(Great brewer) 『We were in need of a new coffee brewer and wanted to return to Cuisinart brand. This machine is great. Only flaw is the dark interior where the water goes. The coffee is delicious and stays hotter than our old machine.』
(Great coffee!!) 『My old coffeepot went kaput, and being a regular coffee drinker, could not go long without a fresh brewed cup for too long. Based on the reviews of this product, I went with the DCC 1200. The item arrived quickly, w/in 3-4 days w/free supersavor shipping. The packaging/ instructions were easy&straightforward with helpful photos and diagrams. After brewing my first cup, I must say it is some of the best coffee I have had (and I am a Starbucks and local coffee house regular). We have hard water and drink only purified or distilled water, but with the built in water filter in the Cuisinart DCC 1200, we are able to use tap water to make delicious coffee with no odd aftertaste. The only negative is that the clock is not backlit (not a big deal, but would have been a nice feature). Also haven't figured out how to keep the hot plate on for more than the 1st hour from brewing without having to flip the switch to on and start the brew cycle (dry). So far, it is an overall great product!』

(Not very reliable) 『I purchased the first one of the DCC-1200 coffeemaker about 3 years ago. This pot lasted about 2 years, which I thought was acceptable since we always have a pot of coffee going at our house. When it finally died, I bought another one, but after about 7 months, the hot plate burned out. I contacted Cuisinart Customer Service and they sent me a new pot under the warranty. Now after about 7 months again, the replacement pot is not working properly. It shuts itself off mysteriously anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours later. Sometimes it doesn't even finish the brew cycle before it shuts itself off.
I contacted customer service but they said they can only do a warranty replacement one time. She suggested that I unplug the pot for 5 minutes to see if the timer would reset. (Looks Better Than It Works) 『I live in a 1250 sq. ft. open loft space with only a gas fireplace for heat. Upstairs in the loft office I needed auxiliary heat. What I liked about this unit was its looks and its wheels -- it just rolls around the floor quite easily. Unfortunately, the heat it puts out doesn't seem to reach very far from the source. You can feel the heat with your hand a few inches from the panel, but my desk chair is only 3 or 4 ft. away, with the unit behind me, and my back and shoulders are still quite chilled. I'm guessing that the absence of a fan or any radiant elements limits this unit's effectiveness. Bottom line: I'm still cold.』

Sting being Sting, you wade through a couple of dry stretches on this album as on almost any of its level. Yet the gems are gorgeous, enduring glimpses of brilliance. The album's opening track, `A Thousand Years', may be the most splendidly lush love song to be performed in twenty years. Pulsing, obsessed with a love whose mathematics defy infinity, Sting in this profound statement of amour knows only one thing: I still love you.

It is a marvel that Sting can sing with his tongue as firmly planted in cheek as `Big Lie Small World' requires. The aptly named `Ghost Story' is a mesmerizing tale of regret, of love handed over too soon to lawyers who know nothing of nourishing such a child. These are high points on an album that begs to be owned and turned over in the hand, held up to the light, from time to time contemplated for the treasure that is in it.

(Technical perspective) 『I am a Sting fan, and I am not a professional critic. However, I am a musician and a music student, and I wanted to offer a statement from that perspective.
"Big Lie Small World" has nine beats per measure. The ending (and the entirety of the original version) of "Fill Her Up" is in 7/8. Though not on most albums, "The End of the Game" is in 6/4, or some duple equivalent.
The rest of Sting's career is full of odd time signatures - "Love Is Stronger Than Justice" is in 7; "I Was Brought to My Senses" is in 7; "Seven Days" Is in 5; "Straight To My Heart" is in 7.
What was the last song you heard that wasn't in 4/4? Every once in a while, someone may write a waltz, but when it comes to rhythmic structure, the music on the radio is unfortunately the same. It used to be that when I would speak to my musician friends about music, I would ask them if they could play in a time signature other than 4/4. A vast majority could not!
Just imagine if popular music was limited to songs written in a major key, and songs in minor keys were too dreary to listen to. Or, imagine that all chord changes had to occur directly on the beat without syncopation, or else it would sound jumpy and erratic. Worse yet, imagine that electric guitar, bass, and drums were the only popular instruments. What would music be worth listening to?
There is no end to the stylistic elements that can be incorporated into musical composition. The critic on the main page said that the odd time signatures "prevent the songs from grooving." This is a typical opinion, and unfortunately so. But for once, it is refreshing to hear a contemporary artist who isn't limited to common time.』

(Best album of the last decade ...) 『 A strange boast for sure to say that this album could quite possibly go down as the best album of the past decade as it was released in the waning moments of 1999. I wont forget though, that just a few months later an equally strong release by U2 made possible another contender for a spot on that list of unforgettable albums.
Brand New Day though, as commercial as it is, being in everything from episodes of CSI, Cold Case, NBC promo spots and numerous films, was also in heavy rotation for television commercials as well, foremost the Sting sponsored Jaguar S-Type commercial that featured `Desert Rose'. Stranger still, Sting thought that the album might be missed if he didn't branch out and try to cross-promote his new album in every way imaginable. He talks about this a lot on his All This Time DVD, which is a must see companion piece to this album. Looking back now, he's probably thankful for the check but probably believes he could've done without Jaguar's money (actually Ford Motor company).
It would've been impossible for this album to have faded into the background with songs like `A Thousand Years', `Ghost Story' and `Desert Rose'. The latter is actually my least favorite on the entire album and often gets skipped past. So many songs on this disk are absorbing, well-written, absolutely beautiful and in every way timeless.
Sting then went on to create a very bizarre and telling music video for the Brand New Day title cut which put him in the place of a nuevo-like God from a lost episode of Star Trek which actually turns out to be a (you guessed it) commercial for Laundry Soap called `Day' and yes, it's Brand New! The video ends with the great creator Sting taking a header off of a sound stage in front of a green screen into an impromptu-pool and then having a fit. I only describe this now because it seems to play into the myth about Sting's perceived public persona. The music video and the album does play out to be more introspective then it appears to be on the surface in every facet and weathers incredibly well over time, unlike many of his other albums.
Sting's strong point throughout his career has been his writing and his composition which is now much evident here, though his myriad personality takes a lot of his solo work too-deep into the labyrinth of recording and post-production which seems to get too close to a multi-layered Phil Specter or a bad incarnation of Vangelis with lyrics.
Sting proved through the late eighties and early nineties that he was capable of creating throw away and forgettable albums that were just badly managed. His time during The Police showed his profound abilities and seemed like he'd prove to create a promising solo career, but his early solo work showed a lot of overwrought nonsense that most people just cannot bear to listen to, despite the fan boys. It wasn't until he hit a stride with Ten Summoner's Tales that he really began to show what has come full circle on Brand New Day. Brand New Day seems to be the Sting solo album that everyone was waiting two decades for.
I recently read that Sting had worked on `A Thousand Years' for weeks, trying to develop that sound that hits you like a brick wall as soon as the album fades in. Every song, one after another seem, at least to me, equally thoughtful and always engaging. We may not know for sure now, but I wouldn't doubt that Brand New Day will end up as the high water mark for this man's career. If it is, that's not necessarily a bad thing. If he can best himself, the that will surely be something to hear.
As far as the greatest album of the decade ... this will probably hold the number one spot followed by All That You Can't Leave Behind by U2 and then David Bowie's Heathen, and the Killers Hot Fuss and Jay Z's The Black Album which are all equally masterful and worthy of the number one spot in their own right.

As always, he surrounds himself with ultratalented artists: this time around Stevie Wonder, Branford Marsalis, James Taylor, guitarist Dominic Miller, and the prince of rai Cheb Mami, fill the roster.Brand New Dayexhibits about as many musical styles as there are tracks, all encased in dense, meticulous production. The album begins promisingly. "A Thousand Years" pulses atop a lush, two-note foundation. "A Desert Rose" folds trilling Algerian pop into trip-hop. But Sting's preoccupation with odd-numbered time signatures prevents the songs from grooving, while the choruses are yawns. "Fill Her Up" (no, not "Fill 'Er Up"), a country tune, represents Sting at his most self-indulgent. Listening to one of the wealthiest musicians in pop singing "Got no money to invest / Got no prospect / Or education / I was lucky to get the job at this gas station" requires a heroic suspension of disbelief. The song morphs into this gospel number where Sting and a supporting chorus chant "You gotta fill 'er up with Jesus! / You gotta fill her up with life!" (Brand New - Deja Entendu. Unique is the word.) 『Before you write this band off as another pop-punk, three chord act, allow me to slap you. Because you clearly have not listened to this album. This is NOT like Brand New's first album, "Your Favorite Weapon", but instead makes dynamic changes in musical style and lyrically shifts to much more mature themes. It will immediately catch your ear with it's second track, "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades", which features a riffing bassline and spoken lyrics concerning the anxiety of a young man's first time. As you venture further into the album, each song offers something different, and absolutely no two songs sound alike. There is nothing else out there today this unique in my opinion. The songs also all transition extremely well into eachother, and it works well as all the songs seems like a story all mashed into one. Now that I really think about it, this album is like riding a roller coaster. It's non stop, and you have no idea what's coming next.
Song by song review:
1. Tatou: The opening track is only about a minute and a half long, but I like the dark, slow, contemplative guitar line. It sets the stage well for the rest of the album.
2. Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades: Translates to "Thus Passes the glory of the World." in French. As mentioned above, this song's bassline is absolutely great. Picks up fast after the somewhat slow opener. Bound to be a favorite among listeners.
3. I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spin Light: A song that starts off acoustic but eventually builds into a crescendo of guitars. Another great song lyrically, and a catchy chorus.
4. Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't: One of my favorites, just an incredibly unique song. Very intricate musically, and again, you just have to love this band's lyrical style.
5. The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows: Brand New's first single from Deja Entendu. A great, great song that just flat out rocks. Probably the most straightforward song, of course excellent lyrically. The bridge and the opening guitar riff is genius.
6. The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot: Ahhh, here we are. This is my favorite song on the album, and my favorite Brand New song overall. Again, starts off acoustic, and then builds slowly. The way the vocals are sung in this is beautiful. The song is full of emotion, and the bridge part with the dual vocals gives me chills. The music goes so well with the vocals. The soft electric guitar lick during the second verse in between the vocals is simply beautiful, and the lyrics are heart breaking. "You are the smell before rain, you are the blood in my veins..." I love this song.
7. Jaws Theme Swimming: I'm going out on a limb here and saying that this is the most unique song on the album. And that's saying something with how different this entire CD is. The jazz like guitar and bass riff in the verses is truly excellent, as are the lyrics, and the ending bassline deserves many accolades. Another one of my favorite songs from this album.
8. Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis: Starts off slowly, with the vocals being almost whispered into the mic, then after two verses of that, breaks into distorted guitar with a nice riff melody. Great lyrics again. The main melody in the verses is very emotionally moving.
9. Guernica: A song written about the lead singer's grandfather's battle with cancer. To be honest, was never one of my favorites on the album, but as the time goes by I find myself listening to it more and more. Of course, is has great, touching lyrics. But I feel musically it doesn't live up to the rest of the songs.
10. Good To Know That If I Ever Need Attention All I Have To Do Is Die: Yes, it's a crazy title, but there's a story behind it. Will I explain it now? No, don't feel like it. But this song is excellent. Great, mellow guitar opening, lyrically it's about the straglehold record companies try to put on bands. Longest song on the album, 7 minutes to be exact. Great catchy guitar riff in the bridge, and another lyrical masterpiece.
11. Play Crack The Sky: A completely acoustic piece, just guitar and vocals. Towards the end duel vocals come in. To me, this is a song that would go well over a montage of pictures and memories from your life, and when your old you look back on them and hear this song. Like Guernica however, this song took me a little bit to get into. I do really like the way it ends, though.
There is also a bonus track called "Flying At Tree Level". I don't think it's on the original version of this CD, but I'm sure you can find it online somewhere. It's a great, catchy song. A bit more standard than the ones on the album, but good nonetheless.
And that's that. One of my favorite albums of all time. Virtually flawless. I never get sick of this album, either. It just always stays fresh because the songs are so unique. Again, if you haven't heard this album, please do yourself a favor and get it. It doesn't matter when kind of music you listen to, I guarantee this will catch your ear.』

But, after I heard "Sic transit gloria..Glory fades" a few times, I was hooked. Then I noticed how well the songs flowed together and how awesome they were. It may have to grow on you, but it rocks. (Good Album) 『I like emo punk rock and hadn't heard of Brand New until recently. I bought this based on a recommendation from a friend. I like listening to it. It is unique but easy to get in to. This group is more lyrical than I expected from a young band which adds to the CD. Many groups like this can play and scream but the lyrics are weak. Brand New has that element of being clever writers as well. I would recommend this if you like Jack's Mannequin, New Found Glory, Angels&Airwaves, etc.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A Fitting Anthem To The Marines Of Their Day) 『I was looking for a rousing film featuring the Marines and found it in "Halls of Montezuma". Richard Widmark gives an unexpectedly balanced performance as the Lieutenant of a platoon making a landing on one of the island chains leading to Japan. In a flashback, Widmark is revealed to have been a former teacher who helped a student overcome a speech impediment to become his class' graduation orator and when that student subsequently joins his command, Widmark helps him overcome shellshock to find the courage to make the landing featured in the film. Widmark's despondency when that soldier is killed in action then becomes all the more poignant.
Instead of projecting pure machismo, Widmark's role allows him to show that intelligence and psychology had much to do with the war effort of the time. Particularly during the scene where Japanes PoW's are interrogated and when Widmark uses the partial results of the interrogation to determine the location of an enemy rocket battery.
There are fine battle scenes as well, both of the ground troops as well as excellent use of real Navy footage of support ships opening fire on the landing zone in an effort to soften it up for the Marines landing.
The shots of widely separated Marines striding through the front also reveals the homage that later films like "Full Metal Jacket" paid to films like "Halls of Montezuma".
I'd recommend this film as a good starter for anyone wishing to begin building their own World War II library.』
(LEWIS MILESTONE, OPUS 29) 『**** 1950. Directed by Lewis Milestone. WWII, a Pacific island. A company of marines under Richard Widmark's command must find where a Japanese rocket base is hidden. This is a war movie I can recommend without any hesitation. Richard Widmark, Jack Palance in his second role, Karl Malden and Richard Boone give each a very good performance but one must above all praise the mise-en-scene of Lewis Milestone here. Let's admire these travellings of the landings of the Marines or the way Milestone creates the tension by alternating shots of individuals and shots of a company of soldiers. Highly recommended.』
(...."THIS US MARINE FILM IS ....NONPAREIL"....THE BEST!!!) 『...Nowhere, have I set eyes on a better Marine movie than this one...it has so much to offer besides the lethal war scenes...ponder this scene...the Marines leaving the safe sanctuary of those gaping LST doors in their briney wake, even the music puts your in their boots...mulling over in their minds that shortly, this is their last day on earth...[powerful cerebrate moment]...the clanky Amtraks churning up the blue/white sea while racing towards the Line of Departure...all hell is about to blast 'you' out of the water..."Lock-N-Load"...we are crossing the Line of Departure" is shouted out!!!...the US Navy's club-wielding police force is turned loose to do their sworn duty to kill every Japanese Marine on another blood/soaked and palm fringed island...another gem, Widmark telling the Colonel who now wants prisoners, that once you teach Marines to hate and kill the enemy [take no prisoners]...it's almost impossible to reverse an ingrained trait for the lust of killing...the more we kill the longer we remain alive, even when the battle-scarred Marines do capture the enemy as ordered, most want to kill every son of Nippon as expressed by [Pretty Boy and Palance]....a multitude of these Marines have been through so much from Guadalcanal, Tawara, Saipan, Pelilieu, etc...that, they will never survive this endless of endless warfare...Widmark expresses this manic/depressive minsdet very clearly [a very great actor]..in real life Widmark's brother was KIA in the Pacific war...[it preyed on him his whole life]...young Bob Wagner was a Marine reservist in real life...the bellicose Colonel [Richard Boone]was for real, always chewing out non/conformist Sgt Reginald Gardiner for being out of uniform and his outspoken word, but once the rocket base is pinpointed the good Colonel gives Gardnier the OK, and Reggie gets the last word in with, "See, just give the Colonel some time, before he sees it our way"...great punchline!!...star studded cast blends in for a smothering display of Marine camraderie within the enlisted ranks...this Marine movie says alot about the protracted island invasions that dotted the looong road back to Tokyo... and ALL six [6] Marine Divisions FMF gave the Japanese a taste of their own medicine with accrued interest, I kid you naught, indeed..."Give 'em Hell"...."Gung Ho"....SSGT CHRIS SARNO-USMC FMF』
(A tribute to the Marine Corps and their campaigns against the Japanese in the South Pacific...) 『The hate content in war films which had up to this point been reserved mainly for the Germans was now temporarily re-channeled in the direction of the Japanese, and the Pacific War was revived in aggressive patriotism in films like Allan Dwan's "Sands of Iwo Jima," Fritz Lang's "I Shall Return, " Nicolas Ray's "Flying Leathernecks," and Lewis Milestone's "Hall of Montezuma."
The focus of Milestone's film is the capture of a site on which the enemy have set up rocket sites... A Marine patrol is sent out, with orders to take prisoners and bring them back for interrogation...
Much of the movie's appeal arises from its future ensemble cast... There is Richard Widmark, a former schoolteacher who fights the war with his head in a vice; Karl Malden, the medical corpsman who knows what psychological migraine is; Reginald Gardiner, the British-born sergeant, who can speak Japanese; Robert Wagner, the young radio man who kept pestering his fellow soldiers; Skip Homeier, the hotshot 'pretty boy' who is in a hurry to get home; Jack Palance, the protective and grateful boxer who wants his pal as his future manager; Richard Hylton, the student who handled fear once; Richard Boone, the desperate colonel who insists on taking prisoners; Neville Brand, the strong sergeant blinded during a bomb attack; and Bert Freed, the best fighter man but before and after "the no-good money burnin', gin-drinkin' horsehead..."
All the characters solved their hang-ups with bouts of heroism, and Widmark was on hand to lead the last attack with a rousing battle-cry "Give 'em hell!"

It was slow, boring, and I just could NOT figure out what the fuss was about Alan Ladd. But when I read a review for the movie "Branded", I decided to give him another shot. I figured there had to be SOME reason he was among Hollywood favorites. I watched this movie and figured it out. You should, too.』
(a family film in a Western setting) 『Yes, there is plenty of Western-style action in several places in this movie, but this movie is more than that. It's a film that takes the time to develop the large number of relationships that appear in the film: the changing relationship between the two outlaw partners, the competitive relationship between Choya (Alan Ladd) and his "father", the loving relationship between the mother and the man she thinks is her son, and the loving relationship between the "sister" and Choya. It's all too much for Choya, and he rebels and sets out to put things right.
The movie is in a way like a morality play. Alan Ladd once again goes convincingly from being a bad guy to being a good guy. And with Ladd's actual sterling character, you have no doubt that this could happen.
The ending is exciting, tense, convincing and gratifying. You won't find all this is many movies anymore.

Choya (Alan Ladd) finds himself in the middle of a cruel con, and then finds he has a conscience. In Branded, a very good Western, Ladd plays a man who has always done what he wants, a loner at heart. "You got any friends?" an old man asks him. "My guns," Choya says. "Kinfolk?" "My horse."
Choya meets P. Jefferson Leffingwell (Robert Keith), who shows Choya how he can claim to be the lost son of the Lavery family, wealthy ranch owners. The son was kidnapped more than 20 years ago and has never been heard of since. Richard Lavery (Charles Bickford) renews each year a $100,000 reward in the hope of hearing something about his son. Choya and Leffingwell plan to split the reward, and with Choya accepted as the son, Leffingwell points out that in time he'll inherit the cattle ranch as well...and maybe to speed things up they'll even help Lavery into an early grave.
A tattooed birthmark and Choya's own cleverness do the trick. Lavery and his wife, fragile emotionally since the child was taken, and the Lavery's daughter, Ruth (Mona Freeman), accept Choya completely. Then something happens that now drives the movie into a new direction. He falls for Ruth and he is changed by the decency and openness of the Laverys. He decides to redeem himself by trying to find the real son and then disappearing. This sets off yet more unexpected developments.
Branded, in my view, is an excellent Western. There's great scenery, of course, and plenty of action. What gives this movie a dramatic wallop, however, is a strong story, the drama of a lost son, of twists that involve family feelings and the issue of what makes a real father. Not the least of its strengths is Alan Ladd's performance. Ladd may not have been much of an actor, but something about his on-screen personality brought out the image of a loner with a code of honor. That quality of silence combined with strength, of righteousness that could be aroused to do right, is what he brought to his best roles and which still make so many of his movies worth watching.
Bickford, as so often, plays a strong, decent man. Keith is first rate as an utterly amoral and greasy crook. And Joseph Calleia does an outstanding job as a man, like Bickford, who has to decide what loving a son really means.
The DVD color transfer is in great shape. There are no extras.
The theme of a long lost heir who returns and who may not be true is an old one It's always good for a strong story. If you like mysteries, I recommend Josephine Tey's book, Brat Farrar. Brat is the long lost son who reappears and who may not be who he claims. One of the complications is that Brat has a twin...who refuses to accept him.』

Alan Ladd plays Choya, a morally ambiguous loner (asked if he has any friends or kinfolk, he submits "my guns" and "my horse") and falsely-accused bandit who gets pulled into a "foolproof" million dollar scam that involves impersonating the long-lost son of a rich Texas cattle rancher. Needless to say, complications ensue. The villain (Robert Keith) starts getting antsy; the rancher, Lavery (Charles Bickford), and his wife turn out to be kind, decent folks; Choya takes an interest in his "sister" (Mona Freeman) that goes well beyond fraternal devotion; and his conscience kicks in, too. His ruse revealed, feeling guilt-ridden and seeking redemption, Choya spends the second half of the film on a quest to find the real missing Lavery heir (no easy task, as "Tonio" has been raised by a notorious Mexican outlaw)… and, in the end, to discover that what he really wants and needs is the family he's just betrayed. (Great Crime Story) 『I acquired this title with an inexpensive Film Noir set I purchased a few years ago and finally got around to watching it. This is a great crime drama. I don't consider it noir in the fullest degree, like say, Double Indemnity or Scarlet Street, but it holds your interest. The style of masks the criminals wear were an interesting addition to the film - I highly recommend this one.』
(Good, But Tough To Live Up To That Opening) 『I liked this film but I got spoiled with the first 20-30 minutes. It started off so intense that I thought this was going to be fantastic: an incredibly edgy film noir. It still wound up good overall, but it never lived up to that great beginning.
The story slows down a bit once the scene shifts from the heist in Kansas City to the rendezvous of the bandits down in Mexico. It has as a full lulls here and there but still does enough things right to keep your interest.
What it does is right is emphasize two things that a good film noir provides: tension and paranoia. All the crooks are assembled in one spot but only the boss knows who the others are. They don't know what any of the gang members look like since all of the thieves had to wear masks throughout the planning and execution of the crime.
I thought "Tim Foster," played by Preston Foster, was the best character in the film, probably because he was right in the middle of everything. He was a bitter ex-cop and the brains behind the whole scheme.
Coleen Gray plays "Helen Foster," but she doesn't really come into the story much until the last half hour. I mention her because her character did one implausible thing after another, things NO woman would do and softened the rough edges of this movie, which was a mistake. "Helen" wasn't even needed in this film. It would have been better as a straight male only tough film noir.
Speaking of tough: how about this "Rogue's gallery:" Jack Elam, Lee Van Cleef and Neville Brand? Now there are three good faces for this genre of film. They were the other gang members

Seasons 1 and 2 are CC so it's a plus for those needing visual aid to understand the spoken dialogues. I believe the 5th is CC, also. When I watch it and find my review isn't quite accurate, I'll come back and update this review.』

They also recommend that you do the measurements couple of hours after eating/drinking. I used it couple of times and now it is sitting somewhere in my basement collecting dust. I don't think this measurement method is accurate at all since the numbers that it showed me are no way real in my case. I admit I am 10lbs overweight so there is no way I am only 10% body fat. The HBF-306C features two modes -- athlete and normal -- for accurate results. The device is a breeze to use, and it returns measurement results in seven seconds for both Bi method (Bioelectrical Impedance Method) and BMI (Body Mass Index). The unit displays the measured value of your body fat percentage through the BMI method, and indicates the body mass in for ranges from low, normal, high, and very high according to the BMI value.
What is the Bioelectrical Impedance Method? Muscles, blood vessels and bones are body tissues having a high water content that conduct electricity easily. Body fat is tissue that has little electric conductivity. The Body Fat Analyzer sends an extremely weak electrical current of 50 kHz and 500µA through your body to determine the amount of fat tissue. This weak electrical current is not felt while operating the Body Fat Analyzer. The Bioelectrical Impedance Method safely combines the electric resistance with the distance of the electricity conducted. Correct posture and consistent measuring conditions need to be maintained for the best results.
Operating the Analyzer To use the HBF-306C you must first set your personal datYou must first select between the Normal and Athlete modes. To determine if you should select Normal or Athlete, you must calculate your FIT index by using the following formula:
FIT Index = Frequency x Intensity x Time
Frequency is a single digit number from one to five that represents your frequency of exercise. If you exercise daily or almost daily, then use the number five; three to four times per week use four; one to two times per week use three; a few times per month use two; and for less than once a month use one. If you workout vigorously, then you use the number five to represent your intensity level; if you workout with moderate or light effort, use the number four.
Meanwhile, time is a single digit number from four to one that represents the duration of your workout. If you exercise for 45 minutes or more, then use the number four; 30-44 minutes use three; 15-29 minutes use two; and for less than 15 minutes use one. For example, if you run five times a week for 30 minutes, your FIT index would be 75 (5 x 5 x 3 = 75) and you would select the Athlete setting. If your FIT index is greater than 60, you should select the Athlete setting. Any number below would demand a normal setting.
After determining your FIT index and selecting between the Athlete and Normal setting, the remaining personal data is very straightforward. Simply enter your height, weight, age and gender. When all the data is fixed and stored, the analyzer screen will display "Ready," and you'll be ready to take your first body fat measurements.

For my son, I used the absorbent and waterproof PUV type with regular absorbent underpants underneath. That combination was good for about one pee, but they did leak so an immediate change was necessary.
At any rate, the plastic underpants were great for Teddy! I wouldn't use them alone over regular "absorbent" training pants though, because a second layer of aborbency is needed. They might work well over cloth diapers, though.』
