It is a valuable resource book more than a read it cover-to-cover book. It bailed me out on several occasions with little things. They were easy to find and easy to understand. However, the best part was the killer tips and tricks chapter. That in itself was worth the price and allowed me to increase the value of my iPhone.
The first edition of The iPhone Book was OK. This second edition is much better. Scott and Terry have really elevated the effectiveness and thus the usefulness of the book without getting too techie.』

His sense of humor and straightforward style makes learning complex topics much easier (e.g. photography or photoshop). I have to admit that I was disappointed in this iPhone book. If you know nothing about the iPhone, this book will provide a good start. However, I had spent a week with my iPhone when I got the book and after going through it cover to cover found only about 2 things I hadn't already figured out on my own. This is very different than his iPod book where I learned dozens of new things even after using iPod's for years. Also, because of the rapid pace of iPhone software updates, some of this was already out of date. On the plus side, the book is funny, easy to read and covers all the basics.』

(It's OK, but not for the iPhone) 『I got this as replacements for the headphones that come with the iPhone...unfortunately, they don't quite work for it.
1) The microphone is wayyyy down on the cord. Not near mouth level at all - actually at about my waist. So I can't really use it to talk on the phone hands-free, since I have to hold the mike up near my mouth.
2) The microphone isn't "clickable" to pause the music, fast-forward the music, answer calls, etc.
So, while I have no problems with the sound quality, fit, etc - they are pretty useless for my purposes.』
(Very good set of headphones) 『Okay the pros first: The rubber parts of the ear buds do an exceptional job at blocking outside noise. It won't block a bus or an airplane engine but your everyday walking around is about as peaceful as you can possibly get without spending money on WAY better headphones. The mic works well, although I've only used it for tuning my guitar on an app that does that on my iPod Touch 2G. From what I can tell, good reception and the sound is definitely getting through.
Okay the cons next: The rubber on the earbuds can and will pop off. It's a hassle and it's annoying so if you get these make sure you're really careful taking them out of your ear, purse, pocket, etc. You might have to make it a habit to check to make sure you still have the rubber piece.
All in all, I would suggest buying these. The sound quality is good, the noise cancelling is good and the mic works just fine. The earbud thing isn't a big enough problem to make me not want to buy these again.

I also didn't want to spend a lot of money. These block out more noise than the standard apple earbuds did. The sound quality is good and the mic quality is good, too.
My only complaint is that the soft little earbud cover can pop off -- so I have to watch out to make sure I don't lose those. The earbuds would be useless without them. But in general: I recommend these and would definitely buy them again.』
(Excellent alternative to expensive Apple branded earbuds with in-line microphone) 『I recently purchased an iPod Touch. The 2G version of the iPod Touch does enable the use of a microphone if you have the proper earbuds that include an in-line microphone. The Apple offering is very pricey. I was thrilled to find this GE In-ear headset with in-line microphone. It has enabled me to use Skype on my iPod Touch as well as several cool voice memo type apps.
The price is great, they sound OK but the real key feature for me is the in-line microphone. The sound quality of the mic is surprisingly good.

I ordered three cases and all of them came with slight defects in workmanship (gap where the two parts connect, and overhanging small pieces of plastic). These are minor issues that corrected by shaving it down with a nail file. The vendor replaced one that did not slide together perfect, immediately and at no cost. Can't beat the price, plus it's the only slider I found with apple symbol opening in the back (real cool and why a 4 instead of 3 stars).』
(Great case for a great price!) 『I seem to collect cases. I like cases that the apple either shows through or have the Apple logo on them. This is probably my 10th or 11th case, and my favorite. It FULLY protects my phone, but leaves the buttons and the screen free. It looks great and feels really secure. There are little rubber "bumpers" inside to absorb the impact of a drop. The bottom and top pieces don't fit perfectly seamlessly together, but it is not enough to deter my from purchasing again. The color and finish are staying on as well. I have found that many cases have a rubberized coating on them that are great when new but gross after a month of use. After about a month with this, it looks just as good as the day I bought it. It is not quite as thin as some other cases out there, but I bought a "super thin" case when I bought this, and I'm not comfortable using it. If my phone fell face or corner down, those so-called cases would offer no protection. This fully covers the edges, avery important feature for me. Love it! Best case yet!』

(Works well most of the time) 『This unit works really well, with 4.5/5 sound quality where I live. But where I live doesn't have many radio stations, so the FM transmitter has it's pick of the litter as far as broadcast signals are concerned. However, while traveling towards an area with a lot more radio stations, naturally the choice of stations for the Griffin to broadcast to diminish. This becomes and issue when the FM dial is literally saturated with signals thus making the Griffin FM transmitter useless. The sound quality fades from great to slight static to complete loss of signal.
Bottom line: The cradle and charging features of this item are fantastic. However if you live in an area that has little radio choices and lots of empty frequencies on your FM dial, this thing is awesome. If you live in an area with a lot of FM radio choices on your dial, a direct connection is the only way to go.

(Great case!) 『I originally had an iFrogz Luxe case, but the connecter piece snapped and it wouldn't stay on. Tried replacing that with a SwitchEasy Rebel, but that case was hard and slippery - not suited for an accessory that's supposed to decrease the risk of damage! This Speck case is easily the best of the three, and the best iPhone case I've seen yet - it fits snugly, is smooth but not slippery, great looking, and appears to be extremely durable and well built. The only caveats are that it adds slightly more bulk than the iFrogz case, and the mute switch is a bit harder to activate due to the increased case thickness. I'll happily take those tradeoffs, though. Finally, the packaging was excellent - it's actually held together with metal snaps! Great product, I'll look to Speck first next time.』
