『I have to say, price looked great, reviews looked great. Maybe I got a dud? Not sure honestly.

Fast, no dead pixels, some things looked really great.

This is my first review. For all you guys looking for a gaming monitor - here are my complaints;
1) Color was was pretty bad. Even my wife commended on it. I have an 2-3 year old viewsonic 1680x1050 that blew this Asus away in color quality.
2) I couldn't calibrate this thing to look good. It would look pretty good if I would change between preset color scenarios between games, desktop, and web pages. I tried to calibrate this thing for hours and couldn't get it where I was happy.
3) My last and final complaint - the lights and darks are non existent. You have to make the thing almost completely black to see the dim whites. I know TN panels are known for lack of whites/Darks.

Why I returned it : I was trying to snipe people in fog on americas army 3... I couldn't see anything thru a sniper scope, and I was getting killed by people with a regular tactical scope. I tried changing the color settings over and over again.. I couldn't see thru the fog.

After hours of trying to fix it, and believe me I wanted to keep the monitor because it looked big and beautiful... Before I turned it on!

『I Needed a new monitor for a few months now, so I decided to look for a few monitors online. I started with Walmart (for the sake of pricing). I found the Asus VW266H and decided to do some research. I started off wanting a 19" with<5ms response time. I would purchase a 19" w/the hopes of eventually going to 2 monitors down the road. I changed my mind. I still got my<5ms, but the size changed. I went to the website for spec's and various other websites for reviews and let me tell you, some reviews are not doing this monitor justice. I've had this monitor for a little over 3 weeks and very happy to say that I am impressed. After making few adjustments during the initial setup, I would like to say that the color on this monitor is brilliant. I went from 17" CRT who's light blew out. The monitor came w/all necessary hardware including both DVI&PC cord. The only possible knock is the initial setup. I much prefer side plug ins as to under the monitor. That's the only thing I didn't really care for. I am still considering going to a 2 monitor setup.』

『Got this with a $[...] ASUS rebate, which made it one of the cheapest buys for this size monitor. There were 23 inch monitors that were selling for more. Worked great right out of the box. Amazing graphics, vibrant color and easy to adjust controls. Only disappointing thing was the built in speakers. The sticker on the monitor states two, 3 watt speakers. They sound kind of flat to me. Plus they are pointed up instead of foward. So the sound goes somewhere up into the air towards the ceiling. If you have external amplified speakers then you're set. If you're thinking of buying a large size monitor this is the one to get. It also worked great with a MAC.』

『I bought this netbook primarily as a travel computer so I won't have to haul around my big laptop anymore. The day it arrived, I upgraded the memory to 2GB before I ever turned the computer on. When I powered up everything was fine. It's running Windows XP. I suppose if I had waited a little longer I could have gotten the Windows 7 Starter, but XP is fine.

The screen is quite a bit smaller than what I am used to, but I'm adapting. I thought I might be able to adjust the resolution so that more fit on the screen, but when I tried, I lost the taskbar. It has different dimensions than the typical laptop so I put the resolution back to the default. The keyboard is smaller, and I'm still getting used to the placement. There are some differences so one needs to be a bit careful. The touch pad is built into the housing and isn't the same as other touch pads I've used. That is the thing I like least about the computer. Instead of separate buttons, it's one long button and you press either side like you would to right or left click with a 2 button pad. I may just take a long a mouse. I do like that that there are 3 USB ports.

So far, I've downloaded and installed several utilities and Open Office. I haven't missed having a optical drive in it. It is faster to boot up than my Vista machine and I haven't noticed any big difference in Internet response time. I recently read that netbooks have a far higher failure rate than regular notebooks,especially after the first year, so I added a 3 yr warranty from Square Trade yesterday. That was only $55 and I think will be worth it. Reviews of the warranty product call it excellent and easy to work with the company. I'd recommend anyone with a netbook think about a better warranty for it.

My first trip with this netbook will be next week so we'll see how it goes. So far, I'm completely satisfied.』

『I love my new pink toy - I take it everywhere with me. I understand the plug to charge it with is very touchy which isn't good but otherwise it's exactly what I wanted and I love the pink as well! I put it in a Bible cover and take it wherever I go - even to work when needed!』

『I love this little netbook. Was looking for something small and easy to carry with me on trips so I could keep connected and check on my online business. This did everything I needed. The battery lasted a long time and connected easily to the WiFi networks available, when my hubby's big laptop wouldn't always connect. I was careful with the plug to charge the battery since several reviews said it could break easily, but didn't have any problems. Would definitely recommend this netbook to anyone looking for something lightweight and easy to carry for trips.

The screen is a little hard to read for e-mails, but if you zoom in or read in full-screen, then it's not a problem.』

『I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this product Disney Netpal by ASUS - 8.9-Inch Magic Blue Netbook - 5 Hour Battery Life for my family. One of the reasons I bought this over the Nickelodeon/Dell netbook - or another netbook brand - was that it is advertised that the RAM can be expanded up to 2GB. Asus does not offer factory upgrades. When I got the Netpal in this week, the warranty states that it needs to be serviced by an authorized repair shop. So I called to Tech Support and asked them about the upgrade. They said they don't recommend the 2GB RAM upgrade, won't do it in their service centers, and that it would void the warranty. EVERYWHERE on the internet it is advertised that it can upgrade to 2GB RAM. Make sure you consider this before purchase. I am not really happy with this purchase. I can't even get the some of the links on the Disney site to work. [...]. is very content rich and many of the links to videos and games just won't load.』

『I bought this for my 7 year old niece, and she really likes it. The set up for the new users is a little confusing. Parents should first create only their user account, and then afterwards create the account for the child using the parental control tool. The manual is sparse, and there isn't any online help at Asus's site yet. As the other reviewer stated, it is somewhat difficult to add programs to the Disney platform. We are still trying to figure out how to add Windows Media Player. The Disney media player is limited in that the screen size is approximately 3" and cannot be expanded. A DVD drive isn't necessary, just use one of the DVD rippers and converters, and save the files to a SD card. Just remember you are paying for the Disney name, because there is no way that I'd buy a 9" netbook for almost $350 for myself when there are better alternatives for that price. Oh well, it is very cute.』

『We got this for my Daughter for her 4th birthday and it is just her size and working out great. It says for 6-12 years, but she is responsible with computers and used to working on them. I decided on the Disney Netbook instead of a regular netbook because it says it has a spill resistant keyboard and supposed to be sturdier. I can't say if this is true as this is the only netbook we currently own. We like the ASUS brand of computers so that was a plus.

I thought I would like the parental program that is on it, but that is totally worthless. It is cute, but makes it impossible to add anything or do anything on the desktop and the internet pretty much. My daughter likes to play Jumpstart and some other online games and it ended up being much easier to use the regular desktop for all her stuff. You can still turn the Disney desktop on to go and play those games so it works out ok.

It is a fast machine and so far has had good battery life. We are very pleased with it so far. I only wish Netbooks had room for an internal optical drive as my daughter has several games that require the cd to be in to play. But that is solved easily with an external one.』

The Disney Netpal by ASUS features two choices of stylishly designed lids; Disney Princess Pink boasts beautiful pink florals and Disney Magic Blue cleverly displays rows of miniature Mickey Mouse icons.

Kids can dress their desktops with more than 10 customizable themes inspired by popular characters from Disney and Disney·Pixar including Cars, Club Penguin, Disney Classic Characters, Disney Fairies, Disney Princesses, Vintage Mickey Mouse, Toy Story and WALL-E.
