Another is white trash-going past Tonya or Nicole into beer binges and other over the top activity. The third girl is new- a fat girl. Every joke about all 3 girls rings true, but only the fat ones seem funny. Maybe because she's an EVIL manipulative fat girl, instead of being sympathetic. The only reason to see this movie disappears early on - guest American Open Champion and show skater Chrisha Gossard plays the pretty girl skater. Her character falls victim to the fat girl's scheming. At least we get to see her skate her Spanish style program. Things continue into a guy/girl Japanese are-better-jumpers conflict -not funny. My advice? FAST FORWARD to Chrisha, WATCH, and EJECT. Return.』

(Funny Mocumentary) 『I like mockumentaries and thought this one had potential as the ice skating world is ripe for picking, but it was not to be. "On Edge" must've looked good on paper as there are lots of good set-ups for comedic moments but the execution is not quite as good as movies like "Spinal Tap" or "Best in Show." "On Edge" features so much self conscious mugging for the camera that I'd bet it was fun to be on the set at the time of filming but for those of us in the audience it's very hard to sit through. Its kind of a shame because the movie has a good blueprint. It focuses on a number of young ice skaters prepping for the regional competition. There's the fat girl, the twins, the klutz, the bad girl, and the one for whom ice skating isn't her real dream but her stage mother won't let her stop skating because she's a natural. Jason Alexander is sort of an everyman, playing Zamboni Phil, and commenting sagely on the different girls and their managers. I'd like to see this movie remade by Christopher Guest and company.』

You know, back in the day people used to laugh at how bad home movies were. And they really were pretty bad. Well, these home movies really aren't much better. And the total package is really raunchy.
It's sorta neat to see some of the old ballparks and players. For about five minutes. Then the narrator starts to become mega-annoying, and you're wondering just where the heck this stuff is happening and who these people dressed in uniforms are and just why am I being shown poorly-framed movies of a paunchy guy on a fishing boat?
It's a surreal experience. If you can accept its surreality and just go with the flow, you might manage to find some sort of enjoyment here. Otherwise... don't bother.』
(Wow. Color film footage of Lou Gehrig and much, much more) 『"When It Was a Game"is composed entirely of 8mm and 16mm home movie footage that was taken by players and fans between 1934 and 1957. What this means for every baseball fan who has seen nothing but black&white newsreel footage of the good old days is the opportunity to see great players and the old ballparks where they played in living color. As soon as your see Lou Gehrig in color your heart just about skips a beat. Every spring right before Opening Day I watch the Ken Burns 9-inning documentary on"Baseball,"and once it gets up to the Sixties and we start seeing things in color, the whole thing loses some of its charm for me because I am so used to seeing old footage and photographs in black&white. That makes the nostalgic images in"What It Was a Game"so astounding.
The only thing I can come up with to compare this documentary to wuld be the 1953 Bowman baseball cards. That was the year Bowman went to photographs, with 64 black&white 2 1/2"x 3 3/4"cards and 160 in color. These remain some of the most beautiful baseball cards ever made, particularly card #32 of the St. Louis Cardinals' Stan"The Man"Musial. When we see footage of Musial in this documentary, his uniform a beautiful combination of black and red, this is just something transcendent about that image. Even when these are just home movies taken before a game, seeing Ted Williams, Hank Greenberg, Bill Dickey, Carl Hubbell, Robin Roberts, and Jackie Robinson in color is just so captivating. Even shadowy footage of Satchel Paige in the major leagues at last is memorable. Then there are the shots of some of the living Hall of Famers such as Honus Wagner and Cy Young, including film of the greatest outfielders of the first half century: Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, and Tris Speaker. I have seen black&white photographs of their joint appearance, Ruth ill and not wearing a uniform, but this is in color and the pictures are in motion.
The producers have to come up with something for somebody to say while we watch these fascinating images, and there is a mixture of recollections from former players, poetic observations from sportswriters, and some actual commentary on what we are seeing (I have reason to suspect that some of this is leftover audio from Burns's "Baseball" since they are the same voices). But you will probably have to watch this 57-minute documentary a couple of times to catch everything that is being said because a real baseball fan is just going to lose themselves in these pictures. Players are often identified, which is good because since they are not in black&white some of them are actually hard to recognize. But in terms of the most shocking images that would have to be reserved for the section on the old ballparks where we see Chicago's Wrigley Field when the outfield wall was not covered with ivy and there were no bleachers for the fans. If that does not give you a sense they we have gone back into the distant past when baseball was a game, nothing will.』

The foam slips around and it is uncomfortable to do the exercises with the band around your feet or ankles unless you're wearing shoes. She goes from exercise to exercise and pose to pose without giving you much time to regroup. Almost no warm up. Also quite a few of the exercises require pretty decent balance so if you're out of shape or uncoordinated it's hard to follow along. Being that it's only 10 minute snippets I thought this was geared for my demographic--housewives trying to get back into shape or whatnot. It seems like this is more for someone who is already in shape, however the exercises are so low-impact (due to being centered around the "no resistance" band) that I can't see how they'd be satisfying for someone at an intermediate level.』

The bands are my only complaint - the yellow band hardly gives any resistance at all and they are definitely not a one size fits all product. Amy is obviously much taller than 5 feet as I had to work from the middle of the band for some of the upper body just to feel "the burn".
It's a really easy workout to follow, I like how she moves quickly. It's get my heart rate up and I break a sweat without hurting myself the way the Firm tapes do. I like the trainer's attitude, very upbeat and supportive without sounding like a drill instructor.
I like this DVD so much, I bought the other items featuring this trainer. I would say buy your own bands seperately to give yourself more resistance.』

I can do on most days three to four segments sometimes I'll do two early morning and two late afternoon. I tend to get bored very easy , so I mix and match the 10 minute solution dvds. For example, On Monday I'll do lower body , cardio&abs. Tuesday 3 cardio segments 1 ab segment etc. I have to stay focused and mixing it up helps me achieve that. (Great workout for intermediates!) 『I am (I guess) what you'd call an intermediate-level exerciser, as I'm not where I want to be but I'm definitely past the beginner's stage. I've completed the entire video one time, and WHEW! I'm feelin' it! Don't let the seemingly-light Figure 8's fool you. When I first pulled them out of the box, my first thought was to return the whole package because I couldn't see any possible way they'd work. However, I went against my first impression and did the workout today, and it's most certainly a keeper.
The first time you do this workout (any or all of the segments), you may find it helpful to keep both Figure 8 bands handy so that you can gauge which resistance level you need for the exercises. Keep the remote close by, too, as the instructor tends to move a bit quickly through some of the moves.
One thing I like is that this video incorporates strength training moves that aren't usually a part of my workout. Although some more advanced exercisers may not find them challenging, I was pleasantly surprised as I worked through 8 reps plus 8 "burn reps" of each move. One of the only drawbacks I found was that during some of the floor/leg work, the Figure 8 doesn't exactly want to stay in place as it should...this, I think, is going to be a matter of just getting used to the move and being careful with the positioning of the band. Also, if the resistance isn't hard enough for you, let go of the handle of the band and grab hold onto the bands themselves--this helped me when I felt that I needed more "oomph" in the move.
So, if you're looking for a sculpting video that's outside of your normal routine, don't be afraid to give this one a try. I'm looking forward to my next workout with it!』

The drawbacks are that the bands are not that strong, even though the red is the stronger. (Wow! A book that can change lives...but be prepared to help kids interpret the puzzles) 『Here's a rare find: A lively, colorful, intellectual book about math for kids (or indeed anyone who can do basic arithmetic).
Author Johnny Ball begins at the beginning, with a review of the many ways that different cultures reckon numbers. Base ten? How about base 20 (in cultures where people count on their fingers AND toes)?
Kids also get to see how different systems for writing numbers--from Egypt to Rome to India to the Mayan empire--developed. And Ball presents all sorts of intriguing topics, including pi, magic squares, primes, geometry, topology, logic, and fractals.
The book is bursting with helpful illustrations and peppered with questions, thought problems, cool math shortcuts, and activities. For example, the reader learns how to prove that a triangle's angles add up to 180 degrees (by drawing a triangle on paper, tearing out each corner, and then fitting them together along a straight line).
Negatives? The explanations aren't always satisfying, as when Ball explains why numbers from the Fibonacci sequence (i.e.,...5, 8, 13, 21, 35...) turn up in nature so often. ("...they provide the best way for packing seeds, petals, or leaves in a limited space without large gaps or awkward overlaps.")
But I don't really see this as a shortcoming. The book is designed to be a brief introduction, and Ball's presentation should inspire the curious reader to track down more information.
My more important complaints:
(1) Some of the "brain teasers" are really just smart aleck riddles about how we interpret everyday speech--e.g., "How many birthdays does the average man have?" (Answer: One) or "How is it possible to push a large doughnut through a cup handle?" (Answer: Poke your finger through the handle and give it a push!") "Solving" such riddles depends on ambiguities of language, not logic or math. It's a bit jarring (and perhaps even confusing) to mix these with real math puzzles.
(2) Some of the instructions for the brain teasers are vague and this might frustrate kids and/or make them conclude that they don't "get" math. Example: Kids are given a map and asked how many routes are possible between two points. But the "correct" answer seems to assume that we're talking about efficient routes only--not every conceivable route.
These aren't huge problems, and it's likely that the more sophisticated, confident reader can cope with them. But I think it's important to be aware of them so you can reassure and help your child if she gets stuck or confused. Kids should also know that some of the puzzles are just darned tough. And at least one of them involves algebra ("Among the camels and ostriches there are 60 eyes and 86 feet. How many of each kind of animal are there?")
The disclaimers aside, this is an outstanding, unusual, fun, book that stimulates curiosity and "math play." It's the sort of book that could change lives--steering smart kids into the "math track" and the career options that go with it. Thank you, Johnny Ball!

My intent was to be able to teach my 8-year-old, 3rd grade daughter some cool principles, tricks, games for math so she could improve. She's (surprisingly, right) not interested in the book really. I think she's just a little bit too young for it. But I loved the book. When we work over the summer, I will do a little bit at a time with her: Prime Numbers lesson, history of number systems, etc. Little chunks should help improve her understanding and I think ALL kids should be exposed to the lessons in this book early.』

(Rise and fall!) 『First off, let me say that we're not talking here about the famous Qi gong instructor named John Milton. We're talking about the famous 17th-century English poet who wrote _Paradise Lost_ and _Paradise Regained_, two of the most wonderfully overlong Christian poems in the history of Western literature.
Your English teacher will tell you that _Paradise Lost_ "narrates the story of Adam and Eve's disobedience, explains how and why it happened, and places the story within the larger context of Satan's rebellion and Jesus' resurrection." And you know that can't be far wrong, because SparkNotes says the exact same thing.
But the main reason everyone should read Milton's grand epic is that it contains certain secrets about prayer.
In PL, Milton reminds us how important it is, when we pray, to be absolutely specific. The Lord has a strange, often disturbing, sense of humour (PL, books I-XII). If you leave Him wiggle room, He will answer your prayer in a way you never intended, and then say it was your own damned fault, because your prayer contained seven types of ambiguity.
John Milton writes from experience. Example: Almost every time a good-looking woman passed within view of John Milton, he suffered an involuntary erection. Daniel of the Old Testament might well have suffered such a condition without complaining, but John Milton found it onerous. John was both a Puritan and a student of Saint Augustine. He was not happy when he suffered an erection, he hated it, and he especially resented the women who made that thing happen to him.
In a Latin letter to his friend, George Wither, John Milton reports that, in his youth, he would sometimes see a pretty woman even in his dreams at night, and suffer, not just an erection, but the whole nine yards, up to and including a nocturnal emission; which he trained himself to handle according to Scripture, thereby to purify himself (Deut. 23:10); but sometimes he was unable to wait that long before he handled it, which filled his soul full of Puritan remorse and self-reproach.
At age 33, the poet took to wife a 16-year-old lolita named Mary Powell; and you may already have guessed the reason why, which is that she gave him an erection -- more accurately, she gave him "one damned erection after another," without remission. (Giving John Milton an erection was not the girl's conscious intent, but it just happened to him, every time they met.) And since Christian marriage is Saint Paul's only approved method whereby to deal with that kind of torment, John Milton (being an honourable man) thought it best to marry the girl (1 Cor. 7:9).
Frailty, thy name is woman! After two years of marriage - after just two years of witnessing those insufferable erections that could not be beaten down, or at least, not for long - the poet's young Puritan bride ran away and skipped back home to live with her mother, Mrs. Anne Powell, who likewise gave John an erection; which is why John Milton resented his mother-in-law as well as his estranged wife.
Those were the hardest years of the poet's life - nothing but a daily struggle against involuntary erections, yet here he was, trapped in a loveless marriage to a barely pubescent teenager who lived with her entirely-too-attractive mother. Which is partly why John Milton wrote those four revolutionary Christian pamphlets, correcting Moses' and Jesus' hardline policy on divorce (Mark 10:11-12).
In his Latin correspondence, some of which is preserved in the Bodleian Library, John Milton reports that he was fine when alone in his study, or when hobnobbing with Parliamentarians, or even when having a hasty pudding, or a figgy one, over at the Inns of Court; but let just one good-looker cross his path, showing good ankle between the hem of her dress and the top of her shoe, and it was boing! - instant erection, just like a spring-loaded mechanical device; causing John to exclaim bitterly, "Oh, God, please, not again! Save me from this penal fire!"
It even happened to him once when Oliver Cromwell's wife, Elizabeth Bourchier Cromwell, bent over to pick up a handkerchief that had fallen to the floor. On that occasion there was a lamentable accident ("an hard mishap" [verbatim quote]) with John's ordinarily modest codpiece - an incident so humiliating that John never even wrote a poem about it, although he did apologise, profusely, to Oliver Cromwell, and to Mrs. Cromwell, who saw the whole thing, and then fainted. (John at the time was employed as Cromwell's Latin secretary.)
By the way: It was modesty, not arrogance, that moved John Milton, after that embarrassing incident, to wear a baggy codpiece, with plenty of wiggle room.
Which brings me back to the beginning, when I was explaining why you should give the Lord no wiggle room when you pray: John Milton took his problem to the Lord in prayer, stating in his journal, "Father, I pray Thee, let me not suffer a stiffe joynt when I see a beautifull woman."
And here's how the Lord answered that prayer, in 1651: He struck John Milton blind.
At first, John thought that his blindness was a punishment for his own bad behaviour - which is how that whole thing got going, in Anglo-American Christianity, about how, if you are a boy who does what John Milton used to do, it could make you go blind. But God revealed to John, by means of a dream, that his blindness was actually an answer to his own prayers¬- because the poet had said, "Father, let me not suffer a stiff joint when I see a beautiful woman."
John Milton then said, "Lord, that is not what I meant, at all" - but it was too late to change the outcome, because the prayer was already answered.
The erections that John Milton suffered in the years 1651-1674, and there were many, even after the Lord answered his prayer, were not from seeing a beautiful woman, it was actually because John had a condition that modern physicians call PSAS ("Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome"). So the chronic "stiffe joynt" problem was not really the women's fault, and it never was; but John Milton never knew that. Even when he wrote Paradise Lost (by dictation, from 1652-1667), John was still under the impression that women, seen or unseen, were to blame for his condition; which is why he makes all of those snide remarks in blank verse about your mother, Eve, in Books IV-V and IX-X of Paradise Lost. Because whenever he pictured Eve in his mind's eye, it was boing! - the same old problem. And there would come no more blank verse to his head for the next twenty minutes or so, until things settled down. John Milton hated that.
But it all turned out for the best: if God had not answered John Milton's prayer in that unusual way, by blinding him, Paradise Lost might never have been completed, and sold to the publisher, Sam Simmons, in 1667, for£5 - which was a tidy sum for a religious poem during the decadent Restoration era.
It was while writing the early books of Paradise Lost that John was introduced to Katherine, a ship captain's daughter, a fat woman whom he had never seen (because he was blind); whom he nonetheless married in 1656, but not for the same old reason as before: John asked fat Kate to marry him (a.) because he needed secretarial assistance with Paradise Lost, and (b.) because Katherine did not have the same pernicious effect on him as Mary Powell and her mother Anne had done. John could dictate blank verse to Kate all night long without feeling so much as a tingle down there.
Kate's surname was Woodcock. Beelzebub made a little joke about that: he said, "The Lord finally gave John Milton just what he always wanted."

It contains nothing but the poem itself (including the prose arguments) with the original spelling and punctuation. That means no notes, commentary, or introduction, so if you're looking for lots of in-text help, this isn't what you want. The Fowler, Hughes, or Norton editions are all laden with helpful material like that. But if you just want to experience Milton's masterpiece alone, this is a lovely edition. I found that the book could be purchased much more cheaply if I ordered directly from the publisher's website.』

And not so much for the women interviewed and the amount of money they earned, but the fact that it gave little nuggets into the psyche of high earners.
I realize that if I am to be financially independant, than I will need to conquer some of my fears and assumptions about money. Reading this book brought to light some attitudes towards money that I hadn't thought of.
There are two great quotes about half-way through the book that summarize it well:
"How does one become a butterfly?" She asked pensively. "You must want to fly so much that are willing to give up being a caterpillar." ~Trina Paulus
"Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you're doing the impossible." ~St. Francis of Assisi
It is these quotes, along with the examples of the ladies striking out on their own or forging their own paths that is the inspiration behind this book. I believe this is one I will read again in the future, not for a quick answer to making hundred's of thousands, but for the inspiration to take control over money, instead of it over me. And in the process, perhaps I can become a six-figure woman.

(Recommended Reading for All Women) 『As a success coach for women I'm always keeping my eyes open for resources. When I recommended this book to my clients and on my website I got emails thanking me of the recommendation.
The material in this book highlights how 'invisible rules' can hold us back while getting out of our comfort zones is a prerequisite for success. The secrets that Stanny shares have the ability to change your life if you take them to heart.
Every chapter has offers some Aha moments. There is also advice you've probably heard before but somehow Stanny makes that advice fresh. Perhaps it helps that it comes from women who've proven that the advice is sound and it works.
Written in a warm and honest style, it reads like a conversation with a good friend. A very knowledgeable friend.
Her closing chapter brings the definition of real success full circle. But I won't be a spoiler. You'll have to read it for yourself.

(Fabulously inspriational book...) 『I read this book previously and recently skimmed through it again. This is a ridiculously great book. The good news is that I already put a lot of these strategies into place in my business and personal life. The bad news is that it inspired to start yet another project *laugh* I think as we all become more successful in life and business we start to stagnate. I know I'm guilty of that, for sure. I found my comfort zone and stayed right there, so I decided to figure something else out to push myself and a new project was born.
Aside from that though... this is a fabulous book for a woman who wants to break-through the income and personal barriers they find themselves hitting against. It had some great insight into what I was doing right and what I might have been doing wrong. I highly recommend this to all women, no matter what they do, it has great strategies for business, yes, but I saw several things in there that also applied to my personal life.
It is wonderfully inspirational and made me look at the way I approach things and see how I could possibly do them differently. My husband and I actually had a nice discussion about this book. It says "Women" and while I agree that most of these strategies were geared towards women, most men could use them as well. He pointed out that there are so many books/resources for women business-owners, but you don't see many for men that are working a woman's world (virtual assisting for instance). He's right, but as I pointed out to him, while things rapidly are changing, for the most part, women do have a harder time being taken seriously in business. I see it myself, but I also see myself being much more assertive than I ever have in the past. I'm not sure if that is changes in the world around me or in myself. I still see times I think I'm not taken as seriously, but for the most part I consider myself very lucky to be surrounded by clients and colleagues that not only support me, but that I share a mutual level of respect with and for.
Fabulous. Read it.
Now, this part is a little spoiler and a big rant... towards the end of the book, the author makes reference that as women start making money they should start putting their money into separate accounts into their name only. While I completely understand the reasoning, I completely disagree with it. Why would you belittle your spouse, who stood behind you and helped you climb up to be the success that you are by taking all of "your money" for yourself. If you have separate accounts to start with, it's one thing, but to have this person who you've always shared funds with and eaten Ramen with and then turn around and say "Oh, I make a lot of money now, so it's all mine" -- How right is that? For the record, I'm against separate funds at all. I think this is one of the reasons the divorce rate is so high, people see things too much as "mine" and "just in case". I see too many people not thinking of "us". Okay, that's my rant and really the only part of the book I didn't agree with - and yes, it got me riled up. (ya think?) Okay, off my soapbox.』
(Reservoir of knowledge) 『Its a good book, helps you build a reservoir of knowledge for situations where women need to sit up, speak up and ask for more from their workplaces or businesses. 』
(Good insight on what works and what doesn't for earning higher salaries) 『How is it that some women are such high earners? I've often reflected that I already work hard and I can't imagine working yet even harder in order to reach a six-figure income. However, high-earning women don't necessarily work harder (at some point you just get worn out), they work smarter. This book dispels that myth and a number of others surrounding high earning women. I had several "ah-ha!" moments reading this book and learned some new strategies to do things differently in order to achieve a higher level of success. However, I would also advise readers to read this in conjunction with a book on personal finance (perhaps one specifically for women, like Lois Frankels's Nice Girls Don't Get Rich: 75 Avoidable Mistakes Women Make with Money). One disappointing finding from this book is that many high-earning women are not good savers. John Locke is probably one of the most important characters on the show, so any person looking to buy some memorobelia for the show, i would definatly recoment either picking up Locke or Jack. This figure comes with the best likeness on any figure i have ever seen. It is uncanny. It also has the best use of accesories, the water bottle(with realistic bubble in the center) and one of Locke's signiture knives. Get this...that is all.』
(Great looking and detailed - Must have for any lost fan) 『This is my favorite of all Lost figures. My wife's favorite is Hruley though. A very detailed figure form MacFarlane toys. The base is Polyresin and its heavy and feels solid. I think the figure is some kind of plastic but it feels and looks good and not plasticky at all. The hatch looks great the leaves look very realistic. And the overall appearence is very good. The head can be moved up or down. The background is cardboard and has unfinished back, so it doesn't look great on a ledge where you can view from both sides. The cardboard is mounted on plastic supports that attaches to the base. I would advise care when assembling. The audio part is a black box that attaches to the base too via the plastic support and this is behind the background cardboard. Needs 2 AAs if I remember it right. There is a small push button that triggers the voice and there are 3 dialogs that play alternately. Attaching the figure to the base was difficult as the attach points are not proprly aligned.』
(good looking. bad quality) 『I saw this toy at the local toys r us for only $3.00 so i decided that i had to buy it. the toy it self looks really nice and very realistic. the first problem i had was that there were no directions and putting the thing together was a real pain! and then as im putting the toy together the left arm fell right off. i taped it back on but it keeps falling off..i guess i got what i payed for... but if your spending 30 something dollars i recommend getting something more worthwhile!』
(Amazing Figure...but I still have a complaint) 『I spotted this John Locke figure in Spencers a few days ago and had to have it. I took it back to our house and immediately opened it up. I kept thinking how amazing it is going to look on our dvd shelf. Well the first thing I noticed was that it didnt come with any AAA batteries that was needed to operate the voice box. Which wasnt the end of the world because I just happened to have some in the droor. I was very impressed by the detail that was put into this figure. Here are my 2 biggest complaints though.
1. NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to put the backdrop up. I fumbled with that stupid thing for over 10 minutes before figuring out the right way to display it.
2. The voice box is really a waste of time. I mean yeah it says 3 phrases from the show, but I could have really done without it. If anything not including it would have lowered the price by a couple bucks.
But overall it is a great display figure and it looks amazing on my dvd shelf.』
(John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) discovers the hatch on "LOST") 『Let me start off by saying there are not enough bald-headed action figures in this world and that most of what are out there are basketball players. Here we have John Locke from the ABC Television series "Lost," played by Terry O'Quinn, looking at the door of the hatch first discovered at the end of "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues," but probably representing the excavation Locke and Boone did during the next episode, "Whatever the Case May Be." The character of Locke has the same name as the English philosopher who developed his social contract theory as an alternative to the Hobbesian state of nature. Since the show also has (Danielle) Rousseau and (Desmond) David Hume, there is obviously some sort of dialectic developing with these characters that can only be appreciated by doctoral students in epistemology (I like the thought of philosophy professors having this Locke figure in their office someplace).
The sculpt of O'Quinn's face is one of the best that McFarlane has turned out to date. The figure only has three points of articulation: the neck and halfway on the upper arm (right below the shift sleeves). There are lots of interesting possibilities for posing the head but rather limited options with the arms. In his left hand Locke has a water bottle and in his right one of his many knives; both of them are bound to the figure's hands by those little strips of plastic McFarlane likes to use (but the knife slips out pretty easily, so watch it). My only real complaint is that there were no instructions on how to put the jungle background behind the figure of Locke. First of all I should point out that what you see on the box (and elsewhere) showing a flat backdrop with a green piece of plastic running along the top is NOT what you actually get here. The backdrop is now curved, giving more of a diorama look. The two long black pieces of plastic are the vertical supports and the two somewhat curved ones are the top and bottom (the one with the spikes jutting out is the bottom). You have to remove the three little plugs (although you only need two). The vertical pieces go into the front of the bottom and the back of the top; then you slide the jungle backdrop into place and put the two slots into the little perforated holes in the backdrop and then slide the whole thing into place against the base. It sounds complicated but if I can do it, then you can too (but instructions would have been nice).
Along with the figure and the base there is a full-scale replica of Locke's Walkabout Brochure Cover ("Fair Dinkum Deals!) and a little black box with authentic sound clips of Locke saying things like "Do you wanna know a secret?" and "Don't tell me what I can't do! Ever!" The sound box is like three inches square and it takes a while for somebody like me to get the screw undone to put in the batteries to punch the little button and hear the sound clips. You do not put the base on top of the sound box because then you cannot push the magic button, but after hearing the sound clips a couple of time what happens to the box will not matter. Also included in the "LOST" Series 1 set of figures form McFarlane are Kate, Jack, Charlie, Hurley, and Shannon, as well as a deluxe mini-diorama boxed set (with light-up feature). I can understand getting the complete collection, but why you would want enough batteries to run all of the sound boxes simultaneously is beyond me.』 『Mcfarlane Toys 6" Lost Series 1 with Sound&Props - Locke』
