Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (You Talk About a Day...) 『"I'm not even supposed to be here today", says Dante, an overworked counter jockey who, like you probably know, has to deal with every single bad customer known to man, as well as angst, love problems, and the general feeling that nothing is going the way that he wants. Who would have thought that such a seemingly mundane topic and premise turned into something like this. Clerks is proof that screenplays are what makes a movie so great. The black and white look really fades when your watching the movie, as you forget it's in black and white. Forget the fact that it's low-budget, it's a high quality piece of work, a good example of what to make in a movie, especially for a young aspiring film-maker.
Clerks is a day in the life of Dante Hicks, a store worker who is called in on Saturday, to his dismay, which is supposed to be his day off. It's easy to see why he's dreading work, as being a worker at a ______ grocery store in New Jersey isn't exactly working at Apple designing the next iPod or making a movie at Pixar Studios (have you seen the studio of Pixar?). But dealing with rude customers is hardly the point here, as the characters go on beyond the typical rude stuck up jerk that treats the store clerks like garbage, These people deal drugs, be annoying jocks, and die in the bathroom (as well as violate his ex-girlfriend). Along the way, Dante and his wisecracking (and totally awesome) friend Randal hang out, play hockey (by closing the store), deal with their love lives (very important!), and even go to wake (with disasterous outcome)
What makes Clerks so great is the script. That script. It has a lot of hilarious jokes and one-liners abound, but I think the dialogue is just well written. It's sometimes random, and often references pop culture and features heated arguments about the things that matter most in life: Sci-fi, $#%, and confrontation of problems. And the conversations that they have are absolutely great, totally hilarious. It's kind of like what makes Tarantino dialogue great, although different, the comparisons are pretty accurate as far as quality. No wonder Tarantino himself has been a fan of his works, as he publically expresses his admiration for Smith in one way or another (Smith invited him to a screening of Clerks 2 before it was released).
Oh, and the characters are absolutely amazing and nearly impossible not to like, or laugh at. These characters are all part of a universe, and they are all very memorable. These are the kind of people you wish were real so you could hang out them. Dante is angsty yet pretty understandable protagonist, and despite his whinery, you still like him anyway. Same goes for both Veronica and Caitiln. Of course, Randal is my favorite, a wise-cracking, and all around awesome person, the type of person that lives to Po and offend other people and knows why it's so fun. The way he talks to some people make him my own personal hero. And there's the idiots who come in to the store. As mentioned before, you don't deal with generic customers. Anti-smoking gum advertisers, the most annoying type of jock on planet, a prude (boy did I want to punch this guy in the face), and an old man who dies while....nevermind. I also love the montage of idiot customers with the stupidest questions, that make you just laugh ("What would you get for a six year old boy who chronically wets his bed") Can't forget Jay and Silent Bob either, the two hilarious stoners, one who knows how to love fast and the other who has plenty words of wisdom when the time comes.
It also has some good messages about being a teenager. I'm not too fond and don't let movies tell me what I should think and I don't let them shape my viewpoints. But I just can't help but agree with what Randal says about the situation that Dante, and probably many of us, have been in. I feel the ending (I'll try not to spoil it) really is a great one, much better than the alternative ending, which is an immature ending and ruins the whole message of the movie, whatever it is. It shows that you really can't let angst and problems get you down, and it ends on a good note to send out the movie and really represents a good solution to the many problems faced when in the situation of Dante.
In the end, Clerks doesn't rely on anything regarding style, atmosphere, or any other parts of film-making, Clerks is made thanks to colorful characters, a great script, and some interesting messages. Another thing is that it makes me actually like the characters a lot, a whole lot, soemthing movies with such ordinary people have trouble doing, because, after there all, they are fictional. Besides some great songs in the movie, there is no other gimmicks behind it. Clerks really is a movie with situations that make you want to watch, like the characters, and laugh at the many idiots this movie displays. Really, this is a great comedy movie, and it's worth watching to this day.

Brilliant independent cult comedy which marked the debut of writer-director-actor Kevin Smith is one of the 90's best and original comedies. Here this movie gives us original characters that no one will forget including the live-action equalant to Beavis and Butt-Head known as Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) and Jay (Jason Mews) who are badass stoner characters. I love how the clerks in this movie are speaking to each other about movies including on which Star Wars is better and how they goof around when they are suppose to work. The film is very funny but it does contain very vulger language that aren't for virgin ears but however this comedy surely isn't for everyone.

(version differences) 『I already owned the plain version of this, released in 2001. The only extra on that version is the original theatrical trailer.
I just bought the "Gold Medal Edition", released 2006, because it was cheap and it had some extras that I didn't have on the other disc. (I haven't watched those extras yet, so I won't be reviewing them here.)
However, I noticed something very interesting. I played them side-by-side, using two computers with identical monitors that are calibrated identically. I noticed several differences in quality. Then I switched the DVDs to the opposite computers and played some of it again to verify that it had nothing to do with the monitors or computer settings.
The Gold Medal Edition runs 1hr:37min:17sec -- 97min, as advertised on the back of the case. The plain 2001 version runs 1:41:24, also as advertised on the back of its cover (it rounds up to 1:42). This doesn't seem to be from a difference in content, though. When playing them side-by-side, starting them off in perfect sync, they quickly become unsynchronized (ironic, considering the content... synchronized skating...). The Gold Medal Edition runs faster than the 2001 version. (The physical DVD itself isn't running faster; it's the way the film was transferred during production of the DVDs.) IMDB claims 1:41 running time (101min), which would suggest the 2001 version is correct; however, I don't know where IMDB got that data -- whether it matches the actual theatrical release or not.
Also, the Gold Medal Edition is _not_ anamorphic. So if you have a 16:9 TV (like an HDTV), unless your DVD player or TV automatically compensates, you'll actually get letterboxing both on the top/bottom AND on the left/right. The 2001 version is anamorphic, so there's a good chance it will look better than the Gold Medal Edition on 16:9 TVs.
Finally, the color balance is different, and the 2001 version looks more correct. One major thing I noticed is that when they're on the ice and/or wearing white, the whites look cleaner, brighter, and more white on the 2001 version. Whites on the Gold Medal Edition look yellow by comparison, and even a tiny bit green.
The picture looks cleaner, brighter, better color-balanced, and just better in general on the 2001 release.
If you can't find another version, the Gold Medal Edition is still ok, and you might want to buy that if you want the extras. But I'd recommend the 2001 version if you can find it, especially if you're picky about quality. The 2001 version has a fairly plain cover, with plum/purple text for the title. The cover doesn't mention anything about any kind of special edition. And the back cover will say "1 hour 42 minutes". (The Gold Medal Edition says "Gold Medal Edition" at the top, has white title text, and says "Approx. 97 Minutes" on the back.)』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Get it!) 『Astroglide has really made a name for itself since its introduction in 1991, and it is now one of the top-selling personal lubricants. Well, it's easy to see why! Astroglide is a water-based lubricant, which means that it is friendly to your body, your toys and your condoms, and it is easy to clean up.
Also, some lubricants I have run across have a very odd or bitter taste, which can be distracting during one-on-one time, but Astroglide has a bittersweet taste that, while not great, is definitely not bad. So, if you want a great water-based lube, then join the throng, and get Astroglide! I highly recommend it!!
FYI: In general, there are three types of lubricants and each has its pros and cons. (Good book - but its technical/scientific) 『I was a little torn with how to rate this book. I give it just 4 stars out of 5 because I expected a book that was generally "for parents" and not for the medical/psychology area. On the back of the book it states "And she offers parents and teachers concrete ways to help. Presenting the latest science regarding development from birth to puberty, ..." I zeroed in on the first part - "parents". However, the latter part is more true, she focuses a lot on science. However, I love research and analyzing, so I feel this book was helpful.
Pros: * Makes footnotes available on the page when needed - this is helpful to expand on the thought or background. * This is research based and not just what she feels like or pulls out of a hat (although I do believe you can get enough research material to build a case any way you want) * @ 83 pages of Notes and Bibliography at the end. I love this! If I want more information, I feel like I could dig further if I wanted to. * Fairly easy to pick up and jump in at various points - you don't have to read cover to cover.
Cons: * 18 pages of introduction - just get to the point * seems to linger on topics and points to various research - just make the point * this seems more technical than I thought it was going to be when I selected the book. I bet it could be even more technical if she wanted it to be - its at least readable for those of us not in Science/Medicine.
My recommendation: It depends. If you like details/analytics - go for it. If you are looking for an easy-to-read Parent book - this is not for you.

(pink&blue is little murky) 『Clearly Dr. Eliot wants to add more light and subtract some heat from the ever popular issues of gender differences, and she clearly wants what is best for birth sexes, and is not counting up the wrongs committed against one gender or the other. On the other hand I think she has two visions before her and they don't combine well. On the one hand she used the analogy whereby she compared to gender socialization to learning different languages, and then a few pages later points out the huge overlap on psychological tests and experiments where boys and girls are tested. She seems to be saying that socialization has this large effect making boys and girls really different, but on the other hand they are really not that different. It is my impression that this does not create insurmountable cognitive dissonance because she places the not that different into the nature basket, and the boys and girls speak different languages into the nurture basket, and somehow the same critical mind she brings to nature, has a kind of double standard when reviewing the nurture studies. I think her approach struggles with understanding the misery of children raised contrary to their brain sex if socialization was as nearly all powerful as she suggests. I am no expert in this area but was surprised to find a simple search uncovered a number of articles on the differences between the corpus callosum in neonates, and Dr. Eliot was quite emphatic that such differences could not be found.』
