(Not nearly as much fun as I hoped...)

(Another fun Wordoku puzzle book)

These puzzles were not only not as fun as regular Sudoku, but weren't as challenging either. They were more like the "training" Sudokus my 9-year old does. And as for having anything to do with Scrabble (one of my favorite games ever), the letters of the word you fit into the boxes are drawn on tiles at the bottom of the page, and that's it. I suppose the words were unusual enough that if you committed them to memory, they might help you out when playing Scrabble, but I would rather memorize 8-letter words (all of these are 7) so I could use all of my tiles connected to one on the board.
Like Frank Longo's other letter based Sudoku books (The Official Book of Wordoku: Sudoku Puzzles for Word Lovers, TRIVIAL PURSUIT Sudoku (Trivial Pursuit) and others), this book has you solving the Sudoku's to spell out a word either across, down or on a diagonal. What makes this one different is that the grid is only 7 x 7 and because of that is in a jigsaw pattern of irregular shapes.

Solving the puzzles takes a double shift in your thinking, first to try to find the word that is the "solution" word and also to just solve the jigsaw aspect of the Sudoku.

Definitely worth adding to your collection of Sudoku variations.

(Nice size puzzles to work on, fun to solve, not so "ultra easy" though)

The puzzles in this book are a nice size, for inserting possible numbers. The tutorial hints on solving Sudoku in the beginning of the book are excellent. The puzzles I have done so far, are stimulating. They are enjoyable to do and not frustrating. I did not find the puzzles "ultra easy". I think "easy" would better describe the puzzles in this book, if you, alike myself, are not very masterful with Sudoku.
