『The "folk" described in the overture are people from the "exotic" countries and cities of Europe, including the Swiss, Turks, and Muscovites. The reason for leaving out "normal" places, like Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and England, is that they get covered as a matter of course in the typical orchestral (or instrumental) suite containing the standard national dances--the allemand, courante, sarabande, and gigue. These are basically what you get in the other two "overtures" on this disc. During the Baroque period, the terms "overture," "suite," "partita," and even "symphony" were more or less interchangeable, so don't let the terminology fool you. It's just entertaining music, well performed and recorded.--David Hurwitz』 タイトル『 Hermann Max conducts Rheinische Kantorei&Das Kleine Konzert >

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Magnificent Baroque Interpretations!) 『This album is a great resource for anyone who wants to hear Baroque music played at an extremely professional level! All but one of the concertos on this album were intended for other instruments such as oboe, voice, or violin. Sergei does an excellent job of capturing the spirit of the instrumens these pieces were originally composed for. He has a brilliant tone, that is not too bright like some other baroque trumpet recordings I have heard. His phrasing and use of dynamic changes draws the listener into the piece, and makes it an emotional experience. This must be why he has been dubbed "the Paganini of the Trumpet." He uses a B-flat Piccolo trumpet for most of the pieces, and the sounds he produces from this little instrument are nothing short of amazing. On the Neruda Concerto, he uses a regular B-flat trumpet, and he still achieves a shimmering sound, and his use of trills especially propel the music forward. He uses a flugelhorn on Bach's Agnus Dei, which was originally an Alto aria. He captures the essence of the human voice through his lyrical and dark sound. This album comes highly recommended, especially for those of you who like Baroque music, played by a master of their insrument!』
(Technically impressive, but unrefined) 『Nakariakov ranks among the best as far as technically demanding riffs and amazing tonguing speed go, but his sound is not refined enough to warrant an excellent rating. He sometimes has pitch problems, and his tone is often somewhat flat. While I enjoy his interpretation of the Neruda, I think superior recordings can be found of the other pieces (try Maurice Andre for the Vivaldi; in his recording the violin and trumpet play off each other beautifully). Give this guy time though, he's a young player.』
(This CD is great!) 『I love the music on this CD. The Neruda is my favorite, it hasn't been recorded many times, but is of the same caliber as the Haydn and the Hummel. This is a good CD for any baroque music listener or trumpet music listener.』
(Well played, superior performances) 『Nakariakov is one of the best; an overused phrase but when you hear musicianship like this, it's an appropriate one. He plays like we all would want to! An excellent addition to anyone's recordings library!』

(A wonderful CD) 『This is one of the best classical music CD's set you can buy. Telemann's Tafelmusik and the wonderful group of players gathered to play it make a perfect match.』
(Cannot be less than 5) 『Telemann - a "light" word in most ears; to cap it, "Tafelmusik". What is this? A set of roccoco danses? NOT, friends, not at all. Telemann, the fertilest composer of all, made his best in his "Tafelmusik". The CD is lavish, thanks to the godlike Brüggen. An Ouverture in D, e.g., went on an eminent "career". In England, in the 20es of 1700, there was just a single subscriber of the Tafelmusik: the cunning Handel. In his best organ concerto, he made a one-to-one "transcription" from Telemann's work. In Belshazzar, also Telemann.』

Those are The King and I, Oklahoma, Carousel, Fiddler. Why do a thing like that???? It's titled THE BEST OF BROADWAY, and it's very misleading.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Flawless) 『I bought this cd simply for the performance Handel's Gloria in Excelsis Deo, the first time I heard the piece played it near brought me to tears. Clear, and powerful the organ does not over power the trumpet, rather it aids depth to the metal sound and a warmth unkown to it. The beauty cannot be described, you will not be dissapointed』

I never thought that I could hear another Joe Jackson album even better than the "Night and Day" album which I love. This is truly sophisticated pop and this album easily put in shame many or most of today's releases that are so poor both in composition, melody, instrumentation and even sound recording. Oh and by the way, from a strictly AUDIOPHILE point of view, if you thought Night and Day was an audiophile's delight wait until you hear this album. Be sure to get the 1984 original version. I did buy it here used and couldn't be happier.』
(Joe's mix of 40's suave and songwriting is smooth) 『Joe does a great job writing music and words to paint a time period with the help of some fine musicians and a theme element of late 40's early 50's. This is one of the first all digital cds recorded. 4 stars! my favs. include- not here, not now and be my number two. Enjoy!』
(Joe Jackson - Sometimes You Can Get What You Want.......) 『After the huge success of Jackson's previous album "Night And Day" Joe continued in generally the same direction musically although inflicting even more jazz, soul, and R&B influences here. The album produced the big hit with the snazzy "You Can't Get What You Want (Till You Get What You Want), and was a successful album commercially. I like this one quite a bit better than "Night And Day". The album starts out a little slow for me as "The Verdict" and "Cha Cha Loco" are probably my two least favorite songs on the album, but after that with the possible exception of "Go For It", everything is great. "Not Here Not Now", the instrumental "Loisaida", "Happy Ending" which features an incredible vocal duet between Jackson and Ellen Foley, the somber duet "Be My Number Two" and the rousing finale "Heart Of Ice" are all top notch Jackson. For the most part this is a very strong Joe Jackson album and probably an essential disc for fans.』
(Less than I expected) 『Nothing of real interest here, neither the production or the writing is much to write home about. It will make a good coaster for your coffee cup.』
(A classic, remastered) 『A highlight of Joe Jackson's big band period, with cover art and liner notes to match. The band cooks. A highlight is the guitar solo on "You Can't Get What You Want.." The remastering captures the warm sound of the original.』 『1984 followup to the smash Night&Day album, exquisitely recorded and heavily influenced by jazz, pop standards, and salsa, Body and Soul, which hit #20, contained the hit 'You Can't Get What You Want ('Til You Know What You Want)'. Mercury. 2005.』
