『The number puzzle thats been rocketed to a worldwide craze now comes in a form great for younger minds! Do You Sudoku? For Kids uses six animal symbols on a grid composed of six 3x2 boxes (instead of the nine 3x3 boxes that use the digits 1 through 9 employed by traditional Sudoku puzzles). But the principle is precisely the same: no one of each of the six cartoon critters can show up more than once in the same row, column, or 3x2 box. Great for discovering patterns and developing logical thinking skills! Contains 55 puzzles and 24 re-usable vinyl stickers. Recommended Age: 6 and up』

Good Year Books
Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY) 『This book is an embarrassment. This sudoku variant is most commonly known as "Killer Sudoku" (or in some magazines as "Sumdoku"). There is nothing "killer" about any of these poorly designed puzzles, however. (Perhaps that's why the author gave the book a different name?) Those reviewers who thought the puzzles in here are tough need to find another pursuit. They are all ridiculously easy.
Many of them, as another reviewer correctly pointed out, are extremely poorly designed, in that they have more than one solution. Examples are numbers 11, 25, 32, 35, 37, 40, 44, 47, 71, 76. Furthermore, the author does not follow the customary rule in this type of puzzle that all of the digits in each "cage" be unique -- in other words, no number should appear more than once in any given sum. The author flouts this rule from the start in puzzle no. 1. I realize he does not, in his introduction, give this as a rule. At least he had the good grace to recognize that he would not (or perhaps was not an adept enough puzzle designer to) adhere to it. In short, more than 15% of the puzzles in this book are seriously flawed, and none is remotely challenging.
Finally, the book, while cheap, is poor value, as it contains a niggardly 76 puzzles. Those who want a challenge should purchase any of the Killer Sudoku volumes published by The Times of London. E.g., The " Times " Killer Su Doku; The "Times" Killer Su Doku: Bk. 3. Amazon currently lists five such volumes. Each contains, as I recall, 125 - 150 well-designed puzzles, which are divided into different difficulty levels, all of which (other than those labeled "easy") are challenging, and those categorized as "Deadly" really ARE difficult; even the "easy" ones are more challenging than anything in this pathetic waste of time and money.
The author advertises himself as a high school math teacher. Hopefully he lavishes more care on the education of young minds than he did on these puzzles. Then again, as one in higher education who sees what's coming out of high schools these days, I doubt it.』
(Another name for Samurai Sudoku) 『Other books have called this type of puzzle Samurai Sudoku, which I generally like. This one is o.k. but mostly too easy. Was able to complete the whole book in no time.』
(Sudoku book) 『If you enjoy doing a different kind of sudoku rather than just the normal kind this is a good book for you.』
(Lazy puzzle writer) 『I love this genre of puzzle, but this writer was too lazy to create good quality puzzles. Several puzzles had multiple correct answers. Another "cheat" is to include blank spaces in the grid which were not included in any of the sums. What I loved about this book was the size and its stiff cardboard back. "Jumbo Sudoku Fusion" and "Will Shortz's Favorite Sudoku Variations" include these types of puzzles and I recommend them.』
(Sum Doku is great!) 『I bought the Sumdoku book for my Dad's birthday. He just turned eighty and loves Sudoku and Sumdoku. The Sumdoku has a little more challenge to it. 』 『From the bestselling author of Super Sudoku Books 1&2 and Super Easy Sudoku comes a new twist on Sudoku and more fun to play than Kakuro.
Two-cell sum clues and regular Sudoku number clues add up to a very interesting puzzle, yet one that is easy to grasp and fun to play.

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Lots of fun) 『Before I got this book, I did the usual newspaper Sudokus and enjoyed them. This book opened up a whole new realm for me though. You've got word/letter puzzles, crazy sudokus where the 3 x 3 boxes are no longer boxes and Kakuros (number sums). I still do regular 9 x 9's, but when I want something fun and challenging, I always look for new variations.
If you're getting a little tired of the same old 9 x 9 grid, this book is a great way to get started on other fun puzzles.』
(enjoyable sudoku variations) 『I really enjoy sudoku, kakuro (cross sums) and will shortz, so I was looking forward to this book and was not disappointed. Here you'll find Wacky Sudoku, in which you are plying with non-3x3 subgrids; Hyper Sudoku, in which there are 4 3x3 grids embedded within the usual puzzle and these must also meet Sudoku solving criteria; ABC Sudoku, sometimes called Wordoku -- these were not terribly challenging; Killer Sudoku, a combination of Sudoku and Kakuro; and Kakuro. There are 100 puzzles altogether. Size of the book is good, 6'x9" with nice big grids.
I'd buy it again.』
(Exercise your brain!) 『If you loved sudoku puzzles but you have done so many that they are not fun anymore, then these puzzles are what you need. Each type of variation starts out simple and gets more challenging with each puzzle. The size of the puzzles on each page make them comfortable to do. As with all Will Shortz books, the puzzles are well designed to develop your logic skills as you move up in difficulty. These are fun puzzles. Do one every day and keep your brain in optimal condition.』
(A welcome break from the routine) 『I started off in Sudokus with New York Post Sudoku 1: The Official Utterly Addictive Number-Placing Puzzle (New York Post Su Doku) and its sequels. Although these were great at first, at some point it just got old: there's only so much of interest you can do with nine digits in a nine by nine grid.
Then I found this book and I was reinvigorated. It contains a number of different types of puzzles, all of which fit into the Sudoku grid style yet all of which are refreshingly different.
This book has "Wacky Sudoku" which the rest of the world seems to call Jigsaw Sudoku The "Daily Telegraph" Jigsaw Sudoku (Daily Telegraph). With these, the grids are no longer 3 x 3 but may be arbitrary shapes enclosing nine spaces. The regular rules apply in that rows, columns and the enclosed spaces all have unique 1 - 9 digits, but you need to think differently to solve them.
Hyper Sudoku has overlapping square grids which I had fun with but which seemed to make the puzzles much simpler to solve.
It also has a version of Sudoku using letters and spelling out a nine letter word or phrase. I had great fun with these and ended up getting an entire book of them Godoku: 200 Fun and Challenging Sudoku-style Puzzles with Letters!.
There were also Killer Sudoku and Kakuro puzzles, but these weren't my favorites. Unlike regular Sudokus where you're really trying to make a set of non-repeating digits (or letters), Killer Sudoku and Kakuro are more algebraic in nature. But -- I still did them all!
For anyone who is starting to get bored with regular Sudokus, or even for anyone who just wants to try some of the variations out there, I highly recommend this book. It's enjoyable, the puzzles are never so hard that they can't be solved and I simply enjoyed being able to open the book to a random page and find a new puzzle to be solved. Unlike plain old 9 x 9 Sudoku, you'll never find yourself bored with these.』
(Easy, Hard to Read) 『The puzzles are VERY easy and the print is very hard to read, especially in the killer sudokus.』 『
