『My kids eat a lot of pizza. So instead of heating up my oven several times a week I thought I would try a pizza maker. After reading several reviews the Presto Pizzazz had almost perfect ratings. I ordered one and I had it shipped to my job. A co-worker seen it and since he was having the same problem with his kids he went and brought two frozen pizza's to try and see if he wanted one for his kids. We cooked one and all my co-worker's that were around tasted the pizza and thought it was the best frozen pizza they had ever had. The crust was so crisp, and the topping's were hot and bubbly. Now I am placing about five orders for them.

We had one prior to this and it was made a little sturdier. It lasted for about 10 years. There is no reset button on the new model, and the timer is plastic, but it works. 『Terrific appliance, but I agree about the leg screws loosening too frequently. To counter this, I installed some lock washers. It helps considerably, but they still work loose after several uses. Beats every time you get it out though. Want to give it try yourself, here's what to do (for you mechanics in the audience pardon the oversimplification). You need four (4) @ brass or stainless steel (so they won't rust) lock + flat washers. Also, be sure to get the kind of lock washer that has the teeth on the INSIDE because there isn't much play around the screw holes. I think the size is 10/24, but take along one of the screws (in a baggie so it won't get lost) to a real hardware store that has the rows of boxes with all the little doo-dads in them. Not likely to be had at a Home Depot or Lowe's plus you'd waste valuable shoe leather. Ask one of the folks hanging around the front counter for help or else - while you may find wonderful things you didn't know existed - you can spend a lot of time rummaging thru all those tiny boxes. Also, be sure to check each washer (should be 8 total) against the leg screw since not everyone is as careful as you to get things back in the correct slot. The heads of the leg screws are slotted to accept either kind of screwdriver, flat or Phillips, but you will need a small size. Consider this during your hardware store experience if you don't already own one. When installing the washers, the flat one goes in first, right against the plastic, then the toothed washer, then the screw. Be careful to start the screw in straight so as not to strip out the threads in the plastic. If after just one or two revolutions, the screw starts to get harder to turn, its maybe not going in straight. Back it out and try again. If you've turned it several times and the screwdriver then encounters resistance STOP, again to avoid that stripping thing. Then carefully tighten just a smidgen more, like 1/8 turn. Or as they say in the trade, Do Not Overtightened. Repeat four times and that's it. I considered using Loc Tite but the diameter is smaller than spec. At 7 or 8 bucks for a tiny can I didn't want to see if it worked outside prescribed limits. Maybe some of you mechanics can give it a try and report back to the less adventurous among us. One could epoxy the dad gum things in, but if the leg assembly needed replacement, your screwed. Ouch.』

one caveat however....like all other electric skillets i've had the handles tend to come loose on a regular basis. this is quickly remedied with a quick twist of a screwdriver.

『The Presto electric skillet works great. The only improvement that I can suggest is that rubber feet be made into the black handles where they touch the counter that the skillet sits on. I set the skillet on a towel to keep it from sliding around on the kitchen counter, but I would rather have somthing made into the skillet to keep it stable on the counter when cooking with it.』

『I have this fry pan and I use it constantly for so many things.Probably use it for 4/7 dinners plus makes a great breakfast pan.The only reason I give it a 4 is because the teflon coating wears off making it more difficult to clean and food sticks. Am asking for an identical one for Christmas and will probably put this in the camping box to take.Even used the fry pan to make corn on the cob.This was only pan we took for a short camping trip and worked out awesome.Never will I be without this frying pan. Is a very versatile n useful gadget. Good luck』

This DVD is recorded live on stage in front of an audience.
I love these performances, occasionally I may want to shake the camera man, but simply not that often. Before I offer my opinion I must say all these dancers are very accomplished and I mean no disrespect to any of them. As I said, this is simply my opinion of a fantastic DVD.

Urban Tribal performed two pieces. I find their choreographies very sophisticated, their interpretation of the music convincing and the interplay between the members of what is quite a large troupe quite inspiring. All the dancers seem very skilled and controlled, like moving sculptures. Their costumes are very plain and perhaps not totally to my taste but they reflect their style which follows elongated clean lines and seems to have more in common with modern dance than with belly dance.

Sharon Kihara dances two solos. The first failed to wow me. Her movements seemed to have a cursory connection with the music. Her second solo had strongly chopped music with dramatic accents and changes which suited her big moves. Sharon wears a crazy ugly costume which appears to be a bra made from plastic skulls and a stiff chained leather half skirt. Yet somehow it all suited her style and I was captivated despite myself.

Zoe Jakes and Elizabeth Strong perform a duo which simply has the wow factor. Great moves which fit with the style of music. This dance has dramatic changes in pace, a strong relationship between the dancers and real understanding of the music, all of which make this piece really dynamic.

Moria's first performance was to a great piece of music with play between classical music, Turkish Rom 9/8 and 4/4 drums. I love this piece of music. However I was disappointed. Moria's performance seems frenetic and her costume wild but somehow I wasn't convinced she really understood the music or that even her costume really reflected all the music had to offer. Her second performance also had a pretty wild costume, but it didn't really flatter the dance moves. I still believe costumes should emphasize rather than conceal dance moves, a hip shimmy is lost when all the moment is seen in the ruffles at your feet. Again I wasn't convinced by her connection to the music, but she did end the piece very well.

Kami Liddle was elegant, her costume reflected this and her moves were lovely in response to changes in the music. Her second piece of music was more monotonous, more like dance floor music and didn't show her skills as a dancer to as much advantage as the first piece.

Fat Chance performed two pieces. I enjoyed the first more then the second but I have seen much more dynamic performances from them. Carolena performs her trademark tummy rolls and flutters, but this was one of the places where I started to resent the person behind the camera as it focused any where but her stomach.

Samantha is rapidly becoming one of my favourite dancers. She really seems to know her rhythms. Her first dance is to a fusion 9/8 Rom. Samantha's understanding of the music allows her to successfully marry Rom style gestures with hip hop fusion. Her second piece was performed to a rather inaccessible piece of music in a rather tricky costume with a trailing tail. Her skill made the music more accessible to the audience and she used her trailing skirt elegantly and to great advantage. Yummy.

Elizabeth Strong performed in a duo mentioned earlier and also in two solos. Her classical sword piece showed her beautiful fluid and curves postures to great advantage. Her style is softer then many of the other dancers. She seems infinitely flexible and performs back bends as huge graceful arcs. This piece was simply gorgeous. Her second piece was also lovely, but not quite as gripping, her soft seemingly effortless moves didn't seem to quite gel with the music.

Zoe Jakes performed a duo mentioned earlier and two solos. Definitely a "Wow" sort of performer. Her dance style is certainly a few steps away from Belly dance but her dynamic expression and musical interpretation makes me not care a jot. Two great choices of music, great costumes and clever use of quiet and busy, fast and slow to keep the audience riveted. Not many dancers could get away moves which make you look like a hunched, hanging marionette!

Sharon, Moria, Samantha, Zoe and Kami perform together under the name Tribal Superstars. This is a lovely dance but the solos and duos are so innovative that in comparison this piece could have used some of the passion put into the other performances. A really lovely dance but hardly innovative. These women are all so talented they could have really put something together that wowed.

Sonia and Colleen perform another wonderful duo, Colleen in tribal dress and stylization and Sonia in Oriental. Great choice of music, plenty of changes to grip the audience and these changes were made the most of. I loved the contrast in styles sometimes dramatic, sometimes subtle and sometimes the same. Performed beautifully by both dancers.

Gosh what a long review, I hope it helps you decide whether to purchase it or not.

『In 1982, it seemed as if the new supergroup Asia would be the great white hope of AOR fans. Most of the 70's supergroups had either disbanded or faded into obscurity, and Asia looked to be the heirs of the format and the band that would continue the glories of FM rock into the 80's. Alas, after this first LP, Asia descended into mediocrity, turning out many more albums, none of which equalled this outstanding debut. This record is a document of What Might Have Been, simply put. Well worth owning, and a fitting coda to the great rock albums of the 70's.』

(Classic rock that was left behind)
『This album had the leading edge for Asia, and brought the haunting vocals, and electric edged rock to the public. The downside is that in spite of huge talent Asia could not put together a great album. The band was destined to cast about scattered songs that showed their rock soul, left the fans wanting. This is exactly how I felt listening to this album again......wanting more. The popular "Here Comes That Feeling" was a stamp of good things to come , but Asia failed to deliver, on this album, and those to come. I felt the same let down I felt when the album first came out, not enough. Bottom line skip this album, and buy the greatest hit CD, and be done. Asia was a great band that never was, and we all knew that then, and will relive that when we fire up Asia now』

『While MTV was busy destroying music and making it go too commercial there was little hope left for great music. Only few groups like Rush and The Alan Parsons Project were not declining greatly from the prog rock genre.
This was one of my favorite albums then and now from the 80's. The talent is incredible from this supergroup. Though I like them all better in Yes, King Crimson, and Emerson Lake and Palmer they were one of the best things to happen to music in the 80's. Only Time Will Tell is a classic as well as just about everything else on this album which I mostly listen from start to finish!』

("One of the 25 greatest albums ever made")
『Asia was formed following the dissolution of the progressive rock bands Yes, U.K., and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
Steve Howe (guitar) had come from Yes, bringing Geoff Downes (keyboards) with him.
John Wetton (bass / vocals) had tenured with U.K., and previously King Crimson, while Carl Palmer (drums) was 1/3 of E.L.P.

The quartet set out to make an album that drew from their progressive backgrounds, but with shorter song-oriented material.
What they came up with was no less than captured lightning...


The Tracks:

"Heat of the Moment" was not only the album opener, but was the album's hit single.
Steve's power chords open the song, followed by the intro of John's vocal, Carl's "Phil Spector-ish" bass drum and popped snare. The catchy chorus and second verse give way to a minor- chorded middle, featuring Geoff's keys and Steve on the Koto,giving it a far east feel. Another verse and chorus set the stage for Steve's solo which goes into the fade. This song prompted the phrase "progressive pop".

"Only Time Will Tell" is all about Geoff's keys.
The vocal is sharp, the harmonies well-blocked, and Geoff's keyboards bold and brassy.

"Sole Survivor" is ballsy, with Steve's wah-wah pedal and Carl's drums dominant.

"One Step Closer" is a vocal duet between John&Steve, and is nicely offset by Geoff's orchestral stabs and Steve's "country rock" guitar breaks.

"Time Again" is quite simply, Asia's finest moment. The song is credited to the group, and with good reason. It's an amazing performance. Hearing is believing.

"Wildest Dreams" is the closest thing the group did to a classic prog-rock piece. Steve's solo goes from one end of his Gibson ES-Artist to the other at very high speed, and Carl's drum solo is jaw-dropping.

"Without You" is the requisite power ballad, but some key&tempo changes keep it interesting.

"Cutting it Fine" acts lie a straight rock number, until the coda (known as Geoff's bolero), which is a keyboard tour-de-force.

"Here Comes The Feeling" is a straight rock and roll pot boiler that's more interesting in the middle and Steve plays a cool solo and a funky rhythm part.

John's lead vocals are strong throughout, and the band is incredibly tight.
Given all their backgrounds, one would expect no less. A must-own.』

『I saw this movie in the theaters when it first came out. I'm a huge fan of Lilly Taylor who gives a great performance, along with the other actresses. This has to be the most realistic portrayal of date rape during adolescence I have ever seen. Unlike a lot of movies that sensationalize rape to the point of bordering on soft porn, this movie skips the graphic details and gets straight to the business of empowering its female characters. Warning: this movie is dangerous to the dominate power structure, which is probably why you can't rent it at Blockbuster...』

I have three cordless drills that I'm constantly using, all equipped with either Craftsman or Ryobi quick change couplers. The drills in this set only fit the coupler that comes with the set. If you try to use them in the other brands, the drills fall out.
It's nice to have the quick change ability when working with these drills and drivers, and if you don't already have one of these sets it works great.』

『I have used these electrical adapters in a country (South Korea) which uses the 220v as the AC standard. These worked perfectly when I used the USA standard 120v plugs (two thin "l" shaped prongs).

No adapter, including this one, will convert electricity (electric converters will). That means if your electrical machine can't handle the native AC voltage, you should NOT use these adapters. You can check the range of electrical voltage your electrical machine can handle by checking its voltage range typically written somewhere on the device. Most consumer electronic devices can handle from 110v to 240v and that covers the voltage range of practically every nation on earth. In summary, chances are very good that your consumer electronic device will work with the AC voltage of the country you are residing. But you probably would want to check the device.

Please note, these should be used in countries that use 220v-240v (most of Europe). Not all countries use the two rounded prongs of this adapter. The input of this adapter can handle all forms of plugs, including the US 120v (both 2 and 3 prongs).

If you plan to travel to different parts of the world, then I recommend you purchase variable AC adapter plugs which can handle different voltage and plug types. They cost more, but they are worth the money. But if you need an AC adapter specifically for countries that use AC 220v-240v, then these should meet your needs nicely.

My only issue with these is they are little big (but not too big) and can sometimes be cumbersome. So they get 4 stars.』

If youre looking for a movie with good dialogue, a plot, and a good ending, then this movie is not for you. Basically i have no idea why anyone would want to watch this movie because it lacked just about everything a movie should have. This movie does not give credit to Marie Antoinettes life or legacy.

Of course Amazon was amazing at the delivery time and the product pruchased was just as described.』

『For quite some time, this movie has been on my to-view list. So when I was perusing the library, I checked it out. And then my sister and I watched it. And then I found out why I hadn't viewed it earlier.
The plot (well, what there is of a plot) can be summed up in one sentence: See Marie Antoinette live extravagantly. Marie Antoinette marries into the French Court, goes to Versailles, spends lots of money, and basically lounges around.
Before I swing the axe on this film, let me detail some of the highlights. Beautiful scenery and costumes. I found out it won an Academy Award for costume design, and I believe it was well-earned. The costumes looked accurate (my sister is taking art history and, for the most part, found the film to be fairly accurate in this regard) and appropriate for the time period. The surroundings were, I found out, actually filmed in Versailles. Kudos to whomever was able to procure that, as it looks very gorgeous and realistic.
But other than eye candy, there really isn't anything to this movie. Kirsten Dunst does a so-so performance as the doomed Austrian queen of France. One thing is certain: while she may not look the part of a 18th century French royalty, she can play vacuous well. But then all she had to really do to sell that part is throw dice, try on shoes, sip champagne, or eat pastries. Jason Schwartzmann was very amusing as her husband, and I felt he did okay, but, when he isn't given much to act with (other than riding away or falling asleep), you can't quite get a feeling. Most of the actors (Asia Argento, Rose Byrne, Rip Torn, the woman who played Marie's mother) were okay...but there was so little script, it was hard to hail their performances as anything extraordinary.
A brief glance at Wikipedia showed that the historical accuracy was moderately high for a Hollywood film, but I bemoan the loss of the French Revolution. Where are the political machinations? Where are the destitute people in the streets? Why wasn't more mention made of Marie's village or her increasing interest in politics or on how much money she spent? These are very important parts to Marie's life; parts that are glaringly missing.
And the ending! I might have given this 3 stars, but the conclusion, the blankess you are left with...horrible! No idea is given what happens to Marie Antoinette after leaving Versailles...only an empty palace bedroom. How can you call this a story of Marie Antoinette when you only see a few sparse years of her life, during which all she does is gamble and shop? If you aren't going to end with her on the guillotine, at least give us some idea as to her fate!
Overall, I am not impressed. I do credit the film with generating in me an interest in the real Marie Antoinette's life, but other than that and some pretty surroundings and costumes, there really isn't anything to this film. View only if you're in the mood for some petit fours and be prepared for an upset stomach afterwards.

There was one true thing about this film: Inherited privilege comes to no good. It is true with royal families, and it is true, also, with Hollywood.』

『"Marie Antoinette" is the name of a film made in 1938 by the great W.S. Van Dyke (Director), the wonderful Norma Shearer (Marie Antoinette), the brilliant Robert Morley (Louis XVI), the talented Tyrone Power, the inimitable John Barrymore, the imposing Joseph Schildkraut, and others whose names will be forever enshrined in film history for this and other grand achievements.

"Marie Antoinette" is also the name of a film made in 2006 by the uncoordinated Sofia Coppola (Director), the ditzy Kirsten Dunst (Marie Antoinette), the ineffectual Jason Schwarzman (Louis XVI), the unfortunate Rip Torn (who must nave been duped, bribed, or blackmailed), and others who will spend much of their later careers trying to live down the fiasco.

This review is of course about the latter. I can understand why some reviewers actually like the thing. It's a pretty puff piece, a big fluffball of empty calories - cinematic junk food. In this case, it's not super-salty potato chips, but packing peanuts soaked the dregs of a deep-fat fryer. It's hard to resist this sort of toothsome slop - else most of the fast-food traps would be out of business.

The story of Marie Antoinette is a sad one, and in the end she suffered the fate that most members of her class richly deserved. This story needs to be told with empathy and dignity. In this film there is some feeble attempt at the former, but absolutely none of the latter.

The banality of the script is almost iconic, leaping like a starved carnivore from cliché to cliché. Amazingly, the script touches effectively on the point that "Let them eat cake" (literally, "brioche") may not have said by Marie Antoinette at all. In fact the script does a fair job of avoiding historical howlers.

We can at least say that the script gets the acting it deserves - as Dorothy Parker once said of Katharine Hepburn, no less - running "the gamut of emotions from A to B". The most important problem with the script is where it stops.

The connection of Marie Antoinette with the great French Revolution is fundamental. In this film, the Revolution takes place with scarcely any intimation that it's brewing. But the Revolution begins on schedule anyway, but is barely under way when the film ends. Marie Antoinette's life in the first years of the Revolution, and her execution particularly, may as well not have happened so far as this film is concerned. This is even more lame than (for instance) ending the story of Cinderella at the point when she arrives home after running away from the ball. (Of course, I'll bet you that most of any modern audience will sit there gaping, saying to themselves, "I wonder what happened to her after that". Such is the state of modern education.)

Indubitably, the lamest part of this "Marie Antoinette" is the musical (if you can call it that) score. It's not merely lame, it's tawdry and terminally stupid. When it's not insipid musak, it's rock. Now, rock music is incapable of any real emotional content whatsoever. It's OK for car chases, fist fights, shoot-outs, tractor pulls, monster trucks, unbridled raunchiness, and other events of more than usual empty mindlessness. It's totally unsuitable for any film that aspires to some degree of quality. The quantity of this stuff is a good indicator of the depths to which the film sinks.

There is a little decent music in the film, every note of it composed during the period of Marie Antoinette's life or before. Even there, the film's penchant for cheap shots shines (if that's the word) through. Recall the several little episodes when Marie Antoinette is awakened and dressed in the morning. The music is Vivaldi's Concerto for Diverse Instruments. Where have we heard that before? Remember "All That Jazz"? This is the music that plays during Roy Scheider's wake-up ritual. "Marie Antoinette" uses some good music to good purpose and even then it's just a cheap rip-off of another film.

I suppose it can be said that "Marie Antoinette" has its good points. The sets and costumes are very bright, cheery, and not inaccurate. On the other hand, the genuine tawdriness of late 18th-Century French fashion serves admirably to set off the equally genuine tawdriness of the film. The same may be said for the complete absence of Voltaire as a character. After all, why bring out philosophy when you can trot out titillating assertions that Marie Antoinette was a slut.

(Pop Marie Antoinette is a far cry from either the real queen or Norma Shearer)
『Do not consider this movie without first seeing Norma Shearer's 1938 version, which was at least closer to the historical truth in interpretation. This version has better costumes and does relate some incidents that were true, but it is so bland and vapid and Kirsten Dunst is so one-dimensional as the queen that one can not understand why the Revolution even happened.
With plenty of actresses that would have done a superb job, such as Cate Blanchett, I don't comprehend this choice that resulted in one of the most limited, dull interpretations possible. The limitation of all the action to Versailles is also incomprehensible because Marie Antoinette spent a lot of time in Paris during her youth.
There is no insight into the queen's personality that would lead you to suspect that she would become the heroine and martyr of the Revolution, an image that still haunts the French Republic today and is the sole driving force in her historical interest.
The whole movie is forgettable and does NOT resemble the Antonia fraser book, "Marie Antoinette: The Journey" which is an excellent, insightful biography on the Queen, and probably the best that is available in English. If anything it takes after "Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution" by Caroline Weber, which just concentrates on the clothes like this movie does.』

While much was made of the fact thatMarie Antoinetteelicited boos at Cannes, the many favorable reviews attracted less attention. Inspired by Antonia Fraser's biography, Sofia Coppola fashions a portrait that's just as dreamy asThe Virgin Suicides, her first literary adaptation, and the Oscar-winningLost in Translation. Set to a soundtrack of post-punk (a conceit that adds more interest than resonance), the teenaged Marie (Kirsten Dunst, quite good) may be shallow, but she's rarely unsympathetic. The story begins in the late-18th century as the Austrian Archduchess agrees to marry Louis-Auguste (Jason Schwartzman). After bidding adieu to her mother, Maria Theresa (Marianne Faithfull), she travels to France, where King Louis XV (Rip Torn) sets the rules--and the list is endless (Judy Davis' Comtesse de Noailles is the primary enforcer). As for the Dauphin, he's just a boy, really, with more interest in his key collection than their marriage bed. Should Marie produce an heir, it might be enough to sustain her--since life is nothing but an endless shopping spree--but clouds gather on the horizon as an impoverished populace rises up against their extravagant leaders. Coppola merely suggests what happens next, although history paints a darker picture.
