It was sloppily compiled with no information as to where each skater ranked or what skate they were performing before showing each piece. They told who the winners were upfront, there was absolutely no suspence and they left out many of the top performances. They should take a lesson from Bud Greenspan's videos where some background information is given and there is a build up to the final outcome. I think someone wanted to make some money and just half heartily slapped some performances together. Too bad...they didn't do justice to the many surprising and outstanding skating performances of this Olympics.』
(Good skating) 『I bought this DVD because I wanted to see Sarah Hughes' out-of-this-world long program. It was great. Overall, watching this DVD was not as good as watching the skating live on TV. The comentary wasn't bad, but it was a little too dramatic considering most viewers already know the outcomes. There wasn't quite enough skating. I want to see Sarah's short program too. And Sasha Cohen's. Also some of the footage from behind the scenes was cut out that I really enjoyed when I was watching it on TV. I would have liked to see it again.
This DVD is not bad, but not fabulous. If you have no record of the skating, and want to see the medal winners' long programs, this will suffice. I am glad I got it because at least I have something to remember the Salt Lake figure skating by.』
(Very good highlights, but much missing) 『This DVD contains 90 minutes of figure skating competition highlights, taken directly from NBC's broadcasts during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. NBC Sports commentator Beth Ruyak provides very good narration.
True to big-media form, this production gives virtually all its time to "quest for the gold" stories, which means that, in both video and commentary, the viewer experiences very little other than the circumstances involved with achieving medals. The only complete skating routines shown are of contestants vying for a gold medal, and in the case of the singles skating performances, you only get to see the long programs. With the exception of the women's singles skating competition, no more than two or three individuals/pairs are featured. I would have enjoyed seeing more complete routines, especially those of the short program for singles; also, the continued sorrow over Michelle Kwan not winning a gold medal was tiring. She's awesome . . . period.
The good news is that a major television network can employ top-notch cameramen to go along with the latest technology, so the result is a brilliant picture virtually all the way through. The sound is very good as well. If one could call missing things a plus, I'm thankful that there was very little commentator speculation about the skating order, emotional state of the competitors, judges' scoring, etc. Another positive is that the breaks between skating routines are short and informative. I was also pleased that the time in the "kiss and cry" area (where skaters can wave to the camera and/or pass sign language messages to their friends back home) was kept to a minimum.
Unfortunately, there are no DVD "extras" at all. The opening screen has but one option: "PLAY," and with only four chapters encompassing the events, quick forwarding to your favorite routines isn't possible.
Overall, this is a decent DVD, suitable for your sports/skating library. 』

My husband and I have had so much fun playing with Buzz, and my 11 month old is in love with him. I don't think there will be another Buzz as cool as this one, and if you're in the market for a Buzz Lightyear, I can't recommend this version enough.
I don't know if we have the Talkback mode completely figured out yet, but it's a lot of fun. His helmet makes sounds when you open and close it. He shoots his laser. He responds to your voice-- if it's too loud, he'll tell you to quiet down (which is HILARIOUS when my 11 month old was screaming while holding on to him). I never get tired of opening his wings and having him fly-- if you tilt him horizontally and zoom him around, he'll make flying noises. It's so much fun! Another really neat feature is that all of his fingers move-- I was surprised about that!
We have had to fix Buzz a couple times. Once, his front helmet piece fell off, and luckily I was able to put it back on without cracking it. His wings can easily become dislodged, but so far I've been able to fix that, too. I don't know how much rough play Buzz can handle before something breaks for good, but we'll try to be careful.』

The first time I read it, I went through section by section, skipping the Fantasy chapter (my favorite genre) and saving it for last. Two weeks later, I went back through it, paging quickly through some and lingering over others with my magnifying readers on, soaking in the fine details. Last week, I went through looking for the pieces I liked the best and using the index to identify all that artist's dolls in the book to see if their whole style was to my taste, or just a particular work. I think next, I'll go through with yellow stickies and mark the ones I like best and then rank them.
Seriously, this book is that good! I don't like all the dolls in the book - it would be weird if I did. I hate looking at some of them in fact. But I've NEVER gotten this much satisfaction out of a book because I've never seen a book like this. 500 dolls...page after page of them. That's a treasure trove for a person like me who loves art dolls, and loves LOVES picture books.

My daughter was 7 when we bought this book. She was able to do some of the easier string games without a lot of help. Some of the more difficult ones she needed help with and was unable to do them by herself.
This is the kind of book where you learn one trick, work for a while to master it, then go back and try another one. If you try to sit and just work your way through the book all at once, I think you might find it moves in difficulty much faster than you might like.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not so super) 『My brother-in-law who lives in the states, bought this 4 me, because I'm a big fan of the Steelers&also a big collector of the McFarlane's Steelers figures. Actually I was kinda waiting on something with 1 Steelers figure&1 Cardinals figure duo just like the way McFarlane's has done 4 the previous Super Bowls, but I guess they've decided 2 go with 2 Steelers figures this time.
When I received it I was excited, but when I looked at it carefully I felt cheated little bit.
1. It's the first Santo's figure. When it was suppose 2 B showing the last minute super catch, it was different. It looked like Santo is catching a ball that's falling down, instead of the ball that's been thrown 2 him.
2. The Ben I got sucks beyond imagination. Somehow the 1 I got has braces on on his left feet. WTH was that all about?&it's not even original McFarlane figure, I think it came out as either Brown's or Bengals QB figure 1st, but they just changed the unis&helmet&BOOM it's the Steelers Ben. How pathetic.
3. Both figures missing the players' personal numbers&the US flag on the back of their helmets.
Not that happy. I don't know if I would keep buying the McFarlane's anymore. I'd rather have those figures done by the custom figure makers like ALLSTAR.』
(Not Quite the Super Bowl Catch) 『As a huge Steeler fan, I hoped that McFarlane would make a Holmes figure duplicating the amazing Super Bowl catch. Yes, to my knowledge this is the first Holmes figure and it is close to a pose of the actual catch. The Roethlisberger figure is the same as one released early this year, but with a white jersey.
McFarlane figures usually have lots of small details, but these figures are missing some key details. The SBXLIII patch is not on their jerseys. Holmes had a white towel in his belt on his left hip on the play, the towel is missing from the figure. The bottoms of his shoes were gold in the game, on the figure they are black.
I will keep the figures and display them, but they are not what I had hoped for.』
