First of all the unit does not come with instructions in English. Its hard to read because of small fonts but the unit will lite up the display, which helps a lot. The contrast is a problem also. You should have the ability to control contrast. You might but without instructions, forget it. It has merit but for the money paid, try else where
I bought this to give as a gift for Christmas.

I just heard from the person I gave it to, they complained that it comes with instructions in a bunch of languages but none of them was English!

Otherwise I'd have probably given this item 5 stars...
This was another handheld I purchased during the holidays and I really enjoy this particular unit. Game play is very easy. You pretty much use your thumbs to control everything. Buttons are fluid and easy to use. The coolest part about this unit (for me anyway) is the screen. You can turn on so that it glows in the dark. There are different color squares that illuminate so you know which grid is which. Very cool and nice touch.

I have already recommended to other friends and they enjoy it as well. Good job.
Pro: easy to visualize the numbers on the screen.
Cons:The biggest negaTIVE draw back is that the keys are not very sensitive. You have to push very hard and often multiple times to get a response. This is very frustrating- the help keys does not help at all. Do not buy it ,IT IS A WASTING MONEY.

I got this same game at Walgreens (for $5.00) and it has worked fine for me. The only con is that it doesn't have a backlight. A backlight would be nice for home use (not enough light in my house!).

The puzzles in this book are well made. I haven't found any errors, as in many other brands of puzzles. The puzzles are clearly labeled by level of difficulty, and they are consistently rated correctly. I have had hours of fun with this volume of books, and look forward to many other variations available from djape. Thank you for a great book!
I loved this book! I was getting bored with killer Sudoku because all the other books were too easy. This one was really hard and challenging! I would spend a day or two on one puzzle. I would recommend this to all the die hard killer sudoku fans!!!
As a veteran of killer sudoku, I found this volume to be quite engaging. It offers a range of skill levels, but few so simple that they aren't enjoyable at the right moment. And then there are the new challenges: diagonal killer sudokus and blank killer sudokus. Cool stuff.

Easy to use. Very ggod puzzles. DJAPE has the best killer sudoku books!
If you enjoyed Djape's "Killer Sudoku" you will also love this book. I've tried a couple of puzzles at each level and managed (very slowly in some cases) to complete them all except for level 5 zero killer sudoku. In the zero puzzles there are only a few cages and a lot of empty space - REALLY hard, and great fun.
In general I think the puzzles (except for the zero puzzles) are slightly easier than in his last book, or maybe I'm just get used to his fiendish ways?

I had never done a sudoku puzzle so I bought this book and loved it. So much so that I'm now online to get my next Vorderman Sudoku book.

Her method takes you through 4 levels of difficulty explaining techniques for solving at each level and diagramming solutions as they are worked out.

She also has scores for the puzzles which adds a little spice. For example, if your time is less than X minutes you get Y points, etc. The harder the puzzles the longer you have to solve them, but the times are often pretty challenging.

Interestingly, I found that I trusted Carol to provide solvable puzzles. Some of the books I've picked up have puzzles that don't seem to be solvable - one of them even had wrong anwers in the back, i.e. the grid in the answers didn't match the grid given for the puzzle.

I recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn how to solve Sudoku puzzles.

This is a great sudoku book for all levels, but especially good for those who wish to increase their sudoku proficiency and MASTER sudoku. There are 200 puzzles, only one to a page, printed large enough for marking up. There are places to record your time, too, and you can accrue points based on how quickly you can do a puzzle. This is nice, because although I prefer difficult puzzles now, it's fun to go back and do an easy one faster and faster. There are different techniques involved in the different levels of puzzles and timing them makes them all continue to be challenging.

If you're a beginner, you can start out with the easy puzzles and work your way up. There are medium puzzles, too, as well as difficult and super-difficult. There is plenty of technique instruction, and there are many examples, so this could serve as a first book for adults. It was not my first sudoku book, but it is still one of my favorites, and I find myself going back to it again and again.

Good basics. A good springboard, and you can go to more advanced techniques later. Her favorite epressions are "slicing and dicing." Took a while for me to figure out that all she's telling you is to look horizontally, and vertically.
