Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #2,234 in Video (See Top 100 in Video) The first theatrical film from the popular Nickelodeon TV series became the surprise hit of the 1998 holiday box-office crunch, trouncing the highly competitive kids market. The key ingredient to the Rugrats' success is the writing. Venturing into their first theatrical movie, the pals--including the intrepid diaper-wearing Tommy Pickles, the nervous Chuckie, the twins Lil and Phil, and the wonderfully prissy Angelica--garble English into funny prose ("I want those fugitives back in custard-y!") and use movie references in their fantasy life. The opening here is a dead-on spoof ofRaiders of the Lost Ark.The big news for the movie is that Tommy gets a new baby brother, named Dylan (or Dil for short). The rest of the film has no real plot but is a series of adventures as the clan gets lost in the forest riding an inventive Reptar wagon that is the '90s equivalent of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Parents search for the kids, the kids learn new lessons, everyone goes home happy. The Rugrats Movieis not as wildly appealing asA Bug's Lifebut is far goofier and wackier with its animation. There's also a tremendous sense of joy that is often missing from cartoons these days, and the songs used in the film--from such diverse musicians as Busta Rhymes, Iggy Pop, Lisa Loeb, Lou Rawls, Beck, and Devo--add to the fun. It's an acquired taste, but the creators' first efforts to take the 10-minute TV sketches into an 80-minute feature pay off. The video contains a short (Winslow Doc) from Nickelodeon's seriesCatDog. Although the animation is similar, one can only hope the series does not reach the popularity ofRugrats.--Doug Thomas Rerations < The Rugrats Movie [VHS] >

Not yet released customer 's review"I think what's great about the film is though there have been a lot of things done on Bob, I think this one will give people a more emotional connection to Bob's life as a man not just as a reggae legend or a mythical figure, but his life as a man." -Ziggy Marley
Bob Marley's universal appeal, impact on music history and role as a social and political prophet is both unique and unparalleled. MARLEY is the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his early days to his rise to international superstardom. Made with the support of the Marley family, the film features rare footage, incredible performances and revelatory interviews with the people that knew him best.
From Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald (One Day In September, The Last King of Scotland) comes the story of a towering figure of musical history, whose music and message has transcended different cultures, languages and creeds to resonate around the world today as powerfully as when he was alive. Bob Marley's musical (and cultural) shadow is so large that the man clearly needed an authoritative documentary portrait--andMarleysteps in with all the right stuff to fill the role. Working with official rights to the music and access to Marley's family and friends, Oscar-winning documentarian Kevin Macdonald (One Day in September) creates a thorough account that hits the major points, not stinting on some of the less admirable aspects of Marley's life (including his brood of children fathered with women other than his patient wife, Rita, whose presence indicates just how much she puts Marley's legacy above his personal infidelities). Especially interesting is the sketch of Bob Marley's youth, as a mixed-race--and thus socially ostracized--kid from the village of Nine Mile who began to put together a reggae sound with a group of like-minded musicians in Jamaica in the late '50s and early '60s. That period comes to life, and the account of Marley's ascent, while familiar from such sagas, has its share of offbeat incidents. His death, at age 36 in 1981, does not dominate the movie, but Macdonald does a good job of getting that story laid out. In the meantime, the music and the concert footage are more than enough to justify the movie's existence, and Macdonald makes time to include thoughts about politics, ganja smoking, and Rastafarianism, too. If it's not the final word on Marley, it's an excellent start.--Robert Horton Rerations < Marley >

The duels, strategies, lore and flat-out fun of the hottest trading-card game around supercharge this first-ever movie inspired by the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! games, comic books and TV series. Heroic Yugi squares off against archrival Kaiba in an adventure even more dangerous when the imaginary monsters in their playing cards become ferociously real and when an old evil enters the fray. Who will win this ultimate smackdown? Whether you're a novice Duelist or a professional, you'll want to watch and find out!DVD Features: Challenges:Yu-Gi-Oh Monster Challenge: Memory Game Music Video:2 music videos from the YuGiOh! The Movie Soundtrack Theatrical Trailer
In their first theatrical feature, Yugi and his friends face their greatest challenge when their arch-rival Seto Kaiba obtains powerful cards from the now retired Maximillion Pegasus. More is at stake this time than a monster card championship, or even the rescue of Yugi's amateur-Egyptologist grandfather. Kaiba's challenge coincides with the discovery of the tomb of Anubis by a team of Egyptologists. The jackal-headed god is portrayed as an evil sorcerer whom the Pharaoh defeated 5,000 years ago. The resurrected wizard uses Kaiba as a pawn in his plan to destroy the world, with everything hinging on the card game between Yugi and Kaiba. The threat of world destruction is more than the premise of the series can sustain: Yugi may be a good sport, a loyal friend, and a champion player, but he's an unlikely candidate for saving the world. Neither Kaiba nor Yugi/Pharoah can play a card without screaming about the monster's power, and anyone not familiar with the game will be hopelessly lost.
