Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Christmas Eggnog Moose Mugs - Set of 2) 『This is the same Moose Mug as seen in the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation movie, starring Chevy Chase. This is the acrylic version, which I chose over the glass one so I don't have to worry about chipping or breaking it with use, and it's lightweight to hold and drink from.
This is a very fine reproduction, and the acrylic looks just like glass. I'm totally happy with the mugs. They cost about $5 each more than the glass, but they look beautiful and they should be easier to care for than the glass model. I would not put them in the dishwasher but gently wash them by hand, to keep their crystal clear glass appearance.
These mugs are a great way to truly complete the festivity of the Christmas season. They are sure to bring a smile and a laugh to any Christmas gathering.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (beautiful artistic blanket) 『my mom got me this blanket as a gift, (i am 22) because i love the harry potter books series, and it is absolutely beautiful. the quality was surprising-- it is a lightweight blanket, which is perfect for texas nights. the graphic design is intricate and very detailed; it's almost as if you're looking at a photograph. i am very pleased with the quality of this blanket, and at such a great price!』
(Harry Potter Throw) 『The throw was made from a much thinner fabic than expected; no "plush" about it. So, the price was too high for the quality, but, it is Harry Potter after all.....』
(Not disappointed . . .) 『To start out: This blanket is a pretty great product.
I'm a sixteen year old and I didn't really buy it to USE it, per se. It's more of a "Look at me, I'm a huge nerd!" kind of thing.
There are only two real negatives about it:
1) IF YOU DID purchase this blanket to keep you warm, then you might want to look elsewhere. It's fleece, yes, but it's thin fleece, and it isn't going to make you REALLY warm and toasty.
2) The color is kind of . . . the reds are RED. Especially his lips, so it kind of looks like he's wearing some intense lipstick. Otherwise it looks pretty much exactly like the picture.
I paid ten bucks, so I'm pretty pleased :-)』
(Harry as a Wall Hanging) 『I used this as a hanging backdrop for my Harry Potter collection display. It hangs in front of a window so during the day it is backlit and at night the lights from the apartment outdoor lights also backlight it. It looks very good hanging up there and makes the display really pop.』 『Measures approximately 50" w x 60" h』

(very entertaining!!!!) 『My son loves Elmo!!!! and this collection is sooo cute! when your son likes Elmo that much is nice to have more than 1 DVD!!!』
(not educational, also boring!) 『I was disappointed to find out about this popular character made by Sesame Street is barely educational, not funny (even for an 18 month child, especially for a parent), and mostly just a way to waste 50 min of my kid's day. If that's all you need it for then go for it, but I think there's plenty of better stuff out there.
We rented the Sesame Street Old School volumes from Netflix. Those shows are from the early 1970s and the difference is huge! Those shows are both funny and educational. And to my surprise, faster paced! These Elmo shows have little visual charm as they are mostly cheap computer graphics. They go on and on about redundant topics, like eating bananas, for about 15 minutes. The old Sesame Street teaches much more valuable lessons quicker and more enjoyably than Elmo in these shows.
Oh, and the character Mr. Noodle is actually offensive to me. If you don't know he is the bumbling idiot adult whom the kids can tell what to do when he tries to, for example, put on a jacket.』
(Two year old loves Elmo) 『This was a great purchase. We first welcomed Elmo into our daughters life with Elmo's World "What makes you happy?" Dvd. My husband and I wanted to get our daughter a variety of other Elmo's World dvds, mainly because we had the first one memorized so we also needed something new. She absolutely loves Elmo. He is her favorite Sesame Street character. It keeps her entertained while I cook dinner. Every time we come home from daycare the first thing she says as we walk in the door is "Elmo!"

(Disappointed) 『When I decided to purchase the tapes it said "Instructional&Basic"; I only received Basic. Not sure what happened but I was expecting both. I hear the instructional basically tells you what to do or how to do it; luckily I've had this tape before and know how to perform the moves; I feel I got cheated as far as my product; but what I did received arrived in a timely manner』
(Wasn't shipped what I paid for) 『I purchased the Tae-Bo workout Instructional and Basic VHS tapes and only received one tape in the mail.』
(Good Workout...Bad Visuals) 『I bought this tape in an effort to build body strength and lose some pounds. It was a penny before shipping so I didn't think twice whether to buy it or not. I think that it is a great workout for beginners like myself. I do think that Billy Blanks probably should have done this video by himself. The camera focused too much on the other people in the tape and not enough on him, so it is hard to see where he places his foot and how he twists his knees during jabs. I hated that the camera was on one of the girls in particular that kept screaming, oh yeah. After a couple of times, it drove me crazy. All in all it was a good tape, even though I have to keep the volume turned down and look away from the tape. oh yea!』 『Billed as the "future of fitness" and hawked by numerous celebrities, Billy Blanks's Tae-Bo actually deserves much of the hype it's receiving. A mixture of boxing punches and martial arts kicks, Tae-Bo is funandeasy. One of the best elements of this two-tape set is that the first tape (which is 40 minutes long),Tae-Bo: Instructional, lays out the movements you need to successfully complete a workout. Once you've mastered the steps, you won't have to fast-forward through half the tape to get to the workout, nor will your workout be slowed down by the repeated lessons. After you feel comfortable with the movements (and they're really quite easy to follow; nothing too complicated to trip you up), you're ready to move on toTae-Bo: Basics, a 27-minute workout (5 minutes of warm-up, 18 minutes of Tae-Bo, and 4 minutes of cool-down) that will have your heart pounding and your body sweating. The only downside to this tape is the less-than-exciting music. Blanks, a seven-time World Martial Arts champion, is a superb instructor, providing encouragement and careful instruction (if you don't know by the end of the tape to hold in your stomach, that's no one's fault but your own). Not only is Tae-Bo great exercise for all levels, but the punches and kicks are wonderful for working out stress and aggression. (Scarlett the Movie) 『I had been searching for this specific product and it was easy to find on Amazon.com. I had searched for a long time in stores and couldn't find it and even on ebay it was a little difficult and the prices were higher. I was impressed with the timing in which I received the product. I thought it would take a week or longer and it arrived within two days. My experience was definitely encouraging and look forward to purchasing from Amazon again.』
(Scarlett) 『I'm very satisfied with my purchase of the DVD "Scarlett" on Amazon.com. The product that I bought was just as the seller said it would be. There were no surprises or disappointments. And it came in the mail quickly within just a few days after ordering.』
(The first half is okay, the second half isn't.) 『I liked the first part of this movie, even though it did take some liberties with the book (it didn't have the woodland witch character, for example... and Scarlett's grandmother was the one who actually performed the Cesarian section on Scarlett.) But, the second half... with the murder of Lord Fenton and that trial?? What the heck? THAT DID NOT HAPPEN IN THE BOOK. And it wouldn't have been that difficult to stay true to the book's story for the movie!
Don't get me wrong, the movie is okay in and of itself, but anyone who was expecting it to be like the book will surely be disappointed.』
(SCARLETT AND RHETT FINALLY REALIZE THEIR TRUE FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER!) 『I loved this movie! It has the same names as GWTW, but with different new faces, and a whole new story, I loved it! GWTW is in a class by itself, but this is a very good story also! There is a cast of outstanding actors in this movie, and the story line is very good it takes you places, that you thought Scarlett would never end up being a part of! I also loved Timothy Dalton as Rhett, he is so dashing, and rakish, and handsome, and he has those classic, movie star looks, and I just loved his mustache!
Scarlett helps Ashley and his business, over a promise she made to Melanie, and she finally realizes what her true feelings for Ashley really are! Scarlett tries to win Rhett back, and he of course is resisting, and Scarlett tries to make amends with her sister, who got mad at Scarlett over marrying her beau Frank Kennedy! And Scarlett gets to meet her father's O'Hara kin, and Scarlett also gets to meet her mother's very rich father, and Scarlett even meets Rhett's mother, and the Charleston society!
Scarlett and Rhett end up getting together, after a boating accident, and then she finds out that Rhett has left her again, and she then finds out that she is going to have his baby! So she flees to Ireland, and builds a new life for herself, and guess who she meets in Ireland, someone from her past that she thought she'd never see again, Rhett and his new wife!
You would never believe all the trouble Scarlett gets herself into! And Rhett comes to her rescue! This movie keeps you going, you never know what is going to happen next! I enjoyed it! And I highly recommend it!』 『This soapy but highly watchable television "sequel" toGone with the Wind, the most popular Hollywood movie ever made, has nothing to do with memories of a vanished antebellum South. But it does end up in Ireland, where the determined Scarlett O'Hara Butler (played with frosty passion by Joanne Whalley-Kilmer) turns hard times into an opportunity by buying the ancestral home of her family. Before that happens, however, Scarlett fights to win back the estranged Rhett Butler (manfully portrayed by Timothy Dalton), often seen in the company of other women, struggles for control over the homestead Tara, and gets caught in yet another compromising position with poor Ashley Wilkes (Stephen Collins). The troubles never stop (Scarlett's Ireland adventures land her in a heap of trouble from which only Rhett can save her), but this TV miniseries wisely keeps the focus on these captivating characters, their entangled histories, and the collective destiny that refuses to part them. The show also looks good: the location scenes in Ireland are particularly handsome, and there is something unaccountably satisfying about seeing Scarlett and Rhett walking through peaceful green hills. Enjoy.--Tom Keogh』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Awesome upgrade to Bluray) 『Awesome upgrade to Bluray. Monster's Inc. looks and sounds amazing. 90% of the special features are all still in standard def, but just happy they are on there. Definitely worth the upgrade if your a Pixar fan』
(MONSTERS, INC. has an unrivaled release on Blu-ray that is chock full of bonus material) 『Pixar's 2001 hit, MONSTERS, INC., continued the studio's tradition of creating wonderfully fantastical worlds of incredible imagination in design utilizing the very best in computer animation. What is the hallmark though of a Pixar film is the fact that the development of character is always at the forefront and is never relegated to existing on a superficial level in order to showcase the many hours of hard work that went into creating the animation. MONSTERS, INC. is of course a great buddy picture, pairing two opposites together, and setting them forth on their adventure. Just as Buzz Lightyear and Woody were teamed up to create such a memorable pair in the TOY STORY movies, so too does MONSTERS, INC. couple the diminutive and always frenetic and full of energy Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), with his enormous friend Sulley (John Goodman), the leading scarer at Monsters, Inc., a company that exists to provide electricity for Monstropolis by collecting the screams of children as the monsters pop out of the kids' closet doors at night. When a toddler, Boo, inadvertently follows Sulley back through the doorway and into the monsters' own world though, Sulley and Mike must set out to try and get her back to her own world while battling those in the company that have ulterior motives. The result is a wildly funny and dynamically original movie that exudes a tremendous amount of heart from its characters.
The voice casting of Crystal and Goodman is phenomenal, and the two play off of each other so well that they create some hilarious moments on screen. Both though are allowed to fully develop their characters, and the relationship between Mike and Sulley is given the freedom to grow and change throughout the film, and this is key to the story's success. Had the enormously talented Crystal's Wazowski only been seen as the comedic sidekick of Sulley, and never given the liberty to go through his own personal character arc, a much weaker picture would have emerged. Directors Pete Docter, David Silverman and Lee Unkrich though do not go for the easy gag, but rather stay true to each of the character's own motivations, thus allowing their relationship with one another to organically grow throughout the film. By doing so, the team of Mike and Sulley become one of the most memorable from the Pixar catalogue.
Seeing the film in HD at home with the Blu-ray release of the film is in a word, breathtaking. Even though the film is now almost nine years old, the animation in MONSTERS, INC. is still beyond compare. Not only is the world of Monstropolis so completely artistically original and populated with such unique interpretations of monsters, but the level of detail in the animation is staggering. Looking at some of the skin textures of some of the monsters will quickly illustrate how much time and attention to detail went into animating the film, but by far, the scene that best exemplifies just how good the animation in MONSTERS, INC. is involves Mike and Sulley being banished to the Himalayas. Here, the thick blue and purple fur that covers Sulley's body can be seen blowing in the winter storm as small pieces of snow become stuck within it. The animation in this scene alone ranks as among the best, and serves as a milestone in computer animation excellence. Being able to see it in HD at home will bring an entirely new level of admiration for what the filmmakers were able to achieve with the movie.
For the Blu-ray release, Disney is including four discs that include the Blu-ray version of the film, a DVD version, a digital copy and a Blu-ray disc of bonus features. There is so much value with this set, that it, along with the similar edition of UP that is being released on the same day, will prove to be must have Blu-rays for everyone's collection and are rightly sure to be one of the most popular gifts given this holiday season.
The bonus material included with MONSTERS, INC. is simply amazing, and will keep a viewer engaged for hours discovering the vast amount of supplemental material on the film. The bonus features include:

(Sheer fun - family entertainment) 『IMHO the two best Disney pictures of the past decade plus are Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles. (ok, Toy Story may come close, but it's primarily a boy's movie)
Monsters Inc. is VERY appropriate for boys or girls; and family viewing. I guarantee that both young and old will enjoy the story - and young children will not be frightened by these monsters. The heart of the movie is the relationship that develops between Sully (big blue fur ball) and Boo - the child that manages to enter the monster world. Children enjoy the fact that mosters are as afraid of children as human children often are of monsters. It's a real ground leveler. Though there are 'good' and 'bad' monsters in the show, good triumphs and it leaves everyone feeling happy in the end.
Disney sells a wonderful 26" stuffed Sully for about $30. If you want to make those little eyes light up this Christmas, consider a present including both the movie and the stuffed animal. It's guaranteed to make the most timid child unafraid of bedtime.』
(Cute Movie) 『This is one of he only Pixar movies I didnt own. I had to have it. Awesome movie. My three year old LOVES it. The disc was in great shape, and I got a steal-of-a-deal on Amazon.』
(This film has style) 『First, let me just say that it is a very, very good and funny movie, but I will come back to its many good points. I have to say that as a Pixar / Disney movie it lacked something from the pervious Toy Stories, but at first I could not quite put my finger on the problem. However after reviewing other digital movie I now can see the main problem. Lets start with Titan A.E. digital quality mostly excellent, however no realism in most scenes, other then the people which often seemed cartoonish. Final Fantasy, very, very good graphics the people very real, although the surrounding environment, was the Fantasy. Now Shrek not commenting on the story line, the environment from the grass to the buildings were just perfect, and put the unreal characters in a setting which MADE them real, so we felt that the film was real. Toy Story 1&2, again especially in the 2nd the environment was perfect, also because it was in a place which we all recognises (an average city) it made everything seem real. Now finally Monsters Inc, the graphics were another step up from Toy Story 2, however all the realism was gone. This was because of where the film was set, take the scene where Sulley and Wazowski are walking down the street, on the way they pass funny cars, a Jelly Monster, and a giant and you feel that the realism we got in Toy Story is lost. Having said that the world they created was very funny, and for a change you could feel in the graphics Disney's involvement, leading to many cartoonish environments, with a Pixar's touch. Having said all that this film was brilliant, and the graphics on the little girl `Boo' we excellent. I could comment on the fact that the story line is very predicable, but it's aimed at kids and so is very easy for them to understand. As I said earlier it is a very funny movie, with a lot more comedy then Toy Story had. All the characters have certain funny quirks and mannerisms, which adds to the laughs. Also I have to say that although John Goodman did a very good job as Sulley, for me Billy Crystal made the movie his own, as the voice of Wazowski bringing more then an extra dimension to the character. Although I have to say I didn't for some reason connect to the characters as I did with Toy Story, but that could just be me. Another thing that I have to point out is the ending, well after the ending, like Toy Story 2 there's funny outtakes, but then there more and takes credits to another level. I would recommend people to go and see the movie just to see the end, and was still sitting even when the screen went black waiting for more. Well to wrap up this review this film has style, great humour, a fine plot for kids, great graphics and more, yes go and see it.』 『The folks at Pixar can do no wrong withMonsters, Inc., the studio's fourth feature film, which stretches the computer animation format in terms of both technical complexity and emotional impact. The giant, blue-furred James P. "Sulley" Sullivan (wonderfully voiced by John Goodman) is a scare-monster extraordinaire in the hidden world of Monstropolis, where the scaring of kids is an imperative in order to keep the entire city running. Beyond the competition to be the best at the business, Sullivan and his assistant, the one-eyed Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), discover what happens when the real world interacts with theirs in the form of a 2-year-old baby girl dubbed "Boo," who accidentally sneaks into the monster world with Sulley one night. Director Pete Doctor and codirectors David Silverman and Lee Unkrich follow the Pixar (Toy Story) blueprint with an imaginative scenario, fun characters, and ace comic timing. By the last heart-tugging shot, kids may never look at monsters the same, nor artists at what computer animation can do in the hands of magicians.--Doug Thomas』 『A hilarious children's movie.』

But while Pulp Fiction changes all the time, featuring many different topics, great bursts of action, Basterds doesn't quite accomplish this, with many periods of dialogue that seems to drag and drag. Jackie Brown was as long and featured even more dialogue, but the dialogue sets didn't drag all the time. I think that Basterds is on the same boat as Brown, but that's only because Jackie Brown doesn't feature as much action or fun. The dialogue isn't as bad as Kill Bill Vol 2, and there is great dialogue all over the place, but Basterds has a tendency to drag.
This still has Tarantino written all over it. The spaghetti western music is just as infectious as Pulp Fiction's surf oriented sound track, Jackie Brown's funk and soul sound track, basically, all the Tarantino sound tracks. The humor is still there, and at it's best, it's classic hilarity. The action scenes are ace. When I saw it in the theaters, I'm sure there were people who laughed off the violence and called it cheesy of over the top, that's what makes the movie so fun. The shootouts are loud, overtly done, and makes me wish there were more violent scenes (I can't wait to see what he does with classic mafia staples, such as tommy guns). The sets are amazingly done, as they are totally exotic and he knows how to pick em' out. It's nice to see him venture out of Los Angeles. His direction is top notch, and the acting is great, from Eli Roth. And I love Roth's character, as he's loud and obnoxious, as well as Hugo Stiglitz. There are lot's of great characters in this, and some of them have already entered among my favorite Tarantino characters.
The reason why I'm calling this Killer n' filler is because when Basterds cooks, it really cooks like any other Tarantino movie. This is most evident in the first, second, and fifth chapters, featuring great dialogue and cool action. The first chapter has tension, and shows how multifaced Landa, "The Jew Hunter", is. The second chapter is all pure fun. Aldo's speech is hilarious and quotable from beginning to end. b And the fifth chapter is another masterpiece of storytelling, with a great ending, and lot's of numerous intercutting stories and everything else worth. Uh, what else can I say? It's top notch stuff, and I could really write paragraph and nitpick my favorite points.
However, I'm giving this a lower grade because of the short comings of the third and fourth chapter. The fourth chapter is kind of fun, featuring some interesting insight, great bits between Hugo, basement complaining, and the shootout near the end (not to mention the funny bit where Raine sticks his finger through Bridget's leg wound, I was the only one who laughed like crazy). However, the scenes has many parts when it just drags, and even though the characters are likeable (Diane Kruger is damn good looking, and I don't usually look at actresses), it offers little to no insight. The third chapter suffers from this even more, and while some of the stylistic parts are great to see, others parts aren't. While the use of music is great, the diner scene, and especially the restrauant scene, had me half asleep. Sure, his style (not to mention Tarantino's most beautiful sets yet) is still evident at points, but style isn't everything, and even Tarantino's style isn't enough to save some of the parts from boredom.
Still, it's still a Tarantino movie, and it's a worthy edition to his ever growing filmography of cinema. ANd while there's problems with it's self indulgence regarding dialogue, it's still yet another Tarantino movie to add to the growing collection of my favorite director. A cheesy Salute, to the Basterds"!

(Tarentino's Masterpiece) 『Inglourious Basterds is, without a doubt, Tarantino's masterpiece. In fact, not to jinks him or wish him anything but the best in future endeavors, but it is my opinion the odds of him surpassing what he has achieved in this film are slim indeed.
While there have been numerous complaints (even in the most complimentary of reviews) of the many incongruous elements found throughout the film, I have found it is the very disparity of those elements that tie this film into a unifying whole - and precisely what makes it one of the most satisfactory films and satisfying movie experiences of 2009. It is this genre-busting, "what is it?" quality that makes it unique among the major players of this year's top films.
Visually, Tarantino has done nothing to date that quite matches the opulence he achieves here a tailor made look evocative of the "Grand Hollywood Style" of those glorious Technicolor epics of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Like those, every frame of "Inglorious Basterds" seems worthy of being reproduced as "art" in its own right. The color spectrum he employs throughout is rich and vivid in that 1950's fashion - simultaneously lurid yet beautiful.
He elicits performances from his cast that are among the most memorable seen in years. The arc of the Shoshana story - Melanie Laurent in a powerfully searing performance that throbs with a ferocious intensity, anchors the various chapters of the film brilliantly. That performance is matched (and maybe even surpassed) by her chief tormentor, in the guise of Austrian actor Christopher Waltz as Hans Landa of the SS. Waltz, in fact, makes one of the most amazing film debuts in American film history. Chilling doesn't begin to describe his performance here.
Not to be outdone by her costars, Diane Kruger gets to star in one of Tarantino's most brilliantly conceived scenes from any of his films - the basement bar scene. As the unlikely (and hilariously) named Bridget Von Hammersmark, Kruger gives her finest performance since Joyeux Noel and proves herself both as comedian and grand tragedienne.
The Basterds - headed by Brad Pitt - have found some critics singling theirs out to be the weakest element of the movie, but I disagree. Strongly. While the danger of the European war front can be elegantly confusing throughout the entire film (e.g., the almost Andrew Wyeth spareness of the opening chapter; the inviting danger of the basement bar; the opulence of the Cinetheque, etc.) the sheer audacity and brutality of the scenes with the Basterds adds a provocatively American feel to the story's proceedings.
The Basterds are almost a comic chorus line - not quite interchangeable archetypes in a film otherwise populated with specific and memorable characters. Of course several of them (including Mr. Pitt) get to partake in a finale that is (even by Tarentino standards) so over the top it is nothing if not jaw dropping. The entire finale offers one of the most hauntingly beautiful and memorable scenes modern cinema has had to offer in a very long time.
Mr. Tarantino paints all of this onto the broadest canvas possible using a palette that combines the almost unseemly mixtures of film noir, slapstick, crude comedy, art house film, historical fiction, James Bond-style slickness, buddy pic and action flick seemingly without a fleeting concern as to what anybody else thinks. It's a "take no prisoners" style of filmmaking that (clearly) does not play to all tastes and demands that it be taken on its own terms. If one is willing to take that journey with him the rewards are remarkable and immeasurable. A truly remarkable film achievement. Bravo, Signor Tarantino! 』
(Quintessentially Tarantino, but could've been much better) 『With all the hype surrounding Inglorious Basterds and being a fan of previous Tarantino works like Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, WWII combat films and westerns, I expected to like Basterds a lot more than I did. As you already know from trailers and ads, the film is a lavishly-produced and violent revenge fantasy centered around a plot to take out the Nazi High Command. Basterds has the look of film-making of yesteryear, drawing inspiration and stylistic influences from such sources as the classic 1967 film The Dirty Dozen, spaghetti westerns and "macaroni combat" films (a sub-genre of films produced by Italian directors of the mid-60's). Like all Tarantino films, it is filled with wonderfully inventive, humorous (and sometimes rambling) dialog, quirky narrative pacing, and a cast of memorable characters. And of course, lots of hidden references and punctuated by great music.
For those who haven't seen the film, there are actually two main story branches: the more publicized one concerning the Basterds, and another revolving around a young Jewish woman named Shoshana who is living in Paris under an assumed name and identity. Her story comes first. In Chapter 1, we are introduced to the film's main antagonist, a charming, highly intelligent, and charismatic SS Colonel named Hans Landa, nicknamed "The Jew Hunter" for his ruthless efficiency. He visits a French farmhouse where a teenage Shoshana and her family are being hidden. Shoshana is the only survivor of that encounter. She flees, but with a clear opportunity to kill her, Landa lets her escape.
Next, we cut to Chapter 2 where we see Lt. Aldo Raine (played by a miscast Brad Pitt) recruiting a unit of Jewish American soldiers to engage in guerrilla operations deep within Axis-controlled France, spreading terror through the Nazi ranks with their ambush tactics and brutality. We see them clubbing Nazi soldiers to death with baseball bats and taking of scalp, shown very graphically. Pitt's performance and mannerisms as a hardened military man from Tennessee (complete with Southern drawl) is not completely convincing, reminding me of his character from 12 Monkeys instead. My major criticism here is with the character development. It's very lacking, in my opinion. We only get a brief vignette/flashback of Hugo Stiglitz (Til Schweiger), called out by name in a 60's movie font. We don't get much of a backstory for Aldo or any of the other 7 basterds except Stiglitz, giving us very little emotional investment. Not all of them make it through the film.
Next, we have the British coming into play, hatching up "Operation Kino" (German for "cinema"), a joint operation with the Basterds to blow up a movie theater where Hitler and his top commanders will be attending a film screening of Joseph Goebbels' newest propaganda film. Mike Meyers makes a cameo appearance as a British General, sounding a bit like Austin Powers with his fake accent. Unknown to the Allies, Shoshana hatches a plot of her own and we return to her in the fifth and final chapter as she sets her plans in motion and the remaining parties converging for a final fateful encounter, all set to David Bowie's bellowing "Putting Out Fire" (a song originally written for Cat People). It's wonderfully anachronistic and appropriate, as is almost all of the musical choice in the film, which blends rock riffs, Spanish guitar, and too many styles for me to identify.
Austrian actor Christoph Waltz is absolutely brilliant as Landa and is expected to get an Oscar tap for his command performance. Cold, calculating, beguilingly charming, and nuanced, Tarantino says Landa is perhaps his greatest character. Waltz infuses the character with complexity, humor, and wit. He really makes this movie.
Stylistically, the film is beautiful shot, visually convincing, and full of that trademark Tarantino flare. It's a very enjoyable experience if you like his work and WWII films in general, but I felt Pitt was miscast and not totally believable in his role. The basterds needed more character development if we are to care about their fates. We get very little personality information to go on here, and the film treated them as expendables. Even if the army did, the film shouldn't have treated them as disposables if we are to make a two and a half hour investment in watching this film and in the characters. Overall, I enjoyed this film, but it could've been better.』
(DO NOT LISTEN DO DROOLING FANBOYS -- This Movie SUCKS. SUCKS.) 『Everyone I know who does not have a man-crush on Q.T. thinks this movies SUCKS. And they are RIGHT.
BORING.
INSIPD.
TRITE.
UNFUNNY.
UNMOVING.
The opening scene (Hide-a-Jew) is awesome. After that -- 2+ hours of sheer CRAP.
BYPASS.』
(Flawed but awesome) 『First off, let's get this out of the way: Quentin Tarentino will never, EVER top "Pulp Fiction". Period. Not gonna happen. So everyone really needs to stop comparing his movies to "Pulp Fiction". Second, this isn't supposed to be an accurate, dramatic depiction of World War II. We've seen a million of those types of films, and no portrayal of the Holocaust is going to surpass "Schindler's List", nor should it: it's one of the best movies of all time. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, "Inglourious Basterds" isn't perfect but it's still a good movie. Christoph Waltz is to this movie what Javier Bardeim was to "No Country for Old Men": a menacing, sadistic lunatic who you wanted to die but at the same time didn't because he's such an interesting character. Hopefully Mr. Waltz will get more roles in major American films, because his portrayal of "the Jew Hunter" is amazing. Brad Pitt is extremely entertaining as the leader of the Basterds, Aldo Raine, and his "artwork" and the "debt" he extracts from his men are so horrible that you have to love it. He also does a wonderful East Tennessee accent that other actors could stand to learn from (I'm looking at you, George Clooney). However, Melanie Laurent steals the movie as Shosanna, the secretly-Jewish Parisian cinema owner determined to not only take out "the Jew Hunter" for murdering her family but also the entire Nazi regime during the premiere of a Nazi propaganda film. She's cold yet vulnerable and sweet yet ruthless, and she's clearly the center of attention in the scenes she's in. Unfortunately, Tarantino's obsession with dialogue prevents this movie from taking the step from good to great. Despite the title, there are precious few appearances by the Basterds; they're pretty much confined to the end of the first chapter and portions of the last chapter (and then many only make cameo appearances). Eli Roth as Donnie Donowitz ("The Bear Jew" as he is know to the superstitious and scared Nazis) is a particular lost opportunity, because aside from Pitt's character he's the most interesting of the Basterds as well as the most sadistic (in a good way: we're talking about killing Nazis, after all). Diane Kruger's portrayal of double-agent Bridget von Hammerstock isn't terrible, but her character is so underexposed and boring that there's no real reason for her existence in the film. In fact, the entire episode in the bar is so unnecessary, drawn-out, and straight boring that you have to wonder what Tarantino was thinking shooting this scene at all; he could've used that time to undergo more exposition for the Basterds (or at least cut down on the length of the movie). This exact same criticism applies to the British agent and the scene with Churchill. I personally would've liked to have seen Shoshanna's biracial romance brought out a little more, and the entire high command of Germany meeting in a movie theater does seem a little far-fetched even for this movie (although the end result is wonderful). Overall, I would say take this movie for what it is: a fun, incredibly violent (seriously, don't see this if you're sqeemish) ride. The ending is bittersweet, but anyone who hates the Nazis will still wish this is what had happened in real life (preferably in 1933). Now, some people (at least among critics) are upset because they think the all-Jewish Basterds are so horrifically violent that they are no better than the Gestapo. My response to this is who cares?! The Nazis - specifically the high command and the SS - commit so many atrocities that it really doesn't matter how violent the Basterds respond in kind: they can never be worse than the Nazis they terrorize. Definitely see this movie.』 『Although Quentin Tarantino has cherished Enzo G. Castellari's 1978 "macaroni" war flickThe Inglorious Bastardsfor most of his film-geek life, his ownInglourious Basterdsis no remake. Instead, as hinted by the Tarantino-esque misspelling, this is a lunatic fantasia of WWII, a brazen re-imagining of both history and the behind-enemy-lines war film subgenre. There's a Dirty Not-Quite-Dozen of mostly Jewish commandos, led by a Tennessee good ol' boy named Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) who reckons each warrior owes him one hundred Nazi scalps--and he means that literally. Even as Raine's band strikes terror into the Nazi occupiers of France, a diabolically smart and self-assured German officer named Landa (Christoph Waltz) is busy validating his own legend as "The Jew Hunter." Along the way, he wipes out the rural family of a grave young girl (Melanie Laurent) who will reappear years later in Paris, dreaming of vengeance on an epic scale.
Now, this isn't one more big-screen comic book. As the masterly opening sequence reaffirms, Tarantino is a truefilmmaker, with a deep respect for the integrity of screen space and the tension that can accumulate in contemplating two men seated at a table having a polite conversation.IBreunites QT with cinematographer Robert Richardson (who shotKill Bill), and the colors and textures they serve up can be riveting, from the eerie red-hot glow of a tabletop in Adolf Hitler's den, to the creamy swirl of a Parisian pastry in which Landa parks his cigarette. The action has been divided,Pulp Fiction-like, into five chapters, each featuring at least one spellbinding set-piece. It's testimony to the integrity we mentioned that Tarantino can lock in the ferocious suspense of a scene for minutes on end, then explode the situation almost faster than the eye and ear can register, andthentake the rest of the sequence to a new, wholly unanticipated level within seconds.
Again, be warned: This is not your "Greatest Generation,"Saving Private RyanWWII. The sadism of Raine and his boys can be as unsavory as the Nazi variety; Tarantino's latest cinematic protégé, Eli (director ofHostel) Roth, is aptly cast as a self-styled "golem" fond of pulping Nazis with a baseball bat. But get past that, and the sometimes disconcerting shifts to another location and another set of characters, and the movie should gather you up like a growing floodtide. Tarantino told the Cannes Film Festival audience that he wanted to show "Adolf Hitler defeated by cinema." Cinema wins.--Richard T. Jameson』
『Brad Pitt takes no prisoners in Quentin Tarantino’s high-octane WWII revenge fantasy Inglourious Basterds. As war rages in Europe, a Nazi-scalping squad of American soldiers, known to their enemy as“The Basterds,” is on a daring mission to take down the leaders of the Third Reich. Bursting with“action, hair-trigger suspense and a machine-gun spray of killer dialogue” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone), Inglourious Basterds is“another Tarantino masterpiece” (Jake Hamilton, CBS-TV)!』

In comparison to the free weekly episodes, this is right up there in terms of humor. I had a few laugh out loud moments. I just don't understand why this was released separately and not just included in season 5. It's only one episode (43 minutes worth) and it basically costs the same as entire seasons. I wasn't really happy about that but, being a huge fan, I purchased it anyways. At least there could've been some more extras or something. The DVD doesn't include many and the ones they have aren't the greatest. Wish there could've been more bloopers and/or gag reels. Great episode and great show but loses a point because this unnecessary stand alone episode cost me extra money for no good reason.』
(Rip-Off) 『Full price for a 43 minute movie... What kind of crap is this! My advice for you is to find a friend or two (or three) to throw in on it, that way you only spend a few bucks. Otherwise, I don't think it is worth it. It is an extra-long mediocre episode at best. And the extra "The Gang Singing Christmas Carols", I don't even know what to say about that part, it is like some kind of demented 80 music video! I love Sunny, but buying this DVD felt a little like dropping the soap in the prison shower.』
(Spectacular) 『There seems to be two main groups of people giving this reviews - people who haven't seen it, but love the show, so they give it a 5, and people who hate the price, so they give it a 1. Ignore them both.
I just got this in the mail today, watched it, it's hilarious, as good as any episode. It's 40 minutes, the length of two episodes. The ending is a little weak, the rest is spectacular. That's really all there is to it. If you're willing to pay a standard DVD price for two episodes, go for it, I promise you won't be disappointed. If you don't think it's worth it, no one's twisting your arm, you have no right to complain.』
(Hilarious, but I admit may be expensive) 『I am a huge fan of Always Sunny and would definitely reckomend(Charlie spelling) this DVD. Yes, it is expensive. I was lucky enough to get it discounted with Seasons 1-4 on the deal of the day(Thanks Amazon!) so it didn't really effect me. The added violence and cursing definitely made me wish every episode could have it! They use the cursing efficiently and always to great effect. If you like Always Sunny you can't really go wrong with this DVD. I was excited to see Mack and Charlie paired together again(Lately the dynamic has been Frank/Charlie and Mack/Dennis) for some great, hilarious moments. Loved it and think you will love it too!』
(Not worth purchase!) 『I watched a rented copy last night and so glad it was not a purchase. It was a disappointment! First of all I was excited about the Christmas theme but there was just not enough funny. Plenty of typical "Sunny" bizzarre moments but its so nice when you get done with a regular season epsiode and have a bounty of funny quotes and I can't think of one for this special. For any fan, its definitely worth seeing but I would not purchase on its own accord, wait for when its included with Season 5.』 『Studio: Tcfhe Release Date: 11/17/2009 Run time: 60 minutes Rating: Nr』

A remastering of a classic... not much to say if you've seen Snow White. I love that it comes with a DVD copy as well. This is great so that you can play on the DVD player in the car for the kids, while still having blu-ray quality at home. Definitely worth adding to your movie collection.』
(Snow White Blu-Ray) 『Haven't seen this since childhood, many decades ago. Forgot how delightful this film really is. Recommend it to everyone, whether you have children or not. It will bring out the child in you as you reflect.』
(A Classic Strikes Again) 『There is little I can really say about this movie besides the differences between it and the older classic we all know and love.
1. The movie has the option of showing paintings on the sides of the film to expand it to widescreen size. I used these and while they looked kind of cool didn't really feel like the biggest improvement to me. 2. The sound and picture quality is good but it's a really old film so you can't really push the level of detail up too much. It performs well given the medium, however.
In general, you likely can makedo with just the DVD. The fact this combo comes with both a DVD and a Bluray disk obviously is hinting that while bluray is likely the wave of the future not much has changed given it can't really.
I'd suggest buying this if you have a bluray player otherwise just considering buying the DVD alone if you can find it.』
(Good movie, bad shipment) 『I like this movie a lot, it is a great disney presentation, i would prefered in a blu ray boz size, but i feel very dissaponited with amazon.com shipment service, because my specia edition box came several damage, i am from Venezuela, it is very expensieve for to sent my damage item back, amazon.con should be more carefully with this stuff』
(Superb picture and sound quality) 『If you are a fan of the Disney Classics, you have to pick up Snow White on Blu-Ray/DVD Combo. They film has been remastered and has never looked or sounded better. We previously had Snow White on VHS and the difference between the two is astounding.
In case you haven't seen Snow White, I have to tell you to beware as it is quite violent. I watched it with my daughter and I was shocked at how much more violent it was than I remembered it. The Wicked Witch orders the hunter to kill Snow White and cut out her heart. There is also a seen in which the hunter is standing behind Snow White with a knife, in position to stab her. So, this may not be the best movie to watch with your little one. You might want to watch it first and fast forward through the scary parts when watching with a child.』 『One of the brightest nuggets from Disney's golden age, this 1937 film is almost dizzying in its meticulous construction of an enchanted world, with scores of major and minor characters (including fauna and fowl), each with a distinct identity. When you watch Snow White's intricate, graceful movements of fingers, arms, and head all in one shot, it is not the technical brilliance of Disney's artists that leaps out at you, but the very spirit of her engaging, girl-woman character. When the wicked queen's poisoned apple turns from killer green to rose red, the effect of knowing something so beautiful can be so terrible is absolutely elemental, so pure it forces one to surrender to the horror of it. Based on the Grimm fairy tale, Snow White is probably the best family film ever to deal, in mythic terms, with the psychological foundation for growing up. It's a crowning achievement and should not be missed.--Tom Keogh

(slick little drive, great performance so far) 『this is a nifty little drive, replacing my 80gig portable hard drive i've been taking on business trips. after grabbing a seagate 1TB drive and being surprised at how quiet is was, this is just as quiet. i double partitioned it into W:Work and P:Play drives, seems fast so far, no problems with copying gigs of video. i really like the slick design, slides into my bag's pocket easily, no external power supply, just the one micro USB cable. agreed with one of the other reviewers on the micro-usb inclusion instead of the more standard mini, but that's really the only gripe i have. 500gig, sleek and slick. nice drive.』 『Seagate external portable drives are compact and perfect for on-the-go. Instantly add more storage space to your computer and take large files with you when you travel.Setup is straight forward, simply connect a single USB cable and you are ready to go. The drive is powered from the USB cable, so there is no need for an external power supply. Plus, it is automatically recognized by Windows, so there is no software to install and nothing to configure. Saving files is easy too, just drag-and-drop.It's not just easy to use, but it's fast and energy efficient too. Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A proprietary hard drive like the latest WD Passport) 『I don't own the drive, but online research indicates that this is a "proprietary" (not mass storage) drive, like the latest generation WD Passport drives (pls inform me if I'm wrong and I'll remove this "review"): it shows up as a CD-ROM partition and you CANNOT perform basic hard disk operations such as delete/modify partitions.
I appreciate HP and WD adding value to this commoditized hard drive market with their backup solutions and also a fan of their designs, but fail to understand the logic of dumbing this thing down to a mere "backup device."』
(Nice backup software - unless you don't want to use it.) 『The software, Windows only, works pretty simply. If you are after a decent, small, slick backup drive with specific software this may do you well.
However, if you want to use the Simplesave as a plain external hard disk you're in for a rude surprise. The backup software is installed on a "Virtual CD-ROM" partition that is installed on the drive in some very low level manner so that you can't get rid of the 500M of wasted "virtual CD-ROM" partition. Why didn't HP just put the software in the root drive of the data partition? Unfortunately, it's another typical "cram the software down your throat" HP product.』 『HP's SimpleSave portable hard drive fits stylishly in your pocket or purse, is perfect for plug-and-play extra storage and makes data backup so simple anyone can do it.』

Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available. We'll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your credit card will not be charged until we ship the item. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Very Clever device) 『Being someone whom is picky about my audio and video quality, I have to say, I am more impressed with my Roku than I thought I would be. First and foremost, if your cable modem does not have an extra available Ethernet port, you will need to purchase a router in order to connect this device. In my case having a Motorola modem from Comcast, there is only one Ethernet port so I used a Linksys BEFSR41 cable/DSL router which has an internet "in" port and then 4 additional Ethernet ports. That's 3 more ports than what I needed but it was the least I could find. BTW it works flawlessly for 49.99 + tax. The picture streams smoothly, in fact better than when viewing on my computer...another thing that surprised me. I was a little concerned how smooth it would stream with a 50 dollar router but works fine. Oh, I forgot to mention, I prefer to be hard wired to my computer so this was not a "wireless" install. That's just my choice.
So in a nut shell connection wise, Ethernet out of comcast modem to internet Ethernet port "in" of Linksys with the supplied blue Ethernet wire that came with the router. Then ethernet from computer into port 1 of Linksys then Roku Ethernet into port 2 of Linksys. To know if you were successful, if your computer is able to access the internet after this set up, your fine! Done. Then in my application I connected the Roku via component(red, blue, green) to my TV
My television only has two HDMI ports but one is being used by my Comcast modem and the other by my DVD player.
If your TV has an available HDMI then the Roku DOES have an HDMI port. Then I took the Roku audio left and right and connected to an available audio on my receiver (in my case I used the tape audio out). Bingo, fantastic audio out via my receiver; I just hit the Tape input on my receiver remote when using Roku for my audio.
Depending on the movie you stream from Netflix, the picture quality for most movies is very good. Some of the movies are streamed in a HD format for example The Story of Weeping Camel. The overall picture quality very acceptable where I have no buyers remorse whatsoever. And believe me, I am one to have tendency for "buyers remorse". Not this time. I suppose if one was forced to shut down their cable/satellite service with the bad economy, this is one alternative to have a fairly good selection of stuff to watch via your computer streamed to your TV and simply pull in your locals OTA until things improve.
Once your Roku is connected, you follow the prompts on your Roku which will appear nice and crystal clear on your TV screen and it will also allow you to set up for your applications that apply to your TV such as 16:9 format and so forth. It will then display a code number that you will use at your Netflix member website to authenticate you as a Netflix member and activate your device. You go to netflix, sign in, go to your member acct and you will see an option to activate your device. Once that is done, (it takes two seconds) any movies you have in your watch instantly queue, will be accessible on the screen of your TV with your Roku; BTW Roku has a nice interface to it.
With your Roku remote you can navigate through your queue using the left and right arrow buttons and when you see the movie of your choice just hit your select key and there you go. I have a high resolution screen computer and one big surprise to me was the picture quality on my TV is actually better than what I would see on my computer screen. Go figure! Now keep in mind, I have a 65 in TV and even on such a large screen it is superior than it is on my 17 inch wide screen computer. That was the thing that impressed me the most. It really did exceed my expectations. I give it a two thumbs up!
As I said in the subject line...VERY CLEVER DEVICE!
』
(Roku HD-XR) 『Great, user friendly product. Small, lightweight, easy to connect and setup. I recently installed wireless N Xtreem network, but due to configuration of my house it doesn't work that well, not only with Roku, but any other wireless device I tried. Wherever I set my router, one quarter of the house gets poor signal. I solved the problem with netgear powerline AV that hooks to your network and internet through power outlet. Another $100, but well worth it. This works perfect. No time delays and picture/sound quality is excellent. Thus, cheaper version Roku HD would have done the job for me. Before ordering Roku HD-XR check your wireless signal. Signal must be very good to excellent. Wireless N does have extender range as compared to G, but do not expect miracles. If the signal you get with wireless G is less than good (less than 3 bars), than it's not worth upgrading to wireless N. Powerline AV will do better job.』
(A great new toy) 『I am really enjoying my new Roku XR. The setup was extremely easy and intuitive. I am running the ROKU XR wirelessly off of an N-Router (Trendnet 633) located on the other side of the house. I am getting "4 dots and HD" (best quality) with no interuptions in play.
My only complaint is that I have to go to Netflix and enter movies I want to watch on the Netflix Instant Queue before the Roku XR will play the movie. So basically, I have to go to my computer, find my TV shows or movies, enter them into the Instant Queue on the computer then goto the ROKU and my selections will be available to watch. I really wish I could scan for movies and shows thru the ROKU.
Other than that, the setup and playback quality is excellent using HDMI. Recommended :)』
(Tracking numbers) 『I have found that some of the USPS tracking numbers you give are not found on the USPS site until almost the delevery day. I checked the FEDEX site and they are tracking the number from seller to local post office. then when I track the number at USPS they have the data to track it from the local post office to me. So I think you should tell the customer that the USPS tracking is also a Fedex number for tracking. I know this may only be in my area. Interesting NO???』
(Glad I bought the XR model) 『Initially I had purchased the only player roku made....so i thought after doing some research on the roku online I noticed the company had come out with a total of 3 players (roku sd, roku hd, roku hd-xr) once I found out that the roku hd-xr comes with wireless N tech I said thats the one I want and returned the original purchase and am glad I did. Roku HD model is only wireless G and older compatable. N is so much better. Setup was a breeze and the interface is so easy a caveman can do it. I have a netflix account and was excited about starting to stream and watch movies on the television untill I relized by browsing Netflix's watch instatnly section how little content netflix has for streaming.....bummer, but if your into movies late 80's and older you should be good to go. the only saving grace on the movie option is that it also has amazons movies on demand which has just about any movie/show you can think of for about a price of free to 5.99 depending on title to rent. Also roku is supposed to be coming out with a roku channel soon (please link to HULU and Youtube atleast!!). The quality of the streaming especially in HD is great (720p) and standard def is about DVD quality or just a little less. I think roku recomends about 5Mbps download speed at minimum for reliable streaming so a broadband connection should be used or else you will get dropped frames and stuttering. So far a months worth of use and no issues to date! The reason why this diddnt get 5 stars is the USB connection on the back of the device does nothing....At least not yet. Roku says its undertermined what its use will be as of now but I assume it will eventually allow u to hook up an external hard drive and play movies or pictures that u allready have. Great product. Thanks Roku....』 『Now featuring extended-range wireless, Roku is the easiest way to stream instant movies and shows directly to your TV - over 50,000 and counting, from Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand, and more. The top-of-the-line HD-XR model uses the latest wireless standard (Wi-Fi "N") to deliver the best quality video virtually anywhere in your home. It's so easy and powerful; no wonder Roku is Netflix members' top rated streaming player.』

Usually ships in 1 to 2 days Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (LOVE this camera!!!! But battery life so-so) 『This camera makes it very easy to take pictures of yourself. The front screen makes it possible to perfectly frame your pics. The touch screen is nice but very sensitive so lots of times you may find yourself in a different screen than where you want to be. The only thing I would want changed is to be able to charge the battery independent of the camera. As the battery life is not so good being able to use the camera while charging an extra battery would be ideal. All in all, a good camera.』
(Small and Quick) 『Samsung TL225 Pocket Camera
Pros : Quick shot-to-shot, Fast start-up Cons : Scrolling pictures Best Uses : Pocket camera, Hiking
The TL225 is small and fast. The start-up time is less than a second and the flash regeneration is less than 4 seconds. Focus lock is quick and I have not "missed a shot" because the camera wasn't ready.
However, the motion sensor that changes pictures during playback makes it hard to pass the camera around to friends without changing the selected photo. -----------------------------------------------------』
(Every picture blurred!) 『Well, this purchase has been a huge disappointment. I purchased this September 30th, but then could not use it because it does not use standard memory cards and I had to go out of town on business. So, I get back and go to several stores - CVS, Walgreen's, etc and they do not carry the memory cards. Finally, I went to Radio Shack and they had them, but insisted that they were not used in any cameras and tried to talk me out of buying one. I bought the card anyway and finally had a chance to use it to take halloween pictures of my kids. Well, guess what? EVERY picture is blurry, at EVERY setting and even on a tripod. So, now it has been (just) over 30 days and I can't return it. Called Samsung, and what they told me basically amounts to "if it doesn't work we're going to try to trick you out of even more money." Bottom line, for all extents and purposes there is no warranty. So, if you are considering buying this: (1) be ready to get the special memory card ASAP and test it out thoroughly from day one, because, (2) if you miss your 30-day return window you just paid for a paperweight. I will never buy a higher priced item from Amazon and will not purchase anything from Samsung.』
(compare with other brands before buying) 『I saw a TV commercial for this camera and I thought I'd see reviews on amazon.com for the product. Last week I purchased a panasonic ZS3 and I am waiting to have it on my hands.
This is not exactly a review, so I apologize about that, but after reading a bit about this camera, it seems that it's just "ok" and has normal functions for it's price. the new tech it has, the dual screen is great, I can think of a couple situations where it might had come in handy compared to my sony cameras.
I do suggest for anyone to try get information on this camera before buying it. I've been let down by newer sony's models as they don't take amazing pictures as I'd would like to (and as I was used with an old P200 from sony)
I also suggest reading V.Bank's review. his review seems to be honest and makes me believe all he is saying is the truth. There is another review that doesn't seem to be a user review, but a fan, or almost as someone who works for samsung. Mary Shelton seems to know too much about the camera, even though "she" says she doesn't know much about them. the link she gives for the review, is called "seagadget". I did some review and this site belongs to samsung electronics America inc (SEA). So it's not a review, it's a product in-depth description. if you go to the site, take note that they only review samsung "gadgets"
When I mentioned Mary as a "she", I said that because "she" seems to have other identities. She just copies and pastes her review, did it on the samsung TL220, but with another nickname (Giles Shelton "EtherMagic" (Chicago)) --- Why use another nickname and do the exact same review?. Then I wanted to search about the camera at dpreview, and found his exact same review, but signed as "Paul". there are a few days apart from each "review" but he or she always say "I went to best buy yesterday". someone defending so much a product that you don't actually have is not a good reviewer. I wouldn't dare to review my ZS3 even though I have also toyed and research a lot about it. I would even wait for a couple of weeks to make a good review.
Anyway, I can compare a bit the samsung with the panasonic Zs3 which have the same msrp:
megapixels: samsung has 12 vs pannys 10. If you are going to print out posters then samsung is a winner optical zoom: panasonic wins all the way with 12X vs. 4.6X . That's more than double wide angle: both are wide enough, BUT panasonic has 25mm vs samsung's 27mm. (smaller is better, gets more of the scene into your picture)
The other specifications are similar, so I won't go into details. mini SD? who cares? I've owned sony with memory sticks and never had a problem to transfer them to a PC or to my laptop. Paul, Mary or Giles (whatever his name is) is right, it comes with an adapter so you will have a regular sized SD. Afraid to get it lost? Be extra careful
Go to best buy and try the samsung, try the panasonic, try whatever brand you like. At the end, the most important thing about a point and shoot is that you get excellent results from your shots, daylight, low light conditions, etc. All of the rest fails and is worthless if your pictures don't come clean.
you can find REAL reviews of REAL people here at amazon and everywhere else, make sure to read them and discard what looks fake.』
(I love this camera!) 『I was a little nervous purchasing this camera, as there didn't seem to be too many reviews out there and I wasn't able to see one in person before buying. However, I have fallen in love with it. My main worry was that this would be one of those electronic devices that had too many cool features and none of them would work well. Nothing could be further from the truth. It did take a small amount of time to adjust to yet another touch screen with a slightly different response, but it didn't take long at all.
Another interesting point for me was that this camera seems to be advertised by Samsung mostly for it's dual screens. While it is fun to have, that isn't it's best feature.
Features I really like: - Auto rotating of pictures - Gesture commands - the ability to switch modes with one click and a movement of the camera - Grouping of pictures - When viewing pictures on the camera, it has a mode that seems to group them by who is in the picture. It works amazing well, and I've never seen a camera do anything like this. - Touch screen - the ability to delete pictures just by drawing an "x" on them. Yes, it does warn you before deleting the picture, just in case.
Negatives: - The flash seems to be a bit bright in many situations. We haven't been able to find a "soft" flash for those situations. - The front LCD is sometimes hard to turn on by just touching it. It works better to use the rear LCD to turn in on.
Even the negatives are very minor. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who has the money to spend!』 『Samsung proudly introduces a new milestone in digital camera technology. The 12.2 Megapixel Dual LCD Digital Camera with a 1.5" front LCD screen, a revolutionary feature in the industry, lets you take part in capturing the moment like never before. The Samsung Dual LCD Digital Camera lets you see every scene in a completely new and exciting way. Just use the front LCD screen, and set up the perfect shot with you in it, time after time. A host of top-ranked features and technologies, from the lens to the user interface, turns this camera into a true must-have. And the small, handheld size makes it easy to take it with you everywhere you go. (PERFECT for PC...but not for a Mac) 『I purchased this external because as a photographer...I need LOTS of hard drive space. I use both a PC and a Mac, and every time I plugged this into my iMac it would FIRST)Not be able to read it, THEN)When I unplugged it, it would completely crash my iMac! On the other hand, it works seamlessly with my PC, no drivers to install, just plug in, move files, and VOILA! It's also big enough that when I upgraded to Windows 7, and wiped my hard drive for a fresh/clean install, I was able to back up my ENTIRE 320GB hard drive in just a couple hours!
I've only owned this for a couple months, but so far, it's been a reliable lifesaver!!!』
(plug and play) 『I needed this as an external backup device for a linux server. I just plugged it in and away it went!』
(Good for the price) 『I purchased this hard disk from amazon. For 1TB storage and price this is a good hardisk. But it does make crackling noise while starting sometimes and while backing up data, that is annoying. Else rest of the period it is quietly running.Vents for the harddisk is at the lower bottom of the harddisk. Poorly designed for heat dissipation. But you can invert the harddisk to get proper airflow or put some harddisk rubber pads below which will elevate the harddisk.
For the price it is really a good product seeing the reviews about other harddisk I would definitely recommend this harddisk.』
(Seagate 1.5 TB purchased thru amazon) 『Have been using this external drive for a few weeks now. Seems to be fine Yes do hear a little clicking noise every so often, but it just tells me it's awake and working.
Took a couple days to move 1TB of video and pics initially over from another external drive. I guess as expected using the USB but now for accessing and saving a group if pics or video it is fine and for the price fantastic.』 『Seagate external desktop drives provide extra storage for your ever-growing collection of files. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Absolutely perfect costume for Star Wars Fan!) 『Thank you my son was begging to be a trooper for Halloween. Thanks for the low price on this costume, we made a little boy very happy.』
(GOOD MASK) 『My Son LOVES the mask, he's been playing with it since it arrived. The costume material is very thin for over clothes so I'd recommend getting a size bigger if you live in cold weather to go over bulky warm clothes. 』
(great item for this age) 『This product was exactly what my son wanted; it fit well and was a good price.』
(Great Dress Up Fun) 『My son asked for this for Christmas and was thrilled to get it. The costume fit great and has stood up to daily wear and a few washings. It provides great dress up fun. Many hours of tv have been avoided!』
(awesome, simple costume) 『This was a great costume for my 7 year old son. It was easy to get in and out of and the mask was very cool.』 『Includes: Mask, Jumpsuit/Boot Covers. This is an officially licensed Star WarsTM costume.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Misleading advertising) 『The photo of this product is very misleading in reference to the toddler sizes. The zigzag does not go entirely around the shirt. It stops about 2 inches from the seam on both sides. I called the company to complain and they said that it does for the adult version but not for the kids. I returned this product and I was very disappointed in the false advertising.』
(AWESOME) 『THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWESOME. THE PRODUCT ARRIVED PRIOR TO SCHEDULED DELIVERY AND WAS WELL PACKAGED AND THE PRODUCT WAS UNDAMAGED. I WILL BE ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. THANK YOU 』
(Zigzag is only on front and back, not sides.) 『Cute shirt over all. Took longer then date estimated by Amazon to arrive. Zigzag is not continuous- it's only on the front and back. The shirt looks a little funny because of it. It's better then no shirt at all, though.』
(Very cute, but a little different than pictured.) 『Ordered this shirt in 2T for a larger 6 month old baby, since that was the smallest size available. I haven't given it to him yet, but it appears as if he would be able to fit into it now, so I would say they do run a bit small. The shirt looks great, but the zig zag ends before the sides of the shirt in the front and back instead of wrapping all the way around like shown in the picture. It's not really a big deal to me, but thought it might be worth mentioning.』
(Loved this!) 『We bought this for my two-year-old son for Halloween; he has a great big head and we've been told since he was born that he looks like Charlie Brown! He looked so adorable. He loved it, and he still wears it all the time. He loves all the attention he gets when he wears this shirt. It's well made and the colors are bright.
Highly recommended.』 『Be like Chuck! This cotton t-shirt features the same zig-zag style stripe on solid yellow that our favorite bad luck guy wore.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Nice robe, but nothing with it) 『Happy with the quality of this, but for the price, it should come with a wand or a built in collar/tie. It does come with a little clasp. Leave room in the Halloween budget for a wand, button up white shirt&tie, if you don't have them. We were worried at first, because we had ordered the appropriate size (8) for our 8 year old daughter, but when we opened the box, the package said for ages 5 - 7. It is plenty big enough/long enough though. I think it would be dragging the ground on a 5 year old.』
(Nice costume - great quality) 『The product is very nice felt type material - actually will be like a nice jacket on a cool brisk halloween night. Quality is better than expected for a mail order costume. Nothing like the cheap "don't get near a fire" material you find on racks at stores. I would highly recommend spending the few extra bucks to get this over the entry level costume (although I personally have not seen that one, I don't think they could make it much nicer than this for about $30). It is especially worth the extra $ if your child plays dress up or is the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world and will wear it night and day.』
(Harry Potter child robe) 『We were very pleased with this version of the Harry Potter Children's Robe. It was worth the price. It was made nice for a Halloween costume. (a nice fleece like material) My son loves it. The only thing that didn't work was the clip to hold it together, but that was not a big deal and an easy fix.』
(Really nice costume) 『I bought this for my grandson for Christmas and he loved it. He didn't take it off all day. It was much nicer fabric than I expected and put together very well. I also got him the glasses and the broom and he had a blast.』
(sizes run small) 『This is a very nicely made robe of warm fleece (although my daughter said she wished she had the cheaper, thinner version like her friend!). The sizes are off, though, so although I assumed a medium would fit my 9-year-old daughter, it was too small. I returned it to get a large, even though that sounded way too big. It fits great.』 『Join the house of Gryffindor with this authentic robe. This robe is lined in purple, features a hood, front clasp and the crest of the House of Gryffindor. A great Halloween costume!』
