『I have a Panasonic DMC-ZS3/TZ7 and wanted to get a low light capable compact camera to take picture of my 6-month old. So my choices before the TX1 was DMC-LX3, with F2.0 capability. But after playing with DMC-LX3 for a few minutes, I knew it wasn't for me, since you have to manually set adjustments to get the best result.

Then I saw Sony coming out with two new cameras with EXMOR-R sensor, which is specifically designed for low light, hand-held, high iso picture taking. It sounded very interesting, but since there are no cameras with this sensor yet, (only camcorders), I decided to give it a try.

Once I received the camera, I immediately tried the hand-held twilight mode. It worked better than I expected! It can take 6 consecutive pictures at once, and stack them together to get a high detailed picture, without showing the usual grainy high iso result. I even compared with my DMC-ZS3, and the TX1 is definitely a lot better in low light picture. No more using tripod, just hand-held and shoot.

The other feature that I love is the Panorama mode, it has two settings, Standard or Wide, depend on how much you want to capture. It's very easy to operate, and there is no more taking multiple pictures, then download to your computer to stitch them together! You can see the result instantly!

Other features worth mention is the 10FPS mode, DRO (Dynamic Range Optimizer) mode which shows better shadow and highlights, and the paint mode (add frames, and write text on pictures). Date Stamp is done with the PMB software.

HD video quality is actually better than the DMC-ZS3 AVCHD-lite. Although the sound is MONO compared to ZS3's Stereo, but the video quality and easy to work with editing software make up the difference! You can also zoom in/out during video capturing, and it does not record the zooming sound.

The only thing that it can not compare to the DMC-ZS3 is the outdoor pictures. It does not have the sharpness, but it's more than enough to display on monitor, and print on photo papers.

Overall I am very satisfied, and would recommend this to anyone looking for ultra-compact point&shoot camera.

『I usually love Sony products, but I'm no fan of their new TX1. When I first saw this new camera, I thought this could me my next love, but we had a very short honeymoon - about 3 hours - then the ugly separation ensued!

I'll be brief and to the point - the video was pretty good, but the pictures were actually horrible. Instead of there being reduced noise as promised in news and reviews, there seems to be more (see my other reviews for most of the other cameras I've tired), even in bright light. I'm pretty tech savvy and went through ALL of the setting, trying everything possible to get good consistent pictures, but to no avail! We set the camera to various ISO settings to try and minimize the noise, but no good. It just is not good for viewing on the big screen, it most likely be OK for 4 by 6 printing but I did not try to print my samples. I have a media computer hooked up to my HDTV and the pictures just look terrible!

I mentioned above that the video was good and this is true - and I knew this going in - but why did Sony remove the stereo recording? If the pictures and other features where good, the lack of stereo would have been OK, but WOW what a disappointment all around.

This is just my opinion! I wish these camera makers would actually improve with subsequent models - I just don't get it! Sorry Sony. Oh and one more thing, don't tell me to just get a DSLR or it's just a P&S - I know that already! I just want the cameras to live up to their billing! By the way, I have the Panasonic ZS3 and it BLOWS the Sony away.』

(Slightly better at low light but terrible with good light)
『As an owner of a smattering of point and shoot cameras and high end DSLR's, I can be more picky than most about cameras.

I own an old 6MP Sony T9 slim camera from 4 years or so back and this looked like a promising upgrade for a slim pocketable camera. HD MP4 video, 4x zoom, almost twice the MP, touch screen and this new touted Exmor R sensor.

The T9 isn't a great camera, in fact it's one of the worst at image quality of all of my cameras, and it's memory stick duo format is constantly a hassle.

Unfortunately this new TX1 still uses Memory Stick Duo, and is somehow just as bad in terms of image quality as the old T9. It's better in low light but still very grainy, however it's worse in good bright light. Set manually to the lowest ISO (125) and placed on a tripod, the T9 produces shots with more detail and dynamic range while the TX1 has a grainy soft and blown highlight look to everything. This is with the best possible conditions, and in my opinion the shots from this camera are completely unacceptable. That means it only gets worse from there. Handheld shots in the automatic modes have much more noise and grain in them, even in full daylight. Trees in the distance look like water paintings. Neither camera is good with contrasty scenes, but all I want out of a small pocket camera is acceptable images to resize and post on facebook and so on.

The TX1 will do, but for the price the quality is terrible. Cut the price in half and I might think about keeping it but this is all about style over design.

It does have some neat features like a high speed burst mode, an anti shake mode that takes multiple exposures and combines and aligns in camera, face detection and so on. It also has one of the best touchscreen interfaces I've used on a camera, it's not in the way and it's easy and quick to use. Just double tapping on where you want the camera to focus is very nice as well. The zoom slider is probably the worst physical part on this camera, not very sensitive, and then when you finally get it to zoom, it shoots quickly from the wide end to the telephoto end which means you are always overzooming and having to back off, which is frustrating when all you want is to frame the image.


If this is going to be your only small camera I would choose something else probably from Canon or Panasonic, it will be a slightly larger camera but the jump in quality will be very noticeable.

I'm going to return it and keep the T9 for the pocket slim camera that I don't care about, and use the SD870is and LX-3 as my other smaller cameras. Unless the price on this really drops, or you just have to have this for the style and don't care about camera-phone quality pictures from a dedicated camera I would stay away from this model.』

『O.k. for starters we have two leader class figures, three voyager class figures and three deluxe figures. We love the movie and so far had a great time getting some of the toys.

My wife was really pumped to get ironhide as he was her favorite transformer. But to her dismay the excitement died as she opened the box. For starters this is the shoddiest paintjob so far. Its just black and gray! On the box are lines of yellow and silver, I find this to be a big ripoff.

Secondly the worst part that will make me hesitant to buy anymore save the leader class figures, is how poorly this toy transforms. This guy is even worse than Skids since skids stays together! His middle wont connect properly and takes quite a bit of force to get halfway right and the top hole is too small to connect fully! Just terrible! His missle launchers wont stay on and now either a piece has fallen off, or maybe we missed it in the transformation but this guy has a giant hole in his neck! Too many smokes maybe? I picked him up and sideways and I loved how easy sideways was to connect. But now Im sore and dissapointed with Ironhide. Hopefully the next couple figures we get won't be this bad. One bad apple in the bunch.』

(Ironhide revisited)
『First off, Ironhide got a great toy from Transformers The Movie (TFTM). It was at that time very accurate to the concept art, but differed slightly from the final CGI model appearing on the film.

This new Ironhide toy tries to correct this by giving him two improvements:
1. New headsculpt. Now it's the movie-accurate head, which means that it has a big "battle scar" deformation on his right eye and the crest.
2. The new arm guns, which do a better job at ressembling the movie counterparts.

Because I've got the old and the new toys, I'll compare both in this review.

Pros:
- Accurate head sculpt.
- Better looking guns. But they're not exact reproductions. The right rotating cannon is too big, and the left "sliding" cannon is too small.
- This can be both a pro or con: The pickup's top (which comprises the windshield, top and rear window) is made to be detached. This is a pro, because in robot mode it just eliminates a lot of kibble from Ironhide's back...
- Good size. It fits well with the Deluxe sized cars and is roughly in the same scale as the Leader class toys (which should be bigger than Ironhide).

Cons:
- Cannons aren't accurately sized and they don't mount on the arms when in alt mode(pick-up truck).
- Removeable windshield-roof piece means that it can get lost, and this is a central part of the truck mode.
- Chest piece didn't get the "accurizing" to the movie model, but continues to be based on the first concept designs.
- As with all the toys from the movie, there's close to ZERO paint applications in robot mode. This is aggravated by the chosing of gray plastic/paint for the pick-up truck mode... so you get some grey pieces and black pieces mixed, when Ironhide is BLACK in the movie!
- Softer plastic. The hip thing with two pegs bends a little when pressed, which difficults a lot it's transformation from truck to robot mode. There's been a lot of complaining about this, and this did not happen with the old mold. I blame the plastic. The only way around it is pressing very hard down on the "chest cavity" below the head. The plastic is flexible and will stand it.
- Automorph gimmick. I do like them, but the automorph and mechalive gimmicks also make the toys more delicate and less accurate (because you have to accomodate the gears and pieces, but also because Hasbro's spending money to make these molds and pieces instead of giving us better articulation or paint).

Overall, this is a nice toy with a very poor color scheme. Ironhide's character doesn't play as much a central role in TF:ROTF as in the previous movie, so it will appeal less to some children who may prefer... the twins, for example (who I despise). This may have been a deliberate move by Hasbro to promote the sale of the new molds and recover their investment, and I bet it'll work.

Transformation can be a bit frustrating due to the force that must be applied to the hip piece and the feet automorph function is VERY prone to break or damage (especially the gears), reducing durability. I'd say children 7 years or older will enjoy this more.』

『Sadly I was unable to get the first movie Ironhide, so this guy is my first (Ironhide that is...) as such his whole transformation sequence and everything is new to me (which I like to think, rather egotistically makes me better at deciding the quality of the transformation XD) (I like emoticons just FYI...sorry if that bugs you...)
ANYWAY
really like the transformation. Like a lot of the movie ones (I'm drawing on experience from movie 1 Jazz, Blackout, and Brawl, as well as the new Bumblebee) he has a lot of nicely independant transformation areas (meaning you can transform him like in the movie, like he's driving along and doing it or running as a robot and flipping into a truck) which for geeks like me who still play with our toys (gasp! play with toys?!?!?!) its an added plus
the cannons are kind of in the middle there though. the bigger one is nice in the whole gattling spin out/spin in motion it can do, but the other one (which slides based on gravity) is kinda...tacked on
I'll give you that it's there in the movie, i just wish they'd been more clever with how it moved
only one automorph sequence for this guy (two technically, one on each leg) so a lot of him is the old fashioned flipping of panels and twisting around torsos (which in the case of Ironhide is rather difficult, as his whole torso rotates on an itty bitty plastic plate that fits almost 100% flush together)
the automorph itself can take a little getting used to (I'm still a newbie to their whole automorph sequence of stuff...tho it seems to be located primarily in the head and legs for some reason...o.O) because it basicly rotates his wheel to his calf, slides the plate covering his shin to the inseam of his leg, and flips down both front and back for his feet, all by pulling (GENTLY!!!) on one of the aformentioned pieces (ok maybe not the wheel, but any of the other three)
the cannons are kibbley, as they serve no purpose whatsoever in vehicle mode (seriously, they like, balance, on top of his pickup bed)
poseablity (and playability) is awesome, as he has lots of joints and such and he stays together well in either mode. Truck mode is a little more stable, as in robot mode his waist is a little flimsy due to the nature of the pin (it goes in at an angle) but if it comes out the weight of his torso can easily reattach it (seriously mr. I-give-him-a-two just let his chest rest on his hips, the peg will find its own hole) everything has plenty of space to move too, a nice bonus in comparison to say...bumblebee (who sadly works better in voyager size...if only he was that big in the movie...)another bonus of his size is that transforming him, and sliding all the little panels around is a HECK of a lot easier than others, cause the smallest panels on him are still bigger than the biggest panels on deluxe figures (again sadly, bumblebee and brawl (Devastator?) leap to mind)
overall, definately worth 23 bucks or so, as he is big, bad, and likes flowers and winking at women he scares by rocket jumping over them (kudos to any fandos who get that joke)

『When I landed the first movie's Ironhide two years ago, I was speechless. I found that the figure had two very solid modes while being pretty screen acurate at the same time. Now, with the new movie line, there has been some marked improvements in terms of presentation, durability, and overall fun factor. While the "new" Ironhide still has the same transformation(they kept the same formula 'cause it worked so well) there are some differences to his overall appearance. First, his paint applicant is spot-on which accents the curious choice of gray plastic in robot/vehicle mode. The door panels have have an autobot/sector 7/human alliance insignia that resembles a certain U.S. crest. The sculpt itself is pretty much the same aside from a few changes. The new head-sculpt is an improvement with more detail to the face. Also, his cannons are more detailed with a pretty cool mech-alive feature which includes the right cannon rotating and extending to fire the missle. Thus being very evocative of his movie counterpart. His transformation is fairly simple which most people should get in less than 15 min. However, the majority of the Transformers ROTF figures have ball&socket joints that do tend to pop off during trasformation but can just as easily be reconnected. "Hasblow" decided to do this for those who ocasionally get too stressed and rough trying to transform the toy. Rather than a piece breaking off, they simply pop off causing no damage except for ones pride. Overall, I highly recommend this Voyager Class Ironhide.』

With MEGATRON defeated, and the DECEPTICONS on the run everywhere, its high time the AUTOBOTS went on the offensive. Working alongside the humans to hunt and destroy DECEPTICON hideouts around the world is the most fun he's had in ages.』

『My mistake, I ordered a tape instead of a CD. I tried it in the only old tape player I had and it destroyed the tape. I still do not have a CD and am now out the cost of the tape and shipping.』

(A disappointment)
『I was going by memory of faint music I had heard in a museum when I ordered the sound track of The Last of the Mohicans. It turned out to be a disappointment. The sound track uses electronic music instead of an orchestra, and so the music sounds artificial to me. I am a big fan of original score sound tracks, but they usually use orchestral instruments, which sound much better.』

『The crescendos in this soundtrack are stunning and epic. The movement of stirring feminine and masculine overtures, that parallel the uncivilized warriors and genteel English women (two sisters), play off each other, like wild creatures roaming freely in the pristine wilderness of old. Bear in mind, in James Fenimore Cooper's day, the wild country was so beautiful: that pioneers, explorers, and natives would stand for hours and gaze into the majestic beauty of the untamed, untouched, unfettered calm of nature itself (a Garden of Eden, so to speak).

Captured brilliantly by the composers of this soundtrack. The sweep, grandeur, epic pitch of battle, slaughter through treachery, escape, torture, heroism: captured and encased by some of the finest motion picture overture music (ever composed); on the level of Hans Zimmer and Miklos Rozsa. Each theme, each scene, emboldened by the music; so that, by Act III, we are family to the heroes and heroines (two of whom die shortly, thereafter). Catharsis merged with the orchestration of sacrifice, death, and renewal of purpose.

There is no subdued passion in this score. You hit the ground running, like a puma, and you stay in quick stride until our two remaining warriors and our one English woman (now wild, like them) stand atop a mountain majestic and star into a valley, still preserved to this day. Proud to say my buddy, Russell Means, played his role as the warrior father with his own superb investment of character and honor. Thought this remarkable film was Best Picture that year, hands down.』

『I ordered this DVD version of MMT to replace an older VHS, but I'm glad that I didn't toss the tape. This DVD picture is terrible and sound is just about as bad. It looks and sounds like a cheap pirated copy. Wait for Apple to put this out someday or get the MPI tape.』

『Have to agree with all the other comments about pirated copy. Good to have for historical value, but this is a washed out, low quality bootleg. The cover artwork is one step above old style computer pixelation and the label for the DVD is obviously semi-homemade.

Unfortunately this is the only way to get this film (for the moment) as the general consensus regarding MMT is that it is a substandard product from the Beatles.

Of course with the benefit of hindsight, its experimentation and sheer weirdness redeems it somewhat, I doubt we'll see any major remastering of this for some time. Buy this only if you're having a Magical Mystery Tour Ultra Fan Party and need a main attraction.』

The workout includes six sections&finishes with a dance that involves many of the learned moves. (Luscious - Bellydance Workout; for Beginner? NOT!)
『This is another great DVD from WDNY However, I would not recommend it for any Beginner Student, as I think it is more for someone at Intermediate or Advance level. One the positive side -- I love the dance movements, the way the movements are grouped, the costumes, lighting, etc.

But on the negative side, the directions (left and right) threw me off. I guess I am used to "mirroring" the dance instructor -- whether on a DVD or at a dance workshop; without using an actual mirror. When I teach my dance classes, I use a mirror -- so when I call out left or right, it is actually left or right.

Another thing that irritated me on this DVD (and many others) is having any type of "Welcome" speech. Welcome speeches and Introductions should be placed on the video, as an optional chapter feature. You only need to hear it just ONE time! I time my workouts and it is irritating to have to fast forward through the Welcome or Introduction each time I use a DVD. The welcome/introductions are so inconvenient. I find myself shouting at the TV, just shut up and get to the dancing!!!

I teach beginner students, but won't recommend this one to them (yet); but will recommend it to my more advanced or intermediate students.』

I don't like how they remade alot of the characters and the original will always by far be the best because Rankin/Bass were and are cutting edge in my mind.』

(Pale shadow of the stop motion version)
『This version of The Life and adventures of Santa Claus is a pale, saccharine sweet sham when compared to the supurbly done stop motion animation of the 1985 version of this same story done by Rankin / Bass. This felt cheesy and half-hearted whereas the stop motion animated one has the distinct feel of a classic and was more true to the heart and feel of the old story by L. Frank Baum.

The story is good but it feels dumbed down compared to the stop motion version. A seldom known fact, Baum connected this story to his loved The Wizard of Oz by saying the immortal faeries of this story are the ones who enchanted the land of Oz to begin with.

『Disney could have done a great job with this adaptation of a Chinese folk tale. But unfortunately, they just had to ruin it with some comedy. Now, I'm not saying that this automatically makes the film a complete failure. The animation is top-notch, with some beautiful scenery and a powerful action sequence. The drama really adds to the tension in some scenes. The music from Jerry Goldsmith is also a treat. But what really makes this a mediocre Disney film is the unnecessary comedy. Disney could have made this one of its more outstanding animated films, if it weren't for all that humor. Instead of it being a serious epic like Princess Mononoke, Mulan is more of an uneven display of drama and slapstick. All of this funny stuff is very out of place for such a powerful folk tale. Couldn't they have taken Mushu more seriously? Plus, the songs are very forgettable. "A Girl Worth Fighting For" and "I'll Make a Man Out of You" aren't in the same level as "Be Our Guest" and "I Just Can't Wait to be King." There are no memorable melodies and no decent lyrics, though "Reflection" is a slightly up there.

So Mulan is basically a mixed bag. The stunning animation and the apparent drama are what's good about it. The unnecessary comedy and underwhelming songs are what's bad about it. It's too bad, really. This project had some big potential, but they just had to turn it into an adequate animated film.

『I enjoy watching Mulan 1&2. The majority of Disney films, the main female characters are princesses in distress. Like Snow White bites the apple and sleeps, then the prince saves her. The Little Mermaid, Sleepy Beauty . . . Unfortunate, Disney and other film companies should promote more females as the main protagonist (HERO) in nonfiction or fiction movies like Mulan, who saves China not only once but twice with help of her friends. Kids these days would feel inspired than limited to the stereotype role. Overall, Mulan is good family film to add in your collection of movies. A must.』

『Upon its release, "Mulan" was seen as an improvement over the relatively-forgettable "Hercules". And rightly so. That said, it falls short in comparison to the earlier Disney films of the decade. The songs are subpar, the animation lacks the elegance of "Beauty and the Beast"&"The Little Mermaid", and the characters are anything but memorable. I applaud Disney for the story (yes, I know it's based on a Chinese legend), but that's about it. Thankfully, Disney resumed to top-notch animation a year later with "Tarzan". "Mulan", on the other hand, belongs more to the films they released in the 2000s: they're enjoyable but lack the oh-so-famous magic of their real classics.

She goes to boot camp, learning to fit in with the other soldiers with some help from her sidekick, Mushu, a wise-cracking dragon (voiced by Eddie Murphy). She trains, and soon faces the Huns eye-to-eye to protect her Emperor.

The film is gorgeous to look at, with a superior blend of classic and computer-generated animation. Directors Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook make the best of it: a battle in the snowy mountains is as thrilling as the best Hollywood action films. The menacing Huns are not cute but simple and bad. The wickedness is subtle, not disturbing. The film is not a full-fledged musical, as it has only five songs (the best, "Be a Man," is sung during boot camp). Eddie Murphy is an inspired choice for the comic-relief dragon, but his lines are not as clever as Robin Williams's inAladdin. These are minor quibbles, though. The story is strong, and Mulan goes right to the top of Disney animated heroines; she has the right stuff.--Doug Thomas』

『I bought this wall border because we live in an apartment and aren't able to put a more permanent wallpaper on the walls. It looks nice, once you get it put up (difficult to do with one person). I started putting the wall border up just as instructed by the directions, and every time I would have to move my chair to reach further along the wall it would start peeling off so my husband helped me buy holding it while I moved my chair. This worked at first, but after about 5 minutes of being up the wall border started coming off! I used three different rolls and every single one of them peeled off the wall on their own. I had even went around after putting it up and used the closed blades of scissors to press out all of the air bubbles. I spent about $45 altogether and it was money in the trash. If you have walls that have a slight texture to them this wall border will not stay, so please don't waste your money like I did.』

『As other reviewer's have noted, Keeper of the Flame is an unusual, off-beat paring of MGMs new star couple. Only their second flm together, following close on the heals of the release of Woman of the Year, Keeper also presents itself as a message picture at a time when America had just entered the Second World War.

But this is exactly why I like Keeper so much. It IS an unusual story. It is NOT like other Tracy-Hepburn outings. And under the direction of close friend George Cukor, who does a fantastic job in steering this mysterious, dark film to a surprising conclusion, Keeper delivers much more than one would expect.

Well worth the time invested to watch it. By no means a romantic film! Tracy and Hepburn are all business, and nary a spark of love between them; yet they still sizzle. Now, if only Warners would see fit to release it on DVD.』

He desperately wants to interview Forrest's widow Christine (Katharine Hepburn) but finds resistance and downright hostility at every turn. What of the close "friendship" between Christine and her cousin Geoff (Forrest Tucker)? Or Robert's "crazy" mother (Margaret Wycherly) who seems quite lucid when O'Malley secretly arranges a visit with her? And what are the true motives driving Forrest's sycophantic secretary (Richard Whorf)?

Director George Cukor extracts his usual stellar performances from Hepburn and Tracy in this stirring, timely political thriller, which was based on the novel by I.A.R. Wylie. Audiences must have been stunned by the material, especially because it followed hot on the heels of the pair's first outing ("Woman of the Year") released earlier that same year. Many people have pointed out the similarities between this movie and "Citizen Kane", although it should be noted that the book for KEEPER OF THE FLAME was written first. Despite this however, I believe that the physical look of KEEPER was at least partially inspired by "Citizen Kane".

The ending does seem a bit rushed, and some wonderful characters (like Audrey Christie's wisecracking reporter) sadly fall by the wayside, but it's still a very fine film.

If you have a multi region DVD player, you should seek out the UK version of the Hepburn&Tracy Signature Collection boxset which features this title along with "Adam's Rib", "Woman of the Year" and "Pat and Mike".』

『This film started well - I'm a big Spencer Tracy fan, and he's as good as ever in this noirish mystery. But it quickly gets convoluted and dull. The whole thing is like a Victorian gaslight melodrama, and about that interesting, with everything revealed in the last reel. Hepburn is stagey and doesn't get to use her fine comedy talents in a one dimensional role. The ending, the big secret, is signposted throughout the movie, but it will still come as a surprise, since you will have convinced yourself that it is too preposterous to be what you thought it was. Like I say, Tracey is good, but not even he can save this turkey.』

(The best Tracy-Hepburn?)
『I think it is, even with the stiff competition it gets from some of their other eight films. It begins with the death of a World War I hero in an automobile accident. Hepburn is the man's widow, and Tracy is the reporter who covers the story. Gradually he learns that the dead "hero" was not universally admired---and then he starts to suspect that the car crash may not have been an accident.

Along the way he gets some intriguing information from a taxi driver played by Percy Kilbride---not doing his Pa Kettle shtick, but dispensing homespun common sense and independence of thought.

There are many blind alleys that add to the atmosphere of menace, and the final revelation is stunning, but all too believable.

The only flaw is the final scene, in which everything seems to be happening at once, as though director George Cukor discovered that he was running out of film and had to wrap up the production in a hurry.

But the glorious final montage ties it all together for a dramatic, convincing and satisfying conclusion.』

『Very different from other Tracy/Hepburn films, both in style and substance. I have viewed this multiple times and thoroughly enjoy it. Strong political theme has kept this from being one of the top films of the era.』

『I love the original Star Wars trilogy. It represented everything great about movies that was possible. These prequals made me sick. Beyond annoying characters such as the cheezy battle droids running around saying dumb phrases like"roger,roger,",Jar Jar Binx and the gungans(No explanation needed),Hadyn Christiansen who is worse than a horrible actor, and scripts and an atmosphere that made you feel like you were not watching a Star Wars movie. And to top it off the second movie is about as bad as any chick flick out there. How could they possibly sink this low with a love story this poorly done with worse than high school acting. A Star Wars chick flick? YUCK! Nothing new or revolutionary came from these movies. What good things people had to say about the special effects looked like a video game. Especially the ship battles. The original Star Wars film in 1977 looks a million times more realistic and is timeless. I really hate these movies because I love Star Wars and these are not even close to being Star Wars movies!』

『All three 'Star Wars' prequel films are great: 'Revenge of the Sith' being the best in the trilogy. They are not as great as the original 'Star Wars' movies released in theaters decades ago, but each film is good enough to keep you very entertained and enterested in seeing what happened before Luke Skywalker began his adventure of becoming a jedi knight. The plot in the 'Star Wars' prequel trilogy is well written and easy to follow. It is very interesting to see events that pave the way to what is seen in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy. The special fx are visually empressive and the sound fx are excellent! The futuristic style/sci-fi battle scenes are stunning: thanks to the top of the line cgi and sound that were used to make each movie come to life. John Williams conducted an outstanding musical (score) for the 'Star Wars' prequel trilogy. It sounds just as good as the music in the original 'Star Wars' movies. The acting isn't the best I've seen, but stellar at best. Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, and Christopher Lee's performances shine the best throughout the trilogy (in my opinion). A lot of action, suspense, and dramatic sequences really enhance each of these well done films. If you don't already own the 'Star Wars' prequel trilogy then I recommend this box set. Each DVD offers outstanding quality and have interesting special features. Don't forget to purchase the original 'Star Wars' trilogy on DVD either.』

(Shrek with lightsabers?)
『These movies are terrible. Yoda looks like a short Shrek with a light saber. They made these movies with 3 actors and everything else is CGI. I was waiting for Woody and Buzz Lightyear to pop out. The story on the first two were completely useless, you could have told that entire story in 1 movie. The 3rd one was slightly better because it actually tells the story everyone wanted to see, how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, and you get to see Darth Vader for 1 whole minute. The first movie you get to see some kid accidentally saving a planet, and in the second a whining teenager rolling in the hills with Padme. These movies established 2 things, Jar-jar sucked, and Anakin is that kid in high school everyone makes fun of.』

(Chanced encounter with the Sword of Truth)
『I chanced upon the first episode of the first season thanks to late night channel surfing and insomnia, and right off the bat, I was HOOKED! I googled the show and came across the website for the show ([...]). Needless to say, I watched all the episodes in the first season within a span of 2 days! Having been a fan of Hercules and Xena the Warrior Princess (same team that brings you Legend of the Seeker), I am now an avid fan of this new series.

The episodes get better and better as the season wore on. The plots and twists really keep you glued to this series. I have not read the books, so I can't compare them, but the TV series is really awesome! I have just ordered the DVD for the first season and can't wait for it to arrive so that I can 're-live' the adventures again!

『This movie is incredibly boring, content-less and primitive. I bought blu ray edition based on 990+ mostly positive reviews on Amazon. Now I am puzzled - how could this movie ever get 5 stars? The only explanation I have it was kind of cool in 1969 and people who watched it back then are nostalgic. Nowadays I do not find it's cool to watch black screen for 5 minutes wondering if my disk/player/projector are OK. That is right - movie has black scenes with nothing for minutes (kudos to "Black Square" Malevich?), accompanied by a most terrible psychedelic music (?) ever. I really had to mute and fast forward it quite a bit. On the other hand movie is somewhat OK if you want to fall asleep, which I did twice (here comes one star from me). Few bright moments of light/action/dialog in the universe of boredom barely occupy a few minutes of footage continued by hours of rotating still images and annoying Windows Media Player type of visual kaleidoscope. You would see all kind of nonsense: Pan-Am waitresses doing a lot of baby steps in circles; pen flying for minutes; annoying "monkeys" jumping and crying for half an hour; repetitive scenes of "space ships" flying up close (one hour?); somebody breathing heavily for 10 minutes into microphone, twice; eating miserable colored humus-like space food for 5 minutes; etc. Sparse dialogs are not nearly as deep as some suggested and reminded me naive baby talks: "[Mummy], please, I will never do it again, I promise", "Hal, do you hear me? Please answer me, please.. (repeated 5-10 times)", "I can not talk about it right now", ... I guess if this extreeeeeeemely long chewing gum is compressed into 10 minutes cartoon for kids if would become average. Otherwise, total waste of my money-time continuum.

『I ordered this kit since July 2nd, it is now July 13th , my daugter's birthday and I have yet to recieve my order. I had planned a Hello kitty Themed birthday party for her and now I have to wait until this comes(if it ever does) to throw the party. Her birthday is July 13th (TODAY) and I have yet to see my order. I have tried contacting the seller to no avail! I am seriously disturbed and disappointed; This was supposed to be part of my child's birthday.

『These chips did have a terrific bite but still a bit on the greasy side but that's what Kettle chips are. My all time favorite is the Lays salt/vinegar but no longer in the stores where I reside and the company on amazon that sells them only has the 1.5oz (too small) and by the time you pay shipping...not worth it. Overall the Madhouse Munchies not bad and the 5oz size is quite lg. There was a promotional special when I ordered so got the case at a great price on Amazon.』

Light, non-oily, crispy with a balanced salt content, and perfect taste bud tang, Madhouse Munchies are highly recommended for those with a salt-and-vinegar fondness. This snack is made from select North American potatoes and is quite tasty, the way human nature intended.

The only possible downside to this delight is the ingredient LACTOSE, which affects those allergic to milk. Perhaps the company may consider an alternative version of these chips to satisfy a greater population.

However, as they say, "because we cook with healthier oil [non-hydrogenated canola], chips are cholesterol free, 0g trans fat p/s, and has no MSG, preservatives, or artificial colors.

I have a fridge in the garage and I keep apples, diet soda and frozen one person meals there, along with a case of 24 of the vinegar munchies on top. On the way to the car I grab one of each and lunch is taken care of - and something to look forward to.』
『In 1996 I left the financial markets and set out for the clear skies and wide-open spaces of Vermont to pursue my vision of the perfect potato chip. Four years later, I have never looked back and have never eaten better! (Customer support is nearly non-existant)
『I received this drive for Christmas. I'm a mac user, and got the windows version, but all over the box it SCREAMS mac compatible, as long as you don't want to use the software. I didn't, I just wanted to back up my hard-drive. Unfortunately, the drive isn't recognized on ANY computer I've tried. Granted, they're all macs, but out of 4 computers. . . so I filed a case with Seagate. Despite an email telling me I should have a response with them within 24 hours, 2 weeks later I contacted customer service. Their hours are not convenient. . . and after 10 min on hold on the phone I decided to chat. That was another wait, but an agent still was available before anyone answered the phone. I'd seen on their website that the problem might have to do with needing a y cable (ok, I'd tried it on desktops too and it hadn't worked, but I was hoping) and the page says to contact customer support about this. Their answer was "go buy one". So I ordered one from amazon, and when it came the drive STILL doesn't work. Another wait for email, another 30 min on hold, and the chat agent tells me to contact customer support to return the device. Oh, and I get to pay shipping! I may just write off the money Ive spent and buy a competitor, instead.』

(Fast, Ultra Portable, and Reliable)
『I've had this hard drive for about 6 months now. It doesn't require a separate power source, but uses two usb ports. It is ultra slim, easy to take with you, and operates very quietly.

I use it two or three times a week and haven't had any issues so far. Still, I would be weary of purchasing from SeaGate. Many of my friends have had issues with their hard drives (although not this model specifically).』

(Disappointed by "hidden" cost)
『I bought a Seagate based on past reputaion. The operating software was on the disk itself which installed via the USB connection. When the software agreement came up it informed me I had just installed "freeware" good for one use only. If I wanted to use it more than once I had to fork over another $39.95. I found their approach blatantly decptive and disrespectful of their customers. I'm sure that some customers in a hurry will cough up the hidden cost. I decided to live with the inconvenience this caused and returned the product.

The replacement I bought from a competitor worked right out of the box. Couriously it acts just like a thumb drive and doesn't need operating software. It raised a question regarding whether the $39.95 software was essential to use the Seagate product or whether it was an add on with some other functionality. If so, in my mind they are still guilty by not making that distinction clear. Needless to say Seagate has lost my trust』

『works with XP OK, but behave strange with vista. Basically, I use it for automatic backup. When I use it with XP, it automatically creates backs up everything, the same size of folders. With vista, the back-uped folder size is different even though the content might be the same. It also reverse backs up things, which is very annoying. but still better than nothing.』

May the Force Be With You
Whether your child is a fan of the new Clone Wars animated film or the original trilogy, this light saber, with its light up blade and electronic sounds, is sure to be a hit. Its sturdy plastic components in gray, black, and gold, three colored crystals, and telescoping blade can be combined in over 1000 different ways to create a customized battle weapon. And since part of the fun is in thinking up ways to combine the pieces into a customized weapon, there's no time-consuming adult setup.

You'll need a Philips head screwdriver to insert three AA batteries (not included), and you may want to help young users put the color crystals in the first time around, so they know how to change them later on.

Imaginative Play that Spans Distant Galaxies
One of this light saber's top features is the way it emits different sounds along with a different color light inside the clear plastic blade depending on what Ilum crystal or crystals are inserted in the handle. Choose the classic Jedi green, blue, Sith red, or combine crystals to achieve an effect like the violet light saber Mace Windu uses. Star Wars fans will immediately recognize the powerful humming noise that indicates a light saber ready for combat. And the variety of clashing sounds that the unit makes when the blade comes in contact with any sturdy obstruction is sure to thrill.

Overall, we had loads of fun creating a custom look, practicing crafty moves, and fighting off imaginary enemies with this light saber. Since the colored blade effect is achieved by projecting light into the clear plastic blade, playing with this light saber in a dark or dimly lit room provides extra drama and an increased dose of fun.

Because this toy calls forth an epic battle between good and evil, we imagine that having a playmate with a second light saber would increase the fun exponentially.

『I received the Maxx Digital Explorer I GPS for Christmas and trust my brother to give me something that should be tossed in the trash. What does it do? You turn it on and it stays frozen on the first screen. I have not gotten any service out of it. You would get better directions with a compass. I am reasonably sure this is a glitch that is happening to a lot of people out there and they are biting their tongue thinking they aren't using it right. Don't buy anything with the Maxx Brand name on it. You will be sorry.』

It gives voice warnings for turns ahead of time, and again just before the turn. You don't have to be under 30, or a geek, to use it. My wife is getting this one for Christmas.』

In three different tries in suburban No. Virginia, the unit managed to acquire satellite after 25 minutes, 7 minutes, and 5 minutes. 『Cute colouring book for CARS fan -- it re-tells the plot of the movie in simple, short sentences, and the pictures are relatively clear and simple to colour.

The only thing that bothered me about the book was the legal disclaimer that runs in the margin of *every* page, about how this particular car is a licensed product of blah-blah-blah, and this car is owned by blah-blah-blah. I understand why they need to be clear about licensing and ownership, but couldn't they have put this on the title page and be done with it?』

『His achievements are phenomenal and are an inspiration to all indie film makers NO QUESTIONS about that but guys we all know his story.

The reviews forced me to purchase a new copy though my gut feeling, after reading a few pages on the Amazon, said this will be it in his book--but I made the mistake of buying it.

He doest give enough tips about film making all he says is his brief experiences before and during the making of E.M and elaborate details while selling and promoting his film.

This book has 285 pages of which 75 pages are his screenplay for El Mariachi which can be downloaded for free online.
The 10 minute Film School part consists of 14 pages---this can be seen on You Tube or his DVD of E.M.
Better still to buy his DVD rather than this book.

Guys if you are an indie film maker do not buy this book at all, Mr.RR could have at least reduced the price of this book by half.

If anyone is interested in collaborating for a film venture, please let me know I am a well read and an informed guy.』

We discuss screenplays and documentaries we'd like to do as well as movies and shows we should see during the week.』

『Being that I am not an avid reader, I cannot say that I have read too many memoirs in my lifetime. In fact, Robert Rodriguez's Rebel Without a Crew is the first memoir to have graced my eyes. Fortunately, I found Rodriguez's novel to be a rather enjoyable read.

The novel follows Rodriguez's journey on how he was able to make his first full-length feature movie and how he successfully became one of Hollywood's most popular filmmakers. More specifically, the first third of the book retells Robert's quest to make his film, El Mariachi under a budget of $8,000. To me, this was the most interesting part of the novel. This is because it shows the reader the day by day process in which Robert manages to film his movie with the limited amount of resources at his disposal. The remaining two-thirds of the novel recount Robert's interactions with Hollywood's representatives. I personally found this potion of the book to be more confusing that interesting. This is because of the overwhelming amount of names and sums of money that Robert is presented by various filming companies. In other words, the portion is less interesting because of how it revolves around the financial aspect of filmmaking rather than the creative side of filming.

One thing that I found unique about Rodriguez's memoir was his style of writing. For example, he writes exclusively in the first person, lacking any dialogue (with a few exceptions) from other characters in the novel. Because of this, there is unnoticeably any character development throughout the course of the novel. Robert's writing also lacks any extravagant details to describing the characters and locations he mentions. While most would consider this lack of character development, descriptive details and dialogue as a poor decision, I actually found that it helps support the novel's its first person narration. Without the detail, dialogue and development of characters Rodriguez is able to keep the focus of the novel strictly on him, exposing the reader to his perspective.

The overall message that Rodriguez's memoir promotes is that people should follow their goals and do what they love, ignoring whatever opposition that they meet. After reading this memoir, I myself was inspired to go out and make my own movies despite my lack of experience in the field. And despite the confusion I experienced while reading the majority of the novel, I still managed to enjoy reading the filmmaker's unique retelling of his winding road to fame. While the book might not be the greatest memoir ever written, it is still an inspiring tale that all people interested in film should read.
