『I bought this album after I purchased Relentless, which I was dissapointed in. This album really got me though and the first 7 tracks fly by because of their depth and for lack of a better term "catchyness." The first 4 songs are particularly powerful but my favorite song on the Album is Good to Go. In so many ways it spoke to things I have experienced in the last year and a half and I related to it.

Any time an artist can touch a nerve or hit on something that you can find personal it seems to make the album that much better. I also saw WHY as one of those songs that many people can relate to. Its so easy to take someone you love for granted and this song is a great reminder not to.』

『Jason is a great talent, he has a superb voice and performance quality, and he is a knockout on stage. This debut album is just icing on the cake. Aldean is head and shoulders above the flood of new country male singers (e.g., Bentley, Currington, Atkins, and even the one dimensional Keith Urban). If you have listened to country radio, you've probably heard Hicktown, Why, Amarillo Sky, and maybe Lonesome USA - but you have not heard the best. Good to Go, a resolved song about a happy and fulfilled life, is a surprising winner and is delivered well, and the trucker tribute Asphalt Cowboy is one of the best in the 'genre' - that song alone is worth the price - trust me. This is a great album - and congratulations to indy label Broken Bow for putting out a much needed boost for country.』

『I got this cd for Amarillo Sky and Why, and I obviously love it, I listen to it all the time. It took a little while to grow on me, but once I started really listening to the songs, I feel in love with them.
Hicktown, the first track is a pretty good song, I feel I can relate living in a smalltown, and it's fast and upbeat and over all really good.
Amarillo Sky is just an amazing song. Another song I feel I can relate to a lot. I love the lyrics and Jason's voice is just amazing in this song.
Why. I love Why. It's one of my favorite Jason Aldean songs.
Even If I Wanted To, this is another really good song. This was one that took a while but now I love it.
Lonesome U.S.A I LOVE this song. It is defintely one of my favorite songs. It's very upbeat and I just love it.
Asphalt Cowboy, this is just an amazing song. The lyrics are amazing and Jason does an awesome job singing it.
Just A Man, this song has an upbeat tempo and pretty good lyrics. It's a really catchy song and really good.
Love I Wanna Be In. This is possibly my favorite song on the album, having felt that way about someone before, I think that Jason does an amazing job and the lyrics are great.
Good To Go, not my favorite song, but a good one just the same. It's not as catchy as the others, but I still like it.
I Believe In Ghosts. This one is alright. It's not great, but it's not bad.
She Loved Me. Another one of my favorites, upbeat and a nice sound to it it's the perfect ending track.

『I had heard Aldean's songs on the radio, and liked them, so I figured I would buy the CD. The first three tracks are the radio cuts, and hold no surprises. The rest of the CD is quite solid as well. My biggest issue is that if you listen to later tracks that Aldean actually had a hand in writing, the vocals pop and come to life much better. The songs aren't as strong, but the vocals have far more emotion to them. I had heard Aldean had paid his dues to now, and this was his break, but in the words of David Allen Coe 'can make folks feel what ya feel inside.' If he can't, he needs to go back to the drawing board. Otherwise, you become an overglorified karoke singer. Hopefully his sophmore effort remedies this, and the producers let the reins loose a bit. Actual rating would be 3.5 stars.』
『It's easy to see why newcomer Jason Aldean scored big right out of the box--"Hicktown," an anthem for the way-off-the-interstate nation, not only captures the pride and the humor of the blue-collar crowd ("Well, you can see the neighbor's butt crack nailing on his shingles"), but was written by John Rich and Big Kenny of Big&Rich (with Vicky McGehee). That might be a lucky break for this Georgian's debut, but Aldean managed to nail four other John Rich songs, including "You're the Love I Want to Be In," which the singer cowrote with Rich and McGehee. Strong songwriting rules throughout, whether the subject is dysfunctional relationships ("Why"), hurtin' hearts ("Even If I Wanted To"), lonely truckers ("Asphalt Cowboy"), or reassessing one's own life in the reflection of a passing hearse ("Good to Go"). Producer Michael Knox tailors Aldean's sound toward one thing--fitting in on the radio--which means he borrows from everybody: "Amarillo Sky" kicks off with a Celtic, Keith Urban-like intro, "Lonesome USA" recalls the gangly twang of "Guitar Town"-era Steve Earle, and the rocking drive of Big&Rich is everywhere. Though Aldean shows promise as a writer, he's no special shakes as a vocalist. But he brings a solid Everyman's tenor to play (think Kenny Chesney), and he sounds as if he's lived every word. (The Movie Where DW Griffith Really Addressed Intolerance!)
『Broken Blossoms actually addressed intolerance better than Intolerance did. It is a smaller film which deals with one story on a heartfelt level. On the docks of England a young 12 year old girl tries to survive her father, a drunken brutal man who beats her and mistreats her. There were not child abuse laws at the time and this film actually created a movement to put laws on the books regarding child abuse. The only sympathy the girl receives is from a young Chinese man who works in a shop near where she lives. He doesn't talk to her just watches her. One day her father beats her so badly she is barely living. The Chinese immigrant finds her and takes her home to care for her. They get along fine until the father finds out and is made fun of by his friends because his daughter's "run off with a Chink". Pride causes tragedy all around. A very nicely realized film and shows how film techniques grew from The Birth of a Nation forward. The extras are great and an introduction by Lillian Gish is not to be missed. She describes the Spanish Flu epidemic and how she had caught it too. We sometimes see silent stars as being something other than human or too old to have been seen talking but that is not the case. Lillian Gish was around until the late 80s. Griffith suffered and died fairly young but it was more tragedy for him. His sound films were not well received and he became alcoholic and living alone in a hotel. Lillian Gish did make sound films though was not a great star in them. Don't forget to buy this DVD. The short story is included too.』

(The Greatest tearjerker of all time)
『I always thought that Imitation of Life was the greatest tearjerker of all time until I seen "Broken Blossums." It touched me in ways that Imitation of Life never could or ever will.』

(A towering pastoral epic)

"Broken blossoms" was the film which conveyed me to fall in love with this expressive and sensual actress: Lillian Gilsh.

Griffith, the master of masters, bet and won with this Dickensian adaptation about the oppression of a frail and sensitive young street woman desperate to escape from her bleak environment. He will be sheltered by a Chinese missionary who shields from his tyrannical and abusive father.

Griffith anticipated himself respect this genre so many told in decades to come. The contrast of lights and shadows confirms why Eisentein affirmed once that all he kenew about to make cinema was due to David Ward Griffith, a giant of the cinema who has not deserved his place among the supreme master of the American Cinema. .

(The bitter-sweet story of two lost souls)
『This film stands out as one of the most beautiful and heart-rending stories ever directed by `the Father of Film', D.W. Griffith, showing that he was versatile and sensitive enough to cover a wide range of films, from poignant and socially evocative short films in early days, to dramatic historical epics such as "Intolerance" and "America". Not only is "Broken Blossoms" a sensitive and deeply moving drama with intense atmosphere and soul-stirring emotion, it also showcases some of the very best performances by the three leading characters who are all perfectly cast in their roles. The 25-year-old Lillian Gish with her girlish face and slender build is ideal in the role of a girl ten years younger but with a "tear-aged" face due to a lifetime of cruel abuse. With the body language of an old woman, Lillian perfectly conveys the frightened bundle of misery that is Lucy, the daughter of an abusive professional boxer who lets his frequent bouts of anger out on his only child. Donald Crisp also uses expressive body language to portray this ugly character very convincingly, but I was most impressed by the transformation of Richard Barthelmess into the role of a Chinese man who is pivotal in this story. With subtle gestures and body language Barthelmess really brings across the gentle nature of this character who is led by Buddhist principles of love and peace, but becomes lost in the harsh world of London's seedy Limehouse district. There he finds another lost soul desperately seeking a ray of happiness and hope, namely Lucy, who stumbles into his shop one day after a severe whipping by her father. Some memorable scenes from this film are Lillian's gesture of forcing a smile onto her face using her fingers because she is unable to smile on her own, and how Barthelmess resists the temptation to take advantage of the helpless Lucy when she is in his care for a few days. Also impressive are scenes of Chinese culture such as some opium dens in the Limehouse district, and the overall solemn mood which feels disturbingly real to the viewer. It is helped along by the original musical score played by a modern full orchestra, and the color-tinting of this very good print also enhances the atmosphere. "Broken Blossoms" is surely a highlight in D.W. Griffith's directing career as well as for the stars, and a wonderful example of silent cinema just before the 1920s era.

(My Favorite D.W. Griffith Film...)
『...and one of my favorite films period. It's not D. W.'s best, that distinction belongs to ISN'T LIFE WONDERFUL (not yet on DVD). I much prefer BROKEN BLOSSOMS to Griffith's mammoth spectacles (which are important historically but are overrated when compared to his Biograph shorts and smaller scale films like this one). What I value most about this movie is how it is able to fully create a completely self-contained world and then draw the viewer into it. The soft focus photography of Billy Bitzer, the original score by Louis F. Gottschalk, and the marvelous performances by the three principals enhance the film's dreamlike quality and bring me back again and again to relive the experience much like the opium users depicted in the film.

Criticisms concerning Richard Barthelmess playing a Chinese character miss the point. The important factor is the character's nature not his nationality. The same can be said for criticism of Donald Crisp's turn as the brutal father. His portrayal is deliberately exaggerated for melodramatic effect (he was asked to make the part as apelike as possible) and it later served as the basis for the facial expressions and movements of the original KING KONG. Lillian Gish delivers one of the great silent film performances of all time which clearly shows why she was the first lady of the silent screen.

There are a number of DVD versions of BROKEN BLOSSOMS out there so you must be careful which one you choose. Anything with a budget price should be avoided at all costs. "You get what you pay for" is especially true of silent film video releases. These are public domain copies which are taken from 16mm second generation prints, usually transferred at the wrong speed, and feature a music score that was tacked on without regard to what is happening onscreen. These cheap copies can easily ruin your viewing experience for the reasons listed above.

Right now there are only two releases of the many available which show BROKEN BLOSSOMS the way it was meant to be seen. The Kino version and the Image version. Neither is a complete restoration as none of Griffith's films have been fully restored. The Kino has a slightly better picture quality and a number of extras while the Image features the original color tinting and score composed for the film which adds immensely to its overall effect. Unless you really love film and want all the extra features, I recommend the Image version for its greater emotional impact.

Although no longer available as a new release, there are plenty of good, used copies to choose from and at a better price too. But no matter which version you choose, just sit back and let this nearly 90 year old film work its magic on you. Think of it as a male version of MADAME BUTTERFLY with a healthy dose of Dickens thrown in. It takes a little work to bridge the gap of time, but if you're willing to make the effort then you will be amply rewarded.』

Griffith was many things: movie innovator, maker of grand statements (The Birth of a NationandIntolerancebeing among the biggest of all silent films), the first American superstar director--the Steven Spielberg of his era. Griffith was also very much a conscious artist, a man who did not think of movies as a mere medium for entertainment but as an art form. The mute evidence of this can be found on ample display in Griffith's 1919 dramaBroken Blossoms, a tragic and completely uncommercial project that proved to be hugely popular. The director's most favored leading lady, Lillian Gish, plays an adolescent girl in London's rough Limehouse district; abused by her father (Donald Crisp), a crude boxer, she is cared for by a poetic Chinese man (Richard Barthelmess). Gish, who had doubts about playing a child (and was not yet fully recovered from a brush with the deadly Spanish flu epidemic), delivers a magnificent performance. Justly famous for her hysterical meltdown while trapped in a closet, she also brings off the smaller moments: her hesitation while gazing at a flower she can't possibly afford to buy is a heartbreaking piece of pantomime. Griffith's delicacy of touch extends to matters of race, as he clearly sides with the refined man from China, who must endure the prattle of white men boasting about traveling to the Orient and converting "the heathen." (It's a pityfest, really)
『I started looking at this a few years ago in a college class. I thought it was far-fetched and self absorbed then, and my recent viewing hasn't changed much. It is just not authentic or believable.』

(Global tragedies, local repercussion)
『Arthur Miller is a play writer who used to analyze big tragedies in its particular repercussion in the lives of his characters. In his work the historical factor is very important, but for how it transforms particular lives. In his last play "Broken Glass" this is not different. The main character Sylvia Gellburg has her legs paralyzed because of the news she reads in newspapers on the Jews being murdered and humiliated in Germany.

Her physical problem affects all her family and strikes her husband, Phillip Gellburg, biggest shame: being a Jew. He has avoided mentioning it all the time, afraid of prejudice and ashamed of his people. However, when Sylvia problems surface, the man must come to terms with something he has denied his whole life. At this point, Miller is discussion not only one's identity, but also the denial of one's heritage. The two characters, Sylvia and Phillip, are the beginning and end of a specter.

Following his tradition of global and local, Miller brings to the Gellburg's home a tragedy that is happening oceans apart and reflecting in their lives. Here, the writer does not fantasize, just like Philip Roth's magnificent "The Plot Against America". Both works have the same historical background, and discuss the same theme. But while the play investigates how the event destroys one home, the novel sees a whole nation being affected.

As it is usual, Miller has populated his play with believable characters. From the dubious doctor Harry Hyman, to Sylvia's dumb sister Harriet, "Broken Glass" surfaces with regular people that could be met on the streets.

『"Broken Glass" is a thriller set in 1938 that personifies the fear that Hitler caused Jews in America. While this plot seems compelling, the story falls a little flat it other areas. This is far from Miller's best work.

When Sylvia suddenly looses the use of her legs, medical origins are unexpected. Yet as the story evolves, we find the cause to be psychological. It is suspected that a fear of the Nazi's treatment of Jews in Germany has caused her paralysis. However, there was something more. Sylivia has lived in a marriage with her husband Phillip that feels empty. They have not consumated their marriage in twenty years when their last child was conceived. Sylvia was raised in a family that coddled her and made her feel secure. Her marriage lacks all of the qualities of the family she was raised in. In a twist that seems out of place, Phillip suddenly dies in the last scene just as he promises to change for Sylvia. This happens just moments after she walks again.

In so many ways, this work does not seem to have the fingerprints of Arthur Miller. The characters are one dimensional and forced just for the sake of discussing one of Miller's most comfortable plots, anti-Semitism. Many of Miller's later works are disappointing. This fits that category.』

『Arthur Miller's play, BROKEN GLASS is an interesting psychological mystery set in Brooklyn in 1938 . . . it is about a 45-year-old woman who suddenly loses her ability to walk . . . there is no medical reason why this is happening; the only clue lies in her growing obsession with news accounts from Germany.

What I liked most about the taped version BROKEN GLASS was the cast, which included Lawrence Pressman, Linda Purl, JoBeth Williams, and the late David Dukes (who I had really liked as an actor) . . . this work was put out by a group called L.A. Theatre Works, which features full-cast productions of complete plays . . . my only regret is that I haven't come across too many other things they've done; i.e., that are available from my local library.』

(Audio CD Version)
『I listened to an Audio CD version of the play and I regret to say that I found it unmoving. The Brooklyn accents of the characters seemed to fade in and out on occasion and they deep dark revelations about their personal lives seemed to be revealed without much emotion most of the time.

I really had high hopes for the drama but felt it was more gimmick than gripping.』

『They are too small and will hurt your fingers. I bought it thinking I would be saving so money to buy it in a package. Half way through taking out my iMacs old hard drive I ended up giving up on these tools and went and bought some decent ones at my local hardware store, and let me tell you... what a difference. It so cheap that I would say do waste your money, but I would say don't waste your precious time with this. A simple 10 minute job could take your hours with this!』

『I've been using this as part of a motorcycle restoration and it's been working great for scrubbing parts that would be tough to get in all the corners otherwise (carbs, cooling fins, etc.). Even with parts that you could normally scrub pretty easily, this one works better since you don't really have to manually scrub and it works a lot faster.
I'd recommend getting the additional brush kit even if just for the cone attachment to work on really complex parts. That one really helped out with the carb cleaning. The larger head in the kit also made faster work of the larger parts that would have taken a lot longer with the smaller standard head.
My only complaints are that it's a little noisy and, depending on how tight the space is that you're working in, the edges of the head can get caught and it'll stop scrubbing. I also wish they sold heads that had brass or steel bristles for scrubbing really old and corroded parts.
However, for just dirty and oily parts you can't beat it, especially considering the price.』

『I'm always skeptical about all things we fans affectionately refer to as "bootleg" whether they are or not. But I've had pretty good luck with buying things like this and after reading the reviews I was sold. I'm glad I bought it now! The seller is great and shipped extremely quickly first of all. But anyway, this is a great show. It's certainly not some shoddy bootleg quality video. This is professional quality. The sound quality is completely flawless!
Bad Liver and a Broken Heart is worth the price alone. As far as the earlier songs like the ones from Heart of Saturday Night, don't expect to hear the versions you might be familiar with. The days of that voice that Tom had just 4 years earlier is long gone. They are hopped-up full-on beatnik jazz versions. So if you dig the Heartattack and Vine and Blue Valentines style Waits then you'll love it. Tom is great and enthralling in every minute of the show. Some of it's kind of funny because the audience looks like they have no idea what in the hell they are watching...lol. You'll see what I mean...it's not the lively crowd from Nighthawks. Anyway, pick this one up if you're a Tom Waits fanatic like me...you won't regret it for a second.』

『"Broken Arrow" is a classic western based on fact. Many of the events portrayed in this film are based on history. There actually was a Tom Jeffords (James Stewart) and a Cochise (Jeff Chandler), but some literary license is taken. This film takes a different view of native Americans. I remember seeing this film in a theater as a child and will never forget it. I was glad to see this out on DVD and is a purchase that I will never regret.』

(Sympathethic View)
『Broken Arrow is excellent, though imperfect by today's PC standards with the blue-eyed Jeff Chandler cast as Cochise. Still, the story is compelling and well-told with a great cast headed by the always great, James Stewart. I write this approximately 3 miles from Tom Jeffords gravesite in Tucson. I have to take issue with the part of Richard Jameson's Amazon review where he states: "Broken Arrow wasn't the first Western to express sympathy for the Indian side in the frontier wars (Devil's Doorway came out earlier in 1950 and filed a more scathing brief on the Indians' behalf). No kidding! Off the top of my head, here are several films sympathetic to Native Americans that pre-date DEVIL'S DOORWAY. As mentioned in another customer review John Ford's FORT APACHE (1948), Cochise is portrayed as an honorable leader, concerned for his people and forced to flee the reservation due to the corrupt management of the Indian agent and forced to fight due to a cavalry commander's (Henry Fonda) arrogance and ignorance. A corrupt Indian agent is again the villain in Ford's SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON (1949). Also, Ford cast Native Americans in both these films as well as many other of his works. Corrupt business interests are clearly the "bad guys" in 1946's BUFFALO BILL and in 1942's THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON. Granted, while painting George Armstrong Custer as sympathetic to the plight of the plains indians is strictly a plot convenience, the plots also make it clear in both films that the Cheyenne and the Sioux are forced into war by broken promises and lies. Chiefs Yellow Hand and Crazy Horse are both portrayed as men of honor, and coincidentally both portrayed by Anthony Quinn. To his credit, Mister Jameson is aware that the first films to portray the Native American situation in the 1800s in a sympathetic light were not LITTLE BIG MAN or DANCES WITH WOLVES. Other than that, I have no opinion on this matter.』

『Stewart plays a scout who seeks to heal the divisions between the Apaches and white men... But while "Broken Arrow" is a perfectly acceptable depiction of frontier struggles, it does not display Stewart to the best advantages... Delmer Daves was competent enough, but he lacked the ultimate virility and intensity of Anthony Mann...

"Broken Arrow" examines, rather intensely and directly, the mistreatment and flagrant exploitation of the Indians by whites in the early West...

The strength of this often lyrically photographed picture which will a1ways have an honorable place among Westerns lies particularly in the touching dignity of Stewart's love and marriage to an Indian girl (Debra Paget). Indian haters, of course, stir up the usual sort of trouble and Stewart's bride becomes a victim with all the consequent poignancy for which the film is best remembered...

The over-wise Chandler counsels him that he must learn to live with his whiteness just as his new friends must contend with their own place in the cosmic scheme of things... Cochise has words of stark consolation for Stewart: "As I bear the murder of my people, so you will bear the murder of your wife."

The most interesting aspect of " Broken Arrow" is not the interracial romance between Stewart and Paget, but Stewart's relationship with Chandler's Cochise... There is intra-character complexity here, as Chandler struggles to overcome his disturb of all whites, and Stewart attempts to comprehend the different philosophy and cultural of the Indians...

Jeff Chandler was quite apt and professional... He was so believable in the role of the Apache chief Cochise that he was to essay it again in George Sherman's "The Battle at Apache Pass" in 1952... Chandler's facial bone structure lent itself to noble, incisive Indian profiles, and unlike other Caucasian actors he did not look out of place... He was even nominated for Best Supporting Actor at that year's Oscars...』

(Breathtaking Arizona scenes)
『Broken Arrow, starting Jimmy Stuart and Jeff Chandler is a superb film about the fight of the Apaches to maintain their way of life as the white man claims more and more territory away from the tribes.

The story takes place against beautiful scenes of the Arizona landscape. We see an ex-army scout by the name of Tom Jefford save the life of young Indian boy who has been shot during a fight with the white man and the boy begins to understand that not all white man are alike, and that while some may be bad, at least this one was willing to stop his day to day activity for the purpose of preservation of his life.

When the tribe finds him, he interferes on behalf of this white man and, in turn, saves his life as he explains to his fellow Apaches how this white man is different. So, the white man in turn, begins to understand that not all Apaches are bad, that they can be honorable and appreciative. To resolve the differences between the Apache and the white man, Tom Jefford learns the language of the Apaches, learns about their customs, ways and beliefs. He wants to meet with their chief, Cochise to see if they can live in peace.

At least he wants to get Cochise to agree that no post-man carrying US mail will be attacked. Correspondence exchanges had come to a stop for the people of the town.

The big day comes when Tom Jefford rides towards the unknown, getting deeper and deeper into Indian Territory in search of Cochise. He has been told not to lie under any circumstances because Cochise is able to see into his heart. As he approaches the chief's hold-out, he realizes that he is not stopped even though many worriers are looking as he goes by and finally, he reaches Cochise.

The men meet and develop mutual respect and in time, a great friendship. Tom walks away with the promise that the mailmen will be respected, even though all other travelers will still be at war. Now, the hard work starts because on both sides, Indians and whites, there are many resentful individuals that try to prevent peace.

The story develops with great challenges on sides, much hard ache and we see how "change' is a difficult subject and how men must work hard to evolve beyond war to live in peace.

But the movie is beautiful, the scenery breathtaking and the acting simply superb, so we sincerely recommend that you do not miss this one!

『Broken Arrow (a lost nuclear missile) takes off as an explosive action-packed movie of treason, courage, and beauty. John Travolta's performance as the rogue USAF pilot Deak is unpredictably terrific. And Christian Slater is the true-blue soldier who has to save the day. Samantha Mathis is plain beautiful. Gun-drawn hesitation on the part of the nuclear extortioners is slightly on the unrealistic side. However, there are lots of awesome chopper crash-and-burns in this film, a prominently incredible one being a military helicopter going down from an EMP.』

(90's action flick)
『Travolta Bad Guy, Christian Slater Good Guy, which is somewhat of a switch, in Heathers he was the bad guy. In any case, Broken Arrow is a slick, action adventure film, directed by John Woo (Mission Impossible 2), which is fun to watch. The action, stunt scenes pretty much makes the whole movie, which also stars, Samantha Mathis. Check it out if you missed this one, or if you want to see it again.』

(By Far John Woo's Worst Movie!)
『Like George Lucas, Woo is the kind of Director that goes a little to overboard if he has a big budget. Woo has directed plenty of excellent action flicks; such as Hard Boiled, The Killer, A Better Tomorrow Etc. But somehow, in exception of Face/Off, all of his American Films are pretty bad. Don't get me wrong, all of them tend to have neat camera angles and great action sequences...But plot wise? Uhm don't think so.

In Broken Arrow, Travolta plays Vic Deakins, A Bomber Pilot that decides to go rogue. He betrays his friend (Slater) and steals two nuclear warheads, which he plans to not sell, but to obtain ransom from them by returning them to the U.S. Government...ok so the plot is somewhat interesting...but the execution isn't. The dialogue is so comic book like, and cheesy. Travolta has always delivered magnificently as a baddie...But here, he seemed pretty gay. Especially the end, how he gets killed by Slater is so stupid...Ugh, I guess this movie could be watched to kill some brain cells. It has entertainment I give it that, but the dialogue and pace is so lame and tedious. Not to mention the way Travolta's character kept destroying the nukes...isn't he supposed to get money from them...Its just whack definitely a rental, not a buy.

Also keep in mind that this DVD is Letterbox, meaning that it has not been released Anamorphic. So if you have a Plasma Screen and have an up converter, it won't work, you would have to view it in its original 480 signal, which looks pretty bad. I would get the blu ray copy...that's if you're crazy to get it. But otherwise just get the bare bones letterbox DVD.

『A vast improvement over "Hard Target" (1993), director John Woo finds his Hollywood niche in this fast-paced thriller. Though it doesn't match the kinetic flair of Woo's Hong Kong epics, "Broken Arrow" (1996) delivers plenty of serial-style action while utilizing the Southern Utah landscape to striking effect. The film's raison d'être lies in the charismatic villainy of John Travolta - who has a wonderful time playing a traitorous military pilot and nuclear blackmailer. Christian Slater's efficient heroics are a good match for Travolta's diabolical cool. "Broken Arrow" is cheerfully preposterous and endlessly entertaining.Classic dialogue: "Would you mind not shooting at the thermonuclear weapons?"』

『Just got Broken Arrow BD yesterday&watched most of the movie.Its much better compared to the normal dvd.The picture is quite good.I got to view a lot of detailed scenes particularly the dark ones ( 2/3 nd. chapter in which John Travolta flies the stealth) which were very hazy in the dvd. The DTS HD 5.1 sound is also a great improvement. The bass is rock solid. If you are a fan of John woo films i would definetly recomend buying this BD.You will dump the normal dvd.』

『This is a great product, it has an icey / hot effect that lasts for hours. It releives pain! It's very resonable in price. What more could you ask for?』

『I was first exposed to this stuff in my martial arts training as an after-exercise ointment to help speed muscle recovery and alleviate soreness. After offering some to a few coworkers, I know have an almost steady business supplying this for everything from backaches to arthritis and tension headaches. It provides a deep, soothing heat that evaporates muscle pain, though I can't speak for its miracle cures on anything else that I've been told about. Its cheap, and a tablespoon or two is enough for a large area. It is water based, so it dries quickly and doesn't feel like slime, but it does stain easily, so take care not to spill it, but otherwise, this is the best I've found.』

Remove the C-clip that holds the old shaft in at the bottom by pulling the black plastic tab 5. Pull the shaft assembly up and out, or press it through from the bottom 6. Turn the shaft upside down and brace the tip on a hard surface 7. Pressing at the center, push the remaining large gear down the shaft, and remove it 8. Slide the sleeve and washer off of the old shaft 9. Pull the end cap off the shaft, you may need to hold the shaft with pliers (this may damage the shaft, so only use pliers on the old one) Installation instructions: 1. Press the end cap onto the bottom of the new shaft (the end that does not have a flat spot on the side) 2. Slide the washer and sleeve onto the shaft 3. Slide the lower main gear onto the shaft, aligning the "D" shaped hole with the "D" shaped top of the shaft 4. Brace the bottom of the shaft on a hard surface, and push the gear down until it almost touches the sleeve (there should be a room for the sleeve to move up and down a tiny bit, but not more than 1/32") 5. The shaft can now be inserted into the body of the helicopter. 6. Clip the C-clip onto the bottom of the sleeve where it protrudes through the bottom of the helicopter 7. Slide the upper large gear onto the shaft 8. Replace your pinion gears (the left pinion gear should mesh with the lower main gear, right pinion gear should mesh with the upper main gear) 9. Replace the rotors (lower rotor first with the notches down, meshing with the notches on the upper main gear, the spacers, the upper rotor, and the rubber capping tube)』

『'B' and I divorced in 1999; she went to New York to lick her wounds and I stayed in Las Vegas to lick my demons. After seven years combatively married the verdict was Irreconcilable Differences. It wasn't a messy divorce, but sooo costly.

After an aimless eight-year separation we decided to try the 'triumph of hope over experience' - reconciliation leading to remarriage. Being a controlling intellectual-wanna-be type, I called for our educating ourselves in all aspects of rejoining. We hit the books.

Only an compulsive like me would count books: Amazon offers almost 1800 books on recovering from and dealing with divorce, loss, infidelity, abuse and affairs. B had her list, I had mine. After doing our homework, we agreed only one book had it all . . .

The book covers insights and advice we agree makes more sense, opens more doors, makes us more comfortable and peels us open to each other. At first it seemed aimed at individual curing, but it certainly applied to bringing together both sides in a marital war. I thought it interesting the authors were men, and stressed only pain-relief and self-esteem while creating a book for reuniting gone-astray lovers, married or single, as well as helping individuals move on if they must. I think the authors created more than they planned to.

It isn't just WHAT How To Heal A Broken Heart In 30 Days says, but also HOW it says it. This book spoke to our hearts and minds. It's real as love. (Frankly, one problem I had was believing in love. Although there's no chapter heading 'Believing in Love', I came away from the book, with B's help, as a believer.) How to Heal A Broken Heart offers many starting points while nudging couples along to get over bad memories.

If you're alone, licking your wounds or trying retie what you and your significant other untied, go ahead, plow through the how-to literature out there. But I suggest reading this book by Bronson and Riley first. You might just stop there; it'd be alot simpler.

Life's more diverse and demanding than check-off lists and psycho-babble typical how-to's offer. B and I now believe in each other. You'll save alot of time and money much better spent on a honeymoon. Get going; it's only thirty days versus the rest of your life.

『Breaking up is hard to do. After my college sweetie dumped me, I got "He's Just Not That Into You" and devoured it. I NEEDED it. Even my guy friends had become consolers and "Maybe he's just blah blah blah". Greg B cracked me upside the skull with a baseball bat. "DUDE! He's just not that into you!" And within a few days of repeating my new mantra - he's just not that into me - I was no longer on the floor dating Ben, Jerry, and Jack Daniels. So when my fiance told me "I love you but I'm not IN love with you, our wedding is off and I need you to move out now," I got THIS book while out driving to cry alone in my car. In one day, I read it cover to cover. Let me tell you... when my ex-fiance first told me all this, I wanted him BACK. And I would have done ANYTHING to keep him. But then Greg B cracked me upside the head again. "You're a SUPERFOX! And He's RETARDED not to see that! But don't waste your time with someone who is such a big enough loser that he doesn't see how awesome you are." *crack* Right upside the head. By the time I was done with this book, I had a new apartment, friends helping me load boxes into my new place, and was packing to move. When my fiance came home from a long weekend away and found me half packed up, with a new apartment, and a new life on the horizon, he suddenly didn't want me to go. Guess what? I still left. We've done this before... you want me to be here and be loving and so forth... then you freak out and try to kick me out and I cry and beg and you take off to go to Vegas for 4 days and then I beg you to come home and eventually you do, covered in stripper glitter and reeking of cigars... and you take me back (always with conditions that I change who I am to be in this relationship and keep you happy) and I'm a rug until you're happy then we're happy and - guess what... it's a cycle. It's not healthy. This time, I'm out. Looking back, I was kind of a b**** on my way out... but I didn't waste tears on a man who wasn't wasting tears on me. And as Amiira said in the conclusion of the book - you never regret NOT wasting time pining away for a guy.』

Go buy Dissidia or wait another month for Tekken 6. All in all, its basically not worth your time to play made-up create-a-characters over and over and over so you can collect their names.

The gauntlet is interesting but not innovative. No story mode, no online mode, no in-depth character bios, no movies, no ability to customize existing characters.. sigh.. just three different ways to play the same game.

(Much improved AI)
『The first reviewer already said most of my points so I will simply add one more point that was not mentioned. I believe one of the biggest improvement I felt was the better CPU AI for Broken Destiny. Here is why:

- I noticed that the AI is more "human like" as it mimics both the good and bad habits of players. When playing the game I noticed the more advanced AI do intricate combos and tricks that I only seen when playing with my buddies when playing the PS3 version of Soul Calibur 4.

- The computer (at least those with the higher difficulty levels) adapts to your movement which means, you cannot use one set of moves over and over to defeat the AI opponent. I noticed that they tend to change their patterns. So if you start throwing a lot, the computer will start ducking to avoid your throws.

- The computer AI itself will check what moves are effective against you and they will spam that move over and over until you block it or you lose the battle. So if the computer notices that you always get hit by low attacks then it will keep attacking low until you change you pattern.

- I do not know how significant is this but if you follow the competitive soul caliber scene you will noticed that a lot of the AI names were taken from real life famous Soul Caliber tournament players such as famous French player, Kayane. Most of the AI moves mimic the style of the these players.

I'm not saying that the AI are better then a skilled opponent, because if you play the AI enough times, you will noticed that the ability for it to adapt is limited and tend to forget your patterns after the match is over. But despite of which, this is the best AI I have seen compared to the past Soul Calibur games』

『Essentially there is no one player story mode, what there is is a long drawn out tutorials mode. You don't unlock characters, weapons, or costumes. Everything is available right from the get go, so if you liked or played SoulCalibur 4 this has everything you could want on a portable scale; minus the Star Wars characters (replaced by Kratos and a new to the series guy) and minus the actual story line concept.

Me being a college student this games fits up to my needs of being able to take out at school or home and play for a short time while having fun at the same time, and be ready to save and stow away quickly.

Even though there is no campaign (one player) story mode like in the others in the series, the graphics are beefed up and the character creation is awesome, just like the previous game SoulCalibur IV.』

『I bought this 2 months ago and my xbox 360 has been working perfectly ever since. When I ordered it, I didn't notice that this comes with the thermal paste (enough to do 2 fixes). The only thing that this kit doesn't include that is needed is thermal paste removal. But rubbing alcohol works OK. That was by far the hardest thing about the fix was removing the old paste. I am sure that the screws and washers could be found for cheaper at your local hardware store, but finding the thermal paste would be harder to find. No stores in my area have thermal paste and just for the convenience of not having to find the right screws and washers is why I bought this. At this price, it is a good value especially if you buy enough to get free shipping.』

(Naruto: The Broken Bond Review)
『-Gameplay

The gameplay is quite fun and is relatively deep for an anime based fighter. There is a blocking and shadow clone system which if you are going to beat the game on the hardest level, you will have to master. Jutsu's are pulled off by holding the left trigger and using the analog sticks which is then followed by a minigame. This is quite fun and captures the essence of the anime, but can be frustrating because some jutsu's minigames are infinitely easier than others(some are just button combos while others require you lock on to the opponents), and some are guaranteed to do some damage, while others rely completely on your performance in the minigame.

-Graphics
The graphics are great for the environments and the stages. Konoha is well designed and is a huge city with all sorts of opponents to fight, as well as places for supplies and food. If they would have added the option to beat up random people, they could have called it Grand Theft Auto: Konoha.

One negative for the graphics are the cutscenes before the match begins. Sometimes the mouth flaps wont match what the characters say, or sometimes they dont open at all. I've also noticed that Kisame's sword goes through his body after the fight.

-Story mode
The story starts with the Search For Tsunade arc and ends with the conclusion of the Sasuke Retrieval arc. In the game, you pretty much travel to different areas and complete minigames and puzzles to get to your objectives. One negative to this is you'll spend alot of time on some of these puzzles and most of these cost you health(if you mess up) and Chakra. Another thing is that you rarely encounter "real" characters and spend most of the game fighting generic ninjas.

-Characters
The game has a solid list of characters, but there are a few notable exclusions from every major team other than Team 7. Shino, Hinata and Kurenai are missing from Team 8. Ino and Asuma are missing from Team 10. Tenten and Might Guy are missing from Team Guy. Baki and Kankuro are missing from Team Baki. Another disappointing aspect is that you actually fight in the story mode aren't playable in versus mode. This includes the first and second Hokage, The CS2 states for the Sound Five, Might Guy(In training mode) and last but still least Aoi Rokusho.

With that said, the game still has a solid roster compared to its competitors on the PS3 and Wii.


-Overall
This is a solid fighting game that fans of Naruto will enjoy. Gamers that aren't fans of Naruto could still find fun in this if they want a fighting game that has elements of an RPG and puzzle games. If you have a 360, and want a Naruto game, get this game.』

『This game is so far one of my favorite games, or any that I have played. The graphics are incredible, and the Japanese voices add to the experience for shippuden watchers. The fighting is awesome, especially the fact that linking combos is pretty easy, and so is avoiding some hits. The online feature is also good, since this is the first Naruto game to have it for 360, and can really challenge you. During the game there are plenty of side missions so even when you finish the story, there's still a lot more to do. Some say that the story wasn't very good because it didn't incorporate much of the series in it's missions, but it is still quite enjoyable, especially when you have to do jutsus to get through areas. Overall, this is a great game, and I highly recommend it for not only naruto fans, but other gamers who just want a good fighting/adventure game.』

『I recently got into the Broken Sword series when i purchased the new Nintendo DS version. I had forgotten how much fun the adventure game genre was! These two classics are a treat to play. The hand-drawn backgrounds and witty dialogue put the point and click transe on me again. These first 2 games in the series follow the familiar adventure game format of exploring, chatting with the locals, picking up every item in sight and wondering what you are going to use it for to advance to the next area. I find these old titles relaxing, you can just chill back in your chair with one hand on the mouse and enjoy an epic yet humorous story. The graphics won't blow you away but they have that nostalgic charm to them. The developers really did a good job of creating character depth for George and Nico (The 2 main characters). You really begin to care about them and their journey. This package is a steal considering you get 2 classic heavy weights from the 90's. Everyone needs to try Broken Sword at least once, Revolution put a lot of love into these titles, install these 2 bad boys and feel the love!』

『Broken Sword 3 makes me sad really, what could have been an amazing continuation of the series falls way short. I think the first mistake they made was crafting the game in a 3D environment. One of the best features of the previous 2 classics were the hand-drawn 2D backgrounds. I feel a large amount of detail was left behind because of the limitations of 3D graphics of 2003. My other MAJOR gripe about this title is the control scheme, what were they thinking? They scrapped the point and click interface and replaced it with a stiff keyboard scheme. Its awful, i mean Broken Sword is supposed to be a point and click game right? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Its border line unplayable unless you connect a controller and map the buttons. While im still griping, i might as well tell you about the new "puzzles" included in the game. Who thought it would be a good idea to make you push crates around in order to advance to the next area? I would be ok with maybe one crate puzzle, but in Sleeping Dragon you can look forward to pushing and pulling crate after crate each level, its sooo much fun!

They were able to hire the original voice actor for George so at least they got that right. I don't feel like the dialogue in this one is as funny or as witty as the previous 2 game either. I also don't really care for the storyline, it just doesn't hold my interest like the first 2 games, but maybe im just pissed off from pushing so many damn crates around. Overall, i can't really recommend this title unless you are a die-hard Broken Sword fan, its playable, but it really just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. On the plus side, it reminds us how the first 2 games are far superior in every way.』

(A very good sequel)
『This game is a must for those who enjoyed the first two games in the Broken Sword series. George and Nico are back again for a very engrossing adventure.

You will need to visit various locations around the world and solve puzzles to progress. Many of the puzzles involve using the right item at the right time. Some of the puzzles involve dragging crates around to form a staircase to get to a high up place. The first crate puzzle was totally confusing, so I referred to an online guide that talked about general strategies. After that I did quite well with them. The dialogue and possible actions have been highly restricted. If you do something 'wrong' or irrelevant you will get one of three various non-committal answers which provide no help to what you did wrong. (e.g. 'It didn't work' 'No way am I doing that' ' That doesn't seem quite right.') I found this extremely annoying, and wish they had scripted more helpful answers.

This game is in 3-D! The keyboard controls are a bit awkward sometimes, and this is frustrating because there are some puzzles where you have to run across the screen to hide from guards. I found this out of the tradition of adventure games and more like an action game. These parts were obviously frustrating to me. Yet they do not overpower the game and don't occur very often. During one part of the game, for example, I thought I wasn't doing 'good enough' in running past one of the guards. In consulting the hints though I found that I didn't even need to be confronting that guard at that point in the game.

I found the story, the characters, the locales entertaining, charming, they held my interest in a good way. This is a great game and in the Broken Sword style. There is especially a puzzle near the end of the game that is a true gem :-) .』

(A good addition to the Broken Sword series)
『This is the third in a series of Broken Sword games. However, you do not need to have played the previous games to be able to play this one. The earlier games will simply give you a little bit of the back story of some of the characters and items in Sleeping Dragon. (I do recommend the other Broken Sword games; Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror)

This game follows the same format as the earlier Broken Sword games, but now has better graphics. If you are new to the Broken Sword games, these games are a sort of mystery/suspense adventure where you have to solve the mystery using your brain. (not simply shooting everything that moves) Any serious "action" is usually played out in a video clip. Playing as one of the characters(George Stobbart or Nico Collard) , you investigate the scene, talk to people, pick up clues, and use items to solve different challenges/puzzles that allow you to progress in the game. Probably too slow for the die-hard action/adventure gamer, this game is more of a mental challenge. Think a modern Sherlock Holmes with a nice touch of modern humour.

For those who are familiar with the series, there are very few changes. One interesting change is that after some of the action clips, your character is given a short time (sometimes only 1 second) to respond to what has happened (usually something perilous) If you do not respond quickly enough, your character dies and you must try again. But no worries, you start at the video clip again, and can keep trying until you get it right.

『The best musical thing about this album is that the three best singers who have been part of the Irish tenors are together, John McDermott, Finbar Wright, and (the stunningly magnificent voice of) Anthony Kearns. In addition, persons of faith will find this album very prayerful and inspiring. I love listening to this CD doing nothing else but sitting quietly and listening. When it finishes I know that I have spent time in the presence of God.』

(How Deep The Father's Love For Us.)
『Stuart Townsend's song, "How deep the Father's love for us" is the single greatest Christian worship song of all ages. It sums up the common theme found in scripture between Genesis and Revelations. In just six simple stanzas, the author has captured the essence of God's plan for reconciling a fallen race by offering his only begotten Son to "Bring many sons to Glory". The "Jesus Trail" is clearly marked in the words of this song, so that they who hear but fail to follow it are "Without Excuse".』

『I'm not that familiar with White Strips stuff (yet) but I have one album and granted it's not their best but there's still something that intrigues you about Jack White. It might be his energy but it's probably more his orginality. Now with the formation of The Dead Weather, it's good to see someone with a keen talent not waste it wrapped up with one band or group. Call me crazy, but I think he very much reminds me of Beck when it comes to creating music that is different, refreshing, nastalgic, raw all in the saw album. (yah, I still call them albums)』

『Although it's not as facinating as the White Stripes, you gotta give Jack credit for his versatility. Most of this is a late 60s time warp, with a modern edge. Some songs bring to mind the Beatles, Bad Finger and the Moody Blues - but again, with a current twist.』

『Forming The Raconteurs was the greatest idea Jack White has ever had. When he realized that his main project, The White Stripes, wasn't going anywhere, he got together with Brendan Benson and the remnants of the band The Greenhornes. The result was something that sounded nothing like anything White had ever done, and it was recieved warmly by critics. The music is a combination of indie rock, blues, and folk with lyrics similar to those of Beck's ("Intimate Secretary," "Store Bought Bones") and it sounds like nothing I've ever heard. At a mere thirty three minutes, the album is extremely upbeat and very easy to get through, and it only gets weak near the end. The album is in no way repetative and every song is unique, especially with White and Benson sharing vocals. For the most part, the music is very light and cheery with the exception of the song "Broken Boy Soldier." Somehow White makes his voice sound like a scary old lady and the song honestly creeps the snot out of me. But in a good way, I guess.』

I thought it was going to be similar to the White Stripes, but it really isn't; there are some similarities, but it has more structure and less of the random loud noises that the Stripes use so much lately. This album has a good mixture of fast-paced songs with a few "poppier" songs mixed in. If you're looking for some good, creative, rowdy music, then buy this album!』

White's in a Middle Eastern mood for the title track as he pulls off a wicked Robert Plant howl, while Lawrence and Keeler excel on the chorus-strong "Intimate Secretary" and the optimistic acoustic rocker "Yellow Sun." Like so many all-star bands before them, The Raconteurs could be one and done. But don't place the blame on this fertile and genuine debut.--Scott Holter
