(Definitely not their best - but definitely worth buying)

If I had to pick my favorite three songwriters from the many brilliant pop/rock based artists that have graced this planet, Smokey Robinson, Paul Simon and Curtis Mayfield would probably top the list. Curtis had such innovative arrangement ideas, thought provoking lyrics, and an absolutely mesmerizing falsetto. (That's not to mention a truly unique guitar playing style that was solely perfected by himself, and Marv Tarplin of the Miracles).

In any event, Check Out Your Mind was the last Impressions album with Curtis captaining the ship. Along with the title track, this record has six or seven very strong songs that fit right in with how Curtis' writing had evolved at this time. There are two throw backs to the the Impressions early 60's material, and only one song from the ten, (Madam Mary) that doesn't work for me.

Conversely, the same can not be said for my opinion of the second album on here. Although Curtis had officially left the Impressions, he still fully produced and penned six of the eight tracks on Times Have Changed. With Curtis' solo career in full swing, this album almost comes across like he's distracted. There is absolutely no continiuity through the tracks and only one song, (Our Loves Goes On and On) I would place in the strong category. The remaining tracks range from decent to marginal at best.

At the end of the day, this is definitely not the first place you want to stop to familiarize yourself with Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions. Outside of One By One, any other album in their entire catalog would do the trick. But once you've been hooked in by one of the most talented and overlooked groups and need to hear it all, you won't be disappointed with this purchase. Check Out Your Mind is a very worthy addition to the Impressions superior catalog, and is an album that has been out of print for far too long.

On that note, I think it is important to give a big salutation to Rhino and American Beat for their commitment to reissuing vital recordings such as this, when they know it's not going to be a best seller. Thank you for allowing us to hear this wonderful and important music again.

DJ Premier is Primo when it comes to comp lp's. This is the best underground rap comp I've heard. They sure are charging a grip for old DJ Premier stuff these days. Limewire Pro has all of it. It's very tempting. However, other sites such as MusicStack have some of these old comps for better prices if you're a collector. DJ Premier has many old school colaborations and comps worth checking out. My favorite projects of his are his colaboration with Group Home on the song 'Suspended In Time' and his work with Showbiz&AG on songs 'You Know Now' and 'Next Level' off the album 'Good Fellas', another overpriced OOP album. His compilation 'Crates' or 'Premo' series are also great. They're full of old school and some new gems you probably haven't heard. 'Crates Vol. 2' is the best I've heard if you can find it. Happy listening.
Even though Premier doesn't lace the tracks on here, he definitely shows why he's the greatest DJ in the game. The mixing and scratching are flawless on this and the way it's formatted, you feel your listening to an underground show on the radio. With that said, the lineup is superb too. There's L Da Headtoucha, J-Live, Company Flow just to name a few. All real MC's, not the fake crap like 50 Cent, or I guess at that time Puff Daddy, aka Diddy. Great beats and flows, and great work of blending and mixing, which show's just how talented Premier is. And the one interview where DJ Premier speaks about how there are times where he's down to his last buck or so, and if it's choosing between getting food and getting a 12", he'd get the 12". That show's how much love he has for the game. I didn't quote it exact, but that was the gist of it. Anyways, this is a must have. Now, someone said they hope they get reality check 202, I think it may be out there. All I know is, I hope it's not like his Holiday Massacre cd. That sucked. It had 50 and G-Unit and Bun B. What the f--k? I hope DJ Premier goes back to cd's like this and not the Holliday Massacre, because this cd represents the DJ Premier we all came to love.
One of the dopest compilations ever, mixed by the illest producer in hip hop. I highly recommend you cop this. Its with out a doubt one to keep in your car at all times.

The Looney Tunes: "Reality Check" DVD compiles the second half of the webtoons, exclusively produced for the Looney Tunes website. I eagerly waited as these toons premiered, and then disappeared from the web during 2003, in anticipation of "Looney Tunes: Back in Action." As "Back In Action" was released on DVD, so were these compilations ("Reality..." and "Stranger than Fiction!").

The folks who are ripping these DVDs a new spindle hole are missing the point: These DVDs are NOT representing themselves as "Classic Looney Tunes," and certainly an uninformed/underinformed consumer would NEVER mistake this product as a repackage of the classic toons. YES, they are flash-animation based, HOWEVER, the audio is cleaned up from the original flash files, and is nowhere near as ear-piercing as they originally appeared on the internet. Those who gripe about these DVD sets obviously don't wish for the classic characters to be animated any longer, and are supportive of such other series as "Loonatics: Unleashed," the ultimate rip-off of the Looney Tunes legacy. To have the classic characters appear in NEW material, regardless of method of animation is fantastic! These DVDs should have sold out of their initial run, inspiring Warner to perhaps take a look at their Looney Tunes property a bit more closely.

The voice acting is NOT as bad as portrayed by these one-star doubters. In fact, some of the top voice talent available was tapped for this series, not the least of which being the all-star Joe Alaskey! Again, those negative reviewers are not taking in to account that nearly ALL original Looney Tunes voices were done by Mel Blanc, who sadly has not been with us (let alone speaking!) for many years now! The voice actors chosen for this set (as well as much of the new Looney Tunes animation) have been first-rate.

Could the negative response from these sets have been the reason why the new theatrical shorts have been appearing on overseas products (see "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" Australian version) instead of here in the states? Probably not, but if this sort of response keeps up, I'm sure Warner will turn its shoulder to the Looney Tunes as far as new property goes in the future, and continue producing the "Golden Collection" disc sets, and little else.

The gags are brilliant on this set, and the pairings are not likely to be seen elsewhere ever again (unless they release a new volume of webtoons, which I'm eagerly awaiting as well!). You be the judge, however. Certainly, many used and NEW copies are available from amazon.com and Amazon sellers - give them a try! What have you got to lose, save for a little shelf space between your Golden Collection sets?
I rented this for a dollar last week, and I want my dollar back!
The other reviewers have done an excellent job of bashing this abomination already. The "Survivor" take-off had one laugh (I now forget what that was, the rest was so bad), but the rest was unfunny. Fans will have noticed the occasional plagiarism of classic LT lines such as "I'm only twee and a half years old", but even these were placed in contexts that didn't make a lick of sense.
If you must buy this DVD, please burn it and send the ashes to Warner Bros.

It comes with a lancet device included (Accu-Chek Softclix Lancet Device) and 10 lancets but no strips; therefore, in order to use it even once, you must buy the strips. I bought the Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucose Test Strips and they work. Given that 10 lancets last only ten times, you are better off buying lancets right away. Careful! You must buy the Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets (the Accu-Check SoftTouch Lancets will NOT work).
Once you have all your equipment, you do the following. Every time that you buy a new box of Strip, you must put the microchip in the monitoring kit.
The routine is very easy: load the lancet device; load the strip in the monitoring kit; use the lancet device to make a tiny prick in your finger, put the drop of blood on strip. Five seconds and you get the answer.
I've been a diabetic for 33 years. This is the nicest monitor I've used yet. Very quick, very user friendly and Amazon has the best price out there. I did my research and found that Amazon was the least expensive and delivery was free with my $25.00 order of a few other supplies. Delivery was quick and it saved me running to the local Kmart (30 miles away) and paying almost $5.00 more.
Simple to use system gives accurate results in approximately 5 seconds. Just insert test strip and with two simple steps get an accurate result. Accu-check test strips and control solutions sold separately.

The item was cheaply made and did not work. It was not worth the cost of shipping to me or to return it.
I bought this as an extra charger to keep at work, and it's exactly the same as the Samsung charger. It's likely straight from the manufacturer.
I am sure that this is a good product, however, it is not the right charger for the ZX10 model like it says it is. It did not fit my phone.
Even though this product travel charger was recommended for my phone it did not work well. I would not recommend this particular product

but once again these are great glasses for the money. with my second order i now have six pair. i have them in every car i drive and all around the house. thanks again.
Bifocal contact lenses have never worked for me, so when I wear contacts, I still need to carry some reading glasses. If I'm out in the bright sunshine here in Palm Springs, that means also taking a pair of sunglasses. These babies combine the two and are really VERY cool. The Way Cool Bi-Focal SunReader frames are remarkably sturdy for the price and they have a retro, Wayfarer type of styling that has me wanting to scoot across the floor in my white socks to old time rock&roll!

If I could find the receipt and felt like going thru the hassle,I would definetly return this product. We had this type of product before and expected the same quality. Not the same! There's no PIN # the kids can enter, it doesn't calculate the deposit every time and the bills are difficult to get in. It basically doesn't work at all and it is right now lying on the floor with my 10yr olds wallet next to it because he got frustrated with it and left it there. There are better ATM banks out there. Don't waste your money with this cheap imitation.
We just got this bank and it was very disappointing. I am unable to deposit any bills, no matter how hard I've tried, and I can't even fudge and just stuff the bills inside the bank and enter the deposit amount. I don't know why it won't let me enter any deposit amounts.

The coin slot does work, and my sons (ages 5 and 8) added multiple coins successfully, which were also added by the machine successfully. The 'withdrawal' mechanism does work, but without being able to add any bills, I think we'll be returning this to the store.
If my kids didnt really like the bank/atm, I would return it. Its a pretty shoddy product. First off, if the coins slip while you are trying to insert them, it will count them anyway OR count it as the wrong coin (while trying to insert a quarter, my son's hand slipped&it registered as 5 cents). This can happen a few times so you end up with an inaccurate amt of $ in the machine. And the dollar bills DO NOT go in easily, I couldnt get one in. Now, none of them were crisp dollars, so maybe that is what you need, but how many of us have all crisp dollars all the time? I had to put them in, crank the knob until the machine thought it was inserted, and click deposit&the amt. Its a pain.

My kids (6 and 4) were happy to have it, they dont get that its flawed...so we'll probably keep it, but I would never recommend anyone buying it.
I gave this to both of my kids for Christmas. My son was excited and tried to put his money in it. Inserting the change is easy, because the machine automatically recognizes it and adds it to the balance. The paper money is a different story. This is a manual process. The user winds the right side knob, puts the bill in the slot, press the button in the knob, and the machine winds the money in. When the machine does wind it in, it deposits the money in the holding area kind of like cramming it in a box. Sometimes the machine does not get the whole bill in. The next step in the deposit part is to press the deposit button, then press the denomination. Most of the time this does not work the first time. What I have had to do was manipulate the machine to understand I am depositing it. To withdraw, the user takes the money out of the holding area at the bottom, then tell the machine how much was taken out manually...press withdraw then the denomination. Overall, I do not like the machine because it is unreliable and frustrating. This might lead to the child not using it for its intended purpose.

(Worst Business Accounting Program Ever)

Excellent accounting package. Easy to use. Easy to inport and export data in CSV format. Integrated Crystal Report makes report generation very flexible.
I will preface this by stating that I have never submitted a product review before, but feel so strongly about Peachtree Premium Accounting 2008 that I am submitting this review.

This is simply the very worst business accounting software I have ever used.

I am a finance professional by trade and the interface in this software makes little sense. There is no editable transaction ledger for non-cash accounts. For example, if your business has a credit card, you will enter each transaction (as a "check") while not being able to see other transactions. If you want to view the history of the account, you have to generate a report and if it doesn't reconcile, it is VERY VERY difficult to get to the erroneous transaction. The makers of this software have very clearly never run a small business.

Also of note, the company data is stored in a series of files, not one file, and cannot be stored on a file server (Peachtree won't open it). You HAVE to store the files on a system with Peachtree installed.

Finally, after registering this software, you will be inundated with offers for support packages for the software.
I have been a Peachtree customer for over 17 years. I had not upgraded for a few years and felt this would be the time to do so. Some of the new features looked quite attractive. The first thing I noticed after insalling the multi-user version on my network is that they had changed the datbase from the Novell btrieve format to Pervasive SQL. I thought this would be good as I have usually noticed SQL databases run faster. Boy was I mistaken. The program ran so slow it was unusable. Different windows might take 30 seconds to pop up and another screen would take 20 seconds to save. The confusing thing was the behavior was not consistent it would run fast for a few transactions then revert to running slow. Peachtree technical support told me my server was not fast enough to handle the new version even though all my other software programs ran fine on the network. I should have been suspicious because Peachtree ran this slow even when I was the only one using the network. Nevertheless, I bought a new $3,600 Server and much to my dismay Peachtree ran just as slow. Then Peachtree Technical support claimed it was my network switch so I bought a newer one for $650. No improvement. I could see what was coming next. They claimed it was my workstations. I was about to upgrade the 3 bookkeeping computers anyway so I spent $1,950 each to buy very fast systems for the 3 of them. Still no change. I have searched around the Internet and found that I am not the only one to have these problems. It seems that the newest versions of Peachtree with the Pervasive SQL database where only designed to be run in Single user mode and not on a network. They built the network functions on later. I am very upset with Peachtree technical support for lying to me. If they would have told me the truth that there where some problems with the network abilities in the new version of Peachtree and that they were working on them, I would have saved thousands of dollars in new hardware that they claimed I needed. The last thing they told me was that I just needed to upgrade to Peachtree Quantum Accounting because it ran much faster. That would cost me thousands more. They must be kidding. I will never trust them again. My old version ran fine but they tell me there is now way to downgrade my data files. I am looking around for another brand of software now. If it can painlessly convert my Peachtree data I will switch.

I got this for my son and when he and his dad tried to fix it the connection to the cord came loose. They were screwing in the slide check and the connection to the cord came apart. We did not screw it in hard at all. We have never had these kind if problems with my past cords.
I have had the coil out 3 times since I purchased it a few months ago. I play mostly woods/speedball. I am very happy playing being able to run all over. I reccomend looking at the YouTube video on how to use the slide check for new users. The slide check and quick release I am definately in love with. Its great to be able to disconnect the marker at any time . It stays tight to my body. I only had it get caught once because I crawled in a tight spot under a tree which isn't very practical and I could hardly fit. The valve seems cheaply made but I am not too rough with it. You can also always leave the valve open on the remote and use the valve on your tank if you have one to regulate the air flow instead. Overall I think I paid $45. I think it is possible to find a slightly cheaper one. I think it mentioned my coil can be use with HPA. I have not tried this yet. This item came insanely fast from AZ to IL in roughly 1.5 days with regular shipping.

I bought this case for my 10 inch Acer netbook. It was a little tight from the beginning but after several zips and unzips accessing the netbook it fits okay.
I personally loved the case, though I have a smaller computer, 9" instead of ten, the case fit's fine and works perfect. It's a little thinner than I thought it would be, but the memory foam really cradles the PC. It's perfect for me.
I bought this case and am veyr unhappy with it.
My Asus EeePC 1000H BARELY fits in it. I feel it is just such a tight squeeze. I dont understand why they could'nt make this base about 1/2 - 1 inch bigger so the netbook COMFORTABLY fits inside. Then this would have been a wonderful prodcut

I'm a bonehead mechanic. When an engine warning light goes on, I hate having to take my car to a shop&then being trapped with their diagnosis and fix. So after checking Consumer Reports, I bought their highly-rated AutoXray CodeScout 2500. The warning light on my 2005 Dodge Caravan came on at 52,000 miles. I already had myself convinced that it was an oxygen sensor, because they are usually the first to fail. But SURPRISE, the Code Reader showed a code&diagnosis of a clogged or leaky EGR valve. I didn't even know what that was, but after checking online, I learned what the EGR valve looks like and where it's located on the engine. I bought a new one from the dealer, and installed it. Because I'm a bonehead, it took me several hours to do the job. But I figure my scanner is already paid for just in the savings on one job! The only difficulty I experienced with this product was getting the rubber cover off to insert the batteries. Otherwise it's pretty darn slick!
The AutoXray CodeScout 2500 was exactly what I needed to repair my daughter's '98 BMW M3. Based on the code readout which told me "coolant temperature insufficient to . . . " I was able to pinpoint the problem with a bit of logic and a test drive to confirm that the thermostat was probably stuck open. I replaced the thermostat and cleared the fault. The CodeScout paid for itself in one use and I've got two other cars it will work with. Excellent quality and very reasonable price.
Of the code readers out there for home use, this is far and away the most capable and easy to use; with the USB-cable version of the AutoXray EZ-PC 500 Software which you can get through Amazon for around $50 (and be sure to get that version, not the 400) Before buying the software, however, be sure to get the USB version and not the older version with a serial cable; you have to ask before buying because vendors will sell you the EZ-PC 500 with the serial cable if they have only the old one, and there is no version number from AutoXray to tell the two apart. I gave only 4 stars because it took me a lot of e-mails and phone calls with the company to find that out--not because of any problems with the reader. With the 2500 and the software you are all set to get updates to keep your reader current; you can get codes from virtually every vehicle that has code plugs; and then you can transfer the codes to your computer to chart them and keep track of them for your maintenance records. You also can reset the check engine light. If you are a professional, a scanner (at least twice as expensive) is probably more appropriate, but the 2500 with the software does everything most of us individual owners could want. Great buy via Amazon at 2/3 of current MSRP (find MSRP at the autoxray web site).
This is my first scanner and I can't say that I am disappointed at all! This item was at a great price! It's real easy to use and tells you what the problem is(as far as what the code typically entails). Definitely a must get if you are sick of paying money to other people, just to tell you what's wrong. Pays for itself in just a couple uses!
When the CodeScout arrived I was skeptical that I would need to get online software updates and code library updates to even use this device, and that was NOT the case at all. It hooked right up to a 1993 Chevy Blazer, a 1988 Ford Ranger, a 2004 Saturn Vue, and a 2004 Ford Mustant and worked great. The on-screen information for each car was in plain english and pointed out the trouble parts and failure codes very clearly. This reader will definately save me a lot of money at the autoparts store and the mechanic. This is a must have tool for any shade-tree mechanic with a newer car.

I bought this cable expecting an update from Actron. After reading the other reviews, I figured that after TWO years Actron would get their ACT together and release an update. However, I checked today and still no update. Why would you release a product that is useless for over 2 years!! The scanner works great, this cable is not worth buying unless they come out with an update. Save your money and invest it in a better Actron scanner.

While there has been no updates in 2 years, it doesn't mean that there won't be in the future. I think what they're waiting on is all the new CAN information to become available before writing the update. The CP9175 code reader can be used on the new CAN systems as well as the OBD II systems.
The CP9137 has been around for nearly two years and Actron still has no updates available! Don't bother with this cable until they do!

I bought this cable to go with the OBD II scanner I also bought at Amazon. It's supposed to allow you to get updates from the Internet. But when I went to Actron's website they reported online updates weren't available yet. So why did they sell me the cable?? Pretty expensive cable that has no use other than to fatten their coffers.

This has lots of ideas and I used alot of them to teach 4-7 year olds.
The instructions in this book are minimal and tiny - all black and white - no color illustrations. The hats are lame. It did not live up to a 5 start rating by any measure.
This book does have a lot of good craft ideas. I bought it because I work with preschoolers and wanted projects for my 3 year olds. These are mostly crafts that need to be done with older kids that can manage a stapler, scissors, follow muliple step directions. Lots of teacher prep if you work with the younger kids.
This book is perfect for your little ones. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loved the crafts we have already done out of the book. I also work with children as my job and also at my church. I highly recommend this book to all you parents, grandparents, Aunt&Uncles, All care givers, and even the expecting parents. A+ Book.
