After reading all of the reviews, and with no real standout alternative to the iPhone/HD/Clock Radio I bit the bullet. I would not buy this radio again or recommend it, though I am not compelled to return it and would not talk anyone out of it either.

Sound - Is good, not great, better when paired with Sub, but that is an additional expense. Volume is lacking, especially when listening in HD.

Display - I would consider this a plus. Easy to read and good information.

Controls - Here is my bigest rub, it is awkward to control. Lots of buttons, with this many, there is still too much scrolling. Example, push source to scroll through iPod/Aux/Radio, and radio preset scroll through 20 channels, so you can't jump quickly between your two favorite. I find it faster to use tuning dial to make fast channel changes.

Remote - Is solid, but suffers same scrolling ailment as on radio controls.

Final comment - It is an OK device. It has some hurdles to get over. I hope Teac takes another shot at it with improvents found in these reviews. If you are still curious, find one in a store and play with it.
I have lived with this unit for a month as a bedside alaram clock replacement and will now somewhat reluctantly return it. The feature set (especially for<$100) is very good. Controls are easy to use, the rotary dials make volume and station/tune selection easy (I hate up/down buttons for volume) and the unit has decent sound quality.

So why am I returning it? Here are the problems:
1) Clock resets to an "impossible" value (hour>23). Makes it useless as an alarm clock when it won't keep the time.

2) Backlit display is too bright, even on its dimmest setting. Had to put a cardboard to block half the screen, in an attempt to still be able to see the time but not have it be so bright.

3) HD Radio reception spotty. The conventional analog FM radio reception is quite good, even with the bundled dipole antenna. But I could not get it to reliably "lock on" to any HD radio broadcasts, even when their analog signals came in clearly. I tried hooking it up to my roof-mounted antenna, but then the signal was so strong it couldn't tune to any analog station without huge distortion (BTW, this roof antenna feeds my TV and family room FM Stereo receiver with no problems).

4) Minor quibbles: (a) if the unit is off (standby) when you dock your iPhone/Touch, it automatically turns on and starts playing the music track on your iPod. I have to remember to quickly hit the on/off switch to turn it off. (b) no separate bass/treble control, just four presets.

I think when Teac corrects these problems, they will have a winner on their hands. I tried contacting Teac by email, it has been a week and no response of any kind...
TEAC should be embarrassed. I seldom bother to write a negative review, but this thing begs for it. It must be a prototype rushed into production. Specifically: 1) Very mediocre FM and DREADFUL AM reception; 2) Inaccurate clock (the clock told me the time was "39:24" and was very difficult to correct); 3) Preset functions are counter-intuitive; 4) When frustration sends you back to the instruction book for answers, it's so skimpy as to be worthless; 5) The iPod connection is so touchy that it wouldn't play at all from one of my two iPods. That's when I put it back in the box to return.

I loved the idea of this unit, but the execution is a nightmare. Wait for an improved version or buy another brand.

Although the quality of HD audio is quite good, it does not make up for the utter lack of functionality.

1. The lcd is way too bright (even at its lowest setting)
2. Why on gods earth would the time not be displayed when the radio is playing? This is inexcusable.
3. The brightness of the lcd does not stay constant. If you have it at a certain brightness and turn the unit off, the next time you turn it on it goes to a default brightness setting.
4. In the manual, it brags about how there is a separate volume setting for "sleep" mode, but the problem is that it never remembers it and you have to set it every time you use the sleep function which makes it completely useless.
5. The remote feels good in the hand but the buttons are way too stiff.
6. You can only scroll up on your radio presets. So, if you have all 20 preset stations in memory, the remote only allows you to scroll thru the stations in sequential order and there is no way to scroll down. To scroll down you will have to cycle thru your presets and get back to the station you want to hear

I can't return this fast enough.
If you are looking for a radio that includes an alarm clock then don't buy this Teac HD-1.
It has a defective clock. The clock will unexpectedly and frequently reset to an odd incorrect time. Thus no matter what else this unit can do it's of no use for telling the time!!!

I bought this headset so that I could Skype on my iPod Touch 2G. Although the Apple website claims that this headset is compatible with my iPod, when I plug it in all microphone enabled devices tell me that the microphone is not detected. I tried it on two 2G iPod Touches and it gave me the same problem on both. So I'm going back and getting the new Apple headphones with remote and mic.

This little case is perfect as it has a very small envelope and protects to anyone's expectation.
Bought two of these (black and red). They both look great and don't bulk up the phone too much.
I got exactly what I ordered - a good-looking, functional, slim case. Minus one star for the case wrapping around too far and lifting the screen but only minus one star because it was a cinch to fix (scrape or lightly file down the part that is lifting the screen).
Maybe it's just a defective case that I received, but it does not stick to the iPhone 3G like a glove when compared to the Elago, Gogo and Shield cases that I've tried. I also don't like the feel of it as much as the aforementioned brands. Not that bad ... but not as good as three other distinct brands, IMO.

This turbo sim works great! Took a couple of minutes to find signal the first time i popped it in. But every other time after that, worked like a charm. One down side is, though kind of hard to put in the iPhone. Have to be careful, or might damage the chipset on the turbo sim. I've been using it for a while now and hasn't given me the "No Sim" error yet. This turbo sim DOES NOT work with the 3.0 firmware. So do not upgrade to 3.0 thinking this turbo sim will work for that too.

This thing pretty much sucks to be honest its genuine i know but its always popping up NO SIM CARD INSTALLED and then i have to restart the phone and everything for it to work again im sick of the hassle it worked perfect for a good 24 hours but now thats all it does for me it gets good service but only when it wants to.
We got a cracked iphone from Dubai, and my husband accidentally upgraded it to 2.2.1 and the phone was dead. When we got this turbo SIM, I tried it on Saudi AlJawal SIM which showed either "No signal" or "No SIM." However, when I tried it on Japanese Docomo SIM, it showed the signal of STC (Docomo's connecting carrier in Saudi Arabia). Amazing!
This is a upgraded version for firmware 2.2 and 2.21(modem 02.28.00/modem 2.30.03). It works perfectly for firmware 2.2 and 2.2.1 and just like our last version for firmware 2.1. Finally it is ready to sell.

The cover came before I was expecting and it looked really great and feel great too. Though you need another screen protector on the front. Its a great buy.
This is my 3rd case for my 3G. I LOVE IT! I've dropped it several times since I got it (I bought the white one) and so far no damage to my phone. Case did not pop off as I was concerned it would. Someone wrote a review that it gets dirty, mine looks new after a month. No paint peeling, nothing breaking. I think it's great! I can even slip it into my armband without removing the case (major bonus)! And my armband is for the ipod touch (so it's a little tight but works). It's my favorite so far and that includes the cases I had for my first iPhone. I feel like I'm using the phone without any case on but it's not slippery like it looks like it would be.

So, if you're looking for something that mimics the look of the phone but provides grip and doesn't have to be removed to put into an armband - this just might be the case for you! It's perfect for me!

I was disappointed when receiving the case because it looked cheap! That said, the corner started breaking after a month; then the white surface started peeling off after two monthes. What a short life!
Got this case for my wife's iPhone 3G and she loves it. It has a rubbery feel on the outside while the inside is more of a glossy plastic, snaps on and off easily, and leaves you easy access to all of your buttons and connection ports. Very pleased!!

This product allows me to use any sneaker I want with my Nike running pod and not just the Nike plus running sneaker. It is snug and I have yet to have any issues with it.
This holds the Nike iPod sensor snuggly and I don't have to worry about it falling out, even if I'm trail running. I recommend this product if you're not willing to buy the special Nikes that have the space in the sole for the sensor. Only drawback is I feel a little nerdy with this purple silicone pouch attached to my left shoe, but it can be a good conversation starter :)
Great little holder for the Nike+ transmitter. I can run in whatever shoes I want know, not just Nike Sneaks!

I've used the sensor pouch/case for months now&its perfect! I've run thru rain-storms&puddles&it hasn't even so much as gotten wet because of the secure, rubber case; I love that it doesn't shake or make noise, I don't feel it at all. The sensor slide in easily, like putting a button on, and other than when I initially put it on, I haven't had to touch it. This should be sold with every Nike sensor!

The only way I can make it fit properly is by putting it over the hard case that I also have which just makes the phone to bulky.

This is an excellent product! The shipping was super fast ( I hate waiting for shipments). I ordered it on monday evening and got it on thursday at around 12pm. First of all this people from ivyskin claim this products are scratch proof, then they suck your money for a product that is not worth the waste of the money, the time and in top of everything they CS service is pure BS, if you call or try to contact them they never answer the phone but instead send you to voicemail and if you email them arguing you need to return their defective products they get pissed, they dont even respond for their so called great products! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCTS, BUYER BEWARE THEY HAVENT REFUNDED MY MONEY YET ITS BEEN A MONTH THEY RECEIVED MY RETURN AND NO REFUND AT ALL!!!!
Reading all of the other reviews, I was expecting the best case available for an iPhone. I was excited to rip open the package the day it arrived. Everything looked good, it's a beautiful case and snaps together easily. Here's the problem. When you first put the case on, everything is fine. Then after a little use, the front cover, which is a thin plastic shield, begins to slightly adhere to the glass cover. To picture this, imagine when you get one of those shields that you smooth on with a credit card, and there's a bubble or two that you can't smooth out. Well, with this screen, I get a "bubble" about 1/3 the size of the entire screen that makes it look very cheap. Now, you can still see the screen, but I don't understand why it sticks at all. I can open the case and then pull the iPhone away, and it's fine for a while, but apparently there is a small air gap between the phone and the thin shield that causes the problem. I've tried using a credit card, but no help. I suppose I have to slip my iSkin Revo back on... Hopefully others have had better luck than I have.

I absolutely love the Chrome T2 case. After spending so much money on my iPhone, I immediately bought this case to protect it. Even though my phone takes a lot of abuse, both the phone and the case still look brand new!

The look and feel of this case is so classy and elegant, but I really love it for its tough, reliable protective qualities. They call it a suit of armor for your phone, but I think it's the best looking suit or armor I've ever seen. Buying a chrome cover for your phone is like replacing your kitchen appliances with stainless steel... you'll wonder why you didn't do it ages ago! It gives my phone a unique, elegant look that garners compliments from all of my friends and coworkers. It also doesn't interfere with my use of the touch screen at all.

The screen is made of industrial-strength material, so I am 100% confident that my iPhone is well protected. This case gives me peace of mind by protecting my expensive phone and also gives it a facelift every time I put it on! I love this case and recommend buying it as soon as you get your phone.

I already had an iPhone Xylo T2 (Original model) when IvySkin came out with this iPhone case. I just had to have one, so I purchased it for one of my employees. It has all of the advantages of the T2 Original, meaning that it provides unsurpassed protection for an expensive piece of electronics, while giving the phone a unique image. (Pretty much the worst purchase I've ever made)

(An expensive pack of lies)

I bought this thinking the concept is perfect: a software app that helps me translate quick traveler questions into foreign languages. What a perfect way to use my iPod touch to its greatest potential.

I couldn't have been more wrong. The "installer" is a joke, and the "software" is nothing more than a Web page. Um, call me crazy, but creating a Web based application for STATIC CONTENT that is DESIGNED TO BE USED IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY is beyond idiotic. Not only did the product cost $30, but now they expect me to pay data charges to use it???

The interface is WRETCHED and each laborious phrase clicked on requires the launch of a separate page to hear the word. I mean, I've seen bad UI before, but this... Let's just say the most elegantly designed part of this product is the box it comes in.

If I could give a negative star review, I would in a heartbeat. Don't buy this.
I was so excited when I saw this in the apple store, I immediately bought it. Claiming to be a software package for ipod and iphone, it was an immediate disappointment. All this is is a website that is optimized for the iphone. It takes a very long time to load, and once it does load, the styles and javascript they made it with do not work well enough so it all jumbles together. Plus every time you try to listen to a translation, it opens another page, meaning, when you go back, it reloads the whole index again. It's terrible. Just terrible. It also looks like signing up for either pack, enables access to both packs. /asia and /euro I really wish they had mentioned that before I bought both of them. The good news is, unlike how it says their ipod software works, you can use both packs FROM the iphone, as it's not actually iphone software.

(Two good segments)

I greatly enjoyed the political interview with Harwood and Seib. Washington insiders they gave up-to-date inside information on the present political campaign. Harwood believes Obama to be the most impressive politican he has seen. Seib is also impressed with him but believes Bill Clinton a greater master.
In Zittrain segment we hear about possible deadends and difficulties the Internet may be going to. We also hear about the cloud computing future and the ways in which 'virtual reality' is going to be more and more imaginatively compelling. I did not however follow this all as some of the stuff was too technical for me.
A conversation with John Harwood and Jerry Seib about their book Pennsylvania Avenue: Profiles In Backroom Power.|| A conversation with author Jonathan Zittrain about his book The Future of the Internet and How to Stop It. This series practically sums up Winkie Pratney's life work. Don't bother with Seminary, just buy this and watch it, watch it, watch it. It is absolutely life changing material. I can not recommend the 21CR series enough. If I could have only one teaching series other than the Bible itself, it would without any doubt be this. Get it!!

Great product. It is very easy to use and really comes in handy when you are on long flights.
We bought two of these battery packs. One for each iphone 3G. They are great. Easily fits in my purse and my husband has a small case to carry it. When Iphone battery is low just plug it in and it will recharge in a short time. You get multiple charges from the battery pack before it needs to be recharged. The battery pack doesn't take very long to charge either. Now when we are out for any length of time we feel secure that we can use our iphones without worrying about the batteries running out.
Good price. Good design. Simple and effective. Fully charges quickly. Runs and charges other devices for a long time. Everything they advertise about it is true. Feels solid. It is definitely worth the money. I go hiking twice a week and I keep my iPhone fully charged for the whole hike. I use my iPhone to track my hike which uses GPS and I also use stereo bluetooth headphones to listen to music the whole time, those two things together use a lot of juice. It is no problem for this little device. I highly recommend it.
What you need to know:
1. Charges the iPhone a little over 1.5 times. Quick charging.
2. LED lights let you know approximately how much charge is left.
3. Small and compact. Smaller and thinner than iPhone.
4. Use the wall charger to directly charge iPhone.

Only Con:
The charging cable from the battery to the iPhone is too long. Doesn't need to be that long.

Uses:
1. Watching video on long flights.
2. I use an iPhone app for navigating through the wilderness when backpacking. The app allows pre-loaded topo maps (you don't need a cell phone connection) and tracks your position via GPS. The battery charger allows me to use the iPhone GPS app for extended outdoor trips.
Note how the battery capacity isn't listed in the Product Description nor in the Technical Details: you have to click "See more technical details" to find it. Maybe it's because the capacity is only 1800mAh, the same as the much smaller battery packs from 3GJuice and IPWR. The claims that are made in the Product Description (100 hours of music, 21 hours of video, 6 hours of talk) are certainly a stretch and borderline misleading, thus my 1-star rating. The actual performance consists simply in adding one extra battery life to your iPhone: when the phone is down to 0, connect the battery pack and it recharges it to 100%. Now the problem is that this battery pack is almost as big as the phone itself, so if you want to place or receive a call while it's charging you need to find the room in your pocket and the dangling cable gets in the way. The smaller packs I mentioned above are much more convenient: you snap them onto the phone and off you go. They are a bit more expensive but when you are looking at that kind of product, portability is one of the most important features. They also keep their charge much longer when not in use (several months) so you can stash one in a suitcase or a glove compartment and forget about it until you need it.

This is a nice headset for a good price. Worked with my Sanyo phone with absolutely no problem. People are able to hear me and I can hear them clearly as well. Not as good as a headset with a cord, but better then other bluetooth headsets I have used in the past, even more expensive Motorola ones.

If you are somebody who is looking for a basic headset at a good price, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money, this is a good one to get. If you are in sales or a profession where you spend all day on the phone, you may want to look into something a bit more industrial. This is a nice, 5-star consumer set, but I feel it would not handle the constant use of being used all day every day. With gentle use, it should last you a long time though. I have had mine several months without problem.

The first Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth I purchased worked just fine until I lost it a year after I purchased it. The second one I purchased stopped working after a month and a few days.
I've used a genuine Motorola H700 and a horrible H700 counterfeit, in addition to the WEP200. I haven't used the WEP200 out in the wind and weather yet, but it has functioned just as well as the genuine H700, and much better than the counterfeit!

The earpiece does a better job of transferring bass frequencies than the Motorola did, but it also becomes uncomfortable--which is a subjective problem, though it seems common in the reviews.
I had Jabra, Motorola H350 and this is the best out of three so far. My wife has one and finally I decided to get one for myself.

Works for my iPod nano, but not on my 80 GB iPod Classic. Cheap is not always better!
I read the review of 6 appeal who said that they were worried about whether this would work with the ipod touch2nd gen. I was in the same boat, but I followed their advice and I'm just as pleased as punch. For the price, it just can't be beat.
Read ALL the reviews - you get what you pay for! It looks like junk and trust me please, it IS junk. I used the home outlet charger ONCE and it charged my 2nd Gen iPod quickly, but then I went to remove it from the outlet. One of the prongs broke off IN my outlet! Luckily there was enough metal sticking out that, once I shut off the breaker, I was able to pull out the metal prong. I've yet to use the car charger, but you can imagine how much faith I have in its repeated use... AVOID!
I was one of the unlucky ones who got a wall charger that it's advertised as 2G compatible, but it just makes my iPod goes "crazy" when I connect this crappy charger. By crazy, I mean, it goes off and on repeatedly like it was being disconnected and connected back again from the wall outlet and it never stops. This is for the wall charger only, but I'm not so willing now to even try the car charger after this mishap. I guess the "you get what you paid for" phrase is ringing loudly through my ears...
Rapid chargers are very useful. one for the home, one for the car, never run out of battery again. Charges in no time.

(Get's you going quickly, not for first-time programmer though)

(Don't buy on an iPod Touch or iPhone!!!!!)

I started iPhone programming with the reference resources on Apple Developer web site. The sample code there are great, but does not have full coverage of all aspects of developing and application and is rather hard to remember which sample app uses which feature(s). I'm hoping that the iPhone Developer's Cookbook would be a better reference material. In some cases, it is. For example, the multi-touch "recipe" is excellent. I followed the example and was able to quickly implement two of my applications that utilizes multi-touch in the user interface.

However, the quality of the different recipes varies. Some are just plain wrong, but fortunately the author has a web site that provides the corrected code. One obvious missing piece is what foundation libraries need to be linked into a project for certain recipes to work. This will reduce the amount of time I need to figure out which libraries to include in the build.

A better index at the end of the book would be nice as well.
I liked this book, it was my first iPhone development book and it got me up and running with some interesting examples quite quickly. The author took a couple of shortcuts that might be called "agile" but I think a competent developer will understand even if you have no prior experience with Objective-C (like myself). I would like to see more books from this author on iPhone development.
As a long time cocoa developer moving to the iPhone, I found this book to be fairly useful (if you can get past the horrendous editing). I wouldn't recommend it to developers new to Apple's platforms though.
This product is not completely visible on an iPhone or iPod Touch rendering this book completely useless. You'll wonder why the examples don't work for you. The reason: you can only see about half the book!!!!!

DO NOT BUY FOR AN IPHONE OR IPOD TOUCH!
This book relies far too heavily on undocumented APIs and third-party add-ons, both of which will break whenever Apple updates the OS. Essentially, she does everything wrong that she could if she wanted a book that would allow someone to learn to write programs that will continue to work on an evolving platform.

I would return it if I could. Absolute waste of money.

(The Good, the Unnecessary, and the Unknown)

This book has three main topics. If any one of them helps you, it's worth the price.

The author has assembled the best set of web links for e-books I have ever encountered. First, there is a set of links into different parts of the Amazon Kindle store that makes searching and shopping easy. Jumping back and forth between this book and the iPhone's Safari browser sounds clunky, but is easier that doing the same searches using the browser alone. And the links to free e-book web sites--most of which have nothing to do with the Kindle, by the way--are numerous and usefully organized. Both of these sets of links will save you time and money.

The main topic of the book--how to use the iPhone Kindle app--was reasonably well-written, complete, and seemed error-free. It also seemed unnecessary. I read Windwalker's book about a week after downloading the Kindle app. Everything I read I had already figured out either from the app's help file or just by using it. If you are able to purchase, download, and begin reading this book, you don't really need it. Not for this section, anyway.

The book's last section contains generous excerpts from the author's book on the Kindle 2. I don't have one and don't anticipate getting one, so I only skimmed this material. No comments, good or bad.

Overall, I recommend buying this book if you plan to read books on your iPhone--or even if you don't, but want a good set of links to free e-books. It's well worth a buck. And your time.

This is a reference manual for twitter. You might think that a twitter reference manual would be on the list of shortest books ever, but there is now a substantial ecosystem built around twitter, well documented in this guide. As a casual and occasional user of twitter I found this to be a useful guide - and found that the ideas in this book made me actually want to start using twitter more effectively.

The book starts with four chapters on the basics of using twitter: signing up, customizing your profile, sending updates, and following others. Then there is a longish chapter on how to use twitter from your mobile phone, covering both SMS and non-SMS interfaces, a nice summary of twitter text commands, twitter mobile applications, and external mobile-friendly sites. Then there's a chapter on twitter searches, including a nice discussion of hashtags, location searches, people search, how to turn searches into favorites, and numerous external twitter search sites.

The book concludes with two chapters on how to extend and improve the twitter experience, including desktop clients, gadgets and widgets, url shorteners and tools for previewing shortened urls, integration with facebook and linked-in, and twitter tracking and trending tools.

The book is well-indexed and has a detailed table of contents, making it easy to use as a reference manual. It also covers tools that you might not know about, suggesting ways of using twitter that are only obvious after you've seen them (much like twitter itself).

I would recommend this book if you plan to use twitter to drive traffic to your site, enhance your social network, or drive your consulting business. And on a more general level, the wealth of tools and uses that has grown up around such a simple concept - a concept so simple that most of us wondered early on why anyone would bother - is instructive at a deep level about the power of social networking. This book serves as a good introduction to that world.

Even folks who had never heard of Twitter a few weeks ago were amazed at the news coverage of events as they unfolded in Iran. Twitter was providing live coverage when many other web sites in Iran were blocked. Twitter played and is playing an increasing important role in modern communication. Twitter has really taken off. But for those who are always a bit challenged with all the new technology and are still wondering what Twitter is all about, this book is an excellent resource.

It is possible to join Twitter and limit your tweets and those you follow to a select few. But you would miss a lot of the lure of Twitter. If you want to take full advantage of everything that Twitter has to offer, then you will definitely need some guidance.

This book actually serves two purposes. It alters you to many of things you can do with Twitter. Then it walks you step by step through how to actually accomplish what you want to do. I suggest you skim the book to understand the things that can be accomplished with Twitter. Then zero in on the things you want to do and take them one at a time. Explore and learn as you go. There is no point in reading this book from cover to cover.

The book tells you in easy to understand detail, how to set up your account, how to follow others and how to send tweets (or messages) which are limited to 140 characters. If you feel the need, you can customize your Twitter profile.

The book will be of most value to those who will use Twitter for more than just keeping up to date with their close friends. There are literally hundreds of plug-ins that work with Twitter, many of them free that can enhance the experience. You would never find all these on your own.

In my opinion, the book is a little short when it comes to commercial applications of Twitter. While Twitter was not started to be a commercial platform, there are many businesses using Twitter very effectively.

If you are wondering what all the fuss is about, or have taken the plunge and want to know how to get the most out of your experience, the book will be a real bargain.

Twitter is one of the fastest growing sites in the world with an over 700% growth in users in 2008 alone. It seems like everyone is jumping on the Twitter bandwagon from celebrities, to companies, to regular folks like you and me.

But Twitter can be intimidating with all of it's special characters, quicks, associated web sites and tools. This guide helps to demystify much of that. The book begins at the beginning - showing you how to set up an account and use Twitter. It walks you through how to search for and find users and information. then it gets into more advanced topics such as using your Twitter feed and extending Twitter with some available 3rd party tools.

It's one of the best intro-guides to the technology of Twitter I have seen in a long time. My one concern is that the technology is changing so fast, that I believe this book will be out of date (or ready for a second edition) in around 6 months.
Although I'm already conversant with twitter, I did finding reading this book useful, because it turned me on to some twitter applications I didn't know about. The author's enthusiasm for the technology is evident in the book and in the tips and suggestions he provides for how to make twitter a useful experience. And whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will learn more about twitter in this book, as well as how to take advantage of all it's technology and the applications it provides.

The one issue I have wit this book is a minor one. As time goes on and the technology advances, it will become less relevant. It's mainly focused on how to use the technology, so while that is useful, it doesn't present strategies for how to use it beyond being familiar with the technology itself.
