(Great spelling game) (Bananagrams - the best game in years) (8 to 80) (addictive fun) We played this game at a relative's house and decided we HAD to get one for ourselves. Since then we have shared it with others who decided the same thing. What is great about it is that kids can play along and reap the educational benefit without it really affecting the fun for the older players. This game is fun for the whole family. It also teaches children new words and spelling. There is no board required and you are building off your own words. You are playing independantly and as a group. You can also play this game alone. Challenging and rewarding! Great Game! We were given this gift by 2 different relatives for Christmas last year. We like to play games&we have been making our friends play Bananagrams with us on a regular basis&everyone loves it. It doesn't take long to play and you get better with every game. We have given away at least 12 games to our friends - we buy them in groups of 6 from Amazon to give away to people who enjoy the game with us! - Diane&Tracey This is really a fun game. Kids in my family age 8 to age 80 have enjoyed this, including me, the person who always has better things to do than play games. I have one and have bought 3 others as gifts. This is definitely way more fun than scrabble! If you like word games and playing with letters you'll be hooked in no time. It's fun with a bunch and fun to play instead of solitaire if you're bored. Stuff it in your carryon or backpack. Took it to a restaurant and soon lots of people were gathered around playing too. Best game for the price! Calling all word lovers! Play this award-winning word game anytime, anywhere.

My one complaint is the lack of spaces between the gamers. Everything else is quite nice for non active kids of this day, and age. Though I would recommend an open area to play. The bigger the better, and soft for falls. Carpets verse hardwood or title floors. If, playing, outside keep mat on a level surface. Avoid locations with tripping hazards, or little room to move. I was surprised when my kids wanted this toy. They like playing it and I'm sure you already know the game since it has been around for quite some time. Twister is a fun game especially for kids but of course adults can play, too. It also gives younger kinds the opportunity to identify colors and work on their coordination. Twister is a bit crazy but an awful lot of fun. Someone (perhaps an adult) spins the wheel and people playing the game take turns placing their right or left hands and their right and left feet on the different colors (green, yellow, blue and red) on the mat. The game usually results in kids laughing and having fun while they play the game; and I doubt that a parent would mind spinning the wheel so the kids can some fun. Although people can play this game anyway they want, usually the person who keeps their hands and feet everywhere they should be the longest wins the game. Players can be disqualified for not placing their hands and feet on the correct different colored dots on the Twister mat. As other reviewers note, it is a lot of fun for the adults to watch the kids try to keep up with the game! The game is also easy to store. The Twister game mat, which is made of plastic, folds up neatly into a comparatively small mat that can be stored on a shelf or in the box along with the spinning wheel that comes with this game. Overall, I highly recommend this game for younger children and the kids in all of us. It's inexpensive and a lot of fun. With proper care the spinning wheel never breaks and the Twister mat is relatively long lasting, too. Purchased this for my son, daughter-in-law, and young grandchildren for Christmas and it was a great hit with the entire family, something that everyone can participate in. This was a game my sons had as children and we enjoyed and now it appears that tradition will be passed on. Thanks This is a game that has been around for a lot of years that can get a good belly laugh from any age group young or old. This is a wonderful game to pull out on unsuspecting guests! Ha Ha HA!! It is even more hilarious to play after you have conned the reluctant player into participating. It is a great way for even the stiffest of the stiffs to learn to laugh at themselves in a healthy way that will leave them with funnybone memories for years to come. I love it when the adults play this with the kids because it lets the kids see that adults don't always have to be prim and proper and that they love to have fun too. When it gets clumsy is the best time because you really are able to bond with others when you see them unable to keep an impossible reach and learn that nobody is perfect and that is what is great about everyone as an individual. Twister is the game that ties you up in knots. Spin the dial and move a hand or foot to the colored circle on the floor mat. Can you get there' dont touch the mat with anything but a hand or foot. It is for 2 or 4 players. It includes a spinner, a mat and instructions. Instructions are available in English and Spanish. Over forty years old and going strong! Soon after its release in 1966, Twister was made instantly popular when Johnny Carson and Eva Gabor played it onThe Tonight Show. Such a simple concept, with so much potential for hilarity. The game includes a plastic mat with red, blue, yellow, and green spots; a spinner; and instructions. To play (as if you didn't already know…), two to four players face each other, with the plastic mat in the center. A referee spins the spinner, then calls out the body part and the color the arrow points to ("Left foot, blue," "Right hand, yellow"). All players, at the same time, follow the directions, placing the appropriate body part on a vacant circle. Players become increasingly entangled, until someone (or everyone) finally topples, and is eliminated. The last person standing?er, crouching?wins. If this doesn't bring families and friends (and celebrities) closer together, we don't know what does! We first played this game with a group of seven, it took a few rounds to memorize all the rules, but we had a blast by the end. We also played with two people and it was also fun. You have to think and watch quickly! This is one of the most entertaining and stimulating game for any age and for any number of players! When I first try to play it by myself,I find that it might be difficult for my 5 years old son.But I was wrong. My son loves it and he can quickly find the set, sometimes even more quickly than me.Overall I like this game.I think it is a good game which can make our brain think more and react more. This is a very creative and fun new game. It is great for developing and recognizing strong analytical and problem solving skills. Product is high quality and seems durable. I was introduced to this game in college and have been addicted to it for about 8 years now. It is a clever and satisfying matching game that can be played alone or with friends and family. This summer I introduced the game to my extended family and they got so addicted that at least two of them now have their own set of Set. Highly recommended for visual people or those who want a good brain exercise. This award winning card game is for one or more players. It is recommended for ages six and above. The object of the game is to identify "sets" of three cards. Each card is unique in its four features; color - red, green or purple, symbol - diamond, squiggle or oval, shading - solid, striped or open, and number - 1, 2 or 3. A "set" consists of three cards on which each feature is either the same on all of the cards, or different on all of the cards. This game contains complete instructions for play, 81 cards, and a durable plastic carrying case. SET is a card game of quick recognition and deduction. Each card contains one of three symbols (squiggles, diamonds, ovals) in varying numbers (up to three), colors (purple, green, red), and degrees of shading. A dealer arranges 12 cards, face up, and the players--without taking turns--hastily scrutinize the images for logical "sets" of three cards linked by combinations of sameness or difference. It's not as complicated as it sounds: examples include a trio of paired ovals with increasing levels of shading between cards, or disparate symbols in different colors which increase in number on each card (card one has a green squiggle, card two a pair of purple ovals, card three a trio of diamonds). The trick is to keep calm while trying to make the rapid connections. The Darwinian nature of the game (remember: everyone plays simultaneously) is certain to cause some feistiness among more competitive players.--Tom Keogh Rerations < SET Game > < Quiddler > < Blokus Classic > < Blink Game > < Five Crowns > freaks All new 4th Edition!!New Graphics!!New Card Art!!New Packaging&Tiles!!Full Color Rules Book < The Settlers of Catan > < The Settlers of Catan 5-6 Player Extension > < Catan: Cities&Knights Expansion > < Catan: Seafarers Game Expansion - New 4th Edition!!!!! > < Carcassonne Game > < Catan: Cities&Knights 5-6 Player Extension > < Catan: Seafarers Game Expansion - New 4th Edition!!!!! > < Catan: Cities&Knights Expansion > < Mayfair Games Catan Barbarians and Traders Expansion > < Catan: Cities&Knights 5-6 Player Extension > < The Settlers of Catan 5-6 Player Extension > price: Mayfair Games(2007-11-08) Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (This game captures everyone's interest) (Settler's of Catan -awesome game!) (Excellent game) (Catan is a great game, even for non-gamers.) (Simply an amazing Masterpiece) Settlers of Catan is fairly easy to pick up and start playing. The board changes arrangement every time you play, and there are several strategies that can be employed to win. This is a particularly good game for groups of 4. (Possibly more, with one of the expansion packs.) This game is so much fun! My 9 year old loves it. It's great for teaching strategy. It's a completely different game every time you play it. I recommend this game to everyone. Collaborative interactive board game. Unlike games such as monopoly and risk where players attack and manipulate one another. As with previous printings, this version of Catan is a very nice looking high quality product. All in all, the Settlers of Cantan is a wonderful game. You can find more images and reviews at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/ As a long-time gamer, I would say Settlers of Catan provides a good balance between simple rules and complex game play. Both gamers and non-gamers can enjoy this game. Heck, even my wife is willing to play this game! Like someone said, I wont go in detail about the game and how to play it. I will say that this game, along with the extensions and other Klaus Tueber games have become our favs in our home. My husband and I, our two sons (11&14) play weekly. Especially the extensions Cities and Knights and Seafarers. I learned more of Tuebers games by joining [...] where you can play Catan online as well. This is a must have, great family fun, promise you wont be disappointed and you will be back to buy the extensions... One of the most successful games of all time, Settlers of Catan is a trading and building game set in the mythical world of Catan. Players roll dice to determine which resources are generated each round and then must strategically trade those resources with other players to get what they need to build their settlements, cities, and roads. With multiple ways to gain victory points and a board that changes in every play, Settlers of Catan is a game that can be played hundreds of different ways. The base of a hugely successful franchise, with multiple engaging expansions, Settlers is the core game of many collections, and is a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends. For 3 to 4 players. The Settlers of Catan from Mayfair Games is an award-winning strategy game where players collect resources and use them to build roads, settlements and cities on their way to victory. The board itself is variable, making each game a little different from the next. Each round of The Settlers of Catan is intended to keep three or four players ages 10 and above engaged for up to 90 minutes.
The game rules and almanac booklet sets out four pages of guidelines for getting started. Don't worry, the rules are straightforward and the four pages include plenty of illustrations. There's a starting map that shows a well-balanced set-up for beginners to follow and directions that allow more advanced players to lay out the map of the island at random. You'll have to pop the die-cut components of the game out of their cardboard holders before you play your first game. The almanac portion of the booklet is laid out alphabetically, so while playing you can find answers to specific questions quickly. Useful entries remind you exactly what role pieces like the robber play, how actions like maritime trade work, and how to set up the board or finish the game. Exploring and Developing Catan Each player's roll of the dice causes certain hexes to produce resources, which you collect if you have a settlement on one of them. On your turn, you'll use various combinations of the resources you've acquired to build new roads and settlements, upgrade settlements to cities, or purchase development cards. The ability to trade resources with other players adds a new level of strategy and ensures that the game includes lots of interaction between players. You can also trade without worrying about other players using an unfavorable maritime trade rate. Elements including a robber piece that lets you steal from other players and a variety of development cards add intrigue to the game. The objective of The Settlers of Catan is to be the first one who collects 10 victory points. Each settlement is worth one victory point and each city is worth two victory points. You can also earn victory points by holding the "Longest Road" card, the "Largest Army" card, or special victory point development cards. Best-Selling Game of the Year Due to the widespread popularity of the original game, several expansion sets (sold separately) are available that allow you to explore new aspects of the game or add more players. The only downside to this game is that you need to have either three or four players to play, so it's great that expansion sets are available that will allow you to add players.
