『The ac adapter failed and Wendy the supervisor at ASUS gave me the run-around and will not honor the 1 year warranty. The warranty card plainly states that the warranty covers everything but, the battery or free accessories such as mice or laptop bag. She says that excludes them from covering the AC adapter that is integral to using the laptop. I contend that the AC Adapter is not a free accessory. Wendy is at the Customer Support Line they keep putting in these review responses and their job is to tell you that your warranty does not mean what it reads. I believe they have made a business decision to not stand behind these because they have a high failure rate on the AC adapter. I believe it will cost them more in unhappy customers than they gain by cheating us out of our warranty. I have bought many ASUS products in the past and thought they were a reputable company. I can not recommend them in the future.』

『Bought this laptop in June. After 3 months of use the AC adapter failed. Called customer support over 10 times over a period of a month. Worst customer experience I have ever had. The people they have working there are incompetent and do not care.

First they said they will ship me a adapter but I will have to pay to ship the old one back. Filled out RMA forms and faxed to them. After a week they sent me the wrong item! Had to ship the wrong item back. Waited 2 weeks and nothing happened. After numerous calls they said they are out and won't know when they will be back in stock. They still have not called me back and I doubt they ever will.

Now I have a dead laptop sitting there accumulating dust.

I would NOT recommend buying this item at all. Their warranty is a joke if it breaks you're on your own.』

(Power connector problems)

『The issue with this was the flimsy power connector. On the first day of use the power connector had a loose feeling (it's a very flimsy, weak jack). I had to push it in, and not move it too much or it would stop charging. After a week or so I had to apply light pressure in one direction to get the power connector to actually deliver power. This signals a poorly constructed machine - but the shipping company took it back, and is allegedly refunding my money.』

Runs windows 7 great. downsides are that it only has 2 usb ports and to upgrade the memory you have to completely tear this one apart which voids the warranty. i would probably go with the 1005 version though due to the extended battery life and extra usb port.』
