Fine&Delicate Sterling Silver Sleek Beading Chain Sold By The Foot, Cut To Your Order - Delicate Sterling Silver beading chain, in a very slender (.6mm) width.
- Choose your length, in multiples of 1 foot. The quantity you order is the number of feet you want.
- NOTE: THIS IS BULK CHAIN SOLD BY THE FOOT. NO clasps or rings included.
- All cut chain sales are final. We are not able to accept returns or process refunds of cut chain. Please check description for measurement details so you are assured you are ordering the right size chain for your project.
How do you use it? See our extra photos for examples of use, made in this way: string the beads of your choice on a piece of this chain, and when you like what you've made, simply squeeze a Beading Chain Endcap (sold separately) onto each end (our fancy crimp cord end in 1mm also works for this purpose). Then you can fasten a clasp (such as a 6mm Spring Ring Clasp) to one end, and a jump ring or split ring to the other. You can even add a piece of extender chain to the end with the jump ring, to make your necklace adjustable in length. Suggestion: If you cut varying lengths of necklaces and end up with some small pieces of chain going unused, you can make some cool earring dangles by stringing a few beads on a short piece of chain, then tucking both ends of the chain into one 1mm fancy crimp (with loop) and crimping. Make sure you like the way it looks before doing any crimping! The chain will fall into a fashionable long teardrop shape, with the beads at the bottom. Then you can hook the fancy crimp loop onto an earring hook. Just make sure that for your other earring you use a piece of chain that is exactly the same length as the first. Ta-daa! Some very hip earrings."

customer 's review (Absolutely Beautiful!) This is a beautiful ornament that will be treasured for years to come. It is much larger and heavier than I expected but I know it will look beautiful on any Christmas Tree or other holiday display. The crystal is of high quality as you would expect from anything created by Waterford. This limited-edition ornament from Waterford is the second to come from the "12 Days of Christmas Collection." Following the famous carol, it features two turtle dove charms that hang from a beautifully cut crystal heart-shaped disc. (Even if you don't like synthesizers)
(Classic)
(REALLY Alt Country)
(this album charmed me senseless) I'm relatively new to the Magnetic Fields: I picked up their new CD Distortion about a month ago and was impressed. Then I ordered 7 other Magnetic Fields CD's and I was a little taken aback. They didn't have the almost Jesus and Mary Chain noise of Distortion. But soon I adjusted to the quirky pop sound of the Magnetic Fields and this CD quickly became my favorite. The Amazon reviewer is an idiot: "But much of this particular stretch of the Fields is lacking in charm, since Merritt's wry stance chafes a bit too hard against the guileless melodies." It a very quirky country sound, full of longing and ache and wry melancholy, and the CD is held together very tightly by the controlling metaphor of the road. I buy tons of CD's and this one is going to be one of my favorite purchases of 2008. I'm wondering how I've missed listening the the Magnetic Fields for all these years! This is a great album, and I won't add anything to what's already been said. I just thought I'd let those who don't much like keyboards know that this is still a totally worthwhile purchase. I'd thought of trying the magnetic fields for a while but never did because I didn't think I'd like the keyboard sound that everyone talks about. They treat the keyboards so much, and warp the sound to make it so it really doesn't make a difference. The songs are strong, and I think he makes sure to never sound cheezy on the keyboard (maybe once.) Anyway the songs are so good that the way it's played doesn't matter. Plus, the keyboards really do sound very good for the most part, and serve the songs well. Guitar fanatics, give this one a try, it's an excellent piece of music. I first heard this album about eight years ago, and I have listened to it several times a month since. It just doesn't get old--the more I hear it, the more remarkable it is. Many people have commented on Merritt's eclectic instrumentation, which is indeed striking. But the really fantastic thing about his music is just how great he is at turning out a tune. The instrumentations are novel, but not novelties, and the tight melodies have the charm and stay-in-your-headness of folk tunes. Stephin Merritt is just so damned smart--and not in a look-at-me-I'm-so-deep or hipster way, but in the understated, constant, prolific manner that makes for lasting songwriting. His lyrics are also smart and moving, even when, as with the 69 Love Songs trio, he insists on claiming they're ironic or meta. He's a master at wry, pithy little lines that stick with you a lot more strongly than most of the abstract, self-congratulatory crap that passes for poetry these days.
I've listened to each Magnetic Fields album several times over--I'm completely addicted to them, in fact--and while there's not a bad one in the bunch, Charm of the Highway Strip does stand out as the most consistently fantastic and aesthetically unified project. Give this album a try. You won't regret it-none of the many people I've forced this on have.
I'm in a Magnetic Fields month, or maybe a Magnetic Fields six months, who knows? Haven't dipped into 69 Love Songs, yet. And that's probably a six month project itself. But of I, The Wayward Bus/Plastic Trees, and Charm of the Highway Strip, Charm is my current favorite. Like the work of Handsome Family, Giant Sand, and Hank Dogs, this country is not going to be crashing into the mainstream any time soon. Made up of equal parts electronic, synth mixes, cello, and something that sounds like a harpsichord (personally I hear more Phil Spector than Abba in the music), every one of these nine vocal songs -- the tenth, Dust Bowl, is an instrumental that can be skipped -- trades on the classic country themes of trains and highways. Only in Merritt's hand they are neither appealing nor romantic, but obsessions that promise escape and deliver only more pain and loneliness. Which, of course, is exactly what defines Merritt. Lonely Highway, with its references to Jackson, might be the fate that awaited Lee and Nancy, Johnny and June, after they got married in that "fever hotter than a pepper sprout." My two current favorites are I Have the Moon (though written eight years or so earlier, it's what Drusilla might have sung to Spike on Buffy after he became human) and Fear of Trains, where Merritt joins the Ramones in having the KKK take someone away, in this case the history of a Native American girl. Next week the favorites are likely to be different. What's certain is that Charm of the Highway Strip as a whole is going to be a very long-term favorite. Seriously, if you are a magnetic fields fan, BUY THIS. You may not prefer the more dark, country, sound of this album as opposed to the often springy 69 love songs, but i guarantee you, there is no way not to fall in love with this album. By my second listen, this album was already sacred to me, and right now it is sitting in its case after my last spurt of listenings, waiting patiently until the time is right for me to take it out again. My nightmare would be to overplay this album. Stephen Merrit's low voice will make you feel lonely as he sings of a girl's fear of trains, or a lonesome highway, but at the same time he soothes you, in making you too feel like an explorer on some vast, endless highway. The songs on this album make you feel that while you may be lonely, it's an almost noble thing to be. Sweet and sour, incurably romantic, and deeply misanthropic, Magnetic Fields' mastermind Stephin Merritt is a one-of-a-kind voice in modern lo-fi pop. This 1994 outing is a bit of a departure, with Merritt taking his trademark ABBA-styled Casio-pop for a spin in the country--literally. Awash in lush, Nashville-ready production, songs like the doleful "Lonely Highway" (which encompasses snatches of the Lee Hazelwood classic "Jackson") and "Born on a Train" are nothing short of thrilling. But much of this particular stretch of the Fields is lacking in charm, since Merritt's wry stance chafes a bit too hard against the guileless melodies. Completists may feel compelled to take a ride, but novices should probably stick to the more urbane journeys offered byHolidayandDistant Plastic Trees.--David Sprague Rerations < The Charm of the Highway Strip >

Poor, beautiful Antinous, sacrificed so that his beloved Caesar might declare him a god, but the fate of his cult and his imperial admirer was one of ruin and despair. And what of the proud Diana and Hebe, champions of womankind, sworn to avenge the suffering of Mother Earth at the hands of a violent Sun. For as the god fell from the sky, the lovers were engulfed in the flames of his anguish. Yet, the willfulness of the pagan ceased not, for woe alsoe befell the black Adepts of swastika mysticism, who in their desire to purify the world in fire and blood were cast headlong into the eternal Abyss. Such is the course and consequences of THE RITUAL. Following this pignant and sensual mythos are music videos by the Gothic groups THIS ASCENSION, ROSETTA STONE, DEEP SIX, HUMAN DRAMA AND TRIO NOCTURNA. It is by their pale ghostly light that the darkest corridors of human thought and experience are explored and made known in sound and vision. And together with the stunning performance of John Koviak in THE RITUAL, Propaganda Videozine Vol 3 attains the sublime.

(A Deep Thought Provoking Film)
(sweet charming movie with sad undertones)
(THERAPYDANCE: "He thinks he's Michael Flatley!")
(They didn't actually see the car crash) How my ratings work: 5 - I really liked/loved it 4 - I liked it 3 - Could've been better/worth a look 2 - Just didn't live up to the potential 1 - Simply aweful
Masgical is the best way for me to describe this films. It's funny, sad, touching, and all around well crafted. I loved the ways they changed the color for the 2 different flashbacks and then normal color of the prestent storyline. I thought it was clever to mix the original short film (which is good in it's own way) with the new film. If you watch this on dvd check out the short film by itself, it has some additional moments not featured in the full length film. There's commentary by co-writer/co-producer/editor/director Randall Miller, co-writer/co-producer Jody Savin (wife of Miller), and actor Elden Henson (who appears in the film and was in the original 1990 short). Everyone gives great performances and the music is terrific. Don't expect the a typical dance film when watching this because it is so much more than that. It's a movie that. It's a movie about loss, love, recindling, and yes dancing too. I particularly enjoyed the way that this film told a story in and out of sequence. The manner for which it flowed was out of the ordinary, which gripped the audiences attention and kept it there consistently. This is what fine story telling on film is all about. The writing was well accomplished with a sense of depth and emotion to each character's personal struggles. This story is about moving on despite life's difficulties and is enriched by the talents of all who were involved in this production. Great cast, great technical qualities...a good, solid film. I never heard of this movie until recommended by Amazon. Looked it up and noticed it stars Robert Carlyle, an actor I have liked since I saw The Full Monty. It is very sweet and charming but also has a sad story. It certainly kept me entertained. "Dance is a very powerful drug" Starts Miss Marienne Hotchkiss."If embraced judiciously it can exorcise demos, access deep-seated emotion and color your life in joyous shades of brilliant magenta that you never knew existed."Miss Hotchkiss concludes,"But one must shoulder its challenges with intrepid countenance if one is to reap its rewards. Are you up to it?"
MISS HOTCHKISS' BALLROOM DANCING AND CHARM SCHOOL is a most unusual look at "guilt as a worthless emotion" and breaking free of the perceived nostalgic memories of the past in order to move forward with life. For many, life stops when a missed opportunity plunges us into regret when we choose the left path instead of the right path. That path may lead us into years of emptiness, loneliness and regret where we fail to connect with another human being. For the folks in this unconventional look at locked away emotion, life has the chance to start anew with the learned-by-wrote introduction "May I have this dance,Miss" and the appropriate response "I'd be enchanted,Sir!".
MARILYN HOTCHKISS is a charming and heart-wrenching look at the 1960's charm school that was to teach children their first and proper introduction into the world of etiquette and social interaction. What is particularly unique about this present 2006 arthouse release is that it is the expanded version of the 1990 short film by the same title.Whereas the original short focused on the pre-pubescent look at the girl/boy-love/hate angst, this present rendering has the adult situation to the same angst 40 years later.Largely, this is accomplished with great success as actors John Goodman,Robert Carlyle,Marissa Tomei and Mary Steenburgen bring to life the fortysomething crowd who, just as children needed Miss Hotchkiss' initial prodding to life and love,so to these middle-agers,stuck at a crossroads of regret and emptiness, still need that first introduction of "May I have" and "Yes I would".
The "new story" is built around a collision that Frank Keane,a widowed "son of a son of a son of a baker" (Carlyle of THE FULL MONTY) witnesses enroute to delivering bread.Keane has become a regret-filled shadow of himself.Meeting Steve Mills (John Goodman) who has nearly cut himself in two in this single car wreck, Keane must keep Mills from going into shock by keeping him talking.Mills was on his way to keep a standing 40-year appointment at Miss Hotchkiss' Charm School and so begins his story of his past (which is the original 1990 short) that has great and lasting implications on Keane's life.Through this encounter. Keane goes to the Charm School to meet the girl that Mills had promised to meet. Once he arrives there, Keane is introduced to the "lonely hearts" of the Ballroom Dancing set.But as dance once unlocked the world of sexual awakening, now too does the "powerful drug" of the merengue, the Lindy Hop and the box-step reopen long closed doors to life and love.
This film could still use a little more polish in the blending seamlessly of the two narratives, but for that fault only, this is a beautifully rendered look at how people allow innocence to slip away and to let "guilt,a worthless emotion" to take its place. There is a world of things to think about in this sweet piece of a film that is full of sincerity and honest emotion.
The DVD contains both the widescreen and standard screen presentation, as well as a marvelous commentary AND the original 1990 short film. This is a film that is highly original and gets all the more "charming" each time you step up to the line and extend your hand and utter, "May I have this dance?.4 and 15/16 stars****+ This DVD's been released for a couple of years. It's already been competently précised by other reviewers. Overwhelmingly, they seem to admire it - as do I. Rather than cover already familiar ground, I'd prefer to take issue with several misplaced criticisms:
1) The "off-putting" title: Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing&Charm School
Anyone claiming the title is "off-putting" needs to cultivate more curiosity in picking their DVDs. That's not to mention recognizing the potential for good-natured satire which abounds in this movie.
Ballroom Dancing and Charm School conventions ARE stilted and pretentious. Young people dread and deride them but (true to the film) they still sign up.
Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing&Charm School's mediocrity and artificial conventions are hilariously but nevertheless sensitively spoofed. It's wry humor never descends to slapstick.
The subtle parallels between "British Bulldog" and the sexes retreating behind the Blue and Pink lines on either side of the hall were a real hoot.
Another delight was Marienne acknowledging her late mother at the beginning of each session, not to mention Frank Keane enrolling his friends from the "Dead Wives'Club" (if I heard correctly). This group was seriously under performing in terms of bereavement healing. Again, one suspects a gentle commentary on group therapy per se. .
As children, teenagers and adults, many of us have been to Dance Academies and their ilk. I met my wife at one. This movie cleverly interweaves the comedy with the drama and the positive, socializing and therapeutic processes which can emerge. As young adults, one of the best ones in our area was run by the North Sydney Police Boys' Club.
The DVD's title actually attracted my interest. As soon as I checked it wasn't a blood fest, I was hooked.
2) Marienne Hotchkiss can't dance properly, etc:
Surely, this was the point. Experts making this criticism flaunt erudition at the expense of recognizing the reality of their local Dances.
3) Unnecessarily cluttered ending:
One couldn't disagree more. Just when viewers thought they were on top of it all and heading towards a Hollywood "walking off into the sunset" finale, a lovely little cameo emerges. It throws one of the main protagonists into an intriguing and completely different context. It was a clever and unexpected touch. The contrast with Steve's boyhood promise mischievously puts "Charm Schooling" under re-examination as the movie concludes.
4) The flashbacks were confusing:
What was the alternative? One of the movie's important strengths was an insightful ability to both parallel and contrast the many adult characters with their formative past.
Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing&Charm School is a gem. It's wry, quirky and insightful. It's original and memorable. If there's any weakness it's the slightly surreal introduction of Robert Carlyle as Frank Keane, the romantic lead. For the first few minutes I thought I'd picked a dud. This was partly due to the cinematography but the story quickly got on track especially when the viewer was spared the detail another spectacular car crash. Any movie where the car crash takes place out of sight, is OK by me, especially when it's a Volvo.
Frank keane is a baker by trade but now a man consumed by his wifes death. When fate intervenes he pulls over to help a stranger in a car wreck a man near death who urgently discloses a planned reunion a meeting with a lost childhood love at a school for ballroom dance. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 07/24/2007 Starring: Robert Carlyle John Goodman Run time: 104 minutes Rating: Pg13 When lonely hearts want to connect, is there any better way, really, than dancing?Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing&Charm Schoolis a sweet indie valentine to dance, and to the connection of lost, broken souls. The stellar cast is led by English Everyguy Robert Carlyle, a widower who believes he's fulfilling a dying man's last wish--to find a long-lost love--by showing up at a Thursday night dance class. Carlyle is by turns awkward, warm, sincere and bewildered, perfectly believable as a man awash in grief yet hoping to rejoin life. It turns out that dance class, led by the theatrical Mary Steenburgen, holds his lifeline. Other strong performances come from Marisa Tomei, Sean Astin, John Goodman, Ernie Hudson, David Paymer, Camryn Manheim and Sonia Braga, all of whom play people yearning for something, some one. Viewers may get distracted early in the film, seeing Carlyle in a dance venue and secretly hoping the soundtrack would queue up "You Sexy Thing," to get to see Carlyle reprise some of his fabulous shtick fromThe Full Monty. But it turns out Carlyle is just as winning performing the Lindy Hop or waltz. And, the film suggests, once the body moves and the soul is stirred--can love be far behind? The answer is: May I have the honor of this dance? Extras include the short 1990 film this feature was based on and an audio commentary.--A.T. (Horrible DVD Quality)
(Missing: Reunion Episode!)
(save the best for last) If you're reading this review then you already know all about Flavor of Love. So I'll skip all the BS and just get down to it. Flavor Flav tries to find his girl and let the drinking, kissing, cat-fights, and all around craziness begin. You know what to expect, lots of yelling, lots of cursing, and lots of what made the first 2 seasons so great.
So if you liked the first 2 seasons, this is a great set to finish off the collection. If you didn't like the first 2 seasons...nothing to see here, move along. Picture quality is fine, although it flips between the full screen and widescreen (for the interviews) way too much. It's like every 3 seconds it's flipping to another format which can be distracting but you get used to it. Sound is uncensored like the other sets, lots of foul words and screaming. Extras are pretty lame with the usual casting interviews, some unseen stuff and others. Nothing to really write home about
Long story short, if you like Flavor of Love at all, pick this up. Great price (got mine for $14.99 I believe) and all the uncensored craziness you'd expect. best season yet, if you like any of the episodes then buy the whole season. This is the longest and said to be the last season. I wish I would have been able to watch the show, but my dvd skipped and froze through out every episode. It became unbearable, and I finally gave up. Hopefully I will be able to exchange it for another one. Until then I give it 1 star... The final season of "Flavor of Love" was quite an experience, not only holding the title for the longest amount of episodes any of the FOL shows have contained, but also due to the surprise ending during the Reunion, already commented upon in other reviews. Flav's "final decision" was a wonderful way to end the series, which makes the DVD's absence of the episode so much more infuriating, no less than the dissapointment I felt when the second season also contained no Reunion Special. The situation is somewhat remedied by the inclusion of a leaflet which states the following: "To Watch the Flavor of Love 3 Reunion Special, Long On to [...]; Enter the Secret Code...." Though this does make the episode available to all who purchase the box set, it is certainly less permanent than actually owning a copy of the special in the DVD format. To add insult to injury, the Reunion has yet to be added to the website listed, simply stating the episode is "coming soon...." (as of June 7th, the episode is now available.) In either case, I truly enjoyed this season and commend Flavor Flav for making the "realest" choice to end his long and colorful history on VH1, but I feel one should be warned of the content the DVD does contain. This hands down ia the best flavor of love yet... the girls were so much better then the first season 1,2 the only bad thing about this is that poor thing 2 was the one that got her heart broken but hey thats tv for you...but all in all this is a must have Studio: Starz/sphe Release Date: 06/03/2008 Rerations < Flavor of Love: Season Three (4pc) >
