Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Quick) 『I needed something to hang on my wall for CD's, DVD's, etc. as I only have limited space. I could not use anything that required hammer and nails or drilling due to the electrical cords within the walls. So..this was just what I wanted. Great for CD's, but a little small for DVD's with their covers. It handles DVD's without the cover, but didn't want to put them in the holder without protection. If the DVD is in a jacket, then it works well for DVD's. Easy to apply...just stick it on the wall. And, you can keep on adding as needed. Don't know how it will be if I need to remove it later...will it remove paint too? Don't know..I just know that it serves its purpose for me now. Would be great for people in dorms or have limited floor space.』 『Revolutionary 10 slot storage rack helps you find your media faster, cleans up clutter and reclaims your living space by moving your media colections off your desk, tabletop, or floor, and monting them onto your walls, monitor, computer tower, stereo cabinets, desk legs and more. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Exactly what I needed) 『I recently bought a Blackberry and was annoyed when none of the headsets I already own fit the phone's input jack. The headset buddy is exactly what I needed--I didn't have to spend $30 (or more) to buy a new headset for my phone--I just plug my old headset into this, and I'm all set. I only give it four stars because the connection to my phone isn't always perfect: I can plug it in what seems like all the way and then have to fiddle with it while I'm making a call before I can hear anything in my ear piece. Don't know if that's a flaw in the product or a flaw in my phone, but seems like a phone jack shouldn't need any fiddling to work. But that only happened the first few times and now it seems to work with no problem.』 『Look at our Seller 5-Star Rating!

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Gets the job done) 『Had this for a few months now. Tight fitting case that's a shade too small for the iPhone 3GS. Single velcro closure on the top seems inadequate and it may give out over time. But the tight fit keeps the phone in place. The velcro on the armband is not continuous. It has little patches of velcro circles. The armband size is fine for larger arms. My wife has hers on the smallest setting and it stays secure during workouts. The plastic face on the sleeve face is a bear to work with. It grabs onto the iPhone as you try to slide it in and out. Either plan on leaving it in or do as I did. I cut it out to so the phone would actually slide in and out and to also prevent moisture build up between the plastic and the phone (condensation would form on muggy southern mornings). Otherwise, it is holding up well and does its job for the price, though you can see where the cost-savings were taken compared to other sport bands. Stitching is solid, no fraying of material or splitting of seams. If you want something versatile and high quality, there are lots of options (I was happy with Marware for years). If you want function at a value price, this is a good choice.』 『This armband allows you to enjoy your iPhone when you are on the go and working out! The enclosed case protects your iPhone from damage, yet the clear plastic cover allows you to operate the touch screen. There are also openings for the volume control, headset and phone speakers. The sturdy and durable straps support the weight of the iPhone and provide a secure fit around your arm. If you are expecting an important call while exercising, the velcro strap can be easily taken off and the device is operational through the armband, or you can unsnap the case and pull out the iPhone . Perfect for outdoor use, exercising and working around the home and yard.Includes Screen Protector for iPhone

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great product for iPhone users!) 『I have been looking for the perfect stand to use with my iPhone and now I am not looking anymore. It is perfect to use when I want to show friends and family my photo slideshows. I also found the Tiko stand to be the solution to hold my iPhone on airplanes when I watch a movie during one of many flights each month. I have tried many other iPhone stands but find this one is best suited for my needs. I give it the highest rating.』
(Simplicity at its finest!!) 『Having purchased several stands ranging in price from $3.99 to just under $50.00, this stand is the only one that I have since ordered more of. In fact, I've placed two separate orders for a total of five more of them. That way, I can have one in my backpack, one on the nightstand beside the bed, the wife has one at work and that still leaves a few to give as gifts for some of our gadget loving friends and family. The stand is very stable and works equally well in portrait or landscape mode. We use them with our iPhones 3Gs and iPod Touches. The stand works great whether we have them in a case or not. I purchased black Tiko stands but they have other colors as well (green, orange and white). I chose the black because I felt that it would blend better with the iPhones and iPod Touches visually.
Shipping was very prompt and arrived quickly.
This is a simple, cost effective way to have a stand for every place you might want one. I'm quite satisfied with my Tiko stand and will certainly be ordering more of them.』
(Works like a dream on airline tray tables.) 『I help my iPhone for almost an hour to watch a video on a recent trip. After hitting the Apple store and finding out that nothing was available to help me I was about to make a stand out of aluminum for my iPhone. I found this on Amazon and the problem was solved. It packs flat and slips out of the way in a carry on bag. When I needed it, it pops up and holds my iPhone at the perfect (adjustable) angle for easy viewing. Could not be a better design- thanks!』
(Truly pocketable and truly useful. As good as a pocketable gets.) 『This is the best of the pocketable stands for the iPhone&similar devices. It fits comfortably in the pocket yet opens to hold the phone securely at a variety of angles. If it supports at an angle you like it is near perfect. Complaints about flimsiness as well as comparisons with heavy or bulky stands that are not pocketable or even portable are absurd. The stand is truly pocketable, is stable and sturdy, and has plastic hinges that should fold repeatedly for a long time.e.Tiko Fold Travel Stand for iPhone, iPod,&iPod Touch - Black』
(Doesn't live up to its description) 『I thought this stand had possibilities by its product description and from its mostly positive reviews. I have subsequently learned to be more skeptical of both. As it turns out, I do agree with one reviewer who commented that the item was over-priced for what it is: a hard plastic cut-out that, while compact when folded, is limited by its minimal folding angles. Because of the hard plastic material, repeated use of one's iPod Touch (in my instance) could subject the unit to scratching unless it is in its own protective case. If you like to use your Touch for watching movies without draining the battery, the Tiko accommodates horizontal viewing while plugged into the unit's charger and allows the use of headphones. If used in the vertical position you are out of luck. It does not elevate the unit to accommodate a charger or earphone plug-in. The reviewer I cited also has a valid point about the limited viewing angles. I believe the furthest back the Tiko leans is about 60 degrees, too upright while trying to view the Touch close-up while seated at a table. For me, the stand that has everything going for it is the Podium. While the price is considerably more, the Podium elevates the Touch, gives it virtually unlimited viewing angles, is heavier and has protective coatings that will not mar your unit's body. Oh, and it's sharp looking as well. It is not a travel stand, however.』 『This mobile gadget stand is the perfect accessory for on-the-run electronics users.
Conveniently listen to, watch or read from gadgets on planes, trains, at the coffee shop or at a desk. Free your hands, sit back and relax while viewing your media player or other gadgets at one of nine adjustable viewing angles. When its time to pack up, the Tiko Fold quickly folds flat for slipping into a shirt pocket, backpack, purse or computer bag.
The Tiko Fold opens to provide a universal stand designed to hold all models of the iPhone (in both vertical and horizontal orientations), as well as the iPod Classic, iPod Touch (horizontally with headphones), iPod Nano, BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Bold, most video capable cell phones, the Microsoft Zune, Sony PSP and ebook readers such as the Amazon Kindle. Note: devices with round bottoms such as the BlackBerry Curve may not rest stably.
Available in four eye catching colors, the Tiko Fold arrives in easy to open, simple packaging. Zero assembly required and has no attachments to break or lose. 100% designed and manufactured in the USA. U.S. Patent Pending.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Just not what I wanted!) 『The sound quality is very poor. The mic works but many times it doesn't. I wish I had bought the original phone/mic from Apple.』
(Decent Product, Great Price) 『I bought these headphones for $2.31 and for that price, I couldn't have asked for a better product. They work just as advertised for the iPhone, sound isn't bad, and they block out a some extraneous noise. If they break down the road, I will definitely buy another pair.』
(It's pretty good) 『It gives a good amount of volume, so I can hear the person on the phone but the receiver doesn't pick up as good so I end up repeating my self or holding the mic closer to my mouth.』
(good headset) 『This headset has good sound quality the mic works great with the iPhone 2g the ear buds actually stays in my ears unlike all the other ear buds (ear bud style head phones included) I have used and cannot be beat for the price.』
(It's ok) 『Sound isn't great, but works great for the price. Especially good for using with your phone not music.』 『Theses New Stereo Headset give you high quality sound while you listen to music, and the answer button makes it convenient when somebody calls in. They keep your hands free for driving or for doing other tasks at the same time while talking on the phone.』

Pioneer
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Great Receiver for the price!) 『I am, by no means, a tech guy or an avid videophile. I am, however, a musician, that knows what sounds good and what doesn't. So, I was going to get the Geeks, at Best Buy, to set my system up. But, they wanted WAY too much money. So, I got off my lazy butt and read the manual, on how to set it up. The manual was easy to read and understand. I jumped right in, bought the HDTV cables I needed and hooked the thing up! That simple! I have rear surround speakers that I wasn't sure of the polarity, but process of elimination fixed that. My subwoofer was not compatible with this receiver, as it has an RCA plug in. My sub had two regular speaker wires coming out of it. But, even without the sub(which I plan on adding later) the system sounds GREAT. Just like in the theaters! It has IPOD and IPhone USB hookup, which is also GREAT! No need for CD changer! I have my HDTV running through it and the picture is awesome! So, very easy hookup and great performance. By reading the manual for a couple of minutes, I easily figured out how to hook it up, which saved me a LOT of money! One gripe is the remote. It's layed out good, but I wish it had a backlight.』
(Excellent Product) 『The Pioneer receiver is just what we wanted. The manual is difficult to understand but after several attempts we figured out how to connect everything. Our receiver is on an open shelf so we have no issues with overheating.』
(Great AVR with some very useful features) 『The audio and video performance is solid and it has more than enough power for my 7.1 system. The best feature is the totally automatic speaker system calibration. Set the included mic at your center listening positon, press start, and walk away for 5 mins. The receiver runs through a battery of tests on each speaker and sets everything up. You can then go in and review the setup an tweak it if you would like. I increased the sub woofer by 2db (I like to "feel" sonic booms and explosions) and that was it. The manual is a bit overwelhming but I have learned in the past that it is best to get the basic system up and running then in a day or two, go through the manual again and add or tweak the more sophisticated features.
I almost called Pioneer when I got picture but no sound. Went through all of the setting twice and then found that Pioneer's startup setting for volume is low/low. Somewhat embarrassed, I turned the volume up and that solved the problem.
The only complaint I have is that the remote can not learn from another remote and would not accept any of the Directv codes. My Pro-151FD TV remote did not accept the Directv codes either but it has a learning function. I didn't plan on using the AVR remote but it is an issue if you do.
Its a great unit at a reasonable price.』
(TIRED OF LOOKING?) 『I wanted to save someone some time if they were like me... looking for a great receiver at a decent price.
After 2 months of research and three returned products that didn't live up to the hype (other brands) I found what I was looking for.
*Sound quality is unsurpassed even with higher dollar receivers. *Features are more abundant, great for an audiophile but still simple (If you go with defaults and auto setup). *Set up was fairly simple for someone with even basic knowledge. *Remote control is BIG. While I understand simplifying this many features on one remote is tough... there is a lot going on with this remote. Yes, it does the job nicely but it still is "busy".
* HEAT ISSUE: I've heard a lot of people mentioning heat with this unit; let me be clear. Airflow is important in almost all electronic components. There is heat with all decent receivers with any power to them. You SHOULD NEVER fully enclose a receiver or amp that is pushing this kind of power. Heat and buildup should always be a concern. With proper ventillation, this unit disipates fine.
Seperation and range and were exactly what I was looking for and I got it with this product.
This easiliy fills a large room and has a 2nd zone which comes in handy for music on outside speakers.
Compared to many at this price level, this unit seems like quality from every aspect. Looks, materials and performance.
I rarely take time to write reviews but this purchase took me more time than I wanted it to and I thought I would write to try to save you some time if you are in the same position I was.
My humble opinion... If this is your price range, Buy the unit.
I'm glad I did. 』
(Does not live up to a Pioneer) 『This replaced my Pioneer D509S. My D509 was old and controlled audio but had little video or compressed audio ability. Otherwise it was a great, quality product. I had been looking for a replacement from Pioneer for several years (older 101x models). I looked at other brands, but was so impressed with my Pioneer that I wanted to stay with the brand and wait for the right product. Although this model has many of the features I was looking for, it doesn't live-up to the quality and substance I was expecting.
The biggest wins for me are the video switching capabilities, including both audio&video HDMI switching along with up-conversion. The sound is also great, but my ears are old and somewhat short of audiophile quality. Aside from the video switching, one of the biggest features is the Sound Retriever capability that significantly improves the sound of compressed audio files (MP3, IPod, WMA, etc.). I have almost 15,000 MP3s (almost all legally acquired) on a computer that is hooked up to my Receiver and the Sound Retriever difference is substantial (even with my old ears). It definitely gets it back to almost full CD quality. I hadn't noticed how drab they sounded until I had the benefit of this feature. This feature has made the whole receiver worth the investment.
My biggest disappointments are the corners Pioneer has cut on this unit. The first clue is the 5x8 Operations Manual made with cheap, almost tissue thin, off-white paper printed with a very small, thin font. My old manual was 8.5x11, quality white paper with a much larger and far more legible font. My old, dog-eared manual had much wear&tear over the years. It took a licking and kept on ticking for a long time. This one is, at best, of marginal utility because it is so frail and difficult to use (but most of the information is good). My primary issue, however, is how hot it runs. Prior year models weighted about 10lbs more than this one. I believe a lot of that weight included heat-sinks and other heat dissapating features. My unit really runs hot. Fortunately, I am able to direct a small mini-fan over the top which does a great job dissapating the heat. Maybe this unit is up to the heat, but I belive significant heat will reduce the life of the receiver. This issue alone is what dropped my overall rating so much. Finally, the remote, though very functional, seems to be cheaply made. Certainly in comparison to the one for my old D509. That one was built like a tank. This one is more like a cheap toy.
Overall, I think this is a quality receiver. I just can't believe Pioneer puts out a $500 receiver and cheapens it with such low quality accessories... and the heat could be a killer!』 『This hub for your home entertainment center allows you to enjoy your favorite movies on Blu-ray Disc, DVD or VHS on your flat-panel television like never before. With standard features that include a phenomenal ability to upscale and convert analog video signals to 1080p when transmitted through HDMI to your high definition television, the VSX-1019AH-K's video scaler presents you with nothing but the best quality possible today - regardless of what video source it receives. And as portable audio devices are now becoming a primary source of entertainment, it's also why the VSX-1019AH-K is Works with iPhone certified. With this certification comes a myriad of benefits for enjoying your iPhone on the VSX-1019AH-K: easy connectivity with the front USB port and included cable - even charging the device while connected; music and movies are automatically muted with incoming calls (no longer requiring you to put the phone in Airplane Mode); compressed music files are greatly enhanced by Pioneer's exclusive Advanced Sound Retriever technology; Auto Level Control maintains a consistent volume from to song to song and all this control is still possible from the palm of your hand through the iPhone itself or the VSX-1019AH-K's remote.Add the VSX-1019-AH-K's color Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the ability for 2nd zone A/V distribution, and enjoying a Blu-ray Disc movie in the living room while someone else scrolls through iTunes album art while listening to music in a bedroom is all but effortless. But the benefits certainly don't stop there. With 4 HDMI inputs and 2 component video inputs the potential to expand your HD entertainment experience even further is not only a dream come true but also a technical reality.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Don't Buy) 『I got this charger about a year ago. I was working well for a while. But one time I pluged my ipod touch in to it and the screen went blank and wasn't working. So I went to the apple store and got a new one. Today i tried pluging it in with this charger and the same thing happend. That's 2 ipod touches busted by this charger. Now im going to the apple store with the charger to complain. One thing i learned is not to ever trust this charger because all it will cause is abusted ipod.』
(It works well and the price is right) 『I read other reviews that this would not work with the new Ipod Touch - but it works just fine with my new ipod touch 3rd generation (not sure if we got sent different products). When I plug it in, I hear the appropriate ring on my ipod and it shows the charging icon on the screen. I am able to use my ipod while it is charging although its a bit awkward to put the headphones at the same time because of the wide plug in base (I usually take the headphones off before charging it for this reason). I have been using this charger for more than a month now (almost daily) and it works just fine with my new 3rd generation ipod touch. The connection is not as sturdy as the apple cable that connects to my computer, but it works just fine. My only annoyance is a bright light that the plug in has.... I use it in my night stand and the light bothered me.』
(Does what it should) 『This charger seems to work fine for my iPhone 3Gs. I purchased it to replace the original charger I left in a hotel room.
The cord is the same length as the original Apple charger. I would prefer it to be a foot or 2 longer.
The charger has a red LED that is lit when it is plugged in. This is somewhat annoying and unnecessary. I charge the phone on my nightstand when I go to bed and the LED is pretty bright.』
(Amazing and cheap!) 『This is one of the best deals you can find for an ipod wall charger. It's great for travel and home use. I've used it about a dozen times, and it still works great. It's completely compatible with all of my ipod products, including ipod nano and ipod touch. It's also a great power saver. When you use your computer just to charge an ipod, you're wasting a massive amount of electricity. It charges our ipods about twice as fast as our computer...win!
There's also a bright red LED on the charger that lets you know it's plugged in properly.』
(It works!!) 『Okay people, just for the record...
This charger, sold by BargainCell, fits the ipod Touch 2nd Generation only, and NOT the latest ipod Touch 3G...let's get that straight!
It has a tight, secure fit (no jiggles)into the Touch 2nd Gen and charges right away (you hear the Apple "Jwwpuuup" sound)and see the Logo...that means that it is working/charging!
Read my other review(s) on things related with Apple ipod Touch (I also own the 3rd Gen Touch too!)』 『For the professional executive on the go, this charger is a must! The travel charger is lightweight and easy to carry while traveling. Simply plug one end into the wall, the other into your iphone, and it will recharge and condition your battery.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not so good) 『The inner lining almost turned my whole iphone black! I guess that's what you get for such a low price, but there should be a warning that the material bleeds... EVEN WHEN NOT WET!!』
(Lousy belt clip) 『The leather (pleather?!) case is alright, but the major problem is the belt clip. The actual clip is made of a tough non-flexible plastic that just broke after a few times I tried to attach/detach from my belt. I just wanted decent case for my iphone that I could clip to my belt for easy access. Since this broke I'm still looking.』
(Just what I wanted!) 『I got a baby blue flip top case and the exact product I ordered is what I recieved. I like the case, it's good quality leather and soft on the inside. It's not bulky and it looks very stylish. I do think it feels a little wierd talking on my phone while it's in this case, but that's my own personal opinion. It's a great product at a great price!』
(Nice, but no screen protector or belt clip) 『I was excited to receive this before the promised date in July. However, I specifically ordered it as I wanted the belt clip. The one I received doesn't have one or the screen protector as advertised. It's a hassle to return it, so I'm keeping it, but am disappointed. It's cute and I like it, but 3 stars for the difference in product received vs what I ordered.』 『Leather Case for iPhone 3G Protect your iPhone 3G with style. 100% 30 Day Satisfaction Guaranteed. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (great price&product) 『Overall, I am very satisifed with this seller's products and therefore taking my time to write a brief review on all the items that I have purchased.. the family got 3 iphone 3gs's recently and i figured that at ATT it would cost ~90 for each of us to buy one case each so i came online and found this vendor. ordered a lotta cases for the cost of 1 ATT case and am very happy with my choice. this case is smooth to the touch and fitted the 3gs perfectly. it also came with a cover for the iphone as did all the other cases. delivery was prompt - received in 2 days. can't complain and saved a lotta money too!』
(Great Case) 『Received the case a few weeks ago and love it. I have a lot of friends with more expensive cases, but this one was cheaper and better. It's soft to the touch yet hard enough that it fits perfectly and does not stretch or will not let dirt or crumbs inside the case. Would defiantly recommend to others.』
(very cheap piece of plastic) 『What a very cheap, cheap, easily breakable plastic piece of crap. It's not what was described in this item. I was expecting a clear RUBBER cover but what I received was a cheap plastic piece of junk that anybody could buy from any dollar store. I threw it away immediately knowing that it could just scratch my iPhone, the minute I tried this on .Don't you ever dare to try this one. A total waste of money! (Great headphones !!) 『I have 3 sets of these and they are awesome. No issues at all. No call quality issues or background noises during calls. They are great for listening to podcasts and making calls. I would recommend higher quality headphones if you're looking for music listening head phones.
』
(lasted 1 week.) 『I'm fairly particular when it comes to call quality, and this headset does not provide any call quality. People couldn't hear me, the background noise was unbearable to people I called. Then, after a week, the unit fell apart -- plug broke, clip broke. Skip this one.』 『This premium high quality, sturdy Stereo headphone for iPhone is different from the normal 3.5mm audio headphones. The headphone comes with a microphone function for an iPhone and an answer and send button to switch between the MP3/MP4 music function to phone function. It also works well with all models of iPods and is a qualitied and inexpensive replacement for the original apple iPod headphone.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Terrible Manual) 『I just got this unit today and spent twenty minutes sitting with the manual trying to figure it out. I'm halfway there. I sat down this afternoon with a highlighter and really studied the manual. I'm confident that, with another 20 or 30 minutes of set up in the car I'll be good to go.
It also has the dreaded "demo mode" which flashes all sorts of lights and useless information while your trying to set it up. Absolutely maddening! There's a way to turn that off. I'm going to try again tomorrow (page 8 at the very bottom of the list!).
It does have a lot of features, and once I'm set up, I'm sure I'll enjoy the unit. But right now I'm really wishing Apple would tackle the car audio market. I'd pay extra for something that didn't require a manual and a few hours to set up.
FYI "HD Radio Ready" with "Ready" in really small type underneath means this unit DOES NOT have an HD Radio tuner. Bummer.』
(Not worth buying, bass lovers stay away!!) 『I bought this unit to replace the factory stereo in my 2006 Altima. I'm pretty decent with technology, but this unit was extremely difficult to use. The manual was horribly written and hard to understand, and on top of that, the manual was for 3 different Kenwood models, and you had to pay attention to the *'s next to every sentence to figure out which model the manual was actually talking about.
My BIGGEST COMPLAINT about this stereo, however, is not the extremely difficult to navigate interface, but rather the fact that there is NO SIMPLE BASS/TREBLE ADJUSTMENT feature. I searched the manual high and low for how to adjust the bass/treble, and even went back to Best Buy to have the guys who installed the stereo help me with it (The manual only has directions for the lower-priced models for how to make this adjustment). The guys who installed this stereo confirmed the fact that there is no way to adjust the bass/treble and said it was a more sophisticated technology than that. I find it RIDICULOUS that a stereo that costs this much wouldn't have such a simple feature. There is a "Bass Boost" feature, which is an ABSOLUTE JOKE (Sidenote: I am a bass lover, so if you aren't you can probably disregard my review). I usually turn my bass up almost as far as it goes and I cannot do that with this stereo. After using the factory stereo in my car for a long time now, I have gotten used to the bass and know the potential of the awesome speakers in my car. It is so frustrating to me that the sound quality is better with the Nissan factory stereo than with this expensive one.
Needless to say, I am returning this stereo today and am praying that Best Buy will take it back since it has only been a couple days since I bought it. Due to the horrible instructions, I doubt I will ever buy a Kenwood stereo ever again. I had purchased this unit in the first place because it seemed reasonably priced for the features it had (Bluetooth built-in, front USB and AUX, etc.) However, I'm willing to give up the built-in bluetooth for a stereo that actually can play the sound the way I want it.
BOTTTOM LINE: If you love bass DO NOT purchase this unit.』
(Difficult to Set up, but a lot of cool features.) 『This unit is NOT intuitive for setup and navigating through the menus is complicated. You pretty much need the manual next to you in case you want to dive into the menus. It's so bad that I keep the manual in my glove box just in case. It took me over an hour to go through all the menu items to get this deck set up properly. By the way, once you get everything set the way you want it, you should write the setttings down, since there are so many options to customize you'll forget them if you ever need to input the settings again. The manual is poorly written with insufficient explanation of what each menu and option means. Also, the manual has instructions for three different models. So, not every page applies to the unit. You have to be careful to take note of what options apply to this specific deck.
Aside from the user unfriendliness, there are A LOT of options you can set to fine-tune your music. Once you get everything set up, this is a pretty sweet deck for the ability to customize your music. Probably the best options for me is the ability to set high-pass frequencies to the speakers. The speakers in the back of my car are 4" diameter and cannot handle low frequencies well. No problem. I set the high-pass frequency to 100-Hz for the rear speakers, turned the music way up, and no distortion. Awesome.
Other pluses: A. You can set the equalizer center frequencies for three bands, Q-Level, and Gain or choose from multiple presets like rock, jazz, easy listening, etc. B. The deck can store multiple listening profiles. You get everything set up you want it, and save it as User 1, 2, or 3. This is pretty cool, as some of my music on my MP3 player needs extra bass output. I can simply recall the sound profile that I set up to have more bass, without having to pour through the maze of menus. C. There are several settings for customizing the sound environment including the size vehicle you have, speaker size, speaker location (door, dash, etc.), speaker high-pass frequencies, using tweeters, using a subwoofer, the distance from the speakers to the audio center of the vehicle, compensation for specific listening locations within the vehicle, speaker delay, highway sound compensation, bass boost levels, and on and on. D. Volume compensation for each input source, which levels the sound across all your input sources (CD, Tuner, MP3 Player). E. Bluetooth sound quality is EXCELLENT and you can even adjust the mic gain and speaker settings. F. A pretty wild feature is that the front speakers can be run independently of the rear speakers. That means you can listen to two different input sources at the same time. Pretty cool if you have kids that want to listen to something other than what you are.
I'm pretty happy with this deck now that I have finally set up the way I want it. The fact that I can set the high-pass frequency levels to the speakers is great. I can listen to my music loud and not have to worry with moving the fade setting away from my smaller speakers.』
(Awesome sound, but the rest....) 『I bought this HU to replace my factory stereo on a 2000 Honda Odyssey, honestly if I knew I should have bought either the Sony MEX-BT3700 or the Pioneer DEH-P710BT which have way better control interface/operations and manual but due to its RMS power 22 watts X 4 channel I chose this unit over the Sony or Pioneer as well as it decent cheaper price. Most of the electronics I bought over the years I have set up and operate with very minimal assistance from the manual. But this head unit blows me away, deciphering the display and manual was frustrating....I tried to set this up and was just clueless and flustered....whoever design the controls and wrote the manual must have been sleeping or drunk. I spent two days poring over the manual and tinkering with the HU, still I was only able to set it up/customized it half way. Bluetooth handsfree call and operation works good although I could not get to add my wife's cell phone a Samsung Exclaim and my Motorola Q9C phone book won't download to the unit. Overall the HU sounds good and unit aesthetics looks nice but failed on its poorly written/confusing manual and poorly designed/complex basic operations and settings.
PROS: Nice unit aesthetics, bluetooth handsfree call works good, built in bluetooth mic, awesome sound quality, decent DSP/sound field settings and customizable functions, decent rear aux connections and decent price compared to other units with the same functions.
CONS: Poorly written manual, hard to decipher display and settings too complicated, unsuccessful bluetooth pairing with Samsung Exclaim, cannot download phone book from my MOTO Q9C, presets/memory settings confusing too complicated!
RECOMMENDATION: Would not recommend this unit unless you want to spend a whole lot of time with the manual and setting up the unit. If I would start over I would have bought the Sony or Pioneer HU.』
(If you don't have an ipod, but want to shuffle more than 255 music files, this device is worthless.) 『Bought this receiver at Frys after getting recommended by the sales floor associate. After banging my head for an hour trying to figure out how to use this thing while reading through a poorly written manual, I finally managed to get the phone connected and figure out how to shuffle through music.
--- A HUGE Drawback ---- Unfortunately we found out this device only supports within folder shuffle for usb connected devices (not including ipod). The next logical thing is to then put all your music in one folder. Unfortunately the device won't recognize more than 255 files within one folder. This is a real pain. Especially when you consider a mp3 CD could hold close to 255 mp3s. My whole point for getting this was to get away with having to burn mp3 cds all the time.
Pros - nice to have caller id and phonebook support - internal mic worked pretty good
Cons - Music presets were not that different. Previous Scion stock radio had much better variety of audio equalizer presets. - Navigation through menus is not intuitive and difficult using the knob

As the previous reviewer said, it really is a beginner's book. It starts you off with the basics, and moves you along to slightly advanced scripting.
Compared to other JS books out there, this one really holds your hand, and the examples the author gives should give you a good understanding of what the scripts do, before moving on to other codes. Towards the end of each chapter, he gives you review questions to answer. They aren't very difficult, but for someone who has little JS coding, it really does refresh what you just read. All of the answers are provided in the back too.
It's too bad this book wasn't chosen for my JS class, even though it's probably too basic for the instructor to guide the class towards more advanced codes.
I highly recommend this book for those designers out there who haven't had any coding experience like me. Eventually, after reading this book, you should be able to get a good grasp on JS and move on to more advanced books.
So far, I've only used the codes in firefox and IE. Each exercise is pretty basic so that you'll know what the codes do. I haven't found any errors yet, since I'm still digging near the middle of the book.』
(Great beginner book) 『I bought this book based on other reviews. I needed to get a sound understanding of Javascript quickly. I read the entire book, all 16 chapters. I did all the exercises and the tests at the end of each chapter. I found only a couple of very minor typos in the whole book. All of the exercises worked as entered. Although I did some on Safari and some on Firefox. None on Explorer. So, I can't say that every exercise works on every browser but the author does try and point of the things that may present problems on different browsers (that is, IE).
I did say it is a great BASIC book. If you are looking for all the bells and whistles this is not the book for you. This book will provide a great foundation to go on to other things. There are lots of references in this book to more difficult material. As well as two web sites that the author presides over with more material.
My only regret is that the author has not written a second more advanced book. I liked his style.』 『Essential Skills--Made Easy!

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Excellent for the newbie, and even the experienced twitterer will pick up a tip or two...) 『I've been a Twitter addict for about 18 months now, and I'd like to think I know the majority of what there is to know about how it works and what you can do with it. But after reading Twitter Tips, Tricks, and Tweets by Paul McFedries, I realize that you *can* teach an old dog new tricks. I picked up a number of nuggets here that have worked their way into my Twitter consciousness, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Contents: How Do I Get Started with Twitter?; What Can I Do to Customize My Twitter Profile?; How Do I Send Twitter Updates?; How Do I Follow Other Twitter Users?; Can I Use Twitter on My Mobile Phone?; How Do I Find Stuff in Twitter?; Where Can I Display My Twitter Feed?; How Can I Take Twitter to the Next Level?; What Tools Can I Use to Extend Twitter?; Glossary; Index
As you might expect with a book like this, it's primarily geared to the person who either has never used Twitter or who has signed up for a Twitter account but never tried it. And for that, the book is perfect. McFedries writes in a simple, conversational mode that appeals to someone who is unfamiliar with the technology. Combine that with an abundance of pictures and illustrations, and I could give this to my dad as a starter guide, and he'd get it. Even given that Twitter is an online tool that can change at any time, the information layout is such that it should age relatively well. He focuses on concepts as well as details, and information about Twitter etiquette and how to effectively retweet don't ever go out of style.
For those of us who *have* been using Twitter for awhile, there is still some value here. The last two chapters reference a number of third-party sites that allow Twitter to be used in non-conventional ways (compared to just straight tweeting). Using Twittercal to update your Google Calendar has some useful implications. Even better is the LinkedIn Company Buzz widget that tracks tweets that mention the company (or companies) that you work(ed) for. I'm a firm believer in keeping a finger on the pulse of what's being said about your company, and Twitter is a great way to do that in real-time. Had it not been for this book, I might not have discovered that cool feature.
Granted, the more time that passes between the publication date and the time you read the book, the more chance there is that some of the information might become dated or just flat-out incorrect. And yes, the geeks among us might argue that you can find all this information via web sites or researching it on your own. But not all (potential) Twitter users are geeks, and Twitter Tips, Tricks, and Tweets is a great way to open up the door to allow those people the chance to get up to speed quickly. And even the geeks might learn a thing or two they didn't know before...

(Very complete - full of useful information) 『When I first received this book, I expected it to be extremely basic. As in, "This is how you turn your computer on...." and while it does go through the basics of setting up a Twitter account, it's packed full of useful information on how to get the most out of Twitter.
Some of the things that I found to be most helpful in this book were the detailed information on the use of hashtags, the ability to search and track trends, and how to use additional applications to manage your Twitter account. I also learned about TweetBeep, which is similar to Google Alerts in that you can receive e-mail notifications when people Tweet about particular keywords or phrases.
It seems as though each time I pick up this book, I learn something new to do with Twitter. Thumbs up and definitely recommended.』
(Read This Before You Tweet) 『When I first established my Twitter account, I wish I had read this book; it would've greatly facilitated my efforts. Unfortunately, it wasn't on the market at the time. Now that I'm fairly proficient in the art of tweeting, I decided to get the book. Better late than never, I suppose.
Paul McFedries delivers all the information anyone needs to take full advantage of the world of Twitter. Most of this stuff you'll learn from simple trial and error, but why waste the time? Some of the stuff I don't care about (using my phone to tweet?), but that doesn't mean you wouldn't care about it.
The value of Twitter is being discovered by an increasing number of businesses, as a way of marketing their services; this book will definitely help them navigate through the process in the most effective way. If you see the value of engaging other people in your business or if you just like having access to a wide range of information, Twitter could be for you.
If you decide to use Twitter, this book will help you get started and quickly develop a strong relationship with the Twitter global community; luckily, it's available now. It's worth the investment.』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Bill Dudney to the Rescue for learning Core Animation) 『Core Animation is a powerful new Apple technology that debuted with Mac OS X Leopard. As it was later revealed, it was a technology that originated for the iPhone.
Core Animation is actually comprised of two different technologies: 1) An animation technology 2) A layering (compositing) technology
Core Animation makes it easy to animate a "view" object from point A to point B without having to write your own animation loop or timer callbacks. It can be as simple as just saying "move there" and Core Animation takes care of the rest.
The layering aspect is the part that caught my attention as an OpenGL developer. Basically, you can think of Core Animation as a textured rectangle engine, i.e. apply a 2D image on a quad, and then can transform it (translate, rotate, scale). Apple leverages OpenGL under the hood so this is all really fast...much faster than the traditional techniques which are CPU oriented instead of GPU oriented. But the real leverage of the technology comes from the fact that you can turn on Core Animation for any existing Apple widget so you can use their buttons and various views instead of reinventing the wheel making your own 2D image quads (not to mention event handling/responder chain).
Furthermore, because OpenGL is used as the back end for Core Animation, it is now finally possible to intermix previously unrelated UI pieces together in a single view. So for example, before it was really hard to superimpose an OpenGL view with a Quicktime view and a Cocoa view for building a sophisticated UI. The "layering" part of Core Animation is now the grand unification technology that allows all this to just work together because all can now be rendered via Core Animation layers which is all OpenGL at the bottom. (The technology was originally called LayerKit before Apple renamed it to Core Animation.)
I find this particularly compelling for building UI interfaces. Before I might do a lot of the hard painful work of writing 2D stuff in OpenGL directly that required fluid animation and speed. But now Core Animation provides a simple API to do this and already provides me powerful capabilities such as rendering high quality text (always a pain in OpenGL).
Unfortunately, documentation is hard to come by for Core Animation. I think it has hurt its adoption rate.
Enter Bill Dudney who has addressed that shortcoming by writing the book "Core Animation or Mac OS X and the iPhone".
Bill Dudney covers it all, from simple animation and layer-backed views (i.e. using Core Animation with traditional NSView's on Mac) to using Core Animation layers directly for more powerful and expressive capabilities.
For anybody needing to deal directly with Core Animation, I think this book is a must-have.
However, I have seen some criticisms of the book, mostly from iPhone developers. So I want to be clear on what this book is about (or not about).
This book is specifically geared towards Core Animation, not Cocoa or iPhone programming in general. (Dudney is working on a general iPhone book which is worth looking at.) And knowledge of just Core Animation is not sufficient to build an entire application. This book is best suited for those people who want to make superior and elegant UIs to differentiate their products (or simplify implementation in my case), and not settle for run-of-the-mill looking UIs. For example, he builds a simple Front Row like interface as one of his more advanced code examples. But also to be clear, as much as I wish we had such a thing, this is not an elite Cocoa tips&tricks book or gems book so the focus is learning Core Animation (via mostly simple isolated examples), not doing elaborate example projects.
There is a single chapter on iPhone at the end of the book. There are not a lot of differences between pure Core Animation on Leopard and iPhone, so iPhone doesn't really need a whole lot of discussion. However, this also underscores that the book was really written with a Mac centric focus. The first section of the book covers using Core Animation with NSViews which is an important topic on Mac, but irrelevant to iPhone developers. When the book moves into dealing with Core Animation layers directly, this information is directly applicable to iPhone developers. But I can understand that iPhone developers may experience frustration at needing to work with Mac examples in these sections rather than iPhone examples. But the examples are fairly simple and to the point so you generally don't need to focus on the infrastructure differences between Cocoa and Cocoa Touch. Still, if you are an iPhone only developer, you might want to hold off on this book purchase unless your need to understand Core Animation is great and you can live with the fact that a significant portion of this book does not apply to you.
One other criticism I've seen is that the photos in the printed book are not in color. I can say that the e-book version is at least in color, though I personally don't think color is all that important for the topic material. (You might argue motion is important for animation, but I don't know how to address that in book form, short of making a flip-book.)
I do hope he will do something to address the new features in Snow Leopard and newer versions of iPhone OS whether it be a blog entry or an update to a book.』
(Save your $$ - Skip this one) 『I am an iPhone developer. I purchased this book in order to learn more about the animation capabilities of the platform.
The book is written horribly. It is gray, boring and unreadable. It might have some details in it that are of value, however, getting to those details in the pile of useless text in it is simply a challenge.
The examples in the book look bad. Its almost as if you are looking at a book showing you how to move sprites on a commodore 64...
How to improve the next editions: - Talk less, show more - Work with an animator / designer for the examples in the book - Create a learning process, where you start with something basic and work your way into a deeper challange.
』
(An introduction to Core Animation, but certainly not a definitive tome.) 『I bought this book based on the rave recommendations I read here. And with the limited selection of books on the topic, this one seemed like the best one available at the time (June 2009).
I have to report that I was disappointed with this book. The author's style is a tad repetitive. Often the text would promise explanations of something "in detail", but the detail never came.
Generally the book scratches the surface of many elements of Core Animation, giving the reader a reasonable starting point for further research. But since the text of the book does not include complete code examples (just snippets) it is sometimes hard to see how the examples would fit into a larger application.
I am an accomplished software developer with over 20 years experience designing complex software applications. I have read (at this point) more than few serious books about Objective-C, Cocoa, and iPhone development. I learned little from this book, sadly. Except that I need to buy another book.
Bottom line: If you are already a Max OS X and Cocoa developer, then this book will be a good introduction to Core Animation. But you will need to read more than just this book to get up to speed. If you are an iPhone developer, the one chapter in this book about iPhone specifics as they relate to Core Animation is not worth it. 』
(Understand and start coding with Core Animation) 『Core Animation for Mac OS X and the iPhone: Creating Compelling Dynamic User Interfaces (Pragmatic Programmers)
This books is all about Core Animation. As in most Apple technologies there is a lot of magic that takes place when you work with Cocoa or Foundation frameworks. Some of the concepts are better understood when explained from a seasoned Cocoa developer rather than just reading the online docs.
Bill stays focused on the subject and does a great job of explaining the mechanics of Core Animation. This knowledge will save you precious time if you elect to use this technology. You will get a clear explanation with hands on examples of the basic Core Animation APIs and concepts as well as integration of all these with the existing Cocoa/AppKit applications.
Some knowledge of Objective-C as well as straight C programming is required.』
(Insufficient depth and poorly organized) 『The author clearly understands Core Animation (CA) technology, and his selection of topics provides an interesting overview of CA. However, the book is poorly focused, and it makes the concepts difficult to absorb. The book jumps around concepts and breaks basic rules of technical writing and editing. For example, he will refer to a technology like Quartz Composer, but the definition appears later in the book. The book provides an interesting array of examples, but cherry picks from the extensive APIs. The book would have been better served by providing overviews of the APIs, and tying the examples into the API. This lack of reference and context is disorienting. You get isolated examples, but you feel you lack the bigger picture. Overall the book is moderately satisfying, and an interesting introduction to the technology. But is insufficient to understanding the breadth of Core Animation. It is barely a 101 primer.』 『
Mac OS X Leopard introduces a fantastic new technology that makes writing applications with animated and cinematic user interfaces much easier. We'll explore this new technology by starting with the familiar concepts you already know from the pre-Leopard development kits.
Then we'll see how they apply to the new frameworks and APIs. We'll build on your existing knowledge of Cocoa and bring you efficiently up to speed on what Core Animation is all about.
With this book in hand, you can add Core Animation to your Cocoa applications, and make stunning user interfaces that your user's will be showing off to their friends.
