『There's an ugly rumor in the hydroponics industry: that if you grow organic, you get tiny harvests. That used to be true, until Advanced Nutrients made Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom. Efficiency, organic power and potency are what you get when you use Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom.Rich extracts of fish, guano, earthworm castings, yucca, krill, alfalfa, volcanic ash and other all-natural ingredients spur metabolism, budding sites, floral development, and enhanced taste and aroma. In testing conducted on a variety of hydroponics, aeroponics, soil and outdoor gardens, Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom produced bushier plants, shorter internodes, more flowering sites, larger flowers and better scent and taste. Further testing shows that Iguana Juice outperforms all other organic formulas. In some cases, Iguana even outperformed top-rated synthetic hydroponics fertilizers.Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom are manufactured using the highest standards and the best types of organic source materials. Other organic formulas are yucky, smelly and hard to use, especially in hydroponics fertigation systems. Iguana Grow and Bloom are deodorized and perfectly formulated so they work well in all types of gardens.Ever notice that the way you feed your plants includes using a liquid called water? It figures that putting liquid fertilizer in water instead of powdered fertilizer is a very effective way of getting complete organic nutrition into your plants so they'll give you accelerated growth and amazing yields. That's part of the magic of Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom. If you want to see a golden return on your garden, use Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom. These two products will together give higher quality, heavier organic harvests, or you get your money back.』 タイトル『 Alcorn State University (ASU) Diploma Frame >

This is great for enjoying ebooks and also lets me use my email program and others. It is sturdy, compact and light. I enjoy travel and this makes a great companion. There is lots more I can learn about how to use it's many features, but I don't have to do that to enjoy it. Lovely sound from the speakers and a really nice clear crisp display screen. Windows 7 is much friendlier than Vista, which I have on my other computer.』
(Ultra-portable, not a workhorse) 『It's great, I haven't installed a 2 gig memory stick, but I'm not noticing any major slow downs. This netbook is not designed to be a workhorse computer. I'm using it to take notes in class, the handwriting recognition software is pretty neat, although it's going to take some getting used to (my handwriting is fairly chicken-scratchy). The SD drive expansions come in pretty handy to double the storage space.』
(Try out the keyboard first.) 『I've had two different ASUS Netbook models, the EEE PC 1000 and 1000HE. The first one I traded in because of the placement of the right shift key directly to the right of the up-arrow on its keyboard, which resembles this model. That drove me crazy and I could not learn to distinguish between the up key and the right shift key, and I needed to have a portable, light, **typing** device.
I sold that one and with the 1000HE improved the keyboard layout, but I still needed a BIG right-shift key, and I really needed the netbook to do more.
This model, I appreciate the touch screen, which I would use. But do try it out first in a store somewhere, especially at this 8.9" size (the models I had were 10" screens).
At this size, as a buyer, you should be needing a light portable device that you do light typing and web browsing on and can stow it around. It's more like an accessory, in that regard. Or a hobbyist device.
At this price point, you could almost buy a new, fuller-featured laptop, but hey, I don't like how heavy they are!
ASUS was the fastest netbook I found. Worth consideration. Especially with Windows 7 bundled. Just try beforehand, is my biggest recommendation.』
(Sweeet device..;-)) 『I just got mine a couple of days ago, it's been a sweet honeymoon since... I bought it for $380 (used) but in perfect condition (the original owner get it as a gift). Everything works perfectly. I've known that the CPU is somewhat weak, so I order the 2GB RAM from Amazon. But after a couple of runs (start up&shut down) I found even the standard memory is quite acceptable. I noted less than a minute start up (cold start) and less than 20 seconds to shut down. Wake up from sleep mode takes less than 8 seconds to a touchable window. Slightly faster than my MSI Wind U100 that have Win XP. So I still let my 2GB RAM sitting around until I found the time to install it.
The keyboard is tiny, but to be expected in this tiny device, I was surprised after a while I found it quite comfortable, so I wrote this review with it.
The dual touch screen (yes it's dual¬ multi touch, it can only registered 2 touches at the same time) is great. Very responsive&I don't need my finger nail to use it.
The moment it was in my hand, I installed BSPlayer (free) to watch video, and as long as you don't have many programs running in the background, this little device rocks. The video plays perfect and smooth...
So far it's a perfect little device for me... :-)』
(This is fantastic !! Everything I wanted) 『This is my first netbook and it's really more than I imagined. The touch screen works very well in all modes and I use it mainly for reading in the tablet mode. The keyboard took a little getting used to due to its size but its very useable. The 32GB memory is working well for me and I plan to add another 16GB memory card in the SD Reader slot just for pictures, documents and movies. She runs pretty fast with Windows 7 Home Premium installed and is no slouch when playing installed videos and YouTube downloads. All in all I'm very happy with the unit.』 『The Eee PC T91MT's multi-touch functionality makes interacting with the computer so intuitive and effortless, it encourages users to get creative.test technology without a technical manual. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The Pinnacle of Today's Netbooks) 『I purchased this netbook a little over several weeks ago. I was enjoying my Wind U100 since April of last year, but I needed something with more power and a little larger. So the 1201N caught my eye. Dual core Atom, up to 4GB RAM, NVidia ION, HDMI out, and a 12 inch screen, I figured that I might as well give it a shot. I sold my U100 to my sister, bought the 1201N, and had it shipped to me overnight.
Wow, best $500 I ever spent.
This is a godsend for all netbooks.
Dual Core Atom 330 - The one feature I like about the Atom processor family is its inclusion of Hyper-Threading to give it two logical cores. With this dual core processor, Hyper-Threading gives it 4 logical cores. The speed gain when multi-tasking is very noticeable. The big test I sent it through was running a Livestream that took information from the web camera, my desktop, the microphone, and a Garry's Mod screen. It ran this test fantastically. This is major selling point #1.
2GB RAM - This was the maximum amount I could load up in my old U100. This amount comes standard with the 1201N, and can be expanded to 4GB (chipset allows for 8GB, but the firmware prevents Windows from seeing it all). The chipset also allows for dual channel capabilities. I will be getting another 2GB for this netbook sometime in the future.
250GB HD - It's kind of slow, actually. If the processor doesn't bottleneck your applications, it's the hard drive. If you can, replace it with something a little faster.
12" display - This screen is gorgeous. It's crisp and clear, and far outdoes the 10" display my U100 had.
HDMI out - Major selling point #2. My roommate has a nice 32" 1080p HDTV in the living room area. Whenever we want to show videos on it, it's either through a DVI-to-HDMI converter or on the laptop screen itself due to the hassle of getting it to work. This HDMI feature simplifies everything to the plugging in of a simple cable. Once the connection is made, it's immediately recognized by the netbook and the proper changes are made. Video is initially mirrored on the TV, and your audio travels through to your TV speakers. You can disable your laptop display and rev up the resolution to 1920x1080 on the TV as well, if it's capable. As a test, we ran Conan O' Brien's last Tonight Show on it, which was in 720p. My word, it was beautiful. It was clean, smooth, and took up very few resources.
Windows 7 Home Premium - I like this operating system a lot. It has a nice feature set and helps to fix some of the problems that Vista had, such as being a better memory manager. Aero doesn't skip a beat and runs great. I upgraded my U100 to Windows 7 Business, which handled it fine as well.
Nvidia ION and overall gaming - Major selling point #3. Half the reason I wanted to buy this netbook was because of Nvidia ION. My U100 had a hard time playing Flash games, and any 3D game beyond 2001 was out of the question. Upon receiving this netbook, I installed Steam right away and installed all of my games. The first game I tried was Left 4 Dead, and I was moderately surprised at how well it ran. It's playable, definitely, but could use some tweaking. Team Fortress 2 was my next test, which came out a little worse. But, this is due to the Source engine being much more of a CPU-intensive application than GPU, and the Atom bottlenecks due to its low bus speed. But, it's still playable, given that the team size is not very large. I then decided to give a prehistoric game a try. I ran Unreal Tournament: GOTY to see how quick it would run, since it only needs a Pentium II to run effectively. This, along with running it at 1080p on the HDTV, was a blast to test. UT:GOTY was incredible on that HDTV despite it being such an old game. Other games, such as Garry's Mod and Audiosurf, run without a hitch. I do not have games like Fallout 3 or Bioshock, but I've heard that they run incredibly well since they rely more on the GPU than CPU. Eventually, Adobe will release Flash 10.1, which will make viewing Flash content on this machine a breeze.
Built-in Camera - It's average. No higher in quality than my U100's camera.
Keyboard - This was a little weird when I initially got it. It was larger, yes, but the keys themselves were the size of the keys on my U100. They were spaced out more. But, after a day of typing on it, I was fine.
Bluetooth - Excellent so far. No hitch.
USB 2.0 / SD Card reader / 10/100 NIC - They do their job.
802.11BGN card - The product description mentions that this netbook is 802.11N capable. Only the driver that Atheros provides has N features, not the card itself. However, this was an easy fix. If you go into the wireless card's driver properties, you can easily set the card to 802.11bg only. This fixed my problem with connecting to the 802.11n network at school. So yes, keep this in mind.
Touchpad - This was alright. It's odd having the touchpad be a part of the chassis in a way, only to be distinguished by having bumps around where it's located. Multi-touch is a bit sensitive, but I kind of expected it. It's fun to use with applications that take advantage of it though.
Battery - I could only go up when it came to battery life, as my U100 only had a 3 cell that lasted for 2.5 hours. The 1201N goes on about 4 1/2 hours on a full charge with balanced settings. It's more than enough to keep me entertained through World Population&Social Issues.
Overall - this product is amazing when you compare it to everything else out there. This is the portable home theater system that anyone can use at a price that's affordable. It outperforms every netbook I've seen. I bought this one instead of the HP Mini 311. All I can say is that I made a pretty good choice.
If you want a machine that can perform all of your essential tasks, play your videos and music, and play your games at low to moderate settings, buy this netbook. It's worth every penny.』
(Great, speedy netbook.) 『I purchased this netbook as soon as it was available, and haven't regretted it. It's got a very nice, spacious keyboard, and the screen is bright and colorful.
The only upgrade I have done is add 4gb OCZ memory, to bring the total ram usable to 3.25. I won't upgrade to 64-bit Windows 7 as people have been saying that certain things no longer work as there are drivers missing for this netbook.
My biggest complaint with this netbook is the teeny sound that it outputs, and the audio itself seems to crackle and pop for some unknown reason. It doesn't always happen, but it does happen. Mainly happens with youtube.
I have tested a few games on it like COD4, Portal, and Devil May Cry 4, and they ran pretty well even at max resolution with all low settings (Portal ran well even with med/high settings). It's not gaming machine but it does get the job done when necessary.』
(Not at all what I was expecting.) 『First let me start by saying that I had a original acer aspire one netbook and loved it. While browsing the web was a little slower than a normal pc it was a very good all round device that I used for the web and to download pictures and videos to when I was on vacation. I was looking for something with a larger screen and a little faster expecting to play some games on. From all the beaming reviews of this device I was expecting to to play hulu and just about every video format with perfect ease. What a cruel fib. This device out of the box looked fantastic. The screen was beautiful as well as the design. But upon the first boot up it took forever to setup windows and once it was, it was so full of bloat ware it bogged down the pc for any operation and glitched on about every thing I would try and do. After playing around for a while I decided to do a fresh install. It took about the same amount of time the original boot was but it did install with slightly less bloatware. After it was all setup it was slightly faster but it was still very glitchy.
Things to note: The pc has a very very slow hard drive. The touchpad was nice but the dual finger scrolling in a web browser was very glitchy. Don't expect to play many newer games as the pc struggles to do anything. Torchlight can be played at 20fps in normal mode or 30-40 in netbook mode. The other games I have tried were much slower, 10-20 fps. My daughter got a MV-40 powered netbook for xmas and it feels so much faster than this pc it's ridiculous. I was expecting it to be the opposite. If I had that power with this video I would have been happy. Let me stress this point the pc struggles to do everything. I could even go on and say I think my acer aspire one was more responsive but they were about the same. Sure this pc played video better than the aspire but I was expecting that. Hulu would glitch in low res if you made it full screen. Youtube could play in HD pretty well. WMVHD files played great. But basic flash would not play well in full screen at all.
Well, I'm having a hard time writing this cause I'm watching a movie so I'll end it here. In the end I decided to send this unit back hopefully Amazon realizes that I spend a ton of cash with them so hopefully they don't kill me with a restocking fee. But for a little extra I decided to go with a real gaming pc for a few hundo extra. 』
(USB ports do not detect 32 GB 3GS iPhone) 『I am very disappointed that none of the 3 USB ports recognize (or detect) my 3GS iPhone though the ports work well with my USB drive and DVD burner. Maybe the USB ports does not have enough ampere.
For the unknown reason, after loading MS Office 2007, it does not response well.
Watch out for the "power option" that you are using. If you are in a power saving mode or something similar, with USB drive connected, after being idle for a while, by default, it shuts off the USB power to conserve battery. After waking up, then it'll supply power to the USB drive. I noticed this after hearing clicking sounds from the drive.
I've got a mini network switch from Japan that's powered off the USB drive of this netbook. Having the power shut off from the USB drive does not work for me. So I had to change the setting of the power option so not to shut off the power while being idle.
My major grip is that the USB ports not able to detect my iPhone. Seems like someone else also have problem of the USB port power. I am returning it for a refund.
====
1 day later, I went to Apple Store for 1 last shot before returning the 1201N. After all, the Windows 7 that's running on 1201N is able to detect the new iPhone which was exchanged at the Apple Store.
Apparently there is some firmware difference between day-1 3GS iPhone and the latest one at the Store; also there is difference between the 16 GB 3GS vs the 32 GB 3GB iPhone. 1 of the obvious ways you can tell is when Windows says it detected a new hardware device and installing a new driver. If the firmware is the same, it wouldn't need to install a new device driver.
The above conclusion is based on the following tests: - Brand new 1201N Silver, running Windows 7, could not detect the 3GS 32 GB iPhone (3.1.2 OS) which I'd since it came out - The same iPhone plugged to my 3 years old Dell notebook, running Windows XP Pro, worked fine. It implies that the iPhone is not defective. - At Apple Store, my iPhone worked fine with Mac there. It also implies that my iPhone is not defective. - At Apple Store, they connected a 3GS 16 GB (months old) to 1201N and it worked. It implies that 1201N USB ports and Windows 7 are ok.
So why my original 32 GB 3GS iPhone not working on the 1201N ???
After exchanging with the new 32 GB 3GS (3.1.2 OS) iPhone then the 1201N can detect it. The only explanation I can think of is the incompatibility of older model of 32 GB 3GS and Windows 7. Hope it helps whoever may run into the same problem.
With the 32 GB 3GS iPhone problem resolved, I would raise the rating from 2 stars to 4 stars given the fact that I still experience some lagging in performance even though it runs on super performance mode. 』
(Powerful multimedia / gaming netbook) 『Thought a netbook could not handle the new games? Well wrong. The ASUS Eee PC 1201N is just what any avid gamer wants while traveling light. Granted the AUS Eee PC 1201N does not have the horse power to run CPU intensive apps ... but who wants that when you are on the go. Email, Web Surfing, Blogging, Tweeting, IM'ing and Video Chat are what you basically want to run in a netbook; and GAMES for those looking to frag and pwn whenever they can. A lot of folks tout about battery life. I'm getting approx 3-4hrs on the 1201n not the best, but I'm never too far from an power outlet.
Little know fact: The 1201n can support 64bit os (i.e., window 7 64bit) This allows you to take advantage of memory over 3.5GB (up to 8GB). By default you get Window 7 32bit and 2GB or RAM (not too shabby). Also, the Atom 330N can be over-clocked .. I'll just leave it at that.
Now, there are lots of reviews on the ASUS 1201N on the net (mostly positive, so you don't need me to convince you.) I you are looking for a netbook that does the basic w/o the need of game and HD-media, you can get any cheap $200-300 netbooks (sub $200 if you search hard enough.) However if you are in the hankering for gaming and HD-meida, you'll need either a netbook or notebook with a pretty powerful graphic. The Asus 1201n has the Nvidia ION, which out-powers any other integrated chipset in the netbook and low-end notebook market. If you were to look for a good video chipset in a Notebook, expect to spend close to (and even over) $1K. So, the fact that the ASUS 1201n is sub $500 to me is a good deal. Now mind you, if want to wait ... there will always be better, powerful and probably cheaper netbook coming around the corner. My personal advice on waiting is: You'll grow old waiting before you'll buy one because there'll always a better one down the road and so on. The decision is ultimately yours. Think what you what and how you will use it; not occasionally, but seriously. You will not regret your decision.
All in all, I love this little netbook, it's doing exactly what I wanted when I'm on the move ... wish it was a bit smaller still though :p
Hope this review helps.』 『Go Beyond the Ordinary

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Very nice Bag) 『This bag actually has a decent amount of padding on all sides of where the laptop is kept. I've actually dropped the computer from a couple of feet off the ground (on accident) and it didn't damage the computer at all. If you tossed this from several feet up or against a wall or something, the padding probably isn't strong enough to protect you ;) For everyday situations though, this should be sufficient.

Dashy iPhone Apps
[...] 』
(Works Great) 『Simple set up and use. It actually burns better than the built-in drive on my old laptop, which excelled at making coasters. Although it is a bit slower, it works every time.』
(Great USB powered DVD Drive) 『I needed a reasonable priced yet quality built DVD drive for my netbook. After doing some research I narrowed it down between Asus and LG. The Asus was 30 dollars cheaper but did not have lightscribe as the LG did. This feature wasn't important to me (I have other drives with lightscribe and very rarely if ever use that feature), so I decided to go with the Asus. The Drive comes with installation software, a cradle, (so you can mount it vertically) and a double ended usb cable. If you need more power to run the drive, use both usb ends and that doubles the power. So far, I have just used ONE end and have had no problems running the drive. The drive is very contemporary looking, and no bigger than a DVD or CD disc. It won't fit in your pocket, but it will slip into your bag or netbook case with ease. The case is a very shiny, black piano like finish and does attract fingerprints. Installation was a breeze, just plug n play. (you will need your own program though to play dvd's, as one is not provided in the software) I use Nero to burn my discs ... I have burned approx 50 discs, mostly cd's flawlessly ... not one coaster ... I have also burned several DVD's both single and double layer with the same results. Bottom line, this is a rock solid little DVD/CD burner that performs outstandlingly. For the money you can't go wrong.』
(Asus DVD writer external) 『I bought this with my ASUS netbook to down load some other software. It was very easy to use. It is very small not much bigger than the disc. It is very light weight and I wouldn't travel with it with out a case or something. Using my netbook unplugged it didn't drain the battery much at all. I am very happy with it.』
(Not quite "plug and play") 『I bought this for my eee pc, mainly so that I could watch DVDs. I was not able to immediately play DVDs with windows media player because there was not a compatible driver. After looking around on the web for the driver all I could find were drivers that I'd have to pay for. I ended up downloading vlc media player for free and can watch movies through that. I wish the installation disk had included the necessary driver. Also, it still won't play blu-ray discs which would be nice. I've never burnt any DVDs, but the box says it will burn blu-ray so I'm not sure why it won't play them. I'm not very tech savvy, but bought this thinking that plug-n-play meant I could plug it in and play discs without doing anything else. Asus customer support was not helpful with this problem.』 『The ASUS SDRW-08D1S-U offers consumers and professionals a complete DVD portable design burning solution. The stylish and attractive DVD burner utilizes the high-speed USB 2.0 interface with the ability to record on 8X DVD+R, 8X DVD+RW, 6X DVD-R and 5X DVD-RAM and access 8X DVD-ROM and 5X DVD-RAM formats.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Poor quality taints its speed and light weight benefits.) 『I was quite excited about getting this laptop for my girlfriend. The promise of light weight, long battery life and discrete graphics that allow for modest gaming sounded perfect for travel. Overall, I found a mix of goods&bads. The specs were correct and it is light&quick. But the quality is lacking. Details in the pros&cons below.
Pros: Speedwise, the laptop is nice and snappy. Waking from sleep, booting and typical tasks are all quick and responsive. I was able to play World of Warcraft at a playable frame rate (20fps in a big city).
The keyboard is responsive. I like the fact that it has all the keys you'll need, as well as a numeric keypad when you hold the Function key down.
The ASUS IS quite cool on your lap. You can feel some real heat coming out of the left vent, but it goes away from you. I am a bit concerned about all the vents on the bottom that are blocked when the unit is on your lap... Haven't had an issue yet though. My personal laptop (a 1.5 year old Macbook Pro) is quite a bit warmer on the legs.
The light weight makes the UL30Vt easy to transport. I notice the weight in my pack, but it's not bad.
Cons: Build quality leaves a bit to be desired. I'm used to a laptop with a full machined, all aluminum case and an edge to edge glass screen. The Ul30Vt has an aluminum surface on the back side of the display and that's it. Plastic everywhere else. The plastic around the bezel is not completely smooth, having various subtle, but noticeable waves and dimples in the surface, especially near the rubber bumpers. The gloss plastic surface around the bezel and keyboard is a fingerprint magnet. This doesn't affect performance, but gives a sense of cheapness.
Display Quality: This is probably my biggest issue. When people say the display has a narrow viewing angle, I'm like "No problem, I'll just tilt it to the right position". Well, even that doesn't work. The vertical viewing angle is so narrow, it's actually not possible to angle the display to a position that provides uniform brightness. If it's aimed directly at me, the center area (vertically) has nice deep, black blacks. But the upper and lower areas of the screen fade to a lighter black/gray, when they should remain completely black. This is probably OK for web surfing and email with predominantly white backgrounds, but in gaming or video watching where there can be a lot of black/dark backgrounds, it's bad.
Touchpad: The dimpled touchpad is a little odd, having no border to clue you in that you're off the edge (besides the lack of dimpling), but that part didn't bother me much. What did is that it's not very responsive. My laptop's touch pad is far far more sensitive. It's not the cursor speed setting that's the issue, it's that you sometimes need to move your fingers a significant amount to get a response. The ASUS touch pad does not recognize a 3 finger tap if your fingers are next to each other. You need to consciously spread your fingers out a bit.
Printed Documentation is lacking. There's a quick start manual that tells you a few setup things, but I can't tell why the Graphics Mode (discrete/integrated) button no longer does anything. Even when it did switch modes, the little LEDs showing the current mode never illuminated, so you couldn't be sure which mode you were in at a glance.
The spring holding the lid down when closed is too strong. You can't open the laptop with one hand (IE, while holding something or the laptop in your other hand). The whole front of the laptop lifts up. They could have designed something that held it closed more firmly while 95% or more closed, but once you lifted the lid up a bit, it became easy enough to open without tilting the whole laptop up.
Waking from sleep: The UL30Vt can be made to sleep when the lid is closed. Why can't it wake from sleep when the lid is opened? You need to tap a key. Not a huge deal, but one of those little things you'd think would have been thought of.
Sticker-o-rama. Sheesh! This thing has more stickers than the sticker vending machine at Chuck E Cheese. Well, OK, at least 7 or 8. Some of them were very pernickety, like the Intel, GeForce and Windows stickers. A tip: Once you get the top part of these 3 stickers off (I worked at them with a fingernail), you can use another, more easily removed sticker to help pull up the gooey mess left behind.
Hard Drive Partitioning: Not sure what the benefit is to splitting the hard drive in 2 partitions, one for the system and one for data. They are on the same physical drive, so there wouldn't be a speed advantage. I suppose you can control fragmentation better. All I see is that it'll become a restriction later as one or the other partition fills first, leaving wasted room on the other unless you start storing that type of data on both partitions. IE, applications/music library, etc. Not a huge deal on a 500GB drive for most people. But I tend to fill the available space.
Neither Pro nor Con: Battery Life: While I wasn't expecting the advertised "up to 11 hours", 4.5 hours in general wireless web surfing use is quite a bit lower. However, this is well more than the 2.5 hours of my laptop, so I'm not making it a negative.
Crapware: There was some, but not an immense amount of crapware. Some sort of virus protection software you can activate (for a fee, likely). I just removed it and installed the free MS Security Essentials. There are also games. I left those on in case my GF wants them.
Summary: While there are a lot of cons, the UL30Vt does do some things well. It's probably a good fit for some people. Specifically, where price, light weight and speed come before overall laptop and display quality. It'll likely be fine for my girlfriend, but I wouldn't put up with the issues for my own use. I suppose I've gotten spoiled. 』
(Perfect except for the touchpad) 『Very nice computer except for the touchpad. I think ASUS made a major mistake going to this touchpad design. The touchpad on my 10 inch ASUS netbook is much better. This one is much harder to control accurately and tends to make the cursor jump about or even vibrate. I love the increased power and how cool the computer runs. I guess I'll be using a mouse from now on.』
(Solid Full Featured Netbook trouncer) 『Was considering top of the line netbooks until I found this. Pros: Battery life is really as long as the claims keyboard has a good feel hdmi output only con: switching between graphics performance modes is a little buggy if used while not plugged in』
(Even better than I expected) 『After reading pretty much every review available for this model not just on amazon but all across the web, I felt like I had a pretty good idea of what to expect when this laptop finally arrived. Well, I've had it for about a day now, but used it a lot and I wanted to give my first impressions since they contrast with some of the information that is out there. First off, the unboxing was nice, the UL30Vt was snug and didn't come with too much extraneous crap. The manual, though, is horrible. It's a generic book for just about any of Asus's laptops and is almost totally useless unless you've never seen a laptop before. First boot took a while, setting up windows and getting all the updates, but once that was done the first thing I noticed about this laptop was, it's SNAPPY! Most laptops I've seen seem to drag along forever while they load anything. This laptop's hard drive must be pretty quick (Windows rates it a 5.9, not bad). After using it a while I'm not even sure you really NEED a SSD; I haven't spent much time waiting on the disk (I've got one on order anyway :) ). The next thing I want to address is the TOUCHPAD. Every review everywhere has a comment about the touchpad, some good, most bad. My impression is that it isn't NEARLY as bad as some have made it out to be. It works totally fine, and is plenty accurate. The multi-touch works basically perfectly. There was a lot of friction at first due to the plastic surface but you know what the solution was? Wipe one finger across your forehead and then rub the touchpad and it's "seasoned" perfectly. A little gross, I know, but it works. The performance from the CPU and GPU have been great. I plan to pretty much keep mine on the G210M and running at 1.73GHz all the time, why not? Life's too short to have a slow computer. PLUS, and please listen to this because I didn't see it mentioned ANYWHERE ELSE but it's crucial and makes a BIG difference. When you're on the integrated graphics you get the standard intel graphics driver. When you're on the nVidia chip, you get the 186.88 version of the nVidia driver. Yes, we all want an update to a more recent version for various reasons (and maybe that will someday we'll get it, surely) but until then, the most important thing about this is: nVidia drivers have an option for adjusting something they call DIGITAL VIBRANCE. It is like saturation. Adjusting this control upwards makes the colors so much richer and brighter, the quality of the image on the screen increases dramatically, in my opinion. If you haven't tried adjusting this, you are missing out on one of the best parts of using an nVidia chip. When you switch back to the intel graphics, the color enhancement goes away, since the drivers switched. I'm just keeping mine on nVidia. Moving on, the hard drive is also VERY quiet. I can't hear it all unless I put my ear right on it. I don't know what anyone else was talking about with the loud hard drive. Also, the laptop feels very solid. No flex that I can feel, very light for the size. The bloatware was totally manageable and not unreasonable at all. It took an hour maybe to get it all under control. Overall I've been very pleasantly surprised that the few negatives I heard so many people whine about weren't actually much of a deal at all and the positives were even better than expected. I would absolutely recommend this laptop.
EDIT: A week later and I've got the Intel X-25m 80GB SSD installed. The performance is absolutely incredible. The Windows Performance Index for the hard drive went from 5.9 (already pretty fast) to 7.7! Boot times are cut in half or more. Most programs load faster than you could move the mouse to start using them. Laptop is now silent. I can't comment on how the battery life may have changed, but if it's substantially improved I'll re-edit. Incidentally, the actual process of cloning the installed drive over to the new SSD was more involved than I expected. There is so much information out there on SSDs now; I thought I had it all figured out but didn't. Here's a quick synopsis of the steps I finally took that worked, and this will work for you too. I wish I'd had this information beforehand. OK, first thing to do is install (physically) the SSD in the laptop, and hook up a USB CD-ROM with the Intel Firmware update. Then take the SSD out and put the OEM disk back in. Boot to windows and run admin tools, computer management, disk management and partition and format the new SSD disk (connected via SATA-USB enclosure) with 4096 sectors and NTFS. This will ensure proper alignment. As I learned, you CAN NOT image the whole disk (including the hidden partition that contains the recovery information). But Clonezilla and Acronis True Image both WANT to try to clone/image the whole disk. What you want is the C: partition. The way to get this is to create an image backup (in Acronis) of the C: partition TO THE D: partition. Then you'll recover this image (and boot sector, it will give you the option) to the SSD (which you'll have to have mounted in a SATA-USB enclosure). One you do, physically put the SSD back in the laptop and bingo, boot up, Windows recognizes the new drive, reboot and you're golden. Good luck!』
(Great laptop or netbook) 『I bought this product because of the great reviews I had read about it. I initially was looking at the HP dm3 and the Acer time-line, but I read great things about this laptop, and some bad things about the HP, and I hate Acer. I bought this laptop because it is a bit bigger than the standard netbook and it has a tremendous battery life. I was planning to use it as just a net book, but I have been surprised to find that it can do almost everything that my 18" laptop can do. I have had this product for about a week, and I have wiped off the bloat ware that came with it, and installed all the programs that I need for work and school, and have been very surprised by the performance of this machine. The battery life is outstanding and I have had absolutely no problems with this computer at all. The advertised 10-12 hrs is a bit unrealistic, but I have been able to average about 7-9 hrs of work using Office, surfing the web and streaming videos. I have not played any games, but I have watched hi res movies and streamed plenty of video, and it works like a champ. The wifi gets great reception, even better than my 18" 2000$ laptop does, and I keep finding more things to love about this laptop. Overall I would defiantly recommend this laptop to anyone, for basically anything except running it as a full time gaming machine, and I have not found really anything that I can list as a con about this machine.』 『Style and Performance in Perfect Harmony

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Perfect Business Portability at a Low Cost) 『I bought this laptop to replace an HP laptop I previously had. After owning a few laptops, I have learned what I like and what I don't like. This laptop is absolutely perfect. Almost never need to charge the battery. It lasts so so long. Perfect for MS office work and web browsing. I haven't tried it get, but it would probably hold up well to Mathematica and Matlab work as well. The mouse pad can be a bit touchy. However, like every laptop mouse you get used to it and learn the tricks to make it work the way you want. The screen is not to small, but not to large. Overall, I think it is perfect. The camera is great for skype or video conferencing, haven't used it for anything else. If your going to be rough with your laptop, this one might not be the one for you. I noticed, while not unsound or not sturdy, it does, because of its size, make you think you might break it. I am not rough with laptops, so I haven't seen a problem, but I could foresee if someone throws the laptop around or bumps it a few too many times it might effect it.
Overall: Great Buy for a portable business laptop』
(My Netbook) 『This is what I wanted in a laptop:
- something light enough to use around my apt and for travel - enough power for web browsing, watching youtube and avi's, and word processing
In essence, it sounded like I needed a "netbook" - or so I thought. After some experience using a netbook, the tiny screen, the mediocre battery life, and lack of "umph" to do basic tasks in Windows eventually pushed me away. They just wouldn't cut it. Then I came across Asus's UL line of laptops while doing some online research. From reading the many reviews across the web, I gathered that this laptop had all the aspects of a netbook minus the shortcomings. Even though I've used this laptop for only two days now, I am happy to report that this laptop has got it all. Here are some highlights:
- a screen with enough real estate so you don't have to scroll down to see an entire facebook picture. - ridiculous battery life - a great keyboard with a nice layout and no noticeable flex - snappy Core 2 Duo processor paired with Windows 7 makes for a speedy laptop experience - lighter than my wife's macbook
And to address some concerns raised in other reviews:
- not only is the trackpad not as bad as some people make it seem, but I actually find it quite good. As I mentioned earlier, my wife has a macbook so I think I have a good baseline for comparison. With a little tweak of the sensitivity settings, I couldn't be happier. It's still no macbook trackpad but it's pretty darn good. Sure you'll wander off the dimpled trackpad area once in a while, but honestly, who cares? Then again maybe I'm not that picky when it comes to my trackpad. - the trackpad uni-button is stiff, thin, and awkwardly recessed making it cumbersome to use. I'm a keyboard shortcut kinda guy so the tap-to-click, two-finger-tap-to-right-click, and two finger scrolling are sufficient for me. - my wifi card is connected and with good strength. - fingerprints are only visible on the black screen bezel. The silver hides the fingerprints much better than the black version.
I won't be editing videos or photos, burning dvd's, or building complex financial models in excel while running Bloomberg simultaneously. This laptop will be used to check my fantasy teams, reply to some emails, chat, and to show funny youtube clips to my family and friends. And this laptop will do these tasks really really well. The key is to figure out what you need and adjust your expectations accordingly. If you're looking for a laptop to do the same things as me, then look no further. Sure netbooks are cheaper, but spend a little more and you'll own a laptop that you'll actually use. You won't regret it.』
(Great laptop but the touchpad is skippy) 『Overall this is a great little laptop. The battery life is incredible. It boots up fast and the display is brilliant. My only complaint is with the touchpad. It is impossible to make fine movements with the touchpad. The pointer jumps and skips when making fine movements. Very annoying!!! I've updated the touchpad driver but that didn't eliminate the skipping and jumping. Others have recommended using an external mouse but that defeats the purpose of a "lap"top. Also, the bar that controls the left/right mouse buttons is so firm that it is practically unusable - but the tap features of the touchpad work quite nicely to replace the need for left/right buttons.
If you do a lot of photo editing or other tasks that require precise pointer movements avoid this laptop. Or look on eBay to find a good deal on a used one (mine). I may be selling it soon if I can't overcome this very annoying problem.』
(thought long and hard before purchase; very satisfied) 『I wanted something I would take with me everywhere, all the time, but something still very functional. I also wanted battery life that was so long I wouldn't need to think about it. I looked at netbooks; I looked at the HP Pavilion DM3-1040US. The netbooks were more portable, but less capable. The HP was heavier, had less battery life, and (I think) an inferior processor. I chose this Asus, and have no regrets. The battery life is fully as advertised. I take it with me everywhere. Windows 7 works well. Very satisfied. No wireless problems either.
It is a bit flimsy. The plastic wrist-rest creaks and buckles. My other computers include a desktop Dell with XP PRO; a Dell 17 inch notebook with VISTA; a Macbook Pro unibody 15, and this Asus. The trackpad is irritating, but anything would be compared to the Mac. I tried the Samsung Go netbook, the HP 1040, and others. All trackpads (except on the MAC) will make your wrist lock up. The HP trackpad was especially bad. The Asus will win no prizes, but I just use a mouse when I feel the need.
The most important consideration for an ultraportable is that you want to take it with you. If it's too heavy, you'll leave it home. If it's too slow, you won't want to use it anywhere. If the battery depletes to soon, there's no point. This Asus is the perfect balance, at least for me..』
(Amazing laptop) 『I purchased this laptop a month ago for school, and so far it has proven to be an amazing computer with few flaws.
Pros: - Amazing battery life, I cannot say enough about this. I regularly push 10 hours of use with Wifi on and screen at 40%. - 500gb HD is huge. I tossed it into an external case and installed an OCZ SSD w/ Windows 7 Pro before ever booting it up. Therefore I did not experience any bloatware. Performance with the SSD is breathtaking, same as the SSD in my desktop. I can't stand to use a computer with conventional spindle drives as boot disk anymore. I do still use them for cold storage though. - HDMI of course, this was a requirement for me. - 4GB of RAM. - Very cool computer. The fan hardly ever kicks on, and with an SSD this computer is literally completely silent. It makes my desktop sound loud, which is very hard to do. - No problems with Wifi, reception has so far been perfect. - The keyboard is amazing, once you get used to the odd spacing between the keys. Makes for fewer errors when typing, at least for me at 70WPM! - Super thin and pretty light, I barely notice the weight in my backpack.
Cons: - Glossy screen, but hard to find a laptop without one nowadays. - Integrated graphics. Thankfully I don't play many games, and the few I do play (Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, the Battlefield 1942 series) can manage. - No backlit keyboard. The one thing I really wish it had, but in light of all the pros this is a small fault. Still worth 5 stars to me. - Webcam isn't terribly great, but at least it has one.
I use this laptop mostly for office use, coding at school, and a fair amount of remote desktop. Could not ask for a better computer for the price.
Overall, I cannot recommend this laptop highly enough provided that you don't play newer games with any regularity.』 『Shrouded in a robust brushed aluminum lid, The ASUS UL30A-A2 Notebook PC looks as good as it performs. To open a Jump List, just right-click a program icon on the Windows 7 taskbar. (You'll also find them on the Start menu.) What you see in a Jump List depends entirely on the program. The Jump List for Internet Explorer 8 shows frequently-viewed websites. Windows Media Player 12 lists commonly-played tunes. Your Jump List missing a favorite? You can "pin" whatever files you like there. Jump Lists don't just show shortcuts to files. Sometimes they also provide quick access to commands for things like composing new eâmail messages or playing music.
Improved Windows Taskbar In Windows 7 you can "pin" favorite programs anywhere on the taskbar for easy access. Not crazy about the icon lineup? Now you can rearrange them any way you like by clicking and dragging. Finally, there are new ways to preview windows. Point to a taskbar icon to see a thumbnail preview of open files or programs. Then, move your mouse over a thumbnail to preview the window full-screen. You can even close windows from the thumbnail previews--a big time saver.
Snap Ever need to cut through a cluttered desktop and quickly focus on a single window? Just click a pane and give your mouse a shake. Every open window except that one instantly disappears. Jiggle again--and your windows are back.
