I am not only surprised that I am the first to review this product but also disappointed that I had not found this recording sooner. David Sanger plays the monumental pieces featured on this compilation with extreme care and expertise. Despite the demanding nature of many of Franck's organ pieces, Sanger is able to showcase the music's emotional qualities (as any well-performed Franck piece must) and is able to captivate the listener through the many registration and dynamic alterations found throughout the recordings. (He is faithful, for the most part, to Franck's original registration notations found in the scores.) While expression is, of course, necessary, the only possible issue I could find is that on certain pieces you must increase the volume in order to hear the soft passages while you must then turn it down once the music reaches louder passages. This concern has not been serious enough, however, to greatly impair my enjoyment of the album. I have not once regretted purchasing this album, as it has undergone much use.』 タイトル『 Final Fantasy V Original Sound Version >

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (FF at it's best) 『In my personal opinion, this is Nobuo Uematsu's best soundtrack ever. Some may disagree, either for not playing the game, bad sound system or for some other reason, but trust me, this is *awesome* music here. First, you've got the main theme, "Ahead on Our Way", one heck of an upbeat-ish song, and brilliantly composed. After that are many variations of the song scattered throughout the soundtrack: "Lenna's Theme", "The Day Will Come", "Four Valient Hearts", all of which are awesome. As for "The Dragon Spreads Its Wings", now I am truly breathless. The first one sounds really nice, but it's the variation, "The New Origin", that really takes the cake. It's strong, powerful, and it's got Nobuo written all over it. Anyone who says this sound system isn't great should listen to *this* song. There are many other songs that are good too. The Final Fantasy theme is also here, of course, and while it isn't the strong impact version, it's more than beautiful.
So whatever the reason for not liking this soundtrack, listen to it again. Even I didn't like it at first, but after throughly listening to it I have to say this is the most brilliantly composed music I've ever heard. It only could've been done by only one man: Nobuo Uematsu.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Where did my previous review go?) 『I wrote a review of this a while back and now it seems to be missing. At any rate, stay away from this piece of garbage. Having been a long-term horror fan, it really says something when a guy like me gets grossed out because a movie is about baby after innocent, defenseless baby being killed. And all because they are SUPPOSEDLY the second coming of Christ. Let me ask you this: if you were Christ and you wanted to come back because Damien was the anti-you, would you come back as a creature that was too weak to fend for itself? Of course not!!! You would come back as an adult so you could have at least a 50-50 chance of winning! In other words, the filmmakers made a conscious choice to have babies as the main victims in this movie. Sick, sick, sick!!!!』
(One of the worst movies I have ever seen...) 『And that's no lie. I recently decided to watch the entire Omen series and then review them in order. When I hit this one I realized I had made a big, big mistake.
Not unlike Damien: Omen II, Omen 3: The Final Conflict flashes forward to another period of Damien's life. Now in his thirties, Damien is the head of Thorn Industries and has just been appointed a US ambassador. As it was foretold in the original Omen, he is steadily rising to the top of the political world where he will soon usher in his father's rule. But all that changes when a particular constellation signals the second coming of Jesus Christ himself, threatening all Damien has worked for. To nip this problem in the bud, Damien simply calls upon his followers to carry out a mass marder of all male infants born at a certain time. Meanwhile a band of vigilante priests have recovered the seven daggers necessary to destroy Damien and plot to take him out.
What a hopeless bomb of a movie. One of the most convoluted plots ever weighed down further by horrid acting, dead slow pacing, and more plot holes than you can shake a stick at. Lets put it this way, if the final battle between heaven and hell induces yawns, then it's safe to say that something here isn't being presented very effectively. Even the great death sequences that have become a trademark of The Omen series are completely absent here. We have a priest falling off a bridge into some water, a hound dog attack, maybe a stabbing...That's about as creative as this one gets. The vast majority of the movie is Damien sitting in his office barking orders at his personal secretary and occasionally spouting off sacreligious banter at a crucifix. Believe me, it's as exciting as it sounds.
There's really no way I could recommend this to even the most hardcore Omen fan. This has strayed so far from what made the original great that it's almost unrecognizable as an Omen movie. There are really only two things that remain consistent throughout the Ome series: The Jerry Goldsmith music score, and each movie is half as good, (or twice as bad) as the last.』
(Part 3! 3 Stars!) 『Sorry, but I have to talk for a moment about the concept of the "Part 3". I like watching Part 3s, especially Part 3s to successful, blockbuster flicks. By the time you get to a Part 3 in a series, the screenwriters are trying their damnedest to put a new spin on the story and take it in a different direction to separate it from the first. This usually results in laughable, silly and outrageous ideas on film. After all, everything cool and worthwhile was in Part 1, and sometimes you can wring a few interesting concepts from a Part 2, but by Part 3 you're really stretching it(and of course even more so if more sequels are made). Stuff like Star Wars and Back to the Future don't count coz they were envisioned as trilogies from the getgo. But Part 3s can be very fun to watch in their own right. They might be bad films(in rare cases they are better than the Part 2), but can be enjoyed in a different way than the first film was enjoyed. It's because of Part 3s that Rocky is getting thrown out of the ring by Hulk Hogan, and that Superman is teaming up with Richard Pryor and dealing with an evil twin. It's also the reason Karate Kid 3 ended up being Karate Kid 3. Well, in this case of Part 3s, I'm talking about the Antichrist. No, not Will Farrell, good ol' Damien from The Omen. In the Final Conflict he has managed to go from 5 to 32 years old in the space of 5 years. He is now reigning king of Thorn Industries and ambassador to Great Britain. He gets a bit worried when he finds out that Christ has recently been reborn, and sends his "Disciples of the Watch"(Ha! Now I know where Testament got that!) to kill all babies born on that particular day. If that weren't stressful enough for the Antichrist, there's a gang of Antichrist hunters out to assassinate him. Armed with those daggers that were given to Gregory Peck in the first film, they periodically attack, only to fail of course. Besides, wasn't this act supposed to be carried out on hallowed ground? Oh well, it's a Part 3. There's also a reporter who has the hots for Damien, then eventually realizes who he is, but by that time her son has been brought into the Antichrist fold. Damien also introduces her to the wonderful world of rough sex. This movie is okay. It's not terribly exciting, but just interesting enough to make you want to see it through. Yes, some new concepts are thrown in, but this movie really doesn't feel like a horror film at all, and that's a far cry from the first Omen. I've always really liked Sam Neill, but it's difficult for me to buy him as the Antichrist. He's too nice or something. He seems more just like a corrupt and shrewd corporate headhoncho than the son of the devil. Plus, you'd think the "final conflict" between Jesus and the Antichrist would be a bit more epic. I mean, this is the battle of all battles, baby!! This should be Cecil B. Demille on friggin' steroids. This should make Lord of the Rings look like Deathstalker 4. Oh, well. I guess for a movie that was pretty unnecessary to begin with, it wasn't all that bad.』
(Omen 3: The Final Conflict (1981)-Not bad for number 3.) 『Omen 3: The Final Conflict (1981) was a four star sequel and pretty darn good for number three in any series. The best thing about this film was that it introduced many of us to Sam Neill who was quite good in the role of Damien. After this movie I started taking note of all the films that he made.』
(Very Impressive OMEN) 『I think this is the best of the OMEN trilogy. It is definitely the most believable for this genre. Sam Neil is very good as Damien. Powerful Gerry Goldsmith score and great cinematography and atmosphere are outstanding. There is gratuitous violence and killings along the way but these are played down and are very low-key compared to this film's predecessors. For instance, the outrageous violence was the focus of the second OMEN film. This film puts these on the backburner and focuses on the central characters and theme. This is a very impressive film.』 『TheOmenseries concludes with this second sequel, starring Sam Neill as the adult Damien--a.k.a. the son of Satan--in a battle with the heavens for control of mankind. The film ends up depending more heavily on effects and spectacle than on the kind of basic horrors that made the first movie in the series so unsettling, but at least this one gives some closure to the seemingly endless saga.--Tom Keogh』

(What can be said regarding DVDs?) 『My spouse likes the Urban Legend series so we ordered them.』
(Fading Fast) 『I really enjoyed the first film, it had some interesting killings, some humor and a generally original premise. The second one was not as much fun following the same idea. The third seemed like a really bad low budget mess. I would normally say to just pick up the first film, but since it seems to go for over 20 dollars by itself, you might as well pick up a 3 pack for a bit more. You may end up enjoying the 2 sequels more than I did.』
(Great Horror flicks) 『The 1st one is Excellent, The Second one is BLAHHHH but funny and fun to watch, the third one is better then the second one but not better then the first one lol』
(An underrated series of slasher films - the original is brilliant) 『I don't think the Urban Legends series gets the attention it deserves. The quality of the films goes down with each sequel (with the third having nothing at all to do with the first two films), but it's still a darn good trio of horror movies. This is a great buy for those who don't already have all three films (especially the first two) in their DVD libraries.
Most of my high regard for the series is due to the original. Far from being a Scream clone, it is one of the most impressive slasher films of recent years, in my opinion. The suspense is sustained throughout, the identification of the killer is handled superbly, and the ending is well-nigh perfect. A serial killer who constructs his/her kills on urban legends - fantastic. Maybe it's not a wholly original idea, but no film had ever taken the premise to the extreme the way Urban Legend did. Among the talented cast, Alicia Witt and Rebecca Gayheart give particularly impressive performances. Gayheart in particular really expanded her acting repertoire with this film. The less talented cast members, as it turns out, were pretty much the first to be dispatched, and this works out well. It's always nice when a particularly annoying character you expect to have to deal with until the end gets offed in the first half hour. All told, I actually consider Urban Legend to be a much more original, shocking, effective film than any of the Scream movies it is invariably compared to. The final revelations of this film, as I have already mentioned, took me completely by surprise, and that really doesn't happen all that often.
Urban Legends Final Cut is a movie about a movie, basically, and this little twist to the classic horror formula plays out rather well. At the country's most distinguished film-making school, the Hitchcock Award for best student movie is the ultimate accomplishment, all but guaranteeing the winner a quick jump to a directing chair in Hollywood. The protagonist, Amy, decides to break away from her documentary roots and produce a horror movie, one in which a serial killer patterns his murders on urban legends. As Amy begins filming, several of her fellow students are murdered, and eventually the killer comes after her. All told, this is a better-than-average slasher film, combining good acting, great special effects, and an actual storyline that doesn't reveal its most important secrets until the very end. The special effects are pretty good, and there is a nice variety to be found in the urban legend-based murders. The movie has its lighter side, as well, obviously not taking itself too seriously. The movie could be considered rather Scream-like, but it has enough character of its own to succeed in its own right - but it's not as good as the original.
Urban Legends - Bloody Mary was a direct-to-video release that really had nothing to do with the first two films. While the film falls far short of its predecessors, Urban Legends - Bloody Mary isn't all that bad, though. It has some definite weaknesses, but it also has a nice sampling of blood and gore. There are many variations on the old Bloody Mary story, but it makes for classic urban legend fare. Look in the mirror, say Bloody Mary's name three times, and she appears - and then the fun begins. Apparently, a mirror isn't actually required after all, as young Samantha Owens conjures the restless spirit without one after hearing the story of a local girl supposedly killed back in 1969 - and disappears until the next day. Those responsible for Samantha's disappearance start dying, in rather gruesome ways, which makes Sam and her brother David (whom some blame for the murders) exceedingly unpopular at school. By about the second murder, the whole urban legend m.o. is applied rather loosely, but there's still the Bloody Mary connection. Samantha comes to believe that the killer is the ghost of Mary and that she is killing the children of those responsible for her death. There's no denying that Urban Legends - Bloody Mary is an exceedingly predictable little film. Mary's killer might as well have walked around with the words "I did it" on his forehead. There are some decent-sized holes in the plot, as well. Still, I enjoyed this movie. The special effects for Bloody Mary herself are pretty good, and the deaths are reasonably gory (although we sometimes only see the aftermath of them). You really have to judge this film on its own merits, though, as it really has next to nothing to do with the first two Urban Legends movies.』 『Urban legends urban legends: the final cut and urban legends: bloody mary Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 12/26/2005』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Waste of Time) 『What a terrible movie! 108 minutes of my life I will never get back again! It's easy to see why this never got any theatrical release - it would have been laughed out of theaters. Why anyone would waste their time on a 5-disk set of this boring, long, empty movie is beyond my understanding. I guess sometimes style wins over substance, but in this case there was no style to redeem the movie, either. I think the shots of Chelsea Field wandering in the desert were actually reality shots - of her trying to escape the set, and get off the movie!
Beware - unless this is the first horror/thriller movie you've ever seen, unless you have never seen even a half-way decent movie before, you will be bored to death. Avoid, at all costs.』
(Strange movie with one . . .) 『Strange movie with one redeeming value - this three disc set includes 'The Secret Glory', which is the story of Otto Rohm and his pursuit of the Holy Grail - a pursuit which comes to the attention of the Third Reich leaving him with the unfortunate circumstance of receiving a recruiting offer that he can not refuse . Part Scientist, part Occultist and in no way prepared for the Politics of dealing with an Organization he can never possibly understand or comply with . He finds himself being offered the oppurtunity and financial support he never would have had on his own but with perilous strings attached . Worth buying just to get this disc . Elegantly and hauntingly filmed with an eery backdrop on screen while subtitled in English throughout (the interviews are in German, French and English but with heavy German accents - making the subtitles necessary) . This second disc in the three disc set is well worth seeing .』
(Welcome To Bethany...) 『A wayward, shape-shifting demon (Robert John Burke) does what he must to escape our material plane. What does this require? Why, serial-murder of course! Not just any kind of killing however. No, The Dust Devil must use his victims in archane rituals, where blood-letting (along w/ other body fluids) is a sacred rite. To him, we are fleshly keys to help him unlock his only means of accessing the spiritual realm. Enter Wendy (Chelsea Field), a woman who is also trying to escape something. In her case, it's her marriage, and the abuse that came w/ it. Her path will intersect with the Dust Devil's trajectory in the Namibian town of Bethany. Meanwhile, a cop named Ben (Zakes Mokae) is trying his best to do two things. One is to track down the infamous serial-killer, the other is to endure life without his long lost wife and son. These three beings- the demon, the woman, the man -will meet in a desert ghost-town in order to fulfill their destinies. DUST DEVIL is an outrageously overlooked horror masterpiece. I never tire of watching it, and highly recommend it. Richard Stanley (Hardware) has come up with a truly original and engrossing tale of life, death, and the supernatural, all played out in the barren african wastes left by generations of war. The landscape is captured beautifully, making africa seem more like the planet Mars than any earthly environment. DUST DEVIL should be owned by all horror maniacs! This one is in my top five...』
(A true hidden gem in the world of cinema.) 『The best way to describe this flick is a spaghetti western horror/fantasy set in the deserts of South Africa. It is truly amazing. The visuals and sounds are magnificent and give the film a unique feel. There is NO other film like this. All it takes is a few frames of the film to realize you are watching Dust Devil. I randomly saw this on TV while I was in the Philippines, and I was hooked. I purchased this DVD as soon as I found out there WAS a DVD! If you like horror, westerns, monster movies, and/or great movies, you owe it to yourself to see this flick!』
(Are you going to shoot me? F#@k yes!) 『This was recommended to me by my good friend and Amazon bud, Clint Bronson. He thought I would like it since I like horror movies with serial killers and (since I am a photographer), the beautiful cinematography. HE DID NOT STEER ME WRONG! This is by far one of the most visually perfect horror movies I ever saw.
The movie takes place in the wilds of South Africa. An American drifter and serial killer (Robert John Burke) takes to South Africa. He roams the desert, taking photos of his victims before he kills them in a ritualistic way. The first one he makes beautiful love to (and he, Dust Devil is quite handsome) and then snaps her neck. He then dismembers her and paints pictures on the wall with her blood and other products added to it, and simply moves on to the next victim. In the mean time, a unhappy housewife, Wendy (Chelsea Field), decides to leave her husband and find herself in the South African desert. She meets Dust Devil when she picks him up hitchhiking. Their paths cross a few times, she is taken in by him, but then finds out what he does. The rest is a journey to find just who or what Dust Devil is.
I found the cinematography to be visually perfect. Yes, this movie had gore, but was so well put together, directed and photographed that I really didn't see it as that gory. I saw it as a beautiful film.
I highly recommend this to any horror fans or fans that love excellent cinematography. This movie held my interest and definitely is one of the better horror films of modern times.
Also thanks M. for having it on your wish list, Clint might not have seen it. And Main Man thanks for reinforcing me to watch this! Again, my Amazon friends have not steered me wrong. BUY THIS MOVIE! 』 『As noted by Richard Stanley fans,Dust Devil, the feature following his box-office hitHardware, failed to find release, and when it did, a terrible edit drastically altered the story. Subversive Sinema has now released the director-approved final cut ofDust Devil, in a box set that also contains Dust Devil's working edit, the film's Sergio Leone-like soundtrack, and three riveting Stanley documentaries:The Secret Glory,Voice of the Moon, andThe White Darkness.Dust Devil, a horror story based on the myth of a Namibian serial killer, looks more like a Western. Filmed on location in Africa where the murders allegedly took place, Chelsea Field plays Wendy Robinson, a woman, who under duress of leaving her husband, heads out to the desert to accidentally encounter the Dust Devil (Robert John Burke), a mercy killer who slays depressed women to save them from the dark side. According to locals, the Dust Devil is a demon, enabling Stanley's abiding interest in world folk religions to weigh heavily in on the plot, especially when the town's witch doctor visits the beyond to unlock mysteries, or when the Dust Devil displays a box containing his victims' fingers. The documentaries, however, are most exciting. The White Darknessunravels political and social aspects of Haitian Voudon, including the history of American Imperialism in Haiti, as told by skilled priest and priestess, Altes Paul and Edelle.Voice of the Moonshows footage of Afghani rebels in the late '80s, sans narrator, instead beautifully accompanied by native music and poetry, adding Herzogian emotional effect. The Secret Glorypieces together the story of Otto Rahn, an SS officer who thought he'd located the Holy Grail. There are less quests for 1-2 people, and more time spent forming groups. Experience points mostly comes from fighting monsters in 6 man groups for 2-3 hours. NPCs are more memorable and their personalities plays a big part in the game's quests. Equipment is more precious, and advanced players will be familiar with the pros and cons of each piece. This game is more "hard core", and I wouldn't recommend it for casual players that want to stay casual.
Wings of the Goddess adds more options for the high level solo player. The additions are not as popular as Treasures of Aht Urghan expansion, but very nice. Campaign gives nice options for instant action.』
(By far better than the other Exp! (if u a FFXI lover)) 『For real this expansion ain't that much, just added few new stuff and areas from the past (pretty cool story line and view). But the good thing it has is the ability to get exp/merits soloing con Campaign, and i mean huge exp, not like ballista's one (talking over 2k). The new dnc job gaves hours of soloing fun even when subed. I think this expansion made the game a lit more fun again! just my 2 cents!』
(My Review) 『I love Final Fantasy XI but this expansion is lacking.. I guess we have to wait for more updates and additions to it. Campaign is pretty much the only thing going for it so far.. and the ability to get the two additional new jobs Dancer and Scholar.』
(MMO'ing) 『This is the latest expansion pack for the final fantays series and only MMO in the category. FFXI was released to the US in october 26th of 2001. At $12 a month is a relyable worthy mmo. FFXI consists of Community, Comunication, Friends, It is also a visiously time consuming game. If you have a lot of time in your hands I recomend this game. In addition, FFXI is NOT a solo game, so if you like to do things on your own I recomend you find another. This game is great in community, friends, and has an INCREDIBLE ammount of quests, missions, crafts, levels which is preaty much imposible to complete this game unless you have been playing since 2001 althoug the missions are realy great and follow awsome stories, each mission set follows its own story so it becomes like beating the game for each story while aquiering great items, gear, and equipment. Finaly, This game is highly checked uppon by Square and will not allow RMT nor HAX to function for any time at all. so the game dose not become corrupted.
Overall GREAT GAME if you have time in your hands. Buzy ppl should stay away from this one. AND like SE States in the login screen "Don't forget your family and friends(real life)" or something like that lol』
(WotG Pretty Cool) 『I haven't ventured far into this expansion yet, just unlocked the Dancer job, but from what I've seen, some great new storyline is there along with fun new jobs and abilities. The cutscenes and music are really cool!』 『Final Fantasy XI Wings of the Goddess PC』 『Experience the next chapter in the immersive and ever expanding world of Vana'diel inFinal Fantasy XI Online: Wings of the GoddessExpansion Pack*, a content-rich expansion pack that brings exciting new features to the world ofFinal Fantasy XI. Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great case, great design, great price, and a stylus!) 『This is a great case for the nintendo ds lite system. It fully covers the ds except for all ports, which are (obviously necessarily) left uncovered. It is very easy to put on and take off, and it does not scratch the ds in any way while doing so. To top it off, it comes with an extendable stylus! Much, much more comfortable than the regular size ones.
The case also has a great Final Fantasy IV design on it, although the Hori company does make the same case in clear, translucent black, translucent pink, two nintendogs styles, and a super mario style. I have a metallic rose ds lite, and the purple of the Final Fantasy design goes great with it. Also, the design is inside the plastic, so it will not wear or scrape off. Very durable product.』
(Nice Protector Kit) 『The kit works well and does it's job. It also looks quite awesome. The only problem I have with it is that I keep it in my back pack and dirt gets between the ds and the protector and I have to take it off every so often to wipe the dirt off. Other than that great item for a good price.』
(Personalize&Protect Your Nintendo DS) 『Like most of the Nintendo DS protectors available, this Final Fantasy IV inspired one will protect your DS from scratches, while at the same time expressing your love of one of the greatest RPGs ever made.
The protector leaves all of the DS controls and ports available, though due to the plastic's thickness, the volume control is a bit tougher to work than I'd like. The Final Fantasty IV logo design is printed on the underside of the plastic, meaning it won't be easily scratched off by wear. The stylus can be extended in length as well, which may make it easier to use for some people.
One last bonus is that the cover adds a bit of "heft" to the DS, making it easier to hold for someone with big hands like me.』
(Make your DS look cooler!) 『The FF IV proector kit is sturdy and does not block any port openings on your DS. The Graphic is very nice as well and the extra long stylus is a nice touch.』 『Protector Case / Adjustable Stylus Pen Shorten your adjustable stylus pen to insert into your Nintendo DS Lite!』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great Fun) 『This is a great expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI. Our household has enjoyed it greatly』
(Great expasion!) 『The inclusion of campaign has pretty much removed the player's dependency on parties (at least at higher levels). The ability to log on, play for 15 minutes or so and actually get something done is what this game has been lacking, but now it's there. The new job Dancer is absolutely amazing. Scholar has yet to impress me, but others seem to like it.』
(It a Neverending Saga That Blows You Beyond Inmagination!) 『As a great fan of Final Fantasy Games, this one still cuts the cake, can't get enough of it! has strong emotion and topic regarding medieval times and brings it to life in this awesome game! Must have to own!』
(Great expansion!) 『So far...well even though Square Enix usually takes a year to fully implement an expansion pack I have to say that this one is great out of the box. Dancer and Scollar are nifty additions to the existing job pool and the whole past concept is great so far.
New players should get the Vana'deil Collection 2008 as this disk alone will not allow them to play the game. It should also be noted that this is not compatable with the PS2 thin models due to the lack of a Hard Drive and a way to install one...』 『Experience the next chapter in the immersive and ever-expanding world of Vana'diel in Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess, a content-rich expansion pack that brings exciting new features to the world of Final Fantasy XI.
