I found this product first at my local Target. I was totally grossed out by the animal parts on display as I looked for a treat for my Pomeranian. When I found these I was thrilled but not as thrilled as my dog when I gave her one! She loves them and runs to the drawer I keep them in when asked if she wants a sweet potato! The next time I tried to purchase them, Target no longer carried them. Amazon to the rescue!
Had to break the slices in half for my Terrier. The breaking in half left sharp points which I rounded off with scissors. Might be better for large dogs. Dogs love the taste but will never buy the slices again and will stick to the shape of Fr. Fries which are thinner and easier to chew (and safer).
I was thrilled to find these for our three labs. Sweet potatos are packed with tons of vitamins and good fiber. The pups loved them and I would rather they have these as treats than Milkbones any day of the week. As with introducing anything new into your dog's diet, expect some not-so-sweet potato gas from your dog.
Can't keep them around too long. Definitely worth using subscribe and save. Only issue is that they are made in China
Oh man, we've been searching for a treat that would take our chowhound cocker more than seconds to consume. These treats take him a couple minutes to eat and he sits patiently for me to give him one. They are great, all natural, and make me feel better than when I give them treats with filler crap in them.
Who knew sweet potatoes could be a dog's favorite treat?

My cats love this stuff! We plant it outside (enclosed area) in the warmer weather and inside in the winter for them. One cat begs to go outside just to eat her oat grass.
For the price I bought 10 packets to stock up. Big mistake. They all expire in 3 months! I planted half a packet and hardly any seeds sprouted. A big disappointment and a waste of my money. I would love to exchange the dead seed packets for some that may sprout with a better expiration date.
I planted the seeds and in less than a week, there was sprouting. The grass grows tall. My cat and both dogs can't get enough of it.
Wow this product was easy to grow. I just filled a shallow container with some soil spread the seeds out on top covered the seeds with a little more soil and watered thoroughly but not enough to make it swampy. and these seeds took off! In just a few days I had 1 inch spoutings everywhere. In a couple more days they were around 4 inches. By the 10th day they were almost fully grown. The cats I grew this for thoroughly enjoy it. Heck I had to numerously protect the sproutings from the cats it was just so enticing to them. Just remember to keep the soil moist and not to let it dry out or the grass will wilt and fall over. But not to worry watering it should bring it back in a day or two.
Take home a packet for a cat or a cat-lover you know. Sweet oats are easy to grow indoors, year 'round. Some say oats aid feline digestion and eliminate hairballs. Whether or not that's true, cats do love to nibble tender, sweet oats. So much in fact that oats are sold as "catgrass." Growing is simple. Fill a shallow bowl or saucer with moist potting soil, sprinkle oats over the soil at about 10 seeds per square inch. Lightly press the seed into the soil Then just set the container on a windowsill, and keep it evenly moist not wet or dry. Germination is in about 5 days. Your only problem will be keeping your cats away from the grass.

I bought this for my daughter a month ago. She is now 10 months. She loves puppets so I though this would be a good fit. She watches this video intently and loves it. I find it entertaining. I've seen it at least 2 dozen times. I like Benny, the surly, angry rabbit who is the bellhop. He keeps it entertaining for adults with his sarcastic quips. Highly recommended if your kids like puppets. It will keep them entertained while learning about numbers.
This is a cute video with some catchy tunes ("one, two three, count with me, we'll count everything around us that we do and hear and see!"). It's not old enough to appeal to parents like me who like Sesame Street nostalgia and want to introduce their kids to the genius of Jim Henson. (Ernie, in particular, is without his characteristic mischief.) But, it's not new enough to be instantly recognizable to the kids of today. I'll put this video on without complaint when my daughter asks for it (she does like it) but it's not one of the first ones I reach for. I like the Count's "Count It Higher" much better.
i got this video several moths ago from a local store and my daughter (2 1/2) loves it! it has helped her with her numbers and she even sings along with all the songs now. it's really cute! my 7 month old seems to enjoy it too :)
it simi-ly kept my nephew entertained which is a very hard thing to do he doesnt like to just sit there and do nothing so i think its ok for little kids!
This is a pretty entertaining video as far as the Sesame Videos go. I don't mind watching this one with my son. Good songs and enough action to keep him entertained.

Children love Thomas the Tank Engine. They love to watch it over and over, and I have to say, even for grownups, the first time can be entertaining!
I like the new setting in the mountains for this "alternate" "indie" :-) railroad for the narrow gauge engines! it's fun and well made altough my toddler misses more appearances of the traditional engines.
This is a great DVD. My son has many Thomas DVD's and this one is his favorite. He watches it over and over again. There are a lot of different engines in it so it holds his interest.
My son LOVES Thomas the Tank Engine, and this is a movie he watches over and over!

This CD really makes the people who hear it happy, reminding them of 'simpler' days.
The MP3 album download is a totally different track list. The tracks are not the standards that you're looking for.
My husband, a WWII veteran, loves the big band music of his day. He really enjoys listing to this Glenn Miller CD that I ordered for him as he drives around town.
This is my treasure. This cd hopefully will last my lifetime. I was very disappointed when i got my second dvd........ It said or led me to believe the Glenn Miller was on film, as it stated on the front of it. It was all music,....nofilming. Iam searching for the movies "Sun vally Seranade" and orchestra wives" Glenn Miller played in both. Can you help me? Thank you .........Betty
My Grandmother turned me on to Glenn Millers music a few years ago, when I was in my early 30's. I am now in my late 30's and I still love it. Glenn's music is timeless and still sounds so good. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of taking my Grandmother to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra perform live and it was absolutely astounding. This cd really captures the magic of Glenn Miller at his best. I highly recommend this cd to everyone.

In this hysterical episode, Wishbone plays the character Odysseus in Homer's the Odyssey. Odysseus is prisoner of the goddess Calypso. Odysseus has an enemy as well named Poseidon god of the sea. Odysseus must escape the goddess and get past Poseidon to get back home and save his family. Back in Oakdale a big developer is trying to turn Joe and his friend's favorite hangout (Jackson Park) into a parking lot for a new restaurant. But Joe, Samantha, David, and of course Wishbone aren't going to let that happen without a fight!

Wow, what a great episode this one was, because this kind of stuff happens in real life. (Talking about the developer trying to cut down the trees in Jackson Park) It always stinks when nature gets destroyed because some people want to make an extra few bucks and this episode really teaches children and adults to stand up for what they think is right.

Well to cut to the chase this is a great episode and you gotta go watch it! : )

"Homer Sweet Homer" is one of the most hilarious Wishbone movies of all time! My favorite part was when Odysseus and his son are forcing the thugs out of their house.
It begins with Odysseus being trapped by a goddess (who also plays Joan in another Wishbone). The godess decides to let him go. When Odysseus is floating away in his boat, a sea god makes a storm so that Wishbone has to swim. Swimming is one thing that Wishbone doesn't like! Will he make it?!?!?!

"Homer Sweet Homer"is one of the rare episodes of"Wishbone,"the creative kid's show about the world's most imaginative Jack Russell terriers, where the story and the literary work do not fit properly. In the real world a developer has come to Oakdale to destroy Jackson Park and the kid's favorite tree. Of course, they band together to fight the good fight. Meanwhile, Wishbone is imagining himself to be Odysseus involved in a heroic quest to save his home. I can accept that the kids are involved in a quest of sorts, but Homer's"Odyssey"is more about trying to get home, not to save it, per se, and does not involve any sort of physical destruction of property (Penelope just claims to have moved their bed, the headboard of which is a tree; it is never in danger). Maybe the writers were just too enamored with their cute title for this episode. However, apart from that one complaint, which will not occur to the countless elementary school students who have yet to get around to reading Homer's epic poem, this is a solid episode of the series. Kids are never too young to learn that if they band together in a righteous cause it is possible they can win out against the big bad world.
I must start this by saying that I am an adult. I happen to be flipping the channels about three years ago after getting home from work and found the Wishbone series on PBS. I was immediately hooked! I have been watching ever since. I love all the Wishbone episodes, but this particular one is in my top 5. I find that the ones that I like the best are not released on video at this time. I can't wait until all the episodes are released because I would buy them all! I really like how each episodes shows a shortened version of the classic story, and then has a modern story that correlates. So far, there has only been one edisode that covered a book that I had not read, so I immediately read that one as well. Not to mention that this show has one incredibly CUTE dog!

(Compelling Drama!!)

I saw this in the mid-70s on Irish television. Never met anybody else here or there who saw it; only saw it that once; not a subject that I have any particular interest in; and, by the way, am really, really bad at noticing or remembering pop culture/media stuff. But this one little drama has stuck with me so well that I've thought of it 5 or 6 times a year for 30-plus years. I still remember individual shots and lines from it. --Since I never saw it again I have no idea whether it's all that great or not, where it stands in cinematic history etc., but I think it's worth presenting this as evidence that it has something to offer: it penetrated one normally dim little mind so well as to be literally unforgettable. --Another point: in h.s. we were told that Upton Sinclair had changed American history w/ The Jungle. I guarantee that no one you show this to will ever slough off the topic of migrant workers again.
This movie is a compelling drama about migrant farmworkers focusing on one family featuring Sissy Spacek.It's a must see!!

You can find similar grade maple syrup at Sams or Costco for much less. The product is great (5*) but not happy with Amazon's pricing (1*).
This is the best maple syrup I have tasted. It has the perfect balance of sweetness and maple flavor. I am glad I tried it!
I was raised on the sugar water for $1.50 from Wal-Mart. Then my wife, from New England, introduced me to real maple syrup. Now, the challenge is to figure out how to afford it.

Amazon's Prime automatic delivery option has a price cheaper than my local Wal-Mart or HEB, and that's with free 2-day shipping.

I don't know which grade to order, but "A" seems like it ought to be OK!
The taste of this is sooooooo good. You must indulge in pure maple syrup, you will never go back.
I purchased the Maple Syrup on line due to the savings. We only use real Maple Syrup and if you stick to Grade A then the only consideration is the price.

FRS concentrate is ideal for those people who drink FRS on a regular basis. Each 32 oz. bottle contains a 1-2 week supply of FRS and fits conveniently in your refrigerator. The concentrate is great for adding to your favorite smoothie, seltzer water or juice blend. Each serving of concentrate is powered by 250 mg of quercetin.
Save your money and get quercetin - the active ingredient in FRS - directly and much more cheaply via capsules from a reputable company not FRS. Despite what the company says the science is not clear that quercetin does anything anyway; it may have some benefits as an antioxidant which is why I take one pill of it a day but this is more in hope than expectation. The rest is expensive sugar water, caffeine (sorry, I mean "metabolic enhancer") and marketing.
I have used FRS for a month now and have been somewhat surprised with the results. It's not an over the top, jittery buzz, it's like a guide to clarity, for a couple of hours. The only thing I don't like are the chews. If I'm away from home and don't have the orange concentrate with me I'll rely on a chew or two, but I wont mix the drink and the candy in the same day. I got a little too jittery and felt a bit nauseous one evening.
And another thing, the label makes me feel like I' part of some lab experiment.

This has an enzyme like grapefruit that is contraindicated for statins. DO NOT TAKE if you are on Lipitor.
This drink is like drinking orange juice except you do get eneryg from it. I work a lot of hours and it has helped me keep going. The drink also works on your appetite so you don't eat a lot of junk food while you are working a lot of hours. I will order more!
I have tried the many energy boosters out there and they all leave me weak and jittery at the end of the cycle. Which made me feel like it just isn't healthy to use.

I started using this product thinking I would see no results and I have seen a huge change. I already use Dr. Sinatras vitamins and eat very healthy, but I also do sport performance training for skiing. I swear it just makes me happy and I do not feel the regular drain that you can get from post out.

Less lactic acid and a higher tolerance endurance training.

I love the stuff!!!

I take it in the morning pre work out and then during the day about 3:00 when I usually need a cup of coffee. It kicks in about 45 minutes later.

Hey, let me just say that if you love greasy, filmy, lifeless hair, this is THE product for you! I'm not the type of person that uses something once and then posts an irate review slamming it. I give things a fair shot. I give them many shots, to be honest. I used the sweet almond mint cleanser for an entire week, following EXACT instructions and my hair came out flatter, greasier, more limp than ever before! :) It smells fabulous, I'll give it that. I think it would work really great if you have super dry, dehydrated, over processed hair, overly bleached-out hair but for most people this stuff is way too rich! I have found a wonderful place in my wastebasket for it and have gone back to my Pantene for curls line. All is well with the world again! :)
I am unfortunately often hypersensitive to beauty products so was estatic to be able to try this without the downside of being enrolled in one of those promotions where they will continue to send you future shipments on a regular basis. Even though it costs a little more this way, I'm not buying more product than I can use and was able to try it out- perfect solution. I did find that if I used it 3 times in a row I developed a rash but I am overly sensitive. By using it intermittantly I can enjoy it's qualities without reaction. It really is amazing for the hair. I have passed on trying out a lot of products because of the 'auto-enrollment' so thank you Amazon for making this one available. Easy to order, came in just a very few days, love the stuff.
Ok, this product takes patience&an open mind! I've battled, suddenly, with dry scalp&previously tried this product but didn't take time to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! I just bought it again&I can officially say it is the best&I'll NEVER go back to regular "shampoo". Fist wet hair well put in alot of product, I start @ the front of my hair&add product as I move to the nape of my neck, when I have enough Wen in I start to use the same scrub motion as I would w/ reg shampoo you have to scrub&massage, then I'll run fingers through to detangle&ensure product is dispersed evenly, leave it on shave, wash up etc... then rinse well, colder water works best&just when you think it's all out rinse some more! When I'm done I use 1 pump as leave in&remember don't be rough when drying your hair just wrap hair up&let it dry no rubbing! It's so good I just ordered a gallon size in Sweet Almond Mint! Try it!
I have been using this product for just under a year and I love it. The almond mint is such a great scent. It takes a few washes to get used to how it works, but it leaves my hair in incredible condition. I use it as a leave in conditioner also despite the fact that my hair is somewhat fine. Using it helps my colored red hair maintain its first week look much longer.
I really enjoy Chaz Dean's Wen conditioner because it works as he claims it does. It keeps my hair really clean without drying it out or making it greasy. I much prefer this product to all others I've tried.

I gave this a gift to a chocolate lover, and she loved it. She actually hid it from everybody else so she wouldn't have to share it. This is a 30 year old woman. Well anyways just be aware that its a very small package so don't expect to dazzle anybody with size; however, it comes very nicely packed.
I've had several different kinds of chocolate and have had the pleasure of trying several kinds of Leonidas products offered. This one happens to be my favorite for many different reasons. I like it's soft, smooth, melt in your mouth with a hint of almond and hazelnut flavor. It's pure heaven. They are very rich and I can't have more than one or two a day, but it's awesome.

If you've never tried Leonidas Chocolates or have always thought other chocolates were just as good (Godiva, etc...) then I highly recommend Leonidas Assortment Product (see link below) to try the various styles and chocolates offered.

I promise you wont' be sorry and you'll love the service of this company as well!!!

For those who have never tasted a creamy hazelnut/almond/chocolate praline, you must try this! It's Nutella times 100!! Keep in mind it is very rich and creamy. Leonidas also has a Gianduja Emballee which is pure hazelnut/chocolate paste, which is to die for! And for all those comments I see about Godiva comparisons, pah-lease...it's apples and oranges. Americans do not know that there is better chocolate out there. People- take a journey beyond Godiva and you'll never go back. Promise! :)

This is of such low quality and design you would think it came from a dollar store. At any hose volume the water will not properly spray onto the runway. The runway ripped in 2 places within 20 minutes. It is the lightest weight plastic possible, a ziploc bag is more resilient than the material used for this toy. A tremendous waste of money and time. What is most frustrating is the disappointment of my sons who were so eager to enjoy this toy.
I am not sure why they chose to put such poor plugs in the "weights" for the shark. The first time we used it, the bags kept unplugging, thus letting out all the water and air. The shark won't stand up without it, and it is a real pain to put more water in. After 4 times, I gave up. And the kids don't really have fun while their toy is being fixed every two minutes. Would NOT recommend - ESPECIALLY since I did not buy it at a discount.
My 5 year old son has been begging for this ever since he saw the commercial on TV. I read all the negative reviews, and even discussed the reported "poor durability" of this product with him, but he was "willing to take the risk" so we decided to give it a try as a treat to bring to Father's day BBQ with the cousins. What a hit! No problems whatsoever and three kids (4, 5 and 7) played with it for hours. Set-up was very easy with a foot pump, the seams were all intact (no leaks of any kind), and the 3-D effect of the shark's mouth was clear to everyone who wore the goggles. Maybe there is some hit-or-miss quality control with the manufacturing of this product, but ours was fine and the kids loved it.
I have 2 small children (2 and 3) and they have wanted this product since the first time they saw the commercial. Dad surprised them with it the other afternoon, and as soon as we hooked the hose up to it, the main seem split open. we had to put the sprinkler up next to the slide part so that it would stay wet enough for them to truly use it, I took it back the next morning and exchanged it for a new one. I set up the new one and one of the retainer walls for the "pool" area had a hole in and would not hold water. I took it back AGAIN and got a refund. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! very poorly made!!
My kids begged us for this product so finally my husband surprised them one afternoon. They were so excited they jumped up and down and screamed for joy. I wish I had read the reviews first. My kids are little, 5 and 7 and under 55 pounds. Within 10 minutes 2 huge seems split wide open and the slide was no longer usable. I set the slide up on very nice grass with no rocks or sticks anywhere, so I know we didn't do anything wrong. If a product can't hold up to my 2 string beans, it obviously was made very poorly. Now I have a couple of very disappointed sad kids.

My fiance and I have enjoyed this game. It made a great change of pace from other card/board games we played. It's easy to learn, and there is a good bit of strategy. I will note that you have to work on compromise with this game, which is a good thing to practice.
The rules to the original card game were difficult to understand and didn't seem fun. When you add the wild cards and play the more modern version, it is just like skip-bo.
Was taught this classic card game by a 90-year-old friend who's been playing it all her life and taught all her twelve children . . . had a ball playing it with her and bought it for Christmas for several friends who also like playing card games! The bigger the group, the better the game, as things move faster. We even tweaked the rules and let everyone play at once - a whole new game!
Our family loves this game. We play it at my In-Laws, who have had it for years. We wanted one for our immediate family, but could not find it in stores. I was happy to find it on Amazon, and the children were thrilled to open it on Christmas.
My family has had a set of Flinch cards as long as I can remember. My mom and I still play every time I visit.
Game play requires a good bit of strategy, but there's also luck in the order one draws cards. The combo makes it a fun game where everyone has a shot at winning.

My son received this for his second birthday. It was an instant hit. He likes to cut the pizza and roll out the dough. (We received a rolling pin as well.) He is less interested in the toppings. So, three stars for that.

But only three stars because it had terrible chemical off gassing for weeks after it came out the packaging. Nasty, nasty chemical smell. And the paint is really poorly applied with missing spots, chips, and already some wear and tear from very modest use. Like a lot of MIC M&D, this is really junky. Now if only Plan Toys made a better version...
My four year old and two year old love to play with the Melissa&Doug pizza pie. It is the one toy they actually share nicely. Everything else we have to get two of. Their is a pizza cutter, spatula, six pizza slices and 50 toppings which store neatly in a wooden box. The recommended age is 3+, but my two year old fortunately does not place toys in her mouth. With that being said, the topping pieces are on the smaller side, but big enough that a child under the age of three should not be able to swallow. We love all Melissa&Doug toys. They are very durable, educational and fun.
I purchased this game for my special education classroom. It has been a great tool in helping my students learn to take turns, make requests, and increase vocabulary - all while playing with one of their favorite foods! The durable wood pieces make it sturdy enough for my students. I wish that the box had a lid on it to make storage easier. There are lots of pieces with no where to go but on the floor.
I love Melissa and Doug toys, they are a little pricier than some but are quality poducts, the kids love to play with them, they are very realistic and they last forever. Whith a little care my grand daughter's children will be playing with these toys. Wooden toys are great. My grand children are still playing with Fisher Price Toys that were my daughter's, and Melissa and Doug toys are of the same caliber.
Like all Melissa and Doug toys this is well made and durable. My grandchildren love playing with it. I have bought one for both of my daughter's families with young children. It is educational as well as fun.

This book was fourth in a series, I discovered once I started reading it. Normally I don't like to start in the middle of a series, but I had no trouble with this one. I liked the town, I liked the main character Jeanette, the secondary story about Mary Vaugn was good, the love interest (Tom) was OK, and Jeanette's friends were very well-written. What I didn't like was the hokey stupid over-emphasis on the Christmas festival, the forced angst on the part of Tom about his miserable childhood Christmases, and the way Tom&Jeannette just kind of decided to get married after all even though they still had some major issues over their different approach to their careers and where they would live. The difficulty Jeannette had with Christmas was explained well and brought to a proper end, but Tom's situation was just dumb and his parents were mean one minute, then nice&quirky, then mean again, then cute and quirky. The last part of the book basically set up Tom and Jeannette to eventually get a divorce after having major fight after major fight since he never bothers to consult her on any of his big decisions. I didn't like him very much. I don't think I'd recommend this book, to be honest, when there are so many better ones out there. I can't say it was bad, but I had enough problems with it that it won't be on my forever shelf.
This book arrived in pretty good condition - a small bit worn - and arrived on time.
I read the first three books in the series, and they were all enjoyable. This book was a disappointment -- I couldn't figure out the characters. They kept acting out of, well, character. His father's a bear, then he's not, his mother's ok, then she's not. I agree with the other reviewer that the ending was very sudden and not satisfying. I actually preferred the subplot of Mary Vaughn to the main plot, although I think Ms. Woods took the easy way out there, too. Jeanette&Tom were very likable, I just don't know if the way it played out was consistent with what we learned about the characters as the story unfolded. A lot of sharp turns in motivation&reactions. It's almost like the author had a deadline to meet and sacrificed the quality of the series in the process.
Sherryl Woods is a wonderful writer, and really did a great job on this book. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I read this book in one night. After reading the first three in the series, I feel like I personally know the characters and all of the major characters from the first three books were in this one. I loved Tom's persistence in gaining Jeanette's trust. Although I was not as interested in the secondary story, it certainly did nothing to take away from the overall story. If I have any complaint with the book, it is in the way Ty and Annie were thrown in at the end as a precursor to the next book. It felt too artificial somehow to have them suddenly mentioned in the last few pages. Of course, that's not to say I won't immediately buy and read their story!

When Jeanette Brioche helped launch The Corner Spa in Serenity, South Carolina, she found a whole lot more than professional satisfaction. She discovered the deep and loyal friendships that had been missing from her life. But even the Sweet Magnolias can't mend the terrible rift between Jeanette and her family or persuade her that the holidays are anything more than a season of misery.

Pushed into working on the town's much-loved annual Christmas festival, Jeanette teams up with the sexy new town manager. Tom McDonald may be the only person in Serenity who's less enthused about family and the holidays than she is.

But with tree decorations going up on the town square and a bit of romance in the air, Jeanette and Tom take a fresh look at the past and a hopeful look into the future. Together they discover that this just may be a season of miracles after all.

After reading all 3 books (really, the 4th could be considered 2 books!)I can honestly say I am completely in love!

Libba Bray has done an excellent job taking us back to Victorian times where woman are bred to be mothers and housewives thinking of nothing but "England." I enjoy these types of books on their own. But, once you add magic, realms, dreams, betrayal, death, secrets, and LOVE...boy have you got my attention!

These books are an EXCELLENT read, I highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys ecsaping into fanstasy and love. The last 4 chapters of book 3 (The Sweet Far Thing) had me crying, even after the book was closed.

Really, I could go on and on about how much I love these books...
I wanted so much to complete this series, but I absolutely couldn't. I stopped reading the 3rd book at page 427. The book dragged on and on without any REAL substance. I dreaded picking up the book, until one day...I just decided to RETURN IT back to the library.
I love the writer. I love the series, and this book was as excellent as the other two. A "must read"....
Gemma Doyle is the worst kind of unreliable narrator. It's not that she herself is untrustworthy, but that throughout this trilogy, she can't figure out who to trust. As a result, the reader never knows who to trust, or what the rules are for "realms" or for the magic that inhabits them. This is problematic if one agrees (which I do) with the general rule for fantasy writing that the rules for the world that the author has created must be clear and consistent. If neither the reader nor the narrator know the rules or who to trust, the story doesn't hang together very well. At least, it doesn't in this case. Some of the people we initially think are friends become enemies, and then some become friends again, and it is never through actual shifting loyalties, but because Gemma doesn't ask the right questions and rarely takes the time to think things through the reader is never quite sure who's on what side. So although she's the only clearly identified "good guy" in the story, I couldn't help but wish she acted more like the heroine she's supposed to be.
I really like this one 'coz it kept me guessing who the villain was and I wasn't able to figure it out until almost at the end. I like that because the author did not give any clues or whatsoever to really tell the reader that the villain is who she is. I just recommend reading this one because I can't really review it without giving spoilers. Nice Book! We can't always have our happy ending..

Mike Baxter's decision to cheat on Leslie Dicks' sister is the final straw. Leslie warned him what would happen and now he's pushed her too far. Of course Mike doesn't believe she's really a witch so how was he to know that she'd actually lay a curse on him and all his brothers? It won't affect them all at once either; first to suffer the effects of the curse will be twin brothers Trent and Shawn.

Three weeks after being cursed, Mike consults witch Lillie Mae for help with Trent and Shawn's little problem. They've been shrunk down so small that they're living in a doll house - and Mike brought them to Lillie Mae in a shoe box. Unfortunately fixing the problem isn't going to be as easy as any of them hope. This magic is a little beyond her realm - its fairy magic.

THE COWBOYS CURSE series is off to quite a fascinating start with this fast paced quirky storyline. Jenny Penn combines the wicked sexiness of cowboys with the fantasy of fairies and she puts a unique spin on both that really keep this story hopping. I got a huge kick out the Baxter brothers heckling each other and how they seem to not take their relationships with women seriously - as demonstrated by Mike cheating on Leslie's sister. What I especially appreciate about this story is the dynamics of Anna May's relationship with Shawn and Trent. She's a strong woman with definite ideas and no sweet talking or demanding cowboy is going to get her to change her opinions or dreams. I have to admit, I'm now anxious for the next addition to this series and revisiting the Baxter brothers.

Love my boots. I have been looking for something different and finally got them. You can wear them fold or unfold. Sole keeps you out from the freeze floor. Look nice with skirts or thight jeans. And thank you guys at Amazon they arrived really fast!!
I have difficult feet and need strong arch support and have trouble finding boots to accomodate that. These are great....cool looking with arch support. I love them! The picture doesn't do justice to the fact that you can unfold the top and wear them much higher than you see.

I enjoyed this movie and have told others about it as well. I didn't realize it was made by a private Christian college until looking it up here at Amazon with the purpose of buying the DVD. I had watched it as a video on demand. If you like family movies with good moral developments as well, you'll enjoy this film.
For traditional values families, especially religious families, any movie that is subtlety based on Scripture has to be well worth watching. This is actually a (university) student project movie, but it is done in every way as professional as the best of what Hollywood produces. It will hold the interest of both the kids - my grandson was five when he saw it - and their parents, so it truly is a great family movie. Roy is fascinated by the 'ghost' of the cave, and sets out to solve the mystery. Along the way, it seems that the ghost does good deeds for the people in the community. When the mystery is solved, it is made clear that the basis for the good deeds was to follow Jesus' teaching that when you have done it the least of these, you have done it to Me. I can hardly think of a better movie for families.

In response to the one-star reviewers, I'd say that their reviews reveal their bias against anything Christian - even when it is as subtle as its presented in this movie - more than their ability to judge movies. As of this writing, I have about 4,000 DVDs of live-action movies for kids, about kids, or appropriate for kids (e.g. Historical stories, nature, biographies, etc.), I watch as many as 35 movies a week and write reviews of them when I am writing at my mountain cottage. Therefore, I think I can say that I have a pretty broad basis from which to judge movies, especially those pertaining to children and teens. The 'Secret of the Cave' easily come in among the top 5% of movies made for or about kids, especially for families that want to instill good character and long-established traditional values. It may not be 'politically correct' to advocate orthodox morality, but Universal laws cannot be changed by personal opinions. For those who believe that there is a right and wrong, and who believe that doing good deeds for people in need (personally, NOT through the government) is indeed as if it was done for the Lord, this movie is top notch.

[Maybe I need to add that I am Catholic and not Adventist, and that I do not know any of this group (although I do know many Hollywood stars and movie crew members). I worked for about five years making TV and theatrical movies.]
Whether the film intended a "Christian theme" or not, it shares a sense of humanity and warmth appreciated by many of us. These are people who appear real, not artificial nor unbelievable. No explosions, shootings, crashing cars, profanity, or threats of physical violence. Just people, people with human strengths and weaknesses, who care about each other. Upon first viewing, I had no intention of comparing this film to any of the great masterpieces from film history; however, I was surprised to read that the project was a student effort. Although I felt that the end of the story line could have had more clues leading to it and not been quite so arbitrary, the production was fairly successful. I recommend it not only to families but also to any person who also cares about other people.
I loved the book as a kid, and I thought that the movie was a great version of the book. The accents were a little hard to understand so when I found the subtitles to the movie, that was a great help.
I thought this was a great family movie! The scenery was breathtaking and the little Irish village where it was filmed was quaint. The movie has a mystery that has you wondering to the end. I thought the actors did an excellent job, and I can see why this movie received the Heartland Crystal Heart Award. It has a good moral and I would like to see more films like this. I have bought some of the DVD's and am going to give them as Christmas gifts. We need some wholesome viewing like this out there for a change! I would recommend this to anyone and give it an A+ rating!

I love this movie, and with the right expectations and temperament, you might too. Its a comedic horror, with acting purposely over the top, but, IMHO, not so much that its annoying. It strikes, to me, the right balance on all fronts without being annoying, but still being highly entertaining. FYI - I tend to absolutely hate slapstick humor, and I think this achieves the goals of a good comedy, and should appeal to men in their 20-30s. There's a good bit of oddly adult-ish/domestic humor to enjoy.

I saw Emily Foxler in something else, was smitten, and had to buy this movie as a result. And I was pleasantly surprised. The movie is pretty hilarious. If you're in the mood for a horror-spoof, this is a good bet.
This was a hillarious horror comedy. This movie put me in stitches very funny and a funny cameo by Bobby lee.
Killer Pad may be built on clichés and teen-humor stereotypes and conventions, but it's still a very funny movie. Some of the credit naturally goes to director Robert Englund, but it's really the cast who carry this movie on their backs without ever letting it fall or flounder. The trio of losers at the center of the story could easily have become tediously annoying or unbearably stupid, but that just doesn't happen. Heck, I actually liked these guys. Yes, this is definitely a dumb comedy with horror overtones, and, yes, it will primarily appeal to adolescent males, but that doesn't mean that the rest of us can't enjoyit, too. Shoot fire, you've got comical situations, a scattering of great one-liners, a bevy of attractive young ladies, and even successful cameos by the likes of Joey Lawrence, Andy Milonakis, and Mad TV's Bobby Lee.

Best buds Brody (Shane McRae), Craig (Eric Jungmann), and Doug (Daniel Franzese), having finally moved out of their parents' houses, leave Illinois behind and head to L.A. to begin their lives anew. After some initial housing problems, local real estate agent Winnie (Bobby Lee) hooks them up with a sweetheart of a deal - a low-cost mansion located at 666 Perdition Road. The place is a portal to hell, but the guys think the fiery pit in the basement is a sewage problem and blame homeless "squatters" (like the Mexican dude who keeps trying to warn them that the devil lives there) for whatever problems creep up. With bodaciously fine neighbors like Lucy (Emily Foxler) and her friends Delilah (Noureen DeWulf) and Jezebel (Corri English), these guys aren't going anywhere. In fact, they start planning a killer party for their killer pad, hoping to score major points (or really just to score, period) with the girls.

It is a truly happening party. Lucy managed to get Demon Semen to perform (the girls just love Demon Semen, don't you know), and the partygoers include a bevy of beauties (including a couple of porn stars and a gang of Catholic school girls) and even Joey Lawrence (as himself). Unfortunately, as the party really begins to heat up, a series of unfortunate, freak party "accidents" leave several people quite dead - but the guys aren't going to let a little thing like that ruin such a killer party, especially since they haven't scored with their hot chicks yet. Will the guys ever realize what is really going on inside their house?

Quite frankly, I don't understand this film's R rating. There is no nudity to speak of (apart from a couple of male back sides), the language is far from extreme, most of the toilet humor is limited to one scene, and none of the deaths are really gory. I don't like the DVD box cover, either, as it makes the film look cartoonish. It's dumb, but it's not cartoonish.

Obviously, some viewers consider Killer Pad to be unwatchable rubbish, but I loved it. Maybe some, seeing that the film was directed by Robert Englund, expected this to be a horror film, and others just didn't appreciate the type of humor on display here. Any dumb comedy like this is always going to have its share of critics, but I hope the bad reviews aren't going to turn people away. Give this film a chance, and you just might find it as funny and entertaining as I did.
PROS:

-The sole dvd "Bonus Feature" shows what I believe is the cutting edge of HD Film-making (Yes REALLY!), but I'm certainly NOT an expert. HD Camera + Hard Drive + Magic Black Box Thingy = Instant "Dailies" with on-the-fly color correction, or something like that. Apparently, they were the first to do it.

Anyway, this "Behind the Scenes" featurette lasts for what seemed about 10 minutes. The folks who made this film are obviously "technically" gifted. Unfortunately for me, SMART CREW + STUPID IDEA = NOT-HAPPY-RENTER-PERSON!

CONS:

-The maturity level of the director and male crew members appears to be stunted at, I'm guessing, MAYBE 11, but not in a funny "aren't we a bunch-of-complete-idiots" sorta way. It's more of a "my, aren't we a frightened-bunch-of-homophobes with a strange on-going fascination with JOEY LAWRENCE, Hot Tubs, ETERNAL DAMNATION, and PRE-OP Transexuals" kinda thing.

-It's been a while since I rented this, but I seem to remember that the female characters were all written as complete wh*res and b*tches, unless of course they're "unattractive" in which case they're just HAGS!!! Again, I think it helps us see what these guys are attracted to and repelled by.

-And finally, the biggest "CON" that comes to mind is the amount of time that you'll lose by watching this film that you will NEVER EVER EVER GET BACK! Save yourself some time&money and just punch yourself in the "SHAMA-LAMA-DING-DONGS". And you'll feel SO MUCH BETTER afterwords.... or you'll pass out, which is good too.

I wasn't really expecting much from this game, but unfortunately it doesn't meet even the most basic elements for fun. Well, maybe if you are under 12 and want to be an interior designer someday it might be interesting enough. The game play is very easy with basic graphics that look like something from 10 years ago. Three cartoonish characters help you "build" your design. All you have to do is choose pre-existing furnishings within a budget according to your clients desires. That isn't too difficult when there are only three style choices to begin with: Asian, Country and Retro. Once you have added a few items to the room, which is just two walls, by the way, you then "build" the design. Three workers do it all for you. You just click each one then have them build a lamp or whatever. They get tired and you give them coffee, then need a tool, you get it, etc. Not exactly rocket science. And, who needs a level to build a lamp? As I said, it is probably good enough for preteens, but even they will quickly tire of the uninspired graphics. Aside from the game play aspect, I had constant problems with the game crashing and/or freezing every time it goes back to the neighborhood screen. The game isn't listed yet on the eGames site, so there's no tech support either. Not that I really care since I was bored with it by the second crash anyway. My advice, save your money.

We love our trailer but the only thing is, make sure you are athletic and in shape before you purchase it. My husband has to attach it to his bike b/c I get too tired to trail the 2 kids around in it (they are about 30lbs each). I have to say that it is really roomy and lots of fun for the kids! It attaches to the bike easily and is easy to assemble, etc.
I bought this trailer to carry luggage, not children, and it has worked out great! I went to Martha's Vineyard for a weekend and was able to put my backpack and my wife's backpack plus food items and more in the trailer and it worked great!
I couldn't be happier with this product. It works perfectly for our little one, and can't imagine anyone spending the money on a name brand bike trailer when they could get this item for less than $100. I will say that the cloth seats and belts inside seem a little on the cheap side, but it works perfectly for neighborhood strolls. I would recommend this item to anyone on a budget who wants some quality outdoor bike time with their baby.
Though we were initially thrilled, we were not so happy when the first of the restraint straps broke within a few weeks of purchase. A few weeks later a second strap broke, rendering one side of the trailer unusable. Six months later, straps on the other side began fraying and snapping. Mind you, this was with infrequent use and with two children under the age of three--not really heavy or active kids. The trailer was kept outside in mild weather, covered and in the shade. Now (at just over a year of ownership) all of the straps have completely rotted apart and it is completely unsafe to put our kids in it. After reading through several of the other reviews, this is clearly a recurring issue.

Though we ultimately purchased the Instep Take 2 for less than $100 (on sale), I wouldn't buy this trailer again for half the price. I'm all for saving a buck where you can, but this is a *complete* waste of cash.
I have not used the trailer because of time constrains. It will be used this coming weekend.
The trailer is just what I wanted.
From placement of order to receiving the item, there were no glitches. I rated the overall service as 5 stars.

InSTEP Safari Swivel Double Stroller The InSTEP Safari is perhaps the most luxurious swivel wheeled stroller on the market. It is the crown jewel of the jogging stroller collection from InSTEP. Both parents and children love the safety and maneuverability of this InSTEP stroller. Whether parents are using the InSTEP Safari as a jogger or in standard stroller mode, the fact is that it is the perfect double jogging stroller. This is a go anywhere and do anything stroller from InSTEP with loads of storage. This InSTEP stroller is available in a couple colors. One of the standout features on the InSTEP Safari is the its lightweight, steel frame. The frame weighs in at right around 26 lbs., making it perfect for vacations. An InSTEP stroller is fantastic for taking on airplanes because of its compact fold which also works great with cars. A double jogging stroller from InSTEP also features a reclining seat which allows the child to remain in a perfect, comfortable position.
I bought this stroller last week (first week of June 2009). I was excited about the price, and the fact that it was a front swivel double jogger, however once it was assembled I was disturbed for the following reasons:
1) the "shade cover" does not shade at all, let me re-word- it will shade but only when the sun is directly above our heads ( noon)
2) my two boys ages 2&4 did not appreciate the fact that they were always forced to sit on an incline, the seats are adjusted by a drawstring in the back and the highest that the seat goes, they were still on an incline, and not able to sit upright and hold onto the lap bar
3) Finally, my biggest annoyance with the stroller, is the fact that it is to wide to go through a normal doorway. We went to the mall and I actually had to take out my kids from their seats, fold up the stroller, and attmept to put them back in. (which did not end well)
SHORT END OF THE STORY- I SENT IT BACK AFTER ONE WEEK OF USE
I would not reccomend this product to someone, unless that person is planning on using the stroller on a cloudy day, with kids that do not mind being slouched, and have no intersts in going through a doorway.
I originally had my heart set on the BOB but couldn't justify spending the money. After reading the reviews on this stroller, I decided to go with it because all of the reviews seemed positive. The first time I tried the stroller, the left side wobbled a lot and the front tire shook. After having several people look at it, they decided it was put together correctly and it shouldn't have that problem. Long story short, I ended up returning the stroller and got the BOB. The BOB is the best stroller I have ever owned and it is definitely worth the money!
I have owned the double InStep Safari stroller for about a year and I LOVE it! It's my favorite stroller. (I have an umbrella stroller, universal carseat stroller, Jeep all-weather umbrella stroller, and in the past I've had a Graco Metrolite and a Sit N Stand) It's SUPER easy to push with just one hand and it holds kids up to 100 pounds combined, so both my girls still fit it in. (My 4 year old is 42 inches tall and she can still fit, although her legs are too long and she has to fold them to the side and her head just touches the canopy) The seats recline individually and you can do either 3 point or 5 point harnesses. It is easy to collapse. I HAD to have a stroller with a front swivel wheel since I don't jog with it, but I think you can lock the front wheel in place for jogging. The only downside is that it is heavy (almost 30 pounds- lighter than my 4 year old) but I don't have a problem lifting it in and out of my van. It did fit in the trunk of my car (Mitsubishi Galant), but it was the ONLY thing that fit, so it's not really compact. But it would be hard to find a double jogger that is!

It doesn't have a cup holder, but it has a small soft "organizer" that hangs from the side and it is perfect for your keys, phone and camera. It has a big enough basket underneath for the diaper bag, your purse and a couple of other things. It fits through a single doorway fairly easily, sometimes you have to angle it, but I've never not been able to go through a door- although it is easier when it's a double door. It seems comfy for the kids and they like riding in it. And they have both fallen asleep in it. I have had to drape blankets from the canopy to shield them from the sun (we go on walks regularly with it), so I might consider getting one of those sunshades this summer.

I gave it 4 stars b/c of the sun shade and b/c of the bulkiness. I would recommend this to my best friend (and I have!).
I don't really write reviews for things--but I had write one for for this stroller. I bought it 2 years ago. I wanted a good running stroller but I really couldn't feel good about paying $500+. I love this stroller!

I've taken this stroller EVERYWHERE--and put ALOT of running miles on it. I've tested by friend's BOB stroller and saw few differences as far as steering, mobility, and ride. I actually prefer the InStep bc the BOB separate seats seems to squish my boys (who are taller for their age) in the seats.

The sun shade definitely needs to be improved. We live in CA where it's always sunny, so I slather them with sunscreen. The screen is good for resting my Ipod on or sippy cups.

And because I didn't shell out $600, I'm not so paranoid about taking it on airplanes, leaving it while we play at the park, keeping it on the porch, etc.

I love to run and my boys love the stroller--so it's a great match. If you're looking for a good double jogger but don't want to take out a loan, this is the perfect jogger for you.
We love this stroller!!! With two small children (2yrs and 4mos), it is difficult to find something suitable that the whole family can participate in exercise and other outings. The front wheel could use a little more weight for stability as it will begin to wobble if going too fast. Besides this, great purchase for the active family. Highly recommend!!!

I am entitled to call myself Queen of Keen - I own more than 8 pairs of Keen shoes in various styles and I love everyone one of them. The Calistoga sandal is comfortable and felt fine new out of the box. The Bayou color is very pretty and the leather uppers make it a versatile casual shoe. I have ingrown nails and the toe cap really protects my feet from the occasional stub or accidental tread on my foot.
I thought at first when I saw them that they were a little pricey for a slip on sandal, but after putting them on, I realized they were worth every penny. They are wonderful to walk in, and a soothing comfort to the feet. I would recommend them to anyone who wants comfort along with a nice look.
Like it alot but order a half size bigger if you have a wide foot.

(Pretty good movie)

(cute movie but disappoints)

(It was great! Saw it with my daughter, who's 6...)

I received the DVD for my sister in fabulous time and the dvd was in great condition. However, my sister wanted a full screen version and I do not think they ever made it. She is happy with the one she has and I'm glad I got it for her.
I bought this movie because my daughter had read the book. She told me the movie doesn't cover the entire book, but just a story from that book. That aside, I enjoyed it. The story was both depressing and uplifting at the same time, if you can believe that. I was also interested in the movie as a Harry Potter fan as Emma Watson (Hermione) provided the voice of the princess. Dustin Hoffman was Despereaux, which was fun too. I would recommend this movie.
From the previews, I was expecting more out of this little movie that could. Despereaux is very cute and the animation is great. The story line could have done a little more to explore the characters.
I got to see this for free and I thought that it was going to be good but I was unhappy after I see it. Hafe way in the moive I do not want to see how it end but I do. It had bad words in it and the have lots of hate in it. In one part the rats try to eat a princess alive. I will never see it again. It just hate to much hate in it. I am glad that I do not have pay to see it. It is a movie that look good but it is not. The only good thing about this moive is about forgiving other for what they do.
It was a very sweet movie...you guys tried to poo-poo it, it was simply great~

The Tale of Despereauxlooks a little likeShrek. The storytelling and animation draw on everything fromRatatouilleand classic fairytales to Shakespeare, Jonathan Swift,Indiana Jones, and, in its action sequences, evenBourneandBond. But this movie stands on its own; too dark and violent for very young children, perhaps, but for the most part it’s exciting and funny, and it delivers a message about bravery and forgiveness that is relevant to us all. Voiced by Matthew Broderick, the title character is a little guy, even by mouse standards, with enormous ears and an imagination to match; much to the dismay of his elders, he "never cowers, won’t scurry, and refuses to be taught to be scared" (he’d much rather read a book than eat it, a pursuit that fills his head with visions of valiant knights, damsels in distress, and a life defined by "courage, honor, and decency"). That leads to his being banished from Mouseworld to the realm of the rats, where, it is presumed, he will be eaten. But no. Ratworld--a dark, chaotic, genuinely scary place--happens to be the current residence of one Roscuro (Dustin Hoffman), a peaceful sort whose shenanigans in the human world have accidentally led to the death of the Queen, the imprisonment of the Princess (Emma Watson), and, worst of all, the banning of Soup Day (no small deal) and the end of soup itself! Roscuro and Despereaux join forces, inadvertently helped out by a homely but soft-hearted farm girl named Miggery Sow (Tracey Ullman), and, well, you can imagine how it all turns out. Directors Sam Fell and Robert Stevenhagen and scriptwriter Gary Ross (adapting Kate DiCamillo’s book) have concocted some vivid and interesting worlds for their film; the look is unusual, often washed out, muted, and bathed in hazy light; and the voice acting is excellent (others include William H. Macy, Kevin Kline, Stanley Tucci, and Frank Langella). All in all, despite a conclusion that’s confusing even while it’s predictable,The Tale of Despereauxis a worthy addition to the crowded animation field. --Sam Graham

(Funny, but quite slapstick...so not TOO funny)

The meaning to this movie is somewhat based in reality, sad to say. Not the most well-done movie, but not the worst that I have seen either. Price paid was less than a rental, so can't complain a bit. Gave this a 4 star rating by mistake and couldn't change it to a 3 star. Sorry. . .
Idiocracy is a derisive and caustic satire. I did not find it amusing. I would not recommend this movie as social commentary or as comedy.
This movie is a litehearted fantasy depicting the ultimate result of the dumbing down of the human race. While the concept is fun, a more realistic prognostication would depict a small upper class of intellectual puppet masters directing a populace of stupid followers. Because I believe the subject is a real problem I had hoped for a more realistic presentation.
This is a very funny movie. It does require a lot of attention though, or you will miss things. Buildings "roped" together, so they wont fall over, A car going off a crumbled bridge, and the "pile"
of cars at the bottom. The actors facial expressions, "or lack of them". The building signs. Everyone that has seen it with me has remarked "OMG... where did you get this?". I have watched it a dozen times so far, just to make sure I didnt miss anything. One thing for sure: It's got electrolytes... LOL
I first read of this film in a political commentary. I think it was with reference to the GOP in the 2008 election. So I thought, why not? Sounds funny.

The film starts in the present day with an "educated" (read "white collar" couple procrastinating as to whether and when they want a child. (They age and don't have any.) In the meantime, some redneck caricatures--if I recall both black and white--are being frutiful and multiplying, due to ignorance of or indifference to contraceptives. Well, one could have a problem with that. There are "class" elements that could offend both sides of the political spectrum.

To be honest, that's the part of the film at which I laughed the hardest. Yeah, yeah, we educated types can be arrogant. But I was just in Washington yesterday surrounded by some people--again, both black and white--who had more than adequately "multiplied" and whom I wouldn't want teaching my kids if I had any.

In the meantime, a rather mediocre army noncom finally gets transferred in his job at Fort Myer, or Fort Belvoir--something in the DC area--and becomes part of a long-term sleep experiment. The other, female, subject of that experiment happens to be a lady of the evening.

Others have covered the plot: They wake up after a massive garbage pile collapses 500 years later and the world is populated by a bunch of complete, consumerist morons, one of whom is watching the Violence Channel or something like that.

I was a little surprised that those who produced the film got away with commentaries on contemporary corporations, restaurants, for example. That was another item at which I laughed a little. Suffice it to say that the language used even in their marketing isn't "family friendly" in today's ostensibly more sophisticated environment.

As others have said, it's predictable. It's worthwhile as a satire, but lacks the subtlty I'd hope for in, say, a Kubrick film. (Ahhh, if only he were still with us) let along works by Rod Serling, or any others who fit satire in their work more tactfully.

Yeah, it's a funny flick. But it's not one for which I'd invite friends over for a fundraiser. And I can see why the writer referred to it reference our last election. Expect some laughs, but not deep discussions after others have seen it.

Given thatOffice Spaceis a bona fide cult classic, it comes as some surprise that Mike Judge's follow-up wasn't more heavily promoted. Granted, this live-action comedy is a darker, more pointed proposition, but it's unfortunate that few theater patrons got the opportunity to, well, judge for themselves. InIdiocracy, theKing of the Hillcreator visualizes what would happen if Devo's proposition--that mankind is in the process of devolution--came to pass. The catalyst: the overeducated start having fewer children while the undereducated have more. Enter Joe (Luke Wilson), a military librarian with no family and even less ambition. The Pentagon chooses him for a top-secret hibernation project due to his extreme "average-ness." They select Rita (SNL's Maya Rudolph), a prostitute, for the same reason. When the experiment goes haywire, the two emerge 500 years later--rather than one. Now it's 2505 and they're the brightest people in the over-polluted land. Everyone else is, basically, Beavis and Butt-head. Yes, the satire couldn't be less subtle, but the premise gives Judge license to make as much fun of junk food pop culture as dystopian classics like1984andPlanet of the Apes. Wilson wisely plays it straight, even if the actors who surround him sometimes succumb to excess. (ROMANCE REVIEW FROM A GUY--AN OLD GUY)

(A Western Chick Flick)

(Not a good love story, not good family values)

(Oh what a beautiful Love story)

While the basic plot idea of this movie is a good one (modern mail order bride type of situation), at the end of the movie I still felt Teri and Andrew to be mismatched. I love a cute, clean romantic movie, and Hallmark produces some very sweet stories, but this movie just didn't do anything for me, despite all the rave reviews that led me to watch the film. The character Andrew McCarthy plays consistently acts in an ungentlemanly, rude manner. If I--like Teri Polo's character--flew across the country to visit a man and he treated me that way, I would have been flying home the next day. Teri Polo's original boyfriend in the beginning of the movie is portrayed as being a loser who's afraid of commitment, but by the end of the movie I was rooting for him instead of for McCarthy. Boyfriend #1 learns a lesson and realizes that he needs to commit, but does McCarthy ever realize how rudely he acted? I understand that he was grieving his first wife, but that's no excuse for lack of kindness and hospitality. The characters in this movie just weren't gripping or memorable and I didn't sense much chemistry between the actors, though I'm glad that others enjoyed the movie. In the movie's favor, there were many witty lines that made me laugh. I also like that the movie emphasized the importance of commitment and marriage. But I'd like my hour-and-a-half back. ;-)

STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART is a romance. The DVD cover photo tells you that. It's a horse movie, the cover tell you that too. So it's predictable. The good looking gal will get the handsome cowboy in the end. And they'll be riding horses, and there will be wild horses, and beautiful western country. The predictability merits only 4-stars.
