(An excellent piece of work. Go buy it NOW!!!!!) 『I was introduced to Ketelbey's work by the late Guillermo Figueroa of the famous Figueroa Family group from Puerto Rico. In the few couple of years I worked assisting him, then the conductor for a Youth Chamber Music Orchestra, Don Guillermo helped me rediscover good classical and contemporary music, and introduced me to some great works like the one in review. The recordings are old school but the music is haunting, timeless and beautiful. I highly recommend this cd, and like Don Guillermo told me about 10 years ago: "Give it a chance, you don't have to be a great musician to appreciate great music" How right was He!』

("Where There Is Light" ~ Great Adversary, Or Ultimate Scapegoat?) 『I found the '07 release, `Biography - Satan: Prince of Darkness' to be an extremely shallow examination of the history of the Devil. It is narrow in scope, incomplete, lacking in content. The documentary limits itself only to the Christian perspective which is fine if that was the target audience it was aiming for. I found it surprising that even within the narrow scope of the Judeo-Christian faiths the program is unable to provide anything profound or meaningful in its allotted 141 minutes.
The program is at best a bare bones, cursory approach to the subject matter, offering no pertinent information or insight on the nature of metaphysical evil. In fact the narrative is so poorly scripted it borders on being downright laughable. There is so much left out and what is there is poorly presented.
Blatant Omissions: - There is no mention of the offspring of the "Sons of God" (angels) known as the Nephilim. - The Templars are nowhere to be found. - Mephistopheles, the most important demonic figure of the 20th century is never mentioned (they do show an illustration of him).
These are but a few of the problems with this presentation, there are many more. I recommend that you pass on this one.』

From the get go when Lucifer is said to be another name for Satan you can sure bet that single minded Christian antics are at work here. Avoid this at all costs and look for more interesting documentaries such as: Satanis, Omen Legacy, Angeli Bianchi-Angeli Neri, Scream Greats Volume 2:Satanism and Satanic Witchcraft, and a really good documentary on the Mondo Macabro release "Satanico Pandomonium". 』
(Portrait of the Prince of Darkness) 『This documentary proved quite informative, as well as value for money. Despite scant attention being given to pre-Christian concepts of evil and the underworld, the real pleasure was the bonus feature, 'Hell: The Devil's Domain', which runs substantially longer than the first feature and delves into the many fascinating artistic interpretations of Satan and his kingdom of Hell. Excerpts from interviews with various academics, authors and Jesuit Theologians are woven into the narrative, which lends the material much articulation. Unfortunately for Christians, it won't scare people back into church. But it does shed some light on the origins and evolution of one of the most fascinating literary figures of all time. For those interested in delving further, read Jeffrey Burton Russell's seminal works on the subject, especially 'Lucifer: The Devil in the Middle Ages' and 'Mephistopheles: The Devil in the Modern World'.

Aside from the underlying causes of John's premature death, what scars this fine film and tribute to an extraordinary musician is what was not said and by whom. The lifestyle of rockstars -- drugs and drink, etc. --leads to bad and foolish behavior; that much is certain. But bad character is another matter and bad character is what is shown here, not by John or Pete, but by the glaring, conspicuous absence of Roger Daltry. Whatever personal differences Roger may have had with John pale when compared to the loss of a gifted, humble man who was his fellow band member for decades and one of the greatest bass players in the history of rock. While the brilliant but hyperneurotic Pete was open and frank, Daltry's total silence went beyond disrespect to sink into the nadir of insensitivity and crassness. I came away from this documentary with nothing but respect for John and nothing but contempt for Roger Daltry.』

When I tested this model on my finger, I was surprised at how powerful it was for a child-sized unit. This electric toothbrush decidedly will not rip her little gums off her skull, but the teeth definitely get a good scrubbing.
Battery life is okay, I estimate it costs about½ a cent for her to brush her teeth each time. The future value of that expenditure is far lower than the dental bills I'd otherwise have, so this is a money saving unit.

I really had high hopes for this, I love Flexees but this one is a huge disappointment. I wore it under a summer dress and the bottom kept scooting up and the top sits lower than what I would have liked. The worst part was that any give in the fabric works it's way right to your stomach so there was very little control there. It made my stomach look bigger than what I am - I was so uncomfortable. I think they have a few issues going on with this product. 1) Sizing is off. 2) Does not control like stated (in my case - made it worse). I'm fine with the rest of their products, I absolutely love Maidenform and the Flexee line but this was a disaster! The problem size for me was 36C, in case anyone was wondering.

Side note, it has 3 hooks in the back for closing, and it is quite a struggle to hook it yourself, so get help, or skill.』

I ordered what I thought was the simple waist cincher, exactly as pictured in the product image (smooth, satin-y front) and as described in the Product Description. However, when I got it, it had a lace front and garters. NOT what is described and exactly what I DIDN'T want. Unfortunately, I bought it for an event a few days later so I had no choice but to keep it. I wrote HerRoom right away to let them know that they sent the wrong product, but I got no response, so hey -- guess they don't care what they are sending out. A simple apology or acknowledgement of their mistake would have gone a long way but now I know never to order from them again.
On to an actual review of the product (even though the one I got is not really the right product here): the lace cincher was fine, but I was looking for a little more 'cinching'. A previous reviewer said the one with lace and garters does not provide as much support, and is not as invisible as the one actually listed here. However, I guess the lace one with garters does what it's supposed to do -- just not what I wanted it to do. I still wore it and was lucky that the dress I wore it with hid it well, but I wanted to be able to wear it with other things and unfortunately, its use is limited. However, it's pretty, held me in relatively well and was pretty comfortable.
I plan on buying the Rago waist cincher that I originally wanted -- just NOT from HerRoom!!』

I have had two children and I have a permanent pooch in the front, I am also carrying extra weight from my last pregnancy still. While I didn't expect this to take away any inches, it does what I hoped for! My tummy is flat and my waist is nipped in the right spots. It is a comfortable garment, I expected the worst, scratchy, binding, bulging, but it is none of those things! When I pulled it around my waist, I thought it was going to be too small, it was difficult to pull the sides of it together over my baby belly, but I had ordered according to the size chart on Rago's website, so I persevered. Once it was all hooked, I could see it was the perfect size, any larger and it wouldn't have been as effective, any tighter and I would have that bulging thing going on. (Review by William's Wife Jen) 『I have several corsets and waist cinchers and I have to say that this one is my favourite. I have worn it almost daily since I bought it, and I couldn't be more pleased. Allow me to explain why this is the cincher to buy. 1)The difference between corsets and cinchers: I own both, and they both do different things even though most people think that they're the same. A corset makes the body look beautiful outside of clothes (they push the breasts up very high and pull in the waist), but in general (unless you're wearing Marie Antoinette style clothing) they don't look good under an outfit. The breasts become a single lump and the ties are usually quite visiable underneath (which defeats the entire purpose of trying to get people to think that this is your natural figure). A cincher is made to be worn under clothes, to pull in the waist, and to be as invisiable as possible. Therefore they often aren't as pretty as corsets but make much better undergarments. 2) Rago rocks! I own many shaper garments, and Rago's are by far the best. Yes, you can find cheaper brands in the department stores, but they won't hold up as well and they won't have the power that Rago's have. 3)Of the versions Rago offers on this site, this one is the best. I own the other model which is very similar except that it is lace and has garters, but it doesn't offer as much support as this one and aren't as invisiable as this one. The satin feels wonderful next to the skin and even under clingy dresses this is just about undetectable. Unless you have your heart set on garters, this is the cincher to buy. 4) The fit: like many women I suffer from "Mummy Tummy", the horrible price one must pay for having grown two human beings in her body. I am in very good shape, but nothing gets those muscles back to their prepregnancy shape besides surgery (I don't have a spare $20,000 lying around and the scar is huge and ugly). This garment instantly takes 2-4 inches off of the waist and allows one to wear fashionable clothes again without looking frumpy or silly. Another bonus is that I stood about two inches taller because it forces you to walk and sit with perfect posture. This gave me back my youthful waistline. One reviewer said that the fit is a bit tight and they run small; the fit is much tighter than what lace materials and cheaper brands offer but that's because it's a high quality product that works! Those satin panels really pull you in, but they're not uncomfortable (I felt like a sausage for the first hour I wore it, but the body heat warms it up and makes it softer without losing any control). I plan on losing about 10-20 lbs. over the next few months so I will probably buy a new one soon, but I'd recommend buying your size according to the chart. Most of the time I can fit into a small because they don't provide as much compression, but this one you need to be exact. I bought the catalogue after seeing the exhibit and I fell in love with the paintings. The over 170 reproductions in the book depicit everyday subjects such as family life, children playing, people at work, and city life. Some of the most well known works illustrated include John Singleton Copley's "Watson and the Shark", George Caleb Bingham's "Fur Traders Descending the Missouri, Thomas Eakins' "Max Schmidt in a Single Skull", Winslow Homer's "Snap the Whip", and George Bellows' "Club Night". The text gives great explanations of all the paintings as well as important historical information. The book is divided into four time periods like the exhibit. The first section describe works that were made from 1765 to the 1830s which are mainly genre portrait paintings by artists such as William Pratt and Charles Willson Peale. The second section have works which were painted from 1830 to the eve of the Civil War. Highlights in this section include rural life paintings by William Sidney Mount, frontier life paintings by Bingham, domestic life works by Lilly Martin Spencer, and a major painting by Eastman Johnson depicting slaves entitled, "Negro Life in the South." The third section has masterpieces of the Civil War period including several by Homer. The last one deals with paintings made from the 1870s until the eve of World War I. This section shows American Impressionist works by Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, and William Merritt Chase and ends with ashcan school paintings by artists such as John Sloan and Bellows. The book also has illustrations by European artists like Edgar Degas and Edouard Manet to show how European and American painters depicit genre subjects differently. (Best Figure Drawing Book There Is...) 『There are so many mixed reviews for figure drawing books. I can say without a doubt in my mind that Vanderpoel's "The Human Figure" is far superior to any book I've come across so far. Vanderpoel had an incredible grasp on the human figure. His drawings are perfect in their simplicity. I am always amazed when I look through this book; many of the sketches look like they were done in seconds but they capture the exact subtleties and fluctuations in both the female and male bodies and heads.
Other figure drawing books I've purchased or browsed pale in comparison. Sure, Vanderpoel's text is wordy, intellectual, and sometimes uninteresting, but you have to look at the time period and purpose of the text. Vanderpoel was interested in the anatomical dissection of each part of the body. His goal with this book was to show the reader what is "going on" beneath the surface so you can understand why there is a bulge in muscle here or cartilage there, etc. The book is broken into chapters that cover each part of the body, starting with the head, and more specifically--the eye, then nose, mouth, ear, etc. The text is accompanied by drawings of what Vanderpoel is describing. For instance, the first chapter--Eyes--begins with explanations of how the eye sits in the eye socket, and how the eye socket relates to the skull as a whole. Drawings include skulls in different positions so you can see the brow bone and eye socket from different angles, and how the eyeball might sit in the head at different angles. The text goes on to explain how far inside the socket the eyeball sits, how the eyelid covers the eye when the eye is looking up or down, how big the iris and pupil are in comparison to the whole eyeball, etc. Studying this text can help artists to understand how to dry eyes in portraits conceptually with practice and time.
This is how figure drawing was intended to be: a study of the anatomical goings-on below the skin. Figure and portrative artists should have at least a pretty good grasp on this to make sure their drawing relates to itself as a whole. Too many artists these days just copy pictures of things, or even trace! It's shameful, in my (very opinionated) opinion.
Vanderpoel was a master and I feel honored to have this publication as part of my collection. I was first given this book by an art teacher when I was 14 or 15 years old and many years later it is still the first (and one of the only) books I find myself going back to when I want to brush up on my figure drawing skills.』

The descriptions of the body parts do not even refer to the sketches. Definately not for beginners and experienced artists should not waste their time trying to parse the erudite language of this book.』

In each pack of Alien rocks aka bath bombs with toys, you get 2 (Ben and Vilgax). If you are a person who has ever purchased bath bombs for yourself, you know that this is not a bad price for 2 of them.
Basically, you unwrap and disolve the ball in warm water. In the middle there is a tiny 1 inch figure of a Ben 10 character. They smell up the whole house nicely while disolving. Even weeks after the little character still smells good. We used the 2nd one in the bath. The packaging does not say if it is able to be used in the bath, but everything turned out fine.
Now while the fizzing action is fun for about 5 minutes, and the colored scented water is nice for the entire bath, you are only left with a 1 inch toy. I couldn't tell who was who, but my son was able to. You have to be very carefull not to loose them, because they are so tiny. I would not buy these for anyone under 5 or for any child that still puts things in thier mouth as these are a big choking hazzard. The item picture that I see on my screen at a 1280x800 resolution is about 4x the actual size.
My son plays with the little figures alot, and does alot of role play with them and he also launches them from the alien rock launcher of the Ben 10 Vilgax Battle Ship- Vilgax Battle Planet.』
