(Be prepared for emotions)
『This movie is plain sad - and, I don't mean the movie in general - this is a {Class A} Godzilla movie, however, the only Godzilla movie that brought me to tears. Yes, I know it is only a movie, and Godzilla is just a man in a rubber suit - but, still... the ending sequence of the movie, where a flock of birds are made to lure poor Godzilla into a volcano, to supposedly die, well, it's just damn heart-wrenching!!! I swear, I cry every time at the end, and of course the ending music's sad as well, just makes it hard not to cry. Yes, I'm a 37 year old woman, and I cry to a dang Godzilla movie - so, I can't help it. The only other movie that makes me cry is at the ending of Dot and the Kangaroo - so, there you go.』

(GODZILLA FANS UNITE - BRING 1985 TO DVD!)
『THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GODZILLA MOVIES EVER MADE! WHY HAS THIS ONE BEEN LONG OVERLOOKED FOR DVD RELEASE? GET ON THE STICK AND GET THIS DONE!』

("When Mankind Falls Into Conflict With Nature Monsters Are Born.")
『Thirty years later and it's still about radiation and models.

"Godzilla 1985" is a slightly updated version of the classic Godzilla movie: it's still a guy in a big rubber suit stomping around detailed models, and he's still embroiled in a plot with heavy-handed doses of the Japanese skepticism of radiation. (Given their history, I don't blame them.)

Here Godzilla once again emerges from the sea, and poses a peril to mankind. The Soviets defy the wishes of the Japanese government and launch a nuclear weapon at Godzilla despite the fact that he happens to be in Tokyo at the time. Collateral damage, anyone? The US military fortunately dispatches the Soviet missile with a missile of their own, while consulting with Raymond Burr who is reprising his role as Steve Martin. Burr advises that firepower is not the answer, and that a deeper understanding of Godzilla's motives are key to defeating him. With that in mind they immediately plan to lure Godzilla into a volcano.

Along the way we get to see some special effect typical of the genre. My personal favorite is the "Super-X" secret levitating craft, although Godzilla's encounters with the model boats, helicopters, planes, and buildings are still fun to watch. The best laugh of the movie comes from the drunk guy running from Godzilla after mistaking him for a restaurant waiter repeatedly. (I'm not making that up.) There is another customary device in this movie, namely, everyone in Japan seems to know everybody else. True to form, plot contrivances abound here.

The movie ends with Godzilla in the volcano, although we aren't totally sure whether or not lava can destroy him, as there is always another sequel right around the corner. Please note the sanctimonious voiceover work from Burr during the volcano-luring: it really wants to be deep, but it just doesn't work given the ridiculous onscreen image.

This is a great resurrection of the Godzilla franchise after a decade-long break. It is enjoyable if you like the giant-monster-attacks-models genre, which I do. For those fans I recommend the film wholeheartedly.』

(The legend completed)
『OMG, you have to get to the last scene and the closing theme. Man, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. This is, clearly, not so much the legend reborn reinventing of the Godzilla myth that we'll see in the later series so much is it is the final say in the Godzilla we'd known and loved through the 60's and 70's; this film owes far more to the Kaiju of "Mosura" or "Smog Monster" than to the later epics. For one thing, this is probably the last time when SCIENCE is the hero, triumphing over beasts of men and monsters despite the lack of government funding ;)

True, the special effects in this film are a departure from the 70's fare, but that's what makes this film so special in the Godzilla cannon: It has the FEEL of a modern film but it has the ETHOS of the classical era. It is at once very modern and also quite at home with even the Godzilla's Revenge entries. I waited a long time to see this one (20 years!) and I was not disappointed. This film is, in many respects, "the missing link".

But that last bit, as soon as the techobeat started, I knew it was 1985 all over again, and when the lyrics hit? ... I'm still giggling. First class Godzilla, five thumbs up if I had them.』

(Ouch)
『There's not a lot to say about this movie except that the music is bad, the Godzilla costume is sad, his roar is terrible, and the story stinks.』
『In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the originalGodzillafilm, the lizard king returned to the big screen after a decade of inactivity for this 16th Godzilla feature. Originally released in Japan in 1984 asThe Return of Godzilla, this modern sequel sweeps away decades of sequels and even recaptures the awe and grandeur of the original film, while adding modern technology and increased military firepower. But let's not get too carried away: this is ultimately a classic Japanese monster movie, and the best moments are the Big G's rampages through Tokyo, knocking over buildings and crushing cars and trains underfoot. It's still a guy in a suit stomping through lovingly detailed miniatures, and by American standards it'll always have that delightfully cheesy camp element, but this painstakingly crafted affair is one of the easier such efforts to take seriously. And fear not, you can't keep Godzilla down for long: he returns inGodzilla vs. Biollante. American distributor New World Pictures dubbed and trimmed the Japanese version while adding new American scenes featuring Raymond Burr, who reprises his role as reporter Steven Martin from the originalGodzilla. The videotape also features Marv Newland's goofy animated short spoofBambi Meets Godzilla.--Sean Axmaker

(the only curse here is another below average film in this franchise)
『6.6 THE FILM ITSELF
7.0 VISUALS
6.5 SOUND
3.0 PACKAGING
0.0 EXTRAS

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is a decent film. However, much like the rest of the films in the series, it has some interesting moments, but nowadays more laughably bad moments and ridiculous characters. I mean, seriously. No one sees a freakin' blood trail or finds a crying baby in some random train station / business in the middle of a busy day? Seriously? But aside from the that the new spin here is that Michael is part of a cult called the "Thorn"... er, something like that.

Bottom line: It's a passable film that is fun to watch when you want to reminisce about such a profitable franchise and to remember just how far the series has come since the original film.

7.0 VISUALS
Nothing special here. Alot of grain, and blacks. Nothing stands out, and no special effects really needed or shown. But luckily the movie doesn't need fantastic visuals to still be "scary" (for some).

6.5 SOUND
The typical theme is here which is the best part of the movie. Dialogue is cheesy at times and there's no use of ambience or sound effects for home theater nuts.

3.0 PACKAGING
Nothing special, actually, just plain bad. I wish the creators and the company would've spent more time building up these films instead of just sending them to DVD with bland menus.

0.0 EXTRAS
Absolutely nothing here. Bare bones DVD. Just the film. Unexcusable.

IN CLOSING
The film is mediocre, and passable at best. A new wrinkle in the mythology of the show is nice and mixes some things up. But the film certainly isn't scary for anything - especially after all these years. But for fans of the series or horror movies in general, there will be some fun in watching this film. No special features at all though really makes this DVD set a let down. Is this the VHS age or what?

6.6/10 "PASSABLE"』

(Mrs. Hub loves Halloween)
『I am a huge fan of the Halloween Movies and was unable to find this movie anywhere else for the low low price. Thanks Amazon!』

(HALLOWEEN 6)
『HALLOWEEN:The Curse Of Michael Myers which is the 6th sequel to the Halloween saga and should've been called HALLOWEEN 6: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS was a so-so kind of movie.

It was okay, but it wasn't that great and was somewhat predictable since a lot of the same sort of action and plot happens again in this movie such as immature teenagers partying, getting high, teenagers having premarital sex, and always having the jerks and the teens who get laid die off, just like all those characters did in the first 5 Halloween installments and just like they always do in your typcial horror flick including all the FRIDAY THE 13TH's, the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET's, HELL NIGHT, PROM NIGHT, THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW, etc.; except in this HALLOWEEN sequel Laurie Strode's alcoholic abusive father John Strode(Bradford English)decides to be optimistic by buying the old Myers house and move his family in there since he was never able to get that house sold after being vacant for at least over 30 years since every Haddonfield resident felt the Myers house was haunted ever since Michael Myers killed his sister at age 6 in 1963, but John and his wife(Kara Strode)end up dying off in the middle of this movie and the Myers house blows up into smithereens at the end of the movie while being chased by the relentless Michael Myers(George Wilbur).

This horror flick also takes me back to memory lane to when I was still living in the Imperial Valley in my hometown(El Centro,CA)when Halloween VI had it theatrical release in the Fall of 1995.』

(Now this is a Halloween movie!)
『No sequel in the Halloween series has divided fans more than part 6: The Curse of Michael Myers. You either love it or hate it, but I thought part 6 had everything a Michael Myers movie should have. It was extremely suspenseful, Michael was arguably in his scariest form, the acting was good for the most part, and it left you wanting more. When I saw H6 in the theater, I couldn't wait for the sequel to find out what happened. Unfortunately the producers decided to abandon the whole storyline from parts 4 through 6 in order for Jamie Lee to reprise her role as Lorie Strode in the teen friendly H20. So we'll never get a proper sequel.

Personally, it's one of my favorite and most watched in the series behind parts 1 and 4. I just wish we could get a blu-ray release which includes the Producer's cut. I highly recommend adding Curse to your Halloween collection.』

『The series premise continues to stretch so thin it could dissipate. This time, Michael Myers chases his unfortunate niece around, then goes after a family who happen to be living in his former home. This is slasher-ism at its most cynical, and a thoroughly unpleasant, unimaginative, and unredeeming movie. Donald Pleasence, the one holdover from the original film, looks like he'd rather be anywhere than in this thing.--Tom Keogh

(Scooby rocks)
『It's the typical Scooby movie plot, but this time the zombies are real. Great movie.』

(Perfect)
『This was exactly what I wanted. It was in perfect condition and was sent here quickly.』

(Horrified me as a child.)
『If you want to watch Scooby Doo with your children, try "Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders", "Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico", "Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster", "Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase" or "Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School".

This is far too dark, and scary, for most young children, or even older children.

I adore this movie now that I am a teenager, though. It's great for older Scooby Doo fans.』

(Not for young kids - too scary and deals with supernatural concepts.)
『Though this is a good movie to watch as an adult or kids over 7...my kids 3, 5 and 8 watched it tonight and my 5 year old does not want to watch any more Scooby-Doo because it was too scary. My youngest looked worried and I wanted to turn it off but, Dad felt differently so we watched it. The youngest two started to hide toward the last 1/4 of the movie.』

(Zombie Island Scooby)
『For a cartoon featurette, this one reallly stands out. Mostly because it's not the usual hijinks of the Mystery Machine crew battling bad guys dressed as goons to commit crime and meyhem. This time the spooks are surprisingly real, even though it takes some convincing from the fab four and the famous pooch. As usual, the haunts and creeps are looked at from the disbelieving view until the forms take shape of real occurrences. Even the songs that set up the scenes refer to past ghost and ghouls found as always have been "fake". Which makes this round of investigation more chilling when the creeps and haunted settings are true blue to the source.
Although the place located is refered to Zombie Island, there are alot of fun things on the way, including fiesty pigs, attacking alligators, and a swarm of lively cats. In fact, the reference here to cats and cat people almost steal the storyline away from the fact that the zombies are indeed the good guys, and the catatonic beings the real villains. This leads to frightening confrontations with really violent night creatures that mean business in fulfilling their mission of darkness.
Also, if anyone has seen the original Creature From The Black Lagoon, there is a nice little scene of a riverboat driver that is the spitten image of the one in the famous black and white movie. Definitely one for the halloween movie collection, cartoon or not.』

『A dog and his pals encounter creepy characters at a haunted house on a Louisiana bayou.』

(From Hell)
『Johnny Depp is incredible! If you are a fan of his and dark films, you will love this.』

(Not a bad film or blu ray!)
『Not a bad film for what it's worth. The first time through I was maybe expecting more but the blu is worth a purchase.』

(Like A Surgeon...)
『Jack The Ripper has fascinated generations of would-be detectives (including myself). The fact that this legendary serial-murderer was never caught has always brought chills. FROM HELL takes some theories about the case, mixes them w/ facts, and adds a bleak air of dread and doom. Johnny Depp (Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, The Ninth Gate, Sweeny Todd) plays an opium-addicted police inspector, drawn into the action due to his ability to "see" certain future events in his dreams. Heather Graham is the sweet yet tough prostitute, Mary Kelly, who assists in the investigation. Ian Holm (Alien, Brazil, The Fifth Element, Lord Of The Rings) plays a kindly old doctor w/ extremely valuable information. Thick w/ symbology, conspiracy, and mystery, FROM HELL plays (somewhat) like a Sherlock Holmes story, w/ elements of horror sewn in. This is a great movie for Depp fanatics, as he comes through once again. Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter And The...) is wonderfully low-key in his Watson-esque role as Depp's assistant. Highly recommended...』

(ALL of this edition DEFECTIVE!)
『Rotten or NO QUALITY CONTROL - 4 out of 4 sets that I've tried have defective menus - They are so messed up and unwatchable that in some cases the bonus material cannot be activated - Thus making this 2 disc edition utterly useless! The film portion on the first disc plays normally (its menus are also unwatchable.』

(Great work!)
『Johnny Depp never fails to amaze me. He is one of the bravest actors out there and will take on any role offering a challenge. This movie is great and if you check old photos of the crime scenes and the details, you'll find they did an amazing job sticking to the facts. If you're into Jack the Ripper stuff, this is a must see!』
『Heavy on atmosphere and light on everything else,From Hellis visually impressive while lacking the depth of the acclaimed graphic novel it's based upon. Making their third feature since 1993'sMenace II Society, twins Allen and Albert Hughes approach the Jack the Ripper case with physical precision, re-creating the gritty Whitechapel district of 1888 London in meticulous detail. What they've forgotten is the sheer terror that gripped Whitechapel in the wake of the Ripper's slaying of five prostitutes, investigated here by a Scotland Yard sleuth (Johnny Depp) who uses opium, laudanum, and absinthe to fuel his semiprescient visions of the slayings. Heather Graham attempts a slippery Cockney accent as a would-be victim, while Ian Holm steals the show as a has-been surgeon with devilish delusions of grandeur. Violence is obliquely suggested or briefly graphic, but no matter how you cut it,From Hellis only marginally thrilling as it treads familiar territory.--Jeff Shannon

『Taking you deep into the West Virginia wilderness , director Rob Schmidt's vision of 70's style horror may not be startlingly original, but following a familiar path, Wrong Turn (2003) is a shocking and effective thriller, that contrary to the title, makes very few missteps.

Trying to avoid gridlocked traffic, Chris Flynn (Desmond Harrington) detours down a back road and rams his classic Mustang into a SUV, stranded in the middle of the road. The occupants, a party of five young friends are shaken, but unhurt. Flynn along with Jessie (Eliza Dushku), Scott (Jeremy Sisto), and his fiancé Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), head off looking for help, leaving Francine (Lindy Booth), and boyfriend Evan (Kevin Zegers) behind. As you might expect, it is not too long before some seriously bad things start to happen, as the terrified group encounters a group of grotesque mountain men, deformedby generations of inbreeding, for whom homicide is a way of life.

Making a break into the woods, the group is pursued by the freaks, who have deadly skills will a variety of weapons. The ensuing chase is highlighted by a suspenseful confrontation, high in the forest treetops, that features a jaw dropping kill. There isn't much down time as the film proceeds to a fiery finale. The mountain men are ferocious fighters, and die very hard. Created by the team of special effects genius Stan Winston (Terminator 2, Predator, Jurassic Park), the three principal freaks are designated according to their appearance, as One-Eye, Three Finger, and Saw-Tooth.

Wrong Turn takes a while to get going, but once things break open, the story flows pretty smoothly, with good pacing that provides shocks and thrills, all the way to the end. Accepting killer mountain men, is the major roadblock, in what is otherwise a pretty credible tale, that features some rather memorable kills. The acting is solid, and the story moves forward without being sidetracked or slowed by insipid dialog, or extraneous scenes.

This edition has been out for a while, and is a pretty solid package. The dual sided disc contains fullscreen and widescreen versions of the film, with various extra features spread on each side. A commentary track with Rob Schmidt, Eliza Dushku, and Desmond Harrington is available on both versions. The extras include featurettes on the late Stan Winston, Eliza Dushku, and the film's special effects. Wrong Turn is highly recommended to fans of the backwoods horror genre.』

("Horror At Its Absolute Best")
『I first discovered "Wrong Turn" when I was scanning through my TV late one night and saw it on a movie channel. I had never heard of it but read the info on my television guide and decided to give it a try. I am a sucker for a good scary film and I was not at all disappointed by "Wrong Turn". The film is about a bunch of young people in their early twenties whose car breaks down in the backwoods on a long deserted stretch of an abandoned road in West Virginia. What happens to them as the movie unfolds is horrific as these people come in contact with a bunch of in-breeders who feed off human beings. The scenes are excellently directed and acted, the action is bone-chilling, and the suspence of it all will leave you breathless. If your a fan of films like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Wrong Turn" will not let you down. This film, which was a huge boxoffice hit, was followed by "Wrong Turn 2" that was released directly to DVD. Also, just in time for Halloween, "Wrong Turn 3-Left For Dead" arrives in DVD stores in October, 2009. This particular DVD version of "Wrong Turn" features both the widescreen and full screen editions of the movie as well as many bonuses. There is commentary by director Rob Schmidt and its stars Desmond Harrington and Eliza Dushku, 4 featurettes are included on the making of the film, and much more.』

(unconvincing)
『I don't see how this film could have received such a high average rating.

To me everything about the film was unconvincing: the acting, the story, and the directing. There's a few gory scenes here and there, and a couple of scary moments, but that's about it.
It's not consistent in keeping up the suspense, and the mystery surrounding the twisted killers is lost too early the film.

To me this film was just background noise, even in mediocre films there's often at least one factor that carries the film through: acting, story, directing...but this film has none of that.
They pumped alot of money into the film and hired a well-known actor and actress, but they should have spent the money developing a more interesting script instead.
I think that's the core of my complaints, it's just not interesting at all to watch, there's nothing that drew me into the film, and I didn't really care if the victims died.

There's been some good horror movies made in recent years such as Hostel, the House of Wax, and the new version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre...but Wrong Turn is not of the same caliber as those.
Even good horror movies need a good storyline.

(missing quality)
『Dvd was sent without the cover. in blank a cover ,this item description was not like that. very unhappy and dissapointed.』

(Very good and suspenceful)
『I really enjoyed this movie it was extremely suspenceful in parts and I was glued to the screen. The charaters where beliveable and well-developed and well acted particularly by Kevin Zegers and Eliza Dushku.

Two cars collide on a short cut road - ostensibly they both took a "wrong turn" to get there - so two of thm stay by the cars to watch their stuff while the others head off into the woods in search for help.

Little do they know that a family of inbred cannibal rednecks live nearby and begin hunting them diown and killing them off one-by-one.

The deaths scnes were pretty good and there was quite a bit of gore and A LOT of suspence. It really makes you care about the characters, too. In slasher movies in normally rooting for the killer bu theres was times when I felt like screaming "RUN!!" at the screen.

Looking at reviews this is a love-it-or-hate-it movie. I loved it and would deffinatly reccomend it.』

『A CARLOAD OF SIX TEENS FIND THEMSELVES TRAPPED IN THE WOODS OF WEST VIRGINIA, HUNTED DOWN BY CANNIBALISTIC MOUNTAIN MEN GROSSLY DISFIGURED THROUGH GENERATIONS OF IN-BREEDING.』
『Sultry Eliza Dushku runs for her life in a snug white tanktop, pursued by inbred backwoods cannibals inWrong Turn. Dushku (Bring It On,Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and a clump of other attractive young people (includingSix Feet Under's Jeremy Sisto and Desmond Harrington ofWe Were Soldiers) get waylaid in the deep West Virginia wilds by a trio of grotesque mountain men, all given realistic ugliness by makeup artist Stan Winston (Interview with the Vampire,Terminator 2).Wrong Turnis the sort of movie where you know who's going to die by the order they appear in the credits, but fans of the inbred backwoods cannibals genre (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,The Hills Have Eyes) will find much to savor, particularly the scene in which Dushku and Harrington are trapped under a squalid bed while the inbred backwoods cannibals prepare one of their friends for dinner. (The Vampire Diaries : The Fury)
『Received book in very good condition and seller was very nice. Also, received this book within just a few days of ordering.』

(The Fury - Vampire Diaries - Book 3)
『Let's catch up a little - We still have the love triangle - Elena (the girl), Stefan (good boy vamp), and Damon (brother to Stefan and also bad boy vamp). The last book ends with Elena dieing in the river and Stefan trying to kill Damon because he believes Damon is to blame for Elena's death. This book starts off with Elena waking up! Not dead but undead! Apparently between Stefan giving her blood (showing his love) and Damon black mailing her to take his blood - she had enough vamp blood to actually turn into a vamp herself! But... wait for it...... when she wakes up she thinks she belongs to ...wait for it....Damon! And that is how to start a book! So the rest of the book is about Elena finding her way through life as a vamp.

I loved the 3rd one too! It is a great series as all of L J Smith's series are!』

(---)
『I was pleasantly surprised with this third installment. If you've been struggling through the first two, keep with it because the third is actually enjoyable and worth reading.

It is still cliche and predictable at times, but much improved regarding detail and the story itself. It gains a depth that the first two never even touched. The ending was unexpected, and while it's not what I would prefer, it fits the story perfectly.

I am still annoyed with the random scene changes which distract from the story and cause it to flow unevenly, but they are less frequent than in the first two. I am thinking by now that this is just a quirk of the author which she seems to be maturing out of.

While it's still not up to par with other series or novels of it's genre and themes, it's extremely improved compared to Smith's previous works in the series. I'm actually glad to have kept pushing on.』

(Wonderful! Enchanting!)
『I really enjoyed this series and each book just keeps getting better and better. I love the whole love triangle of two vampire brothers and the beautiful young girl torn between them!
It inspired me to write a vampire novel myself, THE DARKEST HOUR about a love triangle between a human, a vampire, and a beautiful young woman.』

(Another fantastic read!)
『The thrills keep on coming in this book as the mystery deepens and you find yourself trying to solve the mystery along with the other characters.
The twist at the end leaves you reeling and although not the ending you'd expect it is however a very good ending.』

『In the chilling conclusion, Stefan determines to end the feud with his brother Damon--whatever the cost. Elena gives in to her craving for blood and confronts the ultimate evil, while Damon mocks both Elena and Stefan.』

(Great love story!)
『Teenage Poppy, petite, dynamic Poppy, has pancreatic cancer, a death sentence not even she can escape. Then her lifelong friend (and secret love) James confides that he can offer her eternal life--as a vampire. With the assistance of her devoted twin brother, Phillip, they arrange her death and passage into the Night World, "a secret society of vampires, witches, and other creatures of darkness that live among us." Since vampires are not allowed to love one another, even her eternal life is in jeopardy.

I loved this story. It is such a sweet love story. I thought I was 16 again and me being 37, that is hard to do. I think L J Smith has a talent for writing. Definitely, this is one to keep on your shelf at home.

(Storytime Then Naptime Children!)
『I know this is suppose to be a YA book but it was beyond juvenile. It seems to be written on about a 5th grade reading level, and it seems to be meant for those not much older than that (11-12). I honestly felt like this was a 12 yr old telling a story to a girlfriend. Simplistic, mushy, tragic (from the heroines pov), and boring. Even the parts that were meant to be exciting were told so matter of fact (like one would say the Pledge of Allegiance), that they were not exciting at all.

Granted, I am not a Young Adult. I am an adult. I do however read my share of YA books from this Genre. I loved The Twilight Saga, The Wicked Series, The Summoning (the first book from The Darkest Power series By: Kelly Armstrong), and I just started reading The House of Night series By: PC Cast. I loved all of them.

I read this Story in the Night World :Book One which has 2 more stories and I hated it so much I didn't even read the second story.』

(Twilight for tweens)
『Sort of Twilight for tweens. Not any where near as good, but a similar
chaste vampire romance without any gore. A bit immature in terms of
tone. If Twilight if for seventeen year olds, Night World is for
twelve year olds.』

(My first L J Smith's book)
『I had this book when I was in high school. It was a gift from my friend. At first, she kept asking me if I'd read it. I had thought to myself, What's so special about this book that made my friend anxious for my response?

Well, afterwards, I agreed with her. This book was very different from any vampire book I've ever read. It's fresh, and the idea of a secret society exists among us is exciting, intriguing and yet not impossible...
What makes this book and the rest of the series special is the fact that it discusses the notion of not only vampires, but werewolves, witches and shapeshifters existence.'Your high school teacher could be one, and so could your boyfriend.'

I also agree with one of the readers that LJ Smith's portrayal of the vampire's transformation in this book is clear and sharp. It invites us to feel and explore what Poppy experiences and how she changes physically, mentally and emotionally. (Kudos to LJ Smith!)

I got hooked to the Nightworld series from reading this book and had been collecting the books year after year. In my country, it used to be scarce and difficult to find. However, I'm proud to say I have all of the books except the last one (Strange fate). (Any news when will it be published?) I'm so happy that Amazon have other LJ Smith's books that I haven't read or owned such as Dark Vision, Secret Circle&Heart of Valor.』

(The Night World)
『Oh I really do love this book as well as the rest of the series, but lets focus on this book for now. Yes it is a brilliant book, yes it's got a fabulous story long, and YES it will have you reading till the early hours of the morning, as well as falling in love with some of the characters, but was it well written? Well...no.

I guess some people would quite like L J Smith's easy style of writing, the quick pace the story moves at and the readability of it, but I myself would have rathered something a bit more sophistocated. Needless to say, LJ has always had an amazing talent of making the most irresistable male charactors, and I'm willing to give up sophistocation if it means a brill story line and lovebale characters.

The story is about Poppy North and how she is diagnosed with cancer and with no way to survive. Or so she thought, until her friend since primary school, James Rasmussen (who she also happens to secretly fancy) tells her that he is a vampire, and can save her if she changes into one too. And agree she does, but her change won't be an easy one, with Poppy's fear, over protective twin brother Phil, and sadness to leave her family behind getting in the way, and also the little fact that she still loves James in a different way than he loves her.

LJ has created an amazing new Night World, a society of vampires, Witches, werewolves and shape shifters who are forbidden to tell humans about te night world...or fall in love with them.

Poor James ends up doing both.』

『If you think light romantic horrorhasto be poorly written, you haven't tried L.J. Smith. Meet the denizens of the "Night World," a secret society of "creatures of the night" that has only two rules: never reveal its existence to humans andneverfall in love with them. Smooth and exciting, this is froth at its best. Smith's fans will also be thrilled and chilled by the re-release of one of her most popular titles, The Hunter.』
『When she is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Poppy is astounded when her best friend, James, reveals that he is a vampire and has always loved her, and Poppy is forced to choose between dying young and becoming a vampire.』

(Non-Stop Riff-Attack Mayhem)
『You really get your money's worth with this laugh a minute riff-a-thon. Even better is the added bonus of saying goodbye to Joel and hello Mike!

Now I understand why this episode is so revered, not a moment is wasted tearing this film to comic shreds and with so much energy it really adds to the enjoyment level. The best moment has to be when Mitchell gets into a shouting match with a 10 year old that is so ridiculous it didn't even need the S.O.L. Crew's commentary to get a laugh.

A truly enjoyable episode, but the most joy came from seeing Joel get rocketed off into space and the promise of Mike taking over as host.』

(A+ great example of what made this show so AWESOME)
『my favorite line "Why would anyone want to do that with Mitchell"

This has become legendary in my circle of friends. Just calling out the name Mitchell causes a round of laughter and makes us pull out this movie for another viewing. I have owned the VHS copy of this episode for years and have watched it over and over again. So now that I am finally updating to DVD this is the first one I bought along with The Essentials (Manos, the Hands of Fate / Santa Claus Conquers the Martians) Yes fans vary on weather Joel episodes are better then Mike episodes and some where sad or stopped watching when Joel left (not me). But everyone seems to agree Mitchell is classic MST3K you cant do better as far as the writing goes. It has some of the best one liners in it and is a must see for anyone who is a fan of the show.

(My Cousin Was In Mitchell!!)
『My cousin Sigi Frolich was the coroner in Mitchell!! When MST3K was on the air, I ran a video store in Santa Barbara. One day, while they were airing Mitchell, I turned off the movie playing, turned on MST and made all the customers watch Sigi get out of his coroners car!!! Its only for a second, but it's him and he's briefly leaning over the corpse a few minutes later. Sigi passed away a few years ago, he was in his mid- nineties! Oh yeah...almost forgot to say..MITCHELL IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MST3K SHOWS IN ITS HISTORY!!!!』

(MST3K and Mitchell Rock!)
『I'm probably not going to say anything that most fans of MST3K haven't already said, but I'll try. "Mitchell," for me, is the best razzing Joel and the 'Bots have ever done of a film. NOT the best film, mind you. :) Oh boy, do they lay waste to Joe Don Baker: his weight, his drinking, his stupidity---I mean in the movie, Joe Don---don't hurt me!; his bad acting. But the whole movie is enough of a stinker to provide plenty of fodder for the boys. This is the pivotal episode where Joel (after the movie) leaves the Satellite of Love for Earth, only to have Mike Nelson replace him (not shown here---just a "Push the button, Frank" from Dr. Forrester.

But the jokes are what make the show and they fly fast and furious:
"Hey, it's the chase scene's pace car!"
"Keep you eye on the sammich!"
"That cat Mitchell's a bad...(shut yo mouth!)...talkin' 'bout Mitchell!"
"He looks like one of the kids from Fame." "Which one?" "Any of 'em!"
"Hey, wasn't John Saxon in this movie?" (his last scenes cut out due to time constraints)

The visual gags are gangbusters also, like Mitchell's hidden gun sliding down the front of his pants, leading Joel to say, "What THE?!!"
Catching Mitchell with Baby Oil near his bed while carousing with Linda Evans and (Joel&the 'Bots) screaming in horror at the mere thought.

It just goes on&on. This MST3K is a must-own, both historically for Joel's passing of the torch to Mike and for flat-out hilarity that will leave you aching with laughter. Highly recommended.』

(" Mitchell ".....And to think that people were actually expected to PAY to watch this, in 1975!!)
『Poor Joe Don Baker. He catches hell from Joel and the Bots, for this walk-through of a part. Too bad, without their hilarious commentary, this would be unwatchable. The one-liners just roll, right on through to the miserable ending of this little stinkfest. Look for the line where Mitchell is entertaining a call-girl that just walked off the set of THE BIG VALLEY,and forgot to change wardrobe. He hands her a can of Beer. " You've got me wrong, I'd like a glass." Mitchell: " Uh..OK, Your Majesty." Priceless. Long live giving bad movies their just due!!』
『This farewell episode for Joel Hodgson is a sentimental favorite but even more worth it for the hilarity spawned by our captured Satellite of Love friends. The movie centers on the hapless, big lug cop named Mitchell (Joe Don Baker), who fights the rich and powerful drug-dealing bad guys. Along the way, Mitchell finds himself investigating murder, falling "in sex" with Linda Evans, helping an elderly woman like a good son, and telling a bothersome wisecracking kid to buzz off. Match that with clothing and music from 1975 and you've got prime fodder for the biting remarks of Joel, Crow, and Tom Servo--which, of course, they take advantage of handily and in abundance.Mitchellhas a few quiet areas but these are spotty, and when Joel and his mechanical friends start wisecracking, it's all hilariously worth the wait.Mitchell: So '70s, you'd swear Kris Kristofferson was moaning the theme song in the background.--Karen Karleski
