This is a great toy for all ages from about 8-9 years old. My daughter got it for her 9th birthday. I'm not going to rehash all the other descriptions since others do an adequate job of describing it. I will say that my daughter and I both love the game, and it leads to some fun daddy-daughter times where we discuss how we arrived at the solutions. The only thing I wish they would do is make replacement books with more puzzles. You use up the included set of puzzles pretty quickly, and this game is just as addictive as Sudoku. There's a great income stream there for the manufacturer. Anyway, get it, you won't be sorry!
I bought Chocolate Fix because I wanted to be able to offer my kids a better alternative than TV. I have enjoyed seeing the determined look in my son's eyes as he attemts each new challenge. He is eight and enjoys tackling the intermediate and advanced puzzles. My five year old daughter enjoys the beginner puzzles. It has gotten more use than most of our board games and I would recommend it for parents looking for games that will help develop their children's thinking skills.
My 7 year old girl loves this toy!! And she is learning how to think logically. She is learning the power of deduction. It's awesome!
We have enjoyed the challenges of this game. Some of our family members have mastered the lower challenges and are now working on the hardest challenges.
This toy is fun. You can't eat the pieces, but it's still a great game! I got it for a gift exchange this past Christmas, and it was enjoyed by all after we opened the gifts. I think it would be nice if they came out with a second book of puzzles. No, we haven't finished all of them (especially the advanced ones...) but we would like more for when we do finish them.
Using a box of chocolate as a game board, the player has to decode the pattern on a challenge card to figure out where each type of candy should be placed. Levels range from easy beginner to challenging expert. ThinkFun. Ages: 8+

I am very disappointed in the quality and design of the product. The tile storage drawers fall open when the game is moved, and because of the design of the storage space, the tiles can jam inside the drawer, making it difficult to get all of the tiles out.
I had seen the plastic set by Briarpatch Sudoku Game at a friend's, and wanted one for myself. I ordered the Wood Expressions set (almost twice the cost) because the Briarpatch set was not available in local stores or through Amazon.
In my opinion the Briarpatch set is a much better product, and certainly a better value.
This is a well-constructed and durable game. The manufacturers of wooden sudoku boards seem to provide too few little thinking number squares that go in the number places before a final number is determined for that square. This set provided 9 of each number from 1 through 9. Unless the player is gifted, as I am not, a set of 11 or 12 of each would be more helpful. The trays that hold the numbers in this set swing out when used. That is a nice feature, but means that the tray is not rectangular. That means that compulsive folk cannot arrange the larger square numbers in the angular tray to fill the space in a regular fashion. They fit, but not as neatly as an obsessive compulsive player might like. And who else plays this game?
The Wood Expressions Wooden Sudoku game is well made. It was well protected for shipping. I would highly recommend this company and this product to anyone interested in sudoku.
I purchased this for my father who is 84 years old. He loves to do Sudoku puzzles from the newspapers. This is a nice size-easier for him to work with, and very neat-which my Mom appreciates. He loves it. Toys are not just for children.

Mine works great ive had no issues with it. I love how many puzzles there are and the different degrees of difficulty. great toy...this is my go to gift for xmas this year.
Haven't had a whole lot of time to use this but it seems to be "ok". I still prefer to do KenKen on paper but, as I was traveling overseas, I thought this would at least give me a chance to play. However, I was so busy I never really had a chance to use it. I'm sure it's fine, esp for airplanes, etc.
Bought the game today it works ok but I can only play the game using 4 grids it won't let me go to grid 5 or 6 even after I use the + block no luck.It always goes back to a 4 grid game,the backlight must be punched quite often to keep the light on.To me its not worth the money Im taking the game back to Target tomorrow.To me its the worst electronic game Iv'e ever played.Don J
I'm addicted to KenKen and there aren't nearly as many sources of puzzles as there are for Sudoku, so when I'm desparate, even this lame electronic puzzle is worth having around. Electronic Sudoku is lame too, by the way. Nobody's figured out a way to make the little pencil marks on a teeny tiny screen, so I can't really complain that the pencil marks on this game are not all that helpful.

The biggest complaint I have is with the levels. You have to quit a game in the middle at the current level to be allowed the choice of a new level. And so far, I HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT A WAY TO GET OFF OF 4X4 PUZZLES. I'd really like to do 6X6. Does anybody know how to make it go to 6X6?

Really, this electronic game is a weak interpretation of what you get with pencil and paper. But, still, it's better than nothing. $20 is a lot of money for what you get, but when you're craving KenKen, it's a pretty cheap price to pay to avoid the withdrawal symptoms.
This is much better than the electronic Sudoku games that I have played. After reading the instructions it works great.

It teaches good methods but it's rather skimpy on explanations; 90% of the book is more puzzles. I guess if I read carefully the ad, the main ingredient is 100's of puzzles...
Poor quality of binding, pages come loose easily.
This book has helped me learn new methods for solving some of the harder Sudoku puzzles that have in the past required me to do a "what-if" to break a dead lock. Many of the techniques I already knew, though not by any name, but some of the advanced techniques were totally new to me and help round out my solving skills. Plus there's a lot of good puzzles in the book to practice these techniques.
Wow, on the more difficult puzzles this has been helpful. On my own before purchasing this book I had figured out how to solve many puzzles on my own. This has shown me some shortcuts to use and allows me to practice. Great book, one I would say is worth the money.
This is a good book to learn Sudoku strategies. Good examples and easy to understand. I believe that no one book will give you everything that you need to know and that you should have 2 or 3 books on the subject to get a good understanding. This should be one of those books. I also have Extreme Sudoku for Dummies and between the two it has helped me a lot.
My husband became addicted to Sudoku in Summer 2008 and soon thereafter infected me. We work (individually) on the puzzle published daily in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. This book has a wealth of information about analysis and techniques including some for puzzle situations so rare and exotic they might never be encountered in a lifetime. The explanations are very clear and easy to follow but the book has shortcomings as to format and layout. I would much have preferred to have the explanation of a particular diagram on the same page with the graphic itself rather than having to flip the page back and forth to follow the steps. The book also has hundreds of puzzles to work on, for those for whom once a day is just not enough.

Here it comes: a revolution in sudoku solving! This is by far the most complete guide to cracking these addictive puzzles ever produced, with tricks even the experts won’t know. While most books might have a few pages of introduction before proceeding straight to the sudokus, this one covers it all. Hidden pairs, naked pairs, X-wings, jellyfish, squirmbag, bivalue and bilocation graphs, turbot fish, grid coloring, chains: every single one is here, and much more too, including the exclusive Gordonian logic methods (Gordonian rectangles and Gordonian polygons) that will turn even the hardest puzzles into a breeze. These are the most challenging puzzles I have seen. Each require multiple advanced/diabolical rules in order to solve.

The book is spiral bound, so you can easily rip out the solutions and throw them away. Who cares about solutions. There are dozens of Internet sites that can provide solutions.
I bought the puzzle book for my mom who had complained that another book she purchased that was rated 'difficult' was too easy. Well this book was definitely challenging for her. She also liked the fact that it was spiral bound so that she can turn the pages all the way over.
This series is the best sudoku series available for intermediate and advanced players. The level 4 is close to level 3, but there are more puzzles with difficult linked chains and other advanced techniques. If you have trouble with these you need to buy the Mensa guide to solving sudoku.
I enjoy this book, but strongly suggest not buying it unless you have exhausted/outgrown the other Sudoku books. This is the hardest book I have found by far. I didn't work through levels 1 - 3 (probably should have). The next hardest book I have is "Even Higher Sudoku". The latter might be good to try before moving on to this book.
This is the only Sudoku book I've found where I can't do over half of the puzzles without notes. So if you want to tax your brain a bit and know about Gordian Polygons then this is the sudoku book to buy. Makes the "black belt" and "ultimate ninja" books look easy by comparison. Still all logic and no guessing required.

Top solvers can try their hand at the One-Sided Gordonian Rectangle; Extended Gordonian Rectangle; Gordonian Polygon; and Alternating Digits. (But they can take comfort in knowing that no more than one will occur in any single puzzle.)

(Fun and challenging alternative to Sudoku)

About a year and a half ago, Conceptis released a book of griddlers (Hanjie, paint by numbers) entitled "Paint-Doku." Imagine my joy when they released this travel sized version! The only thing that concerned me was that this one was called "Fill In Paint-Doku." It should have concerned me more than it did, because...

WARNING: THESE ARE NOT HANJIE / GRIDDLER / NONOGRAM PUZZLES. They are what are better known at [...] as Fill-A-Pix puzzles in which you must determine which neighboring squares must be colored in. The game is sort of a pencil and paper minesweeper.

Feeling a bit unsure as to what to do, I thought "Oh well, give them a try, maybe you'll 'get it' and like this too." I'm glad the book doesn't cost any more than it does. I must be the world's biggest idiot, because after the initial phase of x'ing out zeros and shading in 9 squares, I just simply can't get much further along....at least not yet. I found them to be frustrating, annoying, ridiculously lengthy hard puzzles. Difficulty level is another beef of mine with the book; there is NO indication of which puzzles are "easy" and which are "hard", even though you are promised a variety of levels.

All that said, I can see where fans of Fill-A-Pix puzzles would rejoice. The book is great for taking with you in the car, and I can only pray they intend to release a similar travel size version of Hanjie puzzles sometime in the future.
Bored with Sudoku? "Paint-doku" is a fun and challenging alternative. The rules are simple - the numbered boxes in a grid correspond to the number of adjacent boxes that will be shaded - but figuring out which of the adjacent boxes are shaded is a great logic exercise. Not only does it challenge your spatial conception, but it also requires you to weigh options. Conceptis is a great puzzle maker, and the puzzles in this book are very well researched. As you're working a puzzle, you may think you've hit a dead end, but you can be confident that it's because you've made an error or aren't seeing the intersecting clues, not that there aren't sufficient clues in the puzzle itself. This book has over 100 puzzles, and most took me 1-2 hours to complete. Fantastic for long plane flights. At the end of the day, this is really just a complex coloring book for adults - and what could be better than that? I enjoyed most of the puzzles over a very long business trip so much that I'm ordering a second book for my next trip!

In what may be among the most innovative twists on sudoku ever seen, the creative geniuses at Conceptis have literally turned solving puzzles into an art form! Rather than simply figuring out which numbers go where, the solver first uses logic and creative reasoning to choose the correct number to put in each square, and then shades in the corresponding number of squares surrounding it to reveal a surprise picture. For example, the number 6 will be surrounded by six shaded squares. Discovering which six of the eight potential choices are correct adds to the challenge.

I'm a puzzle nut so anytime I find puzzles on the internet I usually have to buy them. This one is great and has a bunch of really fun ones and you can pick them from easy to hard and same shape to very odd! I highly recommend this game to any puzzle crazy person out there!

Up stepped the makers of this puzzle game
And fixing up jigsaws just won't be the same
No need for a table, no pieces to lose
You make them as easy or hard as you choose
Set them up simple for kids who're in training
Or horribly hard for the days when it's raining
And although a million is not quite correct
There's really no reason for you to object
It lets you upload your own pictures you see
Which is awesomely clever, I think you'll agree
Choose your piece thickness and choose your piece style

Pros:
1. No pieces no lose, no tables to commandeer
2. You sort your pieces in "trays" just like you would do on a table. You can have as many trays as you like.
3. No threat of someone messing it up when you're not around. You can save your puzzle and go back to it later.
4. You can set the level of difficulty to suit your mood. There are four levels of difficulty.
5. It even plays music while you work (you can turn it off)
6. Fun for the whole family (unless you upload x-rated photos)

Cons:
1. It's not quite as good as the real thing, but it comes close.
2. When you've played the easy stages with the pieces the right way up and a background image to guide you, it's hard to make yourself graduate to the hard stuff.
3. You can't experience the sweet sensation of finding mistakes, because once a piece is in the right vicinity it jumps gleefully into place, and can't be dislodged. Not sure if you can turn this off, but I'm going to see if I can.
4. There are several categories of puzzle themes, and you need to load each section individually. This is a bit of a pain, as you have to close all IE or Firefox applications to do it.

Recommended for puzzle lovers who are short on puzzle-fixing space, and people who'd like to be able to do puzzles on a laptop while commuting. A great way to utilise some spare time.

I got this CD for my mother and she has really enjoyed puting together the puzzles that it contains, but what she enjoys the most is the fact that she can take her own pictures that she has downloaded onto her computer and create her own puzzles.
I bought this puzzles because I don't like having jigsaw puzzles taking up table space until I can get to it so this solves that problem by saving it. I have vision problems so the fact that you can make the puzzle pieces as large as you need is terrific for any one who has vision issues. You can also decide how many pieces you want your puzzle to be so you determine how easy or difficult it will be. I am happy with the variety of puzzles on this disc. I highly recommend this puzzle for all ages.
My husband and I both enjoy puzzles and have purchased several of the Puzzle Master puzzles. Consequently when I saw the 1,000,000 on the Puzzle cover I was estatic, I expected at least 2 discs of puzzles. My husbands birthday was coming and I wanted to give him something he would enjoy. He has completed every puzzle on the Puzzle Master 1 thru 5 puzzles which we already have. I bought the Puzzle Master 1,000,000. Disappointed is not even close to how I felt...cheated is more like it. There are not even as many puzzles on this particular disc as on previous discs. They want you to make the 1,000,000 puzzles from your own photos. What you really purchased is maybe 100 puzzles and many of these are repeats from other versions of Puzzle Master. I will no longer recommend Puzzle Master.

Sudoku has always been fascinating but the quality of each puzzle is dependent on its author. This is one of the best I have come across and highly recommended to everyone.
Thumbs down. Didn't even finish the first game. It was so hung up on graphics that it forgot that the purpose was the game itself!
I needed a sudoku source generated without the internet (my employer's server blocks all sudoku puzzles!) The layout is marginal. The rows and columns are difficult to read.

The easy puzzles are ok but the medium is too hard. They require notation which I associate with the 4 star or hard level.

The game was cheap and it is better than nothing but there must be better products on the market.
I had just started doing Sudoku puzzles. I was trying to find some on the internet to print and do when I came across Amazon and Sugoku Puzzle Addict during one of my searches. I couldn't believe the price and I knew it was too good to be true. I thought for sure there would end up being strings attached. This is not your easy Mah Jong, kids may have difficulties with this but adults will find it intriguing! You'll sometimes have to quit with dismay that you were not able to finish a very hard game but, keep at it! A good challenge for the mind.
These games are so much fun, they're totally addicting.
Just when you think you can't solve a puzzle- it happens.
You solve it and move on to the next!

This game is indeed a challenge, I already had The Curse of Ra and completed all levels except 46, couldn't break code so if someone out there was able to get this level I would love to hear how, Am just starting the other Ra games, so will be interesting, and challenging, I am 52 years old, so it goes to show you are never to old for video game challenges. thanks

This is an excellent program with rich features and a range of options that is quite impressive. I would rate this program very highly - one of the best that I've seen. My only critical comment is that a truly experienced Sudoku puzzle solver will find that most of the 9 x 9 puzzles are less challenging than one might hope. But the freedom to enter your own puzzles is very useful.
I could not be more excited about this game. The hints are perfect and taught me the various methods of solving the puzzles. You can enter your own puzzle (if you are stuck doing one in the paper) and it can give you hints. Level of difficulty options from 1 - 10 allow for both beginners and advanced. Excellent game.
A must have for any Sudoku enthusiast! Many difficulty levels so it's good for beginners or experts. And - the game itself is very easy to use. In fact, it's the only one I use now.
I would use the cliche' "you get what you pay for" (commenting, of course, on the quality of the plethora of free sudoku-ware out there) but given the low price of this game (and the apparently free updates!?!?!?) it might give the wrong impression.

Inspired execution of the game that addicts and newbies alike will appreciate. Be warned, the highest difficulty levels are TOUGH!
