I had a great time using the jump rings to attach charms, beads, and my own doodads to the watch to make a fun, chunky accessory. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, as are the accompanying pictures.
The one complaint that I have is that the metallic parts of the watch itself, chain, jump rings, and charms are less durable than I would have liked. Within about two weeks after I completed my watch and started wearing it, most of the silver finish on the chain had worn off, revealing the copper base metal underneath, and that quickly tarnished, too. Whatever silver finish didn't wear away isn't real silver, so it turned dingy gray and wouldn't clean up with a silver polishing cloth. The same went for the charms and watch face. I don't know what the jump rings were made of, but they had tarnished pretty badly and were practically black after two weeks. Given the price of this project package, I didn't expect sterling silver or stainless steel, but I thought that the metal parts wore out a bit too quickly for my liking, especially since I don't have a watch "wardrobe" and pretty much wear the same watch day after day.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed this project enough to buy another one of these books so that I can get another watch to play with (Klutz should make extra watches available the same way they make extra supplies available for some of their other projects), and this time, I have a can of clear varnish to use on the metal parts before I get started. Despite my gripes about the quality of the metal parts, I think that this is a great project for the budding jewelry designer. 』 『Dangle just the right charms from your wrist and you can tell a tiny, sparkly story about your life. If you want to know the history of charms and charm bracelets, their metal markings, and you can only get one book - get this one. This is great for collectors and for people who actually sell charms and bracelets. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Average Product Despite the Hype) 『I hate to rain on the parade of people who claim that H2Ocean is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have a photorealistic tat going right now involving many sessions. My tat artist wanted me to use H2Ocean cream so I said OK. I was a little surprised to see that 2.5 ozs cost $10 but what the heck. I have used this product for three separate tattoo sessions. The first session was very light line work and it turned out OK. I didn't see any difference between H2Ocean and Lubriderm or A&D but since my artist wanted me to use it, I continued. My second session involved a lot of color and layers. Despite meticulous cleanliness and H2Ocean, I got two small areas of infection. I had to blast myself with penicillin to knock out the infection.
The notion that H2Ocean is antibacterial and prevents infection may be a bit overhyped. It didn't stop me from getting a small infection. Quite frankly I think that you are a lot better off with a real disinfectant and some Lubriderm to moisturize the tat. The hype about sea salt and natural to your body is all a bunch of baloney. This is a moisturizer with some vitamins in it. As such it isn't bad but it is not a panacea for all tattoo ills. And it is damn expensive compared to other choices. When the tube is empty, I am back on Lubriderm which I know works just fine.
Also the notion that it helps eliminate scabbing is just not true. My scabbing was probably greater in session 2 than after any of my other tat sessions with this or other tats I have. The body has its own healing cycle and this stuff is not going to change that. You are going to scab and peel with or without H2Ocean so don't be duped by people who tell you otherwise.
It is a nice moisturizer and it is creamy but it isn't worth $10 for 2.5 oz when I can buy Lubriderm or other fine products for much less. Somebody is making big $$$ when they are getting this kind of money for such a small amount of product. And to boot I notice that the list price is about $15. That is ridiculous for 2.5 ozs of non-clogging moisturizer.
