The shows don't feel dated and they were made with a great deal more care.』

(AWESOME!) 『I LOVE this video and need to do it more often! My problem now is I have 2 little boys and when I get on the floor to do it, they want to get on top of me. BUT, if you don't have that problem this is for you. It has different levels of excercises, so there is something for the "new ab excerciser" and those with strong abs already. If your just getting started, workout 1 is the easiest and best for you, but don't be surprised if you can't get through the whole 10 minutes- it's hard, but you will see a significant increase in how much you can do within a week. She is great about reminding you to keep your lower back on the floor and doing the excercises correctly.』

When it comes to working abs, there just aren't any really valid "tricks". All the newer ab workout tapes seem so gimmicky to me. This tape is perfect for following a basic 15 minute ab workout everyday. It just doesn't get any better.』

(Tamilee Webb deserves to get as good as she gives) 『I work out with Tamilee Webb almost every morning. I have her first two abdominal exercise tapes, ABS OF STEEL and ABS OF STEEL, PART TWO. ABS OF STEEL, the topic of this review, will ease you into daily ab workouts and improve both your health and appearance.
Tamilee Webb succeeds with ABS OF STEEL because she does not make you feel lazy or out of shape if you can't keep up with her. Tamilee starts with a short warm-up/stretch session to get your blood flowing and muscles ready. Then Tamilee performs the ABS OF STEEL exercise routines in three ten-minute segments. You can do one a day but if ready for more, do a second or even all three, two options I sometimes, tee-hee, exercise.
Tamilee Webb varies the difficulty in the three ABS OF STEEL segments. Either she does this purposely or it's a helpful matter of fate, because if you find one or two of the segments too challenging, you can still do the other(s). FYI, the second ABS OF STEEL segment will work you the hardest; the third segment is next most challenging; and the first segment the easiest. But as you work out with ABS OF STEEL, you will note Tamilee reminds you to take a break if you have a difficult time keeping up.
Speaking of what she may or may not be doing on purpose, Tamilee Webb wears cheeky French cut workout shorts throughout ABS OF STEEL. In the warm-up segment, the shorts shows off a good amount of her big beautiful bottom when she rests on her stomach and also as she pulls her knees to her chest. But(t) it gets real interesting in the third and especially the first ab workout segments, where we see several close-ups of Tamilee's bulbous behind. Maybe Tamilee doesn't know what she's doing, or she doesn't know what the male director and camera operators are doing! Not that I fault Tamilee Webb for not hiding how attractive she is. At the end of the second workout segment, Tamilee even bounces her ample bosoms and lets out a breathy sigh far sexier than one would expect for an exercise instructor.
It is unfortunate that the ABS OF STEEL producers don't value you as much as Tamilee Webb does. Tamilee puts her heart and soul (as well as some other parts of her, as I previously mentioned) into teaching and encouraging you but the budget guys issued the video tape in the cheap, low-quality "SLP" speed, which means poor sound quality and an image that could be sharper. And God forbid they spend a few extra dollars editing. ABS OF STEEL seems to be a "live" shoot. They let Tamilee Webb's mistakes (mostly verbal miscues) fly instead of fixing them with edits or overdubs. Also, at the end of the first exercise routine Tamilee unwittingly continues working when she should instead finish but rather than re-shoot for ten seconds, the ABS OF STEEL producers abruptly cut to Tamilee in a different pose, where she concludes the segment. The title of this tape is ABS OF STEEL, the boss is pinching pennies of copper. Tamilee Webb deserves better.』

(They knew The Secret) 『This movie is about two nuns who come to this country to build a children's hospital. But it is more than about two nuns who want to build a children's hospital. It's about faith, focus, using the Laws of Attraction. They are a wonder to watch as they steadfastly move forward, never losing site of their goal, making modifications and slight concessions to keep on target. For anyone who is interested in The Secret or wonders about the Law of Attraction, this is the movie for you. I've watched thousands of films, and cannot think of one that so obviously shows the result of what can happen when a goal is set, steps are taken, unexpected obstacles manuevered and that goal finally achieved using intense focus and unwaivering belief. So, if you think that this movie is just about two nuns who want to build a children's hospital, think again.』
(How about finally releasing this on DVD?) 『Better yet, how about releasing a Loretta Young box set with this movie, Ramona (Fox's first Technicolor movie), Kentucky, Suez, The Story of Alexander Graham Bell (should have been out on DVD years ago) and Mother is a Freshman to name just a few????? It is set in Germany and a Prince goes to Heidelburg where he is treated like everyone else and even falls in love with a bar maid. In the end duty calls and he must return to his life of royalty, but not before we are treated to a beautiful story. There is heavy emphasis on drinking throughout, so I don't recommend it for the most young. But that not withstanding, I heartily recommend the movie. I loved it!』
(The Student Prince) 『Excellent film, excellent service from provider. Box of the VHS tape was in "Like new" condition. I had seen the film as a youngster, and enjoyed it immensely. Of course, I was sorry that Mario Lanza did not complete the film. Various stories circulated regarding the reason. However, Edmund Purdom did an excellent job as the Prince. Ann Blyth was radiant and in superb voice as Kathy. I saw her at Dallas Music Hall during the run of the Texas State Fair in the mid-60s as Anna in "The King and I," a beautiful production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein favorit. Michael Ansara was vigorous and forceful in his portrayal of the King. Ann Blyth was also in the filmed "Rose Marie" in 1954, and gave a wonderful performance. I have not seen "The Student Prince" advertised on DVD so was happy to have it on VHS. It would have been even more wonderful if I had a giant TV screen. Thank you.』
(Student Prince) 『The Student Prince is my all time favorite movie! It is beyond my understanding that people can view this plot as simple. It is very true to life. Just amazing! Many people wish that they had grown up with this movie, I did. I don't like older movies, but this is amazing. My brother made a DVD copy of the VHS movie just so I could watch it over and over again. I don't know how many times I've seen it, but it always makes me feel young and old at the same time. An amazing movie to say the least. I think that it is only that it is "too real to life" that it has not made the "classic" list.
This is the only review that I have ever written.

(Not just a "chick" movie.) 『I was dragged to this movie as a young boy. What young man wants to see a movie with a singing prince and a love story? It didn't take long for me to enjoy the story of male bonding by singing and drinking in the beer garden soon to be followed by a sword fight. I can almost imagine myself serenading the beautiful and sexy barmaid (Ann Bylthe), especially with the flawless voice from GOD(Mario Lanza) lip-synced to near perfection by the prince(Edmund Purdom). All this plus an arrogant jerk is shown the error of his ways. Oh yeah, and the love story is classic. With 20-20 hindsight it's obvious that losing Lanza,the actor, was a stroke of luck.』

This 1962 special marked the last hurrah of Mr. Magoo, who starred in 43 cartoon shorts, including two Oscar® winners, from the UPA Studio between 1949 and 1959. Magoo appears as Scrooge in a Broadway production of "A Christmas Carol" in this minimally animated hour. The play-within-the-show features forgettable songs by Jules Styne and Bob Merrill: Tiny Tim ("played" by the animated character Gerald McBoing-Boing) sings, oddly, of "razzle berry dressing" and "woofle jelly cake." This retelling of Dickens's holiday standard is much tamer than Richard Williams's Oscar-winning adaptation: the ghosts aren't scary, nor does Magoo confront the specters of Ignorance and Want. Small children who might befrightened by more dramatic versions of the story will enjoy this mild program. And the self-satisfied chuckles and bromides Jim Backus gives Magoo in his lighter moments remain as delightful as ever. This film is suitable for ages 6 and older.--Charles Solomon
Little Drummer Boy: The model animation techniques in this 1968 Rankin and Bass TV chestnut are primitive by today's standards, and picky kids may reject them out of hand. The story, however, which elaborates on the popular Christmas song about a shepherd boy who plays his drum for the baby Jesus and makes the animals dance, is a little more tough-minded than you might expect. The kid begins the story as what we'd now call a neglected child, a surly urchin who says he hates all people. He's pulled back from the brink, first by learning to make music, and then by his encounter with the Christ child. The underlying message alone--that everybody has something worth contributing--qualifies the show for holiday-perennial status. The big-name voice performers, Jose Ferrer and Greer Garson (who narrates), may be a little too ponderous for the occasion, but the familiar cartoony tones of Paul Frees (aka Boris Badenov) and June Forey (aka Rocket J. Squirrel) help liven up the proceedings. It's only 23 minutes long, so it's worth a shot for younger children.--David Chute

The film is not for everyone - don't force the wives or kids to watch it, but for those who let the film be what it is, not what they want it to be, it's a true cinematic masterpiece.

(Perfectly Flawless) 『This is a Thank you to Snyder, WB for releasing the definitive, uncut movie of Watchmen. Yes, granted we got the Director's cut back in July, but this is the icing on the cake, the happy ending, winning TD, the creme de la creme of Director Cut movies. Even though we have to shell out some $$, Yaaaaahhh Capitalism.
The movie is nicely packaged and comes with the complete animated motion comic DVD. Now most will say why get this? Why drop like 30 something bucks? In a economy crisis we're in? Why just get the director's cut, the Tales of the Black Freighter, separately? I think this Cut with the Tales of the Black freighter, interwoven in gives the story more depth, more "meat" to this movie, as in the comic itself there is so much that is going on, so much layering in story, characters, you just do not get that if you buy TOBF and Watchmen Regular Director's Cut, doesn't feel whole... as this, with the Ultimate Cut, it feels whole even though longer but feels totally in sync with the graphic novel itself. I have not yet watched it with Commentary with Snyder and co writer Dave Gibbons which I think will be very interesting, get an intimate insight from one of today's most visionary directors.
Over all very pleased with this edition, nearly flawless, as great as Dark Knight Blu Ray I have to say.

(An almost perfect box set) 『First, kudos to Snyder and WB for announcing before the earlier DVD release of Watchmen that an Ultimate Cut would be released, providing a date, and following up on it. Anybody that did the research wasn't hurt by a second release of this film.
Onto the product itself: this version of the film is incredibly faithful to the book, and both my girlfriend and I found we preferred it to the Theatrical. The added material from the director's cut and Tales from the Black Freighter both add to the layers of the film. What made the original comic book so epic was the multiple layers that the story worked on, and the ultimate cut really showcases as much. The special features are also great, however that's also where this set is less than perfect.
Including the complete motion comic is a wonderful addition. However, the digital copy with expiration date is fairly useless, and I would have much rather had a disc that allowed the viewer to select either the theatrical version or the director's cut. My only other gripe is that "Under the Hood," which is included and is a wonderful addition, leaves out some of the best material from the original book and could have been included. The one at Hottopic has a softer material, more slippery feeling, more fur like, and the image looks very different on the fleece than this one. This fleece has more muted colors, not as bright. He was really proud of it, but she was "too busy to bother with her little brother." He piled up a ton of snowballs and when Claire and her friends showed up he started hurling them at them, but they got the best of him and even smashed his igloo. He was so upset his sister didn't defend him, he went into her room and ripped up a card he had given her. Even his mom didn't seem to care. She wouldn't even look at the fort he built in his room. He put on his wolf suit and jumped on the kitchen counter. Max was angry and things just got worse. When his mother grabbed at him, he bit her!
Max ran through the night, hopped onto a boat and drifted in the ocean for days before encountering land. He saw a "curious orange glow" in the distance and when he got closer he saw "six enormous creatures by the fire." They were magical, different and giant, each with "long claws and fantastically sharp teeth." They were wild things, just like Max, and he wanted to join them. At first he made the mistake of trying to wreck their houses, but soon Douglas set him straight. They were going to eat him up, but Max told them to "Beeeeee stilllll!" He told them he was a king and the wild things were ready to obey him. However, Max had a lot to learn and being a king was a bit more than he bargained for!
This is a book that anyone who has seen the movie will quickly gobble right up! Unfortunately, this book, and the last two, spend way too many pages of details unnecessary to the plot. As a result, Jessica's sleuthing gets short-changed and rushed.
I favor the books that take place in Cabot Cove since they involve Jessica's close friends Seth and Mort. Interaction with them is kept to a minimum due to visiting Scotland Yard's George, whom Donald Bain introduced awhile back as a potential romantic interest for Jessica. They still can't make up their minds where to take their friendship, which further reduces pages for sleuthing. Seems like the memory of Frank's love promoted in the TV series is now gone.
The storyline has good potential. Too bad not all of it made it into the book.

(A Holiday Treat) 『The latest "Murder She Wrote" caper is a celebration in more ways than one. Firstly, the setting of the story is in the picturesque village of Cabot Cove, Maine, which is adored by many viewers of both the TV and book series. Jessica Fletcher has a lot on her plate this time around, what with her work at the senior center, her long-growing list of house guest for Thanksgiving (Scotland Yard Inspector George Sutherland being one of the many arrivals), and the frustrations of meeting a tight deadline for her new book.
There is also the issue of a stranger in town. Jessica and a horde of other Cabot Covers have noticed him skulking around town in recent weeks. Jessica has seen him staring in the direction of her house. Others have observed his peculiarity at Mara's luncheonette by the dock. Who is he? What does he want? Soon Jessica adds an investigation to her to-do list, trying to decipher whom the mysterious man really is and what his intentions are in Cabot Cove.
Too, the issue of the mysterious mail being sent to Jessica's house is off-putting. Frightening, even. The results, however, are a dissapointment, considering that the author has used the solution once before in a prior book (1995's "Rum and Razors"). Regardless, the reader is pulled into a fast-paced mystery, turning the pages (or clicking a button on the Kindle), in a haste to connect the dots with Jessica. Is it a fan? A stalker? As avid readers of the book series know, the Down East mystery writer will get to the bottom of things, even if it means putting her own life on the line.
To further complicate the situation, Jessica encounters a few strange birds who have recently moved to the small town and are living down the road from her on Candlewood Lane. What secrets do they harbor?
As the holiday arrives in Cabot Cove, so does the inevitable act of murder. Aside from the mystery, the story carries with it an air of suspense. At one point, Jessica arrives home from her various errands around town, only to be greeted with an unlocked front door, which she finds quite surprising, if not downright scary. That night, she hears noises and footsteps traipsing somewhere upstairs. Or is it just her wild writer's mind at work again?
The atmosphere of this book feels like an early eighties episode of the TV series, excluding Jessica at the helm of Jed Richardson's Cessna and the visit of Scotland Yard Inspector George Sutherland. Jessica never learned how to drive a car, let alone pilot a Cessna. The storyline seems to work, albeit awkward at times seeing Jessica behind the wheel. However, including the character of George Sutherland only adds a sense of warmth to the already cozy story.
Donald and Renee Bain write with charm, adding colorful Cabot Cove characters and the hominess of Down East.
