This is the funniest gay movie I have ever seen. Please don't go by some critics say, just see it for yourself. If you like American Pie then you will love this. This is just plain dirty!!! That is what make sit so great! It has some sexy actors with sexy bodies. take it from me, this is the one to see if you are not a prude and want a great laugh!!!!!!! The title of the film and the cast would seem to portend a fun and interesting movie. Alas, this is not the case. The story line is such an over-used one, with quirky patches, and the acting is barely adequate. What a waste of such a talent as Scott Thompson. I was disappointed in the film from beginning to end and actually had to almost discipline myself to watch it to the end, since I had purchased it. After considering it, I later decided to watch it again, and my reaction hadn't changed, but knowing what was coming seemed to make the movie even more insipid. Sure it had gay archetypes(stereotypes if you wanna be p.c.), a few overzealous actors, and a little too much "camp"...granted these are all things I hate, but I enjoyed it. It was not a bad movie, but if you like bad movies like I do, then you'll love the fact that some movies are so bad, they actually are better for it. Maybe I'm biased because I like Jonathan Chase and his Jim Carreyesque ability to try really hard to make you like him( see "Gingerdead Man"), but I never got douche chills at any point during this film. If you want a good laugh this is a great movie. I think I laughed for alot of it. Alot of nudity to. Can't wait for the sequel. Hopefully it'll be as good as this one. I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!! IT was Funny and if "Michael Carbonaro" wasn't in the film it would not have been as funny. If they ever make a part two. (FUN!!!!!) (cool movie) (Classic iconic flick) Diane Lane is amazing. She is raw, and real and full of fire. This movie, as old as it is, is NEVER just phoned in. It shows the reality of touring on the bus, the reality of how rabid fans can be, and how things change quickly, and not for the better sometimes. And there is Fee Wayback as a washed up rock star, still touring. If you want to see the reality of rock, and see Diane Lane, stunningly beautiful (as always), this is the movie! 5 stars! Wow. The fact that I have not even SEEN this film for 25 years, and I still remember it, I think speaks volumes about the power that this film had at that time. I was 13, and I saw it on Night Flight. Taped it on the BETAMAX and watched it repeatedly until it accidentally got erased the next summer. Every 10 years or so I would be reminded of it and try to find it, and lo and behold, it's HERE! I am beside myself with nostalgia *sniff* and can't wait to see it again!!!! Great movie, about time it's on DVD? Picture quality is a little weak, but it's an old movie, I doubt they remasted it. Ive always been a fan of diane lane but I havnt seen this movie in years so glad to see it on dvd OK, I am not a grrrl or part of that movement but Stains stands well as a period flick from the 80s. I really enjoyed the movie (both watches) and found it easy to watch and enjoyed the undercurrents and hidden/clear meanings from 20 years hence. Besides in-fighting, the few previews shown to the public were unanimously panned, Paramount was at a loss as to how to market it, and the movie had never been available on DVD (or VHS, for that matter). This has just compounded its status as a "lost" film, with the few people who have seen it being evangelical in their gossip about this pseudo punk 'n' roll documentary. Now that it's here, was it worth the wait? Does it hold up over time? You bet it does. Orphaned girls (Diane Lane, Marin Kanter) along with their cousin (Laura Dern) channel their frustration into a band, The Stains. After a few gigs, the media picks up what they consider a novelty. This leads to a tour with The Looters--idealistic punks from London--and the Metal Corpses (headed by Fee Waybil of the Tubes in a perfectly oblivious performance). Head Looter takes head Stain under his wing, only to become disillusioned as he watches the American media, and by extension American teens, chose popularity over talent (as he sees it). Despite their differing views about how the movie should be handled, both the message of girl empowerment (screenwriter Nancy Dowd) and the idea that all great ideas become co-opted and watered-down (director Lou Adler) resonate throughout the film. The performances, while not uniformly great, work so well within the context of the documentary style that they have their own charm. And Diane Lane, as Stain leader Corinne "Third Degree" Burns, is simply outstanding, simmering with angst that bursts out at all the right points. A young Ray Winstone turns in a fine performance as the lead singer of the Looters, showing both contempt and sensitivity towards the fledgling Stains. Adding to its cult credentials, the rest of the Looters are played by Steve Jones and Paul Cook (Sex Pistols) and Paul Simenon (The Clash). Just received the disc&finished watching the film. From my unofficial opinion if you have the standard dvd keep it, the blue ray version is only a slight improvement. I took away 1 star because there are dirt spots that shows up here&there through out the film. It appears that Somerhouse did not have the original master print to transcribe the film to blue ray to completely remove all the imperfections in the film. Also the film was shot in soft focus so there is only so much room for upgrade in image quality. In closing if you have the standard dvd then stay with it but if you have extra $20.00 to spare then get the blue ray. This products was rated relatively high on a Consumer Reports report on female libido enhancers and had a ton of feedack on Amazon (where is it now???). So, I decided to try it and diligently followed instructions and took this thing for at least 6 weeks and saw absolutely nothing. This thing is also a rip off because it says you have to wait 6 weeks to see results and one bottle is not even enough, so you have to buy at least two bottles before you figure out if it even works. So, $70 later, I'm still in the same rut I was in 2 months ago. If anything, I have a feeling this may have messed a bit with my digestive system because I've been experiencing a lot of abdominal pain in the last month or two. In conclusion, I would not recommend this product and the company producing this, should at least offer a money back guarantee. That's something I'm going to look for next. After 2 weeks of taking this product at 1 pill/day and no change in libido, I started having horrible abdominal pains and diarrhea. I thought it was either the stomach flu or something I ate, but it lasted for days after I stopped taking Fematril. My doctor had me tested and suspected gallstones, but an ultrasound showed nothing. A week and a half later, after the pain went away, I tried it again at full dosage: 3pills/day. Took the product as directed, 3 pills a day for two months. Did not increase nor enhance my waning libido. Felt tiny spikes of desire here and there, but overall this product did nothing for me.
