I decided to go with this particular model over the one with handles because I mostly need a case to protect my laptop when I throw it in my bag. It's perfect for this. I wanted to add my 2 cents to those who have the same model, and are looking for the best sleeve for it.
Pros - perfect size/fit for the Dell Mini 10. Haven't thrown the charger in yet, but it looks like it will fit, if snugly. - the laptop slides in and out easily, while still fitting snugly in the sleeve. No cumbersome process to get it in and out. - it's purple! Someone else's (disappointed) review said this and it actually motivated me to get this design. My mini is purple. - The Micro Dot design wasn't my favorite on the screen, but there aren't that many designs available in the 10 inch size. But "in person," with the purple background and details, it's fun and vibrant, and has really grown on me. - good price for a neoprene sleeve of this size -- one of the best prices I found. Also available with Prime shipping, which was a must for me, and (admittedly) limited my choices.
Cons - the only foreseeable con is the ties on the zipper seem slightly flimsy. I'm worried about them tearing with time, but that's kind of par for the course. - if you want a lot of extra storage with your sleeve, this doesn't really offer it. (I love my Asus but...) 『I have this Asus laptop in white with 8.5 hrs of battery life. This is my first laptop and I love its size because I couldn't imagine toting around anything bigger.
It's sleek and stylish and I carry it in a protective padded case in a tote bag. I use it to play my video games, surf the internet or check email at my local Starbucks or wherever free wifi is available. Oh and if you don't have wifi, you will need to have high speed internet. I don't live in an area that has wifi yet. So I usually take my Asus when I need a cup of coffee or tea. Using the flat keyboard took a little getting used to but no big deal.
I have also experienced my Asus getting a little hot but I did see in the manual that you shouldn't have it on your lap when using it.
It's probably a good idea to have a layer of protection on any surface you're using in on at home. I use a bamboo placemat or the protective sleeve/case I purchased when I bought the computer.
Though not a desktop, it's very convenient to be able to use it anywhere in the house or on the road. I recommend upgrading the memory to 2GB, also getting a few flash drives. That way, you don't max out the memory so quickly.
It's wonderful that Asus has made quality laptops that are affordable.』
(NETbook NOT NOTEbook) 『Let's remember that this machine (as are all in the category) is not designed to be a replacement for a full-featured notebook computer. It is better to think of it as a large iPod Touch, Zune, or Archos internet-connected device. In that role, this netbook succeeds completely. Many people deride the touchpad but I have to say that it's one of the things I like best. So many people don't bother to delve deeper into Control Panel settings or research the functionality instructions of electronics and thus do not enjoy their full benefits. Entering and adjusting the trackpad settings yields a multitude of special functions such as 2-finger scrolling (both vertical and horizontal), image size enlargement and reduction and other terrific navigation shortcuts. It almost makes the trackpad work like a touch-screen iPod. As far as I'm concerned, the only alteration to the basic hardware configuration needed is to upgrade to the maximum 2GB memory allowed ($35-$40). Doing so definitely improves functionality. Some also bemoan the lack of Bluetooth but that is easily corrected with a USB dongle for about $5 these days. External USB, external monitor, headphone and other jacks are wonderful and can be increased with the use of a USB hub. The camera has not, and probably will not be used by me so I cannot comment. The keyboard has a nice responsive feel and while small, is perfectly usable. Battery life is acceptable based on the designed function of this NETbook. It is more than adequate when used to check e-mail, web-surf or shop and do light work or play. Anything longer than the 3-hour limit can easily be accomplished by plugging it in. However, choosing the same model with a larger 6-cell battery would not be out of line, if desired. Wireless set-up was easy and flawless and, with the included Windows XP Home, software installation and other familar functions are successful. Build quality seems very good and I expect this machine to last quite a while with careful use. It's small size and portability doesn't negate the need for care. I've read some mentions of this unit getting hot during use. I have not experienced this as my unit has only remained reasonabley warm. If one buys this netbook as a supplement to a desktop or notebook computer he or she will not be disappointed. Trying to make this a replacement for a professional, work-level computer will only lead to frustration. I highly recommend this netbook as a fun, casual-use adjunct to your electronics arsenal.』
(cute, but...) 『I bought this for portable wi-fi and it does work for this. But, I'm a novice in wi-fi so I am disappointed in its limited range. On my house wireless network it is ok in the room below, but out of range in the front of the house maybe 40 feet away. I bought an extender antenna for it which was very difficult to install for lack of "dummy" instructions (assumed I knew a whole lot more than I did). It would allow the netbook to pick up my wireless signal in the front of the house, but speed is so slow that I can't use it for video. I was also surprised at getting system error messages early on when I hadn't done anything to disrupt the default system. And ASUS tech support must come from Taiwan- stilted language and poor spelling/grammar that makes it hard to understand their FAQs and such. There is a very active ASUS Forum on the Internet, but I'm not sure you can trust the advice there in all cases. Last, maybe I expected too much, but booting is very slow. I may try the extra gig of memory to see what effect that has. On the plus side- Amazon ordering was a snap and I got it very quickly even with the free delivery. I've had it for about a month now and have experienced no problems at all, no dead pixels I can find. At $200 it sure beats the others price-wise.
It does seem a little brighter than my Dell and experimenting with brightness, contrast etc. from factory was needed to suit me but that's to be expected. I have not tried any input except the DVI but I didn't buy it to watch DVDs so HDMI wasn't a deciding factor for me, I have a 47-inch Visio TV for that.

(6 months and still going strong!) 『I read a lot of reviews about the grey screen of death on these monitors and all I can say is I am really lucky to not be part of what seems to be a third of the buyers of this product--those who have this issue or at least reported it.
I run this thing every day that I am home for 2-15 hours and I have never had an issue. The only problem I ever have is it takes too long to turn on/receive the DVI signal when I turn on my PC for me to see my boot splash screen. I see the VERY end of it then it goes into loading windows. This may be a problem for those who use multiple computers and like getting into the BIOS to tweak/set up/repair often.
Otherwise, this is a great monitor. It displays games really well, allows me to have two windows open at a time when doing homework, and doesn't have an annoyingly bright LED when it is on--cool blue.
It may help to share that I only use the DVI connection on here for my PC (and VGA twice to troubleshoot a couple old PCs)--it looks like all those people having errors have used their HDMI connectors, which is a shame since it's 2010 and everyone is getting on board HDMI. I love ASUS video cards and motherboards and wish their excellent customer service from those products would carry over to help these folks out.
