It's not realistic to expect a band to have such inspired topics to write about without sounding dated. The delivery of their ideas may not seem up to par, but you can tell they're still the same band. The music may not be as energetic, but it's more interesting all-around. "Which Way" is a departure from the usual singing and, while not everyone may enjoy it, it's an interesting attempt to expand their sound. "En El Aire" has some of the best simple rhythmic coordination I've ever heard (the timing of the shouts with the of the rest of the band stopping). There is no "Anger," nor "Empower," but the average song is better than those from each of the first CDs. In the end you have a socially conscious band improving as musicians and perhaps delivering a little duller of a message.』

These guys should have taken only two years off; their musical direction has changed from 'mosh-core' (see early BIOHAZARD) to a sort of nu-metal/rock thing. The clean vocals are awful, Rey (singer.) There is also some rather humiliating dancehall/reggae type vocals done on a few of the songs. Furthermore, the previous release by this band was the best so far for the variation of fast thrashing hardcore songs and heavy mosh grooves. CHECK YOUR PEOPLE has, if I remember correctly, not one fast hardcore/punk song on the album. Thats quite upsetting to me folks. Interestingly there are some AC/DC like hooks thrown here and there on some of the songs like that of 'Together.' If there was some 'saving grace' to this album it would be Rey's lyrics which maintain their social and political stances which were still under development of the last two albums. This overall is a bad downset. album.』
(what a dissapointment!) 『I followed this band's career from their first album, and I loved both that, and their second CD. But with this one, something just hadn't clicked in my head, for I fail to see anything worth mentioning here. Everything that has made Downset such a good band to me is gone here, no passion, no inspiration, no softly spoken words delivering the message (like there were so many on their 1st CD). Instead we have a clear nu-metal influence plastered on an old-school-hardcore base, and vocals that try to sound angry, instead ending up sounding tired. And, if that is not enough, Ray Oropeza even tries to sing clear on a couple of tracks. And what an awful attempts these are!
To give this album some credit, I found only 4 songs (of 13 total) that I like, that remind me of their early glory days. Call me old-fashioned, or close-minded, whatever, but I can't give this one more than 3 stars. 3 stars here meaning mostly indifference.
Hope this is not their final CD, and Downset will succeed in exiting in style, just like RATM did.』

(Useful tool for weight watching) 『I bought an earlier edition of this book in 1999 and have gotten a lot of use from it. I initially used it for calorie counting (I lost the 35 pounds I needed to lose and have kept it off), and when I turned vegetarian I was able to look up protein amounts to make sure I was getting adequate nutrition.
The lists break down foods by the amounts of Calories, Fat Calories, Protein, Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium and Fiber in each serving. An item such as an apple will get multiple listings: 1cup, slices: canned, sweetened, sliced. drained, unheated; 1cup, slices: raw, with skin; 1 cup, slices: raw, without skin, cooked, boiled, and two other listings for apples because the nutrients vary according to the way the things are prepared.
Sometimes the amounts are hard to figure (Tofu, 1 piece, 13 g) and I have to do a little arithmetic or consult an online source for an easier way to measure the food. Overall, though, I've found it to be fairly comprehensive (the newer edition may be more so), and the counts jibe with other sources.
For foods that don't already have nutrition labels on packaging -- fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, and so on -- this guide is handy to have around the kitchen, saving trips to the computer to find out how calorific some food might be. (If I were a complete health nut I'd also be watching my sodium and fat intake, but being mostly vegan, that's probably unnecessary.)
Most people don't seem to have the anal determination to calorie count, or the curiosity to find out if their nutritive requirements are being met, but if you are concerned or curious about your health in regard to the foods you eat, this is a helpful guide for the basics.
An ideal book of this type would also list minerals and vitamins per food item. I have to check other sources to make sure I'm getting enough calcium and iron, for instance. But I still use this book almost daily to check calorie amounts.

We can add another tool to the arsenal, this one by Grant Baldwin. It's the type of guide I wish I would have had when I graduated many moons ago. Covering issues as college classes, financial aid, and relationships. He's not very preachy, which will be accepted by many teens, and yet the advice seems to be sound. I think every student should read a book like reality check to prepare them in the best way for what their future will hold.』
(The Life Skills Needed For College and Beyond) 『Grant Baldwin has produced a books that is accessible to the audience he tries to influence - that teenager preparing for college (as well as a host of other things). Unfortunately, most of today's young adults do not read very much and authors can have a tendency to write above their heads. Baldwin writes at the average senior in High School - freshmen in college level (actually, one could argue he has written at a 9-10th grade level).
He provides some websites on scholarships; but, his best advice here is that one should not "overlook" the smaller scholarships that maybe provide only $200 or $500. Often, parents and their children are looking for the large scholarship; however, college is often paid for with multiple smaller monies.
His sections on friends, family and relationships, while brief, is helpful. Topics such as breaking up, sex, and even when/if one should move back with mom and dad are discussed. None of these chapters are preachy, because with this thin skinned generation, this is probably a good tactic. Instead, he briefly, yet pointedly, discusses why one should wait until marriage to engage in sex. He does not take just a minimal approach (avoided STDs, etc), but seeks to show the benefits of waiting (he uses him and his wife as an example, and in not a superior way either).
All in all, a nice quick resource that the average student can read (and it is organized as such that it doe snot need to be read from front to back, but as a question arises). Purchase this for your High School student so they can prepare for college and the book briefly seeks to provide tips for the "future" beyond college and the real world. 』

Endless login screens: every time I attmept to print checks - either in native window or from Quicken, I have to go thru a series of login screens, even if this is within the same Quicken session. In the software native window, the "back" button logs you out (unexpectedly) and you have to login again. 2. The apperance of printed checks is different from what you seen in check designer - text is misaligned, extends beyond printable boundary etc. 3. Using paper with 3 checks per page, be prepared to waste the whole page even if you print just one check: the software prefills another check on a page with your personal info, byut without the rest of check graphics, making it unusable for either future printing of manual writing 4. worst of all - every time you quit the software (e.g., finish printing), the computer is frozen for half a minute

It requires you install 2 programs just to print, does not allow "real" print previews (you can "mock up" something in the print design program). The only way I will be happy is if I manage a full refund. What a horriable dissapointment this program turned out to be.』

The software is easy to use and does offer some nice features. In particular, I like the ability to add pictures to your checks.
I wasn't as impressed, however, with the actual check paper. The check book kits were a good idea and easy to use, but the paper is not perferated well enough. A high percentage of the checks ended up ripping as we were pulling them from the book. This was true no matter how slowly or how carefully you removed the.
