Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Classic) 『The plot of Stag is straight-forward: a bunch of yuppies, and fringey friends they hang with for show, hire two strippers for a bacholor party. One of the strippers is killed on accident. They try a cover-up, but the second stripper is not cooperating. They debate killing her, letting her go, and holding her kid for ransom.
These guys are rich, powerful, and corperate. Their lives are very important--to them. They can't lose what they have worked for, because it is how they define themselves. Right and wrong does not apply here. Besides, why should they conceede anything for a working girl. Only one of them is the voice of reason.
Obviously, you are not supposed to like, or even empathize, with these guys. The point of Stag is taking regular people, putting them in an unthinkable situation, and watching their reaction.
As a viewer, you would hope you would handle this differently, and if this does not occur to you, you probably have less of a soul than these guys. But Stag is more a study about fight/flight and mob pshycology than it is answering moral questions.
Stag also implies a class battle: seeing how these rich charactors can delude themselves into making the blue collar stripper sub-human. It is only through their narcisisim--basing their human worth on status-that they can jusify their actions.
They are in this situation, of course, because they never had a better moral compass to begin with. They are still frat-brats: they just have cars and houses now. Take that away, and they have nothing, inside or out.
Great film.
As to the partiers, except for one, string all the f---ers up.

(Don't kill the stripper at your friends bachelor party. Especially when Frank Costanza's your neighbor) 『The ABC channel has a strong reputation for fine quality tv programs, but is known for something very different in Sid's opinion. It's known for showcasing some of the finest b out there you'd probably never stumble upon otherwise. Now you may have never noticed this but Sid sure has. There is a small window late Saturday and Sunday nights where they'll show a late night flick nine times out on ten being super b. We caught Red Line on it one Saturday night if your questioning this claim. Even that one were the guy trapped a thief in the car in his garage, in which we can't remember the title to. The list goes on and on. Which brings us to our d list extravaganza called Stag starring; Jerry Stiller aka Frank Costanza, washed up Andrew McCarthy aka Blane McDonnagh , the old Talk Soup host John Henson (the guy with the spot on his hair), Mario Van Peebles, the kid from Surviving the Game whose dad forced him to be there, Kevin Dillon aka Johhny Drama Chase, and Ben Gazzara aka the immortal Brad Wesley!
The deal with this one is revolved around a bachelor party gone very wrong. This guy Victor is thrown a surprise bachelor party by his business partner Mario Van Peebles. Mario invites a bunch of guy's from Victor's past who he hasn't seen n a while including a drug addicted Andrew McCarthy (which probably wasn't too far of a character stretch at that point). These balloon heads wind up getting hammered drunk and accidentally kill one of the strippers. The whole situation spirals out of control and they hold the remaining stripper hostage and try to keep neighbor Frank Costanza to stop popping by.
This one was b to the max. It had that fantastic grainy 90's action/drama look which fits so well late at night. It really brought Sid back to the good times when these were the flicks were caught on a regular basis thanks to the forgotten cable channels. It even had a couple breast thrown in which would've kept Santa up for a little while. This one was gold in a b sense containing maybe the largest d list cast Sid have seen yet to date. It was one of those time you keep spotting people, but this time it just didn't seem to end. Awesome! This is absolutely one we would have done back in the good times.』
(A little jewel indeed!) 『This movie is so cleverly written, that simply can stop take your eyues off the screen at any minute. The sequences are all tied together, one climax suceeds the other... It's a shame it did not get the recognition it deserved.』
(Starts slow but ends with a bang) 『Saw this movie only once a long, long time ago, and have been trying to figure out all these years what the movie was. After trying Very Bad Things (which is a very bad, annoying film) I finally put all the pieces together and found the DVD. It starts much slower than I remembered, and I didn't recall Taylor Dane being in the flick (man, is she ugly...why use her, anyway? There are millions of beautiful, sexy actresses to choose from. What a lame choice!)
Anyway, great performances by everyone (except for Taylor Dane, who also can't act.) Superb characters and interesting, real dialogue that keeps you engrossed. Once everything comes crashing down and the drama really unfolds, the intensity of the acting is enthralling and magnetic; you really feel like you're there with those guys. What's great is, I could relate to nearly all the characters, and some I hated, some I sympathized with, others I felt indifferent toward. Really nice when the director and actors can pull off exactly what's needed to elicit these kinds of reactions and emotions from the audience.
I would've given it a higher rating if the beginning wasn't such a struggle to get through. The first 20 minutes of setup is a bit weak and pointless. The characters do such a tremendous job with the material that the whole videocam intro of each person is meaningless and redundant; about 90% of what's intimated in the videocam highlights are later outright expressed by the actors. It was a boring waste of 15 minutes of film.
Here are some recommedations for "guy" flicks to watch at night: Judgment Night, The Trigger Effect, Cube/Cube 2, Midnight Express, Alien/Aliens, Lifepod, Deep Rising, Master and Commander, The Boys Next Door, Training Day.』
(Best kept secret) 『If you like movies like pulp fiction, reservior dogs, you'll like stag. It's brillant, having a good time and a good party can go really bad and no one is allow to leave the party until it's over. panic, finger pointin, it reminds me of "very bad things" another crazy flick when guys go to vagas to have a bachelor party and things get out of hand, very bad, but good movie and funny. Check this one out it's a keeper.』 『Please Note: This item is part of the Direct Service range. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Transformers Fun) 『Bought this for our son, 12 yrs., a transformers fan. He loves a challenge which he found in this item. At first it frustrated him as he encountered some difficulty, but he took a break then he persevered and now tranforms it with ease. He enjoys playing with it as well. Transformers has good educational value because it helps to develop one's motor skills, helps them to think and resolve a task and to have patience as it was not easy to transform at first.』
(One of my new favorite movie figures) 『I'd been interested in the Sideswipe figure since seeing him in a department store for the first time a couple of months ago, but I recently found my old G1 figures packed away at my parent's house and those had temporarily taken my attention away from buying any of the new ROTF figures. I finally purchased Sideswipe when I found him on sale a couple of days ago, and he is now one of my favorite figures from either of the two live-action Transformers movies.
First of all, the sculpt of this figure is excellent, both in vehicle mode and in robot mode. Although he doesn't look much like the Sideswipe I grew up with, I wouldn't change this figure's appearance in any way. He is very sleek looking in robot mode, and just has a great design, all the way from his head sculpt to the legs and arms. The blades in his arms look great, and have a very cool way of moving from front to back.
As others have said, there are some fairly large seams in vehicle mode, but when transformed correctly, this is still an excellent looking vehicle mode. It takes just the right "snap" here and there to get the arms and feet back into place for vehicle mode, but when done correctly, it's a solid looking Corvette concept car.
One negative that I've found with Sideswipe is that the chest does not actually "click" into place with the torso when he's transformed into robot mode (at least with my figure). While the chest does rest over the peg at the top of the torso, it pops up very easily. I've watched a few online video reviews of Sideswipe and I've noticed the same issue in those reviews, and as another reviewer mentioned here on Amazon, you can see this in the picture at the top of the product page.
Finally, the transformation is very good. It's not as good as the transformation for the ROTF Movie Leader Optimus Prime or Ultimate Bumblebee, but it is one of the better transformations of all of the movie figures I own, especially in the deluxe class line.
If it weren't for the big seams in vehicle mode and the chest/torso issue I mentioned above, I would give this figure 5 stars. Those are minor flaws compared to the excellent design and fun of this figure, so I would highly recommend buying it if you're considering adding it to your collection.』
(Sideswipe Review) 『This is a perfect gift for younger children probably around the age of 9 to 13. Easy to transform back and forth from robot to vehicle. No small parts to swallow. It looks awesome in both vehicle and in robot form.』
(Very cool) 『Good looking and a nice addition to my growing collection. However, I have noticed that the ROTF toys seem to be built cheaper than the first movie toys...... rough edges, paint missing, etc.』
(A great deluxe figure) 『This is a great action figure. He looks really good in both vehicle and robot mode. For a smaller figure (compared to voyager, leader class) he's pretty detailed and is very similar to the movie version as far as accuracy goes. As a robot he has a good range of movenent and articulation. If you don't get the Human Alliance version, get this one.』 『SIDESWIPE was built to fight. He is sleek, fast, and single-minded in battle, focusing on his enemy with absolute attention. His blades are a shining blur in the air as he leaps through the air, twisting to avoid enemy fire. Converting from vehicle to robot at blinding speed, he uses every trick in the book to get close to his opponent, and put his powerful swords to work. Team up with this AUTOBOT ally and get ready to take on DECEPTICON forces! Unleash shifting battle armor courtesy of MECH ALIVE gearing in robot mode. And dont forget to deploy his fierce-looking blades for extra battle power! Then, with a few twists and turns, change the robot figure to a super sleek Corvette Stingray concept car in vehicle mode and get ready to roll out!』

I thought this one was great--bringing home the truth that God wanted to reward our faithfulness, but the way is not easy. Trust in the Lord is required even when we don't understand and the decisions are not popular. I was a little confused about where Rahab fits in by this book, but it was probably my faulty memory. Rivers does her research.』
(Very pleased) 『We've enjoyed this audiobook very much. The narrator and narration are top notch and entertaining. The story has really brought to life this story from the Bible that we've been familiar with all my lives. It has helped my husband and I to understand and put more into perspective the Bible accounts and characters. Very glad we purchased this audiobook.』
(Caleb's the man!) 『Before reading this story I had never paid much attention to Caleb. Now I don't know how I ever overlooked him. His faithfulness to God truly is encouraging to the reader. I wish the book had been longer, I didn't want to stop reading about him!』
(Caleb, the greatest of the Jews.) 『THE WARRIOR by Francine Rivers is the second of a five part series. I was a little disappointed with the first book in the series, The Priest, but volumes 2 and 3 (yes, I read them out of order) have been extraordinary and a welcome return to what I've come to expect from this very gifted writer. This one follows the story of Caleb, the half-breed from the tribe of Judah who, after the death of Moses, would become not only the greatest warrior of the twelve tribes of Israel, but I believe also God's most dedicated servant of a generation.
Caleb undoubtedly possessed the most unwavering faith among the Jews and this book closely chronicles his struggle, not just with his own sin, but with his inability to sway the people who, over and over, so quickly turned away from their Almighty deliverer. Caleb spent his life, when not destroying the idol-worshippers which infested the promised land, desperately reminding the people of God's grace upon them. Caleb's was a life surely mired in frustration as he watched not one, not even two, but three generations turn away from the Lord God.
Though Joshua is so often the one remembered of the generation of Jews delivered into the land, it was Caleb who was the strength of the people, often standing alone on the side of God. And though even his twelve sons would disappoint Caleb, near the end of his life it would be his one daughter who would give him hope for the future of the Jews.
Once again, Francine Rivers takes the reader through the stories of the Bible in intricate detail, adding narrative, but never venturing from the details.
Pastor Monty Rainey 』
(Spectacular Storytelling) 『The Warrior by Francine Rivers continues her biblical men of faith series--Sons of Encouragement. I have read all Francine Rivers' books and have never been disappointed. I was delighted to learn "The Last Sin Eater" is in feature-length film production.
The hero of our current story is Caleb, warrior of God. The first paragraph--"Run!"--hooked me and I reluctantly inserted my bookmark when other duties called. Kelubai's--Caleb's given name--belief in God begins when in the throes of one of the disasters rained down on Egypt because Pharaoh wouldn't let God's people go. "The God of the Hebrews could turn water to blood and call forth frogs... Here was a God he could worship." He runs to the Hebrews, led by Moses, and asks for acceptance for him and his family to exit Egypt with them. But the Hebrews, just beginning on their journey into the desert, look down their nose at him and tell him no, since he is but a half-breed and descended from the lineage of Esau. When asked his name and he replies, "Kelubai," they jeer and call him Caleb -- dog. Not taking "no" for an answer, he and his family tag along on the fringe of the huge exodus. Finally accepting the name Caleb, his love for God and following His commandments eventually earn him a standing in the community.
When the Jews reach the Jordan River, Caleb is chosen to represent the tribe of Judah to spy out the land with a member of each of the other eleven tribes. Also among the twelve is his young friend, Joshua. For forty days the spies surreptitously inspect the land of Canaan and its people. When returning, they all say how wonderful and fertile the land is; the magnificent crops--some of which they've carried back as witness to the rich fertileness of the land. But ten say the people are too big, too well defended and there is no way they can take the land from them. Caleb and Joshua, however, say God has given them this land; they must fight for it and drive out the Canaanites. They must obey God. But the people don't listen and God returns them to the desert to wander for almost forty years because of their unbelief, disobedience, and complaining. The only two of the current adult generation who will be allowed into Canaan are Caleb and Joshua--the entire adult population dies during the forty years of wandering in the desert.
Francine Rivers has penned a marvelous and poignant story of one man's desire to be all that he can be for God. She's taken the scriptures and brought them alive. And she's done it beautifully. One can't miss the parallels of our own lives and Caleb's, nor God's call to respond to Him as Caleb did. Absolute obedience, no matter the cost. 』 『This second book in the Sons of Encouragement series shares a fictionalized account of Caleb, a man whose faith and zeal for God and encouraging of Joshua helped lead God's people into the Promised La』

Weinberg has been a favorite of mine since I first ripped through a copy I found on my father's book shelf in early 80's. I subsequently reattacked it late one evening in the early 90's. Over the past 20 years I have returned to it over and over again and have provided many copies along with its powerful yet exceedingly simple message to the members of the analytic teams I have had the privilege to assemble and lead. The message...Are your light's on? Are you awake? Are you able to use your brain before you engage your gears? Or as Tom Watson the founder of IBM has beckoned us to do, THINK!
There are six chapters in this book. Each chapter takes between 15 and 20 minutes to read. An average reader should be finished in less than two hours. For the cost of a movie, perhaps $8 bucks, and a similar time commitment I suggest that the lessons within this book are more powerful per dollar than anything I have ever read. For me the revelations are almost spiritual in nature. I've had mixed reactions from team members to whom I have shared its message. Some think it's cute-- it is. Some believe it's a book about problem solving-- it's not. Some are insulted by the implication--they should be, and alas some have never found the time to actually read it--that's a crying shame. Those who have seen the light share in a new found wealth. Those who have not will remain in the dark. ARE your lights on? Are your LIGHTS on? Are your lights ON? Are YOUR lights on?
』
(Sometimes the best solution one person can apply to a problem is to do nothing) 『Professor of Systems Science Donald Gause and consultant Jerry Weinberg first published Are Your Lights On? How to Figure Out What the Problem Really Is in 1982; the wisdom therein remains as desperately needed today as it was twenty-five years ago. Are Your Lights On? offers no-nonsense problem solving advice, starting with the critical first step of learning how to see a problem as it really is - which is not necessarily how one's clients or one's first impression define it. Sometimes the best solution one person can apply to a problem is to do nothing - in other words, refrain from solving another person's problem when it is readily apparent they can solve it for themselves just fine. Numerous real-world examples dot this thoughtful guide to becoming more observant, as well as honing and balancing both reason and intuition. "Though many problems must be solved in haste, beware of someone pushing you to hurry. Late in the resolution process, haste makes mistakes; in the first few minutes, haste makes disasters... We never have enough time to do it right, but we always have enough time to do it over." Highly recommended.』
(If you need this book, your problem is bigger than you think) 『A teacher assigned this book in a research methods class I took this semester, and I seriously can't recall a single more waste-of-time reading assignment. I really didn't take anything away from this that I didn't already know and the ridiculous stories meant to teach a lesson were just insulting. This simplistic, reductionist "textbook" should never have been assigned in a graduate level research class. The only thing I got out of it were a few laughs with my friends over the sheer idiocy of it all.』
(Great Insight on Problem Solving) 『The book is about problem solving. The authors are famous for their great insight in computer programming and problem solving. Rather than stating the 10 Commandments of problem solving, the authors took a long but more effective way. They tell a story in each section to end up with a sparkling insight. The book is very unique in the way of presenting the idea and insight - An illustration in every couple of pages, bold and capitalized texts all over to emphasize, a list of possible actions or solutions along with multiple choices, a brilliant sense of humor, etc. What they accomplished with such attempt is readers' attention and impact on their lessons to give.』
(What's the problem?) 『This is a very effective guidebook to problem solving.
The book is a fast&easy read; it's whimsical, sometimes even annoyingly so, but it addresses a lot of overlooked or discounted aspects of problem solving that often cause us to miss the mark.
By providing well chosen examples this book shows us a better perspective on the importance of problem definition, ownership, and point of view. It even challenges us to consider whether the problem should be solved at all. The examples are fiction, but as with all good fiction, they contain a kernel of truth but the facts can be manipulated to better show how point of view and problem ownership can alter the nature of the problem and thus render one solution better than another. These "problems" are designed so that the reader does not become distracted by the problem itself and lose focus of the principles of the problem solving process being shown
I found it interesting and helpful to see how solving one problem can cause another problem to surface or how solving one problem can create a new problem for others.
The specific problem that gave rise to the name of this book was very well presented and showed how a real understanding of the true nature of a problem can lead to knowing exactly what is needed for a really good solution.

I won't say much about the poem itself since most people should know how great it is, and there is very little I could add to the plethora of commentary and reviews of this masterpiece. I am really rating the super high quality edition. Beautiful dust jacket hard cover book, with bold red inner cover page with red ribbon bookmark. The pages are high qualitiy, with classic font for each book. There is also the great classic art work. I highly recommend this edition.』
(For those who love their bookshelf) 『This is a gorgeous book. This is not an edition of PL to drag to class and write essays out of. Rather, it is a work of craftsmanship targeting bookworms and bibliophiles alike to be enjoyed in a recliner with just enough light - but not too much - and affectionately pointed to on the shelf.
Main criticisms of this edition would be the lack of notes and Phillip Pullman's Satan-favoring commentary.
As for #1, I found the lack of notes to be very LIBERATING, rather than limiting. I constantly find myself, while reading complex works such as PL, thumbing to the back of a Penguin Classics volume for the end-notes whilst sitting in front of Wikipedia in order to fully absorb every mythological or otherwise obscure reference.
Reading this poem without any intense academic commitment of the aforementioned sort forced me to read it for the language and nothing else - a worthwhile endeavor.
As for #2, I found Pullman's commentary to be excellent. I can sympathize with the situation of one finding his comments incorrect and having the edition somewhat poisoned as a result. However, Pullman constantly reminds us - especially in a poignant passage at the end - that his is only one way of viewing the work, among a multitude.
His comments before each book are limited to one concise paragraph and are generally worthwhile and occasionally illuminating. Whether or not one feels Pullman's view of Satan is worthwhile, it is hard to escape his assertion that Milton could have disposed of such a giant character better, and one finds themselves pondering Pullman's views as they proceed through the work.
The last thing I would say about Pullman's role is that he urges us to read the poem out loud, as he feels it was meant to be experienced. I took his advice half-heartedly, mumbling it to myself in order to, as Pullman implies, 'feel' the poem. I would say it was effort well spent.
Oh, also, this book looks Damn good.』
(Epic and daring, the God of Genesis is revealed) 『This magnificent book was recommended to me by a dear friend through another review here on Amazon.com. For that recommendation I am grateful due to the pleasure that I have received from it. I enjoyed the audio book rather than the printed version, and as one who listens to hundreds of audio books, I can say that this production through the talent of Anton Lesser, produces dramatic results.
The book, this epic poem, is so beautifully written that it would be a pleasure to read, or listen to, even if the actual content was in some way lacking. But, the content is anything but lacking. For me, Milton points out that God is vengeful, jealous, and ego-driven, almost as though he were human. What father would pronounce the death sentence on his child for eating fruit from a tree (albeit "forbidden fruit")? What father would banish their child from Eden for that same offense? None that I know. Milton shows the God of the Genesis to be harsh and cruel while staying true to scripture.
If you are looking for a book that is beautiful to read, and thought-provoking to ponder, then look no further.
Best wishes, Kevin 』
(the master) 『Milton is the gold standard. Has anything better been written since? I love contemporary poetry, don't get me wrong, but when I get tired of it I go back to Wordsworth and Milton to remind myself of how high the mountaintop is. This is also a beautiful edition, an excellent addition to anyone's library.』
(A cosmic battle) 『I used the Norton critical edition edited by Scott Elledge
We will discover in these pages a profound rendering of the cosmic battle between good and evil, man's fall through disobedience to God, and Satan's perversion on mankind.
Each line serves a purpose, so in order to inhale this sublime poem to its fullest it will be necessary to slow down. Immensely valuable to understanding this difficult poem is the editor's explanatory summery going into each of the twelve books (chapters) and the numerous footnotes.
The second half of the book contains a biography, an historical evolution, other writings, and a critical analysis of Milton by multiple revered authors with a wide degree of beliefs.
Wish you well Scott』 『Publisher:
A retelling of the biblical story of mankinds fall from grace, Miltons epic opens shortly afterthe dramatic expulsion of Satan and his army of angels from Heaven. What follows is a cosmic battle between good and evil that ranges across vast, splendid tracts of time and space, from the wild abyss of Chaos and the fiery lake of Hell to the Gate of Heaven and Gods newly created paradise, the Garden of Eden. Controversy still swirls around Miltons magnificent and sympathetic characterization of Satan, a portrait so compelling that many critics have maintained that he is the true hero of the story.』

『Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl (Pokémon Diamond and Pearl) are the two fourth-generation Pokemon role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. They are the first of the traditional Pokemon role-playing games for the Nintendo DS video game console. Released in Japan in 2006, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl hadthe best launch week of all games in the Pokemon series in Japan, and also had the best launch week for any Nintendo DS game in Japan. [1] Set in the fictional region of Sinnoh, the games cover the adventure of a single protagonist embarking on a quest to capture and train Pokemon while simultaneously thwarting the agenda of the criminal organization "Team Galaxy". The mascots of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were confirmed as Dialga and Palkia, like Groudon and Kyogre or Ho-oh and Lugia before them, when box art for the games was released in late June. Dialga represents Diamond, as its name suggests, and Palkia represents Pearl, following in the trend of the past two generations. ===== Diamond and Pearl feature Wi-Fi connectivity with the upcoming Wii title Pokemon Battle Revolution.』 タイトル『 New Jersey Devils Mr Potato Head >

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (My Fave bra in the whole world!) 『I've tried on at least 100 different bras on in my young life and now I can finally quit the search. This bra does everything that I'm ask for ... um but be careful with one thing there sizes seem to be a bit off compared to most other bras but since I've been buying this brand + style for years I've become quite adapted.』
(a lttle mature?) 『This bra is very very comfortable, and it wears well under clothing, but it looks 'a little matronly' on.』 『Lilyette by Maidenform has created this soft cup bra using spacer-lined microfiber.
