(Love It!)
『This has been a great addition to my collection. I love every song and it sure does bring back a lot of memories. It is nice to know they put this much effort into the production of the music. I would only have to say there is two problems and that is not enough music and too much comentary. Hated having to skip over that just to get to the music. Guess if I ever finish learning how to speak Japanese I might enjoy that part too. All in all I would suggest this to anyone who is a fan of the final fantasy series.』

(Wonderful CD)
『I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys Final Fantasy. The live concert is absolutely wonderful. The emcees is no help if you don't understand Japanese, but the music will completely take you away. I also recommend Distant Worlds, the two of them have become my favorite albums.

DO NOT BUY FROM ITUNES! These albums can only be enjoyed with CD's clarity. iTunes versions do not nearly have the clarity that these CD's have. Once you hear the difference on a good set of speakers, you won't regret it.』

(Fantastic)
『I absolutely love this CD. It has all the major classic final fantasy songs that Nobuo Uematsu has composed in an awesome orchestrated form. If you like the decked-out classical sounding versions of final fantasy music, then buy this CD, you won't be sorry. This is NOT for those who want the exact in game versions, the quality is much different.』

(Like being at the orchestra)
『I saw the Detroit Symphony Orchestra perform Uematsu's music and that was one of the most beautiful and memorible experiences I can think of. These CDs are so clear in giving the voicing for each and every single instrument that it takes you right into the auditorium as if the symphony were right there with you.

I have the FFX and FFXI full soundtracks and the sound of the orchestra concert just blows both of those away in terms of clarity of sound and the feel of have a full orchestra and the full range of music.』

(A Must-Have!)
『This 2-Disc set features the musical highlights of all the "Final Fantasy"-Games I - X. Recorded live in Japan, this CD represents the first video game music concert in the world - with amazing orchestral arrangements and an impressing choir, this CD features nothing but pure musical delight - for die hard fans as well as for people completely unfamiliar with Final Fantasy. Each song sends a new shiver down the spine, especially fans will know what I'm talking about. Of course the famous "One-Winged Angel", one of the most popular video game music pieces out there, is featured here in an excellent version, but more softer themes like "Aerith's Theme" are beautiful as well. The two vocal tracks ("Isnt it beautiful" from FFX and "Melodies of Life from FFIX") are great highlights. The only thing on this CD that can become a little annoying are the long moderations of the two hosts of the evening (the japanese voice actors for Tidus and Yuna from FFX), but they always set the right mood for the musical enjoyment that is about to follow, even if you don't understand any Japanese. So, I recommend EVERYONE to buy this perfect compilation/concert NOW - you definately won't regret it!!!』
『Japan exclusive album recorded live at Tokyo International Forum on February 20, 2002. Guest artists include Eimiko Shiratori, Rikki, Aki Kuroda (pianist), et al. Also includes MC parts with Mayuko Aoki (voice of Yuna from FFX)&Seiichi Morita (voice of Tidus). It's virtually a best-of Final Fantasy compilation, incorporating tracks from Final Fantasies I through X. 2004.』
『Two CD Release featuring Live Recordings of Final Fantasy Songs Performed at Tokyo's Kokusai Form Concert. Features Vocal Performances by Emiko Shiratori and Rikki, Piano Performances by Aki Kuroda, and the Toyko Philharmonic Orchestra.』

(Phase 6 of "Final Fantasy", a nice collection of anime.)
『I had to purchase the next phase to keep my collection going. Artwork getting better.』

(Interesting beginning, get more interesting moving forward, disappointing ending)
『I have been a Final Fantasy fan since version 1 of the game came out for the NES. I played through all the other FF games and loved each and one of them. Just because they are amazing developing games, it does not mean that they would do well developing movies or anime.

I got the movies through Netflix so I can watch them with my kids when I get home from work and relax. In the beginning of the story, it gave some scenes of war and destruction. The startoff was slow and have some mysteries like who is the adult woman hanging around with the two kids and who is the man with tha ma gun that always seems to show up when they are in trouble. It is very interesting to see what kind of summon comes out of the ma gun on pretty much every single episode, but the summoning takes like 10 minutes. Most of the creatures seems to be from FF7.

As the series go on, it reveal more information about some of the main characters. Toward the end, the plot is revealed but yet the end is disappointing because the watchers are wondered "what happened". It is like going to a roller coaster ride where right toward the end, it just stop and everybody get off.

I originally got the first DVD from the Block Buster bargain bin, and that should have been a flag that this is not really that good. Watch it if you have time to kill, otherwise you might be better off watching other anime like Full Metal Alchemists, Kenshin, etc.

(The Final Fatasy Games Maybe Great Bud Sadly This Anime Isn't)
『I bought this set during the X-mas sale online and for $20 dollars I felt it was an o.k. price but after seeing the series through I feel I'm now going to sale this to a movie store. I know the series focused mostly on the two children trying to find their parents but I also thought there would either be some cameos from characters of the games are have some references to the game worlds, sadly there was neither and the animation while not horrible wasn't anything to be proud of either. The voice actors for the Japanese cast did do a great job for their character roles sadly the dubbed English voice cast while not the worst of the lot leave a lot to be desired. Also again with some anime you just don't really feel any empathy for most of these characters, if one was killed or hurt so what? The storyline itself isn't to bad and if you've never played the games and are looking for a unique anime here's a decent one, but if you have played the game and are looking for some kid of reference to the games or game characters you'll be sadly disappointed. So at the end is this series worth getting will that's up to the person themselves, if you're looking for a fantasy anime with magical battles this might pique your interest, but if you're a longtime Fina Fantasy gamer you most likely want to just pass this series over....』

(Found It)
『I had been looking for this disc every where. I couldn't find it on any of the more famous anime vendor websites, nor could I find it in any of my local anime stores. I can't believe that I was able to find this Disc on amazon.com. I happened upon it by chance while searching for other Final Fantasy products and now this will be the first place I look if I ever need a DVD.』

(Don't look for the Game Series in this series...)
『I understand what people have been saying about it not being what they expected. Expectations greatly influence how we perceive products to be. However, this series is incredible. Though it is sometimes cheesy, it manages to have just that right amount to make it wonderful. The music is great, and the characters hilarious. There is not much in common with the FF game series, but when you take this as a separate whole, it doesn't matter. This series is fun, entertaining, appropriate for all ages, and great, as long as you aren't expecting another "Advent Children" out of this.』
『Studio: Adv Films Release Date: 03/02/2004 Run time: 100 minutes』
『Twelve-year-old twins Ai and Yu Hayakawa take a mysterious subway to Wonderland to look for their missing scientist-parents. Wonderland is a hostile place, ruled by the petulant Earl Tyrant and his assorted hench-creatures. Ai and Yu are attacked by monsters and saved first by Lisa, a practitioner of the "Kigen Arts," then repeatedly by the taciturn, gun-totting Kaze. The first episodes are cluttered with characters who appear briefly then vanish. Although Ai, Yu, and Lisa do a lot of traveling, the series doesn't really go anywhere: the filmmakers seem more interested in showcasing the elaborate CG effects at their disposal than in coherent storytelling. The effects are very flashy, but they never meld satisfactorily with the drawn animation. Based on the popular videogame franchise,Unlimitedborrows from Matsumoto'sGalaxy Expressand Miyazawa'sGalactic Railroad, but offers none of their mystery and magic. (FINAL EXAM SCORES AN F)
『I am a huge slasher fan and i couldnt wait to get this movie, i love most slashers from the heydey of 1978-83. i anxiously laid down my cash and took this movie home i popped it in the player only to be heavily dissapointed, there is no blood and the killer is not scary he also is revealed during the whole thing , dont get me wrong you dont need blood to make a good slasher Black christmas for example, this is no Black christmas, the only reason i give it 2 stars is the fact somebody thinks this is classic 2 stars for building an undeserved reputation.』

(Right Time at the Wrong Time)
『Were at Lanier College the pranks are going strong and the pledge people are taking a dive in their wrong way.A college student very nice nieve type of guy ( Radish)calls the sherif and strongly reports a rampage of gangsters shooting a bunch of students around the outside grounds of the school ,it turns out to be a prank by these college punks.Little do they know a psyco killer is on the urge of gathering his college pranksters in his reality way. So crying wolf begins again when Radish reacts strongly on the phone but back fires at the wrong time.Yes this budget of a film is a slasher to get even.To me this story seems like a typical horror suspense type of action. It makes you think of the character whos crazy it doesnt get to the point if this maniac went to this college. He could of been a student or a crazy professor. This film has its romantic ways of college girls getting what they want for good grades,a type of real know it all macho guys that feel they own the campus and get their nightmare at the end. This film rolls to its climax as a sweet college student fights for her life to get even with the maniac when all her dear friends are plemished.A film like this compare to others Ive seen end off with a strong individual woman that survives.Shes passive but strong willed.Low buget you bet it is!But a good story.I recomend mostly.』

(Very good-but suffers from Self-Imposed Limitations)
『I liked this film. It is aimed directly at the slasher audience. For me, at least, it was an effective slasher film.I guess different people prefer different things. It is not the goriest, although there are a few brutal moments. But it has the sort of ambience I like. The action unfolds as a killer stalks people on a relatively small college campus. The pace is natural and subdued, as we watch the students going about their business during the day.......and as we see the killer arrive on campus and begin stalking them.

You get a typical collection of the usual stock characters-the 'nice' girl, the cheap blonde, the obnoxious athletes, and the stupid hillbilly cop.Of course, what would a film about young people be without-you guessed it-the requisite bespectacled geek. In this movie, the geek is a sort of Alpha geek. A time or two, it actually seems that the heroine might be showing a glimmer of interest in him. And he comes painfully close to getting to play hero......but he IS a geek, and this IS a movie, so you can guess how that turns out.

Anyhow, I liked this film quite well. But it seems to me that it places restrictions on itself that keep it from being as good as it could have been. For example:

This movie features a killer with no apparent motive. I have no problem with that. I actually like it. But I believe that killers in slasher films should wear a mask. This serves to heighten the mystery that surrounds the figure, and makes him a bit more macabre. Now, the killer in this movie is a big, burly guy. He's rough, and he's violent. But he would be so much more interesting if he wore a mask. As it is, he just looks like some disgruntled guy who got laid off from the mill or something.

My other pet peeve about Final Exam is that they waste too much time. Too much time on college antics, and too much time on hillbilly cops, hillbilly coaches, hillbilly security guards, etc. It would have been much better if they had devoted those minutes to the unfolding story. People who want frat house antics, or people who want rednecks, can always watch movies that cater to those folks.

But my overall impression is very positive about Final Exam. I especially liked the heroine. Personally, I liked her better than Jamie Lee Curtis from Halloween. Some of the scenes between her and the geek are actually quite good. There is a degree of depth, and warmth, in their interaction, that you don't often find in a slasher film.

Put a ghoulish mask on the killer, and subtract a few hillbillies, and you'd have had a classic. But it's still very good as is.』

(Could have been groundbreaking, but no one picked up on it.)
『Final Exam (Jimmy Huston, 1981)

The best thing about Final Exam is a spoiler, and so I can't really come right out and say it, but it's something that really, really confused me when I first saw it back in the day and really, really impresses me now. It's something that I can't remember any other slasher film doing, before or since. Which if you think about it is pretty darned impressive. That's not to say this is a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it certainly makes it memorable. I hadn't seen it, before a few nights ago, in something like twenty-five years, and I still remembered a great deal about it. (Of course, this could be because I also still had the novelization of the movie, and read it obsessively in seventh and eighth grades; for that matter, I may still have my copy around here somewhere, as beaten-up as it must be by now.) One way or the other, though, it was much as I remembered it, though now dated and seeming somewhat cliché now that I have a larger grasp on the history of slasher movies than I did in the early eighties. Back then, I'd only seen two or three. I don't want to think about how many I've seen now...

Plot: it's time for finals (actually, I could swear that in a few places, they say it's actually midterms, but I guess Midterm Exam didn't quite have the same ring to it) at a small college in the middle of nowhere. A killer struck (in the movie's opening scene) at another college just down the road, which has got everyone pretty keyed up as well, which isn't helped when the local numbskull fraternity plays a practical joke that sends some of the more gullible students scurrying for the cops. (Cue obvious "boy who cried wolf" subplot.) Of course, the killer has migrated, and starts picking off some of the last students left on campus, as most have already gone home for break.

It's your typical slasher, except for that one thing (the question you're left with at the end of the movie? Yeah, that one thing), so don't go into it looking for any revelations vis-a-vis the acting, camerawork, score, or anything else; it's very typical of its subspecies in every other way. Still, that one thing does make it well worth your time if you're even a casual fan of the slasher movie, so in that case, you should probably hunt it down. **

(Decent Movie, No Motive)
『Really would have been nice to know why the psycho killer was psycho killing. For instance, was that his daughter or sister who killed herself the year before because she did not get accepted into a fraternity? And by the way, who really cares? Now if her boyfriend , whom she worshiped had dumped her because she was not a member of a female sibling fraternity and he has to stay in his father and gf fraternity, now that would have been a motive for the killer after she killed herself. Recognizing that this is a late 70s to early 80s film, it wasn't that bad. For Jason's first few sequels his motive was that he did not want anyone at Camp Crystal Lake. Michael Myers was hunting his sister and his neice that, in H2o , turned into a nephew. Freddy Kruger was after the children of the town that killed him when he was human. Your movie can be silly, but it has got to have a motive.』

This series is fun, entertaining, appropriate for all ages, and great, as long as you aren't expecting another "Advent Children" out of this.』
『Studio: Adv Films Release Date: 01/20/2004 Run time: 100 minutes』
(The best FFIII guide I have ever own)
『This guide really reminds me my childhood. I had this book When I was 13 but I lost it. It helped me out playing FFIII and also enhanced my English skills since I'm Spanish native speaker xD.

The guide is very clear and easy to understand. Every section is well explained. By the way, it has good drawings of the FFIII characters like on the original SNES users guide.』

(More Like a Story Than a Strategy Guide)
『If you're looking for a guide with a lot of meat (maps, charts, boss strategies, etc.), you won't find it in this book. This book's primary appeal is the narrative style that Peter Olafson employs. Parts of the guide read more like a story than a strategy guide. Although it is generally well-written, I would have given it a higher rating if it had combined Olafson's narrative with more traditional strategy guide content.』

(as for the story)
『When I was a child, my uncle, who was 19 at the time, was playing "Final Fantasy 3" back when we numbered the Final Fantasies improperly, and he had this book. Before I even played the game, I read it. Then I read it again. And I read it again. It felt like a novel. Aside from the obvious intent of being a game strategy guide, parts of the prose is fantastic, and Olafson gleans so much from the story - theme, character, bits of dialogue that on first glance you wouldn't notice bearing as much meaning as they do in many of the scenes. Olafson doesn't get everything right. He can't. He tells what he knows, and what he knows, seems less to be gaming and more to be literary. I would get into arguments when "Final Fantasy 7" came out - which is better, Seven or Six, and I would argue Six, although Seven at the time had the best graphics there were (ugh) and thrilled me with its own story. But I had gotten something out of Six, with the help from Olafson, nobody looking at it briefly could. I don't think I can think of Six without thinking of this book. That may be bad. But it's an incredible story in my memory nonetheless.』

(A review)
『The book talks like a person would and tells you many things that will help you throughout the game. This book tells you who does what and what attarck and it is a good walkthrough』

(Best-selling novel: FF3 strategy guide. (Should've been.))
『This is, without a doubt, the best game guide I have ever read. It is so smooth and well-written that it reads like a novel, and it quickly became my favorite book when I started reading it. My friend let me borrow the game, and I was uninterested at first, but the guide added so much to it that I kept it and ended up buying it from him. That's what makes a good strategy guide, I think. It sure made this one good.』

(Very enjoyable read! Perfect for summer!)
『I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Very well plotted, if a little expository, but I found it gripping enough I regretted having to finish it. I will be looking for the first two in the BSI series to read, as well.』

(Once more in the deep end of the pool)
『BSI: Death Sentence is the second in the Bureau of Special Investigations series. Each BSI agent is a combination of police officer, diplomat, arbitrator, and jacks-of-all trades. They watch over humans throughout the galaxy, seeing that they get a fair deal. This time Special Agents Hannah Wolfson and Jamie Mendez are sent out to find the murderer of Special Agent Trevor Wilcox III. They also need to find out why he was killed and where he hid the decrypt key for the document he carried.

Trevor Wilcox was sent on a fairly routine courier detail. He wouldn't learn anything about the message he would carry unless the contact gave him information when he arrived to pick up the item. Long overdue, his ship, the Irene Adler, was found as was the body of Wilcox. Trevor, a young agent, died of old age. All evidence points to the fact that he knew he was dying and that he expected to be boarded again after his death, so he'd hid the decrypt key for the document that he carried so that only another BSI agent could find it. The bad news was that so far no one had. The document's contents are unknown but could cause a galactic-wide war -- so it's imperative that it be found as soon as possible.

Now we're up to chapter two, the tension just continues to build from here. Hannah and Jamie are sent to Metran to see if they can learn anything from the people that Wilcox had met with while on planet. Metrans are one of the elder races and the Unseen Ones who lived with the Metrans were an even older race. Hannah and Jamie are being dropped into the deep end of the pool sans swimming lessons and expected to figure it all out before they drown.

Once more Allen gives us a rich detailed world and civilizations with all the attendant rules, tensions, history, and backstory. He manages to pack the book with all the information that is needed with the clues right out there for all to see, but to stir the pot with enough miscellaneous information so that our main characters will solve the problem about the same time we do. The tension is kept throughout and the witty repartee is just what's needed to release some as you read along.

Allen has to be one of the best writers of hard science fiction going. While his novels are entertaining, they do manage to pack in a lot of information without that "as you know, Bob" feel.』

(fascinating military science fiction thriller)
『Bureau of Special Investigation Agents Hannah Wolfson and Jamie Mendez are sent to their Commandant to learn of a mission so Top Secret even she has no idea what it entails. To their surprise they are to work with Kendori Agent Brox, who they have teamed up with before. The Kendori and Humanity are Younger Races looked down on with scorn by the Elder Races who were in space long before man left the swamps. The Kendori and Humanity are not at war, but hostilities can happen at anytime as they are in close competition with each other.

They compete for the inhabitable worlds in the Perton System while an Elder Species the Vixa will decide who gets them. Brox takes the two BSI Agents to Vana to find out who killed a Kendori woman working in their embassy which is connected to that of the Human Embassy sharing a common work place. Circumstantial evidence points to a human as the killer, but neither Hannah nor Jamie allow surface appearances to taint their investigation. The more the pair digs, the more they believe that there is a larger conspiracy to put the Younger Races in their place, which is not in space; to do that without losing Elder blood means manipulating the rivalry so that the two lesser species are at war with each other.

This fascinating military science fiction thriller makes man in space competing with other races seem real due to the vivid social, economic, and cultural details of the Vaxa society. FINAL INQUIRIES takes place far into the future with humanity struggling to find its niche in a hierarchy in which those at the top of the pyramid want those underneath to stay there; as the superior races see mankind and the Kendori as recalcitrant children who need to be taught respect for their Elders. The BSI Agents and Brox try to understand one another as they work together on the homicide investigation, but it is difficult as the differences between their species have been emphasized though interestingly the two groups have so much more in common. Roger MacBride Allen provides an exciting space opera.

Harriet Klausner

『It’s the most dangerous assignment of their careers—a mission so top-secret, not even their commanding officer has been permitted to know the details. Within minutes, BSI agents Jamie Mendez and Hannah Wolfson are whisked aboard an Elder Race ship as massive as a small moon, hurtling acrossthe galaxy at unheard-of speed toward the scene of a crime no one dares to put into words. They’ve been partnered on the case with Brox 234—an agent of the Kendari, humanity’s chief rival in the endless game of interstellar diplomatic threat and bluster. Mendez and Wolfson quickly learn one thing for certain: they’re about to face a threat so deadly that only an alliance between the human race and its fiercest foes will give any of them even the slimmest chance of survival. And even that chance is about to slip away.…』

『There are tons of reviews for this game. Every 5 star review is right, and I am sure the reasons for the rating have been analyzed to death. Also Electronic Arts were never associated with Final Fantasy VII so the 'EA Classics' does NOT mean 'Electronic Arts'. The ones advertised are Bootleg Imports from Asia. Please support the Official USA version of the game and stop sellers from selling the illegal version.』

($150 ? , what is new in the game ?)
『For $150 it better have something in it way new and it better not be just another port because I love the game but if there is nothing that stands out that it would be price at $150 then it most likely not worth it.』

Well good luck finding this game for under 80 dollars anywhere now that cerebus came out and thanx again mainstream pigs for making a gamers life a bit more expensive.....』

(A perfect translation of the Classic Playstation RPG)
『If you liked this review, feel free to click my name and check out my others.

One of the best selling games of all time. This is a practically perfect translation of the Sony Playstation title for PC users. Follow the adventure of a mercenary and his band of adventurers seeking to protect the earth from certain destruction at the hands of a vicious corporation, an unstoppable warrior, and black destructive magic that in the wrong hands could doom the planet.

If you are a fan of more recent FF titles like FFX X2 or XI, you will be disappointed by the graphics. However, don't let that deter you from the action, the mystery, and the story that has kept this reviewer coming back to the game every year. The game features a fully navigable globe allowing you to explore dozens of towns, caves, and even regions underwater! I might add though that this is a long game. The first act plays out like a cyber-punk fantasy completely enclosed within the walls of a dark and polluted super-metropolis. By the time most other games have been beaten, you're finally leaving the city to discover the world outside. That's when the real fun begins.

The game play on this title is also a high point. The systems by which magic and other abilities are managed is fairly easy to understand and fun to experiment with. Those who seek to find new and more effective combinations of magic, skills, and weapons will find themselves addicted to strategizing in this game. The cinematic effects during battle are something to see too. there's something exhilerating about calling a dragon down from the sky to dispatch punishment on some tough enemies.

Having played both the PS and PC versions, I have to say I am partial to the PC version. It offers identical gameplay with the bonus that your PC allows you to save an insane amount of game data, take screen shots, or even collect video. Also, there are plenty of fansites on the web offering free downloads of patches, hacks, and editors if you'd like to experiment with characters, items, and magic.

Check it out. It's a true classic.』

(Not a must have, but definitely a fun/useful tool.)
『First of all, I knew that it didn't link with the game so I wasn't disappointed like many others. I actually wanted to buy this clock when I saw the ad in the Chains of Promathia expansion pack for the PC when it came out years ago. I recently started playing again and decided it'd be fun to pick it up and try it out.

First of all I am VERY impressed with how easy it is to set up. For those of you who have problems, I suggest using http://www.pyogenes.com/ffxi/timer/v2.html to set it up. It needs to be down to the second, so it may take a couple tries. All you do is put in your time zone (based on a chart they give you), the date, and the earth time (again this has to be to the second.) and it automatically calibrates all the Vana'diel info i.e. Day, Moon Phase, Time.

Four alarms can be set as countdown timers or just your standard alarm. They can be set to Earth time OR Vana'diel time. For instance, you can set the alarm for 8:00 Vana'diel time so you know when the Mhaura ferry arrives. You can set the Countdown timer for 2 hours earth time to notify you when your 2hr is ready to use again. Alarms are super easy to set and turn on and off.

The cons. You can leave the alarms on so they will perpetually go off every time they're scheduled to. However, the timers must be turned on again after they've completed their countdown. This isn't a huge deal but say if you wanted to synchronize them with a specific airship and have it go off every fifteen minutes and automatically start over again, you can't.

The screen can be difficult to read from certain angles and in certain lighting. The light isn't as bad as most people say though.

The alarms seem too loud for the speakers. They are very loud and, especially during high notes, distort a bit. It's a shame because they're actually quite pretty. They sound like music box versions of the various nation's themes. I don't know why they made them so loud as most people will have this sitting a foot or so away from them while playing.

All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase, the cons are more just little annoyances than anything to deter a purchase. This is a surprisingly sophisticated little device and I recommend it to anyone who avidly plays Final Fantasy XI.』

(A Collector's Piece.....)
『I bought this piece for my fiance who is a huge FF buff, I thought it would make a nice add on to his collection. The time is off by about an hour (It is supposed to auto set the Vana'diel [game] time when you input your current [earth] time/zone information.) Only thing I can think of is that it might not work with daylight savings time. The LCD screen also has to be placed somewhere with a light colored background, it's not the easiest to see.

Overall though, he likes it as a collector's piece and therefore it was worth the cost.』

(Great Collector's Edition For FFXI Fans!)
『A real-time clock that shows current time from Vanadiel and its moon faces and weather forecast, cool!!! Like living in it!』

(Very handy for FFXI players)
『I keep this clock on my desk at all times. This clock is a typical every day alarm clock for the real world, but can double as a desktop game device that keeps track of the time, date, and moon phases in Vana'diel - important information for those who use the game's gardening system among other things.

The clock is an attractive desk ornament, the alarm functions are of course handy, and the alarm music is quite attractive.

The controls to set the clock could be a little more intuitive (do not lose the instructions!), but overall this is a highly functional piece of FFXI memorabilia.』

(Good for more than just the game...)
『I bought this rather odd clock on a whim, being an avid FFXI player. After spending a little time fooling with it, I found that I have more uses for it out-of-game than in!

Setting the thing up is a little bit of a hassle, what with game time and real time needing to be in sync, but if you're not using it to keep track of game time, close is good enough. On it's own, it's an accurate and novel desktop clock with four alarm settings, which are very versatile. The alarms can be set as countdown timers, which is handy in the kitchen, or as just plain timed alarms, good for wake-up calls, appointments, etc. The alarms have a volume control, although to be fair the settings seem to be 'Loud' and 'Obnoxious'. Still, it gets your attention when they go off, and I guess that's the point. The alarms are jingly, music-box like renditions of the various national anthems in the game world. they're recognizable if you know the music, but not actual in-game quality.

As an aside, my personal favorite on this thing is the San D'orian March.

My only complaint is that the contrast on the LCD screen is a little dim, and no way to adjust it (that I've found). Other than that, I've been very happy with the clock, it's an inexpensive and novel timepiece that looks neat and does operate as advertised.』

『The Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Forever Clock works as either a stand-alone clock or can connect to your Final Fantasy XI game, telling you the time on two worlds. It displays Time and Date in both Vana'diel time and Earth time. It also tells you other import pieces of time measurement.』
