(poor design)
『The customer help from Sanyo is terrible. I had a problem with the top lid. The internal spring for closing the lid broke after 3 months and the sanyo customer service insisted it is not covered under the warranty and said they will try to fix it at charge. The service representative was not courteous. I as asked to prepay to fix this. But the Amazon was kind eneough to replace the defectvie at no cost.』

(OK product, but no customer service! No replacement parts for repair!)
『This is a good rice cooker when it works.
However, the titanium coding of the inner pot peels off after several month of normal usage and becomes unsafe to cook food.
Even though the rice cooker comes with 1 year warranty. Sanyo does not have any customer service on the pot at all.
To make the situation even worse, Sanyo does not even have a replacement pot customers can buy to keep using the rice cooker safely.

In my opinion, Sanyo still has a long way to go to catch up Zojirushi for the quality of it's products. $100 for a rice cooker which only last 9 month is not something i will do again.

Update: Finally got some comfirmation from Sanyo about the inner pot. There is absolutely nothing Sanyo can do, i lose my $100.
Buyers beware: Sanyao has discontinued manufactured any of the inner pots. This is a product with no warranty!』

(Best rice cooker i've ever owned.)
『OK, I tend to look for value in a product. Price is usually my first marker, and spending this much on a rice cooker had to be justified. I've owned cheaper rice cookers and the rice just never came out the way I liked. So, I've ended up wasting a lot of rice due to it going bad. I switched from white rice to brown rice and have to say this cooks brown rice to perfection. Nice and fluffy and not chewy and undercooked and leftover rice in the warmer is perfect. It also a steamer and does other functions as well. I'm very happy with my purchase. If your looking to skimp on a cheaper rice cooker, don't. There is a reason these rice cookers are more expensive. They do a very good job, you waste less, and save money overall.

(Simply amazing)
『I researched rice cookers for several days, comparing the pros and cons of each brand and/or model. This 5.5 cup rice/slow cooker, steamer and tofu maker take the top spot for me. I have not tried the tofu or steam cooking yet. However, rice of all kinds are cooked to perfection. Slow cooking is also a breeze with this unit. I couldn't really ask for anything more for the money. Great value and excellent performance.』

(How did I ever live without the ECJ-HC55S)
『Retractable cord is a plus. Easy to use and clean. Very high build quality. Extra pan and lid liner, steamer tray included. I've mainly used this for rice and soft-boiled eggs. I like being able to load rice in the morning and have hot rice ready when I get home from work. Need to use the second pan and try some of the recipes in the cookbook.

The excellent quality of this unit and the results with the rice, would probably push me purchase the Sanyo ECJ-PX50S pressure rice cooker available on Amazon.』

(So far, so good!)
『This is my first rice cooker and I love it! It is so simple and makes the best rice ever. Mostly this device has made my life much simpler and I look forward to playing with it and trying new recipes very soon.』

(Unreliable product)
『This rice cooker stopped working after two weeks' normal use. I am very disappointed. The controls stopped working and don't respond to press any more. Too bad I discarded the packaging too early and I have to claim warranty now.
When it worked, it did produce good rice. The pots look sturdy and cook speed is fast. It offers lots of other features but it broke even before we had chance to try those features out.
We eat rice often and we used to use an Aroma rice cooker bought from Costco. It's nothing fancy no funky fuzzy logic control inside but it worked and still works.
I think this rice cooker certainly doesn't meet the high quality standard Japanese appliances usually carry.
If you buy it, do yourself a favor keep the packaging.

(fantastic rice cooker)
『I got this this rice cooker a month ago. It's been working very well. I like its not sticky at all and all the functionalities. However, the clock may slow down once in a while. Overall, it's really worth the money!』

(Wonderful ideas but not high quality)
『My Tiger computerized rice cooker has worked for more than 5 years and it still works very well, but it looks old. So I thought it was time to get a new rice cooker. I did a lot of research and finally decided to get the Sanyo 10-cup micro-computerized rice cooker and slow cooker because it has so many interesting features and I have a big family now. After I used it a couple of times I realized it was not as good as I had been expecting.

Many people have described the positive aspects, which I agree with, but there are also several negative points, which I have experienced, and share with you here:
1.The lid is not sealed very well. I can see some light go through a small gap from the side.
2.When I push the lid opening button, it opens so quickly and forcefully that the empty cooker shakes and tilts.
3.When first using the cooker there was a strong plastic smell (someone has already mentioned that)
4.Rice will go bad easily if left inside the cooker a little bit longer. My Tiger can keep rice fresh for a very long time even in the summer.

Honestly for a rice cooker it does it's job. Thinking of price, the Sanyo has been much lower than a Zojirushi but recently the price of the Sanyo is getting higher so the gap is much less.

This is the first time I have returned a product. If the Sanyo 5½ cup cooker price drops down to reasonable range I would consider buying it because I need a slow cooker too. Or I would buy a Zojirushi rice cooker which my friend has and says works better than my old Tiger.』

(cooks well, but aluminum lids, plastic smell,)
『cooks very well, rice or slow cooking,
but if i am to choose again, i might choose a better product that does not use aluminum inner lids.
also the plastic smell is very strong at the first few times you use it.』

『All in one, a Healthy Rice Cooker and Slow Cooker. This cooker comes with separate inner pots and inner lids for rice and slow cooking to prevent flavor contamination and conveniently prepare a whole meal with one machine. The titanium-coated, extra-thick (3mm), non-stick rice cooking inner pot has rounded edges at the bottom for maximum heat distribution and optimum cooking. The multi-menu selections are ideal for white rice, mixed rice, rinse-free rice, sushi rice, brown rice, haiga rice, quick cooking, tofu cooking, slow cooking and steaming. There are High&Low slow cook temperature settings for up to 12 hours and the LCD clock and 24-hour preset timer allows for cooking completion at desired time. The convenient keep-warm function keeps rice warm and delicious after cooking without over-cooking. There is a special Tofu (soy curd) function for preparing nutritious and perfect homemade Tofu every time. The Steaming function includes a unique tray for preparing healthy steamed foods. Includes two Inner Pots and two Inner Lids, Tofu Container, Steaming Tray, Measuring Cup, Spatula&Multi-Language InstructionRetractable CordManual with Recipes IncludedCapacity - 10 cups uncooked (20 cups Cooked)Power Consumption - 910 Watts』

(number 1 and 3 are amazing)
『I loved number one: "Enta Omni Remix" and number 3: "Batwanni Beek REG Project". I wish I could get more of their music. I didn't care about all the songs where there was an actual singer singing a song.』

(The worst of the Bellydance Superstar series)
『Most songs have a club beat to it and that is fine, if you are looking for music with a Middle Eastern flair to listen to.

For bellydancers, this CD will most likely be a disappointment. I am not opposed to more modern music for bellydancing, but I don't like this artificial club beat overlay on these songs. Besides, if you already own some bellydance music, chances are you already own the same or better versions of Bel Arabi, Enta Omri, Bitwannes Beek, Ala Meen and Zeina.

The ones I do like on this CD, and find usable are Turbo Tabla 4 and Isham Houshan's drum solo.

I use the Bellydance Superstar CDs 1, 2, 3 and 5 for my class, but this CD stays on the shelf.』

(excellent purchase)
『The item was exactly as the seller described it. It arrived in excellent condition and quite quickly.』

(Great songs for belly dance warm-ups and routines!)
『This CD is packed with songs, mostly quick-paced and energetic, that will get you in the mood to put on your hip scarf and dance! My absolute favorite is track number seven, Turbo Tabla 4, but there are so many others that really can help you work up a sweat!』

(All Music&No Rachel Dancing)
『I wouldn't have bought this if I'd realized it was a CD instead of a DVD. The music is as it should be, but I was disappointed because I have Bellydance Superstars 3 and thought this would also feature dancing¬ just music. I guess the fact that this was a CD would've been evident if I'd looked hard enough, but beware--read the fine print!』

(great, useful, CD!)
『Hey I'm a cabaret girl, and I loved this CD. It definately has that stripped down tribal thing going on, but the tracks are upbeat and funky. There is a great Beledi that I can't stop listening to.....Good stuff!』

(A great challenge with awesome beats!)
『Another great album by Mr. Nagi! I love his stuff because it challenges me as a dancer. Karim has studied music and the originality of it through and through tis why it makes it a great and moving challenge. You have to learn the music and know HOW to move to it. Stonecutter is one of my faves but all the songs, for me... are hits. This album will def. make you put your best shimmy forward...Raqs on...AIWA!』

(Some really fun tracks!)
『This CD has some really fun tracks! I have had fun dancing and teaching to them!

(Karim Nagi has done it again...)
『A second cd for Turbo Tabla, and a second hit!

Karim has outdone himself on this one. Each track is great for dancing to or just jamming to in the car.

Nice job, Mr. K!

~YD』

(Nice fusion of traditional drum and modern electronic music)
『This one really gets me going - in the kitchen, in the bathroom taking a shower or putting on make-up, even in the car - it has me shimmying, rippling and gyrating all over the place! I am partial to drums and the tempo varies from song to song, lots to play with here. I like the fact that, while the music incorporates modern electronica, it isn't too "new-agey". On most tracks it is just background for the traditional instrumentation - I skip over the ones that are a little too "techno-y" too, but that's only a couple of the tracks.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review
(Another of the "lost generation" of digital recordings)
『Telarc always put a premium on sound quality, but the hazard of being an "early adopter" happened here. The Bizet and Grieg were digitally recorded in 1979 before CDs existed! The 50KHz sample rate was not adopted by the "Red Book" CD, making it hard to transfer without sonic artifacts. DSD solves the artifact problem, but leaves us with a recording no better than a CD in fidelity. So, if you are looking for real SACD sound quality, skip this disk. Sadly, Slatkin's great performances are trapped forever in this low resolution digital state --- as are all of the digitally recorded performances until DSD and DXD came along about 10 years ago. But the lost generation continue as market momentum perpetuates the 96KHz and 192KHz standards. To my ears, you have to get up to twice that to match the resolution of even 1960 vintage analog, as one can hear in the beautiful Living Stereo series SACD reissues. The future of high resolution audio is still in flux. While SACD did not displace CD, it survives in the audiophile ecosystem ... ready to reinvade the mass market ecosystem when the time is right???』

(DSD Makes them sound better!)
『This SACD of the Bizet and Grieg Suites started out life as a

Telarc L.P. DG 10048 then is was released on CD, now it has been

remasterd and issued as a Hybrid SACD that plays in stereo.

These perfomances were recorded using the Soundstream System

which were done at 50kHz. CD's were done at 44.1 which meant

that some of the great sound of the recordings were lost when

being transfered to CD. Fortunatly the SACD uses something

called Direct Stream Digital or DSD. This allows the origianl

(Abusive Teenager toward parent)
『I saw this on Lifetime Movie. It's not fair, that the mother gets arrested for something she didn't do.It was the other son that beat up the other son.』

(Dangerous Child review)
『Excellent story line! The mother made you feel the pain of a mother with a child that's "different" and the child showed magnificent acting ability in his portrayal of a emotionally disturbed young person. Acting realistic! Very good!』

(Children abusive to parents!)
『You always here about parents abusind children but not in this movie! The rolls are reversed. A teenage boy becomes extremely abusive to his devorced mother. This is a reality movie. And what I mean is this is some thing that happens all of the time actually more and more but it really goes unseen. How often do you hear abouta child abusing their parents? Thats what I thought. But in the movie, you will see how a mother struggles to overcome this ordeal. And you will see how anger really affects some and how others around them learn to lie about the bruises, loud crashing of things and the truth. Every parent who has ever had an abusive child could see them selves in this movie. It was a great lifetime movie.....』

(Dangerous Child)
『This show is great. I love Ryan Merriman in this movie. Hes almost like me in this movie. I really wanna see it again. Ryan is soooooo hot in this movie. But I would never abuse my mom or my dad.』

(Ryan Merriman in Dangerous Child)
『I think that this movie is very good. It has a lot of good acting in it and so forth. Ryan did a very good job in this movie when he would get all pissed of and throw stuff...when he looked mad it was kinda scary. He would get all weapy too... This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. For anyone who likes Ryan Merriman I would suggest this movie. It has alot of suppense too like what's up with him? and what is wrong with him he has problems? or issues as I like to call them.
It shows that there isn't just child abuse kids can abuse there parents too. and it shows what abuse is really like. It's a very good movie... I would recommend that you see it.』

『Brenda (Virginia Madsen, Candyman, Dune) and Scott Kniffen (Jeffrey Nordling, TVs "Once and Again") are accused of child molestation and physical abuse. Without a shred of evidence, the authorities arrest them and take their two young sons into protective custody. The boys are lead to believe that if they give the "right" testimony, they will be returned to their parents. Through relentless badgering, the impressionable children are coerced into testifying against their parents. After an agonizing nine-month trial The Kniffin's are sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes they did not commit. While their sons are tormented by uncertain memories and obscure recollections, Brenda and Scott face many horrors in prison. Based on a True Story.』

(Contemporary romance)
『With highlight over Contemporary romance in comparison to older times love, this new hindi movie is meant for the youth and completely relates to both the generations. It is a movie that throws light on how the 2 generations don't understand each other and how broad each of their thinking is. With a starcast like Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan, who are the face of youth in Bollywood, the movie shows how love in two different generations was the same feeling.... flowery. It's just about how people treat their love differently. Comparing the lifestyles of people in 2 different countries, the movie is based in London, Delhi and Calcutta. It showcases the best of the 2 countries.
It's a feel good movie and worth watching again and again with the high quality picturization and amazing dance and romantic songs churned into a beautiful tale of 2 generations that makes you feel that "love" is truly a bliss and worth giving your life for just like Veer (Saif Ali Khan) does!!』

『Contemporary romantic movie. Deals with current day love and life dilemma, faced by youth in cities in modern day India. The film has many a fun moment and the strong emotions portrayed effortlessly by the energetic cast makes it an interesting new age Indian cinema worth a watch.』

(Cute action film)
『Despite the corny, unrealistic action moves (especially the beginning) it was really enjoyable to watch this cops and robbers chase from India into Brazil. The love story was irresistible as well, with a believable performance by both Aishwarya and Hrithik.』

(Dhoom 2 has some shine, but not quite a diamond...)
『I am by no means a Bollywood fanatic, but since I work with indians where I'm at, I dabble from time to time(Just for a background):

I had become a fan of Aishwarya Rai through some of her other movies, and that was my inspiration to purchasing here. As stunning as she is visually, she can be a bit stiff with her acting...But I was pleased by the results.

The film opens with a fantastic heist sequence that would be good even in Hollywood standards, though some of the sequence is a bit over the top, it sets a good tone. The main theme that begins and ends the film is then played...Easily the best song of the movie, with great energy to set the tone for the movie. The plot surrounds Mr. A(ryan)as the worlds greatest thief, Sunehri a competing theif that yearns for Mr. A's attention, and Jai, Shonali, and Ali as the police trying to catch him.

The Heist sequences are all rather innovative, and the music, while not spectatularly stimulating lyrically, serve to add the comic relief or romance required. The dramatic elements do provide irony and recall Heat and Italian Job/Ocean's 11/12/13 with some of the setups. The scenes between the theives really are the heart of this film, and one in particular really stole the film...It was one of the best scenerios and most emotionally charged moments I have seen in any movie, and to that I commend it. The comedy of the Cops is enjoyable yet sometimes forced, but is also expected from a Bollywood film. The actual storyline without the music could have created a more focused film, but that is just me with a Hollywood mind sense of film making.

The film is very enjoyable, and if you are new to the Bollywood experience, I would say this is a good start, as it does its best to be a western film. The 4/5 is given due to some of the flow of the film stalling from the required music of Bollywood. I really enjoyed the film as a whole, and I do not mind the musical fusion that is involved, it is a part of the culture, but I also feel that it could be blended better than this film provided. I did enjoy it, and will watch the film again in the future, as the the characters and story are solid, I just can not offer 5 stars when there are blemishes showing.

Please view it for yourself and decide for yourself...The good clearly outweigh the bad.』

(One of the Best Bollywood films)
『If you are a fun of Bollywood or would like to get into these kinds of films, this is a must have. My family and I saw this once at a friends house and ended up getting it for our home also. Great Sound Track and the story is good too. MUST HAVE.』

(This film rocks!!!)
『I absolutely LOVED this movie--action, action, action, lots of great song and dance numbers. Aishwarya and Hrithik are super sexy. Buy It and Enjoy!』

(Underrated anime cult favorite!)

Well known Oil industrialist Leonard Dawson has recently celebrated his 60th birthday on a ship and his son Robert has been shot mysteriously. It seems the hitman who killed him is known as Golgo 13 who is a very mysterious and cunning assassin as he's a professional who is a bigtime ladies man and snappy dresser, Dawson is so furious over his son's death that he decides to hire some assassins on his own and even send out the FBI after Golgo 13 as our man must fight for his own life.

Exciting, sexy and violent Japanese animated action thriller is the best movie about the popular Manga character around. This one is definitely not a kid's animated movie due to graphic bloody violence, sex and language galore and the animation is very stunning for it's time including some early use of CGI before today's computer graphics. The storyline is very nice and does have some powerful moments like the climax with a superb music score, this is one of the most underrated anime movies ever.

This DVD contains both the English dubbed and Japanese Language with English Subtitles versions with extras like interview, still gallery, trailer and trailers to other Urban Vision Entertainment releases.

Also recommended: "Fist of the North Star", "Leon", "Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend", "Wicked City", "Vampire Hunter D 1&2", "Ghost in The Shell 1&2", "Nausicca: Valley of the Wind", "Akira", "Perfect Blue", "Spriggan", "Metropolis", "The Departed", "Goodfellas" and "Casino".』

(Call In The Professional)
『Probably the best action-crime anime movies ever done is this, the first animated outlet for one of the longest running(and still is!)manga titles ever, Golgo 13. The manga is about Duke Togo(aka: Golgo 13), who is pretty much the world's greatest assassin-for-hire. Prior to this 1983 movie, there was a live-action one from the 70s starring Sonny Chiba as Golgo.

The Professional sees Golgo hired to take out the son of a gazillionaire oil dealer, Leonard Dawson, who was going to inherit the business from his father just as Golgo kills him. Dawson then sets out to terminate Golgo for the death of his son. He sends out everything from the mafia, the CIA, the U.S. military, and inhuman killers to do it. Having survived ambushes, insane car chases, and nearly entire cities blown up around him, Golgo eventually makes his way to Dawson's skyscraper stronghold.

The movie was directed by anime pioneer Osamu Dezaki, whose prior works included Astro Boy, Lupin, and Space Adventure Cobra. His vision turns this film into a gritty, almost grindhouse-like action flick. There's some amazing animation in it for its time, and if you're just a fan of great splatterific films like The Transporter or Dirty Harry, this is totally one you gotta look up.』

(Old school Streamline anime)
『The Professional: Golgo 13 is an oldie but goodie that was originally put out by now defunct Streamline Productions. Back in the 90's, before the DVD format took over, Streamline's anime catalogue laid the foundation for today's anime. Akira, Neo Tokyo, Vampire Hunter D, Fist of the North Star, Lupin--all of these titles were born out of Streamline. As anime studios adapted the DVD format, Streamline couldn't keep up with the changes and went out of business; their orphaned titles languished in moratorium status. Slowly, anime studios such as Manga and Urban Vision reproduced all of Streamline's old-school anime.

In 2001, Pioneer and Todd McFarlane processed Akira onto DVD. Four more years passed. Then, in 2005, Urban Vision processed The Professional: Golgo 13 onto DVD. Up till then, I'd been wearing out my old VHS tapes--I still have all of them btw--and praying that those tapes--and my old VCR--would hold up to all the wear and tear. Now, with the exception of the original Fist of the North Star, the DVD format has redeemed most of Streamline's anime catalogue.

The Professional: Golgo 13 opens on the crowded deck of a luxurious cruise ship. Here, oil tycoon Leonard Dawson surrenders all of his corporate stake and power to his best friend, his right hand man, and his only son, Robert Dawson. There's a throng of applause; the tearful father embraces his son. Then there's a noise--the loud pop of a firecracker, and Robert Dawson--Leonard Dawson's only son--reels backward with blood pulsing out of his forehead. He falls overboard with his frantic father diving into the bright sea after him. Several miles away, a gunman casually packs away his high-powered rifle. With the same violence with which he built his oil empire, Leonard Dawson employs equal measure in seeking his son's assassin: Golgo 13.

Technically, Golgo 13 is a neanderthal compared with today's animation. Golgo 13's smudgy and hand-drawn like an old comic book. The frame-rate is low and jerky. Often, the pale colors bleed into each other. An Atari-style CGI helicopter shaped like a trapezoid was the film's sole attempt at any type of sophistication. All this said, Golgo 13 compensates for its weaknesses by using explosive elements such as bright flashes, rushing backgrounds, ultra-violence, great music, noir atmosphere, and dollops of cheesy cool.

Golgo 13, hot wings, a bag of chips, and an ice cold beer--pure heaven.

(Interesting for a non-anime fan like me)
『Just for the record, I'm not a huge anime fan. I'm not a manga fan either. Not that I am against either of these art genres, it's just that I never had the time or the money to dedicate to getting into them.

That being said, I've been fascinated by Golgo 13 since I played the original NES game and its sequal. To this day, my friends and I use, "I need a custom M-16, one with electric percussion and push button style" and "..." as an IM response as an inside joke.

Once a year or so, I consider getting some of the Golgo 13 books to see what it was like. I finally tried buying this movie. I've never read the books, just played the video games.

I liked this movie a lot. The weakest part was the opening credits, it looked like a bad 1980's heavy metal video combined with bad 1980's CGI. The music was also a bit cheesy. Outside of that, the artwork throughout the film was good looking and maintained aa unique style. Unlike the handful of anime films that I have seen (Akira, for example), the plot did not devolve or get super-confusing. Indeed, it was an extremely straight forwards plot. It did have a twist, but I guessed the twist fairly early on. Nevertheless, the film was still quite enjoyable. The action sequences were very well done and could be followed. The bad guys were all quite devious and did not sink to the levels of threadbare archetypes like you see in a lot of films. There were even a few scenes that I was disturbed by, which is fairly unusual and shows that the film really packed an impact that few films do.

Overall, I liked this film a lot. If you are a fan of Golgo 13, or looking to learn more about the character or the series, I recommend this film.

J.Ja』

(Golgo 13: The Professional or Not?)
『Golgo 13, hired gun, emotionless killer... The character of G13 is what drew me to this movie. His character looked cool and the plot sounded solid. I already had a fondness for realistic Japanese animation. Couple that with my love of all things "Hit Man" and I was good to go. G13 has a personal code of honor that he lives by. Darned if I can tell what it is though. He seems to have a great affinity for getting out of tough spots and getting with chicks. All that I really noticed was that once he takes on a job he doesn't stop until it is completed. At one point he even takes a job from a man that dies shortly after paying him to make the hit. Golgo was paid to hit a target, and he intends to keep up his end of the deal. "That's cool I guess." I had really high hopes for this movie. But alas I was let down. The story line is almost incoherent to the point of un-watchability. The bad guys are stupid and not very sinister. One bad guy is pretty messed up. There is an implied rape scene that goes a little to far that seems to have been put in the film to make the point that the bad guy is sick minded as well as creepy looking. "Thanks, like I couldn't have figured that out already." Golgo is only in snippets here and there. He never says much, or does much for that matter. It's really hard to explain this movie because it is so jumbled and sketchy that the human brain has trouble compiling the information into linear thought. I'm trying to be cool about this, but this movie is really bad... It could have been great, all of the elements are there, cool character, good plot premise, action, well drawn, classic feel. But it really left me feeling weird and foggy. It is one of those movies that you buy thinking it is going to be great, but you end up almost ashamed that you have it on your DVD rack. It really is a shame. My quest for the perfect animated hit man movie continues.』

『So after buying and consuming coffee candies in North America, Europe and Asia I will state this is, BY FAR!!!!, the best product. I also give this as a gift to friends, family and co-workers, and the ones who like coffee also love these candies. We all favor the "cappucino" over the the "regular". Great while driving or when you want a little lift.』

They are most certainly worth ordering!!!』

(Disappointing USB Performance)
『I bought this item mainly due to its USB function to eliminate the need to bring a separate USB charger. The first one I got, the USB did not charge anything so I returned and got a second one. As it turned out, this one only charges one of the four devices that I brought with me that should be well with its voltage/amp capability quoted on spec.』

(Useful AC and USB Adaptor)
『For some reason, this doesn't work with all European devices. Even the supplier didn't know why, but did their best to help.

The USB aspect is actually really useful, and will do the latest generation of ipods - very handy when you don't lug your Mac around, or want to splash out on an overpriced Apple charger.

It's simplicity, and compact, lightweight design make this a great piece of kit for the seasoned traveller.』

(Do not buy it!)
『I purchased two of these. First of all, the converters I received look totally different from the one pictured above. This "alternate" design has loose prongs that move about - not exactly a good attribute for an elctrical connector - and the body of it looks as if it could fall apart any moment. For $5 a piece it is relatively inexpensive, but was still a total waste of money since I will probably never use it.』

(Don't know what the complaints are about.)
『I have owned this microwave for over a year and have NONE of the described problems. Remember people, its a microwave not a rugged design Jeep accessory. If your door is breaking and the panel seems flimsy maybe try using your fingers to press the buttons instead of fists. It cooks well and rarely needs more time or even the full amount of recommended cooking time although I do agree that the inside seems to stain somewhat easier than other products I've used and purchased; but if you cover your food when you cook it and clean it more than once in a while (like when the spill/splatter happens) the stains don't hold.』

(works great)
『We had a Sharp convection microwave combo prior to this one and loved it. Didn't use the convection part that often but the Sharp was always dependable and works well. This new one is no disappointment. I like the defrost program - it works well compared to previous microwaves we have had. With anything - you learn to use it based on your preferences but the Sharp brand has been dependable and the power and 2.2 cu is great.
I would not hesitate to recommend this microwave to someone.』

(Faulty Door by Design&Runs Very Hot)
『I'm looking at buying the 4th one of these in 5 years. Why the same model every time? The space was custom built for it&so far haven't been able to find another that fits as well. First one had to be repaired after a month as the door refused to open, ultimately that one burned out after cooking microwave popcorn for the lowest amount of time listed on the package. (Everything cooks in lower range of recipe recommended times or less - have never dared to try any higher time amounts.) 2nd one came&door would not open at all - bravo Amazon - they replaced it quickly. 3rd one has worked for 18 months - door is starting to fail - it will still open if you pull up on the handle while pushing the button, but it's only a matter of time...』

(This is a replacement)
『I just ordered one of these to replace one I had gotten 8 years ago.
I had no problems with it at all insofar as cooking, heating, defrosting, etc. About a year ago, the number, word display started to peter out; however, the oven still was fully functional - you just needed to be able to figure out what the display was. I figure 8 years of almost daily use is a good life time for such a unit. I was thrilled to find one to replace it and hope that I will have the same luch with this one.』

(worst microwave ever)
『One week with the microwave and the control panel segments started to fail. 3 months and the thing got very loud. inside stains easier than most. uneven heating. We use it alot (2 meals a day). Shopping for a new microwave.』
『Sleek 21st century design isn't the only thing that distinguishes this full-size microwave oven from everything on the market. Large capacity oversized turntable and high-speed performance are ideal for large families.』

(Not worth the DLNA as advertise)
『Very poor on DLNA, I initially bought the box to preserve my collections of digital pictures&video and to easily access them through my TV or web browser. By the time I have moved my files into the box, I noticed that folders are missing or files are incomplete. I reported this to the Tech Support and did not get anywhere, I waited for the new firmware (01.05.0000.08) and hoping that this will resolve the issue; alas, same results. You can browse the files using a map drive, that is assuming you are using a PC or laptop to access the box and all files / folders are visible. But when you use your capable DLNA equipment (i.e. PS3, Xbox360, Media Extender or any media player, etc.) this is you start noticing that files are incomplete within the folder or folders are not visible.

If you are going to use the box for backup and/or storage, there are cheaper solution out there other than Smartsor NS4300N. Don't waste your money and time like I did! I can not wait to get rid of this box as soon as I can afford to get a replacement!!!』

(Not really the best value.. Hidden shortfalls that the matketing stuff doesn't tell you....)
『This unit is nice to look at, but under the hood, it falls short. I will be returning mine as soon as I migrate the data off of it.

The Synology CubeStation CS407e is only a little over $50 more, and has LOTS more features, is QUIET, and has a UI that has had much more thought put into it. Be sure to look at them both before you buy..

Top 10 issues I have with the SmartStor:

1. It is more noisy than my computer! That's a show stopper right there.

2. No local (web based) file managment. If you need to move large chunks of data from one share to another (see item 3), you have to move it all over the network and then back again into the share you want.

3. Cannot rename shared folders. This is just an unacceptable missing item that is a repeating theme in my opnion.

4. Documentation covers only the most obvious things. No documention on the plug-in's except the most rudementary and obvious things. No documention on finer points of how they implement RAID and RAID recovery.

5. If you add a 1TB drive to a RAID array of 3 750GB drives, you just lose that extra 250Gig of space. That disk capacity should be available for other volumes...

6. Rebuilding a 750GB RAID 5 Volume took well over 24 hours..

7. Extending a RAID 5 volume to add a foruth (1TB) drive is even worse. Mine has been going for three days now and is only about 65% done.

8. Some documentation says it works with XBOX 360, other documents say it's not suported and will be supported in FR4 of the firmware, which it says is to be released in August. It's mid October, still not there.. At best, they are not keeping their documentation straight. I could not get my 360 to see it, with all the updates applied.

9. FTP sever drops a logged in user at the volume level instead of the share level. If you have more than one volume, you have to hunt for the volume that has the share with the files you want. Another tpyical lack of attention to detail.

10. FTP is not configurable to use SSL or other security, and uses real accounts. So you have to pass access information to your data over the net in clear text. Completly unsafe to use in real life this way.

11. Bonus problem: If the NAS loses it's connection to the LAN in any way... Say you restart the switch, re-route the cable, whatever. Ypu are done. The unit becomes completely unresponsive and you have to shut it down via the power switch to get acceess to your data again.

(Works fine for a home NAS)
『Like the Buffalo TeraStation, this NAS makes it very easy to set up a RAID-1 or RAID-5 array. Unlike a Buffalo TeraStation, this NAS natively supports NFS and AFP, both of which I use on my home network. The NS4300N supports RAID-10, but I could not select it through the web based configuration utility (it may be available through the Windows configuration application which you have to download yourself from their website, or it may be available if you delete the basic array it creates on initial startup and start from scratch). The Promise website has several plugins available for the SmartStor: an iTunes server plugin, a DLNA media server, and a BitTorrent/Donkey torrent client. All three of the plugins work as advertised for me. My XBox running XBox Media Center sees the music, photos, and videos stored on the NAS through UPNP when the DLNA plugin is running. My PC and Mac also see the music through iTunes when the iTunes plugin is running. I can connect to the BT plugin using Sancho and monitor p2p activity.

The unit comes with no drives, so I added four 400GB SATA drives in a RAID-5 array. I stuck to drives listed as certified on the Promise website, but that is probably not required. Promise states that the unit has two USB connectors (which it does) but you can only add one external USB drive and it must have the share name USBDISK.

Overall I am happy with the unit. It replaced a Linux box I had running as a RAID-5 file server without having to do any installation or configuration. I gave it only 4 stars since the documentation is pretty poor and you have to figure things out yourself. But once you figure it out, it does do what they say it will do (although I can't vouch for its ability to do RAID-10).』

(Good Value for the Price Point)
『For the money, this unit does a good job. With a gigabit connection, image backs are now quite practical over the network, and daily backups of critical directories like My Documents can be automatically scheduled so they are painless. And I have found any amount of pain will eventually cause you to stop taking regular backups. My unit is fairly quiet, although to be fair I have it in a computer room that already has a pretty high noise level. I also appreciate the plugin software apps for Bit Torrent and Media Server. On the negative side, the firmware and support software must be upgraded from the support site before it all works reliably. The driver carriers are somewhat flimsy, I think a better solution would be carrier-less drive bays, but I understand that is found only on much more expensive NAS, at least so far. All in all I am very happy with this unit and I plan to buy another when I fill this one.』

(Excellent Home NAS)
『As stated in other reviews I too created a RAID 5 array. However I chose low RPM 750 GB drives to limit heat, noise, and the need for the fans to blow harder. I also turned the NAS on it's right side instead of standing it the way it is designed. This allows the drive cooling fan to cool all drives evenly and prevents heat buildup in the higher level drives.

I chose to do this because many server vendors turn drives on the side to improve heat dissipation. Between the drive choice and the vertical install my device is very quite. The temp inside the case never exceeds 39 Celsius so the fans do not have to blow hard to cool the drives.

As of this writing I have been using the NAS for 4 months. I did have some firmware issues trying to setup the DLNA services but the Promise.com website offered a v1.03 of the firmware and that fixed my issues.

Now I can access my videos, music, pictures, etc. from any PC in the house including the PS3 (yes the DLNA server is recognized by the Playstation 3, though it does not like movies, you can play videos).

I also plugged the monitor cable from a APC 750 UPS into one of the USB ports on the NAS. When the UPS reaches the 50% power threshold the NAS will shutdown (no it does not restart automatically). In the other USB port I connected a 120 GB external drive for file transfers. This works but it is S L O W.

Overall this is a good device. The DLNA and UPNP servers built into this device made it the ideal choice for me. I do not have to leave a PC running with an external drive and all sorts of software crud to listen to my music etc. any where in the house.

I give the device 90 out of 100 and would choose 4.5 stars if Amazon would let me.

『An outstanding catalog from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, beautiful photos and editing by Morihiro Ogawa.』

Samurai arms and equipment are widely recognized as masterpieces in steel, silk, and lacquer. This extensively illustrated volume is published in conjunction with the first comprehensive exhibition devoted to the arts of the samurai. It includes the finest examples of swords—the spirit of the samurai—as well as sword mountings and fittings, armor and helmets, saddles, banners, and paintings. The objects in the catalogue, drawn entirely from public and private collections in Japan, feature more than 100 officially designated national treasures and important cultural properties. Dating from the 5th to the 19th century, these majestic works offer a complete picture of samurai culture and its unique blend of the martial and the refined.

Many of the greatest Japanese blade makers are represented in this volume, from the earliestkoto("old sword") masters such as Yasuie (12th century) and Tomomitsu (14th century) to the Edo-period smiths Nagasone Kotetsu and Kiyomaro. These blades, cherished as much for their beauty as for their cutting effectiveness, were equipped with elaborate hilts and scabbards prized for their exquisite craftsmanship and materials, including silk, rayskin, gold, lacquer, and alloys unique to Japan, such asshakudoandshibuichi. Japanese armor is also fully surveyed, from the rarest iron armor of the Kofun period (5th century) to the inventive ceremonial helmets made toward the end of the age of the samurai.

『This is by far the worst book I have ever tried to read. The author starts from a good argument and then gets lost in interpreting any fact as an evidence in favor of his point of view, even when there would be thousands of more plausible explanations. I apologize for not being specific, but I think I had already lost too much of my time and patience trying to read this thing. However, if you are the kind of reader who likes UFOs and conspirations stories, go ahead, maybe you will enjoy this book.』

(Too much here for critics to blithely dismiss)
『Menzies advances a startling and truly earth shattering proposition: that not only did the Chinese discover America before Columbus, but they discovered the rest of the world - Antarctica, Australia - charted it, sailed to or near the poles, and figured out longitude. And they not only brought Chinese artifacts, animals and plants to the New World, they brought American ones back to Southeast Asia and China itself.

Menzies isn't the only person working on this, and apparently the field has gotten a lot bolder the last few years, with a number of scholars, particularly but not only Chinese ones, marshalling the evidence.

It's a huge undertaking, the rewriting of world history, and it properly should take a while. Any page in this book might properly occupy a scholar for a year in nailing down the facts, verifying the information, and mulling it through in light of the huge chain of events that Menzies proposes.

He's not starting from a blank slate: the Zheng He voyages and Chinese technological prowess of the time are historical fact, as is China's xenophobic reaction destroying all traces of them a few years later. The debate is where Zheng He's enormous fleet went, why and what they left behind. Menzies puts the ball squarely in the critics' court; he has given too much evidence to have it blithely dismissed.

Menzies himself says his book would properly have been several times as long if he'd written in the accepted scholarly fashion, and you can see that's true. Often you want more underpinnings of everything he says. Is this fact true? Is it accepted? Who accepts it? Who doesn't, and why?

But he can't be found guilty of facile treatment of all this. His work on the map and navigation side of this - his strong suit as a former mariner who navigated by the stars in the days before GPS - is truly stunning. He reasons through the anomalies on old European maps - ones apparently showing the Americas, the Cape of Good Hope, the coast of Africa or the Caribbean islands before Europeans arrived at these places, or could have mapped them in such detail. And projecting the Chinese fleet's reach to so many places, including up rivers deep into continents' hearts, he goes about searching for evidence of their presence, and finds a lot of it. Much of it remains to be better examined than he could here; actually, the amount of information and worldwide sweep of this is remarkable as it is.

This turns out notion of the world's history upside down. He suggests the Chinese are ethnic ancestors of various Indian tribes and helped spread flora and fauna around the world. He suggests Magellan and Columbus knew where they were going because they were following Chinese-derived maps. But Menzies' work is interesting in yet another, ultramodern way. This book's ongoing work is being done on the Internet, as thousands of emails solicited by Menzies asking for useful information have poured in. Much of it won't pan out, but some probably will.

If this theory becomes accepted fact, historians may have to answer for why so many unusual facts went so unexamined for so long. Reports of Chinese people and Chinese settlements in the Americas, the presence of Chinese-speaking Indians, remains and other evidence of horses - who died out here 10,000 years ago but then were found here by the Europeans - and unusual ruins that couldn't be attributed to native populations, like the Bimini Road or the Round Tower in Newport, R.I. Were historians asleep at the wheel?

I do dread the use of this in the PC wars as yet another tool with which to bash dead European white males, but no matter. If it's the truth, so be it. And the dead European white males put a lot on the line to rediscover a world that the Chinese, if they discovered it in fact, then turned their backs on.

Really, though, this all ought to be the subject of years of examination before people come down on one side of it or the other. Some of the shipwrecks Menzies mentions ought to be more heavily examined. Botanists and zoologists need to weigh in on his observations about plants and animals found, early, on the wrong side of oceans. Historians expert in one or another aspect of pre-Columbian history, as well as the Age of Exploration and Chinese history, ought to give this some serious thought. They will attack this, as they should, but they shouldn't reject it out of hand.

(Fantasy masquerading as history)
『Though I had heard this book was "controversial", I hadn't researched any feedback prior to deciding to buy it 1/2 price at a large bookstore using a coupon. Boy, do I wish I had read the reviews here (or elsewhere) first before wasting my $7. While the author proposes what he thinks might be a new theory of where the Chinese fleets of 1421-1423 could have traveled, and starts out making some partially plausible arguments regarding prevailing ocean currents/winds and how the design of the large Chinese ships of the early 15th century likely forced them to basically follow the prevailing winds/currents, the discourse deteriorates rapidly once the reader reaches the 150 page mark (or thereabouts).

Thereafter, the author, lacking any evidence whatsoever, proposes all sorts of nonsensical "revelations" and "findings" regarding where the Chinese "must" have visited during that 2 year span. At first, he mentions that these visits "could have" happened, then proceeds to claim that he has "proved" that the visits occurred, despite lacking ANY evidence whatsoever!! He then goes on write in a manner that implies that the reader should accept that these fantasmical adventures actually occurred, and that he, the supposedly amazingly insightful author, is responsible for exposing these new "facts".

That these new "facts" are nothing more than products of the author's imagination gone wild doesn't deter his fabricating one bit. He expects us to unquestioningly believe all of his nonsensical fantasizing: Yes, the Chinese CERTAINLY must have passed through the straights of Magellan during that time... Yes, European explorers DID find wrecks of Chinese junks along the Patagonian coast.... And on and on... no sources for these supposed "facts" are cited. No physical evidence is presented. In fact, this is far worse than the very common error of researchers (and the public in general) confusing correlation with causation - this is nothing but complete fantasy/delusion.

The publishers of this "history" book should recall every single copy of this rubbish, issue a public apology for categorizing this as a History book, and refund every purchaser's money in full. DO NOT waste your money on this book. It is not history or science or archaeology or anything even remotely resembling fact-based research. It is pure and utter nonsense.』

(1421)
『I bought this book to add to my library. It makes new claim and is controversial.』

On March 8, 1421, the largest fleet the world had ever seen set sail from China to "proceed all the way to the ends of the earth to collect tribute from the barbarians beyond the seas." When the fleet returned home in October 1423, the emperor had fallen, leaving China in political and economic chaos. The great ships were left to rot at their moorings and the records of their journeys were destroyed. Lost in the long, self-imposed isolation that followed was the knowledge that Chinese ships had reached America seventy years before Columbus and had circumnavigated the globe a century before Magellan. And they colonized America before the Europeans, transplanting the principal economic crops that have since fed and clothed the world.

(Easy To Read But Lacking Nuance and Detail)
『I am really of two minds when it comes to this book. I did find it to be an easy, pleasant read. I also learned the broad outlines of an aspect of Western history that I previously knew little about. But Brownworth's pop approach does contain numerous factual errors and a serious lack of detail and objectivity.

His emphasis is on military history and emperors appear to be mostly judged on the basis of how much territory they gained or lost. There is also a great deal of hyperbole used, with one emperor being judged incredibly strong and brillant while the next is weak, worthless and incompetent. In other words there isn't much middle ground in terms of Brownworth's assessments. He also tends to present the Byzantines as always the "good guys" fighting the "bad guy" Normans, Arabs, Bulgarians, Turks, etc. History has more nuance than this. But it seems like Brownworth doesn't want complexity to get in the way of a good story.

For those who want an accessible introduction to the Byzantine Empire this still might be a good choice. But if you want to dig deeper you should seek out a book with more academic credibility.』

(A very good history from a very good storyteller...)
『To read a well told history of Byzantium is to weep with despair. In no other history are mortal arrogance, incompetence and greed interwoven so prevalently with imperial triumph, grandeur and civilization. Byzantine warp and weft gave us the threads we still wear to clothe our laws, religions and cultures. Through Byzantium came our knowledge of ancient Greece and Rome and the pillars of our western civilization.

It must be difficult to condense the history of an eleven-hundred-year empire to a mere 300 pages. Yet Lars Brownworth is able to present this history in its entirety, beginning it with the century before Constantine founded (and named) his capitol at Constantinople in 330, and ending it with the capture of that city by the Turks in 1453. He does so admirably.

Some Byzantine histories, in as few pages, focus on selected epochs or dynasties while more comprehensive ones comprise volumes. But Brownworth leaves little out of this history, giving good account of the empire's dynasties and usurpations, its religious orthodoxy and institutions, its victories and apogees, and its menacing enemies and their invasive conquests. He gives substantial accounts of the deteriorating, political relationships with the West and its Latin Church and of the rise of religious fervor in the East. Brownworth does not compromise his narrative with false obeisance to academia's penchant for shallow, political correctness when he describes the destructive barbarism of the Christian crusaders or the slaughtering mayhem of the Islamic sword. He edits with a sharp mind.

Brownworth writes with the panache of a popularizer and the precision of a specialist. He entertains as he informs: anecdotal footnotes read like whispered asides; and the book's narrative pulses with the rhythmic timing of a stage master. His selected bibliography offers first-rate material for the interested reader. This book gives an excellent introduction to Byzantine history, and it serves as a refreshing counterpart to accounts from other sources. Mr. Brownworth knows his subject, and Lost to the West is an enjoyable read.』

(Excellent Overview of Byzantium)
『There are two approaches to presenting history: 1. an overview of the highlights and 2. Details both minor and major. A corollary is that no matter which one of these two approaches an author chooses, someone will criticize it. The author has chosen the highlights approach and should be evaluated on this basis. The book is a highly entertaining summary of the highlights of the Byzantine Empire. It is very well written and the style maintains readers interest, which makes it an outstanding read for someone not familiar with Byzantium. The big advantage of a well written summary is that it makes available to a larger audience information that they would not necessarily try to obtain.

Of course, those who prefer the details will complain but there already exists outstanding volumes that do cover all the details. I would recommend Norwich's trilogy.

There is a place for both types of books. Lost to the West has its place and audience. I highly recommend it for what it is: an outstanding summary that is engaging.

(Excellent Compact History of the Eastern Roman Empire: Byzantine Empire)
『Brownworth provides a highly readable and compact history of the surviving eastern portion of the Roman Empire known as the Byzantine Empire, which outlived its western half by almost 800 years. The author describes the political intrigues initially between the split rulerships as well as the political situations particularly within Constantinople. In a compact study such as this, Brownworth writes very economically while providing the reader a basic introduction to the various rulers, generals and their roles in expansion and protection of their territory. Unfortunately, more detail would be appreciated for the more dominant figures such as Constantine, particular considering the great contributions he made to the empire and being virtually the first in the European continent to accept the Christian religion. However, that is the loss within an abridged history but, the value is that Brownworth provides the highlights quite well and the reader may become more interested in a particular subject and become motivated to read more detailed studies. The writing is never stuffy and a reader less inclined to read a scholars thesis on the subject will find the writing comfortable and in turn interesting. There is also a touch of humor, an example is the description of the great general Belisarius in his battle of the Persians the author notes his enthusiasm for battle by stating, "There was nothing like a little pillage to raise the spirits and bring the Persian king scampering home."』

(Great intro to the Byzantine Empire)
『I went into this book knowing nothing about the Byzantine empire. This book served as a fascinating introduction to that subject. The author does an amazing job of making the history interesting, this book is certainly not your typical dry history book. I found particularly interesting how the Cyrillic alphabet came about, and the roots of the religious splits that exist today. How the empire shaped the church was also quite interesting. This book does cover a lot of ground, so don't expect any great deal of depth on any one subject, as a survey it works great!』

(My two cents worth)
『I got this machine in the mail last week. My previous Mr. Coffee steam driven espresso maker died after about six months use. I decided to get a better machine since the less expensive steam driven units use aluminum for boiler construction. I took apart the Mr. Coffee and I could see that there was a little corrosion in the bottom of the boiler, meaning that I am drinking aluminum tainted coffee. No thanks.

Now, back to the Delonghi. The first few days that I used it, I hated it. I was going to send it back, but didn't get around to it right away. The coffee was anemic and the steamer didn't quite cut it. I make two mugs of cappuccino in the morning, and had to keep closing the steam knob and wait for the OK light to go back on. I learned to just keep the steam on and to open the knob more than the 1/4 turn that is recommended. It steams the milk just fine that way. I also didn't like having to dump the grounds and refill the filter basket in order to get a full carafe of strong espresso. ( I have switched to a french roast and espresso beans and use bottled flavoring. That seems to make the best coffee if I want flavored coffee). I do like the fact that I can make a mug of decaf for my wife, and then a cup of leaded for myself in short order. It just took some experimentation to get it right, since the instructions don't cover the nuances of the machine. I am really glad that I gave the Delonghi a chance. Every time I use it, I like it more. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that the filter basket really should be a little larger. Then I could make enough espresso for two mugs of cappuccino without having to refill the basket. The steamer is also a tad too low to be able to steam milk in any decent sized container. I like to use the mug that I drink the coffee from, and it just doesn't fit. I can tilt the mug to get it under the nozzle, but can't do that once the milk is frothed without spilling some of it. The machine has to be lifted a little to get the mug out. But I can live with that. I would definitely recommend this espresso maker. It works great once you get the hang of it.』

(DeLonghi machines are great)
『I love this machine. In fact, I needed a second machine for my office so I bought a second one exactly the same. It's a great price and it makes a good coffee. After reading some of the other reviews I do have to admit that maybe the foamed milk isn't really piping hot.』

(Great Value!!!)
『This is a great machine for the price. Produces a nice espresso and the frother works great. Super easy to use and keep clean.』

(Great machine Great price)
『I have had this machine for about 2 months and am very happy with the mochas I can make at home. The espresso has that beautiful crema consistency, and the steamer for the milk produces great foam. I find the machine easy to use and clean. I am able to make mochas equivalent to the best coffee bars. This is a great machine and a great value.』

(The one to buy!!!)
『Like many of you, I pored over the Amazon customer reviews of many espresso makers before making my purchase. I was replacing a cheap Mr. Coffee device that was a lemon. I have been making espresso and cappuccino for many years using the department store-grade articles that come with a four (espresso)-cup carafe and controls consisting of an on-off switch and a steam valve and I was very satisfied with the flavor of the product. However, I was never able to reproduce the lovely crema of the espresso I enjoyed in Italy or of our better baristas in the U.S. but that was just an aesthetic compromise. Other customers' comments encouraged me to consider a pump-driven espresso maker, so I took a chance with this one: it seemed to be in the middle of the price range and most customers were pleased with the results they got, although some unhappy folks obviously bought defective devices and were dissatisfied with DeLonghi's customer service. For me, so far, so good and I am delighted with the results. Although making espresso with the DeLonghi requires a bit more attention than the less expensive basic models I'd grown used to, it is a minor compromise. This machine makes superb and beautiful espresso. Because the water is drawn from a 35-oz. reservoir, you cannot just wait until all the water you've poured into the machine runs through (like you can with the machines that hold only a cup of water in their reservoir) but you have to stand by to shut off the water flowing through the grounds when you've made enough. Therefore, you can make your espresso as strong or as weak (that defies logic!) as you prefer. Don't worry; your "wait" will amount to less than a minute.
The controls are simple, yet efficient. The silver knob on the front has four positions, left to right: preheating water for steam - off - preheating water for coffee - water flowing through the coffee. A red light indicates that the heating element is energized. A green light indicates that the water has reached its desired temperature for steaming or coffee, depending on the mode you've selected. The valve/knob on the top of the machine regulates the flow of steam through the nozzle to froth your milk.
The milk frothing nozzle is superior to any I have ever used. The frothing starts almost immediately and is a very efficient process. When the milk is frothed, click the control knob over two positions and you will probably find that the water temperature is ready to make coffee immediately. Less than a minute later, you're done.
The DeLonghi does not come with a milk frothing pitcher. It does have an attached grounds-tamper which is a convenient perk. My only complaint is that when making espresso, a few drops of water tend to drip out of the milk frothing nozzle, as if there is minor leak-by the valve. Also, before frothing milk, I drain the steam line into a separate cup to purge a teaspoon to a tablespoon of water from the line before the steam is expressed.
I am delighted with this DeLonghi Espresso Maker and recommend it highly.』

『DeLonghi is proud to present this unique and popular BAR32 Retro Pump-Driven 35 ounce Espresso Maker. Just a few of it's features include pump driven, makes coffee in mug-size or smaller cup-sizes, brews standard or with pods. With ESE (Easy Serving Expresso) espresso making has never been easier. The Sempre Crema filter produces a rich, creamy froth and the swivel jet frother makes frothy milk for cappuccino, latte and other beverages. The easy cleaning 35 ounce water tank is removable and fills easily right at the faucet. This model features an exclusive anti-drip design』
