This is a nice blending of humans with the Sesame Street characters with Keri Russell as the princess and French Stewart acting as Cinderelmo's footman. It lasts about 50 minutes and has some nice songs to delight the children. Our 3-year-old grandchild loves Elmo and enjoyed this little romp.
This is the most precious Elmo we have purchased. It is a twist on the original Cinderella story with great music. Good luck getting it out of your head. My 2 1/2 year old son requests it at least twice per day. Enjoy!
CinderElmo is so funny! I laugh at the comedy and my 20 month old daughter dances to the music. We both love it!
If you are reading this by yourself, chances are you are the parent-type. Let me save you some time. Though this movie is an "Elmo" movie, it was very lacking of the red guy. If you want one Elmo movie to play over and over and over, stick with Elmo in Grouchland. It is very similar to Labyrinth (from the '80's and not soo much for the pre-school crowd) which was good for me. It was cute and there were some good songs and decent acting. Also, on a totally "awwww" level, I love hearing my 2 year old daughter sing "Elmo's best friend". I doubt you'd get a song like that in most of the other films. Cheers!
This video gets you by in a pinch. The music is passable with the "human stars". My son is a Elmo fan but will choose other productions over this one. Like I said, it will get us by in a pinch. I rate it average for a Sesame Workshop Production.
Our favorite little red monster is the star of this delightful film that playfully skews the story of Cinderella. Originally aired on Fox television in 1999, the feature is a playful mix of human actors andSesame Streetcharacters that is an easy watch for families with 3- to 7-year-olds. Cinderelmo (he's a boy, if you didn't know) dreams of playing in a castle and meeting the princess (Keri Russell). Unfortunately his mean--but not that mean--stepmother (Kathy Najimy) wants her two other sons to go to the ball at which the princess must declare whom she wishes to marry.

The film is certainly focused on the youngsters (as opposed to the slightly older audience of the Muppet films), but there are plenty of puns and wry humor for adults to enjoy. The handful of songs are quite pleasant, as is the length (50 minutes). Oliver Platt (as a new "fairy godperson") and French Stewart (as Cinderelmo's dog-turned-footman) enjoy their roles with relish. Appearing in various small roles are plenty of theSesame Streetgang, including Grover, Kermit, Cookie Monster, Bert, and Ernie. Great fun.--Doug Thomas

The video is fine, but this is a DVD release of a VHS titled "Gallant Old Engine". If you already have the VHS tape, save your money.

I came across this movie by accident years ago on tv and fell in love...so I finally bought it and have watched it several times over now. If you like 1960's NY themed movies you will love this one! And you will love the music!
If you have never seen this movie, you are missing a classic. I love this movie. Michael Wright, Ken Wahl. The Baldy's, the Wan's, Duckey Boys. You will love this movie as much as I do.
This movie was released the same time as the WARRIORS so it got over shadowed by another good movie but this is set in a much later era and for a gang movie premis i think it was very well done
Received DVD quickly in the mail in excellent condition. Because this is an old release I was worried that the picture guality would be less than perfect, but I was happy to see that the color was vibrant, picture was clear and the sound was very good.
Everything from the acting to the plot, is really bad in this movie... I bought it out of the reviews I've read.. still I was very disappointed..
Tully High School seniors Richie, Joey and Perry run with a gang called the Wanderers in the Bronx. The time is fall 1963 but their experiences are universal: falling in love, surviving in school and defending turf against rivals like the Fordham Baldies, the Del Bombers and the Ducky Boys.

The problem here is too much basis in the SCTV family of films. The viewer in my experience tends to take films that the producers of a TV series do and associate them with that point of origin, the way any David Spade, Wil Ferrell or Mike Myers and Dana Carvey vehicle is seen as an SNL big-screen spinoff. Also if they'd waited a few years until the turn of the new century brought us such classics as the Flintstones feature starring John Goodman, they would have benefitted from the creation of that new sub-genre; live action movies based on animated cartoons. And the choices for the starring roles might have been more believable. Like Cher as Natasha (she already has the looks and the voice, all she would have had to do is learn the East Bloc accent). And maybe Danny DeVito as Boris.
The rocky and Bullwinkle movie which hit theaters 8 years later then this movie was a disgrace to Jay Ward. This movie however was a great movie based of those too spies Boris and Natasha. Except for a small part of them being turned to humans Rocky and Bullwinkle don't appear in this movie. However it is filled with action that the R&B movie does not have. Great for Rocky and Bullwinkle fans and people unfimilair with the old show!
This turkey is part, I think, of the ongoing punishment of talents like Dave Thomas and Andrea Martin for DARING to be funny outside of Hollywood (at Second City Television), and, perhaps, for refusing to "go" Hollywood.

Any number of B-list pix have taken SCTV people and forced them to work from corporate scripts.

This movie is beyond moronic, and even columnist Jim Anchower of the Onion would need two flats of beer to sit through it. I acquired it on the street next to a dai pan dong in Hong Kong for five bucks HKD but it literally isn't worth about 75 cents US.

This America Online disk that calls itself a movie has a nearly unintelligible screen play.

News fa lash. What was hip in 1964 can be *au fait* in 2004, but you have to attack the sacred cows and the shibboleths of fat and aging baby boomers even as Rocky and Bullwinkle deconstructed our parent's Eisenhower America.

Come on. Fat and aging Baby Boomers are FUNNY when they get scared in Starbucks when a stranger speaks to them, and especially when they Support the Troops and in general laud traditional Values of which they've only heard rumours, in survey classes years ago, in junior college.

Hot off the presses. Natasha has to make an effort to look like zeee real Natasha: Borees has to make an effort to zound like zeee real Boris. I don't blame Sally and Dave. I think that they were so sick at heart after reading the script that they could not perform.

This just in. Irony can't be treated as product. You have to believe in something (start with peace and love) to be ironic about Amerikkka today, but the screen writers were clearly told that Borees and Natasha think America is great. This worked in Ivan Reitman's Stripes.

News fa-most assuredly-lash: Stripes was made when? 1981? Counsel rests and requests leave to go to the powder room to throw up.
This movie is filled with subtle comedy in the same tradition as the original animated version on the Rocky&Bullwinkle Show!
I laughed and laughed at the antics and comic situations this pair get into. If you ever saw the animated version you'll love this real life version as well! A very good movie when you want something different and lighthearted and filled with comedy so subtle that you better pay attention, which is easy to do as the movie draws you into it so easily. A great movie for collector's of real life versions of animated classics!
Me, I got this because I am a Dave Thomas fan from SCTV. He didn't disappoint, doing what he could with the material. Thomas and Sally Kellerman also chose not to attempt straight impressions of their cartoon counterparts. Unfortunately, overall, if you are R&B fans you may wince all the way through. The movie goes Jay Ward only halfheartedly, and that was probably a mistake. Rather than take the wiser approaches of caricature all the way around, or having them transplanted from animation as was done in "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle," Boris and Natasha are buffoons, but the framework they work within is all played straight. Even Fearless Leader is a competent and serious (as serious as this movie can be) character. There are a couple of good sight gags, and Thomas wrings some laughs out of situations and dialogue that might not deserve it otherwise. The movie peps up when it strays dangerously close to SCTV (John Candy's cameo, Boris and Natasha's disguises in fat suits as the Irish couple Mr. and Mrs. O'Beeth), and might have been better all the way through if they had jettisoned its Rocky and Bullwinkle parentage altogether and tried a new direction for the characters--perhaps using them as punning commentators on a real world full of humor if approached the right way. Worth 2 1/2 stars but not an option.

THE GAME PLAN is a hilarious heartwarming family comedy where one of the sports toughest players meets his biggest challenge - his daughter and learning fatherhood. Joe Kingman played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is preparing for the championship games when his 8-year-old daughter Payton shows up with no notice at his apartment with the news that he has a daughter. When Joe puts all the pieces together with his agent their first concern is his career but as the movie moves on we see Joe's mentality turn from superstar to dad. As he gets closer to the big championship, he gets some quick lessons in being a father and making the difference to the most important fan in his life his daughter.

The movie is the perfect family movie and I give Disney two thumbs up for this one. Dwayne Johnson&Madison Pettis make the perfect father daughter team. It is a classic to add to any family's collection

We have five boys, so I am always on the lookout for movies we can watch together. I want movies that will hold the interest of my younger boys, have enough jokes that my older boys will not be bored, but not be so 'dumbed down' that my husband and I are asleep in the first 30 minutes. Not always an easy task...But "The Gameplan" was close enough. Dwayne Johnson was a pro wrestler, not sure of all the details, but that is a fact that caught my older boys'attention. We all enjoyed him in "The Scorpion King," and my younger boys just thought it looked like a funny movie, and it was. Many of the jokes are recycled from other, similar, films and it is a rather predictable ending, though I was caught off guard by 'the twist.' But it is a sweet story, with a lovely sentiment. It's a movie you can enjoy as a family, and movies like that always rank high in my book.
