I've had it for over a year now, and the comments that people make about it never get old. If I could give it less that a 1 I would. Save the 20.00 and just use your imagination. As far as the real life couples, they may be real but they are porn actors. What guy would stray if he's getting sex in every room of the house?? This series has a lot of female appeal, but it's also perfect for couples' viewing because men will dig the sex scenes. My husband and I both enjoyed watching this. Hot but not sleazy, it's a great lead-in to a "night in" instead of a night out. It offers good information presented in a loving way and the couples are cute and sexy. I have checked out most of the Loving Sex DVDs and find them to be both informative and stimulating. I am definitely looking forward to future releases. It's not that we don't find porn vids great to watch occasionally, but the Alexander Institute just seems to hit our particular buttons a little better. No disrespect to the silicone-enhanced professionals, but something about real couples in (at least perceptible) situations just causes our libidos to soar. And after setting the bar extremely high with the six hour Sexual Secrets, we popped this one into the DVD player expecting quite a bit. And though it isn't six hours long and contains a scene or two from the aforementioned title (or is it the other way around?), this video again delivers the goods with attractive participants, realistic situations, and HOT sex scenes. Though Julie Ashton and Charlie are noted porn actresses, they share their scenes with their actual significant others (in Charlie's case - her husband) and really look like they're enjoying themselves every minute. It's all filmed lovingly and respectfully. The first scene takes place in the kitchen with Julie and her lover engaging in foreplay using kitchen utensils and the countertop as their choice landing pad for intercourse. This leads into a living room discussion about sexual creativity with common household items with four couples, before Charlie and her husband share some quality time in the laundry room with a feather duster and a washing machine. A living room adventure, another short discussion, Julie and friend in a closet, and finally some office play and a hot Jacuzzi session finish this great title off. Maybe we're just jaded or burned out on porn videos. Double penetration, scars under huge fake breasts, close ups that are a bit TOO close for our taste; these things are thankfully avoided in this title. Best of all, we rarely finished any scenes before practicing our own "sex around the house." This was just like a porno, I could not believe the people on the DVD were married or a couple for that matter. The men in the video sounded dumb, but if you are a woman you will find the men as eye candy and if you were in a relationship you would want the men to just shut up and get to business without saying a word ..lol..and if you are a man the women are above average- but the people that make these DVDs are not going to put unattracted couples in these, after all they want you to watch it; it is not worth the full price...get it used if you buy it. Reviewed by: Katie Rose `Sex Around the House' is one in the `Loving Sex' series, instructional videos designed to help couples through different aspects of sexuality. If you've never watched an instructional video this is going to be an interesting adventure. Since I wasn't sure what to expect from this video, my partner and I debated on getting comfortable or making a pizza before watching the festivities. Since this technically was work, we decided on the pizza which I threw in the oven, grabbed my notebook, then hit the play button. It opened with a sort of `man on the street' scene in which a woman was asking passersby what they would do with assorted household objects - a rolling pin, a spatula, a feather duster, and much to my partner's horror clothes pins. While the people were hesitant to offer uses for these items, they came up with some typical and humorous responses. From there it took us to the actual introduction where Julie Ashton, a bright and blonde woman is seated at a sofa interviewing Dr. Ava Cadell. Dr. Cadell is one of the nation's leading sexologists. She was dressed professionally, had dark hair, and if I thought Julie was bubbly, Dr. Cadell bubbled over with enthusiasm for the subject matter. Sex Around the House - is about finding new sexual pleasures right at home. Julie goes on to invite Dr. Cadell into her home. She explains that she is having several couples over for the weekend and that she'd love the Doctor to give them a personal lesson. The doctor agrees, and we then are transported to Julie's home. What follows is the introduction of Julie's friends to Dr. Cadell who goes on to show the same items that were offered to the people on the street. She again asks for suggested use, but then offers a few ideas of her own -along with a warning that items used for sexual purposes should not be used for everyday purposes. The strangest had to have been the pasta spoon. The doctor suggests that you can use it by rubbing it lightly up and down your partner's body or stroking it through their hair. She encourages the group to look at everything in their home as a potential sex object. Think about how the object can heighten your senses. After the doctor leaves, the video goes through a series of scenes showing each of the couples as the have sex utilizing Dr. Cadell's advice - sex in the laundry, the kitchen, the bathroom, the office, even a closet. The most novel idea I thought was by using the phone to call your partner in another area of the house and then engage in some foreplay phone sex. Obviously, not everyone has a home as well put together at Julies. Rooms dedicated as an office/workout room or a sunken tub in their bathroom are not the norm, but I could see how the concept could be adapted to any household. For the entire day after I watched the video, I couldn't help but look twice at every item that I picked up. Besides the main part of the video, the DVD offers additional sex tips from Dr. Patti Britton, sexuality information, links to important sites and a bonus scene from one of the other Loving Sex programs. What does it all add up to? Each of the couples seemed to be actually enjoying themselves. There was banter between each other, none of the `do me now!' type of porno. It was very loving and yet very hot to watch - that is not to say that in real life these items don't go hand in hand, but in the world of porn it's almost nonexistent. Since I'm not an expert in determining when a woman has had an orgasm just by looking at her, I couldn't tell if they truly had, but they did look excited and into what they were doing, not just going through the motions. And when the guys climaxed it looked real. No money shots here! I liked this video and I would recommend it to couples that are looking to expand their lovemaking beyond the boundaries of their bed. Even if you never have sex outside of the bedroom, the items you bring to your bed will help to enhance and heighten your sexual experience. By the way, the pizza went uneaten. I recently bought the 20 track version(accurately listed on Amazon) for a reasonable price, and I'm very happy with it. It contains all of Never Mind..., plus other great tracks. I had Never Mind... on vinyl, and this is the perfect, updated, replacement (or supplement - I'd never get rid of my vinyl albums). A great buy, and the only Sex Pistols CD I'll ever need. Ideally yes, this is better than Nevermind The Bollocks in terms of giving you all the essential Pistols tracks (if you get the imported 20 track version versus the 17 track version). That being said, some change in mastering must have occurred between this and the latest cd release of Bollocks because these tracks sound a little hollow ("tinny") compared to that CD. Truthfully, the difference is not enough to bother anyone except for more astute or intense fans who are used to the sound of the songs already. So, if you're a newcomer to the Pistols, this is a great start and possibly finish to your collection. If you're already a fan and just want everything in one place, maybe not so much. Plus, it's the edited version of "No Fun", which just sort of cuts off at the end. Wish they would just sell the first disc of the boxed set separately. For some unknown reason this band produced some fantastic songs that stand the test of time.Problem is they were not around long enough,and not enough songs were made.Some will argue but to me the songs are inspirational,and can get you fired up.Now their songs do have emotion in them.Its like they realy meant what they said.The best song is Bodies.Yes i know it has not got the geatest lyrics,the subject is unusual to make a song about - abortion.But the way he sings that song,its just amazing and it realy gets to me,and when its finished you have to play it again.That song gets me going in the morning,when you just want to go back to bed.Holidays In The Sun is another great song,man that is a great song.The whole album of Bollocks was a sensation.Pretty Vacant was a hit from Bollocks and is another great song.A track that is missing from here is lonely Boy by Steve Jones.He did the bulk of guitars on Bollocks after Glen Matlock left.Sid did not play too well and hardly did anything on it.He has a tune here called My Way.Great song,hard to follow his accent without the lyrics.He did have another 2 songs not here on the Swindle which could have been put here -Something Else and Come On Everybody.But realy there is the best of them here.Its realy sad Sid died so young,but in reality he didnt contribute that much musicly to them.I have 2 concerts from their American tour in 1978.They were great shows,but you find that you end up milking the well for more Pistols tracks,there simply is not enough.Another favorite song of mine is New York,i love that tune just brilliant.No Feelings and Liar are also great tracks.There is not one bad song here. Beware that there are two prices for what appears to be the same CD, and both advertise the same track listings on Amazon. I paid $28.99, thinking I would get an expanded version, yet there is a $15.49 price for what appears to be the same CD. The $28.99 product is NOT a two CD set. I think the merchant needs to clarify what is exactly on both versions and not advertise the same version at two different prices. It's very confusing because the labels are identical. Hence the three stars. Other than that, my version has all my favorites except for "Friggin in the Rigger," but not the extras some customers mentioned. Sound quality could be better; it's a little muffled, but much better than my old cassettes and the nostalgia is well worth it. A great tension releaser/tonic. Don't know if the the $15.49 version is any better, but I don't want to futz with an exchange. One needs only two Sex Pistols' albums: "Never Mind the Bollocks" and "Rock n Roll Swindle." There's just nothing out there that even remotely resembles the Pistols' version of 'Roadrunner' ("Steve, wait...wait....I don't know the f'n words!") and the pieces by Jones and Cook are excellent, and a great preview of their work together in The Professionals. For those who wish to go deeper, in addition to "Swindle" and "Bollocks," I'd recommend John Lydon's first album with PIL featuring "Religion I&II," ("Fat pig priest, sanctimonious smile...") along with PIL's greatest hits or Metal Box, also any work Lydon did with Leftfield, e.g. "Open Up"; anything by The Professionals is great ("I Didn't See It Coming"), and the soundtrack to 'Sid&Nancy' if only for the atmosphere provided by Pray for Rain and The Pogues. (By the way, if interested, you can probably find a few clips of Steve Jones and The Professionals in action on YouTube. Highly entertaining.) Additionally, the band sounds great on "Filthy Luchre Live" and the two DVD documentaries "Never Mind The Bollocks" and "The Filth and the Fury" are worthy, although the "Bollocks" DVD is superior, in my view, deconstructing the making of the album, featuring interviews with band and producers. Lastly, for Steve Jones completists, check out his stint with the Neurotic Outsiders and his first solo album, "Mercy," which is something of a lost masterpiece. (Please Amazon, more pertinent reviews) (good) (Casablanca- A Movie that Everyone MUST Watch) (Casablanca) The picture quality of this release of Casablanca is amazing. It is clearly the best quality ever made available to the public. (I'm anxious to read reviews of the new Blu-Ray release to learn whether there is any meaningful improvement over this fantastic version.) Many believe "Casablanca" was the greatest movie of the 20th century. Its ending is perhaps the most moving of any movie. In the course of the film, the cynical, self-interest hero (Rick) gradually develops to a point where he realizes his own interests are outweighed by the monumental events overtaking the world in the 1940s: "Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid." So this cynical man who "sticks his neck out for no one", in the end, gives up the love of his life so as to make a direct contribution to defeating the Nazis. It is my understanding that the new Blu-Ray set contains all the special fearures of this one, but also has a 2nd disc (in standard definition) -- a feature on "Jack Warner - The Last Mogul", but that can also be purchased separately elsewhere. The Blu-Ray set will also include: 48-Page Photo Book, 10 One-Sheet Reproduction Cards, Archival Correspondence, and Exclusive Passport Holder and Luggage Tag. To me those special features aren't really of much interest. As far as the Blu-Ray movie picture quality, I think there's a limit as to how much improvement you can get on these old b&w films. I believe if you have a quality 1080p television, a good upconverting DVD player, and a good sound system, the quality you get in this set under review is as good as even the most demanding viewer needs. BUT, I am anxious to read reviews of the Blu-Ray set. Another concern I have about Blu-Ray is that if you have a Blu-Ray player that remembers where the film left off, that feature doesn't work with all Blu-Ray DVDs. For the ones using Java coding, it doesn't remember. With those, when you hit "stop" you have to start again from the very beginning, including all the copyright stuff, previews, etc. However, if your player has the "remember" feature it works with this standard definition DVD - a great convenience. Another thing about Blu-Ray is that the picture quality is really quite hit or miss. Some are great for the most part (and many have at least some grainy scenes) and some are absolutely terrible (see "Oceans" 11, 12 and 13). Who knows how "Casablanca" will look in Blu-Ray. I know I am as happy as can be with the quality in this set. But I have no idea how it will be with Blu-Ray, and I can't imaging it could be very significantly better than this, but let's hear some Blu-Ray reviews! With the new Blu-Ray versions of old classics, it may be time for Amazon to rethink how it publishes their reviews, normally one of the things I like most about their store! When I heard Casablanca was coming out in Blu-Ray, my first thought was, "I wonder if Blu-Ray has anything to offer to an old Black and White film, or is it just a marketing ploy?" So, I go to Amazon, look up the BLU-RAY VERSION of Casablanca, and find 536 reviews telling me that Casablanca is one of the best movies of all times. Great! I know that! What I want to know is, does the Blu-Ray edition offer me any viewing advantages over my current DVD of this movie? How about limiting the reviews to only those who can add something of value to the specific edition being evaluated. Otherwise, with all the new Blu-Ray versions that are going to come out, we are left with old news and nothing of value as we contemplate spending (big!)bucks to possibly replace movies we already own! Fast ship. No problems with the shipping, but I guess I need to make sure the next time I order, that when I correct the number (total) from 2 to 1, that the web site corrects it too. Didn't need two of this item, but I paid for them, and accepted the order, even though I had changed it to say only 1, not two. I'll never make that mistake again. After editing, we must all make sure it really edits the number. Casablanca is perhaps considered one of the best well-done and most-respected movies of all time. Before I even watched the film, I knew that I would love it from start to finish. So if you are sitting at home wondering what movie to watch, I recommend Casablanca because you will not be disappointed. Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart both do an amazing job in this film. Also this Academy Award winner for Best Picture clearly deserves a round of applause. Perfect film for families, couples, or anyone who wants to enjoy a good movie. Next time you are at Blockbuster or ordering off of NETFLIX, choose Casablanca as your next movie to watch. Casablanca is generally considered to be on of the greatest films of all time. After watching it i can certainly some evidence for it but i'm not sure if i would necessarily hold it in that high regard. I think a large part of my opinions of this movie come from the fact that it is an older movie and many movies have been influenced directly from it. Watching in today, much of the story, particularly the romance, seemed comical simply because i had seen it used so often. Admittedly, before i saw it i was expecting to not like it at all but luckily i did enjoy most of it. First and foremost i really appreciated the writing. The dialogue, especially between Rick and captain Renault, was both entertaining and intelligent. I found myself enjoying the political intrigue in the film much more than the romance. I was certainly impressed with this movie. Mostly because of the writing and setting. though I wouldn't call this the greatest film ive ever seen it does deserve most of the credit it receives.
