I live in the country where wildlife is abundant and often wander near my back yard during the day and night.
I recorded the deer fight video using the Sharx SCNC2601. I attached an external mic to increase audio levels. It's amazing the sounds it will pick up while viewing or recording video.
I also enjoy being able to pan and tilt the camera so that I can follow any action shots.
You can't go wrong with this camera when used for security or wildlife viewing and recording from anywhere in the world.
I plan on purchasing more of these cameras in the near future. I also purchased the SCNC2606 so that I can watch live streaming video of wildlife on my smart phone.
These cameras are easy to setup and the price tag isn't bad either. :-)』
(Excellent IP camera for a very reasonable price!!) 『I really researched IP cameras and my decision came down to this camera and a Panasonic camera. The Panasonic camera was more expensive, but had a ton of reviews, most saying good things besides it being difficult to setup. The Sharx camera was cheaper and had more features (2-way sound/audio), but my main concern was lack of reviews online. I took a leap of faith and decided I would rather get a product that has more features and a lower price. I am so glad I did! This is a great and easy-to-use product. I had a little difficulty with setup (I accidentally skipped a step) and begrudgingly called tech support. I was pleasantly surprised - this is the best tech support I have ever dealt with! The person who helped me knew exactly how to deal with my specific operating system as well as my specific router. With his help, it was extremely easy to get my camera configured properly on my router. I strongly recommend this product - it comes with the same features of cameras 5x more expensive. And you can be comforted knowing that if you aren't an experienced techie, you will have an easy time configuring the camera with the help of their top-notch tech support! 』

However, the previous reviews said nothing about the tech support offered by SecurCam (aka Sharx Security) which is also awesome. First, you talk with a highly competent tech that knows the product intimately and is not in India. Second, they really want to help - I called one evening, got voicemail, and decided to not leave a message but call back later. A while later I got a call from them - they used caller ID to call me to see if there was something they could help with!

(A lot of value for the money.) 『I have been looking for a network PTZ camera and thought I was going to spend $1,500 for a decent one. For less than $200, the Sharx does a lot more than I expected.
At first, I was hesitant to go wireless so not to clog up the WiFi LAN. I saw that the Sharx did both RJ45 and WiFi G, so I could chose which later. I found since that the bandwidth consumption at 30fps is actually pretty minimal.
I run Firefox on XP, and the web interface will not work without a couple steps. First, enable UPnP in your Windows Components/Networking Services to display the camera as a network component. Second, Google "Firefox IE Tab" and download and install the plug-in. Third, under Tools in Firefox, add the camera's IP address in IE Tab Options. There are a couple Internet Options to check described in the manual if it doesn't go the first time. After that, accept the program installations. It is easier than it sounds and works with Vista as well.
Once I had it running on my desk, it was time to mount it. I didn't like the look of the swivel mounting bracket, but I found that there is a flush mount bracket included. No wiring passes through the swivel bracket, so it can be discarded. While the housing has the look of a weatherproof enclosure, the RJ45 socket and other plugs are exposed, and I would try to keep it out of direct contact with the elements. I have mine attached to the underside of the roof, out of the rain, anyway.
Other than getting the wall wart power, on WiFi there were no wires to pull. Click on the network icon for the camera and it launches the browser interface. The pan/tilt controls seem clunky, but if you set some of the 8 preset choices, the camera will zip over to each location and return without trouble. The camera's internal microphone will pick up conversation ten feet away, but also captures the mechanical noise of the pan/tilt. An external mike plugged into the mini phono jack on the camera will cure this. There is also mini phono for an external speaker, so that you can talk back to whoever is there through the interface.
The interface will do both FTP and email alerts, with a zone-select motion detector function. The interface can be configured to run multiple cameras or open each in an individual window by the IP address. Once you have the right ports enabled on your router, you can access the interface remotely via the intertubes. The zoom function is only enlarging part of the received image, so don't expect much. It would be nice if the interface could reorient the image as it pans and tilts, I find myself trying to stand on my head to figure out what is in the picture sometimes.
Instead of spending $1,500, I got an easy to use camera that does everything I need (and a few things more) for less than $200.

While MY cats didn't respond very well, I bet if someone used this feature with their dogs they would have a great response from them. I am just thinking of all the great uses this camera could have. While I use it to just to check in on my cats, I think it would also be great to check on the house while on vacation, as a baby monitor, for a business, etc. I highly recommend this camera!

Mounted on a Panavise metal bracket that attaches to the stereo, the combo provides a secure means of holding these items, in a place that is easy to see and reach from the driver's seat.
My only complaints is that the miGrip isn't the strongest thing in the world, and I know it's just a matter of time until a passenger shatters it by bumping it with their knee. The little sliding supports at the bottom are particularly vulnerable...they are built of cheap plastic, and are sticking out right in harms way.
Speaking of those supports, it's great that they slide, which helps accomodate a large variety of device and cable configurations. However, they easily slide right out of the holder, and several times I've had to hunt around on the floor for them. (The floor is NOT a safe place for them either, one touch of a foot and they'd be broken!) I'm thinking of modifying mine, by glueing in a small piece of material to hold these supports captive.
All in all, I'm pretty happy...until the inevitable day that it breaks! (Excellent beginners tutorial) 『While this book is not as comprehensive as some have wanted, I found it to be a nice beginners tutorial to writing iPhone applications. The book starts out with an objective-C primer. Since objective-C has such an "interesting" syntax this is badly needed, even though I come from a strong programming background.
Each section includes a reasonably complex sample that puts that section's material to use. Most of the sections also include a "Further Study" area that gives you some homework. This is where the user can expand his knowledge through research and working with the tools.
The book jumps around a bit by first going over simple UI patterns, then spending time talking about audio services and networking, only to come back and spend more time with UI controls, only to jump back into audio/video. Still, one has to remember that this is a reference book and not a novel so jumping around is ok.
The sample applications that I have tried so far are ok and I feel like I have a much better grasp on how the iPhone system works.

(Finally trying to learn iMovie on my Macbook) 『I just received the book "iMovie '08&iDVD" that I ordered here on Amazon from CollegeBooksDirect who sells here on Amazon. I went with their cheaper price and they were on Amazon where I like to buy most of my online purchases of books, merchandise, products, etc. I know how to edit videos and burn DVDs under windows - I record TV, edit out commercials, and burn to DVD or make DivX videos, or I do home videos and edit those - but now I have to learn how to do all that on a Mac. I have a Macbook running Tiger and it has iMovie '08. I know that Leopard and iMovie '09 (with iLife '09) are currently available right now at the time that I am writing this, but I don't plan on upgrading until Snow Leopard is out and probably iMovie '10 may be coming out by then. So, I have iMovie '08 here and I have to learn it. The first thing that puzzled me was how to do transitions and how to do titles or running text on the screen. How do you do that in iMovie. Agh! So I stopped peeking at what iMovie does on my Macbook. I was putting off learning iMovie since I still had the comfort of my windows pc-tv video system to edit with. But I wanted to learn iMovie. So I got this book. Now about transitions and titles. There's a whole chapter on transitions in this book. Yea! And there's also another whole chapter on titles etc. in this book. Double Yea! So I'm done. Well, not quite, but that's all I needed to know for now. I know, I know. There's more to learn. But I didn't turn to a book to learn how to edit video with Nerovision on my windows machines. But with a Mac, maybe it's because it's a different world, I needed a book. There's online tutorial stuff out on the net to search for, but having a book particularly these "missing manual" books by David Pogue are a great crutch to lean on and learn from when going over to the Mac side of the computer world. I also have the "Mac OS X Tiger: Missing Manual" book which I found useful in that other book's chapter(s) for learning more about the unixy side of the Mac. These books are cool to flip through for if you want more in-depth how-to information because you really don't get any printed manuals with the Macbook. Thanks for reading!』

(Just Switched from a PC to a Mac) 『One reviewer suggested this was a good book for the beginner, and he is correct. However, if you don't want to waste your time with curse-filled hours of trial-and-error, get this book. I've used a PC for 25 years and made the switch to an iMac this year, most frustrating at times, because Microsoft and Apple don't use the same words to describe common procedures. The Mac came with iMovies and no manual for it. Mac help is pathetic, and days of sifting through a Mac users forum is no fun. I'm converting old analog VHS and 8mm tapes to digital using a Canopus ADVC-55 converter, and wanted to do some still photo splicing, voice over narration, add music soundtrack from a vast iTunes library, then burn to DVD, and was incredibly frustrated until I got this book. Great tool, life is much better, and the wife doesn't have to listen to the bitching anymore. iMovies is a nice app, but for those of us with a mind organized by MS Wndows, it's not totally "intuitive" - one of the words I hate most when talking with computer geeks. Get the book. If you're an expert, have fun with your trial-and-error. I've got better things to do with my time than flop on the deck like a fish.』

I already had a 12V charger for my iPod but for some reason it wouldn't accomodate my iPhone (error message on the iPhone). I specifically shopped for a charger that explicitely supported the 3GS, but unfortunately this device doesn't work with my iPhone either (the iPhone simply says that charging is not supported with thsi device). Of course, the value is equal or less to what it would cost me to ship it back, so I own another useless device in a long list of such poor investments. Oh, it works fine when plugged into a 110V wall socket if that's what you need.』

(excellent value) 『this product is exactly as i expected. i never pay full price for name brand electronics items, as most of them are a disposable commodity anyway. the cord for this works just fine with my new 3GS iphone, but the wire is a little thinner than the "original" cord. extended tugging on the product may cause premature demise, but as long as you're careful with it, i don't see any problems.

My previous Griffin PowerJolt SE Car Charger with Coiled Cable for iPod and iPhone 1G (Black)worked fine but was a bit limited due to the integrated iPhone cable - this will not work with some iPhone accessories such as the PocketDock Line Out USB and can also be an issue due to the short length of the cable.
