(dresser)

(Great Product)

(Not worth it)

(good changing table for price)

(Great Product!)
it is hard to find the little compartments for the space it should be a drawer
I love this changing table. It can fit 2 pretty large baskets to put your diapers and wipes in. I love the drawers in this changing table because I can keep their onesies and the sheets for their cribs. When you have a set of twins you need all the dresser space that you can get.
25 Pieces of wood
178 hardware pieces (screws, nails, etc..)
2.5 hours of work
1 Wobbly piece of furniture

I have put together other pieces of furniture (e.g. Ikea) and this is by far the most complex one that I have ever seen. Also, when you follow the instructions you're left wondering if whoever wrote them had ever put together this baby changer.

I was really upset when I opened the box and found that this piece of furniture is all fiberboard. I was really surprised to find that once we got it put together it was actually fairly sturdy. I was very happy to find that it matched the crib we bought. There was a few dings on the product due to shipping but they were small enough that I didn't even bother trying to get new pieces. Over a good changing table for the price.
This dresser/changing table is a great buy for the quality and price. The color was a great match for the other cherry furniture in the nursery. The piece recommends that two people are needed for assembly, although I was able to complete the task on my own. There are definitely a lot of pieces and you will need a square-looking screwdriver for some of the parts. I believe this type of screwdriver is called a "robertson." It would have been easier if the manufacturer had included an allen wrench but that is really my only complaint. I would definitely purchase from this company again in the future.
This Sweet Morning Collection offers you this very practical Changing table featuring open storage space for easy access when changing the baby and some spacious drawers to store other necessary things. Its rich and popular finish will bring elegance to that baby's room and makes it easy to match. This changing table comes with shaped moulding and corners for increased security and features a nice decorative kickplate giving it personnality.

(Sooooo cute, wanted to love it but measurements ARE inaccurate)

(Love this growth chart!)

(Great addition to our garden themed decor.)

(A complete waist of money!!!)
I read reviews before I bought this, but I wanted to believe that the people were wrong who said the measurements were inaccurate because of the ribbon. They were right. The ribbon adds at least an extra 1/2". I think I will either sew it or tape it so it is right. If you butt the panels right up next to eachother the measurement is exactly right. Otherwise this is a wonderful growth chart. I think it is very well made and beautiful. It is NOT a toy, so it is not made for your child to play with - definitely not sturdy enough for that. I am disappointed about the measurement problem, but not enough to send it back. It is too pretty and too easy to fix. I hope they are still around for my next child!
Unlike the first review, we haven't had any issues with extra space between the measurements where the ribbon lies. We also find that the ribbon is thorughly secured and adds a decorative touch. This growth chart is adorable and fun. We love it!
I bought the growth chart because it matched the garden decor for our first daughter's room. The growth chart's measurements were not accurate, but we loved it. I'm purchasing another one for my second daughter.
I have bought this chart to measure my daughter's annual growth. The design of this product is cute however the three panels are very flimsy. The panels are held together with a fabric tape which add several inches to the overall length of this chart but the measuring system on the chart doesn't reflect this ( the distance between inch 36 and 37 is an inch and a half). Therefore, I had to measure my daughter and then manually enter it on the chart. Not much of a growing chart to me. The stickers included to record Birthdays and Special Occasions are small and melt together with the background color/design, therefore are really hard to spot.
A complete waist of money!!!

Growing Like a Sunflower Growth Chart illustration by Melissa Sweet is a beautiful gift, certain to be treasured! eeBoo's unique format includes a beautifully illustrated, heavily laminated chart that folds up and fits inside a sturdy gift box. Measures up to 60 inches. The chart comes with 20 stickers for marking Birthdays and other important occasions. A perfect gift idea for a new baby!!

An amazing plant. The leaves of this ornamental plant are 45 times sweeter than sugar! It is a fantastic healthy substitute in cooking, for adding to tea and coffee, or eaten on its own. Ideal for containers and windowsill growing, indoors or out! Harvest the leaves as needed and throw out your Nutrasweet!Correct name: Stevia rebaudiana. Height: 24".

(Great for music lovers and Elmo lovers)

(Great for K-1st grade)

(great movie)

(Amazing!)

(Elmo's musical adventure)
I'm an elementary music teacher, so I got this to show my 1st grade classes as a culmination to our Peter and the Wolf unit. I love it for showing the kids how the instruments are played as well as the appropriate behavior for an orchestral performance. The kids loved the fact that these well-known characters were playing parts in Peter and the Wolf. My 2 year old Elmo fanatic loved it because...well, because it's Elmo.
As an elementary school teacher, I'm always on the lookout for great instructional videos for the younger grades (K-1st grade). This one fits the bill perfectly. The humor really appeals to 6-7 year-olds, and the action is not too intense. I especially like how this video deals with the duck's run-in with the wolf. Makes me laugh every time. One word of caution, though: this video is a bit less than 45 minutes. More like 40 even. Be prepared for a wrap-up lesson after viewing.
My kids love ELMO but they get bored with the movies because they are just episodes clumped together normally. This movie is actually a movie with a plot and lasts more than 20 minutes. I also love it because it exposes children to the symphony and how stories can be told through instruments. Good pick for a semame street kid.
My two year old sister&I watched this video six times in one day! We both love it! I was deeply involved in the music department while I was in high school and I love how much she enjoys watching the story and listening to the music. It was appropriately editted for children (taking out the guns, the wolf eating the duck, etc.) and I'm thrilled they featured the Boston Pops Orchestra! Wonderful!
This is a great way to introduce children or students to Peter and the Wolf and orchestral instruments. My music appreciation class loved it and they remembered the instruments much better than from the audio tape I used previously. There is a little creative deviation from the original Peter and the Wolf story, but it didn't really interfere with the presentation. We loved it!
Movie DVD
Tag along for Elmo's musical adventure with Prokofiev'sPeter and the Wolfand prepare to strike an unlikely pose, with one foot planted in the friendliest, furriest neighborhood anybody knows and the other in a sophisticated, sonically souped-up concert arena--Boston's Symphony Hall. The video unites the two seemingly mismatched worlds seamlessly, pulling off its unstated but pretty obvious goal, which is to siphon off the classical genre's outermost layer of stuffiness to make it more accessible to little kids, with Sesame-style punch and simplicity. Baby Bear leads viewers into Peter's forest by way of his ticket to see the Boston Pops Orchestra. Backstage he meets conductor Keith Lockhart, who serves as tour guide for a thorough but breezy showcase of various instruments, allowing the lisping little bear to get a grip on which sound portrays which character. Happy-go-lucky Peter, played by a peasant-costumed Elmo, is center stage during violin solos; the scary-sounding French horn signals the approach of the wolf--normally a ferocious fellow, but in this case a harmless furry purple guy. These days, with the gospel about the benefits of music education spreading at fever pitch, this 45-minute gem could be promoted as a way to get preschoolers in on the action. Beyond that, it's a charming chucklefest that's as effective as any intro you'll find to the classic tale. Elmo tickles audiences of all ages as Peter, and Big Bird, with help from the bassoon, spreads his wings in the role of the brave but foolhardy boy's grandfather.--Tammy La Gorce

(Unique music for the mature ear)

(Music that envelopes you!)

(Great Music)

(Very solid second release)

(Awesome!)
This album by the duo Bitter:Sweet (Shana Halligan and Kiran Shahani) and is a unique blend of jazz, rock, electronic and smooth music. It refines the sound made in their initial album The Mating Game. Shana Halligan has a smooth and sensuous voice and there is an obvious influence from "The Supreme Beings of Leisure" sound which Kiran Shahani founded with Rick Torres.

The music is very melodic and has some very memorable melodies which includes the title track. A thoroughly likable album that I purchased on iTunes first but then felt the need to get the fidelity of the CD so that I could get more enjoyment.

Her soft, sexy voice keeps you interested while the music lifts you to another plane. These are songs that tell stories that you want to be a part of. Highly recommended!
I love the songs, its very "im in the mood for cafe music" type of songs.
The first album drew me in because of a certain likeness to Supreme Beings of Leisure, but this one is more uniquely lounge sound. "The Bomb" is absolutely impossible to drive from your head.

This album is a lot more diverse and varied, which keeps you interested start to finish. One minor complaint is the singer's need to lisp her s'es seemingly on purpose. "Sugar Mama" also sounds embarrassingly like "Don't Worry, Be Happy."

But if you can get past the emulative flaws, you'll certainly enjoy the album while driving or chilling at home.

This album is really great, it exceeded my expectations. Bittersweet is just such a genius band. I've been fan of them since their first album. This album is a must have!
Two years after their intoxicating debut, Bitter:Sweet returns with their much anticipated 2008 sophomore release, Drama. Aptly titled, the album takes the listener through a range of heightened emotions and sounds. The meticulous production, impeccable songwriting, and sensual vocals are present as ever on an album that polishes the signature style introduced by The Mating Game. Backed with full string ensembles and horn sections Drama embraces a more organic sound that moves Bitter:Sweet confidently into the pop realm. Equal parts flirtatious numbers, and achingly beautiful songs; Drama is playful, moving, and sure to become a classic. Quango.

(a MUST wiggles DVD!)

(my daughter loves it.)

(Happy Grandaughter)

(Cute video. Poor quality.)
This is a wonderful DVD. My toddler loved it. She watched it twice in a row the first time and now keeps asking for it. This was definitely a great buy! Wish I could say the same about the other wiggles dvds I bought.
i bought this with other wiggles dvds. and my daughter is 21 mos old. Maybe she is too young to watch dvd, but she loves watch youtube wiggles through the internet. So, the reason I chose this is the song "Toot, toot, chugga chugga big red car". She really loves this song.
I'm satisfied with it. The quility is fine by me and my little one.
(The story of this dvd is about fixing the big red car and safety.)

I love the Wiggles...and so does my 2 year old grandaughter. She loves the DVD, because she likes to dance and sing along with them. It keeps her busy for a while, so I can get a few things done while I baby-sit.
This video itself was cute, but it's so blurry that we don't ever watch it. We have other Wiggles videos that are better quality (Yummy Yummy, Wiggly, Wiggly World!, Wiggly Safari, Wiggle Bay, Racing to the Rainbow). Save your money and eyesight on this one and buy one of the other ones.

(Michael Imperioli most brilliant performance ever!!!)

(Why Never Released on DVD?)

(Sweet Nothing)

(A must see for all young adults)

(LIFE OF SWEET NOTHINGNESS)
when i saw this movie i said to myself this was as real of a story about a middle class family who got into the drug biz, live the life with money power and respect and then drug addiction caught up with them and show the vicious cycle of drugs in all level. why is this movie so good its because the realism of drugs and family struggle is all here as well as the acting performances are perfection especially from mira sorvino and the great michael imperioli. mike performance as angel is so good that its disappointing that he didnt get a oscar nomination for his brilliant performance as a realistic crack addicted. i do agree that this film should be shown to every high school health class and even in colleges, med school, police etc. this movies is up there as the best anti drug film ever thanks to incredible story and michael brilliant performance. i cant wait to show my kids this film when they get older. i hope it comes out for dvd soon its worth the buy!! A++++++++++++++++
I caught this movie on cable one night and instantly wanted to own it. It's a fantastic movie that is incredibly dynamic in nature. There is the struggle to hold a family together, economic pressures that lead a man to crime, and the descent into madness at the hands of a crack pipe.

Michael Imperioli and Mira Sorvino both give amazing performances. This true story about a man named Angel (Angelo) was written in a diary that was found in an empty apartment in New York.

Years after seeing this, it remains one of my favorites. I cannot help but wonder why such an amazing movie was never released on DVD.

Powerful movie, very real!!!........A must see!!!
Too bad they don't show this movie in schools so kids can see the real dangers of crack addiction.

If anyone ever wanted a reason no to do drugs, this is the movie. More powerful than any lecture or discussion could ever dream of being, this film shows so clearly what crack addiction is like. This movie should be shown to every high school senior.
Sweet Nothing is a fantastic movie portraying the lives of a young couple struggling to have a life in NYC.A young Michael Imperioli, and Mira Sorvino lend credence to a story of drugs, love, and loss! A MUST SEE!

(Agreed One Disgusting and Degrading Film.)

(Disgusting, this is nothing but one long Porno/Running marathon.)

(Grade Z home made exploitation-groundbreaking MYAAAASS)

(weid movie)

(The Quintessential Independent Blaxplotation Film Of All Time!!!)
This movie has to be the worst of the Genre, there is no point to it, its disgusting and revolting, it's like a really bad porno, he does this disgusting chubby white girl in the middle of a club, it's gross and has no point. It's not really sticking it to the man if that was what it was intended to do as most similar (related) films are.

The entire movie has no point, and certainly no purpose. What ever "Black Power" message this film was trying to make is lost. You'll find yourself spending most of your time trying to figure out just what in the hell this movie is about. This may have been one of the first "Black Power" movies from the 70's and it's also the worst.

Sweetback pretty much runs through the entire movie, and when he is not running, he is having sex. It only breaks from that cycle to show him beating up a cop or few. The weird thing about this film is that the "Sex" has nothing to do with anything! It's mostly just out of context the entire film. This movie really has no plot. It's actually just Melvin Van Peebles running from the city to the desert.

Watching this movie is like getting high. It's confusing, it makes no sense, and it's just strange as hell. "You bled my mamma, You bled my pappa, but you won't bleed me" get used to that phrase, because that's all you'll ever hear in the back tracking music this entire film. Interestingly enough Earthwind and Fire provided the music for this film, this being one of their earliest gigs. That's probably the only signifigant thing in this film worth taking note of.

I can't even think of a single solitary reason why this is worth watching today. It cetainly is not worth owning. I'm suprised this even made it from VHS to DVD. I mean I don't mind the badly recorded audio or visuals of this film, I expect that. There's plenty of low budget films that look horrible; however, a good low budget film makes up for that with an outstanding storyline. This waste of footage has neither.

I don't care if this is supposed to be a great "Black" accomplishment, this is trash! This is more of a great "Black" embarassment. If your looking for a 70's Black Power flick with a message I highly recommend "Watermelon Man." Now that's a great film.

The only thing this films stands as today is a reminder, that even people with absolutely no talent can produce something that generates them money.

I agree with the other ONE STAR raters of this "film"--Whatever it's intent, cultural timing or underground anti-establishment accolades--the film is TERRIBLE--Terrible in EVERY way--there are no redeeming qualities to speak of--It is a miracle anyone knows anything about this film all these decades later--Great films made during this era have been 90% forgotten, while this is revered--don't get it!
I only watch this movie because I love everything about the 70's, but this movie is not that good to me.
I know this film has been trashed by critics both black and white for its heavy content (i.e. stautory rape scene, and interracial sex scene), but this film was given an X rating. Melvin Van Peebles, who is highly regarded as the "Godfather of Modern Black Cinema" put everything he had on the line to get this film made, despite the Supreme Court, death threats. Bill Cosby even co-financed the film.

Ten years ago, I purchased "Sweetback" on VHS, and I was completely, blown away by this controversial, yet revolutinary, independent Black film. Bottom Line: If it weren't for Melvin Van Peebles raising the bar in filmmaking, there would be no Spike Lee or John Singleton.

Raw, jagged, and explosively angry,Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Songis a landmark in American independent cinema. Melvin Van Peebles directed, wrote, produced, edited, scored, and stars as Sweetback, a passive bouncer raised in a brothel. Shot guerrilla style on a starvation budget on the streets of Los Angeles, it's a violent tale of Sweetback's journey from passive acceptance to political awareness and active defiance. He becomes the target of a manhunt when he kills two cops who beat up a young black activist, and he bounces from hideout to hideout before running for the border, all the while getting more booty than Shaft and Superfly put together. The movie was so inflammatory by conservative industry standards that it was "Rated X by an All White Jury," which the ads proudly touted. The unusual mix of agitprop and exploitation is directed in a jagged style that recalls Godard and set to a funky score performed by Earth, Wind&Fire, which Van Peebles intercuts with chanting Greek chorus-like slogans. Released independently, it was a huge hit and effectively spawned the blaxploitation genre, but none of the films that followed ever recaptured the energy, the anger, and the social politics of this breakthrough in independent cinema.--Sean Axmaker

My favourite movie cant buy it in australia lucky i found it on here its heaps good movie the books good too.
As with most Phil Kaufman films, there's a lot more going on than meets the eye. Kaufman is after nothing less than the collision of the end of the 50's as it crashes headlong into the 60's. Featuring a cast of unknowns ( at that time ) and a fantastic soundtrack, Kaufman fills The Wanderers with great character performances such as Terror, the 300 pound gang leader, and the Mob guys in XXl-size Hawaiian shirts. Ken Wahl and Karen Allen lead along with a terrific Linda Mans ( Days of Heaven). And because it just wouldn't be a Phil Kaufman film without a metaphysical layer, there is the unexplained presence of the Ducky Boys, whirling dervishes of ultra violence that might not even be real. It's a film that never received the attention it deserved. And who can forget the opening frame as that first chord of "Walk Like A Man" thunders out. Priceless!
My husband wanted this video. He was so surprised I found it. He loves it.
the product came to me in excellent condition and very happy with it and no damage at all and also quick service.
this was along time favorite and i looked along time for this movie was very happy to find it

(When Priests Were The Good Guys On Film)

(Wonderful Film)

(Refreshing)
This is a movie I can watch over and over again.I first saw it when I was a little boy. This movie always gives me a wonderful feeling. This is the kind of movie I want to have. Amazone made this possible with a good price. The movie got to me on time and in good gondition.
Great movie. We watch it every holiday, now we don't have to search for it on TV. We own it.
It's always been strange for a movie buff like me to see how things change over the decades. In the 1940s and 1950s, Catholic priests were the good guys and likable actors like Pat O'Brien, Spencer Tracy and even Bing Crosby made them even more attractive. Since the '60s, Hollywood went in the opposite direction and made them villains more than anything else.

Frankly, I never found a nun who looked like Ingrid Bergman or Audrey Hepburn, or a priest who could sing like Bing Crosby, but, what the hell, er heck....better to see a positive cleric image than a negative, I believe.

The first hour of this movie was very good and the film might have wound up a favorite of mine but the second half petered out quickly and never regained steam, except for a nice ending. The films bogs down with a romance that has nothing to do with the story. The music also lost its appeal to me when Crosby's fine voice was finished for the film, replaced by the operatic high notes of Rise Stevens.

Overall, the film has a number of nice, touching moments and Crosby is very likable but the story goes on too long and is not one I would watch a second time.

A great movie. Bing Crosby at his best. To hear "Swingin' On A Star" again alone was worth the price of the DVD.
A wonderful trip down memory lane when singers could sing and dancers could dance. A refreshing difference compared to the many caustic performers in today's world.
Movie DVD
This irresistible Oscar winner from writer-director Leo McCarey (An Affair to Remember) stars Bing Crosby as a low-key, crooning priest who joins the parish of a no-nonsense but sweet old Irish man of the cloth (Barry Fitzgerald). While Bing turns local toughs into a choir, the elder priest worries over the church building fund and whether he'll get a chance to see his old mother back in Ireland before she dies. One would have to have a heart of stone not to be won over by this charmer, with a lovely ending guaranteed to make you bawl for a week.--Tom Keogh

(Great DVD!)

(like a sleep-inducing drug, only for children, in a good way)

(They killed the classic!)

(Goodnight Moon)

(my son looooooves this video and so do we!)
We have two 4-year-olds who ask to watch this DVD every night. And it puts them right to sleep! The music and illustrations are fantastic! We were given this DVD, but I have since ordered several as gifts.
This is the most soothing, calming, beautiful thing ever made for TV. Aaron Neville singing Brahms Lullaby, with the incredibly sweet animation that goes with it from Ink Tank, will melt the coldest heart and bring tears to your eyes; that alone is worth the price. This whole tape worked like a drug on our then-2 year old, who otherwise had a lot of anxiety over bedtime. (We did skip the "Nightmare in My Closet" segment for a long while, though.)

Regarding the New York-centric comment from one reviewer, I never even noticed this, really,&I'm from TN/NC/VA; a number of the kids interviewed are actually from Durham, NC.

What the kids have to say is almost always sweet and insightful (there is one precocious girl featured in one segment who seems to know/think that what she's saying is really deep, but apart from her, these kids are all beautifully honest and innocently wise). Our kids (now K-6) could watch this every night, and so could we.

I agree with other reviewers about the emphasis on monsters, nightmares, and creepy child interviews that are abrupt and interrupt the flow of the "Sleepytime" stories. My child had a hard time relating to the children, and I wish there was a way to skip over the interviews. I can't stand the interviews. I think the Scholastic series is better, just the stories, none of the annoying fluff.
[[

Great for all youngsters 4 and under and the young at heart.ASIN:0060775858 Goodnight Moon, 60th Anniversary Edition]]

My son is 21 months old and loves this movie. He wants to watch it every night before bed. He just squeals with delight when it comes on. My daughter who is 4 also loves it and talks along with all the kids. She especially loves to talk along with the little boy who has the very, very wholy blankey. She knows every word. I understand some of the parents not liking the kids talking as much as the stories, but if your kids are used to that format (mine were through Sesame Street videos) then they won't mind a bit. Every child is different, so some will love it and some won't. As for the kids being "very New Yorky"- yes, they are, but why is that so horrible? I like exposing my kids to kids from different places, and once again, if they watch Sesame Street videos, they'll already be used to kids from New York. The only criticism I have is that it goes into some very heavy issues- one little boy talks about his mommy dreaming about his dad who died. That's a pretty serious topic for bedtime. I'd prefer that they didn't do that, but my kids don't seem to be badly affected by it.
Movie DVD
Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd's bestselling children's book headlines this winning 25-minute collection of sleepytime tales from HBO. Susan Sarandon narrates the simple story of a bunny readying for bed. Other top entertainers lend their voices to the tape: Tony Bennett sings the story of "Hit the Road to Dreamland"; Lauryn Hill brings rhythm to "Hush, Little Baby" (the best segment); Billy Crystal lends many voices to Mercer Mayer's "There's a Nightmare in My Closet"; and singers Natalie Cole, Aaron Neville, and Patti LeBelle sing other tales. A dandy video for the youngster, punctuated with "interviews" of real kids answering a host of bedtime questions.--Doug Thomas

(Best ever sandwich cookie)

(not to good)

(Just like Oreo's)

(yay! A GF cookie that doesn't taste like a GF cookie!)

(A great substitute for those of us who can't eat Oreo's)
This cookie is better than regular Oreos. They freeze well, and stay whole in a plastic bag kept in the purse for those emergency blood sugar drops.
We enjoy the van.cookies. The chocolate ones seem to be much much harder and drier. Not sure why, have tried different bags but always to dry.
If you miss Oreo's look no further. These are as close as you can get!
I think that this must be a relatively new formulation of these cookies because I remember trying them (maybe a different brand, but I could have sworn they were from Kinnikinnick) and finding that they were so hard that you could practically break your teeth on them!

Fortunately, though, I decided to pick up some today and see if my daughter likes them. Well, it turns out that these are absolutely great! They're very much like original Oreos. I'm so happy and my daughter, who is also GF was happy to be able to come home tonight and dip cookies in milk, "just like the commercials". When I gave her one she said, "these are like the ones on tv. For me? Are they gluten free? Yay!" She's three and was very happy to have a fun treat. She asked if I'd send one to school with her in her lunch so she can eat what the other kids are eating.

Pick these up, for sure. You won't be disappointed.

My sister found this at Earth Fair in Athens Ga and I've been getting it from Amazon since then. I'm gluten and dairy free and these are a great substitute for Oreo's. I highly recommend these.

(If you like the smell of feet and the taste of chalk, this bar's for you)

(Delicious for a snack or treat)

(Chocolate Orange too dry.)

(Perfect chocolate bars)

(Jocolat Chocolate Orange bar)
Jocalat is chocolate in its purest form. Harmonizing with fruits and nuts, each flavor contains no more than seven simple ingredients. Type:Bar, Use:Snack, Unit of Sale:Box of 16, Flavor:Chocolate Hazelnut,
I like to try all different health food bars and when I saw one that combined my two favorite things together (chocolate and hazelnuts) I said, "oooh I have to try". I was sorely disappointed. I bought two of these and I was excited to try one. I opened it and was hit by the awful smell of... well a foot-like scent. So that was a turnoff, but I said hey I have never been one to let looks or smell hinder me from trying something new. So I went ahead and ate it. I had to force myself to finish it. It was like torture eating this. It tasted awful. I actually opened up the second and dared a coworker to try it because it was so bad. He tried it and he felt the same way. It has almost no flavor, but what flavor it does have lingers in your mouth and grosses you out.

Who I'd recommend it to: 1.) People that like to give friends that lose bets something awful to eat. 2.) My enemies.

I should start off by saying I was not instantly a convert to Larabars. I tried a few of the flavors in the regular line (Larabars) and did not prefer them over other snack/meal bars. The Jocalat bars, however, changed my mind. I love how they are the perfect balance of fruits, nuts, and cocoa. You can taste all of the flavors and they all work really well together. The chocolate mint is my favorite because the mint has a really clean natural favor and compliments the chocolate well. It easily takes away my cravings for a chocolate bar. I also really enjoy the chocolate orange and chocolate cherry flavors that are in this line. Now if they just come out with a chocolate banana version I will be in heaven.

Despite all my raving it's still important to keep in mind that these DO NOT taste like a candy bar or a baked brownie. They definitely have more of a raw taste to them and you can still taste the dates so if you do not like the flavor of dates you may not like these. I also recommend that you try the flavors before committing to a whole case. I've found the Larabar flavors to be hit or miss with my personal tastes. There are some that I love and enthusiastically buy again and others that don't seem worth the calories.

Overall these are great and I like them so much better than Larabar flavors and have recommended them to many friends.

I thought these were way too dry AND the nuts seemed to cut my mouth. That combination turned me off to these bars completely. And they had so much potential...
I tried the Chocolate one, and it is perfect. Tastes very natural and not excessively sweet like some other brands. I will definitely be buying more.
I like these bars but strangely, they don't really taste like chocolate or orange. They have a very strong orange-y smell (like concentrated orange oil, orange extract, or lots of orange zest) and a zest-like flavor but again, not quite orange or chocolate. But I like them. Weird I guess but they're moist and dense and you can't beat the unctuous quality of a snack that feels naughty, fills you up, and yet is healthy and natural and actually good for you. I'm starting to really like Larabars and hope to try more flavors.
As indulgent as a fudge brownie. The richness comes from pure organic chocolate and luscious cashews - the satisfying crunch from almonds, walnuts, and whole cacao beans. Other benefits: 5 grams of natural fiber, more than 20% of the recommended daily value, as well as the almonds' 3 grams of Omega 6 essential fatty acids, and Vitamin E. Dates contribute to the 13 essential vitamins and minerals, and cashews are rich in iron, zinc and B Vitamins. Who knew a brownie could be so good for you?

(Simply Delicious)

(Can't Open)

(Agave)

(excellent!!)

(Not tonight, honey.)
This is a great sugar substitute. It is much better than all the artificial sweeteners on the market. It tastes just like a liquid sugar, but has a low glycemic rating. The price on Amazon is great; you would pay $4.99/bottle in the grocery store and here it works out to be $2.??/bottle. Great deal.
The package of the product is appealing, until it's ready to use.
There has been several methods used to open this product: pulling the nozzle, twisting the nozzle, squeezing the bottle, snipping the nozzle, etc.

What is the point of a nozzle that can't be used? Only by opening the entire top can the syrup flow, which produces a sticky residue and doesn't pour to well. How can you open this??

I love this product!!! I use this product daily and have shared it with family and colleagues. I highly recommend it as a sugar substitute.
this is an excellent product esp. for those who'd like to try&continue eating as naturally as possible.
When you want a syrupy sweetener that's delightfully neutral in flavor and doesn't threaten to put you in sugar shock, agave nectar is a good choice. Other syrups like honey and maple contribute a strong taste component to the foods they sweeten. Agave nectar seems to fade into the background providing only a mild enhancement for your foods and beverages. If you want more personality, by all means add a spice or extract.
Mild&delicious. Natural sweetener. Certified USDA organic. 100% Pure Agave Nectar. Agave Nectar is an exciting new natural sweetener made From the juice of the agave plant. Its delicious mild succulent flavor and satisfying sweetness are perfectly suited for all of your sweetening needs. Madhava's Agave Nectar has many fine qualities that make it ideal for all around use. Among them are its certified purity, consistent flavor, a high fructose content and a lengthy shelf life (won't crystallize). And, importantly, agave nectar has a low glycemic index that is beneficial for many. Plus, it is so easy to use because it pours and dissolves quickly, pours and dissolves quickly, even in cold food or drinks. But, best of all, it simply tastes great and enhances the flavors of any food it sweetens. Enjoy! Product of Mexico.

(Wonderful)

(World's Best Sausage)

(Genuine taste, great quality and grilled beautifully!)
I love their Italian sausage and much to my surprise in my last order there was a sample..nice size too of the Italian sausage with provolone and parsley. WE LOVED IT. Thanks Espositos for such wonderful products, service and sample...I give you 10 stars
The provolone and parsley sausage is hands down the best sausage I have ever tasted. It's a thin rope of sausage, absolutely no ick factor (you know, those "ew" items you sometimes bite into in other sausages).
We got our sausage right around Lent so could not eat it all and had to freeze half the portion. I was a little worried since I don't usually like defrosted meat, but finally grilled some up this weekend and the sausage tasted like it was made that morning! I am impressed at how lean the pork is yet flavorful and well balanced with the provolone cheese (which was melty when you bit into it). Not only does the sausage taste great, you can tell the meat is top notch quality.
Smoked, aged, extra-sharp provolone cheese and the bright notes of fresh organic parsley are combined to make this outstanding pork sausage. We think it pairs perfectly with broccoli rabe or just pin-wheeled with a skewer on the grill.

(Fun for all!)

(Fun for both boys and girls.)

(Very Cute)
We got this for my son's first birthday. The first kit had a drill that was broken (it didn't vibrate like it was supposed to), so we exchanged it for a second. My son LOVES to play with and chew on the various tools. The saw, hammer, ad screw driver are soft enough that he can play with them without our worries, but have a firm shape. He giggles every time we "screw in a screw" on his knee. He also loves the vibrating drill.
Melissa and Doug's Fill and Spill toolbox is a huge hit with both my granddaughter and grandson, 18 and 20 months of age, respectively. While the vibrating "power" drill was intriguing, they also enjoy "sawing" the Velcro-attached wood blocks apart and the other tools, too. I was very happy to find a safe and fun set of tools for young toddlers.
my sister is having a little boy and has chosen to decorate the nursery in little builder decor and this goes great with that theme. I threw the baby shower and for decorations made several mini diaper cakes and used these tools along with various other items to decorate the cakes with... very cute!
18 months&up. Develop the carpenter in every child as they develop important cognitive skills. Includes drill that vibrates, a hammer, screwdriver, saw, 2 screws, and 2 wood blocks! Machine washable.

(love these puzzles)

(Excellent)
I adore anything by melissa and doug, and they were delivered very fast and in great condition!, these are definitly a must have for every child.
I tried to edit the number of stars I had originally given this product. I had ordered previously the "Farm" chunky puzzle... I loved it. Each piece was hand painted, completely, and has exceptional quality. SO, for Christmas I ordered her 3 more... BUT, they aren't made the same. These puzzles (Sea Life, Safari, and Pets) are NOT painted. They simply have stickers slapped on the front. The sides and underneath are completely unfinished. As a result, after my toddler playing with them for only 6 weeks, they are starting to peel apart. The first PAINTED puzzle is 2 years old, and still in GREAT shape. I am really disappointed that these 3 were made so much more cheaply.
I just bought this for my[...] nephew and he loves it. The big pieces are great for little hands.
These wood puzzles from Melissa&Doug are great. The starfish on this one is tricky to put in however. Still a good buy.
My daughter loved this when she was two. The pieces are bright and durable. Excellent to help with shapes and vocabulary, though there aren't many pieces to talk about, I would buy it again. Melissa and Doug wood puzzles are such a great quality. A++++
Little ones can take the plunge with this colorful, chunky puzzle that's teeming with underwater creatures. The puzzle's thick wooden pieces all fit neatly into their spots on the colorful board, and they even stand up on their own for additional pretend play. Puzzle features full-color pictures beneath each piece. Measures 12"H x 11"W x 0.8"D.

My daughter just got these from her Aunt MoMo&Uncle Gee (aka Godfather) for her 1st bday. She loves carrying them around with her! Her kitchen should be here this week and these will be fun to play with in the kitchen in addition to her playing with them at her play table...lol :D They really look like the really deal. No plastic at all! They feel like solid wood!

(Slow Start)

(Like the Title, A Sweet Success!)

(Sweet romantic comedy)

(A pleasure to read)

(A satisfying treat)
I really like Susan Mallery, but this one was a little slow in the beginning hang in their it gets good...
I started reading Susan Mallery with the Marcelli family series and loved each book so of course, I had to get more of her books. Sweet Success was just as good.

It's the story of Ali, who owns her own chocolate shop and Matt, a loner with a past. The story of Ali and Matt moves at a nice pace. Ali's mother, Charlotte Elizabeth, a former movie star, adds humor with her pet pig, Miss Sylvie. I enjoyed the way the characters were all introduced and the way they interacted with each other. For me, it was one of those books that I hated to see end.

I am now going to start reading her series of Irresistible, Delicious, etc. and I'm sure they'll be just as good as her others. I hope she keeps writing these wonderful stories! It's a joy to find a new author to read that writes such wonderful books!

Chocolatier Ali is known for her confections and her open heart. She tends to take in strays - both the two legged and four legged variety, and makes secret truffle runs to the local health spa under the cover of night. With an abysmal love life and an aging diva for a mother whose soul purpose in life is to become a grandmother, Ali has her hands full.

When she hires a handyman to build new shelves in her stockroom, in walks Matt Baker, who appears to be a hollow shell of a man, haunted by a past he's trying to run away from. Matt figures her for a meddler; Ali figures Matt for person in need of not just her chocolate. The more they are around each other, the more Matt likes the eccentric Ali and her merry band of friends and family, and the more he opens up to her about his tainted past.

Mallery has penned a pretty formulaic and predictable romance, but the engaging couple and quirky secondary characters - particular mom and her pot-bellied pig Miss Sylvie keep the reader's interest. I have yet to read a Mallery-penned novel that I hate.

Ever since reading the Marcelli Family series (The Sassy One, The Marcelli Bride, etc...) I have become a huge Susan Mallery fan. I've gone back and started reading some of Susan's other work and when I came across 'Sweet Success', I didn't think it sounded like an especially good book. Was I wrong! I found this book very funny, the characters were colorful and likeable. The scenes where the characters become intimate were extremely well written and highly sensual. I don't want to give too much away because the plot isn't particularly deep or complex, however I strongly recommend this book. It was a pleasure to read!
With her firm belief that the world looks better after a hazelnut truffle (and she'll even do secret midnight chocolate runs to Santa Magdelana's health spas!), Allison Thomas is enjoying the sweet smell of success with her gourmet chocolate shop. Life is almost perfect except for her former movie-star mother's obsession with her lack of grandchildren, the lack of men in her daughter's life and the health of her pet albino pig, Miss Sylvie -- and not necessarily in that order. Another problem is the lack of organization in her storeroom, so when the local contractor sends over his new hired hand, Ali is hopeful that one of her troubles is over. What she gets is a gorgeous, slightly too thin handyman with empty, haunted eyes.

For the past year Matt Baker has been on the run. Moving from one small town to another and doing hard manual labor, all the while hoping to forget what he's left behind, Matt is a man with secrets. Big ones.

Trying desperately to stay emotionally numb, Matt rebuffs Ali's attempts to befriend him. Soon, however, the magical combination of Saint Maggie's relaxed atmosphere and whimsical residents -- especially a certain chocolate maker -- begins to slowly bring Matt back to life. An attraction develops between them and one night blazes out of control. But can their relationship survive when Matt's past catches up with him?

In her first mainstream romance, Susan Mallery provides readers with an enchanting feast for the senses. SWEET SUCCESS is a heartwarming tale of second chances and forgiveness with characters and a setting as rich and evocative as the finest box of chocolates. This book is one satisfying treat!

TheSchemer

Bestselling author Susan Mallery awakens the senses -- and fills the heart with warmth and laughter -- in this tantalizing novel of love's richest rewards.

The free-spirited owner of a booming chocolate emporium in Santa Magdelana, California, Allison Thomas is out to save the world -- one truffle at a time. Everyone adores Ali -- who wouldn't love a lady who sneaks midnight chocolate deliveries to the local health spa? And even if a string of crumbled relationships have put romance on hold, Ali's perfectly content with her life and her high-flying career. That is, until the mysterious Matt Baker stirs up her world....New to town, Matt quickly gets under her skin and leads her into temptation. But neither love nor chocolate seems to melt Matt's icy heart. Now, in a unique setting where luscious desserts, sweet wine, and fresh ocean breezes intoxicate the soul, it may prove impossible for either of them to resist this seductive recipe for a wondrously indulgent passion!

(Excellent and amazing review of the entire history of Civil Rights)

(A history of political reality)

(A panoramic history)

(A must-read to understand modern America)
Far too often the history of the Civil Rights movement in the United States focuses on the south and ends with the passage of the Civil Rights acts under the Johnson Administration. This book does a great job of showing that the North was in many cases as much of a battle ground for the civil rights movement than the south was. While many of the discriminatory laws were not codified like they were in the south, racism was as much of an institution in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York as anywhere else. Also, the north had the growing suburbs which always were opposed to any minority moving into their presence.

If you are interested in an eye opening examination of how the war to defeat racism was really an American fight, then I strong recommend you read Sweet Land of Liberty. It is certainly about the forgotten fight for civil rights.

Slavery was a Southern phenomenon, and the civil rights movement, in its most public aspect, focused on the South, a myopic viewpoint that ignored the very real battles that were being fought in the North. There is also a common myth that civil rights as a whole ceased to be a movement of any consequence after the 1960s. SWEET LAND OF LIBERTY addresses both misconceptions.

The author of this extensively researched history is Thomas J. Sugrue, whose first book, THE ORIGINS OF THE URBAN CRISIS, won the prestigious Bancroft Prize in History, the President's Book Award of the Social Science History Association, the Philip Taft Prize in Labor History, the Urban History Association Prize for Best Book in North American Labor History, and was selected as a Choice Outstanding Book. In 2005, Princeton University Press selected THE ORIGINS OF THE URBAN CRISIS as one of its 100 most influential books of the preceding century. Sugrue's academic career has been punctuated with activism, the combination making him well qualified to deal even-handedly with this subject matter. What he has written here is a history of political reality.

It is true that organization and activism came earlier to the North, where during the Great Depression and on through the aftermath of World War II, "devout churchwomen, lawyers, laborers, Democrats, Republicans, Socialists and Communists marched together on picket lines, lobbied public officials and joined in lawsuits against segregated housing and schools." The toil of Northern change agents fostered and informed the tactics used in the South, and the Southern initiatives and successes enheartened Northern activists. In the North, people of color were more likely to be able to attend public events and shop in the same stores with whites, but infamous unwritten "Jim Crow laws" prevented all blacks in the U.S. from, for example, being able to stay overnight while traveling in any but a few locations known through the elaborate cultural grapevine. Among these venues were the YMCAs in Northern cities where Christian principle had won out over racial bias, though not without the push of concerned citizens, including many strong, dedicated churchwomen of both races. These small victories were an inspiration to Southern blacks who either migrated North hoping for a brighter future or joined the battle at home in the 1960s.

But the right to watch a movie was hardly a satisfaction to masses of people living in poverty and losing out on the great dream of all Americans --- the right to an equal and excellent education. That right, it seemed, could not be made a reality despite all the legislation designed to guarantee it. The key to securing equality in public education lay in securing equality in housing. This was a drama that is still being played out in America. Gerrymandering had its nefarious role in underpinning de facto school segregation. Black neighborhoods could be written off the map, a racist tactic practiced on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line. School busing was one of many strategies to circumvent the phenomena of gerrymandering, ghetto-ization and "white flight," all of which left African American families in the dust and their children in schools as inferior as those of the years of legal segregation.

The book sings the unsung, people like Roxanne Jones, a southern migrant to Philadelphia, who, abandoned by her alcoholic husband, was challenged by the issues facing African American women in the projects. "Public housing never lived up to its promise. Cheap construction caused all sorts of problems...the corridors were dimly lit and dangerous. The lawns surrounding the towers were muddy and trash strewn." Unmarried mothers were under constant surveillance by welfare workers and increasingly marginalized by lack of employment, unfair credit practices and lack of representation within the systems that regulated their economic existence. Jones organized others and spearheaded initiatives to raise welfare rates (in the early 1970s, "a family of four barely survived on the average annual payment of $3,600). As Sugrue puts it, "Jones did not see litigation and community organizing as antithetical" and had no hesitation to lead protests, once getting arrested for throwing a shoe through a window of the Pennsylvania state capitol.

As Sugrue is careful to point out, whites in general have had more resources of social capital to bring to bear than their black fellow citizens. Withdrawal from mixed or marginal neighborhoods, or gentrification of historic areas forcing poor inhabitants out, has become new factors affecting the quality of schools and the livability of cities and towns. True integration in America is still a rarity.

SWEET LAND OF LIBERTY comes to us at a telling time in our nation's history when many of the struggles highlighted in its pages are still being fought in subtle ways as we face the hopeful future. It will be read by thoughtful students of our racial history. Perhaps by remembering the past, we will not be condemned to repeat it.

--- Reviewed by Barbara Bamberger Scott

Sweet Land of Liberty is a sweeping history of civil rights in the modern United States. This book challenges the conventional wisdom by moving past the well-told histories of the Jim Crow in South. Thomas Sugrue weaves together the life histories of important grassroots activists like Anna Hedgeman, Henry Lee Moon, Morris Milgram, Cecil Moore, and Roxanne Jones, national political figures, including Martin Luther King, Jr. and Presidents Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon, and civil rights groups big and small. There are lots of surprises in these pages. Southern historians focus on the sit-ins of 1960, but Sugrue shows that segregated restaurants, hotels, movie theaters, and pools were commonplace in the North all the way through the 1940s and 1950s. The book's most powerful chapter focuses on 1963, the year when all of the currents of civil rights and black power exploded on the streets of Harlem, Chicago, Newark, and even New Rochelle and Englewood. Sweet Land of Liberty also sweeps away the old histories by finding common links between civil rights and black power activists and bringing the story right up to the end of the 20th century. If you want to understand how and why Barack Obama was elected and what in race relations we have overcome and what we have not, Sweet Land of Liberty is essential reading.
Sweet Land of Liberty is one of the most eye-opening books I have ever read. The author is like a detective who has uncovered a whole world that we have completely forgotten. This book finally gives the northern history its due. I was especially interested in the author's mini-biographies of grassroots civil rights activists like Anna Arnold Hedgeman and Roxanne Jones. Most of them aren't household names, but they should be. Their stories are moving and powerful and bring the history to life. I couldn't put Sweet Land of Liberty down. This is a must-read book to understand the current state of race relations and civil rights in America.
The struggle for racial equality in the North has been a footnote in most books about civil rights in America. Now this monumental new work from one of the most brilliant historians of his generation sets the record straight.Sweet Land of Libertyis an epic, revelatory account of the abiding quest for justice in states from Illinois to New York, and of how the intense northern struggle differed from and was inspired by the fight down South.

Thomas Sugrue’s panoramic view sweeps from the 1920s to the present–more than eighty of the most decisive years in American history. He uncovers the forgotten stories of battles to open up lunch counters, beaches, and movie theaters in the North; the untold history of struggles against Jim Crow schools in northern towns; the dramatic story of racial conflict in northern cities and suburbs; and the long and tangled histories of integration and black power.

Appearing throughout these tumultuous tales of bigotry and resistance are the people who propelled progress, such as Anna Arnold Hedgeman, a dedicated churchwoman who in the 1930s became both a member of New York’s black elite and an increasingly radical activist; A. Philip Randolph, who as America teetered on the brink of World War II dared to threaten FDR with a march on Washington to protest discrimination–and got the Fair Employment Practices Committee (“the second Emancipation Proclamation”) as a result; Morris Milgram, a white activist who built the Concord Park housing development, the interracial answer to white Levittown; and Herman Ferguson, a mild-mannered New York teacher whose protest of a Queens construction site led him to become a key player in the militant Malcolm X’s movement.

Filled with unforgettable characters and riveting incidents, and making use of information and accounts both public and private, such as the writings of obscure African American journalists and the records of civil rights and black power groups,Sweet Land of Libertycreates an indelible history. Thomas Sugrue has written a narrative bound to become the standard source on this essential subject.

(Very inspiring!)

(with all due respect to Mr. Cohen)

(Not the Book to Start With)

(Fine Art Flower Photography: Creative Techniques and The Art of Observation)

(Too stylized)
I have read Sweet's "Fine Art Photography: Water, Ice and Fog" and was very inspired. Therefore, I decided to try one of his other books, and I was not disappointed! I find the photographs in this book very inspiring, and the stories behind the photos make them even more interesting. In this book he also explains some multi exposure shots so that you can try out the same technique yourself.

If you want some inspiration to take photos of flowers, this book is great!

With all due respect, Mr. Cohen, there is no photography without manipulation. The lens used, where one chooses to point it, the depth of field chosen, the film used, how digital files are processed, and as you say, "cropping," are all subjective interpretations. The only way to purely record nature's beauty is to look at and remember it. The moment it is recorded by an instrument by a human being, the image becomes subjective and interpretive and its purity is gone. It's the nature of the process.

And it is a fact that the quality of cameras and lenses used directly affect the quality of the file. P&S cameras with IS really can't hold a candle to a more professional system.

This is not really the book to start flower photography with. I say this for several reasons. It requires elaborate camera and equipment. It deliberately teaches techniques that distort the perspective that one might have using their own two eyes.

I am more of a purist and believe that Nature's beauty is everywhere and that it can be captured relatively simply using new and inexpensive digital cameras particularly those with image stability and macro functions built in.

I published an entire collection of photos without any manipulation except cropping to fit the page. Matt CohenZen of Watering Your Garden

This is a fabulous book! It has great ideas. The techniques used in each photo are described in easy to understand language. I also like the fact that there is not much written information so solely focused on each photo and how to produce the same image. Great book for the money!
The pictures in this book are very beautiful, but I was hoping for more discussion of the basics of outdoor nature/flower photography, like lighting and composition. This book spends a great deal of time with mutliple images and zooming and "special effects" which are interesting but not really helpful if you are trying to take better pictures of flowers. Also, it seemed sort of repetetive at times.
Acclaimed nature photographer Tony Sweet helps us to see a familiar subject through new eyes in this astonishing collection of flower photography. Ranging from the elegiac to the experimental, these pictures offer a kaleidoscopic survey of innovative photographic techniques--including multiple exposures and "slide sandwiching"--along with instructions for creating similar effects in your own photography. Perfectly balancing grace and spontaneity, Fine Art Flower Photography ensures that none of us will look at (or photograph) flowers the same way again.

 Smart Blonde

Smart Blonde is one of the largest factory-direct distributors of novelty aluminum signs and license plates in the U.S. and we are manufacturers too. Every item we carry is of the utmost highest quality aluminum metal because we believe it absolutely matters! We have compared plastic and the super heavy weight steel (3 lbs each) signs and license plates, as well as the very ultra thin lightweight aluminum embossed and non-embossed signs. Our conclusion was simple: Plastic was really just ok, steel was way too heavy to ship and stock and the ultra lightweight aluminum... well they just bend like a piece of paper.
