start the downloading... As long as you get this with free shipping and handling then it is fine, not a deal but not paying more. However do not buy from any other company claiming on selling it cheaper they simply over do it on shipping and you pay more. I f you don't like using your cards online go to your local Toys R Us store you can buy Wii points there. Wii points 100 points equals $1.00 U.S. Dollar. They come in 2000 point cards only so a max total price should never exceed $20.00 U.S. Dollars this is just a card that lets you buy wii ware and virtual console games. i found that buying a wii points card off of amazon.com is better cause it is sometimes cheaper than buying it at the store or using a credit card to get points.
the stuff on the wii shop channel is pretty good, you shouldn't really buy stuff there if you dont know if its good unless you read a review for that game You need this to buy Mega Man 9. Why have you not purchased and downloaded Mega Man 9 yet??
This is cheaper than retail, so what are you waiting for? No sales tax, no shipping charges (if you play it right), and no hassle....
or you can buy Gley Lancer.... either way, start your retro collection today!!
Wii points for the brand new Mega Man 9..... or any other of the fine games available on the Wii for download.... do it today!!
5 stars!! Nintendo's Wii Points Card is THE monetary payment system for Wii downloads. The Wii Virtual Console allows owners to download a library of games for an incredibly low price. By simply entering the Wii Points Card code into the Wii onscreen menu, you can get classic games from the past. Features games for the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Turbo Grafx-16. (Not as good as I'd hoped.)
(Some Major Flaws)
(Perhaps it was the minigames that got me but I dig it!)
(BigSkyGirl) i loved monopoly as a kid and this is even better because you dont have all the set up and take down involved. i love the choice of boards and mini games. I was so disappointed in this game. I expected a lot more. I found it very hard to keep track of who owned what. The colored tabs were confusing. I thought the graphics would be better. I found the repetitive narration from Mr Moneybags totally annoying. The company should look on at the online game site POGO.com , which offers their version of Monopoly, for suggestions to improve game play. Okay so let me give you background. I bought the Wii for my wife so she can use the Wiifit. I am a 43 year old weekend Dad with a 14 year old daughter. I decided it might be cool to bring the family together to play video games since we all love them but there is not much interaction on a PC (especially when we are playing different games). I saw an advertisement for this game and thought, hey I loved it as a kid maybe the new wii version will be cool for the family. My wife and I tried the game out last night. We played one whole game all the way through. As a two player selection you end up with two computer players and I left the "easy" default on. The game basically is intact and plays like the real rules of the board game. There are some special features like different ways to play Monopoly and I will speak to those in a moment. So we started off playing and the first thing I notice after 2 rolls of the dice that there isn't a way to stop the music. I tried the usual suspects and nothing. The only option this game has is to turn on captions. The music is bad, real bad, annoying and repetitive. You can't even turn it down because you kind of have to hear the dialog of the game. Why? Well that leads me to my second complaint and it's a doozy! Even with my 42" HDDLP TV the playing surface is really small. They have a cheesy zoom feature but the game mechanics for it are not aligned correctly it just zooms to the corners. This game could have rocked. It could have been and should have been a killer recreation with neat graphics of a timeless board game. The ONLY redeeming quality which did catch a glimmer of interest was in the "Richest Edition" section of the game. We played some sort of "Future version" of Monopoly where you don't roll at all. I didn't really figure out the rules but it was entertaining with it's graphics and sounds for the tokens. All in all I would unfortunately have to say that this game is a waste of money. I mean I am stuck with it so I will try to play it with my kid next week but I doubt it will hold her interest for very long. Maybe I'm into mini-games too much (and I have Mario Party 8 to blame) but I like this game.
I am a fan of Monopoly. I like Here and Now and recently played the world edition online. I was hooked. This game is different from any other monopoly that I've played and here's why.
It does have minigames that are fun to play.
There's Monopoly "Richer", which is a blast too play and is quite challenging.
I love the different boards (Sweet board, Ice board, Future board etc) and yes the property names change with each board as well as the backgrounds, tokens, and noises.
There's a passport system which is the only way to unlock new boards.
Yes, sometimes when playing, the board becomes so small that you must get closer.
Yes, in the beginning, the trade screen is impossible to manage.
But the Pros outweight the Cons.
A nice stocking-stuffer for christmas and definately a nice addition to the collection, if and only if you like monopoly! This game is great! Easy to play and the graphics are really good!
I really enjoy playing against the computer players! Much better than the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS Monopoly games! Get ready to play MONOPOLY with an exciting party twist. Host the ultimate MONOPOLY night with family and friends.
Adjustable play levels - Easy, Medium, Hard - make MONOPOLY great for the whole family Rerations < Monopoly >

customer 's review (Beware of where you purchase this game....)
(I had to return it)
(So far it seems to be a lot of fun!)
(Very Important Guitar Hero World Tour Review)
(Problems from the start, and it only got worse) My husband and I purchased this game (band kit) at a local game store, Gamestop.
As most of you have probably already read in other reviews, there are some mechanical issues with the drums. We weren't aware of this fact before we purchased the game. Although the game was indeed fun to play, the drums stopped operating properly after a week.
My husband took it to Gamestop to return the defective item. He was told by the store manager that they were unable to accept returns on this item (came down from corporate) due to the fact that there is a known issue with the drums. He went on to say that they have been instructed to advise customers that if they buy this game at Gamestop, there would be no returns or exchanges due to the known drum issue; you would have to deal with the manufacturer of the game to get your issue resolved. If you have an issue with the guitar, fine...they can help you out.
When we purchased our game, we were not warned or advised in any manner of the store's policy regarding this game. We definitely would not have purchased it if we have been advised. So, after two hours of contacting their corporate offices, regional managers, etc, they finally agreed to return the item. Only after, mind you, the regional manager offered us an exchange. Hmmmm, why on earth would we want something that the comapany itself is warning you, essentially, not to buy?!
Moral of the story: carefully review the return policies pertaining to this particular game at the store you're purchasing it from. If I could have gotten it from Amazon in the first place(out of stock) I certainly would have. I do a lot of shopping at Amazon and am pleased 99% of the time. Although with this game, I would still check out even Amazon's policies.
Too bad!!! It was a really fun game for our family, while it lasted. I was very excited to receive this game as a gift. I had never played Rockband, so this would be my first experience with the drum and the microphone for a gaming system. I really enjoyed Guitar Hero - III: Legends of Rock so I thought that this would be great. Unfortunately, due to problems with the hardware, it did not meet expectations. The songs are great and would be so much fun to play if the hardware worked.
First, the drums started having problems. I ordered the MIDI-USB kit from activision to try to fix it, and it didn't really do the trick. Then I noticed that I was having problems with the guitar. It would register extra strums or sometimes not work at all. I found that I was able to strum up, but not down (which is a major problem).
Therefore, I had to return the game. I learned my lesson. Do not buy a new game with new hardware on release day. Let them work out the kinks. I think that I could have sent the hardware back to Red Octane, but you have to pay the shipping costs and likely would not get anything back for a month. I looked around I'm not the only one with this problem. I'd wait and make Red Octane fix their stuff. My review will start out scaring people - but please continue and theres a light at the end of the tunnel...
I've only tried guitar hero and rock band very briefly on a PS2, but to be honest, I was so terrible that I didn't enjoy it at all. Some how I got the idea that I was ready to give it another try,but I'm about the least coordinated person on the planet. I have a wii, so this was the obvious choice. Initially I had a lot of trouble matching colors to buttons etc, I was constantly hitting the wrong button and getting so stressed out it made me even worse. But I got into the practice part of the game where you can slow it down a bit and it became a lot more fun as I relaxed and took it slow. It was supremely exciting when I was able to get thru a whole song on the guitar without being boo-ed off the stage.
For those in an apartment, the drums made more noise then I expected. I'm on the 2nd floor of a 2 family house with hardwood floors, and my neighbor downstairs did call to complain. So we won't be able to use those at night, but I'm a little more reserved then my boyfriend is. Secondly, we had to return the first set, as the red pad rarely worked. There is something the guitar hero people will send you to fix it, but I wasn't willing to wait and took a chance on just getting a new set. So far, it seems to all be working great. If you get a working drum set and put a blanket or something under it, you're ready to rock!
The song list is extensive and there are already some downloadable songs on the wii - none that interest me enough yet, but I'm sure the library will build. Theres something for everyone, 70's to the 90's to more recent ones(I sound like a radio commercial!). I don't know a lot of the 70s tunes, but with the microphone it was still pretty easy to sing along(though not well!). I enjoy singing even though I'm not good at it -- so I find it really fun, and not as defeating and frustrating as the guitar or drums might be initially.
In conclusion, so far, so good. I'll probably update later as I learn more about the game. =) When determining which "band kit" to purchase, I, like everyone else, searched endless reviews online comparing Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour. I finally decided on GHWT and made my purchase. The game was great at first, although the drums are too technical to just have friends come over and play if they aren't used to them. Having drummed in the past though, I thought they were great. Unfortunately, after six days the red snare drum pad failed to work any longer (and after looking online, this appeared to be a relatively common problem). I immediately called Red Octane and they told me to mail it in and they'd have a replacement within in two to three weeks. Completely inconvenient and a waste of time, but I had no other choice. Of course, I then find out that it costs $68.00 to mail back the drums only - which does not get reimbursed to you by Red Octane or Activision. Thus, in order to get a working version of GHWT, it will now cost me almost $250! In other words, I highly recommend NOT buying GHWT. I've read of others who have the same issue, so obviously it's not just a fluke. Good luck to you in your search out there. I'm heading over to Rock Band. Let me start of by saying that I was a huge fan of Guitar Hero III for the Wii. However, having friends over to play became a pain because we all had to take turns with the one guitar. So when I saw that there would be a band kit in the next version, I couldn't wait to get it. As soon as I setup the band kit, I noticed some of the drum pads didn't respond unless I whacked the crap out of them. A quick trip to Red Octane's support website showed that they were aware of this issue and would send out a free MIDI-to-USB cable that could be used to increase the sensitivity of the drums. A week later the cable arrived and to my dismay I found that the computer had to be in the same room as the game (and the software was not compatible with my Macbook). So I dragged my desktop computer out to the living room and adjusted the sensitivity of the drums with the software while watching the response in the game. A big hassle, but it was a lot better than packing up the entire game and trying to return it. Also better than trying to do a warranty exchange with Red Octane (which requires that YOU pay shipping). Everything worked great for a week, until I noticed that the guitar was "double strumming" at random times during play. Then a few days later, it was missing random notes. To verify it wasn't my guitar-playing ability, I got out my old Guitar Hero III guitar and it did not exhibit any of these symptoms. I checked out the official game forums at Guitar Hero's website and noted that many other players had the same problem with their guitars, but only after a week or two of gameplay. This was the last straw. Out of the my entire kit, only the microphone functioned as it should. I promptly disassembled the instruments, spent an hour trying to fit everything in the box, and returned the game to the store (where they were not at all surprised to see me walking in with the Guitar Hero band kit). I'll be waiting for the Wii release of Rock Band now. At least they will cover the cost of shipping should something malfunction. You'll be in rock-and-roll paradise with this bundle. The Guitar Hero World Tour Band kit includes a Wireless Guitar Controller with touch sensitive slide bar, a Wireless Drum Controller and a Microphone. The game has advanced modes, options and tools for your rocking pleasure. Enjoy a vast amount of master recordings from some of the biggest acts of all time, including Van Halen, Linkin Park, the Eagles, Sublime and more. (Good Family activity)
(back to school!)
(Big Brains)
(A really good brain workout) This is our first Big Brain game at all. I was hesitent after reading many of the previous reviews which were largly a list of "too bad it's not the same as the DS version."
I'm glad I didn't listen to them! The game is interesting and challenging. We have quite the competition between the kids and parents and the kids friends.
I only have two complaints about the game: 1-Way to much text reading in both set-up and follow-up of tests.
2-Why only 8 slots for people?? How does this promote competition if you can't have any number of people with records (this is the same complaint with WiiFit).
Other than that, get it! It is great for working on yours brains plasticity. I've had this game for a couple of weeks. It's not quite what I expected but it's challenging and fun. The setup and data stuff is a bit tedious, IMHO. Also I don't like all the screen narrative after the game is over, but I don't like it on other WII games either.
This is a good family game and will be fun for kidergarteners and up. Within a family setting, even the high schoolers will have fun. Summer's ending, kids long ago gave up on doing workbooks&writing in their journals. What to do to get their brains in gear before schools starts up? I ask myself. Enter Brain Academy. Right now there are 4 kids aged 6-9 whooping it up on my Wii, doing some simple math&visual tasks - 2 of them have "bigger brains" than me, lol! Fun, good for a rainy day especially, and IMO much better use of time than many other "games" out there. This game is challenging and takes a good bit of concentration. My kids love it and are getting better and better at it. Challenging and fun at the same time. Great for all ages so the whole family can play. My daughter and I enjoyed it so much we couldn't stop playing. The graphics and visuals are generic enough so this game won't become outdated in a year or two. We highly recommend it to families looking for good, clean, mentally stimulating entertainment. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree tests your brains with fun problems for any age or level of education. Play against up to 8 people with 15 new activities -- memory, analysis, number crunching, visual recognition and quick thinking. The Wii Remote controller's hands-on control makes playing a cinch. In split screen two-player versus mode, the same puzzle problems will appear in a different order -- The first player to get 12 correct answers wins. The Wii sequel toBig Brain Academyfor Nintendo DS includes three multiplayer modes for up to eight players. Players also can exchange student-record books with other players over WiiConnect24 and compete against their save data. With 15 new activities that challenge the brain in single-player Test and Practice modes,Big Brain Academy: Wii Degreesees how players measure up in five categories: Identify, Memorize, Analyze, Compute and Visualize. All activities are designed around the Wii Remote's pointer. Players can play solo with one Wii Remote, or pass it around like a relay baton in group competitions.Sample activities:The activities inBig Brain Academy: Wii Degreeare fun minigames with a ton of variety, and they're meant to be played rapid-fire for a short time as players push their brains to do more than they did the day before. Here are three of the activities included in the game: - Art Parts:In this Visualize activity, players must complete the sample painting by stamping the missing pieces onto an unfinished scene. When it becomes more difficult, Art Parts flips the unfinished scene sideways or flips it upside-down.
- Balloon Burst:In this Compute activity, players must pop balloons in rising numerical order. At its easiest, there are few balloons shown at once. On a higher difficulty level, Balloon Burst sends in more balloons, including some with negative numbers.
- Fast Focus:In this Identify activity, players see a distorted image that slowly returns to normal. Players must select what it is as soon as they figure it out. As it grows more difficult, Fast Focus starts with a more heavily distorted image, so it takes longer to identify what it is.
How to progress through the game:When players start a new game, they'll meet the whimsical Dr. Lobe, who will suggest that they take on the Test mode challenge: playing all 15 activities that span the five brainy categories. He'll tell players how big their brain is based on how well they did and how fast they did it. He'll encourage players to take the Test often and to use Practice mode to beef up their skills in all 15 of the activities. Practice mode also offers three difficulty levels for each activity, and Dr. Lobe will award several medals for high achievement in each one. Multiplayer:Big Brain Academy: Wii Degreeoffers three ways for groups to play:
- Mental Marathon: Speed through activities to buy more time to stay in the game. Go it solo or as a team, but if anyone botches an activity, the game is done (1-8 players, one Wii Remote).
- Mind Sprint: Form a team to compete against a system-controlled competitor that "thinks" like a selected student record (1-4 players with one Wii Remote). Or separate into two teams (2-8 players with two Wii Remotes). The first side to complete a set number of problems wins.
- Brain Quiz: Play game-show style with up to four teams that compete in a total of 20 activities, since five extra activities are available in this mode. (1-8 players, one Wii Remote)
Mii compatibility:Everyone who enrolls in the academy will choose a Mii, which will walk down the school's hallway and pop up during Wii Remote handoffs to help explain which teammate goes next in multiplayer matches. Wii Remote audio:Players will get encouragement and hear color commentary from a "Wii Remote Coach" who speaks to the player through the Wii Remote speakers. WiiConnect24:InBig Brain Academy: Wii Degree, players can send and receive student-record books full of brainy data. By establishing WiiConnect24 ties with Wii Friends who own the game, players can all see their academies affected in several fun ways: - Compare distant students' test scores with those of the local student body on the Student Scores board. Distant students' records are shown as books.
- Compete against distant students' brains in Mind Sprint. Players actually play against game-controlled competitors that "think" based on brainy strengths and weaknesses in their student records.
- The distant player's "Mii student" will walk the hallways with the player's own student body. Players can make WiiConnect24 connections with many students, adding many Miis to their crowd.
Players are encouraged to send and receive each others' records frequently, so that their academies have up-to-date results for competition and comparison. In this way, individual academies can join a personal network of schools and push each other to develop their brains further. Rerations < Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree >

Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (You need a wireless nunchuck!!!?)
(Give me a C!)
(So far this game is just plain tedious) This game is not fun without a wireless nunchuck. It's not easy or fun to do the moves if you can't extend your arms to look like the character on the screen. The nunchuck wire slaps you in the face and occasionally gets stuck behind your head. If you had a cheerleader ponytail it would be mangled. I wish I would have bought the Wee cheer instead. This game is clearly designed for younger girls, so maybe it's my own fault for wanting to relive my high school cheerleader days. I expected cheesy dialogue, that was a given, but the gameplay with the Wii Fit Board is horrid.
In career mode you design your cheerleader, then head off to try out to join the Fox Squad. You learn moves in practices before heading into tryouts. This is all reasonable. What is unreasonable is that as you leave each practice (you have to complete 4 prior to the first tryout), you have to get off the board for it to recalibrate before moving into the next practice.
This feature causes game play to be really slow. Otherwise, there's a lot of potential and I enjoy the video replay option for tryouts, but I'm overall underwhelmed with this game. I want to start by saying that I've only played this game for a few hours, but so far I'm not impressed. I bought the game because I am having so much fun with the other cheer game, We Cheer and thought this might be even better since it uses the balance board. So far I'm disappointed.
The biggest annoyance so far is that the screens take so long to load from one practice or routine to another. After waiting 20 to 25 seconds for the first part to load you get three screens acknowledging that you're using a balance board, warning you not to jump on it and some other warning and then you have to step off while it calibrates and then back on and wait again. This takes another 40 to 45 seconds. And you have to do this between each practice, tryout or routine screen. It doesn't remember the balance board like the Wii Fit does where you only need to do it one time.
If during a practice or routine you want to go back and do it over, you have to go through listening to the cheerleaders explanations and go through all the screens, clicking the A button instead of just going to the routine or practice that you want to do over. There doesn't seem to be any way to click through the first part. So you end up standing around waiting much more than actually moving and playing the game.
The main reason I bought this game was for exercise, but there is a lot less moving around than with the other We Cheer game. Most of the time you're just moving the Wiimote and nunchuck in patterns which don't always register correctly. Sometimes wrong moves register as correct and sometimes vice verse. The use of the balance board doesn't make much sense so far because since you can't jump on it or hop from one foot to the other you're basically putting pressure on one foot or the other, not really doing the moves on the screen. And having to wait for the balance board to calibrate every 3 or 4 minutes when you go to another routine makes it hardly worth the time waiting for that to register.
One other problem is that if you were to actually mimic the arm movements the cord on the nunchuck isn't long enough to put your arms out to the sides unless you're a very small person, so you would need a wireless nunchuck. A better solution would have been to use 2 Wiimotes like the We Cheer game. So far, there is much less movement in this game.
The music is ok, but a lot of the same thing. The graphics are ok, you can see them in the description here. You can unlock some different outfits and routines. It follows a year in the life of a cheerleader and you can make up your own routines at some point in the game. I'm going to spend some more time and give the game a chance but I have to tell you that in the first hours I've felt mostly annoyance at the slow loading times and impatience, waiting for the game to get better. So far it isn't fun and finding the motivation to go back to it feels like a chore.
I hope to see some other reviews here, telling me I'm doing something wrong and there's a way to skip through all the delays. I really wanted to like this game. InAll Star Cheer Squad, players will follow a year in the life of a cheerleader as you learn new cheers, participate in practices and create your own routines in the hopes of making the squad and eventually becoming its captain. High-energy gameplay includes squad competitions and one-on-one cheer-offs, where players will use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to perform dozens of real-world cheer and dance moves.
