Great Organ Sound, Great recording sound quality.
Nicely Done !!』
(Nectar of the Gods) 『Friend, if you are reading this, you have somehow found your way to what other reviewers have damned with faint praise. Let me say that this recording is typical Telarc, which is to say slightly muddy and without any precision of imaging or definition in the deep bass. Counting the pipes a la Dorian ain't happening. Having got past that, however, you will be treated to a Franck played straight, without any of the hamming up, none of the excessive rubato, none of the editorializing. Michael Murray lets the music speak for itself. Having listened to thousands of organs over many years, it is my opinion that the St Sernin instrument is one of the top two or three in the world. The exquisite flutes, the feathery reeds, the snarling contre bombarde like God's own chainsaw, all combining at times in the most awe inspiring sonic tsunami you're ever likely to hear. The masterful stop pulling which culminates in the sublime triumphal roar on track one will make your spirit soar and the hairs on the back of your neck rise. There really isn't any reason to own Franck played on any other instrument than a Cavaille Coll by a conscientious craftsman like Michael Murray, so start clicking and add this pair of discs to your collection toute suite.』
(French organ music) 『Nice album overall. Although this is authentic music by a French composer on a French organ, I am not a big fan of the French organs and would prefer this be played on a good American organ. That's just my opinion. Nothing's wrong with the playing.』
(Good Franck Offering) 『Michael Murray gives a nice performance of Franck based on his instruction from Dupre. The registration schemes often come from the Dupre tradition, while other performances have just as vital connections with different registration schemes. I personally like the use of the flue choruses where others might include those wonderful but sometimes monotonous reed sounds more often. Demesseiux's fabled Franck cycle resembles Murray's in registration. One reviewer may be correct...little passion, certainly when compared to the superb Alain recording at Caen. However, listen to Dupre and one won't find passion there, either. The music is served quite nicely, anyway. I find Murray's performance engaging and accessible (I am NOT an organist.) I think the organ was miked awfully close and for my taste, Murray's more recent recording of Franck, Widor and Dupre at Ste. Sulpice, while also miked very closely, gives an inviting, clearer sound, particularly since Murray uses the mixtures to unusually nice effect for that instrument. The Franck cycles I've heard over the past 30 years each has its own merits, and Michael Murray's is an equally fine offering.』
(Wonderful music, great organ, performance fine) 『The other reviewers for this offering have found fault with Michael Murray's performance and the organ tuning. I may be tone deaf or something, but I have no complaint with either of these issues.
The Cavaille-Coll instrument at St. Sernin comes out in this recording really magnificent with great miking by Renner and his recording team. I can listen to this recording at very high levels and it is clear and well defined, as compared with the Telarc-Murray recording at St. Sulpice, which is muddy and somewhat ill-defined. I listen to these two discs frequently and enjoy them each time.
Sometimes I can not believe all of us reviewers are discussing the same performance, but this is how folks can get a viewpoint on recordings before spending their money on them.』 『Michael Murray's teacher was Marcel Dupré, whose own teacher was Alexandre Guilmant, who was a friend and colleague of Franck. When it comes to organ music, these things matter. The French organ school is the greatest contemporary representation of organ performance and composition. Names like Franck, Widor, Vierne, Tournemire, Dupréand Messiaen read like a "who's who" of great composers for the instrument. Franck's organ music got the ball rolling, and Murray plays these wonderful pieces on an authentic 19th-century French organ constructed by the master himself, Aristide Cavaille-Coll. Add Telarc's state-of-the-art soundto this pedigree, and the result is a first-class recommendation.--David Hurwitz』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A must have for everyone) 『This soundtrack is stunning.I would recommend it not only to any Final Fantasy fan, but to any fan of music in general. Five Stars. For those who are sure they will buy this: the track titled Wandering Flame (Disk 4, Track 7) is great for music to go to sleep to.』
(beautiful music!) 『I downloaded the entire album online (cough, cough), but I must say it is a beautiful compilation of the music that made this game so dear to me, the themes are rather intimate and sincere, and some of the tracks have a certain innocence and playfulness to them. Others are very soulful and mellow... I would highly recommend this CD!』
(Unhappy) 『I have given 4 weeks to this company, and stil HAVEN'T recieved my purchase. I feel the service of Amazon has gone down recently and I think I won't be shopping from here any longer. It is impossible to get these idiots to address my issue, and ofcourse Amazon isn't responsible for 3rd party purchases. Very, very very unhappy customer, a total waste of 20.00, I shoulda just tossed it in the garbage.

(Truly great music) 『I've only ever played 3 of the final fantasies, them being VIII, X and XII. X would have to be my favourite because of its fantastic storyline and the loveable characters. But what makes the game and the story so much better is the music that plays over it. What's best about the music is how diverse it is, there is literally something for every music lover out there. The highlights of the soundtrack would have to be the beautiful piano ballad, "To Zanarkand", the song "Suteki Da Ne" and the heavy metal song "Otherworld." Also any of Seymour's themes are dark and scary. Nobuo Uematsu, Junya Nakamo and Masashi Hamauzu are truly great men for being able to write such beautiful, dark and fun music, there are even times listening to some of the songs that I have to stop because of how sad the songs make me feel or how beautiful they are. Whether you're a fan of Final Fantasy X or just a lover of great music, this soundtrack is absolutely perfect in every way.』
(Fantastic) 『I am a HUGE Final Fantasy X fan and its just so hard to find any good products for it anymore, but when i found this original soundtrack i was ecstatic. I ordered it on a Monday and got it the same week Thursday. It was in great condition and I'm very satisfied at how quickly i got it as well. I definitely recommend this product.』 『Japanese soundtrack for the popular video game. 91 tracks on 4 discs. Packaged in a standard double jewel case in a slipcase.』 『Lustrous 4 CD set featuring the enitre soundtrack work for 'Final Fantasy X'. Housed in a double long bi-fold plastic case,&features a full color book.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (adult cartoon) 『great cartoon for adults that think thay are still kids. Has nudity but no sex.』
(Highly Entertaining Nonsense) 『Agent Aika plays like an animated Russ Meyer movie. It's perfect 1:00 AM entertainment and great way to play 'count-the-panties' (you won't be able to keep up). I suggest watching the subtitled version, as the dub verges on unlistenable. Just kick back and have fun with this flick. DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!!!』
(loads of fun in postmodern way for guy) 『As a guy watching animes more intensely in the last 6 months, I found agent aika to be a change of pace from straight action vs getting into hentai which is an acquired taste.
A couple of points (1) see gwen stefani video:hollaback girl&you can see shots of her panties which means that director has been been influenced by Japanese fascination w/ panty shots&a possible bid for mainstream acceptance in N America (2) in japanese past censored media with female genitalia, the white panties were to represent the genetalia&thus the fascination w/ panties.
I found this DVD episodes 1-4 to be better than Ep 5-7 in terms of drawing detail&coloring. And action sequences&storyline more fun. Thus I would recommend to get this one first. However, if you enjoyed the peekaboos in 1-4, then get 5-7 as it's more&it's funny as hell.
As a guy, I tend to get bored easily. The peekaboo factor makes a conventional action anime more interesting. And watching other animes, I feel that I am going to get a panty shot&when I don't, I have to remind myself that I am not watch Aika or Najica.
I believe this fascination stems from the fact that the last few years we had the low-rider/min-skirt phenomena in women's fashion¬ being able to see their panties made aika interesting for me.
Plus the camera angle present a different perspective ie what camera angle is chosen for conventional vs unconventional shots. As a amateur director, I found value in watching this series from that point of view.
Thus if you bored of anime&looking for change as a guy, then get this dvd
』
(a review) 『this serie it's ok if you want see a story to kill time, good animation, action and like all the series of this type, no have a story, but I think is fine to lost time.』
(Brilliant!) 『If you like watching...
1) beautiful women wearing ridiculously short skirts... 2) aforementioned beautiful women beating the crap out of each other with acrobatic kung-fu... 3) lots and lots of panty shots...
...then this series is for you!
Capsule reviews for both discs...
"Naked Mission": Briefly (pun intended)...a megalomaniac named Hargen recruits an army of beautiful and brainy women to help him take over the world. Aika and her fellow Salvagers are caught up in his ambitions, and turn out to be the only people who can stop him!
Things to look out for: Nudity (graphic), some sex (including incest!), plenty of violence (fairly graphic), panty shots galore, and...well, just see it; you'll be glad you did!
"Final Battle": The Delmo Army (Hargen's women; see #1 above), is on the offensive again, and only one person stands in their way; sexy, savvy super-agent Aika. Along the way, Aika faces death, danger, and personal humiliation, but she comes through it all with grace and style.
Things to look out for: Brief nudity, no sex, plenty of violence (nobody gets killed, though), one completely unethical medical exam, and...well, see #3 above. 'Nuff said!』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The Best) 『I suppose I'm lucky I hadn't read this in book form prior to seeing it on HBO in the 70's. My daughter and I must have watched it 10 times. It is crazy-fun, whacky, so silly and charming, yet dark - Clockwork Orangeish mixed with Dr. Strangelove but not. Michael Moorcock is one of my favorite sci fi authors and this film (though I gather he hates) really captures how funny he is in the most unexpected of ways. If you love the odd, get it.』
(A DVD ZONE LSD) 『Wow ! Look at these colours : green, blue, yellow all over the screen. And look at Mrs. Brunner's hair : deep red. We're in the beginning of the 70's for sure. With a zest of English humour, a little sex (we know now that Jenny Runacre and Sandy Ratcliffe are real red-headed women), with interesting guest stars as Patrick Magee, Sterling Hayden or Harry Andrews and a little gore (after all, director Robert FUEST was responsible for the Dr. Phibes movies), THE FINAL PROGRAMME, also known as "The Last Days of Man on Earth", is a curiosity that deserves at least a rental.』
(Light fun) 『It's better than nothing and it does give hints of the novel. It's mostly fun. I can't help feeling, however, that Moorcock deserved better. The cast too. Jon Finch, who plays Jerry, was an excellent Macbeth in Polanski's Macbeth. Jenny Runacre, who plays Miss Brunner, has ample presence.
The worst departure from the novel may be the Cornelius Brunner that appears at the end. Moorcock had written in the novel "A tall graceful being stepped out." and "It was hermaphrodite and beautiful". Somehow the movie thought an apeman would be better. Maybe there was a sale on Abominable Snowman costumes.
Throughout, Moorcock's sexual ambiguities seem ill-served by this film with, apart from a brief episode involving Miss Brunner, a decidedly heterosexual flavor. The psychic vampirism of the novel seems replaced by Miss Brunner's sexual "appetite".
Similarly, one wouldn't suspect Moorcock's many cool conversations from the limited banter in the movie.
It is fun to see Jerry come to life except it isn't so much Jerry and this film isn't so much alive. Anyone with an adequate imagination will find the novel vastly more fun and alive.
Nevertheless if you are a fan of Jerry Cornelius, in the mood for visuals and not feeling critical, you might find this movie entertaining. See Professor Hira, the needle gun, Catherine's demise, Frank in need of a fix, DUEL in its cave. Some of the coolness of the novel does find its way into this movie.
Maybe someday some director will due justice to the novel. Until then, watching this, which seems like a hurried made-for-TV movie, may entertain you while making you wish, like I do, for the richer treatment that Jerry Cornelius and Moorcock deserve.』
("A very tastey world!") 『What can you say about a film that, opening scene onwards, you either love or loathe? It's fantastically dated, and that's what makes it fantastic. From the London Red-Bus Movie music, the bizarro pseudo-science, the biting dialogue, and the (almost) Cast of Thousands, "Final Programme" is one of my favorite films ever. I've almost worn out my copy.
The plot's incidental, but what the hey. Jerry Cornelius (Jon Finch) is a Nobel Laureate living on Bell's scotch, pills, and chocolate digestives in a chaotic world where Trafalgar Square is a vast dump, arms dealers operate in basements across from the National Gallery, and Amsterdam's now "25 square miles of white ash--for once the Americans got it right." Jerry's dad, mad-scientist and founder of the Cornelius line, was working on something weird in Lapland when he died, but that's not Jerry's problem now. He's more worried about his crazy brother Frank (the wonderful Derek O'Connor), who is holding their sister Catherine hostage in the Family Manse and is, if possible, more strung out than Jerry.
But Lapland returns to haunt him in the form of Miss Brunner (Jenny Runacre) and three Magritte-like scientists. They need Jerry to help them get his dad's microfilm, the last piece of The Final Programme---a project staggaring in conception and quite, quite funny. The microfilm is locked in the house with Frank, and as the old family retainer tells Jerry,"There's another problem--it's that house. You know what that old house is like." "I haven't forgotten" says Jerry.
That "old house" is a super-modern fortress, of course, complete with lights of simulate "pseudo-epilepsy", booby traps, poison gas, and a pantheon of James Bondish dangers. Along the way to the microfilm, it becomes apparent there's something very odd about Miss Brunner, and that Frank's not the fool he seems.
I know it's dated and I don't care. I don't care if the continuity is bad. I don't care if the budget could've been bigger. I don't care if the "science" is Junk with a capital "Juh". I'm oblivious to it all, because this is such an entertaining movie. For one thing, Jon Finch is incredible. He's the perfect Jerry, and Prince could only PRAY to wear a Goth/New Romantic suit as well as Finch does. For another, Jenny Runacre's Miss Brunner was feminist before there was a common understanding of what that word meant. And the versatile Derek O'Connor's greasy, desperate Frank is brilliant.
You'll need to have your finger on the "rewind" button--the dialogue comes fast and urbane. You'll keep recognizing British character actors, and let's face it, if you're female, you'll enjoy watching Finch, who's easy on the eyes. And the visual jokes--watch for "LOVE" embroidered on the vampirical Brunner nightie in the "climactic" final scene!
A warning, though: this really does deserve its R rating. Hustle the kiddie-winks to bed first--then enjoy!』
(Planet Weird) 『This film is based on the original Michael Moorcock story of the same name. I have read the Moorcock version and I genuinely have to say that the film seems to be better. It is an existential romp through conscienceness. It takes you to a weird alternate reality of planet earth. In the end it leaves you with more questions than it answers (what can be better than that). You get to sit back and decide. A film that really makes you think.』

(Decent Entry for Power Rangers) 『I am late to the Power Rangers RPM game and missed it when it aired originally on tv. Because I do not have the ability to catch reruns I happened to decide to view the DVD. There seems to be a nice fan following for this show online so I decided to jump onto it.
In order to enjoy the show one must embrace several things with Power Rangers. Power Rangers started its first season with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in the ninties. During that time it prided itself on cheesy graphics using models of mechas and didnt do anything to hide the fact that these were fake models. In todays age the same thing is apparent in RPM, so the animation of the scenes looks extremely aged. Second, the actual CGI they try to incorporate looks goofy (vehicles that look really juvenile, less than the lower 8year old and less sect of viewers is probably whom the style appeals too). Lastly, you can clearly tell that the fighting is as fake as ever. The difference here is that they finally abandoned the use of sparks emanating from everything when it is hit and eliminated the use of enemies who shake and jiggle on the ground when they are defeated. However, the fighting is fake and inimaginative and you have to accept this fact to move on.
Storywise, the show has this rediculous premise of being the only safe haven from this computer virus that caused the computers/robots to take over the world all except for the city of Corinth. It is hard to believe but that is the premise. The villian himself is rediculous and over the top, however, the amazing Taneya7, who is introduced in this volume, is a great assest to the villain cast and has the most memorable parts.
The rangers themselves are spot on and people will have their favorites. I will not say whom they are since that will spoil a twist in this volume.
DVD wise, the set is quite on the cheap side, meaning the features are lacking with nothing more than just a few Disney DVD/Blu-Ray previews. The menu only spans one page, the set is only about the first five episodes and leave you begging for more at the end. There is nothing at all that hot about the DVD box itself either, just a simple black case.
Ultimately, I would say to buy this set if you can get over the same problems with the show. With the sketchy past of the Power Rangers DVD releases, one probably needs to get these fast since there most likely will not be a collectors edition released.』
(fantastic) 『this dvd of power rangers rpm is the best i just can't wait to get the rest to watch』
(No, really. It's really that good.) 『Not for several years have I seen a Power Rangers series worth dragging in non-fans for. This is hardcore post-apocalyptic sci-fi wrapped in spandex and made child-safe without pandering to that audience.
I won't waste time going into story details laid out in the synopsis except to say this is a real break in style from even pre-Kalish PR. This show does not deserve to be shown at 6:30 AM or left off the schedule like it is in some markets. So you owe it to yourself to buy this DVD. Support what may be the curtain call for Power Rangers.
The catches? No special features at all. Nothing. And as a previous reviewer mentioned, we got the ABC Kids version of the credits for Handshake. But hey, that's life.』
(An excellent first DVD for a TV show's final season.) 『"Power Rangers RPM Vol. 1: Start Your Engines" is must-own item for any Power Rangers fan, or any fan of the Sci-Fi/Dystopia genre. In the premiere, we're introduced to a barren and desolate Earth, one where a sentient computer virus has succeeded at taking over the entire planet with the exception of the domed city of Corinth. If the goal of every previous Power Rangers team was to prevent "the end of the world," then the goal of this team is to "survive the end of the world." RPM takes the idea behind Power Rangers and turns it on its head, creating one of the most memorable and unique seasons to date. It should be noted however, that most of the show takes place inside of Corinth's dome, rather than outside where radiation and villains rule. Dillon (portrayed by Dan Ewing) and Ziggy (portrayed by Milo Cawthorne) Grover are easily two of the shows most likable characters, and fans of all ages will quickly grow to like them.
Because Power Rangers RPM is broadcast only on ABC Kids, many people are unable to view it for a variety of reasons--it's noon time-slot on Saturdays doesn't help things either, which again, makes this a must-own for many fans.
From a technical standpoint, this disc is almost perfect. The episodes have the opening credits, "dips to black" where the commercials would be, and for most episodes, full ending credits. The reason that I say this disc is almost perfect is because the fifth and final episode on the disc, "Handshake," does not have full ending credits. Instead, the credits to "Handshake" are shown "ABC Kids style," that is, they're rolled over the end of the episode itself. Aside from this obnoxious flaw, in the fifth episode, the Disc is perfect, with excellent picture and sound quality.
All in all, this DVD is highly recommended to Power Rangers fans both young and old.』 『Studio: Buena Vista Home Video Release Date: 07/07/2009』

("An A Plus Boxset") 『This boxset features every single "Omen" filmed ever produced. Rather than paying the price for each individual DVD the consumer would be wise to purchase this set for the amazingly low price that dealers are asking for. You get all five "Omen" films beautifully restored from the studio's master prints. The dics themselves come in their own individual cases that store the DVD's safely. These DVD's are in turned stored in a cardboard case with access to the DVD's on the side. The films are as follows: "The Omen", the 1976 film that started the franchise starring Lee Remick and Gregory Peck; "The Omen 2" from 1978 starring William Holden and the fabulous Lee Grant; "The Omen 3" from 1981 which stars Sam Neill in his first starring movie as the adult Damien; "The Omen IV" which was made for TV in 1991 that deals with a young girl who is the antichrist; the last film in the series is the well received and excellently produced remake of "The Omen-2006". The only film that contains a slew of bonuses is the original with neat info and annecdotes from the filmakers. No horror buff's library is complete without this wonderful boxset.』
(Just buy the original; sequels&remake are awful.) 『Except for the 1976 orignal version of the film, there is nothing worth watching in this 5 DVD collection. Looking at the price, one might think it is a bargain; it is not! No words come close to describing how bad the remake is; the acting (Except for Mia Farrow&Pete Postlethwaite) was nauseating. Damien 3 was a very cheaply done film, which has a Monty Python feel to it. The Omen IV was plain stupid and boring. The Omen II was somewhat watchable with decent acting, but it lacks horror, suspense or anything that makes it interesting . My advice, you will gain nothing from adding this collection to your video library, if you already have the original 1976 version of "The Omen".』

(Normally I wouldn't review something before I viewed it...) 『...because the condition of the DVD's is a big part of the review. But none of the reviewers have complained about the DVD's, so I guess they're ok. It's basically just the original Omen that matters; all the rest are merely along for the ride. The Omen was the only movie I've ever seen that actually scared me to where I checked all the windows and doors before going to bed - and I saw it on network TV, chopped up with tons of advertisements. As most of the other reviewers have noted, it was the atmosphere that, more than the actual events of the movie, created the sense of terror. And the graveyard sequence was absolutely the most terrifying scene of any movie I've ever watched. This movie, perhaps more than any other movie I can think of, demonstrates how little murder and mayhem is necessary to create a first rate horror film. It's not so much about what actually happens as it is about what the atmosphere makes you think might happen. The season one is about dispersement of technology; whose got it and who does not! Under the disguise of two races, each etching out their similarities, modifying, and in the continuum: synchronized extending peril.』
(Finally EFC Season 1) 『SO, I like many others have waited what seems like centuries to get season 1&2. I have seasons 3-5 from ADV(yeah I snatched them up as soon as they were released) but I was so desperately looking for season 1&2. Now I know why I couldn't find them anywhere. Like many of Gene's works I have always come in on the 4th season so here is a prime example of someone who came in late but understood everything but WHY the tealons/companions came to earth. So I will finally get to see them. Funny I was just saying at the Vegas convention how much I wanted season 1-2 and wow Season 1 is released and Season 2 releasing soon. So excited can't wait to view them.』
(Perhaps my most bittersweet DVD purchase) 『When it came out originally, I thought that Earth:Final Conflict was some of the best television Sci-Fi ever made. Now watching the first season again on DVD, I can confidently say that it might have been some of the best television ever made, period. Comparisons to Babylon 5 are plentiful, and they would be accurate. E:FC's first season hinted at a very broad, heavy hitting story arc, and the characters were nuances on top of nuances. During the commentary on one of the early episodes, someone mentions that Kilner is having to play Boone from five different emotional angles in one scene, and they are right--all of the characters have a mix of good, bad, selfish, selfless, etc that never really let you feel who the good guys and the bad guys are.
It's bittersweet, though, because this will be the only season I purchase. I know there was some decent material in later seasons, but there was nothing of what I loved. The characters were flattened out (or replaced), and the arc is either forgotten or, when they do decide to move it forward, thrust in our faces.
I like to believe that Earth:Final Conflict never made it past season 1. Because of that, it was one of the best television shows ever made.』
(I recommend seasons 1 and 4) 『If you're curious about this series, but don't have a lot of cash to spend, I recommend limiting yourself to seasons 1 and 4. Why those? Well as others have pointed-out very little happens in years two and three, which fell into a kind of Gilligan's Island syndrome. In every episode the characters discover a way to beat or expose the visiting Aliens as evil, but at the end they fail to achieve their goal, and there's a "reset" to return everything back to the status quo. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Seasons 2/3 are boring to watch.
But seasons 1 and 4 put in the effort to advance the story. Season 1 basically asks the questions and sets-up the mystery, while season 4 provides the answers with an ultimate conclusion to the Alien/Human story.
So that's what I have in my collection - 1 and 4. Taken together they resemble Babylon 5 or Deep Space Nine in complexity. The other seasons I owned at one point, but I eventually sold them off since they were so inferior.

(Gene Roddenberry's Earth Final Conflict - Season 1) 『It was nice to finally have season 1 of Earth Final Conflict available on DVD. In my oppinion it is the best non Star Trek Gene Roddenberry created series. I have had season 3 and 4 for years but unless you have season 1 and 2 you're at a lost. It has a story ark that begins in season 1 and plays into season 2,3,4,5. So hopefully season 2 will be available on DVD soon so I can watch it as it is, a five year story.』 『"Fans ofThe Twilight Zonewill easily recognize the influence of a memorable episode from that classic television series onGene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict. Damon Knight and Rod Serling's ""To Serve Man"" concerned an advanced, extraterrestrial race with large, bald heads and a seemingly benevolent attitude about helping Earth's humans eliminate poverty, disease, and war. It took a little time for people who had grown complacent from all that allegedly no-strings-attached kindness to realize the aliens had a rather primal, hidden agenda.
Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict, based on notes and story ideas the late Roddenberry left behind, turns a similar premise into a complex, nuanced tale of tensions between a race of bald, androgynous aliens who serve mankind and skeptical humans who don't trust them. Co-developed and co-produced by Roddenberry's widow, actress Majel Barrett (Star Trek,Star Trek: The Next Generation),Earth: Final Conflictfinds our planet more than happy to submit to the goodwill of super-evolved extraterrestrials called Taelons. Having eliminated much of our species' miseries with advanced technology, the Taelons begin moving more and more into the business of running human affairs. Kevin Kilner stars as William Boone, a cop who becomes an inter-dimensional double agent when a Taelon ambassador, Da'an (Leni Parker), chooses him to be a security liaison. Reluctant to accept the job, Boone agrees only after an underground resistance group--funded by a billionaire (David Hemblen) and including another top security figure (Lisa Howard)--convinces him to be their spy. Equipped with a brain implant that expands his mental powers, Boone begins working for both sides, trying to discover the full story behind the Taelons' altruistic relationship with Earth. Indeed, there is more to the Taelons' story than meets the eye, though they are not unsympathetic, and Boone develops something of a relationship with Da'an. The series has a kind of zig-zagging episodic structure that emphasizes unique stories while allowing the deeper, Taelons-versus-rebels tale to thread its way through. Special effects, as inStar Trek: The Next Generation, are on the cheesy side, but that's all right: several good performances compensate for that shortcoming. Parker, as Da'an, is very good as a creature of both duplicity and deep feeling. But the real standout is Von Flores as Ronald Sandoval, another security agent who destroyed his personal life to become a guardian for the Taelons. Flores is wonderful playing a man whose pain reveals itself, in small degrees, through a veneer of harsh authority. As it turns out, Sandoval is the only character who remained onEarth: Final Conflictall the way through its five seasons on television. Flores is the man to watch.--Tom Keogh"』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Good and Bad) 『Vincent Valentine(Figure no. 2). Probably the most beloved optional side character in the Final Fantasy series.
I was looking so forward to this figure. But when I got him, I had mixed feelings.
Yes he looks great. The detail for him is beatiful. His cape and Cerberus(his gun) are very well sculpted. His golden hand and feet look great. Hair and face are well done too. He has okay articulation. More on that later.
His cape is a soft rubber which gives it great flexability. And it's buckles look good. The Cerberus is very well crafted for it's size. And can be held or put into a holster located on the figures back right leg. Also the at the base of the guns handle, there is a chain with the Derge Of Cerberus symbol on the end(THIS CHAIN AND SYMBOL ARE DELICATE, BE WARNED!!).
Now for the downfall. The downfall is mainly his cape. The top part that wraps around his shoulders does NOT unbuckle in any way. Which makes it impossible to raise his arms above his waist. His arms can basically bend only at the elbows due to this problem. Which is a BIG limit on possing. But his legs are free from this problem.
He does have great detaling under his cape at the shoulders. So you could cut his cape open at the buckles to have more movement and still have him look decent. But that choice is yours.
So his cape restriction and the delicate chain on his gun is a downside. Still, in my opinion, this figure does this great character justice. Yes, he is a must have for FF7AC collectors. Or fans of Dirge Of Cerberus.』
(FF Play arts Vincent) 『Pros: Excellent weapon, one of the best crafted weapons. Vincent stands up easily on his own, is very durable, and sturdy.
Cons: none』
(Vincent Action Figure) 『The action figure was in amazing condition, which is great because it will not be taken out of the box. Thank you for your prompt and amazing servcice.』
(Very Nice) 『I really enjoy the look of this action figure for such a great character. Its very sturdy but I wish I could raise his arm up far enough to rest the gun on his shoulder but that's not really a big deal. Very well made and I recommend this for fans of the series. I originally got this for my 3 year old for some odd reason likes watching Final Fantasy stuff but when I got it I had to keep it for myself. It was just way to nice but probably someday I will let her play with it nicely.』
(It's really cool) 『This figure was really cool. But what's disappointing is that his arms are limited in movement due to the cape. But the cape feels really cool that I always find myself feeling it whenever I get the chance.』 『The Advent Children Vincent Valentine action figure is approx. 8.5" tall, includes a soft material cape his trademark handgun - "Cerberus." Features over 20 points of articulation and comes with a display stand. Window box packaging.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A collector's toy) 『This is a toy meant more for the collector than the rough and tumble kid. It's for posing and looking at, more than real play. The attention to detail is fantastic, and as close as possible to the original game character. The left hand is removable so that one with a grip can be put on for the sword...A good thing, but the loose hand makes it unsuitable to leave within the reach of small children. The face and front hair can pop off if it is dropped, but it slides right back on.』 『Not only one of the most popular characters from the Final Fantasy, but also considered one of the greatest villains in video game history, Sephiroth is finally available in his original game form! Included is the Masamune sword; one of the only weapons to be featured in every installment of the long-running series.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not like the picture at all!) 『The cactuar I received looked nothing like the picture! If you want one that looks like an actual Final Fantasy cactuar, do not buy this.』
(It's Cactaur!) 『I bought this as a gift for a Final Fantasy fan and it was a hit. It seems durable, well made, it's posable, and it's Cactaur, one of the most beloved enemies (and summons) in the series. If you're a Final Fantasy fan it's a worthy item for your collection.』
(Um.. It doesn't quit look like this.) 『It's definitely a Cactaur. It's Green, It 12" inches tall. However, it's kind of weird looking and shaped rather funky. I'm not talking "Cool" funky -- I mean, funky like he has some sort of problem. Over all, it's fine. This is for the hardcore fans, like myself.
If you want a perfect looking Final Fantasy stuff animal -- get the Moogles or the Chocobo. I order the Moogle from Japan, so you know that thing was perfect. The Chocobo I got from Amazon - he's pretty cute.』
(Disappointed) 『The real one looks much cheaper than the photo. The design doesn't look genuine, nothing a real FF fan would truly appreciate. Almost impossible to rig correctly.』
(A must have for Final Fantasy fans!) 『I honestly expected Cactuar to bigger than it real size, But it's lovely&enjoyable!&something I wanted Since 1999, It's worth it! love my Cactuar :)』 『Final Fantasy Cactuar Sabotender 12" Posable Plush Toy Doll』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A darker side of the moon) 『This is the last book in a 13 book series for teenage girls. I've enjoyed the entire series and the message that Lynne Ewing has for all girls that we are each goddesses in our own right. I liked reading a series that advocates for girls to think before they act, while still capturing the angst that so many teens face.
This book and the previous one, The Becoming, are both the darkest books in the series. The endings to both books are bittersweet and left me feeling somewhere between nostalgic and sad by the time I finished. If you've read the entire series, it won't take this review to convince you to read this final book, you'll already have decided to on your own. If you're considering reading this book and haven't read the previous books, I recommend that you read the first 4 or 5 books of the series and then jump to this one, as it is not a stand alone novel.』
(done yet?) 『if you liked daughters of the moon...you wont like this book its a very poor ending to a great series and everything seems to be diaglouge instead of action.』
(Rushed and anti-climatic end) 『I've read the series for a long time when I was younger and I still re-read them once in a while. I do not think Lynne Ewing is a very good writer (she describes the girl's outfit way too much), but Daughters of the Moon had unique ideas and was fun to read. I cannot say that about the last book. What happened Lynne Ewing?
I remember a long time ago that she had up to book 15 or so written. This does not seem to be the case any more as book 13 is the last book and she released it years after book 12. In addition, she has moved on to other series. I have to say, this ending felt rushed and the last battle anti-climatic. I felt there could have been more too the book and it seems that she just wanted to end the series once and for all. She throws away some established supporting characters (like the guys from Sons of the Dark), so easily. They're ending is only mentioned rather than properly told.
I mean, if you really want to know what happens, by all means read it. I feel it best if you only leave it to your own imagination than to do so.』
(Disappointing!) 『I was deeply disappointed with this book. It seemed rushed and slapped together just so the series would hurry up and be over with, which really let me down because I liked all the other books so much. Don't read it and be disappointed like I was.』
(Terrific end to the series) 『It has taken a few years, but there is finally a conclusion to the Daughters of the Moon series, as well as closure for its tie-in, Sons of the Dark. In The Final Eclipse, Vanessa and Serena finally find a way to flee Nefandus, the world the Atrox has kept them captive in, but only Vanessa manages to succeed in doing so. The situation becomes more dire back in L.A. when Vanessa discovers that not only is the moon being eclipsed permanently, much to the joy of the Atrox and its Followers, but that her seventeenth birthday is fast approaching. Any dedicated fan knows that that's a crucial day for a Daughter of the Moon -- if Vanessa isn't able to save Serena and stop the final eclipse before then, she will have to make a choice about her destiny that could very well keep her from being able to. This book is definitely the darkest in the series in terms of plot and character development, but Ewing still manages to weave in enough humor and whimsy to appease her readers. There are even situations that mirror those from the first book, making it feel more full-circle and reminding us that it really is the end. Many dangling plot-points are answered, and even though a couple were never addressed, having them be would have just made the book too clunky. Readers will regularly find themselves elated, shocked, and saddened by the events in the book, leaving them wanting more, but in a good way. After living with these characters for thirteen books (seventeen if you include the spin-off), I find myself missing them like an old friend, unable to stop thinking about the final book no matter how much time passes. The Final Eclipse is a worthy end to an excellent series that any fan would be a fool to miss out on.』 『Vanessa, Serena, Jimena, Catty, and Tiana are five seemingly ordinary girls from Los Angeles. But the truth is that they are all far from ordinary. They each have a secret power that separates them from others--and makes them Daughters of the Moon.

Dietz) 『As my comments from Legion of the Damned stated, I looked through my boyfriend's books, found this book and squirreled it away to begin reading the moment I finished the previous book. Again, Mr. Dietz did not disappoint in creating a vision of the future detailed enough to understand, but not so detailed that you would have a tendency to get bogged down in it. By the time the first few chapters were past Mr. Dietz had shocked me several times, though perhaps regular science fiction readers might not have been so shocked, I found them to be good, or at least acceptable shocks. Acceptable because I knew the moment after my mind had gotten done with the, "no, you can't do that, that's not fair," that really there was no other way for the story to be continued if that character still lived, got away scot-free, or what have you. Mr. Dietz appreciates his characters, keeps you in touch with them, but doesn't have any compunction on cutting one out or down to size as the plot required. 』
(The Hudathans strike back - with cyborgs of their own) 『Thirty years ago, as recorded in William C. Dietz's earlier novel Legion of the Damned, the Human Empire managed, thanks to the remarkable legionnaires and in particular the cyborgs in its ranks, to overthrow a corrupt and ineffective imperial government and defeat the powerful space fleet of the aggressive Hudathans. Admiral Poseen-Ka and thousands of his defeated soldiers were imprisoned on Worber's World, and mega-merchant turned hero Sergi Chien-Chu, the new leader of the victorious empire (now organized as the Confederacy of the Sentient) did not pursue a murderous assault on the Hugathan home world. This was a mistake. The Hugathans see any intelligent life form as a threat to their survival, a threat that must be eliminated. Their bitter defeat only strengthened their resolve, and they used what they had learned in the first war to prepare for the new offensive against the Confederacy. A major part of the new game plan involved the implementation of their own cyborg army, and the best and brightest of the Hudathan soldiers were given the honor of being killed and resuscitated in the metallic form of the Regiment of the Living Dead.
The Final Battle is a great read, but it does have its weaknesses. It takes a while to get into the novel, as we are reintroduced to a few major characters from the earlier book, men and women who are to some degree shadows of their old selves, and newly introduced to new heroes such as the half-human, half-Naa son of the famous William Booly. The young Booly eventually matures into an interesting character, but his role seems to fade as the ultimate conflict approaches; indeed, many important characters and plot points seem to fall away as the end approaches. Dietz is at his best in describing the intense action of the wars and skirmishes that take place, and the remarkable prison break that puts the Hudathans back into the game is a great example of this. I continue to have a little trouble accepting Poseen-Ka's eminence in the Hudathan war plans, though; he is a slow and methodical leader who goes against the aggressive nature of his race as a whole, a man who basically lost the first war single-handedly, and yet he regains immense power in the Hudathan military.
My biggest problem with this book concerns the position of the Clone Worlds. Their position inside the Confederacy is viewed as crucial, and much is made of the split between the world's three rulers in this regard, but - unless I just missed something - the Clones aren't even a factor in the pivotal events. All you get out of this particular storyline is an oversexed relationship between a clone and an aging human warrior. There is, in fact, a good deal of unnecessary sex in this book, sex that serves no real purpose whatsoever. When you have two important leaders continually making goo-goo eyes at each other when they are supposed to be laying the groundwork for the mutual survival of their worlds, that - to me - is a problem.
The second half of the novel does come across as a little rushed, and I'm still wondering where a few seemingly important sub-plots wandered off to, but The Final Battle still stands as an oftentimes gripping military science fiction adventure. Those who enjoyed Legion of the Damned should enjoy this second Legion novel, but the first novel is clearly the better of the two.』
(Not as Good as legion of the damned) 『First off all, the whole book was done about thirty years after the first book. Some of the characters should be around 5o-60 and are still running around in combat boots. Sure its a given that planetary armies need time to recover but come on. He should not have used his on senior citizen characters. His book did though have outstanding action that i much approve of. His book did not have what legion of the damned had, but it is still one of the best sci-fi books i have ever read.』
(Even better than Legion of the Damned) 『It really shows that sometimes sequals are better tan the originals. READ THIS BOOK, it is some of the best military SF i've ever read!』
(Disappointing) 『This book is a major disappointment to anyone who read"Legion of the Damned."It seems as if Dietz just got tired of writing the book in the middle and just ended it as quickly as possible. As always he has amazingly original ideas and the hooks in the beginning of the book are great. But missing is the intense detail and realism that made"Legion of the Damned"such a good book. In particular his development of the newest kind of human cyborg is so skeletal that it seems he just sketched it out in 5 minutes. While I had to buy this book due to the fact I loved Legion so much if you were just a mild fan of the previous book I'd say save yourself this disappointment.』 『The Confederacy is threatened by an uprising of the Hudathans, an unfeeling cyborg race that has built up its forces through stolen technology, and their only opponents are the members of the Legion.』

Some background information is also given, most importantly how master Tholme lost his eye. This was a good volume but not as good as volume 9 was.』
(The Last Siege, The Final Truth (Star Wars: Clone Wars, Vol. 8)) 『Folllows the other books in this series to bring you to the end of the clone wars and the take over of the sith, via Order 66. Good dialogue and grahics. Recommend getting all of this series.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Fun beginnings to a classic series) 『I tried to play final fantasy a few years back when I received Final Fantasy Origins as a gift. I was unable to complete the game back then due to some glitchiness on my PS2.
Out of boredom, I decided that since all 11 offline Final Fantasy games are currently available in some form in the US, that I would try and play them all! And I start with Final Fantasy on the PSP:
The redone graphics on the psp version are nice. Everything is brighter and more colorful than they were in Final Fantasy Origins. The gameplay was fun, leveling up your party, putting together a party of four made up of 6 potential classes (for me: monk, warrior, black mage, white mage), and playing your way through dungeons, overworld, and towns. I spent a lot of time just exploring, seeing what there was to discover.
The only real downside to this game is the lack of story and character development. As someone who sort of stumbled onto the Final Fantasy franchise later on (FFVII), the lack of interaction between the party members made for a general lack of a feeling of "ownership" of the group and their quest. And, aside from the very beginning of the game, and the very end of the game, the story wasn't all that gripping. It was mostly the exploration that kept me going through to the end.
I also found the general lack of clear direction to be a bit distracting at times. there were a couple points where I had to do some research to actually find out what I was supposed to be doing, and where I was supposed to be going to complete certain tasks/quests.
Overall, though, the game was fun, and the ending, though abrupt was satisfying. As a Final Fantasy fan, it was great to see where the series started, and it cemented my decision to go through the rest of the games in the series, while I wait for the release of Final Fantasy XIII.』
(Final Fantasy) 『i have one thing i have to say about this game.........where in the world is the map』
(Forever a Treasured Classic) 『I'm a 27 year-old guy who landed this game on NES back when it was first released. Zelda was my first RPG; I loved it, then Final Fantasy came along and sealed the deal for my love of RPG's. Years and many RPG's later (everything from Dragon Warrior to Neutopia to Breath of Fire to Landstalker, etc.), I landed Final Fantasy III for SNES and was - once again - in awe of the superiority of Final Fantasy.
Skip ahead however many years and Final Fantasy gets a HUGE facelift, but becomes linear and nowhere near as expansive as its predecessors. To this day, I've not liked any Final Fantasy past FF III for SNES. There's just something about the overhead view RPG's that has the look and feel I love. Because of this, this remake of Final Fantasy 1 is like a breath of fresh air... even having purchased and thoroughly beaten the, "Dawn of Souls" (FF1 and FF2 in one cartridge) remakes for GBA a year or so ago.
Having just purchased a PSP for the first time since they were released (I know... a late-bloomer), I've been scouring the internet for good RPG's on this platform. Needless to say, I saw this remake and swiped it right up (along with the FF2 remake as well). Now, I know a lot of people here say they can't really justify telling someone who has owned this remake on other systems to buy this one, but... if you love FF1 and still come back to revisit it through its entirity every couple of years or so, DEFINITELY buy this version!
It's everything you're familiar with, and then some. Being a truly COMPLETE rework (that is, this game was developed from scratch), the game looks great. You can check out a graphical comparison of the bosses (from NES development up to the PSP) here:
[...]
With the ability to save anywhere, the game is definitely a lot less challenging than it was on NES, but it's a welcomed addition for those of you who couldn't quite make it to Chaos. The four new dungeons add a lot to the game; including, new weapons, new enemies, new bosses, new levels (obviously), and - thus - new game play. While they're the same as the new dungeons from the GBA remake, the graphics are completely reworked; the whole game is just much more enjoyable to play as a whole.
Nobuo Uematsu's soundtrack is back, but with a bit of a touch-up. I'm an audiophile and a music buff, so I'm pretty fickle about classics being changed (even upgrading something from 8-bit to real instrumentation, lol) but nothing in this game has been changed in what I felt was a negative way; so, that's a definite plus! In addition to his soundtrack, the new dungeons have their own new music that I really dig.
Along with a complete rework of the graphics and an updated soundtrack, the next major PSP-only feature is the addition of the, "Labyrinth of Time." Man, this is one of the most frustrating things I've ever played in ANY RPG! It's EXTREMELY challenging, has NUMEROUS paths and outcomes, and generally just makes the rest of the game seem like a cakewalk (which it kind of is anyway, being 27 and not 9 or 10, lol). Chaos is *nothing* compared to Chronodia (who has artwork that reminds one of the majesty of Kefka at the end of FF III or perhaps a boss that would've been found in Breath of Fire 2)... but that's all I'll mention in regards to that. I won't post any spoilers or additional information, because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. If you want to know more about the Labyrinth of Time, Gooooooogle!
The only gripe I have (and that's just because I'm diggin' for one) is the time it can take to load new enemies you encounter, new towns, new dungeons, etc... but we're talking 3-4 seconds, max; a small price to pay for as much enjoyment as I get out of this game.
So... if you're like me and you're absolutely, hopelessly stuck in the land of - and in love with - 8-bit and 16-bit RPG's (but dig cleaned up enhancements and a few additions to the game), I HIGHLY recommend this version of FF1. I realize there are a lot of people out there who disagree with my opinion, but they have their opinions and I have mine. Hopefully, I've spelled mine out enough to reach out to the exact demographic of those who share it.
Now, if only I can somehow convince Square-Enix to port FF III (SNES) to PSP...

(The game that sailed a thousand ships...) 『Reviewed for Big Boss Games By: Tim
Prologue: Taken from the instruction book.
The world lies shrouded in darkness. The winds die... the seas rage... the earth decays... but the people believe in a prophecy, patiently awaiting its fulfillment.
"When darkness veils the world, four warriors of light shall come..."
After a long journey, four young travelers did last appear... ...and in the hand of each was clutched a crystal
Personal Note: I can remember 20 years ago when I was about to borrow this new game called Final Fantasy for the Nintendo system, I was 9 years old and the game was not like any I had ever played before in my young life. Final Fantasy had a long story with a turn based battle system. It was my first adventure RPG. Final Fantasy wasn't like all those action platformers that ran wild in the Nintendo universe. It was more grown up and fulfilling than those non-thinking games out at the time.
Story: 4/5 This game taught me to read and to have patience, that not every minute in a game had to be filled with flash and heart pounding adventures. The story in Final Fantasy has been updated many times. Final Fantasy has been told on the NES, PS1 and GBA. Now it has made it's way onto the PSP. This time around they have added more tidbits to the major story line. I enjoy a good remake and the story was redone enough for me to enjoy it.
Sound: 3/5 It's hard to update a Final Fantasy music soundtrack that is over 20 years old because it still stands up to the test of time. Square Enix has added some new beats with the same hauntingly mystic sounds the will follow you into your dreams. I enjoyed the music to this game.
Graphics: 4.5/5 OMG! The graphics upgrade on this game is phenomenal. What a difference from the PS1 version of the game. The sunlight flowing through the woods in the Elf village was such a nice touch. That was when I started to really notice the graphics over haul. Oh, this game is so pretty.
Game-play: 3/5 Final Fantasy's game-play is the same as it was 20+ years ago. Turn-based attack system. You attack, then the monsters attack till one of you dies. I, for one, will never tire of this type of battle system, as long as the story keeps me playing the game.
Replay Value: 1/5 Once you complete the game there is no reason to play the game over unless you want to see the whole story over again.
Overall: 3.5/5 I'm one of the biggest Final Fantasy fan EVER! This was a great remake. I recommend this game for everyone that has loved the final fantasy games that appeared after this one, just to see where it all began. In a word WOW! If Square-Enix can remake all the Final Fantasies like this one than I'm going to be a very poor man from buying all those games again!』 『Final Fantasy PSP In Final Fantasy, the tale begins when four young warriors, each possessing a Crystal, are summoned to bring the world back to a harmonious elemental balance. Remastered exclusively for the PSP system, this all-new anniversary edition features all-new character art, updated graphics, new dungeons, full 16:9 widescreen presentation and an updated camera view that gives players a new vantage point on such a timeless classic RPG.』

First of all, if you can't like this game because of a Crystal Ball, because it's against your religious beliefs, then you shouldn't be watching Dragon Ball Z in the first place. The show is, afterall, fiction. I personally like this game. It fills in some gaps from the show where you wonder, "Hey, what was everyone doing?" in the year that it took the Saiyans to get to Earth after Raditz died.
I've always hoped they'd make a RPG for DBZ, where it didn't always need to have buttons being bashed to get combos. This takes a little more thought, as it is a turn based game. I only wished that they had just went for the whole Dragon Ball universe, but hopefully they'll continue on with this spirit and make the rest of the Sagas in this way.』

Well I have all the DB, DBZ games for GBA,&DS but this game... I expected better from this game after seeing the graphic's on Dragon Ball: Origin's - DS&playing Dragon Ball: Origin's - DS this new DBZ: Attack of the saiyan's is decent at best but nothing I would highly recommend&I'm a big fan of DB, DBZ, DBGT the graphic's are shotty they moved two steps up with Dragon Ball: Origin's&took two steps back with this game it has graphics that look like there from the old GBA sad. This might be the last time I ever buy any more Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT games when they put the word crystal ball in the game then I stop buying the games. I'm sorry but I don't believe in that sort of stuff I am a christian&when I started watching Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT back in 2002 I liked the storyline&fighting scenes&the drama the games have been good through the years because most of them involve fighting&good storyline but this game has some real shotty work. Sorry but I'm not impressed. DB, DBZ, DBGT use to be pretty good cartoon's to sit down&watch granted I didn't agree with everything in the some of the story's or episodes but this game is ridiculous. GBA graphic's&a storyline that is half baked decent at best?!? Obvisiouly who ever made this game did not put to much work into it. I almost feel dumb for putting this game on reserve at Gamestop back in August of 09.
If your going to get this game I'd recommend waiting intil it hits the used shelves at GameStop for under 12 or 13 bucks.

Some people don't care for FFII, but I thought it was just as good as the first. The music gets annoying after awhile (puts me to sleep when my husband is playing), but otherwise great game play. Unfortunetly, the didn't put the added missions on the Playstation version like they did on some other game consoles. It was also hard to find cheats online, not many people seem to be sharing their info. I would recommend it to any role playing game fanatic.』
(Great Game/ Bad Service) 『Great game including two legends of the RPG genre from the Nintendo era with upgraded graphics. The bad: bought from Amazon.com (not a vendor) and still sent a re-sealed copy (read: not factory sealed). Sent for a replacement but thought I should warn potential collectors out there. Once I get a replacement I hope to enjoy the old times once again.』
(Final Fantasy Remastered) 『After playing Final Fantasy I for NES back in the early 90's, I decided it would be fun to revisit this classic.
Pros: The new intro movie is great. The menu interface is now very similar to the way that Final Fantasy VII is set up. The remake makes it easier to choose the best equipment for your characters including an optimize option. The new collections menu is also nice because it includes a list of every monster after you defeat it, and keeps track of how many of each monster you defeat. The memo feature is a life saver, especially when going though longer dungeons and right before big bosses. While anywhere except for the world map, you now have the option of running instead of just walking, which speeds up game play.
Cons: The monsters are different from the monsters of the original Final Fantasy for NES. This may not seem like a big deal, but it can make it difficult in deciding which battles to run from and which battles to fight. Also the music has been updated. This may not seem like a big deal but I prefer the classic music to the remastered music.
Overall, this is a great game for anybody who loves the Final Fantasy series. 』
(Excellent Game) 『I played this from my 60GB PS3. I absolutely loved Final Fantasy I. I had never played it before and was totally immersed in the final fantasy world I had loved as a kid. Hands down, I think it's one of the best games ever made and I believe that everyone should play at least one final fantasy game. I tend to recommend VII first, but Final Fantasy I comes next. Personally, I have grown tired of the constant fighting and some of the features added to the later games. I was not able to play much of Final Fantasy II as it froze on me in the ice cavern which was necessary to complete in order to progress in the game. I had downloaded the latest update, but have noticed others with the 60 gig PS3 have had similar problems. This is the only reason I give the collection 4 stars instead of 5. Still, though, the little bit of the second installment I was able to play was very fun as well. I would just suggest playing it on a different PS3 (20GB or 80GB should be fine but do a Google check first) or playing it on PS. I think you'll quickly see why this is such a well-liked and classic game.』
(Classic) 『I don't know any self-respecting gamer who hasn't spent time with the Final Fantasy series. This disk is a real treat: the first 2 games in the Final Fantasy series. This disk WILL work with both Playstation 1 and Playstation 2, I am not sure about the PS 3 as I don't own one to test it in. The game is rated Teen for "violence", seems silly to me as you are just beating up monsters and there is NO blood or gore. I would rate it Teen because it's more complex than your average pre-teen may be able to handle.
If you have not tried the Final Fantasy series before, treat yourself to this one. It still holds up very well after all these years, unlike so many other games from this era out there. You will find fun game-play, a good story, and many hours of game-play to finish both games. This classic belongs in every gamer's library of games.』 『Ever want to know what started the Final Fantasy phenomenon? Now's your chance to play the original "Final Fantasy" (released in North America in 1990) as well as "Final Fantasy II" (never released before in North America) for the first time ever. The origins of the landmark Final Fantasy series will now be enhanced for the Playstation game console taking advantage of technology not available at the time of the original release.Format: PSX Genre: RPG (VG) Age: 662248903019 UPC: 662248903019 Manufacturer No: 9824』
