Though quick to give a reading, this thermometer is useless. It typically reads one to two degrees low and can give different readings just moments apart. I got sick recently, and quickly found I couldn't trust it at all.
I bought two of these, and they were off by 2 degrees! And then one died all together within the first week. What a waste of money!
The thermometer tries to be "speedy" and gives faulty readings. If you take three readings in a row, with a minute in between, its reading can vary by an entire degree. I've NEVER gotten the same reading twice in a row. :-/

In order to get a valid reading, I have to take 4 readings and average them. In my opinion, this defeats the purpose of it being "speedy".

Go with another brand ...
I was shocked to see that other people have had such bad experiences with this thermometer. My husband went out and bought 4 different thermometers including this one because we have four kids and our thermometers seem to always be missing when we need them. This thermometer reads the fastest and it's got a color coding system so if the temperature is normal it shows green, if it's a low fever it's yellow and if it's a high fever it shows red. I love this! Plus the numbers are big and easy to read. This is the thermometer I always look for now when my kids are sick.
I thought this was really cool at first. Used it about 10-15 times and it stopped working. Got it for $10 at Target. Wish I could take it back. I do like the light-up features, the soft stick that goes in your mouth, and the large read-out. If only it lasted longer. Could be the battery, but most of my batteries for any thermometer I've ever bought have lasted several years before needing to be changed...even after being really sick for months and having to take my temp several times daily ...so either way, that's a major inconvenience. I also felt like my other thermometer was more accurate...I would get several different readings with this one. It boasts 8 seconds and while it is WAY faster than my old thermometer, it's not 8 seconds.

the pendant light is "art glass" and each art glass item can't be identical. Yet differences in the colors and patterns of the painted glass betweeen each light was very significant. too significant a difference for them to look good together.

This is an incrediblr piece of new wave, gothic, and doom all combined to fit a moody flowing album. This is all produced, and Performed by James Allin. He writes all the music and lyrics. From the first second you put it on you are overwhelmed by flowing tunes, the lyrics are very poetic, and his vocal rythms fit the album well. Throughout the album there is a constant soft background drumming, for the foreground music. He is reasonably talented in guitar, bass, and drums. But what most amazes me about this album is that it is done by one person. EVERY track is solid, and there is not one moment of boredom on this whole cd, it starts strong with Shillhoette of Mind, possibly my favorite song on this album, and progresses through transitional instrumentals, (Arcanum Hall, and The Myriad Will Culminate are great songs, both involving woman vocals)to the end, last song, Ascension Passage, another great one. The crunching guitar solos often remind me of all tiamat's albums, past there live album(sleeping beauty) and mark high on my favorite disc range. Also it sounds quite like Pink Floyd at its lighter moments with, especially with the poetic lyrics, and usage of rythm in his vocals. I recommend this album to any fan of rock!
firstly it was a great cd from start to finish reminding quite a bit of Tiamat with their"wildhoney"and"A deeper kind of slumber"sound. The fact that this Visionaire project is done by one man is simply astounding. At first few listens i was wondering a bit about how much I liked this but then it really started growing on me with the moods presented. I would recommend this cd if you really like Tiamats wildhoney and A Deeper kind of slumber as Visionaire fits perfectly into that mold. This cd certainly has the depth and talent to continue where Tiamat left off. I would have given this 4 1/2 stars if I could.
I like this CD a lot. The first song starts off a mood of a depressive floating state of mind and introduces some nice crunchy guitars to add spice at the right times. This is for fans of Goth, Rock, Pink Floyd (you can hear a heavy Pink Floyd influence throughout Visionaire, only make it a little heavier and doomy)."Fragmented"and"Conquest"are heavier songs to snap you away from the moodiness for a while until James comes along and transforms your mind state with his excellent writing and structuring skills. What can I say? This thing needs a few complete listens before you can capture all the depth on here but once you do, the mysteries will unfold! A must have for sure.
A mesmerizing CD that will put the listener into an unknown world. Masterfuly blending the styles of gothic and doom, with the ethereal sounds of a new age. Visionaire will appeal to many, including those pink floyd fans who wanted something yet a little deeper. And perhaps a little darker.....This band has opened the box of enslavement and cares not for rules or an orthodox style. Unlimited is the only rule in this domain. The vocals are clear and ominous, akin to bands like pink floyd and paradise lost. The guitars range from heavy and dark, to light and airy. The keys soar through ancient dimensions. What lurks behind these 11 songs remains a mystery. Only one thing for sure, you will feel the melody and melancholy sifting through your mind as you're pulled into the world of Visionaire.

There's nothin' like your first. Once I heard them I was permanently hooked on punk rock. I sought them out and saw them live about 5 times back in the day and another 3 or 4 times in the 90's. This cd contains their 3 7"s (for the uninitiated, vinyl records sometimes called eps that were sometimes singles and other times had a number of songs as you could fit up to 14 minutes on one). Those records they released are, in my opinion, and I'm a massive punk rock, uh, consumer/enjoyer/punk rock for 29 years, 3 of the finest ever made. They crackle. You get the great opportunity on amazon.com to actually listen to about 1/2 the records listed on the site and, fortunately, this is one of them. Tell me if you've ever heard anything like this? It's fresh, minamal, sharp and tight. 3 UCLA students who hit a maybe semi geek groove which is too narrowing, still, they weren't leather jacketed GBH fans type guys. They remained true to who they were and continued to over the decades. Funny thing is, in person they're rather low key. But on stage they just tear it up. Personally, Ack, Ack, Ack, Ack is the finest punk rock song of all time. When I'm a Bug comes on or I hear them do it live that also just sets me off, punk rock explosion of tune and music and energy delivered with a certain joy and abandon. The lst 11 songs are from the lst 3 7"s and they have a stripped down feel to them that I've simply never found anywhere else. I'm always impressed when music still sounds great to me decades later. I don't sit around and listen to the same musician(s) daily or weekly or monthly or even annually. But in the ebb and flow of listening, they keep zinging me when I get back to them. Thank goodness for this collection. It includes some live stuff that's not not up to the same crispness as their 7"s material but that and other unreleased studio songs are still welcome cuz you just don't run across a band like this every day, in fact, there's no one like them and any song I can get from them, I'm happy to hear it. I had the good fortune of getting to see this great band live more than once. For me their straight ahead approach on stage was even more impressive than that of Talking Heads or Television, two of my other favorites from this time frame. The tunes are oh so simple and to the point. Or are they?

I used to think the later 100 Flowers (same band) recordings, once available from Rhino on CD and now sadly out of print, had more bite and focus. Today I prefer these versions of the repertoire recorded before the band became serious and polished. (It's all relative.) The first dozen cuts here are not to be missed, though some of the bonus material is a little hard to take. Then again, just the title, "Orange Anal Sin" is worth the price of admission. I do remember "Mr. Encore." It bugged me then too and I didn't even know it had a name.

Is this disc enjoyable only to those who experienced the band live way back when? No, not at all. What you have here is a classic and unique bit of garage rock / pop / art. If you love Wire, The Buzzcocks or Monochrome Set by all means buy this CD. It will make you very happy.
So pure, so fresh sounding 20 years later... true DIY spirit in a band that blossomed into 100 Flowers (one of the best bands of the 80's). Worth the price alone for the 1:09 of"Sex"... plus, there's an accoustic version! Hot Damn Tamale, this is the real thing. Put this on and let it rub all the pleasure centers of your brain...
I saw these guys live recently--living punk legends but without all the nostalgia baggage. Punk before it was thrash--when it was still quirky and anything could happen. This CD grabs that weird little live sound--what it sounds like when guys record in a shed somewhere--fueled by nervous energy, creative genius, and strange creepy angst. Black Hole is my favorite. As the title says, check it out!
Punk the way nature intended. And it goes like this,"Johnny got his gun and ack ack ack ack".

This is very bad software it tell's you that your bank will take these checks NOT NOT they will only take them if your printer has MAGNETIC INK and then you cannot even find this ink unless you have a lase printer . Well written book with a very nice chapter list...so you can look up specific topics as you find necessary.
this is a funny but also serious read. it gives advice on all borrowing, to dining with cheapskates.
if you lend this book to anyone in the borrower or cheapskate category, make sure you get a deposit from them. preferably the same amount the book cost, because you will probably never get it back and have to buy a new one.
This is a great book for anyone with a friend or family member that has money issues that they can't keep to themselves (in other words, it's a great book for just about everyone!). I highly recommend it.
We all face problems with friends and relatives in borrowing and lending money. Bequests and gifts can also lead to acrimony that shatters families and friendships. This book explains, with humor, common sense, and the results of well-thought out surveys, how to resolve those issues and, more importantly, how to avoid them in the first place. I highly recommewnd it to anyone who wants to avoid the friction and ill will that can result from dealing with the everyday money matters we face in our daily lives.
I am part of the camp of people who are often flummoxed over money issues concerning family/friends/co-workers/neighbors/etc. Reading the insights in this book about all-too-familiar situations compels me to have it on my person at all times.

The book includes questions and advice a la Dear Abby but is of course about all the gray areas we encounter when we loan/borrow money, break or make fiscal promises, inherit (or hope to) money - you name the situation, and it's in the book!

What's particularly fascinating is that authors Fleming and Schwarz include quick snippets of research results (most of the research they conducted themselves) about people's experiences and attitudes around specific money and ethics situations. The data isn't so heavy-handed that you feel like you're reading a social-psych book.

Most of all though, I love the no-nonsense advice that was also peppered with humor and wit. Makes for a really fun read.

(Not really what I hoped for)

i bought this for my husband so that we can fill it out together about places we go to eat. its a good way to document what you liked/disliked about a restaurant and whether or not you would like to return. i can also see us using this book in the future to decide where to have dinner. as for the actual product, it is a small spiral bound notebook with pages to fill out. it seems to be of good quality, but time will tell.
The cover is reminiscent of a bill from a diner, so it's casual, but charming. The format of this is concise and well-thought out with space to put the name of the restaurant, type of cuisine, overall rating, price range, "must order items" and what to avoid along with some space for general comments. It is small and will be unobtrusive to carry along on your outing. I gave this as a gift and got feedback that the recipient was very pleased!
Did you read the "fine print" and notice this was a spiral-bound book? I didn't. I really hate spiral-bound journals, too!

Aside from that, it just really isn't that interesting. The journal pages are nice, and well done, but the cover seems juvenile and cheap in person. I really wanted to get a restaurant journal for my boyfriend for his birthday (because we both really enjoy eating out at home and on trips), and I'm sad that one of the presents I have for him is this book. It just isn't what I was hoping for, but it is a place to start, I guess.

I hope to find a better restaurant journal out there. Any suggestions?
