(awesome)
『the movie is really good, and it came really fast, anyone who's looking for a good highlander movie, you should get this one.』

(Duncans worst nightmare)
『Duncan would have taken this evil "kell" out a long time ago if he was on the series. because duncans the best. over 627 heads for this guy. duncans 174 huh.

Duncan should of had more heads than him. anyhow duncan was scared a little but in the end we know what will happen. what about methos? he's an immortal? he should of been fighting in this show too. anyhow the worst nightmare was duncan could of lost his head. good overall show.』

(Better than the second movie)
『This was better than the second movie, which didn't fit very well with the Highlander saga. I thought they redeemed themselves with this one by making it fit with the first movie. I liked the characters and the storyline and was pleased that they paid attention to what happened in the first movie, and the series that spun from it. The swordsmanship and special effects were both exciting.』

(Best HL "sequel" yet, falls short of Series)
『This movie came out in when I was about 13 and a huge fan of Highlander: The Series and the original movie that spawned the entire franchise. History, swordplay, martial arts, philosophy, and good principal actors. To this day I have fond memories of being entertained by the HL franchise.

Endgame is the third of four sequels to the original movie, none of which can truly be called sequels. Highlander II: The Quickening betrays the premise of the original movie, Highlander III: The Sorcerer returns to the premise but ignores the Series (which ignores the events of the original movie, but not the premise), aside from being a mediocre imitation of the original. The Series, on the other hand, is where the whole franchise reaches its zenith and, in my opinion, surpasses the original film in scope, with a rich mythos and a world of interesting characters.

Endgame doesn't reach the heights of the best of the series, but isn't as bad as its worst episodes. All in all, it can be seen as a high budget, feature length episode of the series. Thematically, everything in the movie (besides a storyline featuring Connor) has been played out more or less in the series. The flashbacks are convincing but, again, not nearly as compelling as the best of the series. The story arch and mythos could only be appreciated by fans of the franchise, so by itself it has little strength.
The movie also falls short of its own potential; the original script and alternate cuts reveal a somewhat different movie.

By itself, it is far better than many sci-fi cult movies, but the best of Highlander is the best of the series. If Davis and Panzer ever wish to make a feature film that rivals the series, somebody needs to seriously reflect on what made the franchise successful in the first place.

The DVD itself is high quality and highly entertaining, though. It includes an entire alternate cut and interesting production features. The soundtrack is also quite good--I made a point of re-purchasing it this year after losing my original copy.』

(Please, STOP Writing about Endgame, this movie is NOT that one!)
『Okay first off, this movie is NOT the endgame one where connor and duncan arein it together, this is the one where the original highlander and his son are in it. the mongol guy, Caine, (Mario Van Peebles), breaks his katena, blah blah. do just a LITTLE research, GAWD.』
『Despite a typically haphazard plot,Highlander: Endgameis a marked improvement over previous sequels. This is the "torch-passing" chapter, in which the Immortal Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) passes his life force to his heroic brother, Duncan (Adrian Paul, star of the 1993-96HighlanderTV series). These appealing stars make a fine onscreen duo, and Paul is a terrific choice to keep the franchise alive--strikingly handsome but possessing enough gravitas to make the prospect of future sequels unexpectedly promising. The movie is incoherent to the uninitiated, but established fans will be reasonably impressed byEndgame's cagey mix of romance, swordplay, and history-spanning action. While the movie's chaotic construction is regrettable, the frequent battles (including dazzling work by Honk Kong action star Donnie Yen) are adequately impressive, and Douglas Milsome--cinematographer of Stanley Kubrick'sFull Metal Jacket--ensures that every scene is strikingly photographed. All in all,Highlander: Endgameis surprisingly worthwhile.--Jeff Shannon

(Not The Best But....)
『I always wondered what they would come out with after the Voyage Home and I wasn't too surprised by what came up. Some of the insight into the main characters backgrounds was nice but the movie really just didn't make it. I liked OK, but not one of the best Star Treks.』

(Why does Amazon.com put all these positive reviews on here?)
『This movie was considered by most people to be horrible.
Why does Amazon.com put these fanboys reviews over even serious critics
Ebert, denounced it as the worst. So somebody will buy this B-movie?

(Give it a break!)
『I've read a lot of criticizm toward this movie on here. It's not THAT bad! Come on, it's got action, philosophy and comedy, the ingredients to a proper Star Trek movie! No it wasn't the best. Yes the plot was a bit weak, but I personally think it was a half-decent movie. The effects are decent for the time it was made, the acting was good, maybe could have been a bit better. I suppose the plot could have been used in a one-hour episode rather than a movie, but I think that everyone would agree with me when I say that this movie is NOT the worst compared to The Motion Picture, which is the only Star Trek movie I don't like because NOTHING happens in it! In this one they fight Spock's long lost half brother and find an evil alien claiming to be God (and the part where Spock gives the neck-pinch to a horse is priceless). In the Motion Picture, what did they do? Fly through a cloud. Oooooh, how exciting!

No, it's not the best Star Trek movie out there, but I say it was a fun, entertaining installment to the adventure.』

(It wasn't HORRIBLE)
『In my quest to view all the Star Trek movies, I had the somewhat misfortune of seeing them in this order: First Contact, Insurrection, Nemesis, The Voyage Home, Star Trek (2009), The Voyage Home (in full this time), Wrath of Khan

So then I restarted again with the first to last.

What was so horrible about "The Final Frontier"?

Standing on its own, I thought it was a pleasant enough movie, but it suffered from a severe lack of real drama. It seemed like there was no real immediate danger for some of the film, and then Sybock comes and starts using some sort of mystic powers to "brainwash" people to his cause, including members of the Enterprise crew.

Probably the only high point of the film involved him showing the greatest fears to Spock and McCoy, and in particular, the one involving Spock was disgustingly brutal, and treated properly as such.

But where was the rest of this movie? Kirk, Spock, and McCoy resist Sybock's manipulation, but go along with him to the center of the galaxy (what?) to some barrier where supposedly the center of all the major species' religions lie (I'm not naming the garbled fake names of the others, but the humans call it Eden) to find GOD HIMSELF!

Right away this flies in the face of about 1/3 of the Star Trek episodes in SEASON ONE ALONE of the Original Series.

How many times have the crew of the Enterprise encountered some godlike creature that could easily be considered any God, or even THE God worshipped by the Christians, Jews, Muslims, only to discover it's just a hyper-advanced alien creature of some sort or another?

I can name so many of them, Trelane, the things whose names I forgot that brought Kirk and the Gorn captain to fight, Charlie Evans and his overseers, the beings from that planet that Kirk and Spock were stranded on when the Klingons occupied it, the Archons, the Gatekeeper, etcetera.

And so just because it's this time around, they think it really could be God?

To be fair, it would seem that Kirk and Spock and McCoy are probably fully aware of the fact that there is a 99% chance it's NOT God, which is only confirmed by the being's not only failure to answer, but even necessitating the question be asked repeatedly by Kirk

"What does God need with a spaceship?"

But in the end, there's no big conflict, no big stand-off or showdown or great philosophical debate of profound proportions, Sybock is vindicated of being a villain, and is immediately removed from the picture as no longer essential to the film's momentum.

And then that's it. Every instance that there may be a conflict, either physically or verbally, either turns out to be a red herring or a SHOCKING SWERVE! revealing it to be something less than it could have been.

And that's really what this movie is. Less than it could have been. But that's not the fault of the actors or the director or anyone---it's a fault of the script. The movie's overall plot is one that could and should be a 50 minute rapid-paced single episode rather than a feature length movie.』

(Heading Off to Eden? Oh Brother!)
『Shatner co-wrote the story and directed Star Trek V, which changes a lot of what we fans know of Trek and is very derivative of earlier episodes without the humor and grace of what we expect.

As in the Eden episode from the Sixties, an alien takes over the Enterprise and forces the crew to go to a planet that most say contains God. OK, not bad, except the alien is Spock's brother! Say what? And he laughs out loud and belongs to a faction of Vulcans that have emotion.

After this film, I don't think any writer has referred to this faction, nor to Spock having a brother, ever again. And with good reason. Just does not play as good Trek.

Yeah, there are some interesting moments like Kirk climbing El Capitan and almost dying in a fall and teaching Spock campfire songs, but the overall film does not have the passion and the grace of the earlier films.

The desert scenes seemed fake and the dancing/prancing Uhura was done over by another actress! Nichelle Nichols is an accomplished singer/dancer, yet this was not to be.

However, decent music by Jerry Goldsmith! The weakest of the Original Trek films.

『Movie critic Roger Ebert summed it up very succinctly: "Of all of theStar Trekmovies, this is the worst." Subsequent films in the popular series have done nothing to disprove this opinion; we can be grateful that they've all been significantly better since this film was released in 1989. After Leonard Nimoy scored hits withStar Trek IIIandIV, William Shatner used his contractual clout (and bruised ego) to assume directorial duties on this mission, in which a rebellious Vulcan (Laurence Luckinbill) kidnaps Federation officials in his overzealous quest for the supreme source of creation. That's right, you heard it correctly:Star Trek Vis about a crazy Vulcan's search for God. By the time Kirk, Spock, and their Federation cohorts are taken to the Great Barrier of the galaxy, this journey to "the final future" has gone from an embarrassing prologue to an absurd conclusion, with a lot of creaky plotting in between. Of course, die-hard Trekkies will still allow this movie into their video collections; but they'll only watch it when nobody else is looking. After this humbling experience, Shatner wisely relinquished the director's chair toStar Trek II's Nicholas Meyer.--Jeff Shannon

『this is a amazing movie with so beautiful graphique, event wall disney can't do better.』

(NO ZACK ANIMATED FILM!)
『I have seen this movie like a 1000 times, it is beautifully made, if not a bit confusing plot wise (I have played the game like 1000 times too, so my confusion is not for lack of understanding of the FFVII universe)

But this is not what this review is about. I am reviewing the BluRay and lack of respect to us fans. I got the BluRay today and was VERY disappointed to find out the Zack animated short is not included AGAIN! I thought this thing would have EVERYTHING. If Transformers' 2 BluRay can have 6 hours of special features... well. Instead we only get the new Danzel short and a disappointingly short list of the same stuff we got on the DVD... no Zack short though, to me this feels like an excuse to squeeze more money out of us.

I previously bough the two disc DVD, in which of course, since there was a SPECIAL "Limited Edition Collector Set" whatever they call it, edition coming out at some point (which sold/sales for $49.99) wasn't included either. It was only reserved for those who forked out the cash. I thought, that by now, SquareEnix know that they got just about all they can from the DVD sales, so they should have included BOTH shorts in the BluRay plus whatever other incredible footage and revised scenes they claim to have, is not lack of space (neither was on the DVD) is just pure disregard for the fans who follow them even though they are the KINGS of delays and overrated hype. It disappoints me to see whoever decides what was to be included in the special features (or not), holding out on us fans like this. What, are they going to release a BluRay special edition with some fancy cover and charge $100 bucks for it just to get a 20 minute short film!? Do they really expect us to buy every release they put out there? I Guess I should just buy the most expensive one and shut up, but that is not the point.

I rate this a 3 because the movie is enjoyable and you do get the 1080p HD experience, but that's it. If you have the DVD, save your money, or buy another BluRay you don't have...like Transformers 2 lol.

(Now It's a Movie)
『I kept track of the evolution of this movie. At first it was just going to be some 45 minute OAV, then what i call a Disney-length movie (about 72 minutes), and I never took it seriously as a movie. I thought it was just a sad attempt at making money off the fans. Then they extended it out to a full-length movie, and i got excited. I saw it. It was a fun ride, but it kinda left me dazed and confused. I knew the story of FF7 (though i had never finished the game), at least enough to know what was going on in general, but this story seemed like an excuse for the action that took up more than half the movie. It was rushed, the whole movie looked very gray and depressing, the transitions were very rough, and a bunch of other small nitpicky things annoyed me. I think i gave the original cut 5 stars at the time, but in retrospect, it was more of a 4. High marks for the animation being far beyond what we get in America for direct-to-DVD, and for the action being so wonderfully insane that it made my eyes tired.

This release deals with the big issue that kept the original cut from being a real movie and not just a movie for FF7 fans. The story. They really fleshed it out, and instead of trying to pick up where the game left off and continue that story, the additions have served to finally give this its own story (and one that fits the title much better). And like any decent movie based on a story told in another media (Serenity), you don't have to know what happened before, but there are obviously things that will be more significant to those that do, but mostly in a nostalgic sense. The pacing is also a lot better, so it doesn't feel so rushed.

They've added more than just talking though. Many of the action sequences have been extended and revamped, including the final duel (which definitely pushes this above the PG-13 rating of the original cut). There are a few more location shots here and there which are easy to miss, but help with the pacing. And this cut seemed more colorful. It's still pretty gray, but things like Cloud's shirt looking blue, and Vincent's cape now being bright red seemed to pop out at me. It also seems like the characters actually look beaten, bruised, and dirty during the fights, and i don't remember it being done quite so obviously before.

The only thing that bugged me about this is that it's only on Blu-Ray (i just got a PS3, so i finally got to see this) and that you can tell how old some of the sequences are (early in the movie's development, after they decided to do a full-length movie, new footage for Complete). But that's because they've been working on this for so long. I noticed that in the original cut. But unless you're as visually picky as me, it won't bug you too much.

So with all the additions, big and small, and even with it's shortcomings, Advent Children is finally a real movie to me. And it now earns a full 5 stars from me beyond all doubt.』

(fantasic movie)
『new scenes helped make the movie flow much better. visually stunning on 1080p tele. a bit sparse on extras beyond the film. overall a very solid addition to your sci-fi blue ray collection. and def a must for final fantasy fans.』

『Great images, great sound and a nice movie for gamers and Blu-Ray lovers!
Have Fun!』

The question facing any viewer of the Japanese CG featureFinal Fantasy VII: Advent Childrenis: do you have to know the games on which it's based in order to understand the film? And the answer is: it certainly helps. But even complete novices (i.e., most parents) in theFinal Fantasyworld will find some entertainment in its wealth of fantasy-based action, and the animation never fails to astonish. Picking up two years after an epic battle between the forces of good (represented by brooding soldier Cloud) and evil (Cloud's former general, Sephiroth),FFVIIopens in the devastated city of Midgard, whose youthful occupants suffer from a ghastly disease known as Geostigma. A trio of brothers arrives with what appears to be a cure for the plague, but their gesture conceals a more sinister purpose: to revive Sephiroth and bring about the end of the world. Cloud and his companions must once again rise to the occasion to stop the siblings and the revived Sephiroth from unleashing total destruction. Complex and self-referential to the point of occasional incomprehension,Final Fantasy VIIwill definitely be most appreciated by fans of the game series, but if others can look past the numbing dialogue and frenetic action (which is a bit too intense for very young children), the film offers a carefree and action-packed viewing experience. The two-disc set contains the original Japanese language version of the film as well as an English-dubbed edition (Rachel Leigh Cook and Christy Carlson Romano, among others, provide the vocal talent) and a version edited for the Venice Film Festival. A 30-minute featurette that recaps theFinal Fantasystory up to VII, as well as a making-of documentary, deleted scenes, and promotions for futureFinal Fantasy VIIgames and products round out the extras.--Paul Gaita

(I<3 this movie)
『They're all wrong. This movie was absolutely amazing. When I realized that I could finally own it by buying it online half an orgasm backfired in my brain. I think I can see the future now. The future says "You're buying these movies and loving every freaking sexond*".

(*not a typo, as every second is as good as sex)』

(hmmmmm)
『I feel it is only fair to preface this by saying that I got this video as the free thrid video in a buy two get one free bin. So the low cost probably shifted my expectations. This contains parts 1 and 2 of a 4 episode show off of the final fantasy game of the same name.

In many ways this was surprisingly good (remember I had low expectations). There was plenty of comic relief. The plotline is not so similar to that of the game. The setting is similar, so you see places from the game drawn out in cartoon form. Some of the details there were nice. Often there were small details added that were nice to see and maybe had inside jokes.

As other reviews have said, many aspects of this were over the top to the point where it feels more like a parody of anime than an actual show. The main character Linally wears a man shirt (and not particularly big) with no pants. There are plenty of panty shots, including magically glowing butt cheeks that have something to do with the wind crystal's power. It's not so graphically drawn and she looks like she's about 10. I'm not sure if that makes it more or less disturbing.

I think that if I had had any sort of expectations that I would have felt hollow and empty after having watched this. But since I had no expectations, I kind of liked it. I wouldn't watch it again, and there are only two episodes here at 30 minutes each so you aren't getting much.』

(Painful)
『When I heard there was a Final Fantasy anime OVA series based on Final Fantasy V, I was excited beyond words. Final Fantasy V was quite possibly my favorite Final Fantasy game ever, and as an avid anime fan, this would seem like a perfect combination.

Boy, was I wrong.

The bulk of the plot revolves around the main female character's rear end glowing, and there's only so many times that a gag like that can be even the slightest bit funny. The plot is thin and doesn't make much sense."Final Fantasy: The Anime"takes place years after Final Fantasy V. This was its first problem. The ending of Final Fantasy V leaves a lot of room for expansion. There could've been any number of great plots created about the adventures of Batz, Lenna, Faris and Kururu after vanquishing Ex-Death."Final Fantasy: The Anime"is more like a sequel to Final Fantasy V than a continuation, and this was one of the biggest problems.

Unfortunately, somewhere along the way of deciding the plot should be a sequel of sorts to Final Fantasy V, the producers decided to throw in as many references to the game as possible. From a visage of the heroes of Final Fantasy V, to even a guest appearance by the ghost of Mid. None of this makes much sense, really.

Even for a seven-year-old series, the animation is extremely poor. I certainly wouldn't be able to tell this was supposed to be a high-budget OVA series by looking at it at first glance. The character designs are ugly, sloppy, and a discrace to Final Fantasy.

It's painful to see a great story like Final Fantasy V to be turned into an abomination like this. Don't buy it. Don't even rent it like I did. Don't even see it. It's not even about the money. It's just plain painful for anyone who's ever played Final Fantasy V to watch this.』

(Fintal Fantasy #1)
『THIS WAS THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN!』

(Pretty good......)
『I am a BIG fan of all the Final Fantasy games and Animes. I think this is pretty good but is lacking some of the story elements. Other than that it's an overall good movie. I also think it's quite funny. If your not a fan of the seiries this isn't for you.』

(Bahamut)
『Again, the coloring is very well done on this figure, a great representation of the GF from FF VIII. Not posable, but a beautiful addition to a FF collection.』
『The Bahamut sculpture, done in both opaque and semi-translucent portions, will stand 6 tall. This is the FFVIII version of Bahamut. Mounted above jagged crystal shards and flight swirls, the naturally-armored dragon is roughly anthropoid, the body almost dwarfed by the encompassing dimensions of the talon-tipped arch-ribbed wings. The head, joined with a serpentine neck, is thrust upward with a scintillating burst of fire discharging from the muzzle. Depending on a particular incarnation, the Bahamut will usually require a demonstration of power in order to lend his services. In the case of this version of Bahamut, the dragon will only join the cause once the heroes have proven themselves worthy. The incendiary Bahamut entity varies somewhat in level of power, but universally hes one of the strongest monsters in the Summon arsenal. The FFVIII Bahamut is based in the devastating Mega Flare attack.』

(Excellent recording of Franck)
『Cesar Franck is one of my favourite composers for the organ. I bought this CD a few weeks ago, and I've been pretty pleased by it. Eric Lebrun is a talented organist and the instrument he plays has been kept up in good shape over the years.

His tempos are somewhat brisker than those of Murray, especially in the Grand Piece Symphonique, Op. 17. But the church of Saint Antoine des Quinze-Vingts is a more intimate space than that of Saint Sulpice. Also, the organ is quite a bit smaller than that of Saint Sulpice. It is somewhat a more intimate Franck, I suppose, than Franck played at Saint Sulpice or Saint Sernin in Toulouse.

Still, it is an excellent introduction to the organ music of Cesar Franck.』

(Pretty Good.)
『Overall, this was a good buy. My only complaint was that the piece "Melodies of Life" number 22 disc 4 was in Japanese, not English, and this was not made clear. But the rest of the music is good.』

(Reminds me of the good old times...Just beautiful..)
『I played FF IX in PlayStation 1 several years ago, and the game is still my best game ever. I am talking about the story and the musics of the game here. As other reviews said, the game has many emotions in it: sadness, happy, despair, hope and many other you can mention. This game is something that if you play it, even just once, you will never forget it for the rest of your life. And the songs and soundtracks in this collection bring you to the exact emotions that goes perfectly with every scene in the game.

Sadly, I don't have the 4 CDs collection yet, and so I can't really telling anything about the actual songs in the collection. But base on other reviews, I believe that this collection is going to be great. Regardless of some songs are missing in this collection, I wouldn't regret buying these 4 CDs because they got all the beautiful themes that I want to hear over and over again.

The song like Frontier Village Dali is one of my favorite. When ever I feel like longing for my first home in the country side, this song always brings me the good old memory about that place, just like in the game.

In my opinion, this FF IX soundtracks collection would be enough for me to remind myself of the good old times when I used to play this game all day long and never get out from my room...Just beautiful...』

(Yes, It Is Worth $75!)
『Ok...so the price Amazon claims isn't that reasonable, but I'd still pay that much for this CD. Final Fantasy IX has, in my opinion, the best music of the series, even if it may not be the best game. My favorite tracks are "A Place To Call Home" and "Not Alone," both off the first disc. The later tracks, like in all FF games, suffer from being mainly remixed versions of the first songs, which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. Still, if you're a fan of the Final Fantasy series, this is pretty much a must have. If you're having difficulty finding a copy, iTunes has all the FF music available now, which is where I got most of the songs I have now.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review
(Soundtrack Of The Turks and SOLDIER)
『Before I get down to reviewing this soundtrack, let me first explain something for all those FF7 fans out there who see this and have no clue what it is. Before Crisis/Last Order is a combined soundtrack of Before Crisis; originally a cell phone game about the Turks and their role before and leading up to the events of Crisis Core (only available in Japan as far as I know) and Last Order, an anime short about Cloud and Zack's escape from the Shinra mansion in Nibelhiem after Sephiroth went psycho. Now, on to the review.

This soundtrack is different from what you might expect from a FF7 installment. This sounds nothing like the original FF7 game, or Advent Children, and only slightly like Crisis Core. This is a very action oriented soundtrack, so most of the music ranges from mild to fast paced, heavy with percussion and guitars of all types. But by no means does that mean the tracks are not still well done, they are far from one dimensional. Also there are a couple of vocal tracks thrown in here by WAKAKO. She sings "Theme Of Elfe (Angel/Devil)" which sound surprisingly good (Very Evanescence-esque). Even for all those who value the traditional FF composed music over this more electronic based production will appreciate the attempt to include some classic themes from the original game, like "Brief Reunion" which is a theme from Tifa, and "Theme Of Turks 2005" which I guess is kind of self explanatory.

Although this isn't exactly my cup of tea so to speak, this is a pretty good soundtrack. It may not be Uematsu, but Takeharu Ishimoto does a good job with what he's got to work with. The music fits the game and movie perfectly (play and watch them and you'll see what I mean. Last Order isnt hard to find) I hope this helps some out there, I know info is hard to find about this. Enjoy.

(A good guide for a good game!)
『It is well-known that Final Fantasy IV is one of the more difficult games to reach the DS. For those who don't already know, the game chronicles the adventure of Cecil and his party of stalwart friends in their quest to save the world by retrieving the crystals from the clutches of the evil nemesis, Golbez.

This BradyGames Guide is very useful for those who need anything from simple tips and strategies to a complete walkthrough of the game. It is packed with detailed information on the game including a very thorough bestiary, detailed stats on weapons, armor and other items, a description of spells and augments as well as data on all the playable characters in the game.

The Guide also contains complete maps of all the areas in the game (i.e. dungeons, towns, castles etc) and highlights where hidden treasures can be located. It also points out what items are available from the various shops within each town and makes suggestions as to what weapons, armor etc should be bought.

As a walkthrough, the Guide is very comprehensive. It provides concise instructions on what to do at each stage of the game without giving away the plot twists (and there are many plot twists in the game). The Guide also does a great job of identifying the major battles at each stage of the game and provides detailed information about each boss' stats and instructions on how best to defeat the boss. While the player is free to use a different attack strategy, the Guide does serve as a fallback if all else fails.

Lastly, the Guide also contains information on the secrets within the game itself such as secret boss battles, hidden areas and strategies on how to improve your Whyt (and earn extra costumes in the process).

In summary:

Pros
+ A thorough guide, packed with heaps of information and useful data.
+ Provides a clear walkthrough of the game without giving away the story and surprises in the plot.
+ The information is presented in a easy to read and understand format.
+ Contains maps, screen shots etc in full color making it easier for the player to relate the Guide to the game itself.
+ Identifies the secrets within the game which players may not be aware of.

Cons
- The font sizes of some of the text may be a little small, but it's manageable nonetheless.
- There may be too much information to pick up though not all of it is relevant for the game.
- There are a few errors within the Guide but nothing too significant. One I feel I should point out (without giving away too much) is to simply this: if you lose the Lustful Lali-Ho, it can be replaced with the Ninja Sutra :)

Overall, I feel that this Guide is a great companion to the game. It gives the player a lot of useful information and leaves it to him/her to decide how much help he/she wants. In short, it's an ideal resource for those who are new as well as veterans of this game and the series.

(Great Book, Quick Delivery)
『Good shape, loved the fast delivery. Not To mention it was at a good price, too!』

(actually 4 and 1/2 stars)
『Basically it's a good guide with detailed maps, lovely pictures of all characters, and clear tipps. But there are 2 fights in the game where I had to look in a userforum for help. Overall I would buy it anyway.

(Good, easy to use guide)
『This a a fun, easy-to-use guide. The maps are nice and the monster descriptions are very helpful. Definitely recommended for someone who has not played the earlier version of this game.』

(A Good Companion)
『Final Fantasy IV is a relatively simple game. It's even simplar if you've been through it before. But for those who haven't, this strategy guide can get you through much of the game with ease.

It begins by jumping right into the basics of the game. Final Fantasy IV is by no means a hard game to understand. So long as this isn't your first Final Fantasy, there's nothing here you probably don't already know. At least it's there, but much of its tips and basic explanations have been hammered into your head before. At least it doesn't spend too much time here as it goes into the characters. Each character has a bio and tells you about their starting stats. It'll also show you coverage of their abilities. Afterwards it talks about all the magic you can use as well as all the items, equipment, and armor. After all this preliminary stuff, we get to the walkthrough.

In the past, BradyGAMES has often used a step by step walkthrough, while explaining some of the more complicated stuff. The Final Fantasy IV guide doesn't do this (but at least it has a World Map which BradyGAMES is notorious for neglecting). There's nothing too complicated about the walkthrough. There are no story spoilers and each section begins by telling you what items you can find in an area as well as showing you all the maps for an area. If it's a dungeon it'll show you all the enemies encountered. All the items are pointed out on the maps, and it'll also show you on each map what you get for uncovering 100% of the map.

The walkthrough has an easy presentation and is easy to follow. Some of the boss strategies are not the best, however. Most of them are pretty good about offense. Telling you what to use to attack certain bosses, and their weaknesses. BradyGAMES still doesn't do a good job of preparing you with a good defense. It's hard to blame the guide for this as you'll probably be alright just knowing what to attack with.

Once all that is said and done, we get into the Bestiary. Which highlights all the stats of every enemy in the game. Telling you their weakness and what they'll drop and even the rate at which they drop it. The Bestiary doesn't present itself in alphabetical order. Rather it goes based on the enemy's assigned number. Which is basically the order in which you see them.

Afterwards there's an entire section dedicated to Whyt and teaching him abilities. There are also secrets, though it's only a page long. Much of what Final Fantasy IV has to offer is actually covered in the walkthrough. Many of the optional things you can do are noted in the walkthrough as they come up in the quest.

There's really no big reason to buy a guide for Final Fantasy IV. That doesn't make the guide bad. Or even useless. If this is your first time through Final Fantasy IV and you're confused on where to go or what to do next, this guide is pretty helpful. If you mastered Final Fantasy IV inside out beforehand, then picking up the guide for all the new content probably isn't worth your while.』

(Really?)
『Don't buy this book. The quality of the information is average and it's really good for the main quest but all of the side quest info is scattered around. The book doesn't really show you good break points to do the side quests in order to save you time and with a game like this that requires you to trek on foot, the worst thing is going several hours out of your way to take on an optional boss and realize that you're not strong enough to take it out. There's way to much page flipping to find out what you need and some of the pages have information sections where it says please turn to page ???. Really, what the hell is the purpose of that?
The next problem and this is a killer, is the actual quality of the book. I had pages falling out left and right because of the really cheap binding. For a special edition, this whole book is really lacking and cumbersome when you're afraid the book is about to fall apart whenever you go to check the early pages or the bestiary. Terrible quality and the art book that comes with it is short and thrown together. Seriously, get the regular edition instead, why bother with a strategy guide that is difficult to use while playing and the horrible binding that adds insult to injury. The overall qaulity is very cheap, not worth it's price at all.』

(Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition-Strategy Guide (2 books))
『The CE-SG I purchased arrived in Mint-Uncirculated condition. Amazon really makes it easy to buy quality products on line and never had any problems over the years of buying from them. The Graphics Book has some very good quality art work ilustrations of the characters. The Strategy Guide goes into every detail of the game including main quest walk throughs and the many side quests and hunts. Weapons, Armor, and Magic are covered thouroughly as well as Gambits and their use. There are many tips and tricks throughout the Guide. General strategy and tactics are covered as well as detailed techniques for specific operations in quests. This CE-SG set will definitely help a gamer complete the game in a lot less time then without it. There are some spots in the game that can't be done with out information in the book in my opinion. This game is really for the dedicated game player who enjoys solving difficult circumstances and has a strong desire to win. The only flaw is that some of the print is very tiny to read and I had to use a magnifier.』

(Simply Beutiful)
『This strategy guide is a work of art, both literally and figuratively. The art book is amazing, and well worth the added cost. Also the Strategy guide has an interesting collectible cover idea to it.

As with all BradyGames strategy guides, the content delivers. This book gives the reader a good plan, whether it's a full walk-through of the game, or just a little tid bit of needed information. There's also just something about holding a book like this that blows online strategy guides out of the water.

I recommend it highly to those either stuck in the game, looking for an example of good art, or both for that matter.』

(Horrible! Missing info and type-os'!)
『This guide is horrible! It is the worst guide I've ever owned for any Final Fantasy game. I have had to restart this game THREE times (50+ hours of play in each attempt) because I had made a mistake or missed something, following the guide VERY closely. Here's a quick breakdown:

-Awful layout (poorly organized, you'll be going back and forth and back and forth)
-Full of Type-O's (will refer you to "see (???)," switched quickenings Luminesece and Whiteout, etc.)
-Excludes MAJOR information like entire sections/regions of map!
-Boasts an incomplete and incorrect bestiary
-Contains almost ZERO information on Bazaar Recipes (vital for obtaining ultimate weapons), something for which you will find 30+ pages of print for on online guides and walkthroughs
-Is MISLEADING! If you trust this guide to tell you when save/obtain an important item, take advantage of an important side quests (or any of the other things Walkthroughs are expected to do), you will find yourself starting over from the beginning over and over, because it just doesn't!

I don't know if this guide was rushed to print or what, but it has just been one disappointment after another.』

(A very helpful guide wrapped in a wonderfully artworked package!)
『This guide was excellent for my tastes in gaming! While the gambit system was not adequately explained (and I was a beginner when it came to gambits!) I thought that this book had quite the right balance between throughness of walkthrough and lack of spoilers.

Moreover, the extra mission/sidequest session was spot on! I've had some trouble tracking down a few of the hunt monsters (I don't think all of the probabilities of occurance are correct), but I've saved great headaches by having the guide by my side.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review
(Overall spectacular!)
『I read almost all the other reviews before purchasing this and that really helped persuade me to go through with it. Plenty of others said how good it was, and it really is, but I'll just say I wish there was some more concept art in here. Especially the characters. I was thinking it was going to show several drafts of each character before the final one was chosen. But I guess that would take too many pages, and maybe the developers would be giving away secrets if they published that.』

(Almost perfect, missed a few (important) characters)
『First of all, I will say the few things I wish were included on this art book.

- More pictures of Kuja's design.
- Pictures of Queen Brahne in the characters section.
- A picture of Zidane on trance form.
- More data to identify characters, name when possible, place where they are found when not (I am not sure if Puck appears in this book or not, and I have to check the in game graphics to know who other characters are).

That's it. Those are the points that make this book not reach the absolute perfection for me.

That said, I still love what is in the book! There are designs for many characters, even some who are not very important in the story, and there are different designs for the non-playable characters when they have variations in their clothes or hair.

The equipment section and the airship section have lots of details. Those are great for fan-artists!

The section with pictures from the in-game animations has a poster-like selection that will make you remember all those moments from the story.

I'm afraid that everything I say now will sound very fan-boyish, since Final Fantasy IX is my favorite of them all (beating Final Fantasy V, something I didn't thought was possible), so I hope what I have already said helps you somewhat in your decision to buy this book.』

(Awesome Book)
『I got this book through another online retailer for half the price these U&N people are selling for. You just need to shop around.

I'm an artist, and I have a fondness for the Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy IX was a challenge for me and after beating it, my claim is that it's the best in the series so far. After watching the last cutscene, I knew I had to have this book. I was very pleased when it arrived and have found it useful even today. FF9 is one of the most franchised game of the FF's(second to 7); I wouldn't waste that if you're a fan of it.』

(FF9 fans will be pleased.)
『It's got all the characters, all the settings, all the fun. FF9 was my favorited in the series so I just had to get this homage to it. It's just fun to look at the sketches and rough-drafts and such. The town designs are really amazing.

If you're a fan of the FF series, anime, or just incredible art, I suggest you check this out.』

(Beautiful, Just Beautiful Drawings from the Best)
『I love Final Fantasy!! I have been a die hard fan since part one was released in 1990. There are several books out that show the visual effects from the Final Fantasy series, but this one is by far the best. It is strait forward, art, from the original designer of FF characters, Yoshitaka Amano. Page for page you will see the steps that he followed making this characters shine.

The main reason that I took one star away was because most of the art in this book is finished up designs from Amano. I am a very big fan of his work, ex. Vampire Hunter D, FF1-6,and 9 adn several other Japaneese work. I enjoy his early sketches better, they are much more fantasy like. But that does not mean that this collection is not beautiful as printed.

This is a beautiful editon to any Final Fantasy collecton or just plain art or drawings collection. Dont pass this up.』

BradyGames The Art of FINAL FANTASY IX features an inside look at the stunning art from FINAL FANTASY IX. The book includes rarely-seen concept art and detailed pencil sketches, an immense collection of character art, airship and vehicle designs, monsters and unique weapon images, and full-page scenes from the most beautiful cinemas in video game history. Entertaining and informative commentary is provided as well as anecdotal captions relevant to story and events of FINAL FANTASY IX.

(play on)
『If you played all the other final fantasy games you will also love this one
I just got into it and I can't quick . So you will love this game too』

(Always a pain)
『I am a huge fan of final fantasy and after 6 years I decided to break down and buy ffxi. The main reason I did not previously is due to not having a 360 or pc capible of handing the game. When I first started the game was great and I found a group of other newbs to hang out with and do the early missions and quests with. The big problem I have is that after level 20 you need a party to do nearly everything, including level your job.

Finding a party can sometimes be difficult and frustrating. After a year of playing I still could not find anyone who would run the Chains of Promathia missions with me. Either the other players had done them and did not want to do them again or they just didnt want to do them at all. I at one time had 10 linkshells and still had a hard time finding anyone who wanted to do anything other than A: level or B: do dynamis (after level 65).

And dont even start me on the leveling. Its PAAAAAINFUL. It takes forever to level up a job. I have 2 jobs above level 60 (ninja and red mage) and when I found a party to work on leveling each party had a different idea of how you should play your job in that party. Then if you didnt play it exactly as they thought you should it caused inner party conflict (usually with someone who has a level 75 job and thinks they are the mmo god, you know "those types")

Anyways after about a year of frustration I finally quit the game and now look back on it with a sigh and wonder of why I wasted so much time.

Unless you have a group just starting together or willing to run missions and quests this game is not with the time. Try a non-mmo final fantasy for better game play and less frustration. Sure there is not as much to do, but u can level faster and at least you can do everything the game has to offer.』

(Best MMoRPG!)
『FFXI is for the ADVANCED MMoRPG gamer. A very difficult game for younger generations. A game made in Japan...where no detail is too small...a world where everything can affect you and you can affect everything. From the type of day, to the type of weather in your area, to who is in control of your region, to who you are invading- can affect the way you grow things, your craft, your mount raising, your magical attributes, what equipment/items are available to you. There is no way you can run out of things to do in this game. Tired of leveling? Start a craft, raise a mount(s), gain fame in your home country, fight against other players from opposing countries, work missions from your government to gain rank, join a guild, create a guild, run quests, defend outposts, invade enemy lands, expand your countries borders, gather with fellow adventurers to prevent cities from being overrun by beastmen(in a war-like battlefront) and even more!!! You will never find yourself in a position where there is nothing left to accomplish.

People interaction: There are no French servers; german servers; japanese servers; american servers. Everyone is all thrown in together from all over the world in several servers(servers for population control only). Communicate with people on the other side of the globe using in-game automatic translation dictionaries.

Lots of holiday events! Watch your home country decorated in lights and colors during christmas holidays or chase spooky ghosts huanting your town during halloween, or join in an easter hunt!

You will need help if you are barely starting this game as it is very different from other MMoRPGs(i.e. World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Everquest) Everything is original in this game. Be sure to make friends, join a guild/linkshell, or have friends join you as it can be EXTREMEMLY difficult to play on your own. Like I said, this is a game for the advanced MMoRPG gamer. *your game will start out in low quality, be sure to adjust your settings to your satisfaction*』

(Very bad online support)
『Bad support! I called them 4 times and waited for about an hour. They need some sort of 3D credit card verification. Bank of America MasterCard is not supported. I had several level 75 jobs. You can tell how much time I invested :(
I canceled my 3 accounts. I don't feel I missed it. I feel I enjoy my evening more after I quit.』

(Requires patience)
『This game can be slow through certain levels as you have to struggle through a lot of questing to obtain simple basic nessesities. Later in the game as you unlock new jobs and areas it begins to get interesting again. Unfortunately, this game has a slower pace than most games of its type and frequently is plodding or boring as it forces you into inactivity or semi-inactivity for extended periods of time.
Sadly, the one thing that used to make this game the most interesting, lots of interaction with other players, is severely deminished as FAR fewer people are playing this game so there is minimal interaction. Gone, it seems, are the 200+ member link groups and the support they offered.』

『Lose yourself inside the legendary Final Fantasy saga with this massive collection. The Final Fantasy XI: The Vana'diel Collection 2008 is a stunning assortment that includes the original Final Fantasy XI game, plus four expansion packs: Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urhgan and Wings of the Goddess. Start with Final Fantasy XI, where you'll be able to assume the role of a variety of unique characters. Customize your character's appearance and decide which abilities you find most important. Then develop your in-game persona to become more effective in battle. In the four expansion packs you'll encounter new personalities, take on new jobs and explore new areas. As you continue to master weapons, skills and magics, you'll become a bigger part of this amazing world. In Chains of Promathia, learn more about the fabled God of Twilight as well as the Emptiness, a sinister force that is gnawing away at the world. In Rise of the Zilart, assume the role of Samurai, Ninja or Dragoon and trek through 40 new areas. In Treasures of Aht Urhgan, test your skill as a Blue Mage, Corsair or Puppetmaster, and embark on new missions that will reveal the secrets of this mysterious land. Wings of the Goddess takes you to Vana'diel's rewritten history, where you'll participate in three intense campaigns. In the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion pack, become a Blue Mage, Corsair or Puppetmaster, and explore 40 new areas』

(Awsome!)
『This game is cool. If you like final fantasy I reccommend buying this. It has good grafics.』

(Literally a DS game)
『Okay. Just like I said, "Literally a DS game." All they did was take the DS game and make it playable on the Wii. This MIGHT be a worth while game for the DS, but on the Wii the graphics are awful and the levels are lame. I don't know what else to say other than don't bother reading more reviews. Save your self some time and move on. Do not buy this game.』

(Don't Buy for the Wii)
『This game was never meant to be played on a Wii. The format is obviously for DS games. I bought this to play online with my sister who lives a few hours away. The controls are very akward and while the story has promise, i was bored with the interaction and irratated with the controls.』

(Insult to the FF name)
『When I first realized there was a new FF:CC game out, I immediately rushed out to my local video game chain store to see if they had it in stock. They had both the Wii and DS versions, and since I own both, I figured I'd take advantage of my Wii since it'd probably be better. I couldn't have been more wrong.

First of all, if you don't have a big-screen TV (more than 32" at least), DO NOT BOTHER unless you're playing within two or three feet of the TV and/or have magnifying capabilities. This game is DEFINITELY a hack-job DS port. As many others have mentioned, it fills a small portion of the screen, leaving the rest with an ugly, ugly background - it's very reminiscent of playing a Game Boy game on the Super NES via the Super Game Boy for those old enough to remember them.

I played for about an hour, struggling through tiny text the whole way through before I just got sick of it. The resulting headache didn't help either. I have a 27" standard-definition TV that sits about 8' from my couch. This position works great for every other Wii game I have, as well as all my other consoles. With this game I had to sit in front of the coffee table (about 3' away from the screen) to even read the text. The constant zooming in/out of the two screens was annoying as well. If there was an option to hide one of the screens and make the other full-screen (like a more traditional game), it would've worked well.

To make an already long story short, I returned the game and exchanged it for the DS version. I played a little further into the game, and... I'm still disappointed. It's a very cookie-cutter game. The story is less than engaging. I was expecting an engaging experience on par with the prior FF:CC release, Rings of Fate. I couldn't put that game down!

In short, save your money. Buy a more interesting game, like "Grass Growing 2009" or "Extreme Paint Drying".』

cons

(One of the best)
『Some people liked FFIV better, but personally I loved FFV. I played the SNES years ago, and the improvements to this game make it even BETTER. Like all Advanced versions of the old FF games, this game has a Bestiary, and it's cool because you know which monsters carry rare treasures, plus the four new jobs that come with this Advance version are pretty neat. Like all other FF Advanced versions, the names of a few spells have changed as well as some monsters, but that does nothing to affect the quality of the game.

The bonus dungeon here is one of the best, period. There's a lot of cool treasures to be found within the Sealed Temple, though it is not without its challenges (you'll need a HIGH level to beat Enuo) Overall, FFV Advance is a worthy item for any Final Fantasy fan, and if you enjoyed FFV, you'll LOVE this Advanced version - goodness knows I did.』

(ff 5 gba review)
『having never played the original anthology version i can't say if this port improves upon it's pedecessor or not, what i will tell you is my opinion of this version.a lot of people give flack to the weak storyline but i think the storyline suffers more from being an average story sandwiched in between two epic ones.the story in my opinion should have followed after 3 as that game had a storyline while not childish wasn't as adult themed as 4 and 6. personally i love the story but i can see where others wouldn't quite so much. graphically the game starts out very bland with very basic landscapes but by the end in the n-zone the graphics are very well done,ff 7 this not but the it's hard not to fall in love with the sprites different job outfits and the creepy visuals on the trek to face ex-death. one thing everyone can agree on is the gameplay 4 and 6 paled in comparison with the depth of jobs, skills, and strategy this game contains configuring your jobs to beat neo-shinryu in the bonus dungeon is no easy task,i've even read posts on forums online from people who have given up trying to destroy him, but with the job system he is definatelly beatable.musically the game falls into the same trap as the gameplay they're nice, sometimes hauntingly beautiful but 4 and 6's music is much more cinematic and molded to fit teach scene like a glove.the bonus dungeon however drastically improves the gameplay to rival modern rpg standards, you even get to fight the villian enuo, the ancient evil mentioned many times in the story.it would have been nice to have frequent save points here as the encounter rate is very high here, though that can be fixed with the ability read ahead.here you face improved versions of omega and shinryu and if you're inclined the cloister of the dead pits you against a slew of previously defeated bosses.the bonus feature from ff 4 gba carry over here, nothing like marveling at your completed bestiary or enjoying the games music on the go.all in all this game had me playing non-stop and enjoying every minute of it. it may not be everyones favorite in the series but it's certainly the most fun especially now that it's portable.』

(Final Fantasy never disappoints!)
『I am a total fan of FF, starting with Tactics on PS2. That game was so cute to me and also so much to do! That is the best thing with these games; they take time, and thought (even with the mindless repetitive leveling up), and they are obviously made with care! Graphics are always outstanding. I think this game is just as cute, I personally like its story, and the lil facial expressions of the characters LOL.I'm just enchanted with this game and very glad I got it and will be getting the others for my DS also.

One Caveat: weird price fluctuation from $20 to $60 in one week?』

("I am Neo Exdeath...")
『This game, though not quite as great as IV was, is still an extremely fun game to play.

Alright, I will get the bad stuff out of the way first because the good outweigh the bad by far. It's basically the storyline and characters that made this game weak. First off, we have Bartz, the Class S Retard and one of the stupidest line-sayers ever. For instance, after Cid said (loosely), "We certainly served that overgrown cray fish," Bartz immediately responds, "With some mashed potatoes and cheese biscuits!" Okay, what the hell does that have to do with cray fish? Anyway, then we have Lenna the Class A Naive Princess, Galuf the Class A Retard, Faris the Class A Insecure Female, and Krile the Class S Ditz. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE EVIL THAT STALKS THE EARTH AND WISHES FOR POWER...Exdeath. Yeah, I built up the suspense on purpose. He's probably the worst villain in Final Fantasy I've ever played against (exactly, played against, I've never played Final Fantasy VIII yet so don't bother me about Ultimecia). His part in the storyline is to destroy all of the Crystals (yet again another recurring storyline).

Alright, now that that's out of the way, onto the good stuff. First of all, the ATB system (it is just that good to keep mentioning). Now, we have the more fluent job system. III did not have a very good job system. This one does. First of all, there are more jobs to pick from as you progress through the game. Second, every job has at least one valuable trait to it so that another job will not take its place. Third, when you learn an ability, you can take that ability and stick it on an unlikely job. For example (this is a classic example), a Black Mage who can Jump. There are literally hundreds of possibilities to customize a single person and the entire group. Try what feels best to you.

I feel that this game has some of the hardest superbosses anyone will ever meet in a Final Fantasy game. Omega and Shinryu are frighteningly more powerful than the final boss. And to add insult to injury, in the new Sealed Temple, they have more powerful counterparts, Omega Mk. II and Neo Shinryu. But, I think of this as exciting. I love to play difficult games with difficult bosses, and this is one of those games.

The music, though still as great as always, doesn't match up to the standards of IV or VI. But, the Boss Battle music BEFORE the last boss is awesome to listen to and is a very catchy tune.

This game is the first one to start the recurring boss trend. Gilgamesh fits this role perfectly and provides the comic relief some people want. His best phrase is, "Hasta la bye bye!" How's that for kooky comic relief?

To summarize, except for the storyline and the characters, this game is a great game to play. It is one of the most customizable games in the series, allowing hours of fun with those battles that make you grind your teeth.』

(Not Cliched'd; A Predecessor To The Greats!)
『This game is by far my most enjoyable experience when it comes to combat.

1. You can develop every character you have into whatever you want; women don't have to necessarily be healers this time around!

2. You have the ability to also combine a mastered skill to another skill; in such a way your black mage can have white mage abilities, and your thief can have blue mage abilities as well!

3. Equipment is restricted by class, but by the time you are at the end of the game, that changes with certain classes...

4. In this version of the game, they have added many more classes to the mix.

This game has a great storyline, but at times can be bland, but is still awesome.

1. This also sports one of the most memorable good cop/bad cop villain of all time: Gilgamesh! He also has one of the most memorable themes of any Final Fantasy (that is, if you've played many different FF games).

2. This game is also very comedic (at least in my opinion).

The music is alright, but none of them stick out very much; it must be because they're all good! Nah, it's not the most memorable music-wise, except for the few such as "battle on the bridge," but it also isn't bad, like in FF 3.

Graphic-wise, it's updated from it's past-updates. Don't compare it with PS2 FF's because, of course, they don't compare, but appreciate it as a close interpretation from the original.

TL;DR, any RPG fan will LOVE this game! Any newcomers to RPG's will find the transgression from learning different combat aspects of this game very easy to swallow (but hard to master). A great game for all!』

『Final Fantasy V Advance is now available to handheld gamers! Five characters try to save the world from an evil sorcerer known as Exdeath. Train them for a wide variety of job classes, then lead them into battle to use their special abilities and skills. A host of brand-new elements have been seamlessly merged with the original game, providing unexpected surprises for longtime fans. With new dungeons, new job classes, and other exciting features, both old-school players and newcomers can enjoy this genre-defining Final Fantasy title in a portable format!』
