(The Perfect Wine Charm)

The product fits on my wine glasses fine, they are standard size. Only complaint is that they get in the way when you are trying to carry more than one glass. I knew that when I bought it. Product is good quality and looks just like the picture.
These little gems are twisted around the base of your wine glass stem and are very unique compared to the typical charms. I've received compliments from everyone who's seen them!
I have never been a fan of the standard wine charms. They always have these hokey designs and they bounce around when you are drinking.

These charms have a very simple style that appeals to me and they stay in one place.

The only draw back to the set is that the color system. There are six charms using three colors (red, blue, and green) with a silver accent. So there are two red charms but one has a larger red ball while the other has a larger silver ball. Considering this a WINE charm it is easy to pick up the red one with out first seeing if it is the large red ball or the small red ball. I sound like an idiot... but you see my point.

I wish they had more colors and designs to choose from. I look forward to buying them.

My favorite use for this chain is to hang a briolette or other bead from each of the central small links. You can make a really beautiful necklace, bracelet or anklet this way. Make the central bead larger than the others, and you get a pendant effect, with small beads cascading down the sides of the necklace. Another use for this style of chain is to make adjustable length extenders for necklaces and bracelets. Jewelry that is adjustable in length is more saleable - it will fit more of your customers. We recommend 3mm jump rings for linking dangles to the small links.
Measurements: Large links of chain are 8mm long and 3.5mm wide. Small links are approximately 2mm long.

(Toe to Toe: Mars .vs. Pluto)

Jet Star's Toe to Toe series is always a wonderfully welcome guest on the reggae compilation racks when they are released. It's such a simple but unique idea to pit 2 artists 'against' each other in a back and forth manner and when the right pair of artists are set together, the album can be a wonderful thing, it is of course all dependant on which tunes they get from each artist, but artist next to artist is a very very good concept which the people at Jet Star have been successful with as this, the most recent release is episode 9. Previous editions have feature Luciano&Bushman, Sizzla&Capleton, Sizzla&Junior Kelly and Elephant Man&Vybz Kartel.

This edition features two of the most exemplary of all young Jamaican roots talents, Richie Spice and Jah Cure. Richie Spice has music flowing through his blood as his 3 older brother are all reggae musicians themselves (most notably Pliers from Chaka Demus and Pliers fame). His style is more of a straight forward singing style, however there is nothing at all straight forward about his voice. Spice's. . . simple wail can be both beautiful and regular in the same tone, his style is reminiscent of neither of his two singing brothers both of whom sing a higher pitch when at their best. His style is very out there (thus he is the MARS in the equation).

Not as far out there however as his 'opponent' here. Jah Cure is wayyyyyyyyy out there. I have no idea where he got that shockingly beautiful tone that he sings in. His voice is unlike anything else in all of reggae music and he can make really normal lyrical songs into something magnificent. While he can be (and is often) compared to singing versions of both of his friends Sizzla and Jah Mason lyrically, his voice puts him into a completely different class of roots music.

This edition of T2T is very good. The artists are matched very well. Spice scores very very well on his opener, This Train as well as on the combination with his older brother Spanner Banner, Don't Worry (which I'm frustratingly sure is over a Marley riddim I just cant remember which tune). His most impressive effort, however, is easily the closer Slang a Slang, which is a simple song about some girl but just works on so many levels.

Its difficult not to favor Cure in such a combination however. Take a cursory listen to his Most High Cup Full over the 'Sun is Shining' riddim from Marley and you hear it immediately, its all about that voice. Even when he doesn't make it quite over on a song, such as on Have a Dream on which he does his best Jacob Miller/Ini Kamoze imitation, let any other artist do the same tune and its horrible, its even recorded bad! But his voice bails him out. Check the beautiful Heartbeat over the same riddim which backed Anthony B's hit Mama Forsake You. His best is easily Jamaica, the complete and utter testament to his voice on this album and a powerful statement for the island which in a fair world would back the countless 'Come Back to Jamaica' commercials airing.

Neither artist get to their absolute best material (which is no shame of course) but both give a fair shake of their B+ material throughout the album, which is impressive enough. And I love this idea by Jet Star, I'd love to see more such as Tanya Stephens .vs. Lady Saw, Sizzla .vs. Turbulence (almost inevitable) and Jah Mason .vs. Junior Kelly. Were this an actual competition, its definitely close, but:
Jah Cure by Unanimous decision.

(Great post-punk power pop)

This band is the real deal. Stooges thump and pop melodies that make you wanna jump up and down. This album is a brilliant synthesis of fifty plus years of rock n' roll. The lead singer is a pheomenon, and the guitarist has serious skills. Listen to that guitar solo on Touch. First rate album. Buy it.
They maintain a high energy level, while avoiding the trite repetitions that afflicts so many of today's post-punk bands. Every song on the CD is unique and worth listening to.

I had been searching for my first copy of Alice in Wonderland for the longest time and finally found this one. This is rather a richly designed edition to the Carroll classic. It comes with a necklace too! Alice in Wonderland is one of the few books that have rarely charmed both children and adult readers. The talents of John Tenniel are amazing. The way he draws those detailed pictures is fabulous. AMAZING! There's an illustrator if you had one. The story is so well written. I read this book to my little brothers who love little Alice. They think it is just so joyful. They like the characters, the White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts. They think they are so funny. I like little Alice and the Rabbit myself, if you'd ask me. This is such an excellent book. Grab it while ya still can!

I love the patterns in this book. I have a friend and teacher that will help me with some of the more difficult schemes. I am a fairly new quilter and very motivated by this book. The best part is that I know my grandmother would have loved these quilt patterns, especially the secret garden.
GATHERED FROM THE GARDEN: QUILTS WITH FLORAL CHARM tells how to create and combine blocks with flower motifs, and includes tricks for appliqueing perfect stems, circles and shapes. Full-page patterns and color photos spice a quilting book which stands apart from the norm and is a recommended pick for any needlework collection strong in contemporary quilter's options.

I know this author personally and have always loved her work. This book is no exception. Ms. Lammon has brought those lovely garden items into the house to keep forever by putting them into a quilt.

As with all good quilting books, it begins with quilting basics - nine pages worth. Then there are five pages on the appliqué process. These are followed by eight projects: a Wall Hanging, a Table Runner and six quilts.

Each pattern has a color photo of the finished item that includes the finished block and item size. A detailed material and cutting list are next. Appliqué instructions follow these lists along with piecing instructions. Plenty of graphics are include so you can visualize what Ms. Lammon is saying. Assembling the top and finishing suggestions make up the last of the project instructions.

All templates for the appliqués are included and are given at full size so you don't have to run to the copy store to get started. Don't forget to read the author's bio at the end of the book. Then grab your fabric and "make your garden grow".

WOW! I just got done looking through this great book and I have to say I was blown away. This book is an excellent balance of quilting technical skill and beautiful artistic expression. I've been around quilters for a few years now and these patterns are some of the best I have ever seen!

Whoever this Cindy Lammon is, she has a tremendous gift! THANK YOU CINDY FOR SHARING IT WITH US! After going through these pages, I really felt intoxicated with her passion for quilting and the images of her artwork are absolutely inspiring!

The book can be appreciated by quilters of all skill levels and I think that any person who quilts or is thinking of quilting should get this book. To think that, with a bit of vision, basic supplies, and the knowledge in this book, someone can make a quilt for comfort or as art work. After reading this book, I immediately wished I had some of Cindy Lammon's work in my own home! I'm going to try and get in touch with her and see how I can get some of her quilts myself.

My daughter saw a copy of this in her pediatrician's office and fell in love with it. Charming pictures and a delightful story!
The book is just as I remembered it from my childhood. It arrived wrapped and in good condition. The book is perfect.
If you're looking for a book full of motivatoin and encouragement, "The Silver Slippers" is the perfect choice. This book tells the story of a little girl who loved to dance, but never put her whole heart into it, until one day when the right motivation came along. In her class, they were to have a recital. This made the little girl glow with excitement. When she learned that the best ballerina in the class would be rewarded with being able to be the "Prima Ballerina." For the following weeks up until the recital, the little girl practiced and practiced, trying to perfect her ballet. While her friends did lived thier normal every day lives, the little girl stayed inside and worked extrememly hard. Sometimes the little girl would get down because of how long it was taking to get it right, so her mother got her a pair of silver slippers to hang around her neck. Every time the little girl danced, she wore the slippers as a reminder of the hard work she had done. When the time came to find out who the "Prima ballerina" was, the little girl became very nervous. But not for long, as she found out she got to be the star of the recital. The night came and as the girl got nervous, she looked at the slippers around her neck and took a step out on stage. Her performance was flawless. A true reward for her hard work. This book shows the determination of one little girl, and the reward she got from hard work. It is the perfect book for a bit of encouragement and motivation. Every child should have a copy of "The Silver Slippers."
