("You can get an American to buy anything...")

Okay, so they're not very original in their sound, and the Teenagers may turn over the same tricks more than a few times, but there's no denying the appeal of their kitschy debut album. The lyrics are hilarious and biting ("Aspirin and alcohol are not enough to die, Nicole"), and the production - if somewhat repetitive - is tight; the songs hold together fairly well. This album reminds me very much of the Francois Ozon film "Criminal Lovers" - trashy, stylish and sexy. Delicious.

Key tracks: "Homecoming," "F*** Nicole," "French Kiss"
Or at least that seems to be the theory this French band is pushing with this album.

Bland beats and lyrics fittingly filled with all the profanity and none of the subtlety or insight of a true teenager.

Their stupid, sneering anti-Americanism shows that these cultured continentals have spent too much time sitting in front of the tube watching American re-runs and thinking that "The OC" portrays American teens as they really are.

The most interesting thing about this album is it's unintentionally ironic title. They condescendingly proclaim their album to be a mirror for the American listener, when really what it does best is expose their own naievete. Not surprising though, since isn't most hate spurred by ignorance?

To buy and listen to this album is a true excercise in self-loathing for any American. These guys hate us with every fiber of their being. So if listening to how much you're despised set to overly repetitive beats and derivitive New Order guitar sounds like a good time to you, then go for it.

Consisting of three lovely French 20-somethings, lead singer Quentin Delafon, guitarist / synth man Dorian Dumont and bassist Michael Szpiner, The Teenagers are a band that could have only come from Paris. Their sound is built around a backbone of golden pop melodies, with a penchant for leftfield visioning - all enveloped in a sardonic wit and lingering Sofia Coppola soft focus. They are easily one of the most intriguing and unique musical properties to tease us in 2007. While the trio left their teenage years a few years ago, adolescence is a concept that cuts to the core of the group. They're in love with the idea of the dreamy teen, inspired by sunset walks through the park, clogging up shopping malls for no good reason, holding hands, and stolen kisses in the cinema.

I Hear A ClockI was introduced to Jon about 2 and 1/2 years ago by my partner and have followed his career ever since.

I have seen him live on a couple of occassions and have met him personally. He is definitely the real thing. The songs are written from his heart and he performs them the same way.

"I'll be there for you" was written for his wife but many a passionate man or women could imagine playing this for their love.

Hopefully with the release of this album, John will finally realize the success he has been chasing and people will get to also enjoy many of the wonderful 'from the heart' songs that were on his two previous albums.

Michaels is a Nashville songwriter and performer whose songs have been recorded by Clint Black and Tracy Lawrence, and whose own performances have been showcased weekly on the PBS show "Chistina Cooks." His third self-released CD offers original ballads and mid-tempo numbers that favor the warm vibrato of John Denver, but with a hint of Raul Malo's romantic flair. His music is exceptionally easy on the ears, but unlike Nashville's cross-over product, Michaels leans to adult contemporary rather than pop or rock sounds. The result is surprisingly moving and devoid of the practiced artifice of major label country product. The lyrics may be a bit tender for the average male country music fan, but female listeners will appreciate Michaels' sensitivity and openness. He sings of his need for companionship, the extended ache of a break-up and his mid-life realization that his own biological clock is running out of time. He sings several love songs to his wife, provides a folky three-minute autobiography on "Chasing Dreams," and bounces in the tropical sun of "Shangri-La." His sly blues "Mother Trucker" provides one of the very few thematic segues from Kay Adams' "Little Pink Mack," and he turns upbeat for the bluegrass paced "Who's Fooling Who?" The album closes with the touching "Until We Meet Again," co-written with Dinah Brien after her mother's passing, and sung by Michaels' at his own mother's funeral. Though Michaels is quite sentimental, he's also completely earnest, which keeps his songs from turning to treacle. If you approach this as adult contemporary, along the lines of John Denver, Jim Croce, or James Taylor, but with country inflections, you'll find much to like here. 3-1/2 stars, if allowed fractional ratings. This is a classic story of every child's fantasy.... having their own money, own house and no rules. It's a very cute show.
I seen this movie along time ago. I thought it was pretty dumb that a man could be so stupid enough to just give give a kid one of his blank checks I mean no one would be that stupid enough to do that. and that kid was such a careless theif he just slipped that blank check in his printer of his computer and typed in a million dollars and cashes it from the bank and now he becomes rich and start living a real lavish life (temporarily) having his own house and all the stuff a kid could ever dream of. The 3 men in this movie were crooks but that kid just got away with alot and he didn't go to jail for that he should. That money didn't even belong to him and he didn't pay for what he did. Well it's just a movie that can never happen in real life. I give it a 0 stars but amazon won't let me.
In this movie a kid gets his bike run over by a guy who stole 1 Million Dollars. The guy who runs his bike over signs a check and leaves the amount blank, so that night he print on million dollars on and cashes it. After he cashes it he spends alot using Mr.Macantosh as the name he fakes. So when he has to pay someone he has no money left and the person who ran over his bike wanted the money back but when he finally caught him he had no money... I wont say any more becuse I guess I'm writing a book on the movie!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really easy to use, with clear instructions. Besides, it also provides information about Hepatitis C. The results are fast. At first, I was a little scared to do a blood test by myself. But with clear instructions, it wasn't as hard as I thought. It's cheaper and more convenient than doing the test in the lab.
Very easy. Didn't even hurt. My results were ready in five days.
This is a good product. Collecting the blood is not fun, but not too painful. The cost is pretty high, but if insurance doesn't pay, it would be a good deal. The results came back in the stated time and were easy to understand. A lot of what they say is to check with your doctor though, so it's not something that's entirely independent. It does give you a way to check for Hepatitis C with confidentiality.
I've never used a home test like this, and was pleased with how easy it was. The instructions were thorough and written in both Spanish and English. There were plenty of pictures to show you how to do each step. The test is completely confidential, and I never felt like my privacy was at risk. Also, the test is simple to do on your own. You don't need someone there to help you, but if you need help or have questions, there's an 800 number. I had only two complaints. The first lancet I used didn't prick my finger -- I don't know if it was my fault or its fault, but I had to work up my nerve to do it again. Also, when I called to register my PIN, the phone call was LONG, which was a pain. I had to answer several survey questions about myself just for their research. Overall, this was a high quality product.
I found this product to be very easy to use. I liked the anonymity of the registration process -- the only information I had to give the company was the PIN number on the test kit. The instructions were very thorough and walked you through every step of the process. There was also a very informative booklet about hepatitis included. Although I needed only one, I was glad that the kit included two sterile lancets for pricking my finger. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to do it right, and knowing that I had another chance was good. I think that the whole process of registering, testing, and calling the registration center to get results was very easy. The only thing I didn't like was that if you lose the small card that your PIN number is written on, there's no other way to retrieve your results.

In "Murder Checks Inn", North Carolina innkeeper Alex Winston is trying to stay afloat financially while re-building his historic Cape Hatteras lighthouse turned bed-and-breakfast. Alex finds himself hosting a cantankerous group of guests, including a mother and her two adult children who have come to Elkton Falls for the reading of the will of their eccentric ex-husband and father Matthias Trask. But the will reading never happens, because Trask's will turns up missing from the law office of Alex's Uncle Jase Winston, and Uncle Jase is found bludgeoned to death with a paperweight. Amateur sleuth Alex tries to find his uncle's killer in this charming cozy. In Alex's mind, no one is above suspicion in this murder, not even his own brother Tony. Alex also tries to sort out his romantic feelings towards his lovely housekeeper Elise, who seems to reciprocate his feelings as well.

Author Myers has done a great job of creating a wonderful inn located in a lighthouse located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Reading these books makes me ready to check into this homey inn and enjoy a cozy stay. Cozy readers will enjoy this book, whether they are familiar with this series or not.
Hatteras West Inn and Lighthouse is always a surprise to visitors. You usually don't see a lighthouse in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Alex Winston, Innkeeper, loves this place. His father had it built because his mother loved Cape Hatteras.

The Trask family checks in. Cynthia, her daughter Ashley and her son Steven are only here because it is the only way to hear Mr. Trask's will. But, Mr. Trask's lawyer, and Alex's uncle, Jase Winston is murdered and the will stolen before it could be read.

Alex calls his brother Tony. Tony comes to stay at the Inn for the memorial service. Alex and Tony don't get along too well.

In the midst of everything, Elise Danton's fiance moves to turn. Elise is the housekeeper at the Inn. Alex is very interested in Elise, but doesn't want to interfere since she's engaged.

As Alex starts looking into his uncle's murder, he begins to question everyone. Could one of the Trask family killed Jase. Who else had a motive to kill Jase? Alex discovers a lot of information and has to sift through everything to find the killer. In the meantime, many things start happening and Alex knows he's getting close.

This is a very enjoyable series. I love lighthouses and like the idea of a lighthouse inn near the mountains. The scenery is very inviting. I would love to stay at this Inn.

Alex is a wonderful character. Very likeable. He enjoys his work, but the downfalls are shown as well as the good times. Elise is somewhat of a mystery. She's described well enough, but to add to the story, Alex doesn't fully understand her. I think there is a lot there to be discovered in future books.

I love all the characters in the local town. They are very realistic.

I highly recommend this book and the whole series.
Alex Winston is a nice, accommodating kind of guy who owns and operates Hatteras West, an inn centered around a colorful lighthouse located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, far from its Atlantic Coast namesake. What with demanding guests, financial difficulties, woman problems and a gathering of the Trask clan to read their father's last will and testament, Alex has his hands full.

His load becomes even heavier when his uncle, the Trask family lawyer who has been like a father to Alex, is found murdered in his law office. Who could have possibly wanted to bash in the head of the genial old eccentric? Tim's brother Tony, who was about to be written out of the uncle's will? Julie, a surprise Trask heir from the wrong side of the blanket? Perhaps the lawyer's secretary Nadine, the only one who can decipher the old man's handwriting. Or Vernum, the shy and shaggy gardener who hides from Tim's guests.

Tim Myers' Lighthouse mysteries are the coziest of the cozy, and Murder Checks Inn, the third in the series, is no exception. By now, the lighthouse setting has become familiar to readers, and no longer offers the surprises of book one, Innkeeping with Murder. Instead, Myers maintains interest by peppering the pages with suspicious characters, each with a more compelling motive than the last.

Cozy mystery readers are a forgiving breed. If the characters become a trifle homogenized and the solution a wee bit formulaeic, we don't care. Alex Winston is just such a gol-darned nice guy, and we really care about what happens to him and his charming inn. By the end of the story, Alex' life is heading in a satisfying direction and we look forward to what future books in the series have in store.
It's not many people who live and work at a place that means everything to them but Alex Winston is one of the chosen few. He works and lives in a lighthouse motel, the Hatteras West Inn and Lighthouse located in the small town of Elkton Falls, North Carolina. The guests he serves always entertain him and he currently looks forward to the Trask family reunion. However, when they check in, he realizes they are not on vacation but are there for the reading of a will.

Alex's Uncle Jase is to read the will to the grieving family, the wife Cynthia, the daughter Ashley and the brother Steven but he is murdered before he can. The only item missing from his office is the will and that makes the Trask family members prime subjects. A previous unknown but acknowledged daughter also is one of the beneficiaries of the will and she too is considered a suspect. There is one more questionable person that must be considered. Alex's brother Tony desperately needed the money that Jase left him in his will. Alex is determined to find out who is uncle's killer is even it means risking his own life.

MURDER CHECKS INN is so colorful that readers would like to take a vacation at the lighthouse motel depicted in the novel. The scenery is picturesque while the story line is fast light and entertaining. The support cast adds an extra touch of color to the tale. The protagonist is very likable and he knows all the suspects have viable motives, which makes him even more determined to find the real killer.
