maybe these products get modified for the better over time. mine works just fine. both probes work, my smoker and my grill are close so i put one in the grill and another in the smoker. they pair up easily before i ever insert the probe in the meat.

i dont know how far the reciever works because i place it close to the transmitter.

i have another brand from williams sanoma and the reciever went bad right away. i still use it i just read the transmitter for the temp.

another point if using one probe dont get confused which probe you are reading the temp. from, if you do you will get the results i have read about on here.
The temperature probes are accurate. I double checked by placing them in boiling water, then later in a glass with water and ice cubes. And accurate temperatures, are of course the most important thing. It has preset meat doneness alarms, which you can manually edit.

On the down side, the rage of the wireless feature isn't very good. My living room is right next to the area outside where I cook, and it works okay there, only an occasional loss of signal. But just about anywhere else in the house it's too undependable to trust. The unit has a very cheap feel to it, and the belt clip doesn't stay on. But then, it doesn't cost much either.

I use this on my smoker to monitor the meat I'm cooking, and also measure the temperature at the grate. It works fine for this, but be aware that you can only set a "high" temperature on this model. If you need a smoker thermometer that will alert you if your smoker temperature has fallen, you need a different unit. Maverick makes one called an ET-73.
Received product right away. Directions not very good, does not explain to much on unit. Temperature does not work on base unit most of the time and range is not good at all.
the product is a wonderful idea and has great potential, sadly it's range is so low that I basically have to sit next to the smoker.

The second issue is that it's extremely un precise by about 10-12 degrees, which makes it an adventure to cook food in a save way.
As an avid outdoor chef, I find the Maverick remote thermometer to be a great tool for determining when to declare my meat done. The only minus that I have with the thermometer is the very limited range for the remote receiver. I find it has unreliable connection at distances an little as ten feet from the remote transmitter.

I got this for my nephew (and the pink one for my neice) for Christmas. They are both 5-years-old. My older children also have this safe - they are 15 and 12 now, but got this when they were 5-7. My children still use their safes to store items. As others have said, the knob can be a bit hard to turn. Pushing the door shut seems to help. The alarm can be irritating, but I think we disconnected it on my son's. Overall I like it for kids.
These safe's are nice looking and fairly sturdy. They are suppose to sound and alarm when opened and the alarm on one (1) of the four(4) I bought did not work. Otherwise, locking mechanisms and size are great for kids.
I got this safe and it broke within a week. Also, the "alarm" is extremely annoying. Don't even think about keeping anything valuable in here because the lock does not work at all.
I just received this product in the mail to give to my 9 year old daughter for Christmas, upon opening it, the item looks great, very sturdy looking, then I tried to turn the dial and it was rather hard to turn once it was opened the bell alarm went off constantly until the door is closed.. how annoying, I guess this is not the item I was looking for and am at this moment packing it back up to return it..
We've had this safe for a couple of years and my son loves it. He keeps his allowance and other favorite toys inside. An bell goes off when he opens it. No operating problems with ours.

I got this instant-read thermometer primarily to check internal temp of artisinal breads, but it soon replaced my meat thermometer. It is so quick and, in side-by-side test with my trusty old dial thermometer, it was very accurate. My only issue with it is that it sometimes - not always - wants to read the room temperature for an extended time. That means that I have to remove the battery when storing it in order to save battery life. Minor inconvenience, but it would rate five stars otherwise.
Good product is improved from its older, smaller version. Works especially well when you really aren't sure if the meat is done.
Much larger than picture led me to believe, a bit bulky. Tip is too large to be fast responding. Meat is consistently overcooked.
I love this thermometer! The neatest part about it is that you can watch it go from rare to medium to well done. It is very accurate. I had a Maverick thermometer before and loved it, but my husband put it in the sink in dishwater. DO NOT PUT THIS THERMOMETER IN WATER! The thermometer I had before was a small one, but this is a nice size. You can check a single burger or a chicken breast on a George Foreman Grill, plus you can check a roast in the oven or a pork chop on the grill. In this day and age where meat needs to be done, what a wonderful cooking tool to have.
This thermometer has been very accurate for the wide variety of uses to which I've subjected it so far. This includes not only meats (we're talking steak, hotdogs, salmon, chicken, any kind of meat) but leftovers I microwaved (curiosity) water for proofing yeast (I never followed that part of the recipe before) and even bathwater (again, curiosity.)

I gave this thermometer 4 stars instead of 5 because it is very sensitive. Or maybe it is afraid of the dark. You see, I keep it in a drawer. It really, *really* seems to like being used because every time I open that drawer something bumps against it and I hear the little chirp of my thermometer turning on.

Also, one time I heard a very quiet high-pitched sound and it was the thermometer which was on. I had trouble figuring it out at first, but the sound was so persistent that I finally figured it out. So now I am paranoid when I open the drawer and hear the chirp, that it will stay on and make that noise again.

Not that the remaster makes an incredible difference but it's clearly noticeable. And the extra tracks variate from amazing to interesting.
This is one of the B-Boys best and one of personal favs (though honestly I love em all). But this new re-issue and remastered version is just amazing! And the extra is full of so many goodies it's like a new record just came out! Highly recommended to any B-Boy fan out there!
I'm a big beasties fan, but this one left me wanting more. The recent Paul's Boutique reissue comes with a bonus disc that is pretty good, but this one is kinda lame. The actual Check Your Head album is great, but there's no reason to buy this version instead of the much cheaper single-disc version.
I remember picking up the original CD release back in 1992. While this album is no Paul's Boutique, it brought the Beasties into a new direction. It also put them back on the charts with Pass The Mic and So What'Cha Want.

This new re-rerelease (2009) does sound better than the 1992 release. However, if you do pick up the vinyl, just know that the bonus tracks that are included on the CD re-release are not included. For the price of the vinyl, they could have included another disc with the bonus tracks, or at the very least an MP3 download.
You probally wouldn't expect much from The Beastie Boys after releasing Paul's Boutique. After all, it pretty much was a king of sampling, and there's no real way to top that album, especially since sampling wasn't going too well after the album being released. So instead of panicking, The Beastie Boys decided to employ their own beats more, and add some of their early rock influence, and live funk courtesy of keyboards.

It works, extremely well. Whether Mike D (that's my guess, since he usually played drums) or a sample was backing the beat, I can't help but feel this may be the most organic rap album as far as beats, always heavy, funky, great. Oh, and there's the percussion too. They still sample, but it's not very dominated with samples like Paul's Boutique. Plenty of other stuff, but have a listen for yourself.

They really isn't a bad song on here, nearly all of them rule in different ways. Lighten Up Groove Holmes and Namaste are laid back funk tracks, some of them rock, like Time For Livin'. They still rap and shout over some of the coolest beats made in a rap album, but yeah, there's a lot of variety. There's really not much else to say but to check it out. There's plenty of stuff that would take foerver to describe like this, and I don't feel like doing a track listing because it would be just redundant. Still though, Beastie Boy listeners can't pass this one up. Seriously. Not much else to say anyway.

A couple of tracks look back to their old school rap roots, and they still deploy goofy samples like nobody's business, but they're mostly making their own grooves (including some instrumentals worthy of being sampled in their own right). Their universalist world-view results in some excellent, off-the-wall fusions--the metalloid bump that forms the funk pulse of "So What'cha Want," Sly Stone's "Time for Livin'" transformed into a hard-rock bomber--but they don't have to prove how clever they are any more, and they're stronger and more humane for it.--Douglas Wolk

This is a classic story of every child's fantasy.... having their own money, own house and no rules. It's a very cute show.
I seen this movie along time ago. I thought it was pretty dumb that a man could be so stupid enough to just give give a kid one of his blank checks I mean no one would be that stupid enough to do that. and that kid was such a careless theif he just slipped that blank check in his printer of his computer and typed in a million dollars and cashes it from the bank and now he becomes rich and start living a real lavish life (temporarily) having his own house and all the stuff a kid could ever dream of. The 3 men in this movie were crooks but that kid just got away with alot and he didn't go to jail for that he should. That money didn't even belong to him and he didn't pay for what he did. Well it's just a movie that can never happen in real life. I give it a 0 stars but amazon won't let me.
In this movie a kid gets his bike run over by a guy who stole 1 Million Dollars. The guy who runs his bike over signs a check and leaves the amount blank, so that night he print on million dollars on and cashes it. After he cashes it he spends alot using Mr.Macantosh as the name he fakes. So when he has to pay someone he has no money left and the person who ran over his bike wanted the money back but when he finally caught him he had no money... I wont say any more becuse I guess I'm writing a book on the movie!!!!!!!!!!!

This was surprisingly entertaining and with a few minor exceptions, very inoffensive family fare. It's another one of those adults-and-kids-can-both-enjoy flicks with a number of lines that border on being too much for kids but are still tame for adults - close, but safe. There are also some funny special effects and some good slapstick humor.

Being basically a kids' film, the main child, played by Eric Lloyd is cute but a little too spoiled for me but he's tolerable, as is his brother. Jason Alexander is the father, a very likable subdued guy but a little too lenient.

The real surprise in this cast is Faye Dunaway. Usually playing hard-edged types, she is the opposite in here which is kind of refreshing to see. She shows a nice comedic touch. The chimpanzee is probably the most entertaining, which is the idea, but so is the villain played by Rupert Evert. In other words, there are a lot of likable characters in this movie.

This a "sleeper:" an underrated film that a lot of people would enjoy. I'm sorry it never got much "press."

Full of laughs and a sweet bond with their father.
My 10 yr old son has this movie&absolutely loved it, so I purchased it for my friend's children for Christmas. They loved it too! My friend was glad to get a movie the whole family could enjoy.
I was suprised that I actually liked this. Ape Dunston! It is warm, fun, and slightly zany, and seems not to take itself too seriously which is a good thing to me.

Oh, and "Lord Rutledge" that is a great freakin' name!

I purchased the BD RapidFlex version and found it completely useless. When I first got it, I compared it against an old hospital glass thermometer and the RapidFlex measured 6 points below. I thought the old glass thermometer could be faulty or perhaps I was not using the digital one correctly. The next day I had a doctor's appointment and they took my temperature digitally and I used mine in the very same way, same spot and now it was 8 points below. BD used to be a good brand, and it was the maker of all my glass thermometers, but now they do not even allow you to send them an email as a consumer. I am looking for another brand and returning this one.
I bought this thermometer based on several reviews that I had read and that it had been recommended in Consumer Reports. I have been using this product for about 2 months now for recording my morning temperature as part of tracking my fertility.

Pros: I brought this to my gynecologist appointment and asked my nurse practitioner to take my temperature. Since their equipment has to be checked regularly for accuracy, I figured it would be a good test to see how accurate this thermometer really is. The BD Digital thermometer came up with the same temperature as the clinic thermometer...very accurate!
In addition, it comes with a case to protect the display and keep the probe end from getting dirty between uses.
When you turn on the thermometer it will give you the last temperature it recorded and there is a backlight feature.

Cons: You do have to be more patient with this thermometer than some others out there as it takes approximately 1 minute to get the temperature, but this is part of its accuracy...if it took less time, it would not be as accurate.
Also in order to let you know that it is still working, it beeps every four seconds until it is done when it beeps 3 more times. The beeping wouldn't be so bad, except it is quite loud. I put my finger over the hole in the underside of the thermometer to dampen the noise a bit.
The backlight does not stay on the whole time the display is on. I'm sure it is to save battery life; and since the thermometer does give you it's last recorded temp when you turn it on again, it really isn't that big of a deal for me.

Overall, I really like this product and would buy it again as the cons are not really that bad and the thermometer is so accurate.
After having tried a Walgreen's brand thermometer that was extremely inaccurate (you can check a thermometer's accuracy by taking your temperature two or three times in a row) I am pleased to say that this is an EXCELLENT thermometer and I am 100% satisfied. The beeps are not a big deal at all, but rather an added bonus to let you know that thermometer is functioning properly.
This is the only BBT thermometer that I have used and I have to say that I LOVE it. I am glad that I read the reviews. It took me a little time to get used to the beeping but it didn't keep me from going back to sleep. My husband doesn't even hear it and has never woken up from it. I also love that it records the last temp. read so that I don't have to write it down all of the time right away. I would recommend this product to anyone.
This works great! It is easy to use, has a backlite so you can read it in the dark, the batteries last forever since it automatically shuts off after reading, no worries it saves the last reading just turn it back on. Feels smooth and long enough for both infant and adult use. It is a very accurate thermometer but slow...between 30secs - 90 secs! depending on the times...not ideal for a baby but wonderful for older kids and adults.

I just switched to this thermometer after three years my original one wore out. I love it!! It took a few minutes to set up the date and time but after that it is just press and go to get my son's temp. Thank you for making it so easy!
it constants take my temperture as 94 or 95F, while I used a standard underarm one getting 96 or 97F.
I am very glad I got this as there have been many flues around this year. Why I wrote a review: Mine will not read poperly unless I wipe it every single time I use it. This advice is written right on the thing but I thought (for my own crazy reasons) it was being facetious. It works perfectly when you wipe it with a dry cotton swab every single time you use it. I think this is probably the main reason its receiving poor reviews. Hope this review helps so that when one needs it to work it will.
I bought this for my sick 17 month old. It is difficult to use and every time I take a reading I get something different. I do not trust the reading and will be returning it. Additionally it is supposed to turn off after 1 minute of not being used and it has yet to turn off in 2 days.

This is a nifty little device that attaches to your vehicle's OBDII port under the dash. It is adaptable to most vehicles (visit Scangauge's website to be sure yours is on the list). Interestingly, it interfaces via an ethernet port. I used it on a Ford Taurus, A Mercury Grand Marquis, and a Dodge Caravan. Yes, it displays real time MPG data. It also gives you the average time weighted average MPG. RPM, MPH,and TPS data- no problem. Coolant temperature, Ditto. Manifold absolute pressure depends on the vehicle. Same with intake air temperature. It does not give the actual O2 sensor reading, only if the loop is closed or open. It will definitely teach you skills to improve your fuel economy. Surprisingly, the larger your engine the better you will do because you can take advantage of low rpm high torque situations. I got 29.1 MPG with my Grand Mark using it (Averaged over 65 miles in city, highway and country backroads passing Amish Buggies) Philadelphia to Lancaster, PA. I would have given it 5 stars but the materials it is made with are lightweight and I'm not sure if it will stand the test of time. It is a very useful gadget, and it is a shame we can't hook it up to a laptop to send the data to the state DOT to pass emissions inspection. I suggest ScanGauge look into this, it would probably only take a software upgrade, I know the hardware is up to task. I also suggest they encase it in shockproof rubber to protect it.
I purchased this to help with getting better fuel mileage. It provides instant feedback on what does and does not help. My mileage before using the product was 28mpg. My first tank using the scanguage was 36mpg. Going to work I can get as high is 42 and then 39 on the return trip. Based on my experience so far it will pay for itself in less than 18 months.

The ScanGaugeII includes a diagnostic scan tool that can check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), clear the codes, and turn off the "Check Engine" light on 99% of 1996 and newer vehicles. (However, this feature may not work on some trouble codes in Dodge vehicles.) If any DTCs are found, the ScanGauge will show how many there are as well as the codes themselves. Then you can use the Internet or repair manual to find out which is the failed part is, so you can repair it yourself or know what needs to be fixed at the mechanic's shop.

Multifunction Trip Computer
Four sets of data are automatically recorded on the trip computer: Current, Today, Previous Day, and Tank Trip. The "current" trip restarts after the engine has been off for more than 3 minutes. The "today" trip restarts after the vehicle has not moved for 9 hours, and the data from "today" is moved to "previous day" when you restart the car, so you don't have to reset the computer every time you begin a trip. I would give this case a 5 for being so cushy and sleek looking, but a 1 for claiming to be designed for the Acer 10.1 inch netbook--there's about a two inch margin on threes sides between the edge of the netbook and the edge of the case. With all that memory foam and extra space, it looks like it would nicely protect a bigger netbook.For me, I picked a netbook to be small. I like the fact that it looks like it'd hold my power cord and maybe even a mouse in the front pocket, but that pocket has nothing to do with the fact that the main compartment is oversized. I liked it until I stuck my netbook in there and saw how much too big it is. I'm sending it right back.
I read the previous reviews and were afraid of my Acer Aspire One 10.1 not fitting. When I received it, I tried it right away. it fits PERFECTLY!! if you are considering this case for the 10.1, you should definetely buy it.
Acer 10.1" netbook slim fit pouch could be called too slim fit! once you install the lithium battery, the pouch can barely be zipped shut without fear of tearing the pouch. i believe the dimensions are too small for the 10.1 inch netbook. this may be the pouch for the 8.9" netbook but they do not say so on their site. this is the first disappointment with a product i ordered online via amazon. i am reluctant to order a similar product online again.
My Acer Aspire One 10.1 fits snugly, my portable DVD Burner also fits nicely in the outer pouch. The Netbook fits securely inside and the fabric design is pretty cool. I'm glad I bought this Item.
This BARELY holds my 10.1 inch Acer. Every time I zip it closed I'm waiting for the tearing sound that I know will eventually come. And I can't return it because I ordered it with my Acer and that got delayed for more than 30 days so I'm stuck with this.

The pocket for the charger is what sold me but again, it barely fits in there. Forget holding anything else.

You'd think from the way it is advertised here that this would be a "perfect fit" for the 8.9" Aspire One.

It is not. It is a little too big, and the hold down straps do NOT really hold the computer securely.

Other than that it seems to be a very nice case, though eyelets for a carry strap would be a nice addition. This only has the carry handle.
Small enough to pack anywhere. You do not have to bare the laptop in the airport. It protects it as you travel. Well made and perfect for the task.
This little case fits the Acer Aspire One netbook beautifully. The memory foam provides some cushioning;I don't plan to drop the netbook in or out of the case!! The outer pouch -- very important -- comfortably holds the charger with cord and a tiny, retractable cord mini mouse. I am thrilled it is NOT leather. This case is a great, stylish, Earth friendlier way to carry this netbook. The inner "straps" are good to hold the netbook in place. You can use the computer within the case, a plus. It is made by CaseCrown and is well made. I had purchased another case which was too big, and had NO problem returning it to this same seller (Senyx). They even waived the 15% restocking fee!

For the most part, other reviewers are correct - it is fun and the kids are wowed at first. They all loved it when they first got theirs and enjoyed using it a lot for a while. But eventually the poor design of the door gets really bothersome.

The door hinges on the bottom which at first seems OK. However, when withdrawing money, if there is any significant number of coins in the bank at all, several are bound to get caught in the hinge. Then you are stuck prying them out or the door popping off the hinge entirely. Then you have to lay the thing on its back and drop all the coins back in, re-attach the door, close the door and then stand it back up again. If we had ours mounted to the wall (which is an option) it would be an even worse pain having to constantly take if off the wall.

Of the three we had, the oldest eventually stopped allowing withdrawls and would revert to asking for the PIN when you the withdrawl button. And for the other two, As often as our kids wanted to open theirs and count their money, these just weren't worth keeping. Ours went up for sale on craigslist.

This is a wonderful toy and my kids - an 8 year old boy and 6 year old girl - absolutely love playing with it! I love the fact that it teaches them about the concept of money in a fun, interactive way. The Deluxe ATM has increased their interest about saving money the more they use it. This is definitely a great purchase!
Santa brought this ATM for my 5-year old son this past Christmas. He wanted it very much, and was so excited to receive it. He loves to keep his money there, and to put in his allowance or other earnings. He takes out a small amount whenever we go to a garage sale, etc., and puts back what is left. Its pretty cool, but its hard to work. We lost the card that came with it (on Christmas Day!), so we've been using other cards (almost any firm card the size of a credit card will work). But these other cards don't "stay in" very well - I'm not sure if they original did, as we hardly had a chance to use it -- so you have to hold it in while you do a transaction. Even with someone holding it it for him, the transactions can be flaky -- coins not recognized at all, recognized when partially inserted, or occasionally recognized as the wrong coin. When you put the bills in, you have to type the amount -- that's fine, I'm not expecting bill recognition, I knew that in advance. But the problem is, that you have to either put one bill in at a time and type the value of the bill in EACH TIME, or you can cleverly put in say, 5 one dollar bills and type in $5. It knows to only accept "real dollar" amounts, so to put in $4 in bills, you have to insert the bill, type in $1, insert another bill, type in $1, etc., etc. This is just silly. Bills also get stuck occasionally.

All that said, my son still really likes it. I would probably (??) work better with the original card. My son has just gotten used to the fact that we sometimes have to "correct" the balance (by taking some money out and reinserting it, or by pretending to take money out). I would not recommend this for someone who wants to really keep track of their money and who is not going to be patient about such things. As a "toy" or as a "piggy bank" with quirks, its okay.

My 6 year old likes this ATM and has fun knowing how much money he has in it. I searched this type of product online and not many of them had good reviews. So maybe this is the best there is for a kids' toy.
Be warned, however, that it doesn't hold a LOT of money (in coins, anyway.) The money is all stored behind that rectangular door at the bottom which is only about half as deep as the machine itself. When you get very many coins in there, the next time you open the door to make a "withdrawal" (you open the door, take some out, then type in the amount of you removed), they all come spilling out before you can shut the door again. It would be great if the money was sorted somehow or dropped into a place that would not fall out.
Also, this machine does not count $2 bills.
It's fun, but not very impressive.
Nice concept. Love the sounds and look BUT it doesn't work as described. Possibly we just received a defective one. Would not keep track of coins inserted, so the count was off.

I purchased this product for my business checking account. My incorporation took longer than expected, so I did not attempt to use it until 6 weeks later. It would not work, I tried all the suggestions (obviously they have issues with these) and finally gave up. (they use empty HP cartridges refilled) Since it had been 6 weeks since my purchase, they would not exchange the item or refund it. What a bunch of BS

This robe arrived on time and was ths the color and material ordered. The only thing I didnt like about the robe was the size. The large/xtralarge size (which I ordered) had sleeves 4 inches too long, so they had to be shortened. It seems to me four sizes ought to be available: small, medium, large and xtralarge, instead of two sizes which combine small/medium and large/extralarge.
Well worth the money. A very comfortable, soft flannel robe that my husband loves!!
I expected quality from Liz Claiborne, however, this by far exceeded my expectation! This robe is perfect, I bought as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it. Not heavy and real flannel and is VERY soft. I am VERY pleased with the purchase at such a great price!
